Nakano had been one hell of a mess before and somehow getting the police involved to finally take it back had just made things worse...Mia knew it was gonna be for the better in the long run, but what had been a controlled, if somewhat shitty part of the city was turning into something closer to a riot or a warzone if you caught it on the wrong day. The police making the effort to take things back had the yakuza acting more forwardly in their methods of control, and this weird underground thing was taking advantage of the mess to try and take back the city in their own way. Across the board the whole place was in flux, and Mia could never complain about it. In the end good things were trying to be put forward, but the shit the locals were going through...it probably wasn't gonna be forgotten too quickly whatever the result.
Mia tried to make sure she was putting her own foot forward on the scene. At least unlike the past time a portion of the city was lost to criminals the police hadn't tried to forbid her from getting involved. Rushing through the streets with her titanic strength, she was constantly on high speed patrol, bounding across rooftops and darting through alleyways when it felt relative. Skimming like a stone across her next rooftop, coming to a skidding halt at the edge, Mia had been following the signals from the police in her earpiece, looking down on some rundown jewelery store that seemed to be in the middle of a robbery. Likely not yakuza, just some punks taking advantage of all the recent chaos. Mia almost didn't wanna deal with it, if only because it was likely some dumb kids who'd regret this for the rest of their lives if Mia brought them in...but she couldn't let it go either. For a moment she'd crouch atop the roof and watch the scene unfold. She'd give them...half a minute. If they started to run with the swag she'd give them even less time, but if they were smart enough to realize what idiots they were, she'd let them off with a scare..
Then again, if the police or another hero landed on the scene... well suffice to say she'd have to play the roll too. She just wanted to give the dumbasses something akin to a chance first, without her scaring them into it.

Thunk.
Thunk.
Thunk.
A heavily armoured bull slowly made his way through the crowded streets of Nakano. The mass of people lining the road all but parted like the Red Sea as he made his way forward, some moving out of the way out of respect and others out of fear. Others still refused to move, punks trying to act tough who were scared away with one flare of Wagyu’s nostril, or a slight tilt of his head.
He’d been patrolling the Nakano streets for about a week at this point. His usual patrol routes were far from the nicest places, but he was pretty sure he’d seen more robberies in this one week than he’d seen the rest of his days as a vigilante, let alone as a licensed hero. At the very least, it did give him something to do.
The police radio in his ear had reported a robbery at a jewelry store, and after checking his map Wagyu had found it wasn’t too far from his current position. A couple more strides, and the crowd finally thinned out, held away by hastily set-up police barricades and overworked officers yelling over the horde’s complaining and questions.
“Excuse me, Hero coming through.” He leaned down and spoke to one of the officers, who shakily parted two of the barricades to allow the hulking bull through. Already, he was running the situation through his head, figuring out his best method of attack. Obviously, at least one of the thieves had a Quirk, or they wouldn’t have needed to call on heroes to begin with. While he didn’t know who, apparently there were other heroes on their way, so he wouldn’t be on his own for long.
If this were the work of the Yakuza, the methodology would likely be cleaner, so most likely it was just a group of opportunistic petty thieves, taking advantage of the chaos. As such, it was unlikely for them to have experience fending off pros. Vigilantes, maybe, but not pros.
He cracked his knuckles, and readied for action.

The goons that had been having their fun looting weren’t oblivious to the police barricades that had been forming outside. But, of course, they weren’t too worried. They knew the police couldn’t use any quirks they may have against them without it being illegal. Sure, they were allowed to in self defense, but with officers that tended to be very strict. They could make sure they got out of a situation alive but fighting back was a big no no for the boys in blue. As such, when these goons had a quirker amongst their numbers, they felt they had nothing to worry about.
“Oy! Sal! Keep ‘em back will ya!? We almost got a way out!” One of them was messing with an old sewer grate, an odd design that was part of really old bathrooms that this establishment didn’t seem to have had the time to have bricked over. Just a bit of digging around the edge and they’d have a whole big enough to escape into the sewers!
The goon named sal himself hissed a little, his body lurching out of the store and narrow, slitted eyes atop a very long and flexible neck. The boy himself was covered in scales but seemed to have a neck and head of a snake, towering over an otherwise normally proportioned body. The police seemed to bark a general warning in his direction, but with a snap of his maw, he lurched forward, his head swinginging across the barricaded space and letting out a breath of fire, screeching across the area just to the edge of the barrier and forcing everyone to keep their distance. His snake like eyes narrowed further however as he spotted the armored minotaur taking his steps forward.
“What the hell are you suppossssed to be?” He hissed between his fangs.
Mia herself was still watching from a nearby rooftop. Now as much of an ego as she had, she wasn’t a glory hog and didn’t wanna steal someone else’s thunder, but as the snake like man reared back, something thick seeming to bulge it’s way up his throat, Mia leapt from the edge of her perch and landed between the bull and the snake man, her arm cutting across her body and taking a purple glob that had been fired by the snakely goon, smirking a little behind her arm before throwing it down to the side, mockingly looking to it with an ‘”eewwww.” Sound. The snake looked surprised to say the least.
Mia grinned over her shoulder with a wave. “Sorry, don’t mean to steal yer thunder mate!~”
“”W-what!? I just shot you with poison and you don’t and you don’t even flinch!?”
Mia herself looked back to the snake, shrugging with a smirk as she shook the slime off her arm. “Toxin resistant there mate…makes it a ballache to get drunk but it has it’s uses.~” She smirked with a cheeky grin before turning her eyes back to the bull. “Mind if I lend you a hand here mate?~”

