( First part of a saga mentioned here) A lot of obvious tend to slip through the cracks when you have a lot of things on your mind. Kirk had one of those situations going on. He had outright been looking for more distractions, whether it was schoolwork or trying to do more in case of the sports club. With all the things happening around him, he pretty much didn't have time to think about the more awkward business whilst moving forward. He could just concentrate on improving and meeting new people. But still, he couldn't escape sitting in the same classroom, where looking in the wrong direction got him thinking, cowering in shame, and overall feeling awkward... With it having been his class since the beginning, it was an even worse feeling. And heck, the worst thing was he knew the solution, but didn't know a good time for it... How mad was Yumi still about it all? He didn't know if she had told others about it. Heck, he didn't even know if she had challenged Darren yet! He would have probably heard about it from the bro himself if that was the case. He hadn't told anybody... He didn't want to make the situation worse than it was. It was his problem, yet it felt like he had so little control over how far it went! He could of course go and apologize to her immediately but... who knew if she would just zap him again, and proceed to make it into the huge deal he didn't want it to become? That feeling of just wanting to be done with it, yet also fearing making it worse... The thoughts were the reason Kirk couldn't really look people other than Junko in the eye anymore when in class. But, this was not a story about that. He felt like he was not ready to fix it. In the end, another day of all that mulling and trying to get it out of his head kept going forward. He had finally gotten home, one place which he had really learned to appreciate in these times. It had given him the privacy he needed, and his grandpa having become more and more needy with the winter, had made it a big place of solace to him. He didn't have time to think about those things... And the sight of your grandpa in his bedroom, lying on his face like he was dead next to his wheelchair, would erase any mention or memory of that annoyance from anybodies head... The house echoed with his loud cry of horror, as he rushed to try and wake him up.
Kirk sat on a bench in the hallway of the hospital, fiddling his thumb together, and looking Confusedly towards any signs and people passing by, like a lost dog. He had visited this hospital often with his grandpa. His grandpa had always said he was fine! Always told him about these doctors, and what they had told him to do! Kirk honestly felt like slapping himself. Of course he would be more needy if he was sick! He hadn't been that needy in ages! More often than not, he wanted to do things himself! Always telling him he was fine! He should have noticed it so clearly, yet he was busy just making himself busy! Kirk huffed and puffed and shook his head. Atleast the ambulance had been quick. He just hoped his grandpa was alright! The doctors would just do their thing, that they usually did with him, and then they'd be off, back home and eating something! Kirks hands just went behind his head as he leaned forward. He was alright... he was gonna be alright... right?

A call emerged on the emergency line. The request came from a young man sounding frightened, saying at a very loud tone that his grandfather wasn’t waking up. After calming him down and getting the location, an ambulance was sent to the location. 10 minutes later, the loud sirens reached the outside of the residence, with medics knocking on the door. A faced down old man was set right up, and was carried into the ambulance, with the worried grandson brought along to ask some medical questions. This has happened before with other families, and sadly won’t be the last.
The hospital was busy as usual. Several worried families waiting for relatives, many people dropping by for check ups, and others were here for different reasons such as medicine refills. In the case of Kirk and his grandfather, this place isn’t a stranger to them. Arriving at the place, the usually receptionists greeted him, some of the recurring doctors nodded at him, and the main person who was taking care of him right now was familiar with them.
One of the doctors aids walked up to a nervous Kirk, awaiting at the bench. “Kirk, right?” He looked at him with a somewhat stern face. “Dr. Koizuma says it’s alright for you to enter. He also wants to ask you some questions, if you don’t mind.”

The familiar voice of the doctors assistant snapped him awake from his mullings, almost literally. His back straightened against the wall like a jack knife, with his hands lowering on his thighs. "Y-yes, that's me!" He jumped off of his seat, turning into the persons direction. "I-is grandpa alright now?!" He had problems controlling his voice. Usually these meetings were quick like this. Just checking his physical capabilities, and then letting him go. That was what his grandpa had at least told him. However, instead the assistant told him that the doctor was waiting for him. "O-oh... Okay!" Usually his grandpa needed some sort of translator. He wasn't exactly good in japanese, which made the usual meetings more so frustrating.
However, still, it was usually pretty rare for Kirk himself to be a big part in the check-ups... this time he himself was invited in. And as much as he tried to hide it, you could see in his expression, that he couldn't help but have made the connection that stuff was going to go from hot pot to a boiling pot... He felt like he was walking into some scary sight, or worst yet, a dead grandpa... He shook his head, as he opened the door, stepping into the room, where the doctor was presumably waiting. "Hey uh... Your assistant said you had questions... for me?" He was tapping his fingers together, and when he sat down, his leg was going up and down restlessly. "He is fine, right?! Just lack of coffee of something, right?!" He still held hope that this was just some mistake on his part... Those had been piling up lately.

