She had been waiting for this for a while now. Actually, both of them had been waiting for this. A time for some relaxation from all the mess that has been happening lately. From being accepted as a pro to being ordered to do an internship, she was bogged down with a lot of things. But now she get to spend time with being with... her. 'Ah,' Jeanee mentally spoke to Rin. 'Some fun in the sun. No worries. No responsibilities. Just being with you.' A mental image of Rin smiling flashed in RJ's mind. 'And I love being with you. I has been some time since we did this. Just... relax.'
RJ loved being the product of the two them, even if it was just from the quirk. It was hard to explain to others. At the same time, it was hard to explain it to herself. The science of her quirk was easy to explain. But the mental part of it was harder. She felt like herself, but she was not. She was two people with different emotions that have found a common middle ground between the two of them. But after some time being together, they didn't care about explaining it anymore. All they needed to know that she was her. And she was happy being her.
RJ adjusted her two-piece as she sat her towel down and umbrella. She looked out to the ocean, taking in the smell of salty air. The seagulls sounded off in the sky as they circle the beach-goers who might drop food for them. The seashells glisten in the sun as kids were using them to decorated their sandcastles. It may not be New York, but it was beautiful. And this was now her home to defend. As much as she missed being a cop, she had to get use to the fact that she was now a Pro Hero making changes in a small world. But for now, she was relaxing and enjoying the sun.

If there is any place to claim domain as his. It was the beach. Being a Hawaiian, the beach was the place where he can be one with the ocean. Thats kind of basically his Quirk after all. But what he now loved was that he didnt come to train or anything. He came to rest and relax. Just have some fun in the sun and get a tan.
As he was resting on his towel and getting some rays, he looked around and made sure if he was alone, so he can use his quirk. Alas there were people, so he couldnt do that. He also couldnt go for a swim since he never knew if there was a klepto that would try and steal his things while he was out for a swim. Granted he could use his Quirk to stop them.
But for now he just rested where he was. If the sun became too hot then he'd go for a swim and risk it. Because f it, he didnt come here to fry alive. And besides the sea would be the best when it just needed to cool him off. It was just right then. Still though, being alone was kind of dull and boring. He needed to communicate with someone

Where was he? What was this place called again? Oh yes, a beach. The place that looked like a giant litterbox for cats. Yet people were playing in it? Humans were strange beings. Red would step up on the sand of the beach and it felt strange upon his beans. He was used to dirt, gravel, and cement this sensation under his paws was very unruly. He tried taking a step, but it felt weird sinking into the ground with each step so instead, he would jump from one area of sand to another.
It was probably a strange sight to see a red panda fox jumping around in the sand. Much less of the fact of what kind of creature he was, to begin with since they were mainly nocturnal creatures. Red just hoped because of all the strange types of people there were in the world he could get away with being out in the wide open. The sun's heat began to beat down on Red's fur and he didn't much care for it. He needed shade, but where? That's when he noticed a woman sitting under an umbrella. She looked comfortable and cool so Red jumped his way towards the woman and looked for a place under the umbrella to lay down.

RJ grabbed a nice Rorona-Light out of her cooler bag and popped the cap. She had couple left in the bag along with snacks in case she got hungry. Her visors reflected the sun off her three eyes as the umberella provide cool shade for her- or the two of them to be exact. 'I love being here with you,' Jeanne said to Rin, holding each other in RJ's mind. 'And I love being with you,' Rin replied. This made RJ smile.
The sound of tiny feet scurrying through the sand. A vistor perhaps? RJ looked to see who would joining her in the shade. Awww, a cute red panda. "Hey there," RJ smiled at the creature. "If you are looking for some shade, you are more than welcome to join me." She patted a spot next to her and set out some trail mix for the creature. Ah. This was nice a little companion to keep her company.
As she looked around the beach, she noticed that white-haired man was sitting out in the sun. From the looks of things he looked bored, and the sun definitely must had been frying his skin. "Hey," she called out to the man, holding up Rorona-Light. "If you want to cool off, you can join me in the shade. I have drinks," she added wiggling the cool, alcoholic beverage.

He heard someone call out to him. He looked and saw some woman that had a drink. Well, since she invited him and waved some booze. He shrugged and picked up his stuff and placed her towel beside hers. "Right... so...hey" he said and greeted her a bit awkwardly. And then he noticed a critter and pointed at it "Your pet?"
He then looked at the sea and thought about how 2 years ago he got stupid drunk and did something very regrettable. It was a depressing thought. Ever since then, he kept eye on how much booze he drank. He had more self control, because when drunk he had no self control and he was at the mercy of others.
Then he glanced at his tattoo's on his forearm. He remembered his other tattoo that was of his Quirk on his back. He thought maybe he can pay to have that one removed, it was another reminder of a darker times and a darker phase in his life. Granted, there were many bad reminders here. Maybe thats why he preffered to train here as opposed to relax and swimming alone. He needed the company, otherwise his mind would drift in a bad direction

