STORYTELLER Incompetent, burden, sad excuses, all of these overflowing emotions only gave this old mistress a single goal in mind; discipline. On a friday of all things, she was even supposed to have a small vacation from the usual business, as a lady with power and might she always placed her life before others, but christ almighty did she think wrong. Never has she thought those two idiotic kids could drive her out from her home country England. The travel was long, and her private jetplane was top class. And with top class transportation required even more top class arrivals. On a private airport base outside of Tokyo her private jetplane landed around 11 pm. It was so late too, she wish she was in her bed and taking the day off, but with great power comes with great responsbility, responsbility for her own success. Yes, those two was her pair of successful soldiers, she hated to admit it but they are valuable and would be a complete waste if left alone here in Japan. Being their non-biological mother she wanted them both to exceed past her expectations.
Stepping out from the jetplane she wore a formal outside coat with a furred scarf and a wide crimson hat to show her taste of fashion, she was a widow with a pair of sharp yellow eyes. She gave out a frustrated sigh, letting the cold breeze hit her with around 10 guards already dispatched outside of the jetplane for her arrival and further travel. ''Update, now.'' She spoke demandingly to one of the guards, he took a firm pose and gave her the clear signal, they have acquired the location. ''Good, maybe Goro will answer me more clearly when I am facing him, and maybe I can finally figure out what sort of childsplay Nick's been doing. Mmmmn, I fear they both have already turned their knives towards me, a harsh discipline lesson shall do.'' She huffed when speaking, sitting inside the limo. The car quickly drove just how she demanded it. How long has it been already she thought to herself, even sending Goro to confront Nick she got nothing more than half assed reports and obvious lies, she should've been in raw rage and sent mercenaries at them for failing the most simple tasks, but as a mother she knew best. But of course she has attempted to get on hold of information from Tokyo, all from news and inside intel from her men, rumours has been told that her little Nick has been nothing more than trouble, molesting girls and doing low scum work in the city. She found this whole deal... a rather unfortunate one. Taking off her hat she loosened her snow white hair from the bun formation, the air in Tokyo was tight compared to back in England. ''Those two better not try not to pick a fight, I will personally drag them back.''

She’s here.
Nick could not remember the last time he had sweated quite as much as he currently was. Even if he had stood next to a furnace in a full winter coat he would not have been nearly as bad. His throat was as dry as sandpaper. Nausea built within him. His entire body trembled. The reason for his current dreadful state was simple:
Mother was in Japan.
This fact stuck in his mind and rendered him unable to think of anything else. Ever since he had received her message he had been a complete mess, ‘mess’ being a generous term.
Even so he made his way to the meeting point she had requested. He did not hide. Hiding from Mother was pointless anyway, though he would not put it past a certain idiotic bat to attempt it...
How much about his actions in Japan would she know, he wondered? Of course there were the things he had told her in his spying reports, back when he had been at Yuuei to create those, but there were certain other actions of his he would very much rather she had not heard about.
Sadly, he knew all too well Mother had many ways of finding out.
You caused this. You shouldn’t have kept ignoring her or replying with lies. You bloody idiot…
And Goro would be there too, most likely. His life just could not get any worse.

