Kirk Bluster | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ One step for people that functioned normally and twenty steps for Rowan... not that she was prepared actually to take twenty steps. There was this part where you could simply train and she was okay with endurance but strength or anything was rather pathetic and she should just train in general. She had told herself she would pick up running in the morning but nothing actually happened and this open Military day, which had not started all too great, was a good start to do something. Her hair was still dripping a bit from the water tank but at least they had a hairdryer so that was on her, as she had wanted to be out of there as soon as possible and had lost Miku in the process.
She dragged her bag with her and her jacket now half falling out of it as she was definitely not prepared for all this, it was at least good that she had brought training clothing with her, prepared for everthing she was. She looked around into the combat compound, not sure if she wanted to do this but someone hit her on the back as if petting her and wondering what a petit girl like her was doing here. She wasn't even small, she was not wearing heels today though, but sneakers, she had them for running but she never used them so they looked very new in their black and pink colours. "I ehm came to train." She muttered because that sounded ridiculous coming from her. The man, who looked like a very enthusiastic being wonder out loud what she could do best and looked her up and down multiple times and mused out loud, she simply pointed at the thread mill, "I could start there." She wasn't sure if that was a good thing, "You should see the rest of the compound, that thing is old, we have so much more things to do, you should see that all before making a decision. We also have a boxing ring." She waved her hand in front of her face, not a good idea for her. She rather kept her skin clear and neat and not end up in the medical tent.
So this man, who later introduced himself as a Lieutenant, which made her even more embarrassed to get his attention, pointed out various things she could do and work on, because there must be something that she liked to try out. |

With all the things he had checked uptill now, the only thing that he had passing interest in that he had NOT yet checked, was the training grounds. Kirk was perhaps a bit weird as a boy when he wasn`t interested in any sort of gun or missile. But, he had always been a sportnut. There was just something exhilarating about moving and releasing all that energy in his body. The problem in this case was the fact, that after watching all those "Copper academy" movies and some other series with a specialized training ground like this... it was always accompanied by some jerkish fellow shouting at the guy doing his best to succeed. It never felt comfortable looking at it. However, he still had to make sure. If the students were let in to try these things, perhaps they had left the thing light on commanding officers? He was atleast sporty enough thats for sure, sporting his tanktop shorts and classic shoes. Now he just needed the relative peace to do his stuff with.
...When he got to the place, he saw some people doing things in there. Not any commanding figure yet. At first he was like "YES!" He could try out all the things quickly, and then leave! However, his eyes glanced over to an individual that made him sort of groan. There was one of those general types. He didn`t look too mean, that is for sure, but who knows when they get pissy. It seemed like he was outright nagging at some girl already... but wait a minute... the girl looked REALLY familiar! He smirked his eyes a bit... and YEAH! It was the girl from the store! Of course! She had already started getting nagged at!
He felt the strong effect of "Bro code" in himself, as he shouted: "SHE HAS DONE NOTHING YEEEET!!!" And charged forward, making the bit chunky guy outright flinch. "Hm!?" Kirk proceeded to straight up slide in between the duo like a proper baseballer sliding to the 1st base! He bounced back up nearly as quickly, as he proceeded to say things. "Come on dude! We are here to have fun! No need to ruin hers!" The lieutenant laughed a bit at the boy, with Kirk almost channeling his grandpa for a second. "What are you laughing at!" "Down, down soldier! I was just explaining her what she could be doing here today!" "...You were?" "Yeah, nothing to worry about yet!" He patted Kirk on the back too with a gentle chuckle, as Kirk scratched the back of his head in shame.