To say Wagyu was unimpressed by the snake-headed man would be an understatement. He’d seen a lot of wannabe villains in his time, and while stunts like this might frighten Quirkless cops, it only made the snake seem less experienced. Plus, the other thugs seemed to be throwing their real names around; apparently, this kid’s name was Sal. Of course, it could still be a cover name, but it seemed too simple for that.
A newer hero would have a quip to throw out in response, but that wasn’t the way King Taurus played. “Turn yourself in now, or things will get ugly, Sal.” He had to offer him a way out, even if he knew he wouldn’t take it. They never do.
And, just as he’d expected, Sal didn’t listen. Wagyu often had villains spit venom at him during fights, but it usually wasn’t so literal. He braced himself, armoured hand in front of his body as a shield, only to feel nothing but a slight breeze, as someone landed in front of him. The other hero, he presumed, as they hadn’t taken the opportunity to attack him.
Lowering his arm, he immediately recognized the newcomer. Red Horn. They’d never spoken in person, but they’d talked through the pro hero chat briefly. He couldn’t say he respected her methods as a hero, but he wasn’t about to criticize his back-up.
“It’s fine.” He grunted, giving a small wave in return. “I’m not as concerned with the fame. Just don’t get in my way, and I won’t get in yours.” Knowing her, she wouldn’t listen, but he could still hope. Either way, with her toxin resistance, it wouldn’t be too bad.
Hoping Sal was still distracted by Red Horn’s entrance, Wagyu darted to the left, before trying to slam his fist right into the snake’s head. If he succeeded, he’d follow up with a punch to the gut, attempting to make the goon double over and give up. Whether or not he hit, his blows would at least push the both of them closer to the store, and thus give Wagyu a better chance to block the rest of the gang’s escape.

Mia shook off her arm to get rid of the lest of the toxic slim as she took a moment to confer with Wagyu. Seemed he didn’t mind her intrusion, and as every she didn’t mean to steal the show, but she’d certainly be adding her own flair to the proceedings. With a soft crack of her neck to either side, she lowered herself into a more ready position, prepared to take on this lizard lad and whatever other tricks he may have up his sleeves…or under his scales.
“Same goes to you. Don’t want an errant elbow swinging into your jaw there mate!~” She smirked nice and wide, already eager to see what this lizard could do, but rushing in ahead of her was her partner in arms Wagyu who seemed to wanna get this over and done with, a no nonsense punch aimed right at this snake man’s head. Mia quirked her brow, trying to resist snickering when the inevitable happened and the wirey head of the snake easily dipped out of the way of the punch, the snake man rearing back, fires flickering in his maw as he prepared to let out a torrent of flame on the bull from close range. Seeing her opportunity, Mia moved in.
With a hard kick off the ground from where she stood, she leapt up into the line of action of the snake man’s head, wrapping her firm hands around his maw and forcing him to swallow his own flames as she pulled his elongated neck back over his shoulders, relying on the flexibility of a snake to make sure this didn’t cause any serious damage, and watching the snake’s eyes as not only was he forced to hold his flames in his mouth, but Wagyu got a clean punch at his gut like he’d been planning. The combo of being locked mid-breath and the hard gut punch easily took him out of action, the long neck going limp, and a final cough of flames as Mia released the head.
“Niiiice one Bull!~” She chimed with a nice wide grin, bit still a look of determination in her slightly furrowed brow. She dipped her red eyes to the store itself, the goons inside seemed to have loaded up all the swag they felt they could get away with, and one hooked a second duffle bag on their spare shoulder as they realized Sal wasn’t coming. Mia could see them all rushing into the back, though the fact they seemed to be waiting in the doorframe said to her their escape plan wasn’t ready yet.
“Looks like we still got time! Come on!” She rushed towards the store, leaping over the shattered glass in one of the windows and pushing deeper into the store to hopefully catch them before they got away. Odds where if they had some escape method in the back, it might be a very niche and secretive way that the two heroes couldn’t follow them through, so best to grab them while they can.
(feel free to control some NPCs too btw~)

