Mia had been dealing with a fair bit lately. She'd been trying to find some kids to finally take on internships while also handling the police requests and her general patrol routes, and generally, she was looking for a night to cut loose. Getting one of her patrol routes covered by a more fresh faced hero, Mia ended up organizing a night out with one of the few friends she'd made amongst her co-workers. Freya. The fiery riot control leader who'd made quite the first impression by packing a punch in their first encounter. It was a helluva way for Mia to meet someone and not one she regretted. Heck if anything, it just taught Mia that they were two like souls much as she'd expected.
Having hit up the elysian Garden, a very fancy, multi-purpose place that had become her regular watering hole, Mia was glancing about the place, some woman on the stage singing out...in truth, she had to be honest, the past Mia would have never seen herself drinking in such a place, but damn it had worked out well for her. The people here were still fans of a drink but just high class enough not to constantly be hitting on her when they should know they didn't have a chance. Plus with the hot springs and massage services spread throughout the building, it was a great place to relax.
She'd sent hellhoud a text to meet her at the bar, and while she could try and make herself more obvious and standout...how could she really? She was a close to 8 foot beast with a giant red horn and wild blonde hair. Even in her civilian clothes, wearing a white short, an open flannel print shirt, and torn up jeans with boots, she stood out readily enough, chugging back her second drink already with some ferver. Afterall, a woman her size needed more than a few to even start getting tipsy.

The recent days and work have been utterly hectic. With the recent news about the Quirk Tax and the rise in violent crimes, Freya has been kept occupied for the past few weeks. After the incident at Shingawa, she was already back to her normal routine. The rise in new transfers was good and all, but those lost during the operation did lower morale a fair bit. Everyone is exhausted and even the more experienced officers are starting to crack. Most of the stress falls on Freya as she has to train the new recruits and join when the call goes out. She can simply not come along but the casualties during the operation echo in her mind.
It was only until this week where other departments started to go easy on them with the round the clock calls and give the division as a thanks for all of their hard work. Most of the unit gladly welcomed it and majority of them did some travelling out of the city, mostly to visit family and friends. Freya on the other hand, was invited to go out drinkin with the city’s number #1 hero, Redhorn.
Her relationship with Mia is a funny one. When she first transferred, she didn't know how the place worked. This was in the dead time before she was selected to lead the Hounds, so she was a bit listless in terms of what to do. To summarize the story, she did some sparring with the cities number one by accident and boy did she get a wake up call from it. They have since kept in touch but work has always kept them together and yet not. So what better way to relax than go out and get smashed at a bar! The best idea of a good time.
Meeting place was a fancy little bar in the shiny part of the city. Elysian Garden is what the bar is called she thinks? Nevermind the name of the bar and what not, all she needed to do is find a large ogre lady standing in the street and she will walk from there. As she neared the area, it got real gaudy real fast. The place looked like it could drain her wallet if she bad mouthed it for even a second. But she pushed on despite the stares.
Her attire was her usual black sweater, jeans and thick framed glasses as it was the only damn thing in her closet next to a tracksuit. She would walk the street with her usual looks and lo and behold, many were staring or running due to it. Albeit not as bad as before so it was a start. A few dudes tried to hit on her but were immediately scared off due Freya's natural charms.
She found the bar that was messaged. Upon entering, she would see Mia already drinking. Holy hell was she huge and the clothing only emphasizes her strength. Half of the dudes here looked scared to the sight and her presence only added to it. “Fuckin hell, Mia. should’ve at least waited for me to show up before you started drinking...bartender, a regular beer, if you dont mind!”, Freya would say as she would take a seat next to her. Many shocked expressions swept across the bar as she did this. No need to be so formal, just start drinking and enjoy the day off. As the bartender came with her order, Freya started chugging and it was soon done. She would quickly order a second one, but she would enjoy the drink slowly this time. "How's work been treating ya so far? Because its been high hell ever since Shingawa...", she would open with as she sips her mug.

