Down the rabbit hole!

Yumi had been waiting by the edge of the grass about the school gate, her back to the grass unknowingly making it easier to be snuck up on thanks to the soft surface of the grass. It was a weirdly warm day for it being so close to Christmas, but Yumi hardly complained, wearing some of her own specially made clothes, a long sleeved, but figure fitting slim-sweater (just incase it got cold later) and of course some slim thermal leggings. Both were very warm and cozy, and most importantly, electricity proof. She knew she was going out with her new friend Yusaku after all, so it was best she prepare just incase she should give him a little spark to keep him going. She’d even specifically been thinking about the fact it’d be a bit rude to enjoy popcorn infront of him while not giving him a snack to enjoy himself, and apparently, according to him, she was quite the snack.

Right now she was just idly checking her phone, smirking here or there as she found a funny image on Imgur and got a little giggle out of it. She was blissfully unaware of the robot kitten sneaking up behind her, and when they finally hit she let out a soft squeal at the sudden weight put onto her back, nearly falling over before the weight dissipated across her body, and the metal wrapping shifted around her body, slimming down as it cupped around her limbs a bit more firmly and started to rest on her like a second skin. Yumi took a few seconds of stumbling and catching her balance before she even realized what was happening, until the voice sounded in her ears. “Who-i-what-DON’T KILL ME-oh!” Standing upright, her hands went right to the top of her head, giggling as she noticed the bunny ears atop her head.

“Oh damn, you really got good at that huh? I remember when I had to step into you like you were some T-posing mech.” Smiling ‘back’ at him, sorta feeling like he was somewhere on her shoulder when she heard him through the headphones, she adjusted to the coating for a moment before picking her phone up off the floor, tossing it up and catching it to help her get used to the second layer of metal and the hand eye coordination that it could sometimes throw off. Right now things seemed pretty stable though, especially since her phone’s hardy case meant it stayed safe. “You’re lucky you never met me earlier in the year. Scare like that? I woulda been likely to fry you.~”

She was of course just teasing playfully, stretching her whole body, bending out her spine as she did, giving a soft, sensual little squeak that may have actually drawn a lecherous eye if she wasn’t encased in metal while doing it, getting off her tip toes and sighing contently as she bounced back to her heels. “Glad you’re cozy. And sure! If you ever need a snack don’t be afraid to ask okay?” She started to walk, knocking a panel of metal about where her pocket would be, hoping Yusaku would pull it back for a moment so she could put her phone in her pocket and continuing to walk. “You wanna grab the bus or maybe fly over there? Doubt we’d get in too much trouble if I was careful not to be seen?”

Yumi did feel a little weird hearing Yusaku like he was in her head, but picturing him like an angel on the shoulder kind of situation, it was kinda cute when she thought of it like that but primarily it was just easier for her brain to handle in general as it rested like that in her head. She had begun to walk while he was debating what they’d be doing and finally perking up as he voiced his opinions on the matter. Right, so he was of the mind that they can give it a go, so long as they were safe about how they did it.

“Sounds good, I wore electro proof clothes so I should definitely be fine. You mind removing the mouth piece? Would be nice to get some fresh air in my lungs while we fly.~” Jogging across the road from the school, she ducked into an alleyway, clapping her fingers into her palms and waiting for the sparks to emerge from the pads of her new paws as she wore yusaku, recalling how it was much more effective to fly like Iron man when inside the armor, and using the inner walls of the alleyway to help her, she was soon flying up towards the rooftops. She tried to fly a little further, but soon learned she wouldn’t be able to bound between the streets with Yusaku’s weight on her. Instead, she maximized her output in short bursts, and as such, literally had the two bouncing across rooftops like an electrified rabbit as she focused the output through her hands and feet everytime she landed ready for the next leap. They got a few looks sure, but nothing long enough to warrant a call to the police over anything.

