Kiersa watched the fight progress and her eyes widened as Desmoshi's father appeared to "trigger" this Breathing Style of boxing he had created from taking pieces of various other styles. Haymaker Senior's body seemed to almost move like water, the steam being released from his body apparently a side-effect of this styles breathing techniques... Then the bell rang to signal the end of the first round? Wait, there were rounds to this sport?
The young blonde blinked as the fight seemed to finish for the time being almost as quickly as it had begun. She rubbed the back of her head as Desmoshi asked the pair of them what they thought so far... "W-Well... I c-can sort of see why p-people enjoy boxing." she offered with a smile. Whilst she didn't think she'd ever take up the sport herself, she could see its merits.
Although Kiersa did have her concerns about what she'd seen so far. "D-Doesn't making y-your body s-steam up like that h-hurt you a-as well?" Kiersa asked, looking towards Mr Haymaker as he was taking his seat in the ring. The idea of heating up your own body to the point where you're literally steaming definitely did not sound healthy to her at all.
"I-If Mr Fayweather g-gets in a shot to the d-diaphragm or ch-chest whilst y-your father's in B-Breathing Style..." she left that thought hanging in the air unfinished, as she herself was uncertain as to what would actually happen. Kiersa was definitely feeling concerned though.
"H-How many r-rounds are there?" she asked after a while of thought. If there were knockout conditions, then there should surely be a time limit as well or at least a maximum amount of rounds they would fight through, or else these matches could go on forever and ever. Or at least until one of the fighters passed out. Kiersa sincerely hoped that that wasn't the case...

Desmoshi was happy that Kiersa was asking so many questions. Not many took an interest in the boxing or the Haymakers fighting style. "Well, the steam up isn't so much of an issue," Desmoshi said, understanding Kiersa's issue with the art. "The steam is just the sweat build-up due to pushing one's body to absolute limits. It also helps with expanding lung capacity, allowing us to survive longer fights. Yes, getting hitting in the diaphragm would actually be a problem because the technique relies on our breathing."
Desmoshi turned his attention to the screen as the fighters came out of the corner. "Now combine with our quirk and taking so much damage is where the problems come into play. Just because you increased stamina does not mean increased durability. The hyper increase would break the muscles if you use them for too long. Combine that with our quirk, and you have to be mindful of how much energy is put into it. Another thing is that damage can also cause wear down on our bodies. Yes, our quirk provides durability and that extra boost. But we have to hit hard enough to put the enemy down or train our bodies to handle the strain."
The fighters came out preparing for the next round, eyeing each other. This all will at this point. Who was faster? Who was stronger? One thing for sure- this would be the last round, no matter the result. "Usually it takes twelve rounds," Desmoshi replied to Kiersa's question. "However, I think it's ending in this round."
The bell rang and the fight was underway. The two fighters exchanged hits back and forth, each hit actually having more effect than earlier. Haymaker looked like he was wearing down, his breathing becoming more shallow. No more time to waste. Desmoshi knew his dad was ending this now.
His father began to sway back and forth, avoiding each hit Fayweather threw. But if one looked really close, Haymaker was building up speed. Once he had enough speed, he started raining punches left to right. "Its the infamous Dempsey roll- Haymaker Style! Will this be enough to put down Fayweather?" the announcer said. Desmoshi knew that each hit was putting a strain on his father. Each punch was aimed for Fayweather's face who was too tired to keep up his guard. Each hit resounded loud enough to be heard through the ring and on the last punch, Haymaker yelled, "PUNCH FOR PEACE!" There was enough force behind to put Fayweather on the ground.
The referee went up to the knocked out Fayweather, doing the ten-count. On the ten, Fayweather was unable to get up. "Knockout!" the announcer yelled. "Your winner- JOOOOOOKAAAI HAAAAAYYYMAKEEERRRRRRR!" The crowd went wild as Desmoshi and some of the other students who had gather cheered wildly. Jokai swayed a little his face a little bruised. The announcer went up to Haymaker with a microphone.
"Haymaker, what a match!" he exclaimed, putting a hand on Jokai's shoulder. "You still hold an undefeated record! What will be in the future for the champ?" Jokai waited for the crowd to go silent as he spoke into the microphone. "After boxing for twenty-five years," Jokai said breathlessly, "I can finally say this with confidence. I will be officially retiring boxing and my record. That way someone else can have a chance at it, and I can spend time with my family. Thank you for all the support you have given me over the years." Once that was said Jokai stepped out of the ring walking away with his coaches and his wife. The announcer was just as stunned the crowd. "You heard it here first folks," the announcer said. "The undefeated Jokai Haymaker is retiring his mantle and boxing. Jokai will be missed by all fans and we thank him for what he has done for the association."
Desmoshi looked over to his sister, who was just as surprised as he was. What the heck is going on?