"You rarely get this sort of personalities from regular visitors. Are you here visiting together perhaps?" Kirk gave a glancing look towards the girl again, as he started waving his hands in front of his face. "No, no! I don`t even..." Kirk visibly blinked, as he now looked properly towards the girl. "I don`t even know your name actually!" He turned in her direction completely and offered a hand for shaking. "Kirk Bluster, from the eating competition!" The lieutenant proceeded to laugh heartily at this little bit silly interaction. "I can see somebody is a hero student. Diving into trouble just cause they see someone they know in danger!" He pulled out a little notebook as he scribbled something on it, with Kirk looking back at him quite befuddled. "Always nice to see that in teenagers!"

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ The lieutenant seemed to be rather disappointed that she did not wanted to join the boxing ring, he seemed to have more faith in her than she had in herself and she simply gave him a sorry smile and looked around as they walked a bit further and the lieutenant pointed out other ways to train, they had a VR room, the room would change to a setting that she could use to train, running, because that's what she suggested. He also pointed out other facilities and she was actually quite content with him explaining things, she would be less of an idiot in that way and Rowan perfered that very much.
He was rather enthusiastic and that was not her entire happy mood set after the diving problem and she wanted to ask something about that, if the lieutenant had an idea but someone seemed to be very loud and she turned her face to look at the person and realized that guy was coming towards her and stood in front of her as to protect her from the lieutenant. She leaned a bit forward and sidewards to look at the lieutenant with an apologizing smile; again. She had not really heard what this guy said and she did not recognize him from standing behind him but at least the lieutenant started to laugh so that was okay and she did hear what the guy said second, she recognized that voice. The lieutenant at least took it very heartly and happily and she couldn't help but blush like a beetroot as he asked if they were together visiting. Why did such assumptions always come and why did she turn red? She looked up at him now that she was able to see and opened her mouth in a silent o, now she knew who it was. She smiled, she knew his name because his grandfather yelled it but she did not want to point that out. "Rowan Sakamoto." She said, "Nice to see you again, champion."
The compliment the lieutenant gave him, made her slightly jealous. She wasn't good at doing something like that, she was the damsel in distress that always need saving. First Maxi and now Kirk. Wait.. a hero student? "You go to U.A.?" She asked surprised as she had not just realized that but if the Lieutenant said that, it must mean they be in the same year. She shook her head slightly as the lieutenant took the stage again but this time asked Kirk if he wanted to join the boxing ring, "Let me help!" She suddenly said which surprised the lieutenant but didn't say anything about her just waving it away a few seconds ago. "Let's first practice and hold a short match alright? I will watch over you two to make sure nothing goes wrong." That sounded good, no medical moment that is. |

It was nice to know the girl wasn`t exactly befuddled about him charging in so suddenly. That or the fact that he had pretty much come in without even knowing her name properly. "Rowan... Alrighty then!" He said, this time to have it properly memorized! He did blush a little bit at being called a champion though, striking his chest with his hand as a follow up. "Damn right!" He didn`t know how much he should brag, since technically she wasn`t a proper friend of his yet. But she was the one who called him a champion so... as a confirmation for him being a hero student well... He shrugged. "You hit the bullseye!" Perhaps he was being a bit braggy about it all, but hearing both the guy and her saying good things about him made him puff his chest.
Speaking about the dude, the guy continued babbling. Compared to what Kirk had thought he would be like, he was at most the sort of guy some others in his class would have told to shut up. However, with his demeanor being so friendly, it was hard to think anything even remotely mean about the guy. However, now he apparently started suggesting boxing under his supervision! Admittedly, boxing one of those sports he had never had a chance to properly try out. Partially because any chances for it were a bit too "underground" for him to even realize they were there. His curiousity was piqued... However, thinking that he was supposed to be punching Rowan AND the prospect of him watching really lowered his excitement. "Nah dude, I think I`ll just...!" However, Rowan got a word in first, and the guy just clapped his hands together saying "I guess that`s settled then!" Kirk couldn`t help but feel like for once he had been outspoken. "Alright then!" It had to be atleast somewhat fun then.