“Oh! Remind me!” She began, bounding across another street towards the cinema in the city center, not too far away especially since they were taking a more direct path than any bus could, without the stops too to boot. “What was it we were seeing? I’ve definitely got enough for it, just forgot what we’re getting tickets for…I think it has Ryan Reynolds grandson in it or something? He’s apparently a really good actor! Takes after his grand-pappy!” She briefly took a risk bounding diagonally across a street, yelping as she began to drop to the road but managing to land on a lamppost instead, bounding off that and back onto the rooves, letting out a sigh of relief.

Even with the fact that Yusaku was, without her realizing, taking a lot of the strain from her legs, Yumi was definitely enjoying the bounding motions and was eager to take it out for a spin with her flight skills on her own. With a wide smile under the mask, wondering if that in any way translated to the outside of the mask outside of the subtle shapes her eyes would make through the visor, she bounded off another rooftop, giggling as he made his comment, still feeling like an angel on her shoulder with the way he spoke almost directly into her head.

“Well if we’re gonna look the part we may as well play the part…!” Feeling the swishing motion behind her as she flew through the air, she glanced over her shoulder at the long tail flicking out behind her, smirking a little. “Well, we look half the part, but I guess you can’t change everything huh? I won’t complain though. I hear a well managed tail can help with balance!~” To emphasize this, she aimed one let at a rooftop corner, landing in such a way she didn’t quite fall off, and bounded at a sharp angle in the other direction, squealing with delight as she continued to use her discharges to aid their leaps.

When they came down to land in an elleyway near the cinema so as to approach it a little more discreetly, Yumi tucked and rolled, discharging on the descent so the landing wasn’t too rough and she didn’t end up scuffing Yusaku’s body, maybe just briefly forgetting she WAS wearing what was essentially his skin afterall. Getting up and checking around herself to make sure she was pretty undamaged, she started to walk out onto the main street.

“I’m not all that big a movie connoisseur, but I do like to enjoy the cinema experience every now and then~” Sticking out her tongue, and quickly regretting it as she tasted metal with the mask closing back up, she shook the taste from head and walked towards the cinema. “Oooooh! You wanna see if we can sneak by on only one ticket? I bet you the popcorn I can get us in on one. If I win you pay for my popcorn, if I lose, I pay for it, aaaand…” She tapped her chin, skipping across the road when their were no cars. “I’ll let you have a nibble on my energy as much as you want for the movie. Deal?~”

“Ooooh. Okay. High stakes then.~” About to stick her tongue out again before recalling she’d taste metal, she resisted the instinctive urge and instead just held a sly smirk, wondering if Yusaku could even see her expressions from his position of being…well, around her. Still, it didn’t stop her expressing herself as normal. “Don’t worry about the tail though, its seriously kinda cute. Must help differentiate you from any other power suits too, assuming they ever bring your model into mass production. I bet the tail isn’t exactly something every cop would have been eager to have in the final design.~”

Snickering at the redesign anyway, she got up on her tip toes to twist and look over her shoulder, smirking at the bunny tail and back to where she envisioned Yusaku. “Oh really it was fine, you can change it back if it’s more comfortable. Really I was just teasing.~” Smiling brightly and it showing in her voice, regardless of what he stuck with Yumi continued to the cinema. It was the kind where you had to buy your tickets even before buying snacks, so Yumi eagerly headed up to the ticket stand. She was about to say she should be the one paying for the ticket if they manage to get just one, but as she thought about how she was going to make sure they only paid once, she realized that if she were to reveal her pockets under the armor, and get her money out, it would ruin the plan she had in mind. Still, she whispered carefully. It likely wasn’t hard for Yusaku to pass as just a suit, but to make sure she didn’t have to take him off either, she had another idea in mind. “Okay, just stay quiet anyway yeah? I dunno how loud these headphones are but let’s not risk anything okay?~ Oh! And give my voice a little robotic tint if you can yeah? We can open the mouthguard up later trust me~” She winked inside the visor, glancing up to the names of movies that were skimming past a lit up screen, picking out the one she’d been intending to see and heading up to buy her ticket.