Good, clean hits to the snake, knocking him out cold. For all their ideological differences, he and Red Horn certainly worked together well in combat. He supposed it helped they were both heavy hitters. Either way, the first problem was out of the way. They didn’t know if any of the other thieves had Quirks, but if they did, they were certainly not the type suited to holding cops off like Sal’s had.
Wagyu just stoically nodded in response to Red Horn’s compliment; they could talk after they’d apprehended the villains, not right now. He followed her gaze, but motioned to the police behind the barricade to approach and apprehend the unconscious snake man. One of the cops, still shaken by the previous events, walked hesitantly over to the crook, and locked a pair of handcuffs around his back.
They were headed to the back, huh? He followed Red Horn’s lead, leaping the broken glass not quite as easily as she did, but almost as fast. He didn’t know how fast Red Horn could move, but he knew his own speed. More importantly, he knew the drawbacks to it, how difficult turning was when he really got going. The robbers had already broken a lot of the display cases, but if he were to just rush for the back at full speed, he’d probably crash into and break a number of the ones still standing.
Instead of risking it, he took off at a more reasonable, though still fast pace toward the back. Despite his self-imposed limitation, it didn’t take him long to reach one of the goons, and he aimed a punch right for his back.

With Wagyu charging in beside her and taking down a goon of his own, Mia managed to wrench one of the others away from a not so well hidden hiding place behind some of the display cases, not losing much of her momentum as she gripped the front of his hoodie and lifted him up off his feat before slamming him into the ground before her, throwing most of the air out of his lungs and leaving him a coughing, sputtering mess for at least a few seconds as he tried to catch himself.
“That all of you?” She’d ask, rather sharply compared to the banter filled personality she’d displayed outside. Her usually violet purple eyes the harsh red they became when she committed to her Oni state, and her muscular form creating no less than an imposing image as it lingered over the winded goon. No time to joke when they might be missing someone afterall.
“B-back!” He sputtered out. Mia didn’t need anything else, lifting him and slamming him back down just a little to wind him enough that he didn’t plan on getting back up anytime soon. She rushed into the back of the store, careful not to slam through the walls in her haste. By the time she got into the back, noticing the old style of the bathroom in the back, her eyes clocked onto a hole in the ground were the drainage grate may have been, cursing under her breath and throwing her arms down. She knew the hole was too small for a normal person, let alone her, so by the time Wagyu caught up all he could see was her ramming her head down the hole, trying to see if she could see where he was running, and though she could hear some wet footsteps along the sewer line, the chunk of pipe was still too small for anyone without a quick to have escaped through…that or they were a very skilled toddler. “Fuckin’…shit!”

Wagyu reached the back just seconds after Red Horn, yet the moment he took in the scene, he knew they were too late. Their last man must’ve had a Quirk as well, considering his escape route, and a type that neither he nor Red Horn had any hope of following for the present moment. A less composed individual might’ve snapped, and tried to punch their way through the sewer pipe by force, but Wagyu just sighed and put his hand to his forehead.
After a moment, his other hand went to his ear piece. “The last of the robbers appears to have escaped through the sewage system. He appears to have taken the stolen goods with him, and his Quirk seems to let him move through tight spaces, so keep an eye out. Surround the nearby area, check any exits from the sewers.”
He released his earpiece, and bent down to check on Red Horn. “See anything down there?” He asked, his tone still serious despite the admittedly silly position his fellow hero was in. This was far from the time to be joking around, after all.
“I’m guessing you don’t have a map of the sewer system around here, but the other thieves might...” Wagyu continued, his hand on his chin, absorbed in thought. “Though, they probably won’t give it up easily.”