The loud tone of his voice carried the connotation of a worried youth, scared beyond belief for his grandfather. You tend to see this state in many different forms. Whether it was from a distressed mother, a worried child, a solemn senior, no one wants to outlive someone else in the family. To consider that thought would be distressing. Especially in events such as these. Kirks grandfather is a regular at this place. Often times he arrives here to be checked up on and to grab his medicine. The last time he came, he was told to keep a closer eye on his health; around this point is where several people with his age and condition might suffer from intense pain if he’s not too careful.
On the bed was his grandfather, unconscious but still alive and with a breathing mask on. The doctor was his usual one; he’s familiar with Blusters condition. “Hello there, Kirk.” Dr Koizuma said in a gentle but professional tone. “Currently your grandfather is asleep, he’s alive but in a critical state and will be kept here for a while. The “while” is yet to be determined…” he notes as he grabs a board with the details. “ I just wanted to check on some few things, sorry to distress you. Now then…In his last visit he was told to pick up this brand of medicine.” He shows Kirk the bottle. “Do you know if he took any of it? It helped regulate his blood pressure.”

Kirks eyes had perhaps instinctively tried to avoid who was lying on the bed... His grandpa was there naturally. This weakish snore on his almost crumbled features was just emphasizing the fact that things were wrong. And naturally, the answer was not unexpected. But it didn't hurt any less. "Y-yeah... I should have guessed..." His head lulled a bit downwards. "He has been... Kind of tired overall lately. Hasn't been getting off the bed without bunch of coffee." Some people would have called the level of sound Kirk was talking at 'mumbling' compared to how he usually talked. It was like he was put in the corner again... It had been a long while since last time... "I mean, not like he has done this before! first time..." He sighed.
Apparently he was gonna be here for a while. "Past Christmas too?" Man, his grandpa wouldn't like that at all... Situation really was bad... the bigger problem was the question that was thrown his way though. The pills. "Yeah! I did! I have to do that stuff since he isn't really good for going outside himself!" Maybe this was a turn for the better. The next question however, shook him up proper. "I mean..." He turned his head towards his grandpa. He turned his head away, almost like he knew Kirk was looking at him confused. Had he seen him take the medicine? Usually he was there to make sure he would wake up early enough, but... "Well, after I go to school I really don't know... But I would imagine he took them! You know, he knows better! Usually."
But on the other hand... He hadn't exactly ever been a fan of talking with the doctors about this sort of stuff. "He didn't tell me what the pills were for though..." He scratched the side of his face awkwardly. "But uh, if he didn't take them... Blood pressure rising makes sense, but what else would that do?" Just his curiousity digging in a little. He didn't know if he would regret the question.

The doctor pauses while writing down what Kirk provided. "I'm afraid so. He'll be awake during then, at the very least. I'll make sure you have access to his room so you can visit him during then." He notes down what Kirk told him. Interesting. "Hmm. Suppose it makes sense. Medication like this is often halted due to a dislike of side effects. It's nothing to be faulted, many patients run into this roadblock once in their prescription. You said he takes a lot of coffee? Hmm...That could be both an side effect of taking his medication, or the result of not taking it. Have you seen your grandfather look...weird when he tries to stand up suddenly? just want to know, because the last time he came in here, he didn't mention anything. Perhaps he just didn't want to mention it." Once Kirk obliges and tells him if he did, he wrote down the details on the page.
"Hmm...and if he didn't take the medication, he might run risk of increasing his pressure and risk heart failure or..." he just pauses. He looks at Kirk."...There's a strong chance if he doesn't take his medication he can run risk of liver failure or a stroke. I know your grandfather can be a stubborn man, so maybe once he wakes up, you can try to see why he actually stopped taking them.

