Miku had some free time, so she decded to use it. Have some quality 'me time'. She went to the shopping district as per usual. She would only look at the items at various stores, but not buy. Today, she went to a store for gaming. A place with consoles and plenty video games. Miku could obviously not afford a thing, but she had fun just looking... watching and dreaming. Sadly, she'd have to settle on watching Lets Plays or Walkthoughs on the internet to enjoy some triple A games. After some time, she decided to leave and go to another store. A toys store. But, on the exit of the store she bumps into someone she didnt imagine to see... Akio of all people
She didnt peg him for a gamer, but then again, she barely knew him. They met once or twice. But usually something else was the main subject, either the cooking club or Haruuhi who was under the influence. So.... maybe Akio was a gamer?
"Hey there! What brings you here? Looking for a game?" she asked him a generic question. Sure she was curious why he was here. But it was obvious he game to buy a new game or console.

Akio was walking along the streets of the shopping district, today was the release of a new game he wanted Man, I've been waiting months for this, I can't wait to get my hands on it he thought smiling to himself, he saw the game store in sight, as he was walking in, he felt someone bump into him, he looked down and saw Miku "Oh hey Miku, yeah there's a game releasing today that I've been looking forward to getting," he explained "What about you? Looking for anything in particular or just having a browse at what they've got here?" Akio asked, that's when he remembered their last encounter "How's Haruuhi doing? That was a pretty scary day, everything was just going crazy," he asked, remembering how crazy things had gotten, between Haruuhi kissing everyone and Maxi creating pillars of ice everywhere "Hey, are you free today? Do you want to hang out for a bit once I get this game, I've got nothing else to do and spending time with someone else is better than spending time alone, we could even get something to eat if you wanted?" Akio asked, he didn't know Miku too well and wanted to get to know her better

Oh! A new game! Miku had an idea of which one he talked about, but nevermind that! She needed to answer a question or two
"I usually browse and see what cool stuff the store has!" she tells him with a smile, he then asks about Haruuhi and how is she doing. "Thank goodness that she's better" she then blushes a bit out of embarassment "Sorry for that mess with her kissing you. But at least she stopped. Honestly, I havent mentioned that to her since she got better... or whatever the drug word is for sober."
And then suddenly Akio asks her if they could hang out! Oh how exciting! She never hung out with a boy!... Unless you kinda count Kogami since they shopped together. Ah what the heck! Onward to adventure!
"I am free today! So sure we can hang out! I can wait for you to buy your game" she says as she thinks how lucky he is to be able to buy games. Miku thinks how she didnt own a real console before, she was a mobile game heathen. But at least she has a laptop now. So... laptop master race? Maybe?
Bah Nevermind that. She didnt wanna keep Akio. So she let him buy his game

"I'm glad that she's okay now, the kissing was slightly weird but, she was drugged, she didn't have control over her actions so it's nothing to worry about," Akio said reassuring Miku that there was no problems, when Miku said she was free Akio started smiling "Cool, I'll go grab this game real quick and then we can walk around, grab something to eat, or whatever you want to do," Akio said as he walked into the store and looked for his game, he grabbed it and walked over to the counter, the cashier scanned the game, Akio paid and he walked out of the store satisfied that he was finally able to get his hands on this game Now to hang out with Miku he thought to himself as he walked out "Alright, all done, hope I didn't take too long, so what do you feel like doing? Do you want to grab something to eat, or do you want to go have a look at any shops?" Akio asked as they started walking "I've done everything I needed to do so, whatever you need or want to do, let's do it," Akio said smiling, wanting to make Miku feel comfortable and let her have a good time

Akio bought the game relatively fast, but she guessed that was normal when you knew exactly what to buy and where it is. After he was done with his shopping, he asked her what would she like to do. Considering Miku's life and experience of being put in a protective bubble, she never got to make decisions of her own, so when someone asks her what to do, she is just mind blown
Miku just shrugged to Akio "I dont know. I don't know what to do with this freedom" she honestly told him. This was something she only told Kogami, how Miku was so sheltered she had no idea what real childhoods were like. Other kids got to go out and play. Or watch TV at home and just mature. Meanwhile Miku was cooped up at home, drawing or playing with plushy toys or watching cartoons and listening to music through the internet. Miku even only hung out with her 'dad' and played with him and his Spirit Animal 'pet'. Because of extremely limited freedom and having little to no interaction with anyone but her 'dad', old teacher and old middle school classmates. But mostly only ONLY her 'dad'. She still retained a lot of that childlike innocence which made her kind of regressed and immature compared to the others. Only recently was she released from her protective bubble and thus finding out what the real world was like and how harsh it could be. Hence why also, only now in UA she just had a first even crush on a teacher. She was only now starting to evolve and mature and go through all the phases she should have gone before. She only just started making her own true free decisions.