With her head down in the sewer, she could still hear Wagyu behind her, the thuds of his heavy steps echoing through the pipe but his words a little more muffled, though she could tell he was reporting on the scene at least. She shifted to try and pull her head out of the hole that had been made into the pipe, but a soft ‘clang’ sounded out as the tip of her horn caught on the inside of the pipe, shifting herself a little and slowly dragging herself to a more upright position, unspooling some of the decorative bandages around her forearms, tearing a chunk off with her teeth, and using it to wipe her horn and face as she rose to her full height.
“No, no. No signs of it. Didn’t see anything that could help us either. I mean unless he literally turns into sewer waste, there was nothing he left behind that could hint at him turning into a slime creature or something to be able to get away…” She wiped her face a little more vigorously on her way out before tossng the raggedy bit of bandage in a trashcan they passed. “As far as getting a map off these lot…”
She looked to the goon she’d left on the ground, huffing a little through her nose, more mad at herself than anything else as he was easily knocked out. “I don’t think mine’s gonna be very talkative…what’s the state of yours? Open to a little interrogation?” She looked across to the beefy minotaur. As much as they were alike in build, she could tell he came off a lot calmer than she did personally, so the idea he hadn’t been as rough with the goons was not a farfetched one despite his impressive size and frame. “I mean either way we still got lizard neck outside so we might have a chance…”

The moment Red Horn asked if Wagyu’s goon was awake, he’d turned to leave the bathroom, and only gave a grunt in reply. If they were to catch the guy who’d gotten away, they’d need to act quickly.
Luckily, he hadn’t knocked the goon he’d hit out, only stunned him momentarily. With how the rest of his gang had fared, the thief had just remained where Wagyu had hit him, flat on his ass. After all, if he moved, King Taurus would probably hit him again, and that was the last thing he wanted.
The bull’s shadow loomed over him, and he flinched away. But, rather than the punch he’d expected, Wagyu only tapped him on the shoulder, firm but not hard enough to hurt.
“Your friend escaped.” He said, his tone not angry, but stern. “You can tell us what you know of how he escaped now, or you and your other friends can take your chances with the cops. So, what’s it going to be?”
He wasn’t usually one to take such a harsh approach, but time was of the essence. Every minute that passed, the last of the group got further away. They needed to get as much information as possible, and fast.

Mia fixed up the bathroom best she could, but the damage done to make it so that punk could fit down the drain. The old grate didn't fit in place anymore but Mia could do her best to at least...scooch all the rubble into one corner so it didn't look as bad to the owner of the store once they came back. Eventually of course she'd come out to see Wagy's work on the goon he'd managed to get to wakey wakey land, smirking a little and just watching him work as she leaned agains tthe wall, folding her strong arms over one another.
"Or you could take your chances with me." She'd add in with a cheeky tone, watching the goon and catching his eye, then pointing down to the one she'd slammed so hard into the ground he'd left a small dent in the foundation. The wood hadn't just shattered, it seemed to have warped around his body at the core.
A gulp sounded through his throat, and he slowly raised his hands. "O-okay. Okay. He...he said he was gonna use the loot to post our bail but I don't trust that freak as far as I can throw 'em." He stated, the guy seeming not to have a quirk probably leading to why he called the other a freak. "He's rushing downtown. We got a hiding spot in the back of an old sushi resteraunt. You'll know it cause it's got a big warning in the window from when it was shut down."
Mia narrowed her gaze, and added in. "Wait you mean that place that got closed down cause none of the sushi was actually fish?"
"That's the one." he quickly replied, hands still raised and unsure if he should be meeting Mia's gaze or Wagyu's.

Wagyu had been aiming to be the bad cop in this situation, but it seemed Red Horn was outdoing him on that front. The last thing he wanted to do was play bad cop and worse cop with her. When the goon was done confessing, Wagyu turned and rushed from the store.
He stopped by the police barricade just long enough to recap what happened to one of them. “The rest of the goons except for one are inside, the last had a Quirk too and got away. He’s headed toward the abandoned sushi restaurant downtown.” With that, he leaped the barricade, and charged off toward their goal.
Considering Red Horn was almost certainly faster than him, he didn’t worry too much about making sure she could catch up. At least the police had somewhat cleared the roads on the way, meaning he could go as fast as his hooves carried him.
The path to the hideout was shockingly uneventful for Nakano, and it felt like only a couple minutes before he skidded to a halt outside. Just from a cursory glance at the outside, it was impossible to tell if the last guy had arrived, but there was no reason to take the risk and go in alone.
He’d wait for Red Horn to show up, and then nod his head toward the front door. “I don’t think we should head in that way, knowing people like them there could be traps inside. Plus, he’d almost definitely hear us if he’s in there.”