Shooting Freya a bright grin as the woman finally found her, she'd pat down the stool beside her at the bar and give the woman a hearty pat on the back as she sat down. "Oh don't worry about me drinking. Have you seen the size of me? Hun i burn through the shit faster than a mouse nibbles through cheese. These two things?" She gestured between the huge mug style glasses, each one easily holding more than just a pint of alcohol. "That's the equivalent of a normal person sipping on a light beer. Truuuuust me. This whole place?" She'd gesture more vaguely over the bar space infront of them. "Gonna be full of empty glasses before the end of the night. Speaking of..."
As Freya got the attention of the bartender, she'd make sure Freya didn't pay just yet and knock on the counter to make sure she got the guy's attention herself. "Oi mate. Red Horn's tab. Keep 'em coming. If you don't see at least half a glass infront of us at all times, you're doing it wrong." She was probably coming off a little rude in her words, but the playful tone she was using hopefully came across more than not. With another refill coming her way thanks to her request, she'd shoot her attention back to Freya just as the woman started talking about Shinagawa.
"Ah fuck that was aaaaaa shit show." She'd let out with a hearty chuckle, shaking her head with a deep sigh. Honestly, given all the factors they'd had to work with...she couldn't say it turned out too bad. "I mean hey we took down the leader of...infinity? Unending? I dunno, it was something like that." Mia was of course referring to Kyoko, who was confirmed to have been imprisoned after the event. Of course it wasn't perfect. Thunder seemed to get away, and she wa ssure she heard that girl the painter was on the scene, but all in all, a win was a win and she'd take them where she got them. "Did you see the fucking rail gun they had on the back though!?" She'd throw up her arms in a gesture of utter disbelief as she tried to resist going on a full blown rant. "Wasn't this all military shit from Semper fi!? How the fuck do you misplace a whole damn railgun!" She scoffed in disbelief, hoping Freya was on her side here.

The big bad oni is paying for the drinks? Hell yeah! Looks like being buddies with a big show hero has its perks. Sounds scummy but with everything happening around me, I want to have one less worry and drink away my worries since I have had my god damn fill of problems already. Calls coming in day in and out since the fucking operation and it gets more and more hectic as each criminal thinks they are a the next big shot. Oh but the budget is coming our way, none of that shit is coming our way since my god damn division barely gets any of the money either way. But with all the higher ups getting new stuff, more dumpster diving for the Hounds for their equipment.
Back to the deal at hand, looks like the Big ol Red Horn had her work cut out for her. I only wish I was there to see everything in action, but I was stuck out dealing with the stragglers in the container area. But even then that was hell on me, a few villains got away, lost a few officers due to a surprise attack, and so on. It was all god damn annoying but it may serve as a taste for what's yet to come. Meanwhile the big targets were on board and a few of em were heavy hitters. But details were foggy die to the massive death count that was said to have happened. But hearing things here and there about the boat, I would have been more of a hindrance than a help. But she nearly spat out her drink once Redhorn just said one of the weapons they had on board. “A fuckin what?! Why the hell was there a rail gun there!?”, Freya would jokingly say to Mia as she would drink. That shit felt so surreal to hear, just who is crazy enough to even have that damn thing aboard?! But never mind that, she needed another drink, “Bartender, could I get some gin and tonic if you don't mind?” Different drink. Different taste. But it tasted good and it was all that mattered. Needed to get the mind off the life that keeps giving me problems.
“..wait...Who the fuck let a weapon like that fall into the hands of villains!?”,I would ask curiously in my own way, well in between sips of her drink. Though seems like this would be the perfect time to hear the fuck happened during that since I am sitting next to Pro Hero who was above her. “Sounds like you were going through more hellfire than me, like christ. Who the fuck was doing intell to not brief anyone on that detail!”, I would add, like what else was in the area we didn't know about? They could have fuckin bioweapons and alot of people could have died to some assholes inability to fucking communicate.

Mia didn’t mind sharing the wealth a bit. She wasn’t super well off, but since she’d been announced the most popular pro hero…well, she was getting a lot of brand deals, and while she wasn’t taking any yet, a lot of companies were trying to win her over with free products and shit. Literal crates full of energy drinks and even some custom made sports clothes to try and turn her to taking their deals. Sooner or later she might actually take the money, but for now, it just meant she had to spend a whole lot less of her own money, so paying for her pal’s drinks hardly bothered her at all.
