tags here | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Oh please, not from the frying pan into the fire. Her eyes flung shut quickly as she did not want to see, but she had so many questions, where was she? Who was this person and why did he know her name. Please, please be someone she could depend on. She opened her eyes a little, looking shy and afraid for obvious reasons, looking to find answers, to get out of this miserable pain.
Yojin?
Huh? Her eyes looked up, noticing him take off the mask and! Yojin! She opened her mouth to say anything but no words came out. Was this real? Was he really here? But that made no sense, didn't Orlov-sensei say that they should but Yojin was really here. She lifted up her left hand to touch his arm. She should have just pinched herself but she did not think about that."It's really you?" Oh, thank god. Her shoulders dropped, not realizing that she had lifted them up or well... at least one specifically. Tension for now leaving her body a little. Her other shoulder, unfortunately, did not really listen to what her body language or her brain wanted her to do."Oh, Yojin." She felt like crying again, but she said it softly, he was whispering too. Forget rules, forget the whole being polite with names, she was never so glad to see him, to be fair they had not really seen each other often. She... oh boy, she had only just remembered what she had done during that class.
Nice timing, Rowan."Bucket?" Who was... "Oh eh yes, I believe. I mean he-he just gave me a warning and left but-but maybe I don't know, I still don't understand what he wanted." Warned her, it was all so confusing, she better not talk about Nick or maybe she should, Jaegar knew anyway, but not... not the students, not Yojin. Was that man really called Bucket, it made sense if he had a bucket for a head. She nodded when he asked her to trust him, the question to her more was: could he trust her? What if Lady came back?
Yes, she would trust him. She would obviously trust him. Who else but... She wanted to say something but again words did not find a way.
Was he blushing? She felt the heat rise up in her own cheeks because she had no idea why he blushed and well... too many thoughts at one given moment! "My jacket?" She looked down to her stomach to her right shoulder and realized why. She listened to what he said and quickly tore her eyes away from her shoulder even if her jacket was in front of it, her stomach making another summersault, "I don't care about my jacket." She said softly, almost inaudible, "I want to go home." But going home was not a good thing, she shivered, it was so cold here and she wasn't even sure if Bucket would show up again, yes he warned her but what did that mean and why would she care. Yes, she did care, she did not want him to be killed but he was bad.

自由自在 mopeds are faster than snakes. but both are slower than Hachi.
Great. Great!
No Bucket. No getting fisted from behind by a tin-can faced maniac. That was just perfect, Yojin literally couldn’t ask for anything more. Well, actually, he could ask for quite a bit more right now, but there was no point being selfish--freedom from impending murder was just fine.
You know, unless he’s being tricky. Like any self-respecting out-of-season Halloween slasher would be.
Yojin grimaced, trying to tell his brain to shut up with the worst case scenarios. Better to focus on other things. Like how to explain all of this shit to Rowan.
“Yeah. I’m--pretty sure it’s me. Er. I don’t know, I feel like I’d be a weird choice for a hallucination.” He muttered, daring to raise his voice above a whisper for the first time since his arrival. “I--um--funny running into you here, right?”
Are you actually going to try to brush this off as random chance? That’s dumb. Even for me.
“I’m just going to--” Yojin began, waving at her jacket helpfully with his knife. “...Get that off. Definitely. Not stab you.”
He was really starting to regret taking the welding mask off. Man, this whole rescue--vigilante--business involved way more talking than he’d planned.
His hands were shaking a little. Yojin bit down on his lip--god he was bad with people sometimes.
Focus on the job. Nothing more.
After a second, his hands stilled, and he reached out, very, very gently, helping lift Rowan until she could sit up straight. Then, with equal care, he slid the blade of the knife under the back of the jacket, and started a vertical slice, so when he was done, he could simply pull the sleeve straight off without moving her shoulder or arm.
“I’m pretty sure Orlov-Sensei’s on the way.” Yojin remarked, tone less awkward, but a little more distant now that he had a task to focus on. It made it easier to collect his thoughts. “And...I’m not super hot on being caught here. School lockdown, you know. I was at work, but--”
There’s still going to be a lot of questions I don’t have good answers for.
“How did it ha--” Yojin jerked his hand back as a shiver went through Rowan’s torso. “Shit. Careful!”
“Are you cold? Does your quirk let you get cold?” He asked, carefully returning to the task of cutting. The knife popped through the collar with a bit of sawing. “You can borrow my sweatshirt in a second, I guess--I’m gonna need it back. I have...two?”