With the guy in front they were lead over to a simple boxing ring. It had the armys logo in the middle of it, and was surrounded by very springy ropes. "Just like in Stone Balcobra!" "Hmm? Wow, that`s an old flick I haven`t heard about in a while!" The man proceeded to pull the rope down for the youths to enter, as he also shoved his hand under the the ring... pulling out two pairs of big boxing gloves! "put these on, both of ya! These will make sure you won`t actually bruise each other up!" Kirk had already jumped into the ring, already hopping about. "Man... This ain`t no baseball field thats for sure!" The area was clearly much smaller than he had imagined. There was not much places to run... And for Kirk, that was the usual way he tended to attack: super mobile!
As he pulled on his own boxing gloves, colored bright blue, The bulky fellow immediately had something else in his hand. "Also, these protective helmets! keeps your heads from receiving concussions! Some of these quirk users tend to get a bit rough, if you catch my drift!" It was very awkward putting the helmet on with the gloves... it was almost as awkward as that time he had tried yoga... but that had gone decently well in the end so predictably, it did end up on his head. "Now, go to your own corners! I`ll start the match soon enough for you... I`ve got the bell and everything!" It was a bit patronizing, but perhaps things would feel a bit more fun when they got going?
"You ready rowan!? I promise I won`t hold any punches!" Well, atleast he hoped he could. If she was just a civilian, it would be dangerous to train like this... but honestly if she came here, she had to know atleast something right?

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Right right, how good would this be, she would not start with running, something she could do at home. If only she found a path that she would want to follow. She had not the idea to run through town because people would look at you. The idea that she would get some strength in her arms, her idea was to use the what was the official word? Pillows so Kirk could try out hitting, but that was not what the Lieutenant had in mind. Perhaps he was glad to see a tough girl but Rowan wasn't tough at all and not entirely excited, she was wearing a crop top and simply black trousers and sneakers. This wasn't the perfect outfit to start a boxing match. She always found it funny to hear people say her name, it gave her a strange sort of ego boost when people knew her. Not that she believed she would be popular, she was trying very hard but at the point nothing much was happening, there were more people nicer and more popular.
She was trying her very best though, calling Kirk a champion was one of those things. How much of a champion were you really if you won an eating contest? She didn't bother too much, perhaps it was something special, now that she figured out he was a U.A. student, she was rather curious about what his quirk could be, but as he did not ask her back, she shrugged it off and focused on the problem at hand; she had volunteered. Her big mouth, too fast for her brain to continue thinking of the problem.
She followed the two tall guys to the boxing ring and looked at it, turning a little bit pale because of this idea, but she could learn a lot, that was a good thing. She had no idea what they were talking about as Kirk made a reference to something she did not know. "Ehm.. ehm.. can't I just be the support?" But the lieutenant laughed loudly, "You are not a boxing ball, miss." Haha.. very funny. Her boxing gloves were red, very fitting to her own look normally, red was her favourite colour but at this point, blue would have fitted her green shirt better. She took the gloves but wasn't as quick as Kirk and first worked on the helmet, that would screw up her hair, so she pulled the hair tie out to make sure that the knot wouldn't hurt her, putting the tie in her pocket and put the helmet on, looking how Kirk struggled made her giggle a bit, out of nerves as well as because it did look funny. She took the gloves with her to the corner that was pointed out to her and quickly put them on, they were far too big for her tiny slender hands and she couldn't get them to fit better.
"Not sure if I ever get ready." Best to just make him tired and avoid all punches. She should not get agitated and explode the boxing glove because who knew what would happen. So she took a deep breath and waited for the bell. She did take a few steps away from her corner, because else she couldn't back out and avoid. She needed to make a plan, but her mind was blank. |

The chunky fellow looked on, as the duo of confused youths made themselves tiny bit more... well professional was definitely the wrong word. Prepared was much more well fitting. His hand momentarily went over to his chin, as he wondered something. "Now, remember! Use your quirks as you see fit! Nothing to worry about here. Even If a blow flies towards me, I`ll let you assume that I am much more agile than I look, hoho!" He tapped on his stomach. Surprisingly Kirk could very much believe that. "Army trainings some proper efficient stuff!" "You get it! Now, You guys ready?" Kirk stood up, and tapped his fists together... man, they felt weird. He hopped in place. That atleast was still natural. For now a lot of things were running through his head. The way Rowan said she herself wasn`t exactly ready did make him a bit less wanting to punch her... It honestly didn`t seem like a fair fight! He kept glancing towards the chunky man, wondering why he was pretty much okay with this.
