Great anger had burned within Alaster once the news of Meiko's arrest had been out. But after the anger had subsided, the anger was mostly obscured by a feeling of emptiness. He felt miserable and alone. Without his beloved angel to light up his life, Alaster felt nothing but darkness. A pit of despair. It was like back before he had met Meiko. No, it was far worse. Back then, all Alaster knew was misery and pain. But then Meiko came into his life and made everything not just tolerable, but enjoyable. But now she was locked away. Now, Alaster knew the pain of having something so precious and wonderful being forcibly taken away from him. It was far worse than any kind of pain he ever had to endure. It was complete and utter hell.
Alaster found it hard to focus on much of anything without Meiko. Nothing else mattered to him. He wanted his angel back. He wanted to feel her embrace once again. To listen to her beautiful voice. To look at her gorgeous face. Oh, how he missed her so! That stupid pro-hero bitch! And those bloody pricks that were celebrating Lady Lavande's imprisonment and treating Witch Doctor as such an amazing person. The thought of that made him feel furious! Outraged! Sick with anger! How dare these fools be happy! How dare they lock away a beautiful angel who did nothing wrong, while far worse scum continued roaming freely and celebrated as 'heroes'! Just the thought of that was why Alaster was only allowed to drink from plastic cups and bottles. Otherwise, the floor and walls would be covered in shrapnel.
Alaster was currently in the Kobayashi underground city, staying alone in one of the empty places. It was not too shabby, though the place was a bit dirty due to Alaster not bothering to clean the place. What was the point? What did anything matter if Meiko wasn't here with him? Who cares about anything else? Alaster would just spend most of the day sighing and thinking about how poor Meiko must be doing. He only bothered eating when the growls of his stomach proved to be too much to ignore. And even then, he ate very lightly, almost dangerously so.
What am I even doing here? I should be out fighting! I should be tearing down every single prison until I find Meiko. I should be ripping Witch Doctor to pieces until that bitch is unrecognizable! But what good does it do to poor Meiko if I get caught too? I can't save her from a cell!
In frustration, Alaster punched the wall, leaving a very noticeable dent in it. Ignoring the pain in his left knuckle, Alaster kicked the couch before collapsing on top of it and sighing. I miss you, my love! I'll get you back! Until then, please be safe!
Unbeknownst to Alaster, seeing as he stopped bothering to check in Villain Chat to read the messages from the few who cared, he was about to be visited by certain guests. |

| it doesn't matter if we're devils, I can't abandon you |
The last time Byeol-Su had been to an arcade of any sorts, she had been in Nakano, and the situation was so much more pleasant than this one was. He had brought her along on business but most of their time had been spent just seeing the sights and "observing"; very little actual work got done, but maybe there was more he did when she wasn't paying attention. There was no such fun and games to be had this time, though. When the news had announced that the number three criminal, Lady Lavender, had been caught and jailed by a pro hero, Byeol-Su had felt her throat tighten up all of a sudden. Oh no, oh no, oh no. Not Lavender! She was one of her friends!
Sure, they didn't know each other in person, but she had called Byeol-Su a friend and told her she liked her, even if she sent her some weird links that made him mad. And just when she and her boyfriend, the mysterious and misanthropic CrazyCrow, had been talking about getting married hardly a week beforehand. They'd even invited her to come. It was the first time she'd ever been invited to such a thing, and she'd been so excited, even when he asked her nicely not to say anything about it around him for some reason. Knowing she was in jail...oh, poor, poor Crow...he must be so sad...
She couldn't just let him be sad alone. Nobody deserved to be alone. If it was her friend who had been arrested, and she was left alone and sad, she didn't know what she would do. The same applied to Crow. He wasn't safe so long as he was alone, and if he did something dangerous, now, alone...
She'd badger him into letting her go. Whether or not he trusted Thunder, or liked Crow, or anything like that, didn't matter to her. He knew Thunder at least, and knew the other person who had been invited--Rogue, the bat-like man who's saved her some weeks ago--so he could trust her to be safe and not be harmed by those around her. Not intentionally, anyway. And her going would be a sign of good faith! Her arguments were ready to go as soon as she'd been given the address to the entrance to the underground.
But he hadn't objected. Not even once, not even a little. In fact, he'd been in the chat seconds after, offering their aid to save Lavender, if they could.
She didn't understand.
She wouldn't complain, though, when it meant she could help her friends.
