It was maddening. In her whole life up until she'd met him, Susumu had been so proudly in control of herself. Running the show with a cruel, confident air and enough lies to build a lovely, thick wall around herself. That was how she liked it. Gil, though, had never even seen the wall. She'd let him see her at her core as the sadistic bitch she was...and it had been a huge mistake. Without her wall, without her lies, it was impossible to keep from feeling something. She'd denied herself from feeling anything but manipulative joy for so long, only showing fake anger, fake sadness, fake sympathy. There was none of that with him.
She never knew how much real feelings hurt.

Up on the fire escape her "normal" phone lit up, but didn't vibrate or make any sound as it received G's text. Susumu's hands trembled against the sides of her helmet, her panting breath still turning into static through the radio. Yet, she still could make out G's voice clearly. Hah. Issues. He said she had issues.
No, she only had one issue, and he was right here.
Susumu drew in a shaking breath. Her arms fell limp in front of her, and she slowly drew herself back up to standing. Her fingers twitched. Hahah. Oh Gilbert. It would be so easy to just disappear from his life. Ghost him, both as Big Sister and Susumu. Hide in Amadeus' manor forever. Never do this again. Still. He belonged to her. If she left, then there would be nothing for him to cling to, nothing for him to love.
".....no. I don't want to talk about it." Her voice was strained, like she was speaking through clenched teeth. She was. But what he couldn't see was how her lips were pulled into a manic grin. "You shouldn't care about that anyway. I'm just another psychopathic villain, after all. You know. One of a million. Given enough time fighting crime I'm sure you'll see plenty like me."
She drew in another breath, then turned her head to look at him again. That look in his eyes...she hated that look, but she loved it, too. Because he was looking at this pitiful villain like that and not Susumu. He still loved Susumu. He still loved her. She still had one wall up.
"...I'll remove you from the chat. You won't ever hear from me again. But never speak of tonight."