"3, 2, 1...!" And then, he pulled out an actual bell used in boxing rings, as he pressed the button, and a loud "DING!" sounded! The round had began!
However, instead of outright going for her, Kirk proceeded to instead just bounce around her. Wide step after wide step. "Good speed, good speed..." This continued for a while... quite a while actually. Kirk was hesitating quite a lot. "Come on now, don`t you worry about her! The gloves should make any direct contact just a bit mean push!" With that in mind... Kirk proceeded to wind up his first punch... very obviously way too behind, as he proceeded to slug it forward towards Rowan. Almost like a test to see if the guy was telling the truth.

Kirk Bluster | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She was absolutely not certain if she liked this, well actually she was certain that she hated this idea and that she wanted to do something else. Couldn't she be the punching bag, give her the right equipment and Kirk could try and hit her instead of her giving the initiative to be able to hit too. She felt that she was getting warm and agitated, though that was not mostly Rowan as it was the Burning Lady that was done listening to her whiny behavior and thought that she would be able to do and win this if she only worked out how to do so. She felt uncomfortable with the way the bitch spoke in her mind. Rowan was competitive, that was true but the burning Lady did not make it easier and she was sure that if she did not keep her hold on the quirk's control, she might accidentally blow up the boxing glove and hurt Kirk in a way that was not according to plan, she shook her head minimalistic, not visible, it was not the idea to hurt him! Her quirk did not fit something so casually, besides the boxing glove was in the way of that and she did not feel the need to take that one off and hurt herself in the process too.
She could only not when the lieutenant asked if they were ready and she watched Kirk with big golden eyes. She was resolute about the idea of having to make a plan, she had to avoid hurting him because the Burning Lady wanted that, but her grip on her alter ego was difficult. She waited for the sound that they would be able to go and made that immediate step out of her corned. She had to have moving space, else the avoiding plan did not work. But Kirk used that idea to hop around her, which annoyed her alter ego more and Rowan tried to calm down, mostely fighting herself than actually being in this boxing ring. The good thing was that Kirk might be a bit too much in old movies as she could see his exact move and she could dodge that easily and move her own right hand, forward to hit him in that case. |

Honestly, Kirk could very well imagine himself having fun with the situation, if it wasn`t for the fact that he was trying fight a pal whose name he had just learned... Being in the ring doing the actual boxing was propably quite a few kids dream when they were small! Kirk had at most done some shadow boxing against a wall, And nobody would actually call that boxing as much as random swings through the air. But, since his body was so muscly, even a structurally weak punch like that would propably deal some damage! There was some interest in hitting Rowan bluntly, just to see how much damage it would actually do...
Although he missed completely. "Huh?!" Rowan had skipped his attack entirely, and soon after, he felt a punch against his chest! He was pushed back, as he brushed the hit spot with his own glove in confusion. "Told you boy! The girl packs some dynamite in her gloves! No need to go worrying!" The man was smiling widely. Kirk awkwardly pressed his glove against his head in response. "Of course...! Sorry dudette!" At this point he should honestly know not to underestimate hero students... Risaka and Tetsuko had already given him a lesson on what they could do. Rowan was most likely exactly same. He pounded his gloves together with a brief "Pang"! "Here I come again!"