It was nice to have company. Yes, she was two people and she was always together. But she never really spent time as her- as RJ. She knew she was made up of the two people that loved each other dearly. They had experienced loss and hardships and they weathered the storms together. But RJ was a wholly separate entity of her own. Just like when Jeanne was fused with John. A whole another person who had their own experiences. But now Jeanne was with Rin. Even though their personalities and strength melded together, they made up RJ- her own being.
She sat there on a beach towel thinking about it. As the white-haired man approached her she passed the frosty acholic beverage to him. Yeah- it was nice to have company. She took out some crackers for the red panda and sat it in front of him if he chose to join. "So," RJ said taking another sip from her drink. "My name is RJ Haymaker, by the way. I saw that you were by yourself so I thought you could use some company." She looked out towards the ocean, the waves lapping at the shoreline. "So what brought you out here on this beautiful day?"

Red stared at the woman with apprehension. She seemed nice, but he had been scorned by nice before. Still, she gave him food and that was always good. Being a tad cautious he sniffed the food to make sure it wasn't poison and then looked up at the woman trying to make out her intentions. The panda fox didn't know people well enough in this city to make out if she was a threat or not still he was hungry. No use letting a free meal go to waste right? So he took a few bites of the food and kept his distance as much as he could from the woman.
The woman suddenly spoke loudly and Red jumped a tad in shock. Looking up he realized she was calling over another individual a man who looked quite scary looking. He had this mean looking appearance to himself that Red wasn't sure if he could trust. Being a bit hesitant he backed away slightly as the guy placed his towel next to her. Outside of pointing to him, he didn't acknowledge Red which was a good thing. He could just relax without the man trying to possibly capture him. While still in laying position he kept his eyes on the man watching to see if he would make any sudden movements.

She introduced herself as RJ, but she didnt actually answer if this animal was her pet. Not that he cared really. "The name's Gabriel" he said as he introduced himself to her. He took the alcoholic drink and sipped it. It was nice and cool. G looked at her as she asked what brougt him here. He looked at the ocean ... the sea as well. "The sea did. I love summer and I love the beach" he told her
He rested and looked at the beach in general. The shore... the waves hitting the shore... the sea that causes the waves and lastly the horizon. He watched the people in the sea and well everything he could see there. He then glanced at the red animal for a moment just to see whats it doing. But its just... whimpering? Or whatever.. Obviously the animal was scared of him. He understood that. He had that impact on people. G turned his gaze away so he wouldnt bother the animal. Its not like it was bugging anyone or causing havoc like that insect like quirked animal. G was normally a fan of insects, but that one was a menace. But that was a story for another time

RJ followed Gabriel's gaze the creature sitting next to her. She smiled and petted the creature giving it more food to eat. "Don't worry," RJ said with a smile. "This is just a little friend that decided to join me for today." After she finished petting the creature, she looked back towards the ocean. "Yes, the sea is wonderful. Summertime here is a lot different than back home." She wasn't wrong the summer in New York was just a bunch of heat trapped in a concrete and steel environment. But there was always something to do at least.
But if one were, to be honest, for all the wild and craziness that was RJ, she preferred the quiet life. The simple waves rolling up onto the beach. The people playing in the water. This is what made life worth living. She will have to come here with her daughter one day. Lately, though Selena and she were so busy. RJ with being a pro. Selena being a sidekick to the Informant. It always seemed there wasn't enough time for the two of them now. But they were adults, and Selena wasn't their little girl anymore. And she had to come to terms with that. "So," RJ said opening another cold one. "How long have you lived here in Japan?"

♛ Red was surprised by the sudden petting from the woman, but she seemed gentle to the touch and she gave him food so she couldn't be bad right? She seemed to trust this strange scary-looking white-haired man too so maybe he wasn't bad either. Still, he needed to be cautious around strangers he didn't want to get hurt again. The two ended up looking towards the water and Red titled his head in confusion. Was there something out there? He looked out on the ocean and it was just water nothing was coming out of it nor was there anything going on just water.
Humans were weird creatures and Red just wasn't sure how to interact with them. Most of them would laugh at him or cause him pain or used him as a trade deal for monetary gain so to be treated nicely was strange to the creature. Red needed to figure out how to live better in his new lifestyle on the streets so maybe reaching out to others to see if they would help him was a good idea. So taking a bit of initiative he relaxed his tail and slowly walked over to the white-haired man and sniffed him. He didn't seem dangerous really, but what if it was just a front? Red didn't know how to guess people's real intentions. So hopefully this strange old man wasn't dangerous.

