Halloween was and still is one of Miyu's favourite times of the year. Free candy, fun costumes, pumpkin carving... She wasn't too big a fan of horror movies, but there wasn't really much else about Halloween to hate. The moment she'd heard about the upcoming Halloween event, she'd rushed out to the shops. She had to be SURE she had the perfect costume this year. Thankfully, what she'd been looking for was still in stock, and she'd grabbed the very last one still on the shelves. She was in this costume now, skipping through the park practically shining with excitement. Ever since her Quirk had emerged, she'd absolutely adored Kaiju movies, but her favourite was Kamirex! The thick stubby tail on the back of the costume did throw her off balance at first, and she'd opted to wear the mask lopsided to get a clearer view of the world around her, but besides that she was in full Kamirex gear. She almost wished she could use her Quirk more freely so she could feel more like him; being so much shorter than everyone else just seemed wrong! Miyu's plastic pumpkin-print bag swung dangerously as she ran through the park toward the mansion-turned-haunted house, threatening to spill some of the hard-earned candy it was already stuffed to the brim with. Her costume had been a hit with the houses she'd stopped at on the way, and she may have used her Quirk a couple times to make it seem all the more authentic to bag some extra treats. The 'spines' on the back of her costume flapped in the wind as she approached the mansion itself. Haunted houses weren't something she enjoyed on her own; she didn't find much fun in being scared while she was alone, but with friends it was a different story. Unfortunately, she'd come on her own since she didn't really know anyone at UA yet. "Oh, well!" She grinned. If she wasn't there with friends, she might as well make some! Surely, other UA students had come too. Her head darted this way and that looking for someone her age.

You know, Halloween was a nice holiday for sure with all its fun activities and sweets. He used to love it alot when he was younger. He would stuff his mouth full of sweets and be constantly reminded to wash his teeth by his parents. Nowadays he couldn't really eat anymore as he lacked a mouth and a human body to actually process glucose but, despit that, Halloween was still a blessing to him.
Tip tap tip tap. One paw in front of the other, Yusaku timidly shuffled around the busy festival. It was true, his peculiar appereance would kinda blend into the many much more popular and eye catching halloween costumes yet he still was really nearvous around people. His feet still made faint metallic sqeaks as he walked around the park, while parts of his body still glowed in a greenish yellow light to signal his remaining energies. He was still almost topped off. Perhaps he could see if he could find a battery to snack on. They probably wouldn't sell LiPos, but Alkaline batteries were still very much apprecieated.
He had seen a stand selling those to recharge any electroics just a few minutes ago. He would just need to turn left at the intersection and...
...well it looked like the cat like android was lost. Turning his gaze up to look around in search for one of those map posters, Yusaku scrambled around. Signal wasn't all that good, and all the chattering around him would be too noisy and distracting if he tried to connect to the internet for info. It seemed like he would need to simply roam around until he went full circle and went back to the battery shop.
Wiggling in between a munch of much taller guys, the feline robot set off on his quest to find the battery shop. He had been walking for a good few minuts now, when he accidentally stepped on something soft and bumped into someone soon after.
He had been so lost in his own thought to completely forget where he was going. Lotsa things happened, and starting next week he would join the hero course at U.A., meeting his new classmates of class 1-B. He was wondering if he could just sit at his desk without having to stand in front of everone first for introduction when he stepped onto a costume's tail by accident.
Immediately coming to his senses, he jumped backwards. "Oh! Oh! I'm so sorry, I was distracted and-ACK!" He tried to say with his metallic voice, before stumbling on his own tail and falling on his butt onto the ground. He had been training a little, but it looked like he still had problems moving around in his body.
"Ow..." he added, even though he didn't really feel any pain at all. It was mostly an unconscious reflex as his mind was used to a human body, not a cybernetic one.
Trying to get back upright,he finally had time to look at what, rather, who he had just collided with. It was someone dressed up like a Kaiju, one of those mythical beasts of book and movie legends. The feline robot couldn't see the cosplayer's face, as they were giving him the shoulders.
"S-sorry again. M-my bad." He meekly chimed, shrinking on himself as much as possible. It was weird, though. Why was that Kamirex cosplayer just standing there in the open?