As Freya reacted to the railgun Mia was mid-sip, and rushed through it to slam her mug back down with a baffled expression joining Freya’s. “I know right!? I mean how the fuck did they think they were gonna sell a railgun at that auction? Was someone gonna just load it into their truck and take it home!?” She chuckled out loud as Freya made her own order, taking note of it for the future incase they ever went drinking again, but for now she’d just stick it in the back of her head. At the further questions of the railgun…
“Again, I knooooow. I mean I know half the people at semper fi were some sort of…corrupt army officials or some crap, but how the hell do you misplace a railgun and we don’t know about it sooner? I mean wouldn’t you have expected we’d have been hunting that thing down MUCH sooner?” She waved a hand about though, not too dismissively but sort of…brushing the following idea aside. “Don’t shit on our intel though. I was working with the guy going under the codename ‘heaven’s above’ or something like that. Legit, he did some good work helping us out and I ain’t gonna say a bad thing about him…but…jesus Christ. Look.”
She lifted her arm and rolled back her sleeve. Thanks to her mutation the marks were fading, but still vaguely ‘deep’ marks littered her arm, her palm was noticeably a redder tone than the rest of her skin, a sort of pink shade, but following it up her arm, it looked like her blood vessels had imprinted on her skin as tracks flowed up her arm. “You can blame Thunder for some of this but ya know that big blue shot that went into the air? That was me aiming the cannon to the sky, and the damn thing zapped me the whole damn time. Wasn’t easy I’ll tell ya that much.”

“Gotcha. Didn't know the intel was hard to get...but christ what were the odds of a railgun…”, Freya would retract her previous statement as she took another sip. She worked with one of the other divisions in a short sparring session, so that department must be some good people. That operation went off without many issues, barring a few troubling things she heard down the grapevine. Mostly because of the number of casualties vary from place to place and the contents of the crates. However bringing that shit up in public ain't exactly good considering how hectic things are. So it's best to keep drinking along and keep the mood relatively light.
She would continue to drink until Mia would bring up her arm and show the wicked burns she got from the battle on the boat. Fucking painful to look at considering what she said after but she made it through at least. “Ooof...quite the scar the fucker left behind… though you went against one of the higher profile villains… I was dealing with stranglers and did a damn good job rounding them up...though a bitch with chains was a more trouble than she was worth…”, Freya would add as she drinked. Damn hope they find that girl because she was a slippery one to deal with. The other villains in the area are still being hunted down and the ice thug she capped was amongst them. Though the excessive use of equipment did land her in trouble as she did use them willy nilly. She had one flashbang left and could have chased but there were too many injured.”...couldn't do much to chase since there was plenty injured that needed care...damn near used all of my tear gas and flashbangs during that op...but a few lives were spared at least…”,Freya would go on as she would get the creaks out of her neck as drank.
She would soon finish that glass and ask for another beer. “...did you hear about that new quirk tax?...Fuckin hells up with the government passing that after the shit we went through…and we can’t actively say anything about it…”, she would remark as she would drink. It was starting to feel something from the drinks as she talking about the op and shit. The atmosphere of the place was nice and relaxing but christ do the two women in the bar makes the place hectic as hell.

“Eh that boat was pretty much run by villains. We had a few undercover guys but when even the villains are keeping secrets from eachother so the auction came as a surprise…well suffice to say it’s not a surprise that we didn’t get intel on shit like that. Besides, even if my arms still sting, I gotta say I like a surprise here and there.~” She’d stick her tongue out between her light tusks, the prominent under-canines very small and not protruding out of her lips like that usually might when she was pushing herself to her limits. She was nice and relaxed with just a bit of energy pumping through her to keep her in the zone, chugging down her mug and holding her palm open for another freshly poured beer to swiftly be slid into her grasp.
