Mundane Abilities Mechanic Rank: F Effect: Yojin grew up in a shop, surrounded by complex machinery. By the time he was in middle school, he was ready to work in the family business. After that, he expanded his knowledge to costume design, and superhero accessories, specifically training to enter UA. He has a good understanding of how all common machinery works, as well as how most non-secret superhero gear functions as well. This means given time and materials, he could replicate them, or reverse engineer unknown gear to understand its function. Ability name Rank: (Rank of ability) Effect: (Effect of ability) Combat Abilities Drive Rank: F Effect: Sure, it’s not legal to let a minor drive, but Yojin got to anyway as a kid. Under supervision, of course. As he entered his teens, he was gifted his own moped, which he’s since modified to be very much not street-legal. It’s painted jet-black, has a nitrous-oxide boost tank, high-brightness lights, and a fake emergency siren, but it’s still a moped. He calls it Dethcycle. It’s probably ironic. Ability name Type: (Enhancement, skill, misc) Rank: (Rank of the ability) Effect: (The effect of your ability)

However, taking formal lessons would mean admitting he plans on getting in more fights, so instead, he’s developed a patchwork style from combat lessons with Darren, Alex, and other students, focused on using whatever weapon he has on hand to his advantage. Yojin Hino
BASIC INFORMATION Hero/Vigilante/Villain alias: "Fix"/"Kamikaze" Player Name: DrTentacles Faceclaim/Series: Maosomi Kida, DRRRR Age: 15 Gender: Male Affiliation: UA Student Height: ~1.7m Weight: ~70kg Hair/Style: Blond, Messy. Skin/Scars: Light brown, small burns scars and cuts on hands and face. Eyes: Yellowish Brown Notables: Not very.
APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY Appearance:
Yojin is an unremarkable-looking high school student in a remarkable world. He’s average height, with broad shoulders and lanky muscle that he’s still growing into. His features are sharp, angular, and maybe a little intense, but any intensity is overshadowed by dark bags under his eyes, and the constant look of someone getting way too little sleep. The biggest sign of an effort to distinguish himself is his hair, which he dyed blond a year or two back.
Yojin dresses in loose, casual clothing whenever possible--baggy T-Shirts with band names on them a size too large, worn jeans, stuff that’s easy to clean or throw away. Of course, usually he can’t dress for comfort, and wears his school uniform.
No matter what clothes he’s wearing, he’s always got his signature (and only) bag of tools at his side, a beaten up canvas satchel filled with pliers, tape, a portable sewing machine, spare parts, and other tools. He smells like grease, smoke (both engine, and cigarette) and usually is drinking coffee or an energy drink.
POSITIVE ✔ Diligent, Independent, Responsible NEGATIVE ✖ Aloof, Cynical, Deceitful. LIKES ✔ Hands-on-work, Machines, Caffeine DISLIKES ✖ Not having anything to do, being in the spotlight, crowds.
Personality:
Yojin is a young man of few words, defined by the world-weary cynicism typical in teenagers who’ve had to grow up a little too fast. He prefers to stay out of the spotlight, and keep his head down most of the time. This changes when it comes to his inventions, however--He’s passionate and independent when it comes to making new gadgets or improving old ones.
As a student, he’s diligent and capable, always taking his studies seriously. He’s also calm under pressure and unlikely to cause trouble.
However, Yojin always seems a little exhausted, and a little withdrawn. He doesn’t talk about himself much, and though he doesn’t go out of his way to point out the negative, he can be blunt and harsh when things go wrong.
HISTORY Hino Yojin is the oldest child of a pair of automobile repair workers in Nagoya, Japan. His father had a small-scale electricity quirk, while his mother was able to create quarter-sized nuts and bolts from her hands. He grew up in the shop, helping his parents with their work, and quickly began familiar with the ins and outs of heavy machinery.
When Yojin was around thirteen, his father fell chronically ill, and his mother moved to the countryside to be closer to her extended family, since the illness prevented his father from keeping his job. By this time, Yojin’s quirk had began to manifest, drawing the attention of his teachers, and when it came time to start looking for high schools, UA was mentioned as an option.
His mother contacted some old coworkers, Yojin worked on better grades, and by the end of the year, he scraped into General Studies. His family could only afford to pay for his first term, so he’d have to find a job in the city to pay for tuition, but it was a start.
A little into the term, and several low-paying jobs later, he decided to take a different path: an after-hours costume repair shop. Set up in an abandoned garage by a junkyard, using materials scavenged from the school’s dumpsters, it offered quick, cheap, no-questions-asked services. It probably wasn’t legal, and certainly was going to lead to trouble down the line, but it was much more money than any of his jobs had paid in the past. Besides, Yojin had to admit there was a certain joy in being able to pursue his own work instead of following directions.
Yojin isn’t really sure he wants to be a hero. Heroes are admirable, sure, but he doesn’t feel like he’s got what it takes. Heroes have a bit more drive, a bit more idealism, moral clarity that they know what to do, and that it’s the right thing. Heroes are the sort of people willing to paint a giant, fat target on their back for the sake of principle.
There are other ways to make a difference, right? Without the stagehands, the actors would be in the dark. Without mechanics, races would be a lot less exciting. And without support staff, most heroes would have to wear towels or curtains instead of stab-resistance capes.