With the ticket guy looking a little tired, he glanced up to the metallically clad Yumi, narrowed his eyes, and then rolled them as he stood up a little more straight. “Ma’am. Perhaps it would be best for you to leave your cosplay in your car? I don’t know what hero you’re imitating but-“

Yumi, with the sassiest cock of her hips she could muster, folded her arms and narrowed her eyes through her visor, very glad the solid mouth guard would hide the smirk she couldn’t entirely suppress. “Excuse me?”

The ticket man seemed majorly unphased by her response, gesturing to her costume. “Look I’m sure you love to stay in character but if you take that off mid-movie, finding space for it will just make the other patrons uncom-“

Yumi didn’t falter, this time cocking her hip to the other side, resting a hand upon it and her other hand resting about her chest, her eyes widening as she lifted her voice juuuust a little, not trying to be rude, just trying to sell the act. “This isn’t a cosplay. This is my skin!”

The ticket man was a little taken aback, but wasn’t entirely buying it, raising his hands. “Right, okay, I don’t mean any offense but I’ve never seen a quirk like-“

Yumi interrupted, crossing her arms and lifting her chin up. “If this was just a costume I wouldn’t be able to do this now would I?” With that, she whispered one word very VERY quietly so it didn’t make it through the mouth speaker. “Tail.” Hopefully Yusaku would get the hint, and the tail would start swishing about more elegantly than any normal home made costume could ever allow. Suffice to say the ticket seller quickly bit his tongue, quietly asking what movie they where to see, and Yumi, just a liiiiiittle smug, did as Yusaku said before and let him pay for the ticket with his robotic hacking or however it worked, wiggling her fingers in a wave to the ticket salesmen, and only letting herself giggle when she was out of earshot and heading for the snack stand.

Smirking from behind the mask all the while as they relaxed after their little ruse had worked, Yumi resisted full out giggling till they definitely couldn’t be heard, wiping a hand across the visor, sometimes still forgettings he was wearing this second layer and couldn’t wipe the light tear from all the giggling out of her eyes. It wasn’t too bothersome though, and soon cleared up as they headed for their food. “Oh nah, JackRabbit is definitely still the best name. Still, I do feel a little bad for taking charge like that. I should totally let you pilot ME sometime to make up for it. Ya know like, just go limp and let you take the wheels. I doubt you’d find it hard to think of ways to have fun with that.~” Giving a sly wink from inside the visor, Yumi’s mind drifted to the types of more…’adult’ doujins she liked to read, specifically ones about guys hopping into girls bodies. Sure she didn’t ever think Yusaku would or COULD do anything like that, but it was an amusing thought to tease him about all the same.

As they went to get their food, Yumi got a nice load of pocorn and some cherry tinted soda for a drink. She would briefly ask Yusaku “You er…need anything?” Before likely moving on. She did feel a bit bad she was stuffing herself like this while Yusaku couldn’t enjoy any of it, but hey, if he was genuinely satisfied from her electricity, she wouldn’t push anything and just leave him to enjoy it, offering a weak smile from within and moving to pay for their purchases by scanning the barcode on the cup and drink sizes. She was about to reach for her pocket, lightly grasping the metal panel in the way, forgetting their deal as her other hand ended up paying for the items through Yusaku, giving him a playful little glare from within. “Oh come on, you can’t for the tickets AND the popcorn. That’s not fair.~”