When they arrived at the arcade she was hidden inside of him, though he allowed her out when he made sure the street and arcade was empty enough. He didn't want to--or at least, would not--come in with her, but he would be close by in case something went wrong, or his word was needed. Why did he come all this way with her if he wasn't going to...oh well. So, alone, she entered the arcade, her form "covering" her in a long black raincoat and matching boots. The hood and "sleeves" helped to hide her skin color as she approached the desk and frowned at the bored looking person behind the counter. "I...I am here to see a friend...please let me in?"

The clerk at the Arcade had gone back to looking like quite the greasy, irresponsible teenager. He had his feet propped up on the desk, his phone out as he chewed his gum obnoxiously. At first when the man approach the arcade but stayed outside he didn't bat an eye... though the entrance of a small girl did get the boy to lean closer to the counter as she politely asked to come in and see a friend. He just raised an eyebrow, shrugged his shoulders and sat back in his chair.
"It's free to come in kid, you can get tokens at the machine in the back." He indicated with his bored, carefree attitude. No reason for him to assume this girl was here to get into the city. Why would she? She was just some kid after-all, and this was an arcade. There were a few other kids already inside playing various games, so she could very well be here to meet with them? It was literally every day that kids showed up to the arcade anyways with no idea that it was actually an entrance to the underground.
Meanwhile, Thundershock was making his way up through the tunnel as they spoke. He's push the door open to the break room within the arcade, stepping out in relative silence. He had planned to do some... 'errands' and advance their plot to rescue both Meiko and Asahi from the Quirkers prison. As he stepped out of the break room he wouldn't even chance a glance at the kids playing their games, all of them too engrossed with their tasks. He was about to walk by the young girl asking for permission into the arcade as well, having absolutely no idea that she was actually the weird korean brat from the chat.

If there was one thing Goro didn’t understand, it was friendship. Allying yourself with someone for your own benefit, he got. Pretending to get along with someone, to avoid awkward situations, he understood. But actual friendship, camaraderie? It made no sense to him.
Whether or not he understood it though, the fact was that he had it now. Since he’d come to Tokyo, he’d met a few people who he actually gave a shit about. People who’s wellbeing and health mattered to him as much as his own, if not more. Yusaku Izumi. Parasyte. Sato. And Lavende and Crowley.
There were many in the villain chat who pissed him off, but Crowley and Lavende were different. Even when Lavende would tease him, he wouldn’t mind as much. It certainly helped that they’d worked with him and Nick during the Tokyo 5 hijacking, but if that were all there was to it, he wouldn’t be doing what he was right now.
Lavende, Meiko, had been arrested, and while Goro had felt a great loss at the news, he couldn’t imagine how Crowley was feeling. Fuck, the two had been planning their wedding; one of the only things that was bringing Goro joy in the days before the news had broke.
So when the others had made plans to go and try and cheer the poor man up, Goro had decided to chip in. He’d brought some of his best coffee beans with him, and had noted down the location Thundershock had given on his tablet.
An underground city, with an entrance hidden in an arcade. Not exactly what he’d expected of Thundershock. Even in his more casual attire, a neatly-ironed dress shirt and jeans that he still couldn’t stand, Goro looked horribly out of place. He headed for the desk as well, giving a nod to Parasyte who he noticed almost immediately, only for something to draw his attention away from the clerk.
Waaas that Thundershock over there? Goro tried to get his attention with a terse wave, and greeted him. "Excuse me, sir, me and my friend are looking for someone." He kept it brief, as if a stranger talking to a manager, but he assumed Thunder would recognize him enough to know what was truly up.

Thundershock had his hands stuffed in his pockets as he walked out, his darkly colored, furred jacket hanging loosely over his shoulders. If any Pro Hero saw him out there, it was a dead giveaway as to whom he was, a trademark even. He didn't care. Unlike many of the newer villains in the city, he could more than handle himself against a few pros if he was cornered. He's just turn them into the same examples Darkshine became. Examples of failure.
He was stopped from leaving the arcade however as a finely dressed man at the entrance of the arcade spoke to him, rather politely at that. He cocked an eyebrow, an irritated grunt leaving his throat as he was ready to look down on whoever this daredevil thought he was. However, on closer inspection he recognized him for a man he had hired twice before. Once to rescue his son, and another time to try and kill him. Goro, or Blackout Rogue Devil... heh, what a name.
