Some say we're never meant to grow up
I'm sure they never knew enough
I'm sure they never knew enough
"Even if she hates you, she wouldn't want you dead," Jaz said adamantly. She already had one example of this in her life. An example that far too often snuck into her bed at night. But, regardless, she watched G retreat, not offering a single word in response but a lazy salute as the older male retreated. Christ, conversations like this were so depressing. Yet, at the same time, eye opening. Every single time she was reminded of how cruel the world could be. A man, battered and bruised, finding no solace anywhere and from anyone. It made her think of her own situation, in a way. How similar it was to G's.
Shuffling back onto her feet, Jaz rubbed the back of her head as she turned around. Gazing at Beacon firmly, recounting every trace, every single line, color and shading that she had used to deliver this piece onto the world, she couldn't help the small yet sad smile that crept up on her face. She believed hope. She really, really did. But sometimes it was just so hard to keep on going like nothing ever bothered her. The weight of the world was heavy on her. A weight that many considered she had put on her shoulders for no good reason other than to be dramatic. But how true was that? She was a hero, wasn't she? She was supposed to try to save people, right? You couldn't save everyone. She knew that all too well. But it wouldn't stop her from trying.
The girl couldn't help the snort that left her; who was she kidding? She couldn't even save herself. Maybe I should start there, she thought as she shoved her hands into her hoodie's pockets. Turning on her heel, the blonde lioness continued on with her day like nothing ever happened. Keep moving and don't ever stop.