No sooner had Miyu turned her head than she felt a sudden weight pull her back and onto the ground. It took her a few seconds to realize someone had stepped on her costume's tail! Her first instinct was to pull it around and make sure it wasn't damaged, which thankfully it wasn't. It was plush like a stuffed animal, so it was just kind of squished. She brushed the dirt from her knees, picked her candy bag back up, and stood up, turning to face the source of the robotic apology. She almost squealed in delight as she took in the cat robot in front of her. While dogs were her favourite animal, she still thought cats were adorable and, weird robot or not he was still cat-like. She assumed it was some kind of elaborate cosplay, though Miyu didn't recognize what character he was even supposed to be. "Oh my God, your costume is so cooooool!" She rushed over to the robot, bouncing up and down slightly as she did so. "Who's it meant to be?" Only after did she even realize the robot was apologizing. "Oh, no, it's fine, honestly! No harm done! My name's Miyu, what's yours?" She put a hand on the robot's shoulder, trying to reassure him. Considering how cool this robot costume was, she definitely wanted to be friends with him. "Oh, uh, actually, I was looking for someone to go to the haunted house with! Do you wanna?" She pulled on the robot's shoulder as she spoke, as if trying to move him toward the haunted house.

The sudden burst of friendliness somewhat surprised Yusaku, who wasn't expecting that kind of reaction at all. He simply stood there, his projected eyes bouncing up and down his face display as they tracked the girl with aimbot precision. "I'm Yusaku. Yusaku Izumi. N-nice to meet you." He whispered, answering Miyu's inquiry on his identity.
Shrinking even further, the feline robot shyly took one step back. So the girl thought he was wearing a costume. Well, good. That is what he counted on to be able to walk around people without being given weird looks. He just had to come up with something...something that wouldn't raise suspicions. "Uuhm...well...it's...it's a N-n-nightshade costume" he sheepishly replied, fiddling his hand-paws together. "From...uuh...from an old manga. Blue Moonlight" he added, jumping lightly as the girl grabbed his shoulder and tried to tug 100kg of metal towards a haunted house.
All in all she looked pretty cute for a girl her age. She seemed rather perky and outgoing too. Yusaku was intrigued by her costume choice. His curiosity, though, was stifled out as soon as she asked him to visit the haunted house with her...just like that.
He didn't really know how to go about this. On one hand, he would have liked to simply excuse himself and run away somewhere less crowded. On the other hand, he felt bad for making her fall. As he looked down at his feet as he shuffled light while struggling to find a polite way to decline the feline robot noticed the dirt on Miyu's costume. He felt pretty bad about it. He had thrown her on the ground and ruined her cool costume.
He didn't really like haunted houses. He was terrified by them. Yet how could he say no. Maybe if he accompanied her there, he would be able to make her happy and remedy his prior error.
Isn't that what a hero would do?
"S-sure. Why not" he agreed to her request with a slow nod. "D-do you know where to f-find it? I...I'm kinda lost around here. There's so many people it's...difficult to move around."

Closer up, Miyu was even more surprised by the detail that went into the costume. The eyes even moved as if they were an actual person's eyes! She leaned a little to the left, and then all the way to the right, watching the cat's eyes track her.
Aw, he was kinda shy! Miyu supposed she might as well stick with this guy then, to help him come out of his shell. "Nightshade? Never heard of him, but he looks cool! I guess I'll look up Blue Moonlight when I get back to the dorms." She smiled warmly, lightening her grip on Yusaku's shoulder slightly.
He looked kind of apprehensive about the haunted house, as he hung his head and his LED eyes moved to his feet. But, before Miyu could tell him he didn't have to if he didn't want to, he already agreed. "O-oh! Okay!"
She grabbed one of Yusaku's paw-hands lightly, and began leading him toward the haunted house. "Yeah, there sure are a lot of people here, but I think it's this way!"
With Yusaku in one hand and her bag of candy in the other, Miyu suddenly thought of a good way to try and ease his nerves. She stopped and rummaged through her trick-or-treater bag for a few seconds before retrieving a full sized KicKer bar. "Do you want some of my candy? I have so much I don't think I'll be able to manage all of it before it expires..."