"So, you actually came hunh?" He asked with a more relaxed look to his features now as he looked from Goro to the smaller girl beside him. He tilted his head a bit and then leaned towards her as if getting a closer look at her, a devious smirk appearing on his lips before he would speak again.
"You decided to bring your girlfriend with you? Didn't know you liked them so small~" he teased him, not yet knowing that this was parasyte. Not that it mattered, he would of teased Goro regardless. he straightened back up after getting a good look at the girl and then letting a small sigh escape his lips.
"Well, seeing as neither of you have been there before, I best escort you. Can't have the two of you getting lost, at least, not you." he said with a small motion of his head towards Goro. he would take a step back and twist so that he was walking back towards the breakroom he had first come out of. It was annoying, delaying his plans by a little bit... but he supposed that wasn't the worst thing this day could have brought.
If the two followed, then Thundershock would lead them to the secret room, and soon down the tunnel that would lead them to the underground city. Unlike the damp, dreary place they were most likely expecting, the city was quite vibrant. Lights affixed to the stone ceiling as well as fans and other sorts of machinery that kept the air circulating and comfortable. the buildings looked like miniature skyscrappers, with some of them just barely grazing the top of the stone. There were single houses scattered about what could be seen as the outskirts of the city, and at the very north, there was Thunders very visible mansion that was secluded away from the hubbub.
"Welcome to Kabuchiko's Underground" He'd state briefly, guiding them towards the home he had given to Crowley, closest to his own mansion.

Byeol-Su blinked twice as the person at the counter dismissed her. Had she said something wrong? Thunder had told them that the person at the front desk would lead them into the underground, but had he specified what the right thing to say was? Had she forgotten? Did she have to spell it out or was that the wrong thing to do, too? Or had she said the right thing, but because she was so small, the person didn't think she meant what she'd said. Either way, a frustrated pout pursed her lips together. "No! Listen! My friends are not in arcade, I do not care about them! I need to go in!"
She heard footsteps pass her and paid them no mind, but when a familiar voice spoke up from behind her she looked up, eyes wide, and her frown split into a grin just a little too wide to look natural on her face. Black hair, neat clothing, glasses, and--of course--very recognizable bat's wings. There really was no mistaking who he was. "Rogue! You are here! I knew you would come!" Her hands clapped together with a wet 'splrt' sound, before she noticed Goro's attention was on another person. Byeol-Su tilted her head at them as they came over, greeted Goro, then looked at her. He looked a little familiar, but not in the way Goro did. More in the vein of "we've seen your mug shot online a hundred times". So he must be...
...then he said something that made her face scrunch up in disgust.
Yep, this had to be Thunder Shock.
"That would be pedophilia, Thunder! Gross! Rogue is my friend, not...ew!" She snipped back, sticking her tongue up at Japan's number one criminal like an intelligent person would do. He started walking and she followed, glancing up at Goro so he could see the sour look on her face before she muttered very, very quietly--so quietly that perhaps only one with special hearing would catch it. "He is just as bad online. Do not know why I expected different. Um. Do not take offense, though? You are not gross."
She was, thankfully, quickly distracted from that spectacular first meeting by the sight of the underground. Byeol-Su let out another gasp and started to bounce with every step, absolute wonder alight in her eyes. It wasn't like anything she had seen before, like anywhere she had been before. A city hidden beneath a city, crafted meticulously to mimic the world above, only as a safe haven for those like them who were on less-than-great terms with legality. Her distaste vanished in an instant. "Did you make this?? Or your family?? It is amazing! Like some place from a book! Are there shops down here? How many of these," she pointed at the buildings, "Have people living in them? Oh, wish Friend could see! They will be so jealous!"
Byeol-Su let out a delightful peal of laughter and spun around, taking in the underground in all its glory. For a moment, everything bad was put aside.
It wouldn't last, but it was wonderful enough to try to enjoy it while it did.

Well, at least he had the right man. Unfortunately, Goro had forgotten just how unbearable Thunder was to speak to. It’d only been a minute and he was already making incredibly inappropriate comments veiled as jokes.
Before he replied, Parasyte had jabbed back already. “She’s right, what the fuck is wrong with you?” Goro complained, following with a muttered, “I’m not the one making sexual comments to minors…”
The condescending attitude Thunder took to him after that felt almost as if the number one villain thought he was speaking to two kids, rather than a teenager and a fully grown adult. Goro kept his mouth shut, but gritted his teeth in annoyance and followed.