It'd been around a decade since Goro had had a panic attack last. The shortness of breath and horrible tightness in his chest that Mother's message had prompted were almost completely foreign to him. He tried to tell himself that he'd done nothing wrong, that Nick was the only one who'd screwed up and surely Mother had no punishment in store for him as well, but he knew that if that were the case, she wouldn't have told him to come to the meeting point to begin with.
Part of him wanted to bolt back to his hotel room, lock the door and cower behind his bed, but the hotel room was just as unsafe as anywhere else. The Underground was paying for it, after all, so she knew exactly where he would be. Hiding would only make his inevitable punishment even worse. He knew it was best to just face it and accept whatever Mother did, after all he'd certainly have deserved it, but that thought didn't stop his legs from shaking or calm his racing heart. Every erratic beat felt like a countdown to his own death, and every step closer to the meeting point seemed like he was knowingly walking off a cliff.
Even the thought that Nick would certainly receive a punishment far greater than his own wasn't enough to calm Goro. Direct punishments from Mother were rare, it was typically someone subordinate to her, so for her to fly across the world to punish them personally meant they'd both done enough to deserve her ire. If it was just Nick at fault, she would've told Goro to handle it.
He shouldn't have lied to her, Mother was smarter than he was and she must've seen through everything he'd reported the moment it reached her. This was certainly all his fault, if he had just done what he was told when he arrived in Japan, if he hadn't fucked up yet again like the constant useless failure he was, he wouldn't have needed to lie in his reports afterwards. Then the Underground wouldn't need to pay for him to stay in Japan, and Mother wouldn't have needed to come to Japan to discipline Nick, let alone Goro himself. But he had to be a stupid, terrified child that couldn't take the punishment for making a mistake, and this is where it got him.
The typical sounds of the street were drowned out entirely by the hammering of Goro's heartbeat in his own ears. He wasn't certain he would even make it to the location he'd been given alive; half of him was convinced he'd have a heart attack on the way, and the other half believed his inability to breathe would just suffocate him.
Even if he died right then and there, Mother would probably find some way to punish his spirit as he was dragged down to Hell.

STORYTELLER Oh they better be afraid the moment their eyes met, Amelia was expecting resistance, but unless they both got their tails between their legs still she would be awfully disappointed in them for not progressing. If anything this trip to them was a Wake-Up-Call, mildly said that is. But she was smart when it came down to fear and emotions, she knew how indivduals think for their own sake and life. Everyone is greedy or selfish, she was no exception, but in this case she was the one that would take the command. Their designated meeting point was nothing special, she just wanted a paceful place to do her disciplinary work. With the sky dark and most streets only having a slight of light from the streetlamps she was excepting to see them both in a lone alleyway. How was this alleyway special you may ask? It was located nicely inbetween an old factory that she has just bought and a warehouse where she had her men to set their necessary equipment up and running, she had plenty of future plans, but for now, she wanted to give the two young lads a proper greeting.
Her limo stopped infront of the alleyway, and with no light inside it was pitch dark in which she grunted over. ''Hiding in the dark? Or perhaps they are not there at all. Three, Six, seek out the alleyway, if they happen to be not there we will simply track them down to the ends of earth.'' She was honestly already prepared to know they both chickened out, Three slipped out a flashlight to seek out the two, flashing over the long alleyway there was nothing much other than trashbins or containers, it was a rotty hallway, was Tokyo in such a bad state she thought to herself. Holding by her nose she frowned the longer she waited. Were they really hiding all the way inside? She feared the worst, what if they have turned complete shut ins? That would only mean way more work for her to do, and the last thing she wants to do is to spend even more wasted time with these two. ''Mnnnnngh...'' She inhaled a bit and crossed her arms. ''NICHOLAS CROSS! GORO UTARI! COME OUT HERE AT ONCE!'' Like a true mother would say, form and powerful words that sent a direct shock of fear into anyone's spine, she had no more time to toss them, every second in this reunion she will count, one by one, she was simply sick of this whole mess they have created.

Nick tried to think of what he could say. He searched his mind desperately for an excuse, any excuse, but came up empty every time.
She’s going to kill me. She came all this way just to have the satisfaction of doing it herself, I know it. That’s the way she is.
And it would be in front of Goro, too. How even more humiliating.
He considered running and hiding, but what would be the point? She would find him eventually. She always did. He could feel the ache from the ghosts of the many bruises she had left on him from the times he had tried to run from her before as a young boy. There was a reason he had eventually given that up.
He could not even bring himself to look up as he arrived at his designated destination. He did not want to see the look on her face. Or Goro’s, if the idiot bat was already there.
Then again, they were both the idiots here…
He cleared his throat. It took a moment or two before he could dredge up the ability to speak. When he spoke, he barely recognised his voice as his own; it was meek, quiet and lacked all of the confidence he usually did his best to project.
“I’m here, Mother.”