Their teacher observed, as Kirk proceeded to charge forward, this time seemingly going for a bit bigger amount of punches, 5 infact. Instead of just slugging for one big one, this time he was doing many of them, without much build up,. The man chuckled. The boy must have been quite straightforward. If a strong hit didn`t work, weaker hits were a classic compromise to make. This time he would maybe get atleast a couple of hits in, although he would expect them to not actually do too much damage. "Good effort again!" He proceeded to scratch his chin intently. He wondered how Rowan would actually react... Maybe he should remind her just in case...
"Remember, if you feel like you are getting overwhelmed in an unusual situation, using your quirk might get you out of the pinch!" For a hero student, this was propably almost beating a dead horse level of obvious. He had a certain amount of curiousity in his eyes. What kind of powers did these students have?

Kirk Bluster | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ It did not all go according to plan, all she wanted to do was make Kirk tired and just avoid punches, for some stupid reason that was unknown to the leading Rowan, she had made a punch. Which was a strange idea and she was called dudette, something that she had never actually heard before. She had heard someone say dude in the shopping center but it was a weird word that did not sound familiar and she was not even sure if she had read about it, she knew what it meant. Rowan figured that this must be the female version of it and that people would likely make up such things and she simply tried to ignore it.
It was the Burning Lady that was annoyed by the whole ordeal and would want to fight back. Where Rowan had wanted to avoid by simply stepping aside at the right moment and right time, the Burning Lady wanted her to stand still and simply fight back, it didn't have to be according to the rules and she would throw in a kick or so, which Rowan told her was not possible with boxing but the hatred woman did not care. Rowan remained standing, trying to block the five punches that followed with her own gloves. She did not want to use her quirk, afraid it would only do more damage than that it actually helped to use. Why had she volunteered to help if she was not good at this? It felt uncomfortable in the clothing she was wearing and she already had a feeling she did not belong at the hero school, leave out fighting classmates or well he wasn't in her class but they were in the same year so all good. Besides her quirk would not help, it would blow up the glove and she would only have him distracted. She moved, avoided the last punch by simply ducking out, the good part of being a small person. She could quickly move aside, although perhaps not fast enough but that was the internal struggle that was going on. Just hit him!
So she tried to copy, move her hands in front of her face to protect it and make the same quick moves now that she moved to the side as Kirk had done, a quick reaction had to help to make something of it. If only she was stronger... |

It was most definitely gonna be hard for Rowan to take all the little punches. Even with her quick movements, she would propably feel the glove flatten strongly against her fingers from the pounding. Kirk on the other hand was just repeatedly reminded, that this girl was no pushover. She was keeping up with his combat very well... It was just so weird to punch things with such big hands... However, with the last dodge, she bounced to the side again, but this time Kirk was ready! Like swinging a baseball bat, the boys body turned in a wide axel, with his arms in front, as the girls punch just clashed into his gloves. "Good block! Although you left your other side open!" Kirk shook his head. What did he mean open!? He did well!
However, the bulky man continued rubbing his face. Neither of the students had even tried to use their quirks yet. Usually the students were quite open about them when pitted against each other, but this time the duo was pretty much just awkwardly trying something they had never tried before. Were their quirks just that dangerous? Admittedly, it would make sense that they would be a bit scared... but they wouldn`t get better if they didn`t even try. He needed something to make them get curious themselves...
"Going good. Come to think of it, if you are heroes, you don`t wanna necessarily hurt your target!" Kirk turned his head towards the dude for a moment with a confused look on it. "It`s not like your duty is outright hurting people" He proceeded to lift his index finger. "However, you could use your quirk to perhaps catch your foes attention! No need to hurt the guy outright, if you can just slug em on the jaw, you get me?"
Kirk proceeded to defensively lift his gloves up, as he started bouncing from side to side. Guess he was trying to think, yet keep his head in the game. a distraction with your quirk, huh? Now how would he be able to do that with his quirk always being on his backside! The fighting was happening in front of him, not behind him! Maybe if he could extend it wider? Nah, that was no distraction, that was him making himself just a bigger target! The momentum continued, yet the guy was as distracted as ever.