Presenting her scars from the fight didn’t come with much shame. She knew that they wouldn’t last, and while she did hold some regret that she wasn’t able to bring in Thunder permanently, she was pretty sure shitty ass marks like this were worth it. “Eh, I’d put most of it to the rail gun. The thing was falling apart towards the end and kept sparking me while I was trying to shift the barrel. End of the day though, with healer quirks and that, it ain’t like I gotta wear these scars for long.” She rolled her sleeve back down with a casual shrug as she leaned into the bar, a proud grin on her maw. “But hey, till they’re gone, I got proof I went up against the biggest, baddest criminal in Japan, and he ran away like a little bitch.~ Cheers to that.” She’d lift her drink up to meet Freya’s. “And to you too. Everyone played their part that day, so don’t go under-sellin’ yourself just cause ya were too busy saving lives to finish off my leftovers!~”
As she hit the halfway mark of her fresh beer, really starting to feel a buzz now that she was… 4 and a half mugs down, she glanced across at the mention of the quirk tax and tipped her head back with a groan. “Ugh don’t even get me started. I mean who the fuck thinks it’s good to tax people for how they’re born? How they even got that shit to fly these days I’ll never know…” She’d sigh a little and lower her voice. “Careful though…any paparazzi catch us badmouthing it and we’ll never hear the end of it from the guys upstairs… I mean I trust most of the regulars here but ya never know.”

Freya would chuckle in response to Mia's remark about her side of the operation. “Only the mighty Redhorn could say as something as a boat full of villains as a surprise!'' she would exclaim as she finished her glass and asked the bartender for another refill. Freya was a tad bit sad she didn't get scratched up during the op, but wearing her riot gear did help immensely during the clean up. Aside from the Chains that dug in a bit but nothing aside from slight bruising. Though that chain bitch did get away and god that was annoying. But getting mad about the past ain’t good for the mood so she kept drinking.
She nearly did a double take hearing what Mia said about her scars, but fortunately she didn't waste the beer and regained her composure.”You were doing what now?! That's one hell of a thing to do on a mission! You're built like a god damn sturdy to shrug that off!”. She would say in joking tone as she would wonder how the fuck did she become friends with her. The girl can do this without ease and here she was sitting next to her enjoying a cold one. She has her work cut out for her from this point on if this sort of shit she has to deal with. But she did emphasize that all of the heroes did their part. “I suppose you’re right but god damn that operation was an adventure… my end was understaffed with heroes so I had to do my best to prevent more shit from going south...but it turned out alright..” She would say as she would drink.
“Cheers to that!” She would say she would clink her mug to Mias and continue drinking. Though the situation has somehow gotten worse since that op for some goddamn reason. One would assume that crime would die down as a result of this sort of thing but NOPE. Hotshots coming out of the wet work thinking they can do some fuckin damage when all they can do is shoot fuckin bubbles of air at people. She would finish her mug and get another refill to entertain her thoughts. The Buzz was starting to come and boy did it feel nice. It was about fucking time because she needs this right about now with everything as of late.
Mia would share her sentiments on the bullshit known as the quirk tax and it was relieving to hear the number one hero to say it. “Paparazzi can go eat it, fuckers can’t even get near me without quivering in fear...must be my personality driving their asses off… The higher ups ain't out in the field dealing with the bullshit...haven't been back in my apartment in about a good three weeks...only recently being allowed time to go back..” She would complain and joke as she would drink more and more.” I’ll take your word for it but god what is the world coming to when people are getting taxed on just for existing...it fuckin blows..” She would remark as she put her mug down while it was half full still to rest. “..Though the over time helps with strength training...I think im getting faster as of late...and new stuff keeps coming up about my quirk...loads of new shit that I spar with one of these days”

Mia chuckled a little as Freya seemed to get so impressed by the shit she was doing and almost a little jealous about it. Mia didn’t try to gloat and rub it in her face but it was definitely bringing a smile to her that she’d managed to impress a fellow hero rather than earn their ire for being so reckless. Despite being number 1 her methods made it hard for her to earn favour with other heroes, so hearing Freya get so excited about it just… made her smile to say the least. “I think they gotta keep us understaffed though while the whole… ‘thing’ is in it’s infancy. We’re basically a whole new branch of the government they gotta pay. Sure we can get sponsorships and stuff which normal government stuff can’t, but they still gotta pay us a decent wage in the meantime. They’re probably saving up any public donations they get for hiring the students when they graduate.”