RJ told G to not worry about the animal, it was a harmless critter who joined her today. "Ah, I see" he said and then tried to pet the creature as well, heck the creature even approached him. But he was a bit more cautious then RJ as he feared being bit by this animal. The two spoke of the sea and the beach. RJ noted how this place was different then 'home'. Which made G repeat "Home?" Well of course judging by the name that she wasnt japanese. Granted neither was he, which made him wonder, if they were both possibly from America, why dont they speak english. Its a lot more simple for the both of them, right?
RJ spoke again, asking how long has he lived in Japan. G sipped more of the booze and answered "For far too long" as opposed to others who were kissing up Japan as this great place. G wasnt. To him, nothing beats home. Sure he has family here, but home is great too. Shame Hana wouldnt ever live in Hawaii. He cant blame her. Shes Japanese and she loves her own homeland. He respects that. God, now he wished she was here so he can just hug her and hold her. Soon he placed the drink down as he didnt want to have too much of it.

RJ sighed. She only has been here for a few days and it felt like she wanted to be home. Japan was not bad by any stretch of the imagination. It was just New York was her home. It was where she started her adventures as RJ. And now she was in a new place- even if the other half of her was born here. It was a hard feeling to explain. Like two people who understood why they needed to be here but at the same time- one of them was homesick. Jeanne missed home. But she knew she could never go back there. They didn't want her nor Rin there. This would have to be home for now.
"That sucks," RJ said quietly. "I have only been here a few days and I miss being in New York. My wife wanted to come here for better opportunities." She gave a sad smile behind the visor that hid her three eyes. "They are not a fan of quirkers there. But I promise my wife I would be here for her. She was born here and she had missed home for far too long. And I would give this place a chance." She took another swig from her drink. "From what it sounded like, you must not be from around here. Where is home for you?" In a way, she could feel that Gabriel had been from another place. She could understand the feeling of being somewhere she didn't want to be.

He recognized the look on that face. Homesickness. Yeah, it sucks he was here this long. But thats life. He looked at her when she said her wife wanted to be there for better opportunities. RJ further went to say that the people are not a fan of quirkers. He listened as she explained how her wife is japanese and how she would give Japan a shot. She then took another swig from her drink. After which she asked about his home
"I'm Hawaiian. I dont know about New York, but Hawaii is more chill on Quirks, more lax. Pretty sure." he sips his drink before continuing "I never heard anything bad from there. I have family from there." G said casually with a shrug.
He wasnt in America for a long time. But he was pretty sure each state had different laws. RJ could've gone to a state with more lax quirk laws. But she did say that her wife was Japanese, so theres that. Besides, Hawaii isnt really part of the mainland. It does its own thing mostly as it is a mix of american and japanese and its own thing. Honestly, to him Hawaii was truly the best.

♛ The small creature continued to monitor the situation between the two people with a small sense of anxiety. Unsure of what to make of the situation the two seemed to be in deep conversation. Red wished he could understand them and talk with them himself. Life was lonely when you had no one who could speak your language with you. He felt foreign in this setting like he didn't belong. Was it a mistake escaping the circus to try and live a better life? Red wasn't sure anymore.
His ears drooped in sadness at the thought of how hard his life had been since his escape. Starving and going hungry almost every day. People looking at him with disgust and contempt as if he was just some rat. The angry voices of people he stole food from if they caught a glimpse of his brightly colored tail. He was surprised he hadn't been reported and captured by some sort of pet catcher by now. The idea of this happening didn't bode well with Red as it would mean he might never be free again afterward. He would need to find some sort of permanent residence sometime, but how was honestly a big question.
Turning his attention to the two people he felt a sense of sadness from them. While he never understood human speech patterns he was able to sometimes figure out things based on their body language. So when the white-haired man shrugged he felt he needed to comfort the man. He looked up at him with his big eyes and looking for his hand gave the man a quick lick. Humans licked each other when they wanted to show affection and kindness right? Red didn't know much about human customs and actions since he was only raised on the circus life and had little to no real human interaction. 311 | @tagged | notes ulla

RJ smiled at the white-haired man. It was nice to have a conversation with other people, even if they were from two different worlds. She herself had never been to Hawaii. She had traveled around the States, but never to Hawaii. Maybe that was something they, correction, she could do when they got settled down here. As far as quirk laws go though...
"Hawaii sounds like the place to be," RJ said with a sad smile. "The busy streets. The different people running about. It may not have been the greatest place in the world, but it was home." She remembered the days she would run rampant on the streets as the vigilante hero, Unity. The feeling of being free with no rules or desires of being something the world wanted her to be. It was the best feeling in the world.
That was until the day Rin and Jeanne got caught. The NYPD did not agree with the whole "vigilante" lifestyle of the two. Heck, not many of the members of the force liked quirkers, to begin with. So Jeanne did something she would never think she would ever do. She quit the force while Rin stepped down from the bar as a lawyer. And on top of that, she remained fused with Rin, feeling no shame of who she wanted to be with her- RJ. RJ wondered what John would think if he was still here. To see what she was now- a pro hero. His daughter is a sidekick to the Informant. He would have been so proud of them.
She felt the red panda leave her side and made its way to Gabriel, licking the man's hand as though to make him feel better. "I think he likes you," RJ said with a smile as she took another swig.