Honestly, Kirk was trying to block the thought about needing to have grandpa at the hospital for christmas. All that ranting he had made about him just needing to visit it every couple of days was enough to frustrate him. That and it probably came with a block on some of the usual food they ate during it... Not that Kirk was good enough to make some of that stuff to bring him. He shook his head. "I mean, if he has to be here..." Not like he could force it. The question about him looking kind of weird while standing up had him scratching his chin. "Well, nothing really. He can still do it on his own, but he does request me lately to help him do it... I dunno, he just feels overall more sluggish!"
Admittedly, listening to the doctor laying all the side effects on the table was like listening to a medicine commercial back home. Side effect of death... "I mean, He is kind of stubborn but...! I can just try and make him take it, if he needs to...!"
"What's sort of stupid... babble is that doctor feeding you now?" "Grandpa!" The english between them was clear. Kirks grandpa had woken up... He was trying to straighten his back, but instead let out groans of discomfort. "Fricking hospital beds... uncomfy pieces of..." "Y-you need an extra pillow or something!? I c-can easily grab one right...!" Doohan lifted his fingers and waved for Kirk to get down. Kirk stopped shouting. "Look, I've just woken up, I can try and get myself on my own to be more comfortable, right?!" Kirk nodded. Stubborn grandpa indeed... However, his eyes were jumping between the doctor and Kirk... He was clearly interested in what he had missed. "Now seriously, what did he tell you about my situation?" He pinched his eyes... he was still a bit drowsy...
"Well uh... He wondered if you've been taking the pills I bought for you, Said that they were for...Blood pressure!" Doohan scoffed, weakly lifting his chin. "Translate this to him... I am feeling tired every day, and these japidiots are giving me pills that make me even more tired... Can you tell them why that sucks?!" He groaned again, lifting a pillow under his head. Every movement was pretty much empowered by frustration. "Uh..." Kirk awkwardly turned towards the doctor. "He says that he doesn't exactly like that..."
"No, no... sorry Kirk... Just my temper and this... god damn bed..." In the end, Kirk proceeded to grab a pillow from another bed, and put it under his back. "Thanks, sport... Now then, I suppose a NICER way of saying it is, Do they have medication that doesn't make me so god damn tired? God damn, this language..." Kirk scratched his head for a second, trying to formulate a sentence after all that... Kirk had it a bit easier. He had been able to study it in a place where it was a little bit of a sink or swim situation. His grandpa, didn't have that need. "He is asking if you guys have some medicine that doesn't cause him to sleep it off even worse!" "Give it in normal japanese, no doctor blahblah!" Kirk gave a bit of a handwave, that he probably shouldn't say that to a doctor. "How am I supposed to trust doctors, whose speech I can't understand?"

The main draw of a stubborn patient is that they are too strong willed to be able to talk normally. If you treat them with the usual bedside manner, they'll bite back with the usual responses of 'don't need your help,' 'these doctors don't know what they're doing,' the other stuff. It's even more difficult if it's a foreign patient. They can be stubborn. If you're straightforward with them then they might take it the other way and be offended that this asshole doctor isn't helping them. It's a tough game.
"Tell him that I can understand him quite fine, It's just that I can't speak it well, being a...'japidiot' as he calls me." He says, somewhat amused. "As for him sleeping off his medication, tell him that if he's feeling tired, then he should have said that the previous visit." He stares at him. "Tell him that he was assigned to his medication a while back, and according to the info that the office provided me, said that he didn't mentioned being tired the last visit he came here. Meaning that either he lied or this is a recent development caused by another factor. Perhaps stress, muscle entropy, perhaps the sudden shift in weather." He then gives a piece of paper to Kirk. "Feel free to tell him about these other brands of pills that may be useful, although some of them might make you go over your preferred budget."

