Although her sensei gave her words of praise, Elise looked surprisingly somber, instead of a smile she merely nodded her head, her expression remaining neutral. As much as she wanted to believe she had done an excellent job, it didn't feel like that at all. If it had been an excellent job she would have prevented Haruuhi from getting into troubles altogether, perhaps even figured out the right method of approaching this. It made Elise realize something important, that for all her medical knowledge she was lacking something incredibly important when it came to her role as the leader of the disciplinary committee: the ability to perceive the psyche of her fellow students. The lack of understanding the more complex and deeper aspects of her schoolmates their minds made it clear just how inexperienced she was.
Elise paused for a moment, listening to the exchange of her sensei, Haruuhi and G, and once more she tried her utmost to figure out which was the best answer. In an emotional matter like this there might had not been a correct answer, but she could likely perceive the best one. Haruuhi explained the reason for her outburst, and although she sympathized with her, Elise tried to figure out which was the best answer to give. Unlike Kiryu she couldn't just wave off this thought as if she had done nothing wrong, so instead Elise spoke softly.
"Haru-chan, I don't believe that your efforts were those that 'nobody cares for'. The desire to protect your family is one of the purest and most understandable goals one might have. I can understand that entirely after all my father died to protect his family, but there is something you need to understand Haru-chan, and that is something your father-" Her gaze drifted to G as she continued. "Likely understood also in his own way: You are not just a 'person', or a civilian Haru-chan, you are a student at Yuuei Koko, the first prestigious academy for those society labels 'heroes'. It is our duty, and responsibility to uphold ourselves to even higher standards as others, this is especially the case for those who have taken the vows of the disciplinary committee. If we can not uphold ourselves to those standards, then who are we to monitor and guide our fellow students? There would be no trust in the committee..."
She gently raised a hand, trying to rest it on Haruuhi's shoulder. "That doesn't mean I don't understand your feelings, I assure you if it was me she would had been off far worse than that right hook that would make even Darren fume with jealousy at how expertly it was delivered."
With the little jest given with the hint of a tiny smile she turned her gaze back at G. "I believe at this point it is best that the two of you work toward reuniting your family, right? Surely you agree that the way things right now are making your daughter suffer, and I'm certain that the same can be said for you, a shattered family is a sad family, a family belongs together, especially when they care 'this' much about each other."
She took a step away from the duo and her smile faded. "We'll discuss this further later Haru-chan, for now I think you and your father could use some time together, if you'd excuse me sensei, Tetsu likely will be getting restless from my absence~"