Goro was but a few minutes late, but every single second that had passed between when he was supposed to arrive and the current moment felt like another needle stabbed directly into his heart. He'd be running, if the dread pooling in his stomach wasn't weighing him down. His heartbeat was faster than the steps he was taking, and it was taking all the control left in his body to keep tears out of his eyes.
He could at least take solace in the night sky stretching above him, however small a comfort it was. Had Mother requested this meeting in daylight, he really would've died on the way. Artificial clouds born from Tokyo's collected pollution blotted out the moon, almost as if denying the sky itself from him, a reminder of how trapped he was.
He could hear that Nick was already present before a he'd said a single word, but Goro couldn't so much as glance up from the pavement beneath him to see for sure. After Nick, Goro tried to announce his own presence, but it was as if every drop of moisture in his throat had evaporated in that moment, and all that came out was a stifled, pathetic sound halfway between a gasp for air and a rasp. He tried again, but his mother's presence alone was still making it impossible for him to speak. On his third attempt, he finally managed to force out actual words, as pathetic they sounded.
"My apologies for being late, Mother, I-I..." He couldn't finish speaking, his voice giving out entirely out of anxiety.

STORYTELLER They both had emerged among the messy sides of the alleyway, one of the bodyguards, Three, shun the light first at Nick then at Goro to verify their existance. Looking back at Amelia Three gave her a thumbs up, these two were indeed the real Nicholas and Goro, it wasn't the first time Amelia had to deal with doppelgangers, especially in the world of business. As for their greeting and choice of words, how pitiful she thought. Her sharp yellow eyes easily piercing through the dark shade from the building gave her a sinister look at default, like a fierce dragon staring at it's prey from it's dreaded cave. She gave the moment a few more seconds, the silence in the air was probably tormenting for both of the young males, she wanted to see how both did under the pure pressure of judgement, not that she was expecting much considering how shivering their voices were. ''Hm, that's it? How long has it been since we met? Got nothing more than words with no backbone? You two are in a way worse condition than I imagined, not only do you two not do your missions but you even have the guts to turn your back to me! And that applies to you too Goro Utari! Your lies are weaker than lousy kitchen mouse! There has clearly been no progress ever since you two got here, and to make matters worse I had to travel here myself!''
It was clear her tone got more aggressive for each hurting word she spoke. Taking one step forward she put her hands on her hips and gave the good old stare down in them both, showing might was one of her natural traits. ''And here I am, finally getting both of you to my presence, and what do I see? Incompetence!'' Her tone went from strict mother into a growling beast, her forearms starting to shape up with crystals, spiky sharp shards shaping a diabolic design, it had the draconic look with jsut three fingers. Those were the kinds of arms one should not get slashed by if they value life, she even looked ready to strike them both with raw rage. ''If it wasn't for my rich resources of intel I'd have to spend a gross amount of time just to get in contact with you! Explain at once for your childish decisions at this once! And Nicholas, my dear, keep your hands for yourself, you're meant to be a soldier of perfection, not a low scum molester!''

If Nick stared at his feet any harder his eyes were going to burn holes into his shoes. All the money in the world could not have made him look up. He wanted to be literally anywhere else but there. Even the centre of an active volcano would have been preferable.
Indeed, there was only one thing powerful enough to get him to look straight up at Mother in all her fearsome glory, and that was Mother straight up dropping the M word on him like a billion ton weight.
“I - I - what?”
What a way to begin the conversation. He was rendered utterly speechless, mouth opening and closing like a fish as he stared at her gormlessly. “How do you even know about that?”
Was there a point in asking? Mother always had ways of finding these things out. It probably had not helped at all that he had gone yelling at the girl in question all the things he wanted to do with her in a very public place.
He tried to think of an excuse, any excuse, or any way to dodge around divulging the full story, but his mind offered him only emptiness. He looked away from Mother, feeling himself begin to tremble and sweat even more than he already was.
“There was only the one girl. Her name was Rin. She was in my homeroom class and I thought she was weak because she really seemed to be at first, and I wanted to crush her more than anything to prove it - but she wasn’t. But by the time I realised that it was too late. Too late for her to care about me the way I had started to about her. So I abducted her one night. I just wanted to…”
To feel something.
“I just wanted to…”
Anything.
“Wanted to…”
He trailed off. He had no idea what to say.