The doctor started saying pretty harsh words himself. Kirk felt a bit embarrassed, while his grandpa just looked on, scoffing and shrugging. Another lecture coming soon probably. Kirk listened in horror, as even more things to worry about his grandpa having were laid upon the table. Muscle entropy was especially bad sounding, taking that he was already pretty much tied to a wheel chair with how weak his legs were. How he had apparently lied about his afflictions, and about all these other things... and when yet another bill came to him, which he would need to read out, Kirk just shook looking at the price. "Basically, the doctors saying, that you are gonna get even worse if..." "Bring it here!" Kirk gave the note as Grandpa didn't seemingly even glance at it, starting to try and rip it. "No fricking antidepressant would help me at this fricking point...! I drink enough as it is...!"
"...Antidepressant?"
Kirks grandpa froze a bit. Had he said that outloud? "I mean... The price is!" "...Those aren't for antidepressants though!" Kirks grandpa groaned. And followed it with a brief sigh, as he leaned his head against his hand. "You remember when I told you during new years, that I didn't really like being here? All these new things, all these fricking language problems, and all that jazz?" "Y-yeah?" Kirk had a bit of a flashback to that night. It was the same night where he had told him that if he didn't feel like he belonged or enjoyed his studies, they would immediately go home... he felt his hair raise a bit, as he started realizing what he was saying.
"...I am starting to be at a point where I just can't be here anymore... I keep coming here, I don't recognize anyone properly, yet they all understand me completely. It's scary! That and whenever I talk alone with anyone, I keep getting into arguments... I don't have any friends here. And the only proper contact with anybody else I have here, is your parents! And you know my relationship with your father! Then they give me medicine that makes me sleep more, when I am already afraid of falling asleep for g-" Doohan cringed... that was something he didn't want to put on Kirk... That was not what this about.
But Kirk got the message quite well... Kirks head couldn't really fall lower, as he scratched his head. One of those fears he thought he had already conquered. He thought everything was fine, as long as he was doing fine at school! Yet here it was. Laying in front of him. A reason for him to be forced to go home. The scary wall from long before they even made it here had returned. But this time... Kirk didn't want to fight back... "You understand probably... don't you? You are a strong grown man. You can handle it..." "Yeah. I think."
Kirk turned towards the doctor. "Well... He wants to go home. And I am gonna go with him. Is there a way you could forward the things so that the doctors back in america can take care of-" "Wait a minute!" The words Kirk was using. He recognized some of them. And that didn't feel like what he wanted to say at all. "wha-?" "Let me try, if you can't say it right!" The grandpa coughed a little bit, as he started trying to form awkward sentences with japanese words he knew, as Kirk with tears almost falling down his eyes, could do nothing but watch at him all sorts of baffled.
"Me sick of here! Me go home to america! Kirk stay! Tell Kirk, How to stay, after I gone! Get it?!" Kirk blinked, it was very cavemanish. But he sort of understood it. "B-but grandpa, what do you mean 'Kirk stay'!?" "Exactly what it says on the tin, boy." "B-b-but, how am I gonna do that!? And how are you gonna even handle the...?!" "Look, I've handled mulling things for a year, I think I can handle a plane ride." "B-B-But... I don't...!" "Oh yeah! Student! He, student!" This sudden change in situation started filling his head with completely new thoughts, as the guy tried to stand up for himself, yet the doctor had gotten a question.

That is also another on how medical aliments can worsen over time and increase in extremity: the introduction of depression and the fluctuating state of mind many people have. It appears as if this has been on his mind for several months now. Judging by the way they talk and how nervous the kid appears, it's plain to see that this was a sort of...personal event. A personal moment that he is being used. You'll be surprised as to how frequent this sort of thing is in his line of work. He just remains composed as the two have their moment.
"...Hmm." He looks at the two. "Well. No matter what choice you two make, he can't leave the hospital right away. He'll have to stay here for a couple of nights. However, I can see if theres a way to limit those nights here and let you go home and continue your recovery. As for what you said, about your home situation, I'm afraid you're talking to the wrong person. Best I can say is that while you would be able to handle an airplane back home, you'll have to find immediate residence in another hospital. Now then..." He gets up from his chair. "I'll be heading out to see if we have any medication for him to ease the pain, as well as some..antidepressants. Please stay here." He heads out, leaving the two to talk it out some more.