Akio thought about what they could do, "Well, what kind of stuff do you like? We could grab some food, or check out some stores, I think there's even an arcade near here we could go to and play some games, or we could walk around and see what else there is, I haven't been here too often so I don't know too much about what's here," Akio explained as they continued walking around "The arcade sounds pretty fun, so why don't we start off there?" Akio suggested as they started walking in the direction of the arcade "Man, I can't remember the last time I went to an arcade, I wonder what games they'll have at this one," he said excitedly as they walked into the arcade and were met with the sight of flashing machines and the various beeps of those machines "So, where do you want to start first? There's the got the classic crane machine, the whack-a-mole, we've got some air hockey and foosball, dancing games some basketball minigames and the various photobooths as well, take your pick, what do you feel like playing?" Akio asked as he looked around at all the machines in the arcade, with the amount of options to choose from Akio was sure they could have a fun time here

She listened to Akios suggestions, and eventually the two settled on going to an arcade. Later when the two arrived at their destination, Akio asked her what games would she play, all of em sounded fun. There was the classic crane machine, the whack-a-mole, air hockey whatever that was, foosball, dancing games, some basketball minigames and the various photobooths. But Miku knew, as soon as dancing games were mentioned, it was decided
"Dancing games! I wanna dance!" she said and turned to him "I'll have you know I used to be a pro. But, I havent danced in a while so Im a bit rusty. So you might have a bit of advantage there." she told him
Even though Miku liked drawing more, she kinda sucked at that and was much better at anything that involved music. Whether it was playing an instrument or dancing, she was good ar rgar compared to drawing. But she hasnt done anything related to music in probably 3 years. She was bound to be rusty as heck!
Miku looked at where the possible dancing game could be. She awaited Akio's responce or lead, because honestly, the girl never visited this arcade
"I pay money for games, right? Oh, I wonder if I have enough" she thought to herself

As soon as Akio mentioned the dancing games, he saw Miku's eyes light up, then she mentioned how she used to be a pro but hasn't danced in a while and that he might have an advantage "Well, I've danced a grand total of never, and my long limbs don't make that any easier, but I'll give it a try," he said chuckling, leading Miku over to the dancing game, it was a typical set up, a screen with 2 dance pads with arrows facing forward, backwards, left and right and bars at the back edge of the dance pad "So, I don't know if you've played this game before but it's pretty simple, we pick the song, and arrows will show up on the screen starting from the bottom and moving upwards towards outlines of the arrows, simply step on the correct arrow on this pad in time with the arrow on the screen," Akio explained as he inserted money into the machine "I'll cover this game for us, we get 3 rounds, so we'll alternate song picks, so you pick the first song and see who's the better dancer," he said flashing a cheeky smile at Miku "You do have more experience than me though so, you've got an advantage here," he said as the main menu began flashing on the screen

Stepping on correct arrows isnt much dancing. Miku thinks she should show Akio what dancing really is. Maybe she could show him a video. But that was for later, now its time to dance. But first, she had to pick a song. She shrugged once more and chose a random song.
"Believe it or not, I dont listen to pop or bubblegum pop or anything new." she told Akio
People may think Miku listens to girly music, but they would be sorely mistaken. She listens to old music, believe it or not, century year old music and stuff her dad listens to. And that is essentially. Metal. Very violent heavy metal. Sometimes even death metal or whatever kind of metal you want, because Miku knows it. Its sort of a Mikus hidden wild side
Well, now the time for talk was ending. As the game and the song were starting. Miku got ready to dance and make sure to step on the arrows of whatever. She realized she still had ryhtm, so things were fine. She glanced at Akio to see how he was doing

Akio watched as Miku picked a song, mentioning she doesn't listen to pop music and then chose a random song, the game started and the arrows started appearing on the screen and Akio and Miku both started to play, at first Akio was doing ok, but then the song started to speed up, now Akio had decent rhythm, but he just couldn't keep up with the arrows, they were coming too fast for him, he started flailing his legs around in a desperate attempt to get points, he saw that Miku was actually doing really well, the song ended and Miku ended up having more points than Akio "Wow, that got a lot faster than I was expecting, good job in keeping up with that," Akio said with a slight applause "Ok, I'll pick a song now," Akio said as he scrolled through the songs and found one he recognised, a slower one so he could at the very least, actually keep up with the arrows "3 fast songs in a row and I might be out of breath before we move onto any other games," Akio said as he chuckled and his song started playing, he was doing much better this time and was able to keep up, he looked over at Miku who looked like she was enjoying herself I'm glad she's having a good time Akio thought to himself as he smiled