The harsh light shone in his eyes brought forth a few tears Goro hadn't noticed were threatening to fall. The harsher silence that followed was far worse, though. It must have only lasted a minute, yet every single second stretched into an eternity. How long was Mother going to make him suffeer like this?
He realised he'd been wrong the moment her voice reached him. Silence was a blessing in comparison to this. Despite his mouth being almost certainly devoid of moisture by this point, he almost choked when she mentioned his lying.
He couldn't bear to meet her gaze, no matter how pathetic he felt avoiding it. Words, half formed apologies or excuses, formulated in his head, only to be discarded before they made it out to his mouth. What could he possibly say? An apology wouldn't be enough to atone, and he couldn't try to paint over his lies with another.
Simply hearing the crystaline talons come out was enough to make Goro wince as if he'd been slashed with them. He finally managed to force out some kind of strained apology, his voice still weak and full of fear.
"I-I'm so sorry, Mother! When I encountered Nick, he refused to explain what he'd done, and I-I-I assumed I'd be capable of getting it out of him on my own, so I didn't report properly! I'm s-" Speech failed him as the last words Mother spoke finally reached his brain, and Nick's response drove Goro even further into a silent panic.
"Wh-what?" He repeated under his breath, unable to process what he'd heard. In any other circumstance, perhaps he'd take some kind of twisted pleasure in the knowledge that Nick really would sink that low, that he was exactly as bad as Goro thought, but he felt nothing of the sort in that moment.
"H-had I k-known, I would've reported it immediately, Mother!" Anything Goro could say felt futile. He'd fucked up, and no matter what platitudes came to mind it wouldn't be enough. He was surely going to die tonight.

STORYTELLER ''Silence both of you! I've had enough of your excuses!'' Now they've done it, they have really made mother heated with anger, her deformed reptilian shaped forearms covered by many magenta coloured crystals and shards seemingly stopped to grow. She let both of her arms free from crossing and clenched her left arm up, just letting both Goro and Nicholas to hear the grinding glass crushing noise. It was that moment when both Three and Six stepped back away from the alleyway and stoof behind her with their arms behind their backs. They knew how Amelia approached to situations like this, blunt, rough and very upfront. Her eyes glared down on both Goro and Nichloas, as if they both were a pair of nasty bugs that was about to get stomped by her world crushing stomp. Raising her other arm up to do the same clenching grip, it was very obvious she was getting her body and quirk ready for some warm up session.
''I'll have you know, despite my age I have never gone downhill, and to see you two at such young age at a state like this... simply... makes me furious~'' In the midst of her rasping annoyed tone she brings out an outmost devilish grin that spoke terror in many levels. She took one step forward, and with silence this low her footstep on the wet ground echoe'd just so slightly through the alleyway before a darting force plows through the alleyway. Amelia was no longer infront of them, she had taken a dash right infront of Nicholas with a speed that would catch anyone off guard. She was no ordinary quirk user, but a veteran with polished edges that spoke quality. In the motion of her getting face to face with Nicholas her large right crystal arm in the shape of a dragon's front hand. It was so large that she was capable to grip the width of Nicholas' stomach. With a thrusting force both her and Nick ended a decent lenght behind Goro, holding Nick high up with her arm, the crystals stabbing onto him slightly, but not to the point of the true agony she is capable of doing, because right now she was holding him softly. ''Watch closely Goro, I am giving you a chance to prepare yourself for whats to come. And you, Nicholas, better have made your body durable..'' Now with new motion coming into play the Dragoness swung Nicholas 180 degrees, slamming his body through the fragile wall of bricks, whether he got his quirk activated or not was no matter for Amelia, it only meant she had to give a -bit- of extra force.

