When Hayate went to check on Nimue-sensei it seemed she was alright, though she was still a little unsteady and used Hayate and the tree for support. After Hayate tried to tell them his plan of action, Graham instead decided to attack the bear "No Graham that just going to make it even madder and make things worse!" he called out louder than Nimue-sensei had tried to but he was too late and Graham attacked the bear which, exactly as Hayate and surely Nimue-sensei, had predicted would happen only made the bear angrier which caused it to send out another wind attack towards Nimue-sensei, throwing her against the tree again and causing another knock to the head. He quickly approached Nimue and went to pick her up to carry her if she would allow him, an easy feat given his higher than average strength, it may not have been completely necessary since she was conscious and could still stand but surely multiple blows to the head would have her feeling at least a little rattled and dazed so this would make escape quicker and easier especially considering she . But Shizume seemed to now want to created a bunch of noise to distract and confuse it If we'd just followed through with my first plan we'd be out of here by now Hayate thought to himself frustrated "Guys the bear's already webbed up and is having trouble finding us and now it's just even more pissed than it was before, instead of making it worse let's just get out of here, we don't need to fight it!" he called out to the rest of the group a little more forceful than he was before hoping that they'll listen to him this time. He then looked at Nimue-sensei "We should probably meet up with another one of the teachers, so which way should we head to ensure we run into one of them?" he asked her hoping that she'd know
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TLDR -Shouted to Graham not to attack but was too late -Attempted to carry Nimue if she allowed it -Once again attempted to convince the group to make a retreat instead of facing the bear head on
Everyone just wanted to run away, it would seem. Ahh, you couldn't trust these sorts of people with anything if you wanted it done right, could you? Miss Nimue was still in the same spot, not getting up in the slightest and seemingly incapable of doing so, while the bear continued to wail on her- hold on, she wasn't being hit. Graham's brow continued to furrow at the realization that they were fighting a bear with a quirk. And they'd rather have that almost inevitably chasing after them than have it dead? A bunch of good-for-nothing hippies, the whole lot of them.
"And have a ludicrously dangerous bear rampaging through the woods the rest of the trip?!" he responded to Hayate's repeated call for retreat. Whatever it was they were thinking, it was certainly some pacifist nonsense Graham wouldn't stand for. If they wished to solve their problems they should roll up their sleeves and deal with them! Not a very convincing line from someone of his background, surely, but that didn't invalidate the point. As such, he'd do it himself. The blue-haired lass was doing some sort of sound trickery again, though he didn't concern himself with it.
He'd do it himself, if no one else here had the gall to even try anything more than shoot some weak-willed webbing. Talking wouldn't do any good, if anything he'd only be met with more weak-willed excuses. Taking a few steps closer to get a more proper view, he'd begin to move the knife floating around the bear once more. While it was used as a blunt instrument moments earlier, that'd no longer be necessary, and as such the sheath covering the blade flew off. This would leave the blade exposed and deadly, for Graham to quickly and concisely had it attempt to slice the beast across the neck a moment after the sound cascade the others were hoping to produce, trying to catch it in a moment of surprise or weakness or anything like that.
It was rare for Graham to be upset, let alone angry, but this scenario had managed to make him properly worked up, quite visible in his tensed up stature and face. Any consequences of this action beyond potentially mortally harming the animal hadn't come into his mind too much, though if there was one thing he was absolutely certain of, it was that this was in the interest of them all.
Post by Nimue Nakahara on Oct 19, 2019 15:27:18 GMT -4
Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse Her head was throbbing so badly and surely she wasn't even aware if she saw double or not, it was even hard to open both her eyes, she needed to get Nkosi to do her work but at this point she wasn't sure if that was smart, in case she had to defend the students, she would have to wait with swapping. She was so glad that Hayate told Graham no, she still had not found her voice and she was glad that the spider student was making sure she was okay. She was glad he helped her up, it might be a bit embarrassing but with the second bump against the back of her head it would have to do, "I will call Igarashi-sensei, but please, stop him." She told the young boy as she got moved a little more away from the bear.