Yojin would rather be the kind of person that makes that sort of stuff than the kind that wears them. There’s a lot less pressure and attention that way. And a lot more money.

Yojin Hino
QUIRK INFORMATION Quirk Technomacy
Type: Emitter Rank: E Description: Yojin’s bones are laced with faintly electromagnetic iron, allowing him to operate, assemble, and dissemble machinery with nothing more than skin contact. Effects: - Yojin can assemble, disassemble, and use machinery, or metallic constructions by touching any connected part. This includes pieces he cannot see, but knows are there.
- If a device would require power, Yojin can power it using his quirk.
- If Yojin makes a makeshift projectile weapon with his quirk, it can fire across a large room, with enough force to break stone.
Drawback and Weaknesses:
- Unlike most emitters of his rank, Yojin's Quirk requires touch to work.
- Anything done with Yojin's quirk is exactly as fatiguing as performing the operation by hand.
- Yojin cannot impact devices he does not understand. Most of the time, this is not a problem, as most devices use the same basic parts, but high-tech devices might end up being impossible to use.
MUNDANE ABILITIES Mechanic Rank: E Effect: Yojin grew up in a shop, surrounded by complex machinery. By the time he was in middle school, he was ready to work in the family business. New App Changes/Rank-Up:
- Mechanic Mundane Ability Added to Quirk as a Benefit: Refund 700 XP
- Quirk Ranked from E -> D = -400 XP
- Skills categorized properly
Yojin Hino
QUIRK INFORMATION Technomancy
Type: Emitter Rank: D Description: Yojin’s bones are laced with faintly electromagnetic iron, allowing him to operate, assemble, and dissemble machinery with nothing more than skin contact. Effects: - Yojin can assemble, disassemble, and use mechanical constructs by touching any connected part. This includes pieces he cannot see, but knows are there. This includes minor alterations, such as welding or completing circuits.
- If a device would require power, Yojin can power it using his quirk, drawing from his own stamina. Yojin's quirk is physically stronger than he is, allowing him to move heavier objects as part of his work. Weapons he creates with the quirk can also strike with greater force. For example, if he turned a vacuum cleaner with a hammer, it might have a mini-jet engine to enhance swings.
Benefits: - Strength: Yojin's quirk is physically stronger than he is physically, allowing him to move heavier objects as part of his work. Weapons he creates with the quirk can also strike with greater force. For example, if he turned a vacuum cleaner into a hammer, it might have a mini-turbine to enhance swings.
- Range: Although Yojin's quirk requires physical contact to work, he can only effect parts of a "whole" that are within his quirks range. For example, though a "bus" is technically a single machine, he may not be able to effect the engine on one hand from the rear. Second, if he creates projectile weapons with his quirk, they can only fire accurately out to his quirk's range.
- Engineering: Although technically Engineering is a skill that he learned independently of his quirk, it's accurate to say the two are so entwined it's effectively part of his quirk. As he enhances his quirk, he learns new machinery and skills, and so forth.
Specialist Abilities
Drive Rank: F Effect: Sure, it’s not legal to let a minor drive, but Yojin got to anyway as a kid. Under supervision, of course. It’s painted jet-black, has a nitrous-oxide boost tank, high-brightness lights, and a fake emergency siren, but it’s still a moped. He calls it Dethcycle. It’s probably ironic.
Tailoring Rank: F Effect: With a year of lessons under his belt, and some help from Momoko, Yojin can make pretty professional-looking clothes, or at least not embarrass himself with an needle and thread.
COMBAT ABILITIES Improv-Fu Rank: F Effect: Yojin has always believed that carrying a weapon is for people who go looking for trouble. Unfortunately, after trouble found him in Semper-Fi, he’d been forced to learn self-defense beyond his previous “schoolyard fight” experience. Converting 2 EP to 500XP
Improv-Fu Rank: F Effect: Yojin has always believed that carrying a weapon is for people who go looking for trouble. Unfortunately, after trouble found him in Semper-Fi, he’d been forced to learn self-defense beyond his previous “schoolyard fight” experience. However, taking formal lessons would mean admitting he plans on getting in more fights, so instead, he’s developed a patchwork style from combat lessons with Darren, Alex, and other students, focused on using whatever weapon he has on hand to his advantage. (Usually a crowbar or wrench.)
Improv-Fu Rank: E Effect: Yojin has always believed that carrying a weapon is for people who go looking for trouble. Unfortunately, after trouble found him in Semper-Fi, he’d been forced to learn self-defense beyond his previous “schoolyard fight” experience. However, taking formal lessons would mean admitting he plans on getting in more fights, so instead, he’s developed a patchwork style from combat lessons with various UA students and lessons with Giest, designed to make the most out of whatever weapons he can improvise with his quirk.
First Aid Rank: F Effect: Yojin's been working in the Infirmary. God help us all. He can perform basic first-aid.
Durability Rank: E Effect: Some students content themselves with armor, hardened skin. Yojin built himself a simple, but effective mecha, dubbed the "Bumblebox." It stands about the size of a mid-sized car, and he can use his quirk through it, while the hardened alloy frame absorbs damage for him.