Nick was quite familiar with the signs of when Mother was about to unleash hell. It was a hell he had been put through more times than he cared to count. He could have identified the ear-piercing sound of her arms transforming from ten miles away.
Alarm bells shrieked in his mind louder than ever and yet his feet remained rooted to the ground. He knew exactly what was coming and it made him tremble with skin even paler than it usually already was, but he did nothing to resist. To run was to be a coward, and she would enact a greater punishment on him for that.
She was on him faster than he could blink, seizing him in her vice-like grip. The growth on his back spewed out its biological fluid with only seconds to spare. His armour had barely solidified when his back met the brick. While his armour had grown stronger, it was not enough to absorb the full impact. Pain exploded through his entire body worse than anything he could describe. Dust filled his mask's eyes and blinded him. He collapsed against the ground, every millimetre of his being screaming in agony. His mouth filled with the coppery taste of blood. He hacked it up against the inside of his mask.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck FUCK
The killing blow would come any second, he knew. He lay there, eyes screwed shut as he braced himself for the hammer to fall.
I deserve it. I’m pathetic. I can’t do anything right…
No sooner had he thought this, though, his mind flashed back to his fight with the slime-girl on Halloween. He remembered how damn good it had felt to break his limits like that and beat the little whore down. God, he wanted to feel like that more. All the time, even. It was a universe away from the miserable, grovelling state he was currently in.
His fingers slowly dug into the ground. He began to push himself up even despite the sheer agony that wracked his body. Screaming a dreadful wail that sounded like a mix of fear, despair and rage, he threw himself at Mother and unleashed as many punches as he could, without really understanding what exactly he was doing or why. Given the state he was in, though, these were not particularly powerful or well-aimed punches.

If Mother's claws just beginning to emerge was enough to make Goro flinch, the sound of her readying the claws was a thousand times worse. The noise of a million shards of glass being scraped against a blackboard invaded Goro's ears and refused to leave, even as he clutched them in pain. It wasn't the actual volume that was hurting him, but the memories the sound brought back. Memories of childish weakness and disobedience being beaten from him, when he wasn't old enough to know better. He opened his mouth as if to scream, but all that came out was a little choked whimper.
He wasn't looking up at anyone, but he was no longer staring at his own feet either. His head was still down, but he couldn't see the alleyway around him. He was in Tokyo no longer, but back in England, back to the day he'd almost died. The last time he'd been subjected to those claws. He'd still been too weak to run away, to try and fly up to where no one could hurt him, but he'd healed enough from what Nick had done to him that Mother punishing him wouldn't finish what Nick had started. But it had felt like she would've. Though they were but small scars now, Goro could feel every last gash and tear those claws had left in his wings burning all over again. There wasn't an inch of skin that didn't feel lacerated.
Beneath the flashbacks, he could still hear everything that was happening around him, and somehow it wasn't helping. Usually, he'd take great pleasure in hearing Nick in this much pain, but what little was left in his mind to actually perceive the world around him was just reminding him that the same would be inflicted on him at any moment.
Any moment now, Mother would deem Nick's punishment complete, and Goro would be next. And he'd deserve it, as well. He'd lied to her, he'd disobeyed direct orders, he'd... he'd...
The night's cold threatened to freeze his now wet cheeks, but the sensation only threw him further into despair. As far as he knew, the liquid on his face wasn't tears but his own blood, leaking from the jagged gashes that covered every inch of his frame. If any part of him were capable of rational thought, he'd be able to remember that the reality had never been this bad, and that his brain was almost certainly exaggerating out of panic, but unfortunately he didn't have that luxury.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." Goro repeated until it didn't even sound like a word anymore. Even if his eyes were open and unclouded by tears, he would've been blinded anyway by the thick fog coating his glasses.
Nick's screaming snapped Goro from his haze enough to actually look in his direction. The instant Nick dared to raise a hand against their mother, Goro's body moved on its own, rushing in their direction. He had no idea what he was even going to do when he reached them, but his instinctive loyalty to Mother was crying out enough that he couldn't just sit idly by and do nothing.
He made an attempt to tackle Nick to the ground, one hand aimed at his waist and the other at his throat. "W-what the fuck are you doing?" He hissed out, his voice scratchy and hoarse. "Y-you can't!" Can't try and fight back. Can't disobey Mother. Can't do something so against their nature. Goro wasn't sure which to say, or if any even properly captured what he wanted to. What Nick was doing was just, just wrong, so wrong he couldn't begin to describe it.

