The day Desmoshi found out that the school had a speedbag for boxers was the day Desmoshi truly fell in love with the school. As much as he love to do schoolwork- not really- and eat- heck, yeah!-, he still love to train to improve himself. And he had a good reason behind it. Desmoshi had two months to prep for the meeting of class reps. He had a plan that would bring all the years together as one student body.
However, he knew some students would prove to be difficult. The third years were rotating out, so they probably didn't really care one way or another of leaving a mark here. The second years still had a lot to get together. Desmoshi had been getting hammered by some of the teachers for not having the whole class present. He wasn't sure what answers to come up with except "They are not feeling well" or "Their quirk is giving them a couple of issues". To say that Desmoshi was running out of excuses was the least of his worries. Works if one person is out. Less effective if half the class is missing.
As Desmoshi approached the speedbag and strapped on his green boxing gloves, more thoughts flooded into his mind. He still had a birthday party to get ready for his twin sister, Mizuki. She still didn't know that was happening yet, which was good. She had threaten if anyone else came to the house on that day, she would kick back out on the street- literally! So for now it was best that she did not know. And if Yang was to come along, this could actually loosen Mizuki more to allow more people to come to the party. So he hoped.
He got into his boxing stance and begin to work on his one-two combos. Ever since the Sports Festival and his father's help on his new upgrades, Desmoshi had been training even harder to catch up with the top students. He knew who the top three were in his class, but he didn't care about that. He was aiming higher. The number one hero spot was not something he could obtain right now. But number one hero student didn't seem far off. Desmoshi continued to practice his jabs, his punches echoing throughout the training field.

She remembered her training with Darren and she knew that after the sports festival, she should pick up the stuff again. Especially if she wanted to get better at a lot of things. She had to say that she was proud how far she got and what impression she had left when it came to her fights, but still, if she wanted to become better, that meant she had to not stand still and work on more training. She finally pushed herself after the other things she had to do to come to the training facilities. She had not seen Darren in a while or trained with the people that she normally trained with and that was weak and stupid but she seriously had to push herself. Just training her flexibility and her dancing skills wasn't going to work even though Cheerleading was fun and helped with her stamina, it did not help with much more than social contacts. She took a deep breath and would head into her clean sports clothes to the training room. She had changed in the changing room here as she did not live on campus, she would make sure to walk in her uniform or other clothes.
When she arrived at the training room, Darren had told her it was open for everyone whenever, she was surprised to see that someone else had aimed for the boxing ball, well it wasn't that surprising with the many and different fighting training within this school. She wasn't sure if she had met guy before, but that was okay, she was out of meeting new people for quite a while and that was stupid, she should work on that as well. She only met new people thanks to clubs, she should work harder on it. How was she ever going to make contacts and so on. "Hey." She finally said, thank god she wasn't shy anymore nor as stupid as before. She walked to the side to get one of the boxing gloves from the training stuff, though to be honest, there was more than one of course. She had to think about Darren's training though if she wanted to do it right. She had not really used it in the tournament, she had not wanted to smack Miku in the face and Red had been too fast for her slow boxing tactics, but that meant only more that she had to get better.

As today was his day off Amare knew that he should probably take the chance to get ahead on his homework. He had already started to fall behind and with the way things were going the window for assistance was closing fast. So to take his mind of the impending doom of failing the next upcoming assignment he headed to the grounds. Upon getting closer the small but familiar sound of "skin on skin" grabbed his attention. That is what his father always used to call it, when they would spar back in Canada. It was probably a term used by his father and so on and so on, so much in fact that Amare was unsure what the proper technical term for it was called.
Following the mesmerizing sound he would of turned a corner and into a room where several people were going at it. The vibe was intense and focused almost as if you could cut the tension with a knife. He felt a bit...intimidated. How long had it been since he felt this type of vibe? It has been years since he last participated in a tournament and even his training has slowed down to almost a complete halt since moving to Japan. With his focus on his vlogs and online presence Amare had to sacrifice certain aspects of his life not even realizing that his boxing training was becoming one of them. Not anymore.
Seeing some people getting their practice on, Amare took off his glasses and set them down in a unused locker while grabbing a pair of mitts. One of the people he noticed was Desmoshi, he was an upper classmate who was a pretty good fighter. Amare had heard some stories about him but barely shared more than a few words. Watching him go to work on a speed bag Amare couldn't help but admire his jabs. They were clean and focused obviously being done by someone who wished to not only progress but test and push their limits even further.
Making sure he was strapped up and secure he would walk towards the center another student, a girl also gloved up seemed to be looking for a partner.
"Hey! My names Amare, I could spar with you if you'd like."