Yojin set the knife down at his side, rubbing his hands together.
“Okay. This still might hurt. Um. Three. Two. One.” He counted--and on the third one, without hesitation, but with a hearty wince of sympathy, he pulled the sleeve off. It--well--peeled off, flakes of half-dry blood coming off with it.
“Ooh-K.” He muttered when he saw the broken shoulder. “That’s--”
Like Haruuhi. But far less. Definitely broken, though, and bloody.
Someone’s going to get here. It’s not fatal. Hurry, and go.
“...Um. What arm do you write with? Asking for no reason in particular.” Yojin said, looking back up at Rowan’s face for a moment, a grimace of sympathy on his face. “...I think...I just...clean this, bandage it, and...maybe toss a sling on it? If you hear scales, tell me.”

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She made a sniffling laugh as he said he would be a weird choice for a hallucination. "You're not bad." She said because let's be fair, she expected no one, she did not understand so many things but it was okay to see someone she knew and it might be even better to be someone that she knew and that she wanted to apologize to, what did she do again? How did he know she was here? Where was here was still beyond her. It was better to think positive. It seemed they were on the same line as he said something along the lines of that as well. "Where are we? This is still Musutafu?" She had no idea anymore also because she had no look in alleys when she walked to school and she had no idea what time it was. "Yojin?" But should she say that? Instead, she nodded when he said he would take off her jacket, she had an idea how when he waved with that knife where she concentrated her eyes on. She would sit up a little differently, now being able to remain upright.
Should she say it?
"The school is on lockdown?" Wait, that again made her realize how she barely knew anything. "Yojin," She could not help but say his name again as if she was saver that way, sticking to reality. "I can't remember anything." She felt her lip tremble but she did not dare to say much more about it, she knew that it was Bucket, only because of the last memories and the only thing was that she had seen him but how did she get here, so many questions that only made her more afraid and tremble. "You should go, I don't want you to get in trouble. Sorry." She added as she trembled and he said she should be careful. "I am not good with cold and the cobblestones aren't exactly warm but d-don't worry, I am okay." Which was maybe something of a mantra that she should repeat in her mind. She was okay.
She bit her lip harshly, even that bad that she got the taste of blood but she did not want to scream when the sleeve got off, it hurt, every little inch hurt and the little breeze, even that little stung her skin, she looked at it, her blouse soaked and pealing off, maybe that was the plan, with a little pull it would come off as well, she felt like crying, how could she be so stupid.
"That one." She did not want to think about anything else, glad Yojin brought up a subject, she let go of her right arm with her left to brush away the blood that came from the new cut in her lip. "O-okay," She tried to look away from what Yojin was doing, she should pay attention to other noises if she would hear Orlov-sensei come. She had to do something in return and if that was making sure that he wouldn't get a problem because of the lockdown, it was the smallest thing she could do. |

“Wow. That’s a lot of questions.” Yojin blurted back, horribly grateful that Rowan’s broken arm gave him an excuse not to meet her eyes. Every answer running through his head felt stupid. Instead, he focused giving first-aid, soaking a thin layer of gauze with iodine, and daubing around the wound. “Classes are going suck with that hand, but better than--well…”
Yojin swallowed, biting his lip before he finished that sentence. He didn’t want to think about how bad it could have been.
“I--thanks, though. It’s--Wish I could have been here faster.” He muttered, glancing to the side, face getting hot as he finally registered the first thing she’d said. “I--Yojin. Yeah. We haven’t really talked all that much. I remember you from Geist's lesson though. I tried drop a robot on you--”
And then you lit me on fire. And I broke my hand. Actually, I hope you forgot about that last bit.
Yojin coughed awkwardly. “Meant to try to chat with you after that--was curious.”
She ran past me, dead set on victory. Attacked me with nothing held back. I wasn’t expecting her to be this...vulnerable. Though anyone would be after what just happened.
He tossed the dirty gauze aside, and came out with another strip, stealing a look at Rowan’s face as he did. Vulnerable. That was the word, wasn’t it?
Yojin had been expecting her to be crueler. From afar, he’d almost admired that--the shadow of someone with an unquestioning drive forwards, a fire threatening to consume anything in her way.
Reality was always more confusing.
“You really can’t remember Rowan?” He murmured. It wasn’t quite a question--at least not to her. It was closer to an affirmation--that she was something different than the picture he’d had of her.
He took hold of her bicep, his hand rough from work in the shop, cold from the spring air, and started to wrap gauze around the room. Not tight--just enough to absorb blood, and then a sling around that.