STORYTELLER Watching the few murky bricks fall from the newly created hole on the wall had her only sighing in disappointment. Not for the fact Nicholas wascrushed through the wall but the fact sh expected the building she had plans for to be at very least more sturdy. She held her left elbow with her left hand under her chin level, giving a glaring smirk to her side at Goro who stood there pathetically, in her sight she saw nothing more than a dog with it's tail between it's legs. ''I was actually predicting something like this would happen, but I did not expect you, Goro Utari, to tolerate Nicholas, if anything you've fallen just as much as him, or maybe even worse..'' Her words turned awfully cold at the end there, zero remorse or empathy to neither of the two young lad's situation, she only saw a burden that had to be fixed, one way or another.
With her magenta shards sticking from all over her arms she was ready to give Goro a brutesome lesson for his inexcusable behaviour towards his mother. It was really not the first time, but she usually had to hold back on her strenght, her children are too fragile which only meant they had a long way to go. The sudden yelling from insde the hole she created. Looking back at it she gave a frown. ''You're too emotional Nicholas.'' Before being allowed to tell another word she put her large crystalized right hand towards him, using it effectively as a shield for his mindless rapid punches. Each strike he gave to her crystal a sharp shattering noise built up, many fragments of the sharks fell from the floor as she endured the rampaging fest of his. ''Naive of you, I never taught you to spend your energy like that, what a massive waste.'' Right before she was about to slap Nicholas to the side with her left arm she heard a yell following up Nick's, but a bit more a crying kind. To Amelia she saw this as a stupid decision by Goro. A surprise for sure, if anything Goro only postponed her finisher that was meant for Nick. Right before Goro reached towards his reckless brother Amelia swiftly got her left hand appear infront of him, like a cloud that just got infront of the sun. Powerfuly she gripped Goro on his chest, both of her crystal talons takes root on his shoulders with her thumb locking around his torso, effectively making him incapable to move. Even if he got to move a bit her sharp edges was dangerously close to his skin, not that his clothes mattered.
''....Hmmh, now you've done it Goro, I was truly gonna take it a bit more easy on you, but don't try to act heroic, even if he's your brother.'' She kept feeling Nick still going crazy against her right arm, but with such little patience and even less tolerance she didn't hesitate to take full grab at Nick similar to Goro. Her hand opened like a predator going in for the kill, with explosive speed and strenght she soon had both of them in her hands, lifting them upwards to stare at them right into their eyes. ''Remember your place, that's the only singluar reason why I even bother with you two, as your mother I demand for you two to exceed yourself.'' With a gruesome attitude towards the two Amelia faced forward, staring inwards of the long alleyway. With a strong swing she flinged them both down at the ground, enough force that could knock any common person unconscious. The toss was as far as 10 meters, letting them both feel the cold wet ground. She huffed out as the many crystal shards on her arms began to shrink back into her body, crossing her arms. ''I will be around, these two buildings is where you will contact me, and trust me, you do want to contact me if you value your lives... oh and also, don't bother hiding, I know alot more than you two can imagine. Cheerio.'' Turning her back to them she began to walk to the classy limo, her bodyguards standing all ready and calm to excort her to next thing on the agenda, a lady of business is a lady with no motherly love.

Nick was broken out of his sudden frenzy by Goro of all people. The stupid bat came right at him and, though Mother stopped him from reaching him, it was enough to bring him back to reality.
He made no attempt to fight back. Instead he looked down at his armoured hands as though he could not believe they were real. What the hell had he just done? He had attacked Mother. Alarm bells screamed and wailed throughout his entire body. He trembled harder than if he were standing stark naked in the middle of the Arctic wastes. What he had just done was as unthinkable as pissing on the Kaaba.
I’m going to die I’m going to I’m going to die I’m going to die
Most of the voices in his head simply screeched this over and over with very good reason, but there was one much quieter voice that whispered to him you managed to damage her, though - and suddenly that voice was all he cared about.
For as long as he had known Mother she had always seemed larger than life, an unstoppable force of nature to which the world bended. Yet while his frenzied, desperate blows had not done any significant damage, he had seen the little chips that had broken off her body, and even miniscule damage like that was a shock to his system. Perhaps Mother was not so invincible after all.
Almost as though she could sense his sudden doubts, she seized him again and then hurled him through the air with all her strength. He landed heavily, and while his armour protected him from the worst of the impact, it quickly melted and receded from his form.
Failure. It was something he had known all his life and yet it managed to tear him apart every time. As he lay there and listened to Mother’s parting words and then the sound of her limo leaving, he wondered if it were physically possible to feel any more pathetic. He truly was weak.
Yet she had not killed him after all. This fact left him stunned and confused for several minutes. He had another chance, undoubtedly the last chance he would ever get. Somehow this filled him with just enough resolve to push himself back onto his feet. He hurt, everywhere, even blinking being enough to intensify the pain, and yet his feet moved. He shuffled like a dying man towards Goro.
“Listen here, you bastard. If you want to be useful for once in your meaningless life, meet me outside the Vega Arcade tomorrow at four. I have a plan. Don’t ask what.”
And with these words he made his way towards the exit of the building, his aim to return to Nari’s house. Did he have a plan? Well, something of one. It was time to put the ideas he had been pondering for so long into motion. Time to show the world who he really was.
He would make things up to Mother, and in the process ensure that all of Japan would know what she and he wanted.