With each strike, Desmoshi felt like he was releasing a little bit of steam. Maybe that's why he was so nice nowadays. Back at his old school, he was much worse, letting his anger sometimes get the best of him. Mostly to protect his sister from the bullies that picked on quirkers like them. But ever since coming to UA, he felt like he didn't have to fight to be him. He could be... just him.
However, not everything can be peachy. Desmoshi long term goal to bring the classes together on the same front was kind of difficult. Maybe it was nothing, but it seemed like each year didn't want to be next to the other. Whether this was due to maturity or different walks of life was still unanswered. He knew that doing this would be difficult. Maybe there was no issue at all. But he had to be sure.
Desmoshi's thoughts were interrupted by someone yelling towards him. He looked around to see a blacked hair woman in workout clothes approach him. He knew this girl. Not personally, but from the Exhibition Festival. She was actually pretty good when it came to using her quirk, and he knew she was more experienced than he was. But this bother him very little. People were people, no matter what they do. It was the intent of their actions that were important.
"Hey," Desmoshi said with a kind smile. "I think this is our first time meeting. My name is Desmoshi Haymaker from class 2-A Nice to meet you." He took his hands out of his boxing gloves, wiped it on a towel, and held it out to shake. "I was actually practicing my boxing for a bit, but if you need..."
Before Desmoshi could finish his explanation, another boy had joined the room, introducing himself as Amare. Wow, there were a lot of first-years coming in. But maybe that was a good thing. Desmoshi was hoping to work closely with them as the year continued. "Nice to meet you as well, Amare. My name is Desmoshi from 2-A." Amare then asked Rowan if she wanted to spar. Desmoshi backed up a bit. A third-year versus a first-year? It should be fine. It was a spar right. "I will be more than happy to get out of your way if you like," Desmoshi responded, backing away from the two to give them room on the mat.

She had decided to be more out there, to talk to people when she bumped into them and to not throw away the study that Darren had given her in boxing and to just become better and more focused on everything. Her quirk certainly had become better because she had figured out the focus point that she needed, now she needed to make sure she did not suddenly drop down in her boxing skills only because she might have accidentally refrained from training too much. However, the dance of martial art and her quirk had gone hand in hand and she became better. Still not better to stand a chance against Red. She thought to herself all the time, it was just good to not be such a scared cat all the time. It just meant that she would have to work even harder and that was another reason to why she was here and why she said hi to the guy over at the boxing ball that she had never seen or talked to before. She should also start paying more attention to the other people at this school because before, she only paid attention to her own class, that had not gone entirely well. Now she even swapped from class A to class B and well she was with at least three of her friends in a class and that made things definitely a lot better.
That's why she picked up boxing gloves and went over to say hi. She smiled as he smiled back at her and nodded at his statement. She would take his hand and shake it but before she could say anything, he already continued talking and before she could even introduce herself, someone else showed up. She was a bit surprised about the straightforwardness of the new student, who she also did not know and she blushed a little. Miss Sakamoto, had a lot to learn still. She looked from one to the other, "Ehm, I am Rowan Sakamoto, 3-B and yea, I have to practice as well, clearly figured out I was out of shape after the tournament a few months ago." That's when she turned her attention to Amare, "I don't mind sparring, or well maybe I could help practice or something, that sounds fine." Anything that would be useful and she was quite sturdy and durable so maybe that helped for first years or well Desmoshi was a second-year so maybe Amare too, to be able to use power at an opponent instead of a boxing ball.