Kirk Bluster | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She already felt tired, which would be bad to admit but those gloves weren't the easiest to carry and besides that they still felt a bit big, thank god it was not a glove where her fingers would be too tiny to reach the upper part. Not that this was exactly comfortable but Rowan told herself in the back of her mind that it would not do well to dwell on such a thing, as nothing would change. Those tall and broad fighters of the militery, if the lieutenant was a good example, would not have smaller boxing gloves for a woman like her.
As she thought that she was the smartest of the two, this was only based on the fact that a he was a guy that got excited about food, scolded by his grandpa and was now here in the boxing ring with her, it wasn't really a fair judgement but it was Rowan after all. She was surprised when her hand was caught by Kirk's block, she blinked a few times rapidly in surprise and stared at her hand, she stared at his left side that was open but she had no use of attacking him with the possibility of swiming a kick, which she wasn't good at nor would she be tall enough probably to hit him really, as apart from that using her quirk was no option. Perhaps if he really was an enemy.
She took a few steps back and looked at the boxing gloves again, pouting a bit with a disgusted look on her face, she needed to remind herself that she needed to correct this, "That looked very cool," She said with a small smile as she tried very hard to be friendly and especially to ignore the burning Lady who was furious in the back of her mind, something about burning and frying and exploding for that winning point that he did not deserve. She wasn't even sure what the rules of boxing were and if it could be considered a winning point but her other side did not really consider that.
Her track of thought was interupted when the lieutenant spoke again and she stared at him, not necessarily hurt? What's the point of fighting in a boxing ring if you don't want to hurt someone? But she ignored that as well. She thought hitting Kirk on the jaw would hurt just as much, if she would have enough power for that though, perhaps this guy had an iron jawline and it would only hurt her hand more. Her golden eyes quickly looked at Kirk and threw up her hands to protect her own lower part of her face with the red boxing gloves. She did not want to attack, her strategy was still the same; make the person tired. She wondered if she could easily sneak off the glove to distract him indeed to use her quirk on an item, but she did not have an item.
Just burn that stupid glove! |

There was a brief stalemate, as both sides of the stage just proceeded to block. Their spectator couldn`t help but laugh a little bit. "You two are really a magical pair, aren`t ya?" "Nngh!" Kirk answered, almost like it wasn`t annoying enough to keep getting pestered about not using his quirk. He really couldn`t come up with anything. His hair was rising up in annoyance, as he hopped around a bit to calm himself down... However, the one giving him help was adamant. And looking at rowan, he could see she had left her underside open. "Come on boy! Focus! Nows time for your coup de grace! Maybe a rocket punch! What do you have in your arsenal!"
Kirk smacked himself gently with his own glove. "Just utility!" The man raised his ears. "Utility? What kind of? Come on, try and use it!" Kirk was starting to get real awkward, as his attention was trying to jump between rowan and the man. He just briefly shook his head in his direction, with a big "NOPE! It won`t be of use!" "Are you sure?" "YEAH!" The man layed upon the ropes, trying to look at Kirk, and giving him a friendly and figurative pat on the back. "Come on boy, if it is utility, that means it can be used for pretty much anything!" The words were supposed to be encouraging, something to inspire the boy to atleast try his quirk out. Whatever it was, if he could get it out, the boy would propably feel a bit better about himself. Come to think of it, maybe the girl had some issue of her own. For not using her quirk. "How about you? Everything al..."
"Bah!" an uncharacteristic sound came from Kirks mouth. At this point he was absolutely steaming with annoyance! "Seriously! Who cares if we use our quirks anyways!?" He lowered his guard for a moment, as he outright proceeded to shout angrily. And taking his usual sound levels of speech, this was LOUD! "Its not like its ever gonna be useful in combat! ITS JUST A SACK OF USELESS MUSCLE THAT EITHER HOLDS STUFF OR PUSHES ME AROUND!" He smacked his gloves together. "I`ve got these! Why would I need to use it for fighting, when it isn`t gonna do anything!?" The man opened his eyes wide. He had not expected this kind of reaction! "Well... you see, it might help you come up with new ideas if you..."