He heard what Parasyte whispered to him as they walked, and while he didn’t reply, he nodded back to her as if to say he got the message and he didn’t take offence. She wasn’t the weird, gross one here.
At least there was one good thing to come out of this visit so far. The fluorescence of the lights hanging above irritated Goro’s eyes like nothing else, but the rest of the city was frankly breathtaking. He’d heard of its existence, of course, but had never seen so much as a picture. Goro would’ve never thought it’d be possible for something so huge to be built under the city without someone noticing, but it seemed the power of the Yakuza extended far, far further than he’d ever imagined.
Parasyte’s joyous cries didn’t not hurt his ears, but it would be rude and frankly unfair to yell at her for it. She’s still a child, they should be allowed a sense of wonder while they’re still capable of it, before the world finishes corrupting and suffocating it. In contrast, Goro merely looked over to Thunder and gave him a short nod. “So, did the city exist before you, or were you responsible for this wonder?”
When Thunder moved on, and began guiding them to Crowley’s current dwelling, Goro joined him immediately. They were there for a reason, and there was no use in delaying the visit.

Now the Kobayashi underground city was a very beautiful place indeed. Truly an impressive display. It was a shame that with how upset he was, Alaster could not see that. He just did not care at all. The only beautiful thing he did care about was the poor angel that was currently locked away. Poor Meiko! Why was fate so cruel to him? Why was it so determined to keep his life miserable? What did he ever do in a past life to deserve this?
Alaster grit his teeth. Not just in frustration that Meiko was imprisoned. Not just because he was pissed off beyond words that Witch Doctor got to be all happy while he and Meiko suffered. And not just because punching the wall earlier still hurt like a bitch and he was actually bleeding now. It was because he just could not do anything. Like a bird in a cage, he was trapped here. Sure, he was safe, but he was also not actually doing anything. Alaster wanted to be out there fighting. He wanted to break down every building in Japan, rip apart every fool who got in his way, until Meiko was safely back in his arms. But he could do nothing right now. Not without risking being trapped in a far worse cage.
I'm weak! I need more power! The power to destroy every obstacle in my way! The power to free Meiko, kill Bitch Doctor, and annihilate everyone who tries to stop me! But no! I have to do absolutely nothing! I hate that I have to hide! Crowley is no coward!
Getting up, Alaster walked over to the spot on the wall that he had punched earlier. In frustration, he punched it again, much harder now. There was now a small stain of blood to accompany the dent in the wall. Now the pain was even worse. And the best part? That was the moment the door opened. So the unexpected visitors would walk in and the first thing they would see is an agitated Alaster wincing in pain from having punched the wall too hard.
Great, I can't believe I forgot to lock the bloody door. Sighing, Alaster sat back down on the couch, not yet paying attention to who the ones coming in now were. Alaster just sighed and addressed the group in a tone that did not even bother trying to hide the sheer frustration and misery he felt. All without even looking at them.

Thundershock just laughed, shrugging his shoulders whenever the smaller girl protested his jest. It was right then and there that he realised just who she was, the little Parasyte from the villain chat. He hadn’t met her in person before, so it was no wonder that he hadn’t recognized her… but something in the way she spoke, the way she reacted, just confirmed her identity to him.
“Hey now, have you seen teenagers now a days? Half of them look like they could be in grade school, who am I to judge another man’s fetish? You easily could have been an 18 year old woman with a taste for dressing in high school uniforms. Hell, you wouldn’t have been the first one I met, little Parasyte.” He continued to both tease, and defend his words as even Goro now spoke up to ask him what the hell was wrong with him. He just gave a shrug of his shoulders, his smirk never leaving his face as they continued about their business, regardless of the inappropriate commentary he had made.
He had guided the pair down into the underground city, feeling the distaste the two held for him as clearly as if they were pouring ice down his spine. That all went away however as the two stepped out, overlooking the large, glimmering underground city. It was definitely a prettier sight to behold from afar. If they would be smack in the city though, well not all areas were ‘safe’ so to say.
Thundershock would just place his hands in his pockets as he led the two away from the larger part of the city and towards the homes that could be seen closer to his mansion. All of these homes seemed much more upscale than the apartment complex’s they could see within the city itself. As they walked, that’s when he would turn his head slightly to answer the pair.