Alarm bells were going off in his head.
The last time he’d felt like he’d peeled back another student’s mask had been Emi Tachibana.
Yojin’s shoulders tensed at the memory of how that had been. Then again, thus far, Rowan hadn’t shown any sign of being as self-absorbed or defensive as Emi.
He could only hope.
“There we go--um...hit me up in a few days, maybe I can rig up a better speech-to-text device than you could buy. “ Yojin said, tying off the end of the gauze-sling, and moving back to admire his work. It was messy, but good enough for today. He took a deep breath, his face going flat again. It was his usual look. Not good. Not bad. Just unreadable. “You know, I’d like to think this means the villains are losing their touch.”
After a second, he grinned--a very small smile, and reached up, pulling off his ragged blue hoodie, and handing it over to her. It left him in just a thin black cotton T-shirt, but it wasn’t that cold.
“Here you go. Means I have to remember to visit you in the infirmary if I want it back.” Yojin quipped. The sweatshirt smelled like cigarette smoke, oil, and other, more mechanical scents, but it was soft and warm, at least.
He stood up, shivering, then offered his hand to help Rowan up.
Off into the sunset like a real hero, then? Leave someone else to clean up the mess?
Yojin’s brain could be a real bastard sometimes.
Come on. You’ve aced it so far, it’s only downhill from here.
Yeah. Like he was going to leave a teenage girl who’d just been traumatized by UA’s least favorite villain by herself. When he took a second to think about it, it really wasn’t even a choice.
“...Let’s go find a bench.” Yojin muttered, bending back down to pack up his bag and mask. “We can sit and wait for the heroes to get here together. Not great at conversation though--got any stories? You could tell me, who is Rowan Sakamoto?”

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ "Ah sorry." Yes, a lot of questions, what the hell happened. What date was it? Why was she here, there were too many but she did not dare to ask, especially not after he said she had a lot of questions. She did not know what to say, she did not want to think about classes, was she not getting expelled? What would Jaegar say if he heard it? He said he would not expel her but, but what about her? What about Lady? She looked shortly at her right shoulder but turned to look away, she did not want to see it. She did not want to think how it happened, why it happened, she just focused on listening to Yojin, that was the best thing to do, it also meant she ignored any pain or cold that would make her shiver again.
"Faster meant.. it meant you would maybe get caught in the problem, with that.. man." No his timing was maybe perfect enough. How did he find her? She did not want to ask anything more for the sake of getting more confused. She did not dare to tell that she did not remember anything hence the questions. She did not want to open the lock of the door that was in her mind. Behind it were maybe the answers, but behind it might be the excruciating pain that her head seemed to be pushing away, her headache subdued a little, but it was still there, nagging, throbbing behind her right eyebrow. She kept saying his name but not finishing what she wanted to say, she should stop. "Curious?" She did remember him, vaguely, the class had been a very strange moment, she ran to the centre as Geist had said was the goal but as she had reached that, she could not remember what happened next. It was that she talked to Nimue-sensei and Geist-sensei who told her what she did. Firing those marbles even after he had fallen with the robot, she remembered she did not want to do that and yet she did. She took a deep breath, she had to calm down, after all, Bucket was gone, "I seem to have that a lot." pulling on the hem of her jacket that was still over her left arm, if she shrugged a little it would come off too, so she did to not look at Yojin. "I keep fainting, showing up at home, not remembering where I have been or what I have done. Apparently nothing interesting as there were no newspaper articles or cops at my door but after that class, I fainted too, I could only remember running past, I remember later that I threw my quirk at you, that I tried to burn Chimera-san. Nakahara-sensei could not find an explanation. I don't know what I said to Bucket, I don't know what he asked, I only know that I-that I felt lost."
Lost wasn't covering the entire part of the emotions she felt but she did not notice him tense up, she did not notice what he was doing, wondering, finding herself stupid. She had to get stronger, she had to be the one to be in power. Lady should be gone, she was too old to have an imaginary friend! She turned to look at him and turned immediately her eyes to her right shoulder, "Wow, that's impressive." She wanted other things to think about and he seemed to understand. She tried to smile, it was weak, it did not reach her eyes, "I will keep that in mind." Maybe she should go home instead of to school. "It would be nice if they did, soon enough they have to be afraid of us, right?" Her eyes looking at the dark alley, no scorch marks, what had he said and why had she not fought back?