She’d still knock her mug against Freya’s with a smile all the same even with the serious talk but… as much as they could complain, when it came to the job itself the government tried to do right by them where it could. Sure that quirker tax was fucking bullshit but they still got paid and made a decent living, and it wasn’t like there were rumors of them getting shut down or nuttin. Mia had to abide by the rules more then when she was a vigilante but they still let a lot of shit fly under the radar with her to keep her working, which she could appreciate.
All the same tho…
“Eh I dunno what that’s like. My family moved with me to Japan, but I made sure I didn’t live with them just incase anything happened. Got a nice place in central Tokyo. Even got a special button so it’s windows open from the outside. That way I can literally jump back into my place on like, the tenth floor if I need to run in and grab a few hours before my next patrol… you live far from the hounds or somethin’ or has it just been that busy for you guys lately?”
She took another large sip though with the quirk tax talk and rolled her neck back, mercilessly letting out a deep belch from the base of her throat, not lady like at all in it’s nature. “ARrrRRRiIiiIIII dunno-“ She began, her burp flowing into her words. “I think I heard some shit about Serperior finding some safe way to protest but… ya know we can bitch and we can moan or we can do something. I don’t think losing our jobs is the way to go but… maybe there’s some shit we can do about our public image. Maybe so we come off less like just aimless vigilantes with a paycheck eh?”
She’d smirk a little, reaching over and ruffling the firey hair of her friend. “Aw that your cheeky way of askin’ for a rematch short stuff?~”

“My place a distance from the office...a hassle to go there and back everyday...these days have been hell to the point where a number of guys sleep at the office so we can take calls...crime rates and everything...this was the first day in a while where we can get a day off..”, Freya would reply as she takes another swig.” My apartment is a bit high but god damn does the pay needs to get better...the squad been using older equipment boy does maintenance stack after the 7th raid in a week.”, she would add on as she would sigh. The job is good and all and the pay is nice but god damn does it wear down on the body after a while. Can’t exactly speak for the entire office but a lot of them NEEDED this day off. After about the 10th call about an incident involving some quirker gang, the tension was palpable from the moment they all got out of the vehicle. Even the more light hearted members were on edge by that point. A few arguments broke out afterwards..which Freya had to break up. The call from uptop was someone appropriate because if they didn't call after that, then she was about to explode in and tell them to give them a damn break. Quirkers like her can handle it but these are just normal people. Hell a few friends got seriously injured during Shinagawa and yet they want them to keep doing this. Safe to say that she has a lot on her mind but today was drinking so it was time to relax.
The mood was raised when Mia fuckin belched like a champ in the middle of the bar. A few were caught off guard, some were repulsed and some were chuckling. “Jesus christ Mia, at least warn a girl before doing that.!”,she would laugh off as she would get a refill on beer. Listening and thinking on Mia's thoughts on the matter, she would give it a second of thought for it to click.”...shit you have a point… but with everything that is going on...what can we even do that wont put some branches in danger...eh maybe I’ll get called up by Witch Doctor or something...I'm not the type to do public speaking...not with this beautiful face...More fit for the action and frontlines”, she would motion to her face and fangs.”..But you? Most likely, you can pull your weight...and if you have an idea on that..hell I’ll lend you a hand if ya need i- maybe...just maybe”, she would tell her as she would avoid her look for a moment when she brought up rematch. Some wounds are still old but god damn did she kick her ass the first time they met. But god damn she has the potential to do some major stuff in the future if things get more hectic. Only motivates her to push herself harder to..keep up.
“Look I want to do my part as well and see what I can do on the field...testing my mettle against the Mighty Redhorn is something that usually does the trick...you can still kick my ass but I have been learning some new tricks as of late...wouldn't hurt to see how much it improved… ”, she says sheepishly as she took another drink, the buzz slowly creeping up on her. Much of her work is mostly doing her best to catch up with the top dogs, not exactly a pure hearted goal but if she wants to bring any change to the system, then by god she needs to get stronger and gain merit. Can’t do shit unless she gets her name out there.