Yusaku almost felt bad for lying to her about him. In his 8 years or life as a robot, though,he had been in his gair share of bad situation due to what he was. Some people were so mean to him. "Oh but you're just a machine! You're programmed to do this this and that!" They said. Yeah. Those scenes were something he would avoid at all costs.
This girl, Miyu was it? She was nice. He jumped lightly as his haptic sensors iside his right paw lit up like a chrismas tree. She had just...she was holding his hand!
Istinctively he had lightly squeezed her hand in response, wrapping his digits around her. Deep down the little feline yearned for affection. Something like that to him was like luxury goods for people. As he gave in to her gentle tug and began walking beside her he remebered that his disguise would be compromised soon if he didn't do something about his hand paw. It was rather late at night, so the temperature was low. He didn't need clothes nor the cold bothered him, but his metallic body would be super cold too. Miyu would notice it for sure!
The green colored parts of his body began glowing, bathing the surroundings in a faint green light as energy quickly gathered in his paw, swirling around in his arm. In a matter of seconds his paw heated up to the usual 37 degrees of a human body.
He would hope to be able to play the initial coldness off, but he wasn't out of danger yet. As soon as he was asked if he wanted candy he would have gone completely white, if he actually could that is.
Looking up at her smiling face, then down at the candy, Yusaku acted calm despite his tail nervously twitching behind him.
"Uhm...T-thanks...that is so very nice of y-you, Miyu" he quietly replied, slowly moving his left hand-paw over to grab the candy bar. "I'm f-full right now. I ate alot of cake. But I'll keep it for later." He added, moving the candy behind his back as if to store it away...only to drop it into a toddler's pumpkin basket as soon as his new acquaintance wasn't looking.
Picking up the pace slightly, making sure he wouldn't trip on his own paws again, he moved closer to the girl in costume, stil holding her hand. He was beginning to really like her innocent and perky nature, he had to admit...even though she was leading him into a haunted house, something he truly dreaded.

Miyu didn't think much of holding Yusaku's hand. To her, it was just a friendly gesture, she hadn't considered that he could be taking it as anything more than that. However, she did notice for a moment how cold his paw was. Was his costume made of actual metal? How uncomfortable must that be? Before she could open her mouth to ask, the paw suddenly heated up to a normal human temperature. Perhaps she'd just imagined the initial cold. When Yusaku squeezed her hand, she squeezed back happily.
While Yusaku's response seemed reasonable, he certainly seemed a lot more nervous about it than someone usually would. However, considering how shy he seemed in general, Miyu figured it was just him worrying about disappointing her. "Oh, don't worry about it! I'll just share any extras with my roommate, then!"
The crowd was even thicker around the haunted house itself, as both guests queuing to enter and exiting visitors scared or drunk out of their minds milled about. The crowd didn't bother Miyu any though, and she continued to skip through the crowd until she finally reached the queue for the entrance. She was almost bouncing out of her shoes at that point, the tail of her costume flapping up and down wildly.
The big robot cat was clearly getting more nervous as they approached the mansion, so Miyu decided to comfort him. "If you get scared, don't worry! I'll protect you!" She beamed up at Yusaku, and squeezed his hand again. Despite the paw obviously being part of his costume, it seemed he could still feel her hand through it, so she figured it'd help.

Miyu couldn't tell just how much Yusaku yearned for affection. Eight years, he had to deal with anti quirkers. Eight years of solitude. No real friends at school, no real friends outside of school. Sure, His parents were still there for him. They loved him a great deal, even since he turned robotic. Still, he had been prettly isolated from other kids his age, mostly due to his fear of being shunned as a weirdo...as a nature's freak.
"Y-you'll protect me?" He asked, his dubious tone betraying a rather surprised facial expression. Then he felt it, Miyu was squeezing his hand tight. She was telling the truth. "D-do you have a...you know...special power?" He added, moving to stand closer to the little girl. "Like those weird powers that have been popping out recently?"
He probably shouldn't barge in private matters like that. He was really curious to know though. If she had a special quirk as well, maybe she wouldn't react badly if he told her that he was an actual robocat. Whatever her power would end up being if any, she sure had it easier. She looked like any other human girl, so she could hide her weirdness away if needed. Still, the fact that she could somewhat understand his current position was actually great news for Yusaku. Perhaps they could actually...be friends.
Still, it was too early to tell her the truth. If there was something Yusaku learned in all those robocat years it was patience. He still needed to be absolutely sure she woudln't freak out and make a scene in the middle of a crowded festival where everyone could hear and see. So, for now, the feline robot would keep quiet and wait in line to enter the haunted mansion. He still didn't like the idea of being spooked to death, but he could always just run through it eyes shut. If it was that one kind where you get in a cart at first he could simply turn off his hearing, look at his feet and pretend to be scared.
For now, he would just wait for her answer. For there was still time to come up with an anti spook plan later. Thy were still halfway through the line. He should also prepare something in case she asked him about his own quirk. he could say something easy, like...night vision. It wasn't really a lie, considering it was a filter option in his display. He wouldn't necessarily be lying to her again.