It was not long before all three students had begun to introduce themselves. Amare noticed that this seemed to be like an ongoing pattern with people that before any further conversation starts they introduce themselves and a bit about themselves. Was that something that happened often in this part of the world? In Canada people simply just started. For example if he was to show up at a basketball court, he would jump up and say "I'm next" and that would be it. There would be no need for explaining who he was or what his name was. But "when in Rome" as the saying went...
"Hi to you both! My name's Amare. Wow a third year and a second year. With me being in 1B, that makes us an entire trifecta!"
He'd say with a sheepish grin. The boxing gloves on his hands would slam together in a competitive eagerness as Rowan offered to spar with him. No matter the intent she seemed honestly looking to practice. But how should they do it? Amare knew that there was a sort of point system when practicing or should they just go at it and first to give up loses? The fact that Desmoshi was suggesting that he sit this one out probably meant he had his own training he wanted to get back to. That or he wanted to watch the events go down. Either way Amare knew it was up to him to put on a show for his upperclassmen.
"Does boxing have a 3-way option? I know my friends and I used to make up some stuff so what I know is anything but official but if we could come up with something like that here then perhaps all of us could train together without anyone being left out."
He would say resting his chin on a gloved left hand while his right hand supported it by his elbow. If this idea was shot down or it was discovered that it would not properly work out, Amare would take a step back to space out and gain a decent range from his opponent before making a friendly motion for his opponent to either do the same or begin the match with the first attack.

Desmoshi thought about it for a second. "Nah," Desmoshi responded with a smile. "It would be better for one-on-one. It gives you a chance for you to see what you need to better yourself in. Not to mention, having a three-way makes things to complicated and messy." Not that Desmoshi didn't want to join, but he wanted to watch them actually duke it out in a spar. A first-year could learn a lot from a third-year. Plus, this would help bridge the gap between the years and this was a good place to start.
As Desmoshi took a set to watch the show, he thought about the matches he has seen Rownan in at the Exhibition event. She was very good at using her quirk and mixing her fighting style with it. However, this would be the first time he had seen Amare fight. Maybe the first-year might surprise Rownan with something she has never seen before. As he watched get into their fighting stance, Desmoshi took note of everything that was happening. In boxing, there were four stances- slugger, outboxer, switchhitter, and swarmer. It would be interesting to see what stance these would take and whether the boxing theory would hold in this match.

She was still nervous when it came to sparring with other people. Her first boxing match, albeit the enthusiasm of the Semper Fi solder wasn't wrong, was boxing with Kirk. Kirk was much, much better than her and she assumed he still was much better. Until the point she got so scared she accidentally blew up the boxing glove when Kirk punched her and she burned his hand. It did seem that the big sports fan from 3-C had forgiven her and all, quite easily, but that did not mean that Rowan did not remember. But sure... she swallowed maybe a little bit with difficulty, if they wanted her as a sparring partner... sure... She had to laugh a little about Amare, the fact that they came all from another year was fun to consider and she nodded at the idea. What kind of sucky senpai was she then, off. She swore that after her fight with Reddarcc, she would work harder to be more prepared for graduation, but boy was she worried and scared. "I mean there isn't really a three-way like Haymaker-san said but you could put a timer on it and swap but maybe that's not entirely fun either." She said strapping her own boxing gloves better while talking, that made her less nervous. The thing is that on the job she got a little over her fear, depending on if you threw her in front of a riot or a prison breakout but who cared at this point. But in front of classmates, school mates, anything really, she was afraid they would be hurt and would hate her. "A training can also be fun." She added to Desmoshi's part, to not scare off Amare. She wasn't sure if the boys were just hyped on fighting in general, some people gave her that obvious statement but than again some boys did not either and she thought for a few seconds about Sean and smiled at the idea. Before turning her attention back to Amare. "Something being fun makes it easier to train and learn, after all." She tried to really pay attention and reach out to them, she could do this.
So with her own gloves being better, she waited for Amare to get a pair and she made a few warming up gestures before standing. Her left foot a little forward, her right hand protecting her chest and her left arm a little lower, protecting her stomach and almost at the same distance from her body, okay... not ready but ready.