Kirk groaned. "Okay, heck it! I`ll just show ya!" He pulled his fist back, and this time at full power with no hesitation whatsoever, hurled it towards Rowans stomach! This was gonna hurt if it connected!
For all this time, Kirk had gotten praised for his quirk by his classmates. According to them it was very "useful" and "handy". At first, Kirk had pretty much thought it was great! Compared to being bullied about it when he was younger, It was a nice change of pace, and he felt outright respected for it! However, the more he heard it, the more annoying it had started to sound. Why? He didn`t see it. Not even a single bit. When it was too windy and open, it slowed him down! He could push it out and draw it back in. AND its primary function was literally to hold his things in it! HOW could it possibly be handy!? It was a reason he had started working out. And it had gotten people to stop bullying him and thinking he was cool. "SEE!? I don`t need to use it to keep up!"

Kirk Bluster | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Rowan did not know what she should do at this point, the voice in her head did not stop. It needed to stop, that was the whole idea, it would only be better if there was no Burning Lady but at this point, she was simply screaming in her mind:
BURN! BURN! BURN!
It was just as if she was listening to the lieutenant who was trying to push them to use their quirks. She couldn't, she did not want to, they would rather end up in the medical treatment if she would do so, it would probably be too much of a problem right now and it would burn her up and she did not feel like doing that at all. She could see the frustration on Kirk his face, it was that he was clearly displaying it and the taunting version that the lieutenant made, made it definitely not easier. She could easily ignore him but Kirk perhaps not so much, it was that the Burning Lady was doing it to the extreme that the lieutenant made it easier to handle, the nagging that is. She didn't do anything, it wasn't fair to try her punches now and that wouldn't be doing good to herself as he mentally was fighting with the lieutenant. It were just words but, she understood, where she was afraid of the power, he handled a utility. She wanted to say so much, but it was not her time, nor her place to say anything. She had made that mistake already before by talking to the same guy's grandfather out of her place. She could not do the same right now. She looked up too late at the lieutenant when he spoke to her, mostly because her eyes were no the gloves, making sure they were not exploding yet. At this point, nothing was going on, she heard Kirk and her golden eyes quickly turned to him again. She agreed with Kirk, didn't they have to know how to fight, defend themselves, quirks weren't an optimal use if they were running out of time. Her hands would start to burn and she would be of no use with the fatigue and nauseous feeling that would come upon her. This guy didn't understand a single thing about it and she wanted to tell him so badly! Thank god she did not as Kirk was speaking.
As she was still in her mind, she did not see the hurling back and forward towards her on time. All she did was lower her hands and the gloves exploded. She could shut her eyes on time and she turned pale, staring at her hands, she had not felt anything, no hands or fists against her but actually her mind had not registered anything at all, so she might have simply missed and would wait for the reaction of a pain sensation but... she was starting to breath quicker because, she had used her quirk.. twice at the same time with both her hands. What would they say... her feet were not able to move but she wanted to run. |

Kirk was way too agitated to even care how low his blow was. First he spends all this time saying whats on his mind, and then proceeds to punch towards a girl, who had been just quietly following up on whatever he did. She was pretty much an outsider to all of Kirks agitations, yet sadly, she felt like the only target he could take his anger out on! Someone who he was supposed to fight anyway! That`s how he had always done it when frustrated... directed it into doing something else. But when backed into a corner like this, where he could do nothing else, the only thing he could use it on, was shouting, and hitting...