Yusaku sounded surprised by her promise. Miyu hadn't realised, but maybe Yusaku wasn't used to having so many friends because he was shy? Or maybe, he was shy because of some other reason that just happened to mean he was lonely too? Despite how open she was now, Miyu could relate to that. Her sudden growth spurts, and accompanying shrinking a couple minutes later, made her a lot more of an outcast than she wanted to admit. Thinking about it, she frowned.
"Special power? Oh, a Quirk?" Her usual chipper mood returned a moment later, "Yeah! It's why I picked this costume. I can grow HUUUGE!" She briefly let go of Yusaku's hand for a moment to spread her arms out theatrically. "Or, well, right now only, like, the height of half a telephone pole but I'm getting bigger every day! So, if someone spooks you, I'll just scare them right back with how big I am!" She giggled her way through her last exclamation, just trying to ease Yusaku's nerves.
"Do you have a Quirk?" She asked. Judging by how he'd phrased his question about hers, it seemed unlikely, but Miyu was still curious. She was starting to wonder if it had something to do with his costume, considering the influence hers had on her own costume. "Is it like, a cat thing? Or a robot thing? Or, uh, am I totally wrong and your costume doesn't have anything to do with it..."
Miyu trailed off as she tried to get a better look at the entrance to the house. Most of the people ahead of her in line were taller than her, and despite her bragging earlier she still wasn't one to break the law when it came to using her Quirk, so the best she could do was dart this way and that on her tiptoes trying to see around or over them. She wasn't having much luck, unfortunately.

Once again, Yusaku was glad he didn't have the ability to become white as a ghost. Was she onto him? No, it looked like she still didn't know. Stick to the plan and everything was going to be okay.
"O-oh. That's really c-cool, Miyu." He replied, sneaking in a convincing chuckle at he theatrical manners. "In that case I am more than safe! I have the big strong Kamirex on my side!"
He paused for a second, gathering his thoughts. Should he tell her the whole truth? That he was some sort of sentent, walking power armor? Once again, his mind told him to stick with his plan. "Well...I just see a little better in the dark. kinda like Night Vision goggles...but not really. Many details are still really fuzzy. I don't really think it's a cool power like yours." He meekly stated, kicking dirt with his feet-paw. "With that cool power you have you could even go to that school for special kids. The one that opened not too long ago, where Heroes teach you h-how to do hero things and all t-that..."
Then, his new acquaintance tried to look ahead to see what the entrance to the Haunted House was like. Noticing her struggle, Yusaku walked beside her. "I-If you want you can sit on my shoulders...this way y-you can see what's going on." He offered, his tone a little embarassed. "D-don't worry though. I am not strong as the powerful Kamirex, b-but I won't let you fall. I p-promise."
With that, Yusaku opened his paws wide, inviting her to climb up if she wished to do so. Either way they would have to wait in line just a little while longer before they could finally go into the haunted house.

Miyu blushed when Yusaku called her 'big strong Kamirex'. "Oh, I'm not nearly as cool as him yet, but I'll do my best!"
She was surprised by Yusaku's quirk. "Oh, night vision? That's so cool! You'd never have problems in the dark, like if there's a power cut you'll be able to see everything anyway! And you won't need to use your phone as a flashlight in the mornings or anything like that!" Yusaku seemed to not like his quirk much though. "Hey, getting into UA has nothing to do with just having an awesome power! It's all about being a hero, and even if your quirk isn't good in a fight it's still super cool!"
Miyu was a little apprehensive about climbing up onto the robot cat's paws. Sure, he said he wouldn't let her fall, and Miyu wasn't one to doubt her friends, but they had just met and she didn't want to make Yusaku do something like that for her right away. However, at the same time, she felt it'd be rude to turn him down, so she slowly and carefully climbed up onto Yusaku's paw/hands, laying her hands on his head to steady herself.
From this new view, she could clearly see the entrance. The line was moving rather quickly at the front, but she couldn't see very far into the actual house since the way in was shrouded in darkness and covered in fake cobwebs. As the movement in the line reached the two of them, Miyu carefully hopped off Yusaku's paws and moved along with the line, taking Yusaku's hand again.