"Ah well...There goes that idea. Let's get it on then!"
Amare would say knocking his gloves together. Taking four steps back he would watch Rowan warm up then get into a stance. He thought she would make the first move but she didn't instead looked like she was going on the defensive. Well waiting and watching was not Amare's method of fighting so he would start things off explosively! He had to show off for his upperclassmen after all, especially since Desmoshi seemed to also come from a boxing background.
From what he could remember from his training, a well aimed punch to the chin would rock the brain in its place and cause enough dizziness to have someone fall unconscious. With that in mind Amare would aim to go for a finish like that, not only because he was out of practice but because he did not want the 3rd student he was facing to find her rhythm.
Bouncing on the balls of his feet, Amare would start swaying side to side with both gloved fists parallel with his face and chin. With each sway sideways he would take a step forward with that foot. Left-sway left step forward, right-sway right step forward until he was within arms length of Rowan. Footwork was always something Amare enjoyed which is why he aimed to be base his boxing style off of the great M.Ali himself. He quickly tried to judge her maximum arm length, but decided against it as getting hit was just as fun as trying to hit his opponent. Amare would reach her and shoot out a jab towards what he perceived to be her unguarded right side. Left foot forward usually meant a left punch right? So Amare would try to work around this and get ahead of his opponents thinking.
Fancy footwork, advancing towards Rowan Left jab to her right side

Desmoshi had always love boxing. He fell in love with it when he watched his first match with his dad in it. It was exhilarating to see how people moved around the ring, studying their opponent and looking for an opening to capitalize on the victory. He was very luck his dad was pro himself and raised his son to understand the basics of boxing and how to use it with his quirk. And now, as a student hero and maybe one day a pro, he got to use the same style to be a protector among the people.
Here he sat, watching two students duke it out in the ring. Both of them seem to be doing well, keeping out of the other's reach, waiting for their opponent to make a mistake. If Desmoshi would apply his boxing theory, he would have pegged both of them out-boxers, dancing out of reach of each other until they found an opportunity. He could have sworn that Rownan would be a swarmer, focusing on getting in the opponent's face and attacking with quick strikes. But sometimes a person could be wrong.
Amare did not waste any time, resorting to his footwork moving out of the opponent's reach until he finally let loose a strike. A quick left to the opponent's right side in order to knock the wind out of her and lower her stamina. How would Rownan a third-year like Rownan would respond to the first-year? Desmoshi gripped the edge of his spot with a wide smile on his face.

Calm down. She had to be strategic and she did not want to either lose too badly... thanks Red... Or she would not want the same happen to Amare as to her. She wasn't that good when it came to her confident and she was so tempted to use her feet as well, even though she was focused on boxing because of her quirk, she made it more kickboxing, and everything that made her feel okay about movements and hitting boxing balls and targets but this was just a fun boxing thing. No legs. Right she watched Amare, he wasn't much taller than her, that made it even a nicer match than she would have thought of at first. She used to be someone that would go in very quickly but she was maybe slightly in doubt of herself, also she wanted to see what Amare did.
He took her right side which surprised her, the reason why she had her foot backwards was so she could easily make another step, so her left would quickly go back and she would dodge by moving her body to the left and quickly make a jab at Amare's chest and an uppercut for his chin, they probably had the same idea. She had another plan b as well, but it was still in her mind to swing in her knee and that's why she was a little slow. Swaying to right, making another jab at his left shoulder with her right glove and a sway of her elbow against his back. Okay, she jumped back, give him some room to move and try it again. She moved her hands again up to protect her face but it was obvious now that she also was only moving on her toes too, she looked shortly at Desmoshi before turning her golden eyes back at Amare.

Amare would of furrowed his brow as he watched Rowan lean to the left completely dodging his jab. Not only that she also went for an attack of her own. With his feet exactly where he needed them to be however, Amare had practiced his footwork enough to prep his next strike on her. Leaning backwards using his hips and upper body, Amare would take his time and when the jab reached the fullest extent of the strike, he would before dance backwards as if stumbling from the attack. Because he backed away, Amare would of noticed that had he stayed, Rowan too would of went for an uppercut that may of resulted in a knock out blow. Wondering if he should try some more drastic moves, Amare would try not to let her get any breaths in. As she took some steps back he would take double the amount of steps forward getting right into her space before unleashing a flurry of blows to her guarded face and sides.
The rush of being in the ring again was bringing a smile to his face, something that Amare had not felt in a while. He knew that this was something he always loved but was unsure how to properly express it. His vlogs his social media nothing gave him a rush like this. Perhaps he should look into doing this way more often?