“The area itself was created in my grandfathers time by a massive underground sinkhole caused by the old sewers collapsing. He and the older generation of the clan took it upon themselves to claim this space and repurpose it. The city itself was built during my fathers rule, and this expansion, the homes and mansions, were built during mine. There are quite a few shops now actually, a safer way for people here to do buiness. Safe to say I’ve organized these guys a lot better than my predecessors ever could, as they only bothered to keep those who were a part of the clan here. This place… I’ve opened it up to any criminal or villain that needs shelter, even if only temporarily.” Another shift of his gaze back towards Goro revealed a slight snicker as he spoke his next words.
“This place is why no one can find Nick, or Crowley.” Thundershock boasted as they would soon find their way to one of the larger home seated at the base of Thunders mansion. He would walk up knock on the door and easily make his way inside, not bothering to wait for a response from the person inside.
“Now now, is that any way to greet your friends, Crowley?”

"Do not need to know the type of women you sex with, Thunder. Thanks."
Byeol-Su grimaced at the idea of Thunder knowing multiple full-grown girls who liked to wear school uniforms for some reason. Oracle wasn't one of those, was she? That would be weird, and Oracle was already weird enough without that mental image. Why would he even want them to wear a uniform on a date? Or whatever it was people did to do that 'sex'. She was still a little unclear on that part--she knew it made babies, though, so...
Whatever.
That subject could stay "whatever" for the rest of the night, she was much more interested in the underground and Crowley than anything else. Even if Thunder hadn't been the one to make this place, he was still the man in charge. A haven for criminals and villains. It was too bad they couldn't all stay down here for safety's sake; too many of them would draw attention, and there were just a couple of villains she could think of whom didn't do so good in groups of people, even like-minded people. There was enough in-fighting among them without everyone living under the same "roof", so to say. But the fact was neither she not Rogue were in need of shelter, they were just here to visit, and now they knew where this secret city was kept.
He either trusted them, or didn't think they were enough of a threat to have to keep the entrance a secret. Probably the second. Not that she had any reason to abuse this city or hurt any of its denizens--quite the opposite! But it was definitely something he would want to know about. She had to share.
He'd always liked a well-kept secret.
"Abbadon is here? Really?" Byeol-Su spoke more off-hand than actually interested in the man in question. "Are all of your children here, Thunder?"
I didn't think this city was big enough for that mess...
The excitement and charm wore off very quickly as Thunder opened the door to a rather nice house. She hadn't been sure what to expect, not even sure whose home they had entered, but the sight of a person with white hair and bloodied knuckles wasn't quite what she'd anticipated. This was Crowley! Thunder addressed him as such, so it had to be him! She'd kind of expected the person who used crows and who was so fond of crows to have black hair. Not that that was important. What was important was--
"Crowley?! You are bleeding!" Byeol-Su gasped, and stepped in faster with a terrible lack of foresight. She tried to reach for the injured hand with her own. The draw of blood, the pull of another's life, was instinct, but she was trained enough to not be sucked in without intent. She wouldn't dare. All she did was try to cradle his hand to look at the injury. Then she glanced at the wall. This...was this self-inflicted...? What? "C-Crow, wh...why are you hurting self? Why?? Lavender would be so angry to see you bleeding!"
Not that she can stop you.
She felt a burning behind her eyes and rubbed at them with the back of her hands. Tears couldn't fall from her eyes; her body didn't create them, like it didn't create blood. But the flesh around her eyes grew less structurally sound--or as sound as it usually was--and dripped faster down her cheeks, like a mockery of actual tears streaming down her face. She kept rubbing them until they blended back into her so she could look at Crowley again.
"Do...do not do that...or she will b-be mad at you for hurting your self...!"

Goro just ignored the rest of Parasyte and Thunder’s argument, not wanting to dignify any of it with a response. If he replied again, Thunder would almost surely take the chance to keep needling him about it, keep making horrible jokes about schoolgirls or whatever the hell he was talking about now. He looked away, a small scowl on his face, and adjusted his glasses.
Made sense that it wasn’t Thunder who’d built it first. As he’d thought, an area this size took generations to build out, to expand to the point of hospitality. After the prison break, it only made sense that Nick would need to lay low in here, but Goro couldn’t imagine a time where he’d need to. He wasn’t so foolish as to allow his true identity to be exposed to the world at large; sure, there was a risk of it with Eisenberg, but Goro was confident enough he wouldn’t need to hide down here anytime ever.