She did notice from now where she stood, leaning against a tree where Hayate dropped her that the bear had managed to get the webbing away but that Shizume and the sounds she used had made it a little hesitant. But it wasn't enough to convince Graham and she had to get stronger to speak very strictly to the boy, this was for god sake not a Biology class but she was hallelujah the biology teacher. She hoped Hayate would be able to do something but it was ridiculous to leave everything to the boy and to the two girls that seemed to scare it, that was until it got attacked again.
But they were too late, the bear fell from his hind legs back on all fours, very much bleeding from the slash that the blade Graham must have given it. It whined and tried to turn around but too much movement gave in to the too much blood loss and Nimue had to admit that she wasn't that big on animals when it came to biology, she was more interested in the nature part, the flora instead of the fauna but they belonged here. She, albeit unstable, rushed down to where the bear was and stared at Graham. "You-you- don't you get it? If someone breaks into your house, are you going to wait for it to leave politely? This bear can't tell us to go, it will only do what it can, scare us away." She did not get it, surely it was maybe a sort of fear but this wasn't the solution that they had to think about, maybe it was that Hayate and Kumoko got it better with their potential animal instict but she felt bad for the creature and hunched down. Yes, the animal was still deadly but it also seemed to be deadly afraid. She would talk to Graham later, she would have to figure something out.
Can we do it? I don't know sithandwa sam, we never did before and we have to think of you and the children.
Nimue looked over her shoulder at the others and shortly at Hayate before crouching down a little closer, "Don't be afraid," She whispered, extending her hand, her eyes turning green and she tried, she got a slash, for sure, it was only her arm but the warm feeling of blood trickled off her arm to her jeans but there was another sense, it was in her fingers, touching the bear worked exactly the same. It seemed to notice itself that the pain must have stopped and looked at them, no longer growling, just laying still and waiting.
Nimue herself felt rather dizzy and had only eyes for what she was doing, the four potential death bringers near her and did miss that a little bit further away, at the end of the clearing, two little brown creatures were coming as well, they looked curiously and sat themselves there, the bear growled at them but the little ones only took a few steps back before coming closer again.
Shizume Stradivarius
Hibiki the Demon Bard Class 1-B Beatbox Word Count/Total: 379/1235
Shizume absolutely could not fully grasp what just happened. One moment she was preparing to scare the bear away from them with sound sounds of a hundred people. Then she saw….it. A sharp note of black. A strange undulation of brown and grey chords. A thudding green from below. But more than that was the splash of red that came from the bear’s neck. This wasn’t a hallucinatory color she normally saw with her chromastasia. No, this was blood spray. A sight that would haunt Shizume for some time after this.
She could only sit there in shock as Nakahara-sensei walked over and started to heal the creature that was just terrorizing them. After her eyes filled with tears, Shizume saw a small blue wave come from her right side. Looking over, she saw two baby bears approaching, terrified. This could be their mama. How horrible. To herself she was apologizing to the baby bears in Italian. Graham didn’t seem upset at all. It was his blade that brought this to them.
"And have a ludicrously dangerous bear rampaging through the woods the rest of the trip?!"
To Shizume and the bear right now, there was only one ludicrously dangerous creature in the woods right now. The Italian violinist dusted herself off and walked right over to look at the curt posh boy. Her hands clenching at her sides. “I am going to be sharper than your knives. We are heroes, we do not take lives.” She looked like she wanted to slap him, but she just curtly turned away and slowly walked over to their teacher. Though she wanted to ask how she could help, she did not want to interrupt. Thinking back to when she met Aspro, she would thumb through her mp3 player and found the William Tell Overture. She removed her ear buds and let them dangle from the neck. After cupping them in her hand, she hit play. The most famous Morning song of all time would come out softly. Volume and clarity improved for the others around them. She would sit nearby and just do the one thing she knew. Music. Music soothed the savage beast, right? Maybe it would sooth Graham. In a way, it was also helping Shizume keep herself together.
Post by Iida Katsumi on Oct 23, 2019 12:12:48 GMT -4
Katsumi watched as the other members of the group tried to justify their decision on their course of action. If they weren’t doing that, they were just doing their chosen course of action. Rocks in her hand had been discarded with an unceremonious drop as she began to gather her belongings and start moving closer to a better position. While doing so would be risky for her, she had judged that any further damage to the teacher would negatively affect their morale. So she did the one thing she could think of. She slowly approached the teacher and without any words she used herself as a support for her. “Lean on me, teacher.”