Doohan watched and listened intently to what the doctor had to say, as Kirk tried to compile what was happening right in front of him. The doctor of course at first just confirmed again, that he would need to be in the hospital for christmas. But the rest of it was about seeing how early he could get out of the hospital... "Okay, understood!" In that regard, Kirks grandpa could handle himself. "Not nearly as hard to do that there as it is here, with all these judging eyes..." "WAIT A MINUTE!" Kirks grandpa flinched a little bit again turning towards him. "Look, what did I say about the volume?! I might be deaf, but I am not THAT deaf!"
"Look, Why are you all of a sudden all fine with me staying here alone?!" "Hmmm..." Doohan tired scratched his jaw. "Look, I should be asking, why you yourself aren't sure about it!" He shrugged, weakly lifiting just his shoulders. "You've been doing amazing at that school of yours... that and you've been more about taking care of me than it is about me taking care of you, you get me?" "I mean, yeah, but...! It's not like I have the money to keep paying for the house!" "Bah! I could just give you money from my bank account to handle that sort of business. Besides, it's not like that was the plan! Just imagine you inviting someone like Darren over, without me looking over you guys!" "Then what IS the plan!?"
Doohan gave a wide smile. It was almost like he had walked him into a trap, where he could reveal his final christmas gift before he himself would leave the picture, as he proceeded to weakly poke Kirk on the chest. "The plan... that I've been thinking about for a while... Is for you to move into the school dorms." He nodded proudly. "I assume you like spending more of your time in that club of yours, than taking care of me, after all? You can stick around the people you care about, have tons of fun, and no shackles keeping you stuck to me. That, and you could hang around with that sports club of yours almost the whole day, if you so wished? Wouldn't that be great?"
Kirk stuttered. "I-I-I mean uh... Yeah its uh... free and stuff but...?" The look on doohans face changed from a content smile to more of a befuddled smirk, as his eyes opened wider. "But?" Kirk instead, was shaking his head, rubbing his hair awkwardly. "It's great! It's great but... I uh... currently it's not a really good time to... go there." Doohan just blinked. He had barely heard what the boy in front of him was saying. That and it was confusing him even more so... "What do you mean it is a bad time?" Doohan in his mind hoped that the kid was meaning that it was christmas... many places where you could facilitate this sort of stuff weren't open during this time. But, the boy in front of him was avoiding his gaze so hard that that was probably not it.
"That's just my business, okay!?" Kirk didn't want to tell his grandpa about his messes... Not in a situation like this but... His head was starting to look down towards the ground again... As his grandpa was having whole different sort of thoughts in his head. "Are you... still afraid of me?" "No! No I'm not but...! UGH!" What would his grandpa think IF he told him... Doohan meanwhile was trying to make sense of this all in his head... The boy probably wasn't lying, since he would have probably been happier about him leaving if that was the case...

The doctor would soon return with the anti depressants and a few things to help with the pain. As happened many times in hospitals a new doctor arrived. A chart in his hands along with a clear baggy holding the medicines in his other hand. While he looked young or at best middle aged his eyes gave him the look of someone that had become molded with exhaustion and seemed to move like someone with full energy but appeared like he was on the verge of the exhaustion wreaking his havoc on him.
"I'm Doctor Ishi, Sorry for the delay. I've got a few sets of medicine here for your grandfather. There are some papers too that explain any details you need to know as for when you should take them as well as what needs taken with food etcetera etcetera." He'd say trying to offer a warm impression to them both. But it would only come off as tired if not somewhat robotic. "It might seem like allot, But don't worry while you are still here with us in the hospital we'll help you get used to scheduling of it all." It would only be about mid intrusion that he'd wonder if he'd perhaps walked in on something. "Pardon for having intruded... It's been a long night so my apologies."