Desmoshi was enjoying this. Maybe watching two people compete was exactly what he needed to take his minds off things. His mind drifted from school issues to real-life problems. First off the Fuchu Riots showed that his old middle school bully became a fulltime criminal who blamed Desmoshi of being a quirker. This put Desmoshi in a sort of funky mood. He would never think how he was back then would have a negative impact on someone else. He was just defending his sister from the bullies. But at the same time, he was still afraid to be that person who was so... angry. Like the criminal he met.
Desmoshi was broken away from his thoughts when he saw Rownan aiming another jab for his chest and chin. Amare avoided the hit by stumbling backward from it. He took a bit of a risk by stepping into Rownan's area of attack, attempting to rush her down with a flurry of blows. The swarmer approach seemed to be the best way to beat Rownan out. But that didn't mean she wasn't a smart fighter of her own caliber. Both were doing exceptionally well and Desmoshi wondered to himself how far had he come since coming to UA. But seeing the two smile as they had fun sparring reminded him that he was still on the right track.

It was obvious the first years and potentially second years as she didn't fight Desmoshi, weren't from yesterday. She knew she had a lot of catching up to do, but she wasn't going to let this be another Reddarcc fight where he had no idea about her and just used her with his strange red eyes as some sort of training dummy and smack her to the ground several times in a way that shouldn't have been necessary. After one hit it was obvious that she was done, why even try two or three more. No, she wanted this to be fun for Amare, who seemed to fake falling backwards, they were about the same height which meant about the same arm length and so on. Her golden eyes kept a focus on his movements, to see if she could read more into it.
He would take quick steps to her, on his toes, more so than she was and she managed to block it as he seemed to aim directly for where she had blocked. He was probably trying to tire her out, she frowned, what would be a good way. Again she couldn't use her knee or anything else than her hands in boxing gloves so she needed to think.
At least she could handle something thanks to Red and her own training and the like but she needed to not drag this on. How bad would it look if a third-year lost from a first-year? She would never recover. But it should be fun. Maybe she should do nothing, tire him out? Come on, come on, she needed to wait for him to take a moment, heat up, (though not literally she did not want exploding boxing gloves again) but than she made a fake move for his chin but instead lowered her push to his stomach, that being said she picked specifically where the liver should be. Liver knock out would give him a few more minutes before he would feel it, stumble and go out. However, with a knee hit that would go better, here was hoping.

Whether it was the steady thrum of the gloved leather punches on bare skin or the familiar sound of footgear dragging and sliding across the floor Amare was not sure, but a sense of fulfillment overwhelmed him. Soon enough he was smiling and laughing to himself during his punches, the exchanges he and Rowan would do brought the smile wider and wider still. As he began his assault on her guard Amare was aiming to tire out her hands and arms, but apparently his blows were not hard enough as she seemed to be readying herself for a counter attack.
Amare did not mind though he was ready for anything. There was nothing she could throw at him that he would not be able to dodge. Since kicks and throws were banned from boxing, that left only her arms to punch. Arms that Amare had pinned with his constant attacking. SO in his mental he was set, a good offense works as well as a good defense they used to tell him. Whether it was in that same moment of recollection or some other daydream that caught his attention, Amare would of lost focus allowing Rowan to land a devastating blow.
Recieving the full blow to his liver, Amare would of thought to activate his quirk right then and there allowing him to hit Rowan with the same amount of force. Though at the beginning of the match neither of them mentioned anything about quirks, so if they were not allowed he did not want to be the first one to break that rule amongst their sparring match. Rather lose the match than lose face amongst his upperclassmen. Doubling over with his knees hitting the floor of the mat, Amare would cover his stomach with one hand and put the other over his head as a show that he was giving up.
"I yield, I yield. That last blow really...did..me i-"
With that Amare would pass out slightly, not for too long but definitely black out. The pain seemed to be a lagging one, at first there was nothing then everything all at once.