Thunder knocked on the door, only to open it without even waiting for Crowley’s response. And, seeing and hearing what’d happened inside, it occured to Goro that had they waited, they would’ve done so for a long time. After all, the man in front of them didn’t look like he wanted visitors.
ParaSyte, of course, immediately freaked out at the sight of Crowley’s busted hand, and rushed over to him, cradling his hand. Goro stepped through the doorway and took a few steps into the room, but chose to give Crowley his space.
“ParaSyte is right, Crowley. This is far from what Lavender would want. I miss her, I’m sure we all do.” Goro spoke clearly but in the same bland tone he usually tried to maintain. The contrast must’ve hindered any chance to convince Crowley. “But you aren’t going to help anyone by inflicting this sort of thing on yourself.”

Alaster had to resist the urge to roll his eyes upon hearing Thunder's words. Friends? Yeah right. As if anyone outside of Meiko genuinely cared about him. He had seen enough human behavior to know that people only pretended to care about those who proved useful to them. Humans were selfish pieces of trash who would immediately discard anyone who no longer served a useful purpose. Was there anyone who was any different? As far as Alaster was concerned, this was a world where one was either using others or being used. Friendship, real genuine friendship, was not real. Alliances, partnerships, those were not to be mistaken with friendship. Alaster had no friends.
Okay, maybe there were those select few that in a happier life Alaster would definitely consider friends. And he supposed that in such a life, these three people here would be among the select few that were closest to that. But this was not that ideal life. Alaster could not fathom how or why these three came for him for any reason outside of the fact that he was a dangerous criminal who had not yet proven to be worthless, or worse, a liability. With how upset he was, he just could not see it, could not think straight enough to see that not everything was how he presumed it to be.
He then heard the young girl speak, coming over to see the bleeding hand. Normally, anyone who came this close to him and wasn't named Meiko Hagane would be wondering why their neck was suddenly dripping with blood. But Alaster just didn't care. Byeol-Su could look at his hand, feel the blood coming out, do literally whatever, and Alaster just would not care.
But then she spoke, saying how Lavender would be angry to see him bleeding, mad at him for hurting himself. Alaster half-sighed, half-scoffed. If Meiko was angry at him for any reason, it would not be because he hurt himself. It would be because he hadn't rescued her yet. The poor angel was trapped in prison, and he could not do anything about it at the moment. Does she miss me? Is she upset that I haven't come for her yet? Alaster did not notice Byeol-Su's 'tears' or her wiping her face.
Then it was the bat man's turn. Once again, Alaster sighed, barely registering what Goro was saying. 'I miss her. I'm sure we all do.' Please, that pales in comparison to how I feel. Meiko is his life. She was the one who gave him purpose. It was obvious that no one would be able to fathom just how miserable and useless Alaster felt without Meiko by his side. Still, he did somewhat appreciate the sentiment, giving the tiniest, very easily missable thing that could maybe be considered a smile, or at least the temporary lack of a frown.
As soon as Goro finished, Alaster sighed as he retorted, not even bothering to look at the man, or anyone for that matter. "And I'm not exactly able to do anything to help her by sitting here doing nothing, now am I? So what does it matter if I hurt myself? It's my own fault for being too weak to go out and save her anyway. If I were stronger, I would be able to rip apart everything keeping me from my love."
Alaster got up, walking over to the spot where he had punched the wall. However, he did not do so again. Instead, he just stood there looking at that tiny dent. "Pathetic." He then sighed once more. "Back in that warehouse all those months ago. That kidnapping thing." Perhaps Byeol-Su and Goro would not understand what he was talking about, but Thunder would. "That bitch was there. I could have easily shot her. But no, I thought that she posed no threat, that she was just another worthless human life trying to help that G prick. Oh, if only I knew then. If only I had ended that Bitch Doctor's life back then. Then my angel would be with me and not behind bars." Alaster shook his head. "My blunder did this. It's my fault."
Unless someone chose to try to stop him, Alaster would once again punch the wall, even harder this time and making the bleeding even worse. Naturally he would swear angrily as he did so. Or he would just sigh and go back to the couch if someone did stop him from hurting himself further. Either way, Alaster would at least try to calm down, taking several deep breaths until his urge to rip apart everything his eyes looked at subsided. Finally, he looked at the trio, actually looked at them with eyes that were not in their usual squint. They would be able to see the despair and frustration in his cold grey eyes.