Goro had rushed for Nick so fast, he’d only glimpsed what was actually happening. Only a split second of the crystal on Mother’s arm breaking actually registered in his mind, but it was enough to throw him off completely. For a brief moment, all the fear in his mind was replaced by confusion and confusion alone. It seemed as if his mind was shattering along with the crystals, it just didn’t make any sense. Mother was so much stronger than them, than anyone else in fact, Nick can’t be capable of so much as making a scratch on her.
A moment of revaluating his inner reality was all Goro got before the reality beyond his own mind dragged him out again. The pain wracking through his torso was enough to shut out his thoughts entirely, leaving him unable to respond as Mother scolded him. He could feel the very tips of her talons centimetres from the thin leather of his wings, threatening to tear them apart as she had done so many times before, and the mere idea was enough to leave him unable to even attempt to move. The talon grip was tight enough to immobilize him on its own, but the cold grip of fear was stronger.
“No, I-” was all he managed to choke out before Mother seized both him and Nick in her iron grip. He’d passed the threshold of immobilizing fear and had reached back to the kind of fear that left him trembling violently in her claws, silent sobbing leaving his throat scratchy and dry. The talon tips that had threatened to cut his wings before were now fully embedded, enough to leave holes, and every single nerve in his wings felt like it was aflame.
Another soundless cry left him as Mother threw him to the ground. The blood from his wings spilled onto the back of his suit, mixing with the cold mud as he hit the ground. He could only manage to lift his head for a weak nod in reply to Mother’s last command before he collapsed back to the floor entirely. Dirt coated the cracked lenses of his glasses, but pain had already blinded him enough that he barely noticed.
For what felt like an eternity, he just lay there, unmoving, as blood slowly leaked from his back and pooled around him. A tiny part of his mind was telling him that staying there would only lead to the holes getting dirty and infected, but he couldn’t muster the strength to even roll over. In the silence, his mind returned to the chipped crystal, repeating the moment over and over as if it’d make more sense that way.
Nick had managed to damage Mother somehow. Even if it were so small as to be insignificant, it was still leagues past anything Goro had ever conceived as possible. Both of them had always been pitiful flies in comparison to their mother, her mercy the only reason why they hadn’t been swatted long ago. Neither of them should be capable of leaving a scratch on her, but somehow, Nick had managed it.
Whatever conclusion Goro should draw from that information was beyond him, though. The idea of acting in any way against Mother ran so counter to his very being that he couldn’t even consider it.
He heard Nick manage to push himself to his feet eventually, which was enough to snap him from his pain-fuelled haze, and he finally managed to at least roll onto his side as his brother approached, wincing as the simple movement intensified the pain gripping him.
Goro was in no state to bicker with his brother, so when Nick spoke to him all he could do was nod again and try to choke out a response. It too him a few tries, but he finally managed to choke out an “I’ll see you there,” before his head fell to the floor again.
After Nick left, time seemed to lose any kind of meaning. It may have been minutes before he got the strength to finally get to his feet, or it could’ve been hours. With how his mind was, it felt like it could’ve even been days. But all the same, he eventually found enough strength to stand and start to make his way out of the building. He wasn’t certain of where he was going, whether he’d just head home to his hotel room or actually go to a hospital, but he was leaving.
Hopefully, whatever Nick was planning would be enough to redeem Goro in Mother's eyes.