What he wasn`t expecting, was what happened next. All the talk about him not needing quirks to win a fight, and he didn`t even think about the one thing... The girl he was fighting against obviously had a quirk too! and 90% of the time the quirks he saw were much more potent than his, and this was no exception! Before his fist even made contact, he could hear the big boom vibrating his eardrums! sudden blast of heat engulfed his glove into the flash of light and smoke, as he continued pushing his fist through it, feeling the hit on the girls belly (presumably, it was hard to see anything through it...), but even more so a searing feeling on his skin. He pulled his hand back, as he noticed the glove had pretty much been completely destroyed... "Hngh!" Okay, whatever her quirk was, it was bad...!
As the smoke evaporated a bit, he could see Rowan still standing... but with a blank look in her eyes... Had he caught her off guard?! This meant, that maybe she was all open! He could finish it in the next blow! "And as a finisher...!" He pulled his left hand with its glove behind as he swung it like trying to make an uppercut towards the girl...
Only to get clutched from behind by army trained arms of their overseer for this match. He pulled Kirks arm behind himself, and held it tight. "Ow! Hey! You wanted me to finish...!" "Have some common sense, boy! I told you to knock her out, not to pound her!" "...Wha?"
The man had been looking on horrified as this thing had happened. He immediately understood why the girl didn`t want to use her quirk, as she just stood there like a bleached scarecrow. He had truly underestimated the potency of it... and how volatile the boy would be for a little bit of coaxing. And seeing the boy outright forget, what he had said about going too far with villains, and preparing to strike a girl who was so clearly down, he had to take action. "Let`s call the match... I get it, you are strong. No need to show anymore of that... I don`t want either of ya getting too hurt! Just stand back for a bit" Kirk was befuddled, as he walked backwards into his own corner, and slumped leaning into it. Wasn`t he supposed to beat her? To end this? Wasn`t that the point? What`s going on? The burns on his right arm were starting hurt a bit...
The man walked over to the Girl, and patted her gently on the shoulders. "Hey, everything alright?" He waved his hand gently in front of her face. "How many fingers am I holding up?" He held three fingers. His voice was gentle and calm. "Everythings alright... This kind of thing happens..." The safety of the situation was a priority. "Maybe I should have asked you more clearly before just forcing you blindly into this..." He was seemingly mumbling his own things in there. He felt awkward to say the least.

Kirk Bluster | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She could only stare at her hands now, the part of the gloves that still existed after that explosion had dropped off her hands and were just strokes of red, her shirt had holes in it, sort of scorch marks from her own quirk and her hands were turning bright red to pale again. Probably an after effect from using the quirk twice at the same time. She stared at that, no eyes or ears for anything else. They were slightly shaking, her hands, she could not hold them still. What had she done, would it be the same again? Would people avoid her, not wanting to shake her hands even if it was polite in Britain, afraid that it would hurt them with her hands? Would it start all over again, yet while she tried to make friends? A better impression. Shit, he was at her school, this would spread, they would all know, what would Kanna think? What would Miku think?
She felt a pat on her shoulder and blinked a few times to see someone waving a hand in front of her and she looked up to the lieutenant. He did not seem to be afraid of her but he would have had his experiences in the world, wouldn't he? Perhaps there was hope? Her golden eyes looking past him at Kirk shortly, before turning her gaze back at the man next to her. "Three." She answered softly and she tried to shrug it off when he said he should have asked her more, "I just didn't know what else to do." That must have been it, it was out of protection, for she had not noticed the hit he wanted to make, she now suddenly felt her body telling her that she had been too slow and that he had hit her stomach and that did not feel very nice, to say the least. Thank god the Lieutenant was holding on to her when she felt that the freeze of her fear about using her quirk had faded and she stumbled. "Is he alright?" She asked the lieutenant, not sure if Kirk could hear her but she must have burned him right? Or had she miraculously missed?
And now she finally realized why she also felt satisfied, finally, the voice of the Burning Lady reached her. That was rather satisfying, let's do it again! But she did not want to do it again! What point would it have been to show a nicer version of herself if she would just burn them all with her quirk when they were close enough for her to touch. |