Ray sat back as the son of the boxer gave them more insight on what was happening in the ring. With popcorn still in his mouth, he stopped chewing and sprang forward as jokai began to steam from his body. Was it a quirk? It was the first question that sprang to his mind and almost immediately Des explained the breathing technique. His father had reached a superhuman level of ability without using a quirk. It put a single lopsided smile on Ray's face. He was happy to see his new friend's father come back and, "So people can reach near inhuman levels with training too. Not just a quirk," It gave him more hope about his own training.
The popcorn crunched between his teeth as he stared at the screen, transfixed by the swaying boxing style on display. Kiersa made a keen observation about the opening in the style but Jokai seemed to calculate for it and pushed through even faster. In the blink of an eye, Fayweather was down and the room erupted. "Right on! Congrats Des!"
The cheering turned to silence as the renowned boxer announced his retirement. Ray sat back again and took a breath, before glancing over to Des who was looking at his sister. The look on their faces gave him the answer to his first question. They were just as surprised as the rest of them. "Well Des, seems like your dad is ready to come home." he put a hand on the young boxer's shoulder. He glanced over at Kieras, having a feeling she was better at consoling people than Ray was. "right?" he asked the light quirk user and waited to hear what Des's reaction was going to be. The rest of the room was more silent than before too. All eyes were shifting towards the children of the boxer, awaiting an explanation or anything.

The thought that people could reach that kind of speed and power without a Quirk to do so... It made the first year Hero student wonder if she could reach that sort of level herself. She could definitely think of a few situations where an increase in her speed could prove very beneficial. "Umm... h-how long d-did it take to r-reach that stage?" Kiersa asked curiously before watching the next round of the match carefully as she tried to see if she could pick up anything from the fight herself.
It was very hard to try and not blink as it seemed that Desmoshi was correct. Mister Haymaker was definitely trying to end this match here and now during this second bout. And it seemed that his larger opponent was of the same opinion. They were both unleashing such a flurry of blows, that it boggled the young girls mind that this was all being done without any kind of enhancement from their Quirks.
But Haymaker senior managed to get in a few more solid blows in key areas that broke Fayweathers guard, and with something called a Dempsey Roll... it was over. Kiersa had to quickly cover her sensitive ears as both the crowd on the screen, and the crowd here among the students burst into cheers at the outcome of the match.
When the cheering died down, she managed to catch the part about Jokai retiring from boxing... which appeared to shock both of the Haymaker children and confuse them, judging from the looks on their faces. "M-Maybe he w-wanted to end the physical p-part of his c-career whilst h-he was on top?" she suggested. "Y-You said it y-yourself... the B-Breathing style c-can be a strain on the b-body... So m-maybe thats why?" Kiersa offered as an explanation for Desmoshi and Mizuki.
It made sense in a way. If his style of boxing was proving to become too much of a strain on his body, it would be better to end it here and now before he did any irreparable damage to himself... Or else he could be in a worse position than he is right now.

Desmoshi thought about what the others said. This was something he was not prepared for. His dad had once told him that the day he quit boxing was the day he quit being a vigilante. Was this the moment he was talking about? "Usually it takes only a few years to reach. We train at a very young age on it, strengthening our bodies to handle the strain." Desmoshi looked down in thought. "But as anyone who learns the technique gets older, their body can't handle the strain for long periods. This is mostly due to the body getting older." Desmoshi looked at Ray who asked maybe he wanted to come home. "Maybe. But my dad doesn't usually do something without the family knowing about it. Something is up." He turned back to the screen as the credits rolled. What was going on?
In New York City
The older Haymaker, the great Jokai, sat in the locker room with his opponent and his wife. "Is this something that you want to do?" Fayweather said, leaning against the locker. "I never thought you would give up something that you loved. Plus, didn't you say that when you retire as the King of Fists that's when you would retire from boxing? So are you really giving up the whole vigilante thing?"
Jokai took a look at his opponent and friend, a towel on his head. "My body can't handle the strain anymore," Jokai said quietly. "Plus, my kids need their moment to shine. They can't do that if their dad is running around being a vigilante."
Suni looked at her husband. She knew better. "There's more, is there?" she asked with concern. His wife always knew him best. Jokai took a deep breath. "Last night I had a dream. It's a dream all of us Haymakers have when we know that our time is up. It was a line of gravestones, each with a family member's name on it. There was a gravestone where everyone gathered around it. And it had my name on it." His hand tightened around his fist as he told his story. "Haymakers only have this dream when they are about to die."