“Thats a massive if due to the amount of shit that is going on by the way...first issue is the crime rates...second is...everything else… Fuck Im starting to ramble...god dammit”, She would say as she would rub her eyes for a moment before drinking again.

“Yeesh. Sounds like you guys got it rough to say the least… but I guess when they see you guys as a group the shit they expect you to handle gets kinda… exponential? That the word? Anyway they expect you to handle bigger shit AND more shit, not realizing the bigger shit can still drain the fuck out of you even as a group. It ain’t really fair but dems the breaks when you’re dealing with shitty government officials who wanna get every dime of work out of you that they can.” She gave a loose shrug, she’d been managing her own workload pretty well but there had been a lot more of it lately even she could see that. She took a hefty sip of her beer and let out a light chuckle as she added. “Hey ya must be killing their bottom line on all that overtime though.~ Consider that a win at the very least.~”
The mention of them using older equipment, and Mia briefly offered. “Hey I don’t know how much riot gear costs but… I got a few police officers who owe me a handful of favours. Maybe I can have a word and get them to share any deals they have with their suppliers? Ease the load on you guys?” Odds are it’d just be putting duct tape over a leak in a damn, but hey, anything to slow down the flood would help in times like these right?
Chuckling more heartily as Freya reacted to their almighty belch, Mia shot them a wide grin as they reacted to it like it was a gunshot, a few members of the bar joining her in a laugh while others shook their heads and tutted, one even muttering ‘I thought this was a refined establishment’. Yeah bitch people fuck in the hot springs, this place is soooo upper class! Hahahah! She didn’t say that aloud of course but the memory of fucking the place’s owner in the on site hot springs was a delight of her memories to say the least.
Back to Freya at least, she lifted her brow and took in what she was saying. She scoffed a little as she said she was a beautiful face, and Mia shook her head as she let the soft chuckle flow. “Uh huh. Sure.~” As far as ideas for rebellion went though. “I dunno. I got a few ideas. I work with this kids hospital now and then for charity events but… I don’t wanna ‘use’ them just for a better image ya know, but I think stuff like that can help, doing more charity and crap when we can to show we’re not in it for the flame and glory… I mean heck I’ll admit I love the limelight, but I also like to do my part where I can. No one side is my whole identity and… maybe if the non quirkers saw shit like that they wouldn’t vilify us so much. Who knows.” Really, in the end it was a bit of a lose lose. She either felt guilty for using charity for publicity, or she performed it, and no one noticed, or thought, like her, she was just using it for publicity… it was a tough minefield to navigate.
Feeling a bit lighter in mood however as Freya made it clear they were eager to test their mettle against the Oni once again, she turned to them with a wide grin “Hey I mean if you think you can even come close to handlin me I’d be eager to see what you’re made of. I actually was looking into buying some land out in the outskirts of Japan… maybe you and me can go there and let loose once it all goes through. Would be more ‘free’ than in some stuffy training facility aye?”
Sipping her drink again as it emptied, and making sure to get her and Freya another refill, placing the hefty mugs. “Ya know this is… I’m gonna get soppy but this is nice. When I first started working here I thought I’d just be surrounded by fuddy duddies who.. thought what I get out of hero work. The thrill of a fight, the roar of a crowd… they’d see that shit and think that’s all I am. Push me out for it… it’s nice to have someone I can share a drink with finally.”

She would listen to Mias reservations on using the people to better their image, something she didn't even think about was a big concern. But thinking about it, she would realize that it would be pretty underhanded to use the public to get their way. However the government does the same but if the heroes were to fall to their level ...does that make anyone live better as a result? Maybe it's better to improve the public image through the work rather than just mindlessly doing it. Honest work gets the best results, but in times like this would it really work out for em? Eh conjecture aint her kind of deal and she will find a way to work it out. Can't really add on much either way since most of the grunt work on that end is left with public relations and they have their way with words. Well barring their lack of guts when it comes to speaking with her about matters in the office. Though she could ask them about any ways to improve the image of the hounds. Her neck of the woods aint exactly welcome in other areas but they'll warm up after a few dozen visits and letting them know who does their job better. She would chug the class and then call for the bartender for another refill.