Feeling him guide her to rest the beverage, Yumi didn’t think it’d be too hard to convince the guy to let her come in ‘in costume’ with her tail already acting rather fluidly, but she sighed and rolled her eyes playfully, putting a more feminine little sway to her hips just to get her confidence up a little, holding the popcorn to her chest and leaning over the ticket man’s counter, handing over the ticket. This time though she took a different approach to hopefully make Yusaky giggle, leaning close enough the man could see faintly through the shaded visor to her real eyes below, fluttering her eyelashes as she leaned over and rested her chin on the back of her hand, not saying a word and just catching the guy off guard enough that he didn’t even question her attire, tearing the ticket just a little and handing it back, Yumi giving a tender “Thainks~” before taking the ticket back, and taking the drink from the tail as they headed to the right cinema station, making sure to take the drink specifically so it wasn’t in the way of the view behind her. Now sure, through metal it wasn’t TOO enticing, but Yumi’s confidence seemed to be more attractive than she needed to be visibly right now as another patron had to snap their fingers infront of his face to get him to take their tickets, Yumi snickering to herself once again as she glanced over her shoulder to see this amusing little sight taking place behind her right now. “Sorry, couldn’t resist. Hope you don’t mind me throwing a bit of womanly charm into JackRabbit’s persona.~”

Yumi’s eyes opened up a little as she paid attention to the story of how Miyu nearly caught her death, literally. She wondered what would posess someone to walk in the cold beyond their limits, but she was a little nervous and cautious to ask, not wanting to pry into any potentially private details and just offering a soft hum to confirm she’d been listening to everything that was getting said. She’d nervously rub her arm too if her hands weren’t currently full. The fact Yusaku caught onto her tease did lighten the mood just a little, but Yumi didn’t push it either, just to show she wasn’t entirely dismissing what had been said about Miyu.

“Well, still, I’ll do my best to make it a fair share. I don’t really know what of yours I can incorporate into myself yet, but I’ll certainly do my best.” Keeping her voice carefully quiet, knowing Yusaku couldn’t be heard, but she could be heard talking to herself, she got herself good and comfy before tapping the mouthguard for it to open up, starting to practically shovel popcorn into her mouth and abandoning any ideas that she might be lady like as she all but devoured handfuls of the stuff at a time, humming to herself in delight as she enjoyed the cinema snack. She would have ignited with charge, but Yusaku may have to settle for her natural output of constant static like charge, as she didn’t wanna be neon blue while people were trying to enjoy the movie.

“Maybe once the movies over you can tell me a little about what you feel I should do, or when I should let you take a hold. I wanna make sure you’re comfortable with this weird little persona we’re building too afterall. Ya never know, we may end up working at the same hero agency in the future, so we have to make sure we’re a strong team even now.~”

Yumi definitely did enjoy the movie. It was some sort of remake of an old rom com but definitely still hit the right notes while updating it for a modern age. It was just a little bit insensitive at one point, introducing the idea that you could ‘buy’ quirks, and the plot of the movie essentially wrapped around the main character being able to make anyone he touched fall in love with him except for the one girl he truly wanted, and proceeded from there. Ultimately though Yumi was able to zoom out enough that she could definitely enjoy it, smiling to Yusaku who filled an empty seat next to her, and when she was feeling really comfy, hooked her feet up onto the back of the seat infront of her. Not something she’d usually do, but the cinema was rather empty so she didn’t think anyone would mind.

Rising up from her seat, she let Yusaku cover her again before bending down to get the popcorn and drinks, always remembering the end of the Deadpool movie where Deadpool told them leaving their trash behind was a dick move and making sure to put it in the trash herself. Her eyes flickered ‘to’ Yusaku as he started to speak through her ears once more. “It had some risky ideas but I think it was a good enough time.” She said, glancing to a quirker who clearly was going to write an angry review about this, ranting to his friend before he even got out of the cinema, and then glancing to another who just thought the way the main guy finally won over the girl was sweet and dreamy. “Who knows, could be sequel worthy. The controversy will definitely mean it gets more views.”

Dropping her little in a trash can they passed, snickering at his suggestion. “Oh yeah, definitely. I mean its gonna be hard to get a hang of it, but I bet in time we’ll be working on eachother’s traits before we know it.” Glancing to him again as he went on to talk about how JackRabbit should be more of it’s own persona, she couldn’t help but chuckle and shake her head. “Look I’m definitely all for wearing you if you find it comfortable, but how about we see if this is a comfortable situation long term before we start making this some weird little thing okay? JackRabbit’s a cute little name, but I’m not quite ready to make her her own person, ya know?”