He offered his vest, as he said before, but it made her blush albeit she tried to not say anything stupid and simply accepted his offer with her now left hand (stupidly enough she tried her right and winced, this took some time to get used to) but when she stood up, it was okay, the sling now made it very clear to her brain not to do that again. She tried to smile though, yes, maybe they could youknow, get to know each other better. She followed, taking her own bag and looked at her ripped jacket but put it clumsily in her hand to follow out of the alley. "Are you sure?" She looked worried because again she did not want him to get into trouble because of her. "Oh, Me?" Yes, of course, her, idiot. "Well eh, to be honest, Rowan Sakamoto is the spoiled brat that learned that if you want something to do or get, you have to work for it and that took me quite a while to figure out but now I am set on doing what I can do, maybe a sort of give back what I took value and Nakahara-sensei?" She was totally not done with her rambling about herself, why was she so god-damn honest to Yojin was something she did not understand but she would get there probably until the nurse showed up. That was quick or should she say late? |

Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse She wasn't home yet, around 7 pm in the evening and she had not wanted to go home. Yes she was hungry, yes she was dreading the moment but that was all forgotten when Relena burst into her office, a miracle she was there, the bucket man. Oh for god sake not him again. She grabbed her jacket, looked at Relena her phone and took her bag, "You stay here, go back to your dorm." She had nothing more to say, she had no time, more texts came in, Mikhail would take a look at the U.A. chat, she could go outside. She ran, but where to go with no coordinates, she tried to find it, the number, to check it, but the app crashed and she walked on, left, right, alley here, alley there. Until she had to stop. Her mind definitely not keeping up, she was lost. The streets did not look familiar enough and it was getting darker by the minute. She decided to walk to the shopping mall as if she was walking to Yuuei, hoping to get some hints.
Finally, after going around in circles, she saw something that looked slightly familiar and as she made her way to the moped, trying to ignore how upset she was with herself, she turned to look in the alley, Nakahara-sensei. "Sakamoto-san," She stood on her own legs and she seemed relatively okay, maybe very pale and bloody but yea what did you expect. Her eyes went to the person next to her, "Hino-kun?" The... hell... she dropped her bag next to her to walk quickly over to check up Rowan-san, temperature, fine for now, pulse, good enough, she looked at the sling and bandage. Pulling it a little aside, it was a great start for a... a starter. Her eyes going shortly back at Yojin again. How the hell did he get here so fast and why was it said that everyone was accounted for?
They were closer to the Tokyo hospital than to the school, it might be smarter to let Rowan rest there, they should have a few check-ups and a scan of her bones as that looked a little strange. Something poking to her skin. "Can you walk? How do you feel." The nurse took the bag from the girl and suggested to walk to the hospital if she was able to carry on, else she would call an ambulance. "Come along Hino-kun, you better stay with me and come back to the school, we don't want another incident tonight." It was true that it was one of the reasons she wanted him to come along, but she did not say too much about it with Rowan around.
Once she took care of that and Rowan instantly fell asleep that evening, she texted Mikhail to please call her family to tell them what happened but that she was okay as she hurried back to the hall of the hospital. "I think we have to talk." Nimue her sense of judgement might be a bit too easy from time to time, "You can't keep doing this, this is the second time." The mask in his hand, the moped, she had seen him before, it completely added up. "How are you doing? Did you talk to someone after-" She had to take a deep breath, "After Hajimari's accident? It wasn't a pretty sight." She remembered he puked, wait did he? It did not matter now. "I mean to say, that it's great that you got here so fast and that you paid attention in my class but Yojin-san, it's too dangerous out here as you should know of all people. Why do you do this?"

自由自在 never the right words.
It was easy to listen to Rowan talk. Almost pleasant. Well, more than almost.
Yojin found a tiny smile creeping into the corners of his mouth as he guided Rowan out of the ally. His eyes stayed forward, on the street, but every few moments, he couldn’t help but glance over to her, quick and secretive. Maybe he was just trying to convince himself that all of tonight--the attack, the bargain he’d made--was real. It had already begun to haze over, dreamlike.
“Lost.” He echoed, his own voice a murmur. A memory full of holes. Yeah. They were both pretty damn lost.
If he was better with people, more clever, he probably could have figured out more from what she’d told him. Instead, he almost felt like he knew her less. Despite that, they’d both shared something with each other few others in the school knew.
He just didn’t know what to make of it. He wanted to help her, though.