"Why did you even come to see me? Surely you all must have something better to do with your time?" Alaster just could not understand. He was a weak failure. He could not save Meiko. He could not kill Witch Doctor with his current lack of strength. He was forced to do nothing but hide from the heroes and cops who were after him. Why would anyone want to go out of their way to visit him of all people? In Alaster's mind, he was not worth it. So why? He did not get it. |

Oh, poor poor Crowley, he was hurting so very much inside and out. Byeol-Su wanted to do more to help but he withdrew from her without a word, only to bite back at Rogue's words instead. Rogue had just been trying to help, too! He shouldn't hurt himself! He might not have cared and he might have blamed himself for it, but would Lavender do such a thing? Absolutely not!
In truth, she had no idea whether or not Lavender would blame Crowley for her arrest or be mad if Crowley hurt himself while grieving. She only knew the woman from the chat, and while she did like her, their conversations were limited. She only knew how much the two of them loved on another, and that they both had said they liked her, too. And people who loved one another didn't want the other to be hurt, and would never blame the other for something out of their control...that was how loving someone worked.
Wasn't it?
Byeol-Su hovered behind Alaster as he discussed the kidnapping--she only vaguely knew what he was talking about, but nothing of the details--and her worry only deepened. Ah...that was why he was blaming himself so much.
"You could not have know this would happen! Is not you mistake, is--No!!"
She cried out as his hand reeled back to indent the wall and break his skin all the more, and she acted on pure instinct. She reached her hand out to grab his injured hand, but from where she stood she shouldn't have been able to do so. Yet she did. Her arm extended far farther than it physically seemed able to, the flesh of it becoming far more fluid as it stretched past its limits. Her fingers wrapped around Alaster's own once again and, this time, when she felt the pull, she didn't resist it. She let herself go inside.
She didn't like to do this without permission but he was hurting himself, and he wasn't listening, and dammit to hell she wasn't going to let him do that!!
Like she were being pulled in by an invisible straw her entire body lost its form and color and was sucked up through her impossibly long arm into the open wound on Alaster's hand until there was nothing of her left. He would feel a chill go over him--slightly nauseating, like cold clay had coated all of his insides from his bones to his organs to his blood--but it would pass in a few second. The bleeding on his knuckles suddenly stopped, as did any pain from them, and the cuts and scrapes began to stitch themselves shut.
Though she had not yet formed a mouth to speak, she wasn't bothering to close the bond between them that let her feelings slip into his own mind, into his own heart. He'd know, somehow, that they weren't his emotions, but he would feel them all the same. Loss. Heart-break. Worry. Care.
Love. Child-like yet unconditional love.
Please don't hurt yourself. Please don't feel alone. We care about you. We don't want to see you sad. I care about you! I love you! Please...

"If hurting yourself is your answer, then you really are weak." Thundershock stated bluntly, crossing his arms as he leaned against the wall, watching Crowley injure himself yet again. He wasn't one for emotional pep talks, hell the man himself could most likely use a few... dozen, of them. Still... he might not be the most emotional person but there were at least a few words he could say to Crowley.
"What good are you to her with a broken body, hm? You're only weakening yourself, and sabotaging any chance you had at helping her escape. You can't dwell on the past, you learn from it and move forward. If you want her free, then you're going to have to work harder than you've ever had before. I offered you shelter not as a place you could go to wallow in self pity, but a place yo u could recover, better yourself and free her without the constant interruptions of the world above. If you chose to sully that gift this way, then so be it. I won't help rescue her, if you can't muster the strength to be there yourself." He stated coldly, pushing himself off the wall and heading back towards the front door to leave. had this been anyone else showing such weakness, anyone from his clan, he may have killed them where they stood. He had no need for such weakness, no need for those that didn't believe in themselves or their strength. Perhaps leaving, was the greatest mercy he could show Crowley just then.

Alaster could not stand the futility of the situation he had found himself in. What the bloody hell was he supposed to do? Stay here and do nothing productive while his beloved undoubtedly suffered in her confinement? Go out there to search in vain for Meiko, not even knowing where to look? Murder as many fools as he could before someone stopped him? It seemed as though no matter what Alaster did or didn't do, nothing was helping him get closer to finding and rescuing Meiko. At this point, Alaster almost found himself agreeing with Thunder's words, or at least the parts that stung harshly. He really was weak...