So, she was from U.A too. That made the little robocat rather happy. That would meant that in theory, he would be able to see her again if he wanted to. Although, if he were to see her again, he would have to eventually tell her the whole truth about him. Sure he could let her find out by herself, but it would be worse than just being open and honest to someone he could actually be a friend with. For now, he would simply go through the Haunted House deal, maybe see if there was anything she wanted to do next before telling her he was the robot costume.
He gently helped her up, making sure to have a solid yet not too solid grip on her. His body could effortlessly lift a refrigerator over his head, so it could take her petite weight no problem. Apparently, they were pretty close to the end of the line considering she only spent a bunch of seconds scanning the area in front of them. He gladly grabbed her hand again once she had hopped back down to the ground. Giving it a light squeeze, he moved a little closed to the girl in the Kamirex costume as they approached the entrance of the Haunted House.
"Y-you know...even though I can see a bit better in the dark and I know it's all fake...it still scares me alot." He told her as they slowly walked their way in. "But h-hey, I got you with me, right? I'm sure everything will be fine."
The attraction was almost pitch black, the only few light sources illuminating the path forward and the safety exits. The more the two walked in the more nervous Yusaku got. It was all fake, as he said, but knowing that something was going to come scare him was only adding to the overall ansiety. The first few flashing light and loud booming noises were recieved with frightened squeaks and fleeing. The weird part with the spider was done eyes shut while following Miyu only thanks to her holding his paw. One after the other, the spooks and jumpscares were eventually dealt with. It was when the still trembling cat was making his way out of that nightmare that something unexpected happened.
Right at the exit, a robotic headless knight would swing a faux metallic axe over the heads of the people exiting the attraction. As soon as Yusaku saw what seemed like a bladed edge come full speed towards Miyu, he panicked big time.
"MIYU WATCH OUT!"
His tail wrapped around Miyu's waist in a second and forcefully pulled her back, behind him, now holding the little girl dangling a few inches above the ground. A fake tail wouldn't be able to grip things that fast or grip things at all, nevermind holding weights above ground. Yusaku intercepted what would have been a harmless swing with his left foreharm. The clanking of metal on metal could be heard as the axe's "edge" embedded into the robocat's arm, yet the cat robot did not flinch nor recoil from the momentum. He remained firmly planted, showing no signs of pain. A twist of his wounded arm and a elbow blow from his right arm was enough to snap the axe's head from the wooden handle.
Time paused from a few seconds. Finally, once nothing else of imminent danger seemed to be on the horizon, aside from the looks of a few bystanders, Yusaku settled Miyu back down. Dark brown oil was leaking from his wound, staining the blade and dropping onto the ground below. "Y-you ok?" Yusaku asked, getting a grip on the piece of metal lodged inside his arm and swiftly yanking it out. The axe head fell on the floor with a muffled thud, Yusaku's left arm still dripping oil. "Are you hurt?" he asked, trying to cover up the small cut in his armor with his other hand-paw.

Yusaku was still a lil' nervous, huh? Miyu moved slightly closer to him to comfort him. "Yeah, don't worry! I'm with you, so everything will be fine! It's just fake ghosts anyway, they can't hurt us."
Miyu wasn't afraid of the dark, but it was still kinda spooky to be plunged into pitch black darkness like this. At least there were fake candles acting as lights the whole way through, or Miyu certainly would've gotten lost. She wondered how Yusaku was doing, she could at least see his costume's eyes through the dark but she imagined it was even harder to get around in such a bulky costume, night vision Quirk or not. While she did her best to comfort Yusaku whenever he got spooked by something, she also thought his scared squeaks were kinda cute, almost as if he actually were a cat. Admittedly, Miyu was afraid of spiders as well, so when that part came she was a little scared, but holding Yusaku's paw made her feel a lot safer.
Miyu was barely paying attention to her surroundings as she headed for the exit, too busy chatting with Yusaku about something or the other when the 'axe' came down. Before she even knew what was happening, Yusaku had swept her up with his tail and stopped the axe dead in its tracks. His tail, that probably shouldn't have been able to move like that. Was this costume just really that elaborate, or maybe...
Yusaku put her down, but his arm was damaged, and leaking oil! "I'm okay, but... B-but are you? You're bleeding!" Before Yusaku could cover the cut fully, Miyu tried to lift his paw to get a better look at the 'wound'. Now closer to him, she spoke quieter, enough that only he would probably hear her.
"This... this isn't a costume, is it?" She didn't sound disappointed or angry, just concerned. Even in the dark of the exit, kindness shined in her eyes as she looked at the wound and then at Yusaku's face. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone if you don't want me to. I think it's cool, but some people are mean to mutant Quirkers, aren't they? Do you have, like, repair stuff at home or do we need to go to a mechanic?"