Yojin coiled in the wire as he passed his bike, trying to hold the welding mask out of view. A welding mask carried by a mechanic didn’t mean anything. With a flick of quirk, his moped stopped. No riding into the sunset tonight. Instead, the two of them had a date with a park bench, and whatever teacher got there first.
He wasn’t looking forward to explaining himself.
He held out his arm for Rowan to grab in case she stumbled--she still looked shaky on her feet. He was shivering himself, but he tried to hide it. He didn’t want her to try to give the hoodie back.
“I don’t think you’re spoiled. Or a brat.” Yojin replied, stopping abruptly in the middle of the street when she finished describing herself. For some reason, it stung watching her take a swing at herself.
“If you were, I’d have been embarrassed to have lost to you.” He added, stumbling now. He forced himself to meet her eyes anyway. It was important. “Just be careful. I--”
Nakahara?
Yojin looked behind him, following Rowan’s gaze, confused.
Nimue-Sensei. Oh goddamnit.
He closed his mouth, avoiding eye contact with the nurse. He knew he was in trouble--the question was, how much?
Breathe. There’s no way for them to find out about the shop, unless they talk to a bunch of Vigilantes. I didn’t use to name “Fix” here, or around Haruuhi last time. The two things in common are a welding mask, which anyone could wear, and my moped. She might miss the moped, and the mask---can I take it apart in time?
His thoughts had started to tumble. Why did it have to be one of the two teachers than had been at the other Bucket incident? If it had been Orlov-Sensei, or Hachi-Sensei, he’d probably just get detention, but Nimue…
Yojin stayed silent the whole time they waited for the ambulance. Standing still, like a statue. The most movement he did was to wave goodbye to Rowan, as she left.
Finally, he turned to Nimue.
Here it comes.
He stared at Nimue with a flat, expressionless face as she started to speak. Not hostile, or defiant. Resigned.
She put it together. Because medical professionals aren’t dumb.
He was silent after she finished speaking. Thinking.
“I...don’t know.” Yojin finally replied, his voice soft. Tired. “Why. Not yet.”
He shrugged. Whatever happened to him, happened. He didn’t have the slightest idea what he was supposed to say--what she wanted to hear, what he could say. Any explanation would make it worse, and he was telling the truth.
He honestly didn’t know why he kept helping. He’d created Fix to run a shop, and rob delivery trucks. Not this.
“People just keep needing help. And I can. It’s...exhausting.”

Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse She looked at the boy with a worried look. The boy was slightly taller than her, so it was easy to look him in the eye and show that she wasn't angry. She wasn't the type for that. Yes, right and wrong were objectives and thoughts, there was this massive grey area when it came to it but that made her more the worried nurse all the time. She asked him so many questions at once that it should be considered unfair but by realizing it was Yojin, there were too many things popping up into her mind. They should go back to the school but she had to know a few things first and she would have to make sure he was doing okay, wasn't that her job as well?
It remained quiet between them for a bit until he said he did not know. She did not say much more, why did he do this? "Exhausting?" She did not understand exactly what he meant, was he doing okay? The worried frown on her face, the look in her eyes did not change anything. "You don't have to do this alone." She wasn't sure what to say, because actually he was not allowed to do this alone, he was a student and why would he help them and yet not be in the hero-course. What was he trying? So many questions but they remained there where they started. "Come." She said softly as she took a few steps in the right direction, they should take a bus or something but maybe they could talk while walking. She took off her jacket as she was wearing a sweater and her school white coat as well. "Take this, it's not summer yet." She tried to keep the conversation airy, hoping Yojin would talk to her, he had been in her eyes brave but it should not mean he should do this again and again.
"Do you feel obliged to go and try to rescue your classmates?" They were maybe not in the same class but she did consider it anyway, they were the same first years, all starting and all trying to find a way in a world where the darkness might be growing stronger.

Yojin stared at Nimue-Sensei, eyes narrowed in suspicion. He didn’t doubt any of UA’s teachers. Even Geist and Jaeger cared about the students. But both teachers and students had to follow rules.
And he’d been caught breaking them.
He was expecting suspension and anger, not to be offered Nimue’s coat.
Then again, maybe getting caught by a loan shark was getting him a little down.
The memory of what had happened on the way here felt like a heavy ball of ice settling into his stomach, but it helped him move again. Yojin blinked, breaking his stare, and looked down at his feet, reaching out to take the coat.
“Thanks.” He muttered, ashamed. “I--”
Fuck.