But then something unexpected happened. Just as he was about to smash the wall with his fist yet again, Alaster saw his hand being stopped by another. Now normally, anyone who dared to touch him would incur his wrath. But not this time. Because this time, Alaster noticed that it was Byeol-Su's hand and... then noticed just how long her arm stretched out. "What?" Was this the girl's quirk?
If seeing the girl's arm stretch an impossibly long distance was not enough of a shock already, what happened next just made Alaster's already surprised expression into one of shock. "What the hell?!" The girl was literally being pulled inside his injured hand, completely disappearing from view. Now with her alias being ParaSyte, Alaster pretty much figured that her quirk had something to do with entering the bodies of others, though from what the girl had typed in Villain Chat in the past, this was more of a symbiotic thing rather than parasitic. But reading about something was not the same thing as actually experiencing it.
"What...?" Alaster raised up his hand in surprise. The bleeding not only stopped, but the wound itself had closed. There wasn't even any pain! Besides that brief chilly feeling that had quickly subsided, Alaster felt... okay? This was far too bizarre. Oh, but it would not stop there. Suddenly, Alaster's mind was being flooded with emotions. Ones that weren't even his. Ones that he had either never felt before, had long since forgotten even existed, or only ever experienced whenever it involved Meiko. Just what the hell kind of quirk is this?!
Alaster remained frozen in place, expressionless as he felt what Byeol-Su was feeling. If there was ever a moment that proved without a shadow of a doubt that actions spoke louder than words, this was it. While everyone's words were barely registering to Alaster before, now the message was crystal clear. He understood now. He understood what the others were saying. The misery and angered that had clouded his mind had all but completely subsided.
But now he felt something new. Something that no one but Meiko would have had the power to bring out in him. Remorse? It was strange. Alaster never thought of himself ever really caring about others, how others felt, or if his actions hurts others. But after feeling Byeol-Su's thoughts, Alaster was surprised that he actually felt bad for making her worry about him. He was surprised that he could even feel anything at all. So the bloodthirsty demon does have a heart after all, and one not just reserved for Meiko. He supposed that it was the small attachment he had for the people in Villain Chat. At east the ones that weren't bloody morons.
"Okay." Alaster raised up his formerly injured hand, as though speaking to it. He assumed that the girl would be able to hear him or something. How did that quirk of hers work exactly? It was something that made him curious now. "I understand. I'm sorry for making you worry. I had no idea. But it's okay. I'm done with the self-harm. I'm done with the self-pity. And I'm done playing the fool. You don't need to worry about me anymore. I'm fine. Thank you, ParaSyte."
He then looked at Thunder. The man's words were true. Alaster was not doing anyone a favor by just staying here doing nothing but hurting himself in frustration. But what could he do? Even with Byeol-Su clearing his mind, Alaster still lacked an answer for what to do. He wasn't like Thunder who had his Kobayashi to boss around. It was not like Alaster had a gang of his own to lord around and...
...and...
GOD, I'M A BLOODY MORON!!
With his earlier mood, Alaster had been blinded. He failed to see the entire board. But with his mind being clear now, he could now see moves that he could not see before. It was so simple! It was right in my face this whole time, and I've been too busy brooding to even notice! He used to be a part of a gang back in England. He could simply contact them and ask for assistance. The sounds of an ingenious plan being made began to whirl throughout his head. I'll just make my own gang! If I can't do anything myself right now, then I'll just have others do it for me! That way, I can stay under the radar and also be able to get things done! It's brilliant!
With the way Alaster began to smile, it was clear that he was back to his usual self. "Thunder, I won't stop you if you're going to leave. But first, I want to thank you for the hospitality. Words cannot express how grateful I am for what you've done for me. I'll be sure to repay you someday. But rest assured, I'm not weak. I'm not squandering your generosity. And I'm not just going to sit here and let Meiko suffer. No, I will get stronger. Strong enough to crush everything that stands before me. I'll devise a plan. One to not only get my love out of prison, but to also deal with any idiot heroes who come trying to stop me. I'm done hiding! I'm done venting! I'm fighting now, and even if all of Japan's law enforcement come try to stop me, I will make it very clear that I won't go down so easily!"
Crowley was back. And it would soon be time to make that fact known to everyone. |