Freya would get her refill and hear Mia’s response to another sparring match. “I’d be up for it, the space would help letting us cut loose a bit...plus I feel like I’ll need it. If you ever get a piece of land..for now...work got us pinned…maybe I’ll ask around to see if any of the hounds has some open land..”., she would accept her offer as she would take another swig. Knowing how Mia works, she’d nab that piece of land easily with her name and merit. Man, this is a feeling she hasn't felt in a while. The feeling of contempt with one's situation or something. The feeling relaxed and just enjoying the time off with someone. It's a feeling that was soon voiced by Mia, a lot of it resonating with Freya in a lot of ways. She would say her piece after Mias as she wanted to take a few more drinks to let the buzz come in.
“Likewise...ain't exactly easy to make friends when you got a face like mine...haven't had a moment like this in a while..its a nice feeling after all the work..makes little moments like this worth it…”, Freya would say as she would down another beer. The buzz was coming in as she started to loosen up on her posture and her way of speaking got more calm. “Bah, now Im starting to sound all sappy and everything...point is that this is nice and prolly try and find more people we can do this with...bound to be a few pros who can loosen up after a few drinks…”, she would suggest as she would get another refill.

Mia smiled wide. It really was rare for her to see other heroes who actually had a small bit of a battle lust in them. Almost stupidly rare in her eyes. How did you get into a job like this without loving the thrill of a good fight at least a little? Sure, justice, peace, saving lives and all that. Great fucking motivators… but if you don’t LOVE what you do, what’s the point in doing it? There were other ways to save lives afterall but… eh. Maybe it was just her. She couldn’t see herself doing anything else was all and she had her reasons held close. She was still just glad to have someone who liked to knock heads for a few rounds other than herself. “I mean we’ll see. Either way if we need an excuse to fight we can pretend it’s an exhibition match and use UA’s shit. They’ll even give us an audience~” She cheekily added.
Mia had been throwing back the drinks like no one’s business but with her size and natural tolerance only the faintest of buzz was starting to come through. She leaned on the bar a little more heavily, glancing across to the Hellhound drinking with her and letting out a light scoff. “Glad to know I’m not the only one… I mean..” She pushed up a little and gestured over herself. “Ain’t nothin’ wrong with me right? I do my job, I get shit done. It really so bad I take some personal joy in bashing in some bad guy’s head?” She shrugged casually, not holding too much weight in it but… fuck. Being top dog but everyone in your ‘league’ hates you… it wasn’t the most fun. Especially when you were only top dog for some stupid popularity contest and not something official.
She glanced across with a smirk to lighten the mood. “Face like yours though… bitch if you don’t mind me saying you’re handsome as fuck!~ Or pretty as fuck if that’s what floats your boat I dunno. But this thing ya got goin’ on?” She gestured over Freya’s entire face. “Fuckin’ workin’ for ya. Surprised you don’t got guys and gals beggin’ for a ‘hot ride’ with the hound from hell!~” Mia grinned nice and wide, offering her drink glass across for a ‘cheers’ before downing another mug full of brown liquid, genuinely complimenting the girl across from her. She put work into her body, and her face wasn’t bringing any of that down.

“That's another way to do it...but I’ll think about that ...UA has some faces ive been told to keep an eye out from guys around the office…”, she would retort as Mia suggested that idea. An exhibition match in front of a bunch of students who aim to fill the workforce with their talents sounds rather promising. But perhaps they need to hold onto that unless both of them pull a few strings to make it happen. Not too sure how the students at UA would feel about the sight of two pro heroes sparring but if drives away the boredom then hell yeah. It’d also help with getting recruits and getting her name out there. Gotta get famous one way or another and cant rely on Mia here to advertise for her forever.