Mia made sure the goon didn't have an easy way out before she left, resting a piece of the store's furniture over him, not adding pressure to him, but limiting his movement options severely while he was already bound and made an easy grab for the police, dusting her hands off as she headed about on her heels and started towards the door. Wagyu seemed to be addressing the police, so Mia turned to the crowd that, as ever, had naturally formed around such an event, raising her hands to quiet the questions of any aspiring little journalists that had rushed to the scene.
"No questions just yet everyone. This situation ain't over yet. We've managed to contain the bulk of the forces at hand here, but we're going to be making sure the job is done right before we give you the full scope of things." She lifted a finger to try and grab some attention from the less journalistic members of the crowd. "Now everyone, the Police still got a lot of work to do here. Keep your heads down, stay out of their way, but make sure you give them a good bit of acknowledgement. We all gotta play our part here and they do it spectacularly!" She had a wide grin, but as she turned to start moving her expression shifted to one fairly more serious again, starting into a sharp run and leaping up into the air with ease, catching a lampost, throwing her momentum along the outcropping over the street, and sending herself further into the air, her forward momentum turned skyward, and letting her land on one of the rooftops to more easily traverse the streets to her target.
When on the scene, she'd do Wagyu a fairness and wait for them to arrive, spotting them as they did and carefully moving towards them so as to group up without alerting the potential criminal inside, heading that a frontal assault definitely wasn't a strong idea, a fair smirk on her lips. "Well i'd offer to break in from above but I tried to stop the whole unnescasary demolition approach once I went pro...you got any idea on a plan of attack?"

Wagyu snorted in thought, and put two bulky fingers to his chin. “A location like this will surely have more than one entrance. Most likely, the villain got in through the drainage pipe, so we can’t follow his lead there, but there must be at least a back entrance. A gang wouldn’t hole up somewhere with only one way in and out, it’d be suicide.” He spoke softly, extra careful so whoever could be inside wouldn’t hear. “You go in from the front, and I’ll head in from the back. It’ll make it harder for him to hide.”
He motioned Red Horn to wait, and then headed for the alleyway next to the building. It was a tight squeeze for him, and his horn scraping against the wall threatened to give them both away, but by sidestepping instead of walking normally he made it the rest of the way without issue. It did make him look rather ridiculous, though.
When he was on the other side, it didn’t take long to find the back entrance. It was even sized for large deliveries to go through, meaning Wagyu didn’t need to duck down to get in. He tapped the radio in his ear and began counting down from 3.
“3.”
“2.”
“1.”
“Now!”
Wagyu kicked the door in and rushed inside, fast enough that the rusty chain holding the door shut shattered from the strain. The padlock dropped to the floor and pinged off the dirty floor.

“Followin’ ya so far…” She idly mumbled as Wagyu got to the drainage pipe. She wasn’t so sure about the multiple entrances, but she wasn’t so used to staking out criminal hideouts or heck, just working at places like what this little den of criminal activity used to be. She’d step up to the edge of her little perch and try and get a better look as she continued to listen. “Yeah…yeah fair point there.” At the idea she go in through the front, she had a wild grin and shot it towards Wagyu over her shoulder, nodding in response. “Ya speakin’ my language there bull boy.” At the gesture to wait, she’d do just that. She liked the forward approach but she knew enough to respect the process of biding time and the like. She’d peer out from her spot and make sure she had a better method of approach, lining herself up so, when the time came, she could bull rush the front door and charge in headfirst without mercy….well. Some mercy. She was a hero afterall. Plus watching Wagyu hop through the side of the building had her holding back giggles, which made it difficult for her to remain a big scary Oni one hundred percent.
As Wagyu yelled out just loud enough for Mia to hear, the Horned heroine rushed through the front door of the building, throwing her arm up across it and ripping it off it’s hinges while sending it flying in constant spins across the room. As Wagyu entered from the back, the villain they’d been chasing let out a confused and scared sound, not quite a squeal, but close enough. His body coiled up like a spring made of…paper, like he’d turned 2D but had the springiness of a cartoon to back it up in a 3 D space.
“I got ‘em!” She rushed forward, through out her arm, but only managed to feel a slither of his 2D foot slither against her grasp before her fist closed tight around nothing, the criminal rushing to try and get up and over Wagyu, zig zagging across the ceiling as they did. “Don’t got ‘em!”