Yusaku was kinda uptight once his cover was blown. He looked at Miyu, observed as she reached for his paw and by doing so getting her hands stained in his own oil. He couldn't help but curse himself and his stupitidy. He had ruined her costume, he had basically been lying to her and now he probably had stained her costume in oil too.
Gripping his wounded forearm tight, the cat robot looked over to the girl. Man, he was one terrible friend. He never had been good with people, but he really screwed everything up this time. Since the truth was pretty much out already, he simply nodded once at her, confirming her doubts. That was no costume. Yusaku WAS the costume. "I'm fine. You should just get somewhere less crowded, p-please. Before anything else bad h-happens."
She could tell he was terrified. Truly terrified of others. A single look at his eyes could tell just how much he dreaded public opinion. He didn't want to stay there a minute longer, he couldn't look at people's faces at all. It looked like some sort of panick attack, one of the kinds you only get after traumatic events. Yusaku sure had one, and this situation looked all too familiar to him. He needed out. He needed out now before it would be too late.
With that said, the robocat boy turned around and swiftly began wiggling his way away from the crowds and away from the festival as a whole, before Miyu or anyone else could stop him from fleeing from the scene.
He walked and walked and walked. For a good half an hour, he crawled back in the shadows he was familiar with. Only stopping after the lights of the halloween celebration were but dots on the horizon. Stopping by to sit down on a random bench, he finally took off his paw from the cut to gauge its actual severity. Nothing major at least. He only needed to wrestle some electric tape out of one of his pocket and wrap his arm eleven times in a criss cross pattern. Done that, the oil leak was fixed, for now. He would develop a more permanent solution once he was back home.
His arm was fixed, but his heart was still in pieces. Miyu could have been such a great friend...yet he screwed up everything, as usual. He couldn't cry...but he really wanted to.

Despite her attempts at comforting Yusaku, he didn't look any better. In fact, he looked absolutely petrified. Miyu didn't even have the chance to say anything before he was off through the crowd. She didn't know what to do. The oil on her hand didn't even register, even as she ran out into the park. Who cares if her costume was a bit dirty? She could easily clean it back at the dorm. Meanwhile, Yusaku was scared and hurt and probably thought he'd screwed everything up.
However, any gaps Yusaku had left in the crowd while fleeing had already filled back up. Had Yusaku been dripping oil on his way out, Miyu still wouldn't be able to see it because of how dark the park was. She felt so powerless. She'd told Yusaku she'd protect him, and that there was nothing to worry about, and yet when it really mattered not only had she let Yusaku protect her instead, but he'd been hurt because of it. She couldn't even comfort him afterwards. Some friend she was.
And, all things considered, she'd been the reason Yusaku had even gone into the haunted house in the first place. This really was all her fault. She tried desperately to hide her tears behind the sleeve of her costume, but all she achieved was getting her sleeve wet with tears and snot. It suddenly hit her that she was a teenage girl, alone in the middle of the night in a park filled with people she didn't know. And that Yusaku was a teenage boy, alone and possibly lost in the night as well. He seemed to be a mutant to boot, so he could've run into trouble.
Still crying, Miyu took off running out of the park. She didn't even know where she was headed, and she had no idea how she was going to find Yusaku, but she couldn't just stand around crying and feeling sorry for herself when her new friend was doing much worse. The midnight wind was cold against her wet cheeks as she pushed her way through the crowd and out of the park, pumpkin bag still swinging in the air.
She'd been running for quite some time now. Her tears had since dried, and her legs ached like they'd never ached before, but she couldn't stop. If she had to run around all of Tokyo and Musutafu to find Yusaku, she would. She couldn't just leave him out in the cold like this. The pumpkin bag was starting to make her arm ache, and she'd considered just dumping it a while ago. Yusaku probably couldn't eat anyway, so the candy wouldn't help at all, but she thought if she dumped it Yusaku may think it was his fault and feel even worse when she found him.
When she finally glimpsed the robot cat sat on a bench, she almost started crying all over again, but in relief this time. She stopped running and carefully approached him, trying not to startle him.
"Y-Yusaku?" She was so tired, and her voice was trembling and quiet. She didn't sit next to him on the bench yet, in case he didn't want her that close. "Are... Are you okay? Are you still bleeding? I'm sorry, I-I said I'd protect you but I didn't, huh?"