She turned to face the rest of the group. “We are moving. Our priority right now is the safety of the instructor, her well being, and our own.” She announced. “No sudden movements, no hostile movements, no sudden hostile movements. If you have to intervene, do so in a way that would only defend.” She declared with a monotone. “We are moving out of the area, gather your things and slowly back away.” She looked at the teacher. “Are you okay with moving teacher? Do you need to be carried?”
Post by Kumoko Joro on Oct 24, 2019 19:03:05 GMT -4
Kumoko listened as Hayate suggested to everyone to retreat. Kumoko really wanted to do just that. She did not want to fight at all, especially not a bear. But she did not just want to employ the Jorō Family Secret Technique without making sure everyone else was safely out of harm's way. She just wanted to restrain the bear enough to help make sure everyone got away safely. She wanted it to leave everyone alone. But that did not mean that she wanted the bear to get hurt. Kumoko was not one who wanted any animal getting hurt.
But then she heard Graham's response to Hayate. The guy did have a point. It was dangerous to let a bear, especially one with a quirk it wasn't afraid to use, roam around and potentially harm someone. But then again, what if it wasn't dangerous? What if, for instance, the bear was a mama bear who was only trying to defend her cubs, thinking that the students were somehow going to threaten them? Kumoko did not know what to think. She just wanted everyone safe and unharmed. And in all honesty, that included the bear.
But it was clear that that wasn't happening. Kumoko watched in shock, seeing what Graham was doing to the bear. Oh gosh! The poor bear! Seeing the blood made Kumoko freeze in shock. The poor thing! She could not exactly fault Graham, however. He was just looking out for the students and Nimue, making sure that they were all safe. But still. Was this really necessary? Wouldn't binding and restraining the bear until everyone was a safe distance away have sufficed? But what if Graham didn't do so? What if the bear did find someone else and ended up harming them instead? Kumoko did not know what to think anymore. She was just doing her best to keep it together.
Kumoko smiled upon seeing Nimue heal the injured bear. But then she noticed them. Two baby bears approaching what must be their mama. The spider girl's six eyes began to water. Oh... oh no! This made Graham's earlier action feel several times worse. But still, it was not like he knew. Kumoko remained frozen in place, unwilling to move or say anything. She did not know what she could do that would be helpful. She felt useless.
But then Shizume began to play an old classic song. That and Katsumi's words snapped Kumoko out of it. She knew that she could not just do nothing. So the girl began to slowly move towards Nimue. Very slowly, as she did not want to startle the bear or cubs. Kumoko was ready to shoot out some web strings in case the bear did decide to attack Nimue. But hopefully, it would not be necessary. In truth, Kumoko did not even want to shoot her webs. She just wanted to stay close to Nimue, avoid any more injuries on either side, and leave the bears be.
I just want us all to get out of here without any more trouble.
When Hayate tried to tell Graham to stop he'd shoot back asking if they should leave a dangerous bear lurking throughout the woods "WE ARE IN IT'S HOME, THE BEAR LIVES HERE AND WE DO NOT!" he'd shout at Graham, Nimue-sensei would then say something along the same lines, as well as Shizume stating that they are heroes and they do not take lives "See, even Nimue-sensei and Shizume-san think we should resolve this non-lethally, not every problem is solved through brute force and violence!" he'd continue shouting at Graham. That's when the two baby bears would appear, with the bear in front of them clearly being their Mama Bear "Look the bear was just defending its children from what it perceived as an intruder, how do you feel about attacking it now?" he'd ask while pointing at the bear cubs Katsumi would then speak up and basically instruct the group that they were leaving "We're leaving now Graham and it's NOT up for debate, we're leaving the bear and its children be and rejoining some of the other teachers, whether you come voluntarily is up to you or not, but I don't think you'd be able to successfully defend yourself against all of us if we decided to bring you by force, so I'd suggest giving into the groups majority decision here," he'd say, he was pretty confident he could take Graham as long as he was able to avoid his weapons, so the group ganging up on him would almost certainly be able to contain him`
Well, the reaction to his action was about what Graham could have expected. A load of ungrateful pansies, undoubtedly. All they'd done was talk about running while standing perfectly still, watching on while their teacher was mauled, he'd done something impactful to keep them all safe! And, pray tell, what was his reward? Whining, by the truckload. This wasn't a bear's bloody house, it was a forest, and the damned animal should mind its own business instead of attacking random passersby. Plenty of room for everyone, wasn't there? If there was any comparison to be made, it'd be the lot of them accidentally wandering onto a hundred-acre property and being promptly shot for the tragic misdeed.