She would slam down another mug of beer and then ask for another in sync with Mia. The buzz was slowly coming in as she was starting to turn a bit red in the face. Her size and moxie was not enough compared to the massive oni woman who was downing drinks like water. In between drinks, she would listen to her talk as she was enjoying her drink. Sympathizing with her feelings of satisfaction when doing her job. She would finish her glass quickly before adding on her piece.
“Look, this job would be monotonous as hell if we didnt take some joy in bashing in the faces of criminals...well some of them. Ain’t nothing wrong with enjoying punching a lawbreaker who had it coming to them. So you ain't alone on that, `` she would say to her as the bartender would pour her another drink. Lifting up the mug and clinking it with Mias, she would continue to drink and loosen up a fair bit.
“Well thats because anyone who takes a chance with the hound from hell, usually chickens out before the good part happens…”, she would say she would take another sip of her drink.
Freya would blush a but at the compliment Mia would give her as it was quite a while since she heard words like that. She would clink her glass to hers as she would respond to Mias compliment in turn.”I could say the same for you, I'm surprised anyone hasn’t tried their chance to have a hot night with the Redhorn”,
Much of it is truth with some humor in, as she was a bit tipsy and the thoughts sorta flow in. It’s a giant oni woman, who in the right mind wouldn't want to at least TRY to climb it at least once.

“Oh trust me, most kids there would jump at the chance to see us fighting. Literally. Most of them would probably ask if they can get in the ring too!~” She chimed with a cheeky smirk, knowing from experience how gung ho some of those kids could get and not bashing them for it in the slightest, if anything just more eager to have a match with Freya infront of them to see the looks of awe of a crowd who actually understood what they were seeing. Mia always loved to see a crowd in awe, and when it was a bunch of kids who had super powers of their own, a mix of fear and a sense of ‘I can take her’ in their eyes, she felt both proud and invigorated, especially seeing such an eager generation that’d be coming up behind her..
With the drinks coming and coming, and by the looks of things Freya’s own pace seeming to relatively match her own (Mia was chugging far more, but they seemed to be getting buzzed at about the same rate as even Mia’s cheeks started to rosey up a bit), Mia was definitely feeling like the night was running on a scale of ‘worth it’, especially given she was never too likely to face hangovers or regret the morning after a bit of a drink thanks to the nature of her quirk burning through the agonizing side effects of the alcohol.
“You’re right, I just hate how some people can look at ya like yer dirt if ya admit shit like that.” She clinked her drink with Freya’s, taking a shit before continuing. “I dunno, I just hate dealing with those ‘holier than thou’ types.” She stood from her stool, imitating, in her head, someone like Serperior, who she always thought was a bit up his own snakely ass, though it came out a bit more like a mock shakespearian accent or something. “OOoooOOoO!~ Forsooth! Looket at me! I do alllll the charity work and I was a biiiiig actor, but god forbid I ENJOY showing criminals what for! Good heavens NOOOOO!”
Mia may be a little more drunk than she realized by now, especially as she briefly slipped as she mis-aimed her ass for her stool and nearly fell on the floor, just barely catching her elbow on the bar to prevent that. “Whoops…”
With the compliments, in a way, coming back towards her, Mia held a cheeky smile as she leaned back against the bar as Freya mentioned she was surprised more people didn’t try it with the Oni heroine, and to that, Mia took a smug sip of her drink as she quoted an old, old movie. “Do, or do not, there is no try.” She teased… before chuckling through a mouthful of beer as she realized how that sounded. “T-that’s not to say I’m easy! Hahahah!~ Just more people get to ride this demon than you might think!~ I mean if I wasn’t drinking with you I’d probably be trying my ways with that classy lass down the bar.”
Mia pointed with a finger of the hand holding her beer, gesturing down the bar on Freya’s other side. There was a rather elegant looking woman in some silky looking attire, like she was either here for a good time themselves or stopping by before or after some classy charity event, Mia subtly hinting through pointing to her she definitely had a ‘type’, and that type seemed to be a bit more on the ‘snooty’ side than one might expect…
Still had damn fine legs though. And that rack? To die for.