Nimue was asking a lot of really hard questions. Questions that Yojin had been avoiding asking himself for a while. Even when Chimera had confronted him on helping Haruuhi, Yojin had danced around it--too tired, and too shaken to fucking psychoanalyze himself. She’d been okay, anyway. Why did anything else have to matter?
“If you’re gonna suspend me or give detention.” He muttered. “Might as well. Easier than what you’re asking.”
He wrapped his arms around himself. Thinking about what he was doing just lead to thinking about Semper Fi. Of how helpless he’d been. Maybe that was--
No, that wasn’t all of it.
But his thoughts kept tumbling, just a downward spiral of badness. Getting shouted at by Emi, Elise, the first person he’d met at UA, in the hospital. Haruuhi’s kidnapping, the fight that had left Maxi and Yoruhi injured, Tokyo5. On punch after another. Never at him. Well. Mostly never.
“I--” He started. He’d meant telling her to suspend him to be the last thing he said, but now that he was thinking. Well. It was hard to stop.
“Not obligated.” Yojin mumbled, still looking down. He unwrapped his arms from himself, and shoved them in his pockets. “Everyone makes a choice.”
He swallowed past the lump in his throat. He wasn’t making sense at all. Even to himself.
“I just see...stuff. That’s broken. And I can...”
Yojin licked his lip--they were dry, and shook his head, glancing up at the streetlights.
"Yeah. That sucked."

Nimue Nakahara Yuuei's Nurse She noticed the look in his eyes. She was maybe not like Tanaka-san or Geist or Jaegar. She did not know how the other teacher took the approach, considering she spoke to Jaegar before about Sakamoto, it might be a good idea to consider something about her safety but that would be a worry for tomorrow. Right now it was Hino. What did the world do to him? Was the first thing that she thought, surely he was doing it well considering he was trying to help people but to look at her with narrowed eyes of suspicion, distrust, it did not hurt her personally, it made her only more worried. How he looked away from her, sheltered? Hurt? Too many words and yet not knowing what to do about it.
The worry was clearly visible in her eyes. Again she knew she wasn't like the others but she did not mind that. She just wanted to what is best and she did not want to punish people who wanted to be future heroes, for what they should do, albeit a bit too early and with underestimating the world. She gave him a wry smile but he did not meet her eyes anymore. "I am not. You do get detention with me in the infirmary. You are now mandatory to take first-aid classes if you want to be that kind of hero." She took a step closer to him and wrapped her arms around him, "Yojin, you worry me." She was always trying to hold on to the rules of Japan. But she could not resist, her heritage, South-African was an open, loving country where people looked out for the other. As a child, she remembered the ladies in the supermarket, the men in the cars making sure she was alright. She wanted to make sure he was alright.
He was not obliged, he did not feel like that but he made no sense in the words. Yes, broken, stuff. He kept seeing all that, the other students, Haruuhi and now Rowan. "You must not forget yourself though." She said softly as she let him go after a while (unless he had pushed her away). She did not want to talk about the consequences of danger, he seemed to be very aware of that, she did not need to point that out.

“Hero?”
“I’m not-”
Yojin froze in place, going stiff as a board when Nimue stepped in and wrapped her arms around him. For a moment, he had no idea what was happening, then heat rose to his cheeks when he realized he was being hugged, his face flushing dark red.
“Hmp!?”
Wait! What? Why!? He was fine! He wasn’t upset--well not about this! Or, he wasn’t that sort of upset! Well, except for being blackmailed! That was...something he still didn’t want to think about! And Rowan--god, he didn’t even know what to think of Rowan. He was just so tired. Crap. Chimera was going to be furious at him.
It had been a while since he’d been home. Or gotten a hug.
It wasn’t so bad.
Yojin slowly raised one of his arms, awkwardly patting Nimue on the back, his eyes squeezed shut. His vision had suddenly gotten blurry. “...Thanks. I...I’ll do better.” He mumbled. He wasn’t sure what that meant right now. He didn’t want to worry people, though. And as UA nurse, Nimue had to be looking at so many people worse-off than him. “You--”
For a moment, Yojin had the insane urge to confess everything. The robberies. Blackout. Damage Control. She would help him. If she could.
Could she?
It was too much to put on her right now.
“...You’re better than we deserve.” Yojin mumbled as Nimue pulled back, turning away to try to hide his face. He reached up, rubbing hard at his eyes. Goddammit. He wasn't crying. “I’ll tell my work about detention. Makes sense. If you ever need help…”
A student offering help to a teacher. But she was young as well. And no one ever really knew what they were doing, did they?
“...I owe you.”