But there wasn't any comparing in the world that would make him feel better about it. In the moments after his attack, his heart had surely sunk to his stomach as his face bleakened and he averted his eyes, not quite comfortable with the sight of the scene he'd caused. Every bit of his mind told him he was correct in his actions, but doing something this serious to a living creature naturally didn't come without a toll.
It seemed a bit heartless, retrospectively, and Graham would wonder why only one of his shoutier cohorts really paid attention to that point. The blue-haired one, rhyming, was the only one not trying to apply needless rhetoric for some reason, instead only pointing out a singular basic fact. Heroes didn't take lives. That was true, and he supposed it should extend to animals all the same. Criminals shouldn't be killed despite attacking people unprovoked. A malevolent bear still wasn't as high on the priority list of saving as a human being, but there was at least a valid point made against his process of thought. Whether this cobalt-haired companion intended to send him so deep into thought or not, the music was an appreciable touch.
A hint of life returned to his visage, as the unbeatable champion of yelling in Graham's face for extended periods of time came to the end of his tirade, seemingly threatening him? The young man couldn't offer anything more than a puzzled stare, trying to figure out just how unreasonable this young moron thought him to be. Insulting, certainly, and an equal part dull. "If you're trying not to solve problems violently, perhaps keep the threats to yourself." His tone wasn't much less vindictive than Hayate's own, though the volume of it was kept to a reasonable level. No use discussing what he'd come to think of his actions now, not only because he'd merely head off on another tangent, but they should be moving. He'd come along, obviously, but not because this dolt told him so. The bear was rendered harmless and Miss Nimue needed imminent medical help. "Well then, time to get ourselves going." The other girl was doing her part in carrying the teacher, the spider and blue-haired one seemed ready to move as well. Off to the meeting spot they were.
Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse She had to do this, she had to fix it, she wouldn't stay here until the minute but boy this made her more tired, it was probably Nkosi worrying that they couldn't, taking more energy and so on. She felt her eyes dropping, her arm hurt a lot. She shouldn't get close to a bear, which was kind of obvious but for now she would first focus on the bear. When it was healed enough she moved slowly backwards without really getting up, she definitely appreciated Kasumi her help for Nimue to stay upright. She wasn't entirely sure what to say to the students at this point, mostly because the concept of what they wanted to do and how they taught were different, she might point it out later in a biology class but at this point that was not the case. She turned to Kasumi to thank her and to Kumoko who showed up at her side too, it was good that they managed to get out. When they took a few steps away, she heard the sound of a snapping twig and she quickly turned to look over her shoulders, was it time to swap to Uphondu or Iwayo? Her eyes were still green as she was trying to heal her own arm, that would be better than walk around in this area with blood on her. Or well the blood freshly dripping from her arm that is.
"Alright, let's start with a clean start, for now, we can talk about it of course, but for now it's our goal to get to one of the other teachers for the obstacle course." She seriously hoped she would keep up with her own instructions, she still felt a little dizzy, ha she wasn't even that weak but the bump against her head was just a pretty downer and the use of her quirk that stressed her out. She quickly counted but yes everyone was here and she ushered them to walk on, keeping the two girls next to her for as long as they wanted so she could walk up the little hike, luckily it wasn't so steep yet. Forget about the drawings for their class, they had enough other things to worry about. It was conflicting, she wanted to tell Hayate before to stop yelling but she wanted that Graham had listened to her, maybe Shizume her strategy had worked, well that was in the past now. The bear that she had just looked at had one look at them before doing the same as Nimue did, ushering the cubs away and getting to the other side of the spot where they fought. There was obviously blood where the bear had laid down, she just walked on, time to go to their official obstacle. She felt that she failed and lifted up her chin and took a deep breath when she was able to walk alone again, she thanked Kasumi for the second time and said she could walk alone and so the group continued.