The dance game was so fun! It was easier then she thought, although arrow stepping isnt really dancing. So she was surprised Akio didnt get to win like at all. Miku handled the dance game very well and all songs were relatively easy, one was a tad bit challenging, but nothing she couldnt handle.
"This was fun! I enjoyed it!" she happily told AKio and then took her phone "Oh! Lemme show you real dancing!" she went to the search engine to find her video, only to see she has no WI-FI "Darn!" she then put the phone in her pocket "Ok, I'll show you some other time. What do you wanna do now?"
Since they were done dancing, she wondered what they could do now. Although, what if he was busy. She couldnt just keep him and waste his time, so she corrected herself
"I mean... if you still have free time that is. I dont wanna keep you if you have to go elsewhere"
She didnt wanna admit it, but she hoped he wasnt busy. Akio seemed like a fun guy, nice too. She wanted to spend more time with him, it was kind of a shame they werent classmates, but at least they had the Cooking Club!
"I should thank Haruto for making that club!" Miku thought to herself

They finished the dance game and Miku was happy, which made Akio happy, she wanted to show him a video of some real dancing but it looked like there was no WIFI for her, so she said she'll show him another time "I'm looking forward to it," he said as the walked around the arcade more "No, I'm not busy at all, we can hang out for as long as you can or want to," Akio said as he looked around and spotted the claw machines "Here, let's give this a try," Akio said as he walked over to the crane machine and put a coin in the machine, he saw a fluffy, cloudish looking stuffed toy with 2 wispy ears, and he decided on winning that. He maneuvered the crane over to the toy and pressed the button to send the crane arm down, it picked up the toy and moved it slightly, before the toy slipped, Akio inserted another coin and went back to the toy, this time he misjudged where the crane should go and missed it completely. He inserted another coin into the machine, determination lighting up his eyes, this time he judged the crane position perfectly, the crane went down and picked the toy up and dropped it into the bin for Akio to receive SUCCESS! he thought to himself as he picked it out of the machine and handed it to Miku "Here, for you, as a reminder of today and how much fun we've had," Akio said smiling, slightly blushing, he was really starting to like Miku I hope we can hang out more like this outside of school he thought to himself as he awaited Miku's reaction

Miku was incredibly happy Akio was not busy, that meant they could hang out more! She then noticed he went to a claw crane machine thingy. Miku walked over beside him and watched him as he put the coin inside the machine and watched him grab something. But it slipped from the claw. So Akio put another coin in. Miku again silently watched, but he totally missed this time. Akio then put a 3rd coin
"Oh gosh. Am I making him lose all his money?" Miku thought
But just as she thought that, Akio was this time successfull. What Miku didnt expect though that Akio would give her the plus toy
Now her eyes lit up "Really??" she asked in disbelief and then thanked him "THANK YOU!!" she said happily as she got overly excited and hugged him. But when she realized what she did. She quickly let him go and blushed
"Umm..umm...sorry" she took the toy and hid behind that "I-I get carried away sometimes. T-thanks for the toy plushy though"
She was totally embarassed. Usually she was just with her dad. So this display of gratitude and affection was normal. She still needed that self restraint with friends
"I should really stop doing this! But I wanna hug everyone. People are nice! Hugging is nice!.....Except maybe Nick...yea... He's not cool" Miku thought to herself

When Akio handed the plush to Miku, her eyes lit up, which made Akio smile, then something happened that he did not expect, she hugged him. He immediately started blushing, but also slightly smiling, when she let go Akio was a little disappointed but made sure not to show it "Don't worry about it, I uh, I don't mind," he said still blushing and slightly looking away from Miku, This atomsphere is really awkward now he thought to himself "I'm going to have a try at the basketball game, you should give it a try as well," Akio said as he led Miku over to the game, he inserted his coins and saw the balls roll down the ramp, he picked up the first ball and shot it, he watched as it went through the hoop, he picked up the next ball and shot it and he made that one as well, he shot the 3rd ball but it just bounced off the side of the rim, he kept shooting until he ran out of balls, he ended up shooting 10 shots and making 7 of them Not bad, I've still got it he thought to himself as he turned to Miku "Ok, it's your turn," he said as he put some coins into the machine and grabbed a ball that rolled down the ramp and handed it to Miku "So, you hold it like this, one hand at the bottom here, and one hand on the side here, then when you push it outwards towards the basket, flick your wrist like your putting your hand in a cookie jar that's on a shelf," he said as he moved Miku's hands into the correct position and watched to see how she'd do

Akio masterfully fixed the mood by switching over to another game. A basketball game. First, he played and managed to make 7 successful shots out of 10. Impressive. But then it was surprisingly her turn. Akio then explained to her what to do and how to throw. Apparently there was a technique to it! Miku nodded as she heard him out and then handed him the plush
"Hold my bunny" she said it in the 'hold my beer' kinda fashion and then grabbed the basketball
She aimed carefuly, threw the ball and.....scored!
"Yay!" she happily said and tried again with another one. And managed once more! She smiled and kept this up. All in all she managed to score 6 times and miss 4 times. She was pretty close to Akios score. Miku truly had begginners luck here
"Wow! That was fun!" she said as she took her plushy bunny toy back, and then asked "So, what do we do now?"
Considering Akio knew good games at this arcade. She allowed him to choose.
"Everything is so fun. I wonder what else we could do" she thought to herself as she looked around and awaited for what he had to say