The brief awkward silence was broken up by the doctor coming back... "...Who?" Admittedly, Doohan was sort of used to the doctors changing occasionally. Who knows, maybe the previous doctor was tired of listening to him whining again. It didn't help, that the new doctor came with all these new pills. The awkwardness caused by Kirks reaction had made him miss this whole thing about bringing pills... Kirk himself looked still as confused and avoiding as ever too. "Sigh... You sure you don't wanna tell me about this problem of yours?" With the doctor around it just felt awkward to talk about it. Kirk lifted his head. "Well, I...!" He fiddled with his fingers again. On one hand, he really wanted to tell him. It would get this dealt with... but what if he would get mad about it? Maybe it would even make him change his mind and make him take him with him...
"You think you can handle this situation of yours soon on your own?" Kirk lifted his head. Kirks grandpa was pretty much serving him 1-2 punches when it came to topics he was talking about. He just couldn't keep up. "Uh... I can try? I just need to you know, get it out to the right person, I guess... it's not a big thing but... just real, scary in some regards..." Doohan nodded, musing to himself again. "Now, what did the nice doctor say?" "He uh... told you that they would help you get used to the doses and things!" "Okay then... translate this to him: 'How long could I stay here at maximum, while my grandson takes care of his business?'" Kirk looked as confuddled as ever... "You sure!?" "Wouldn't have asked you othervise."
Kirk turned towards the doctor, translating the message as expected. "How long could he stick around here?" He looked a bit unsure still though, as he turned to look at his grandpa again. "I mean, you dislike this place, right?! So why would you..." "Oh hush!" Doohan said loudly. "Look, you've made your point. You've got something important to take care of first, before you move in. That's simple enough. Though I need you to understand, I am running on a timer here... the faster that I get out of here, the better." Kirk nodded understandingly. However, Doohan suddenly flicked him to come closer, and as he did that, pointed him to lower his head... so that he could ruffle his head of hair.
"Look lad. I know you are nervous enough to not tell me what your problem is. But I know you have the guts in ya to get your things fixed. Heck you've often 'pushed me around' yourself, if you know what I mean..." Kirk closed his eyes for a moment... Yet another moment in his life he didn't know what to feel about. "I hope I didn't force you to come here just cause I wanted to..." "No, no, You misunderstand me. I trust you to handle your own businesses. Its just that your gut tends to make all these butterflies in ya into actual bulls..."
"Just promise to tell me what its about after all this is done. Alright? I can get awfully stabby when I am too curious..." Kirk nodded. That he could promise. It was always easy to spread things like that when it was taken care of after all... "Uh... So what's the answer, hehe?"

The doctor only offered a sorta tired smile at the who comment. He was used to such things far more then such mild banter. So he showed little sign of it bothering him or garnering a response either. He only seemed to give the glancing grin as he looked over his chart briefly for a short time. Making sure all things were probably taken care of as well as written out given the case and severity at hand of the possible situation.
The doctor waited for a moment yet again checking his papers to answer Kirk's question. Quickly gathering his answer in a timely manner as well. "I would say he has some time allotted if needed. We can take care of him for as long as you need. Although we'll have to keep immediate family contacts of course to keep people informed of any bills, charges, procedures, anything that might occur during his stay of course." The doctor explaining figuring the boy was going to the contact he'd have to reach after should anything arise or change of the old man's status. The doctor quickly jotting down his number as well and offering. A nurse later could collect any information from the boy or old man they needed. "You can call me as well at this number should any problems cause you to need my help." He'd say briefly in professional explanations.

Kirk nodded at the medic, as the grandpa finally took his hand off of his head. "Yeah, you can be here as long as you need. But uh, it'll cost money apparently..." "That explains a LOT to be honest..." He gave the doctor a bit of a stink eye. No wonder they wanted him to come so often. "Well, no matter. Shouldn't be too much with the food quality I suppose... It'll go from my pocket." Thoughts were once again racing through Kirks head. On one hand, he was sort of happy how this situation had ended up but... on the other hand he would have wanted his grandpa to come with him back home... "You sure you don't wanna come home?" "Nah, probably better for SOMEONE to be looking after me. Don't take me wrong, like I said I trust you... But medical business is a whole different ordeal if you catch my drift..."
Kirk accepted the number, giving the number to his grandpa too. The grandpa proceeded to tap the thing onto his phone just in case... although a bit reluctantly. "Oh yeah! Dad and mom gotta know about this!" "No." Kirks eyes snapped open again... a usual occurence today admittedly. "But uh...!" "Yeah, yeah... I know. Rude and what not. But that's the only way we will get this extra time on your hands. They would want me back immediately othervise... And I don't think that's what you would want, right?" Kirk in the end couldn't sadly help but agree. His dad and grandpa had never exactly been in best relations... Mostly because his dad was a worrywart, and his grandpa was the sort to want to do everything his own way.
However, in the end, Kirk stood up, took his stuff, and started leaving. "You will call me, right? I don't want you playing dead on me!" Doohan wheezed like he tried to laugh. "Good one boy! And keep your chin up. You can do it... Just try to do it kind of quickly, alright?"
And with that, Kirk went home. At first, with his grandpa in mind, there was not much different. It felt like nothing had changed, other than the task he had gotten. But the moment he opened the door, he couldn't help but instinctively shout "I'm home grandpa!" ...He froze. And the tears begun to flow a bit... How long had it been since he had to be home completely alone? The house just felt sort of empty... But in the face of all of it, in Kirks eyes, he could see it as yet another challenge: Proving himself mature enough to be able to handle himself alone without needing grandpa around.
