Yumi smirked a little at the villain comment, grasping he wasn't all that serious but, then again, hey, so long as he didn't necessarily fight anyone who didn't in some way deserve it or whent looking for it, what was the harm? Like, if he was a villain who only fought heroes, that was gonna be in their job description now right?
As for herself when the questions were turned to her, her expression dropped a little as she thought how best to explain herself. While she'd seen his quirk in action, she hadn't been able to return the favor yet. Afterall she'd always been in burnable clothes so it wasn't exactly easy for her to show off without seeming like one of the perviest attempts to flirt she'd have made yet. Not that she was flirting in her own eyes persay, but that's something for another day.
"Well er...my story is kinda..." She shrugged, finding this a harder story to make sound interesting than she thought. "Cards on the table, I spent most of my life trying not to use my quirk. Once I was old enough to really understand it I only used it when a kid really upset me in the playground. Around when I hit puberty, something happened and i realized my quirk had gotten a lot more powerful" She lifted her hand, flexing her fingers as she gazed at her palm, mentally feeling the tickling sparks under her skin but not silly enough to release it.
"So when the schools opened up I wanted in. I've spent so much time just suppressing my quirk and now I wanna learn how to put it to use. Maybe I'll stick it out and become a hero, maybe I'll drop out when I've got a hang of things..." She shrugged, leaning her cheek on her hand and sighing. "Who knows..."

When Yumi smirked at his villain remark, Darren wondered if it was one of those uncomfortable smirks. He did say it in the most casual manner, after all, and he was used to being off-putting.
She was definitely uncomfortable when he returned the question, though, as she broke in a life story about her quirk. He lifted his eyebrows jokingly when she said she only used when someone pissed her off on the playground. “Damn. The sandbox’s baddest bitch, huh?” He let her continue, keeping his mouth shut for a god damned second, as even he could tell when someone was telling an important story and his dumb jokes weren’t warranted. He just had trouble actually shutting the fuck up.
When she finished her story, Darren didn’t really know what to think of it. He always thought he had a weak reason compared to the few he’d heard from his classmates, but this was a new one. Rarely did you hear a heroics student talking about dropping out on the first week, and it was literally the first week of any heroic classes anywhere in the world ever.
Still, Darren respected her boundaries. It’s not like his own reason for being there was much better, so instead of poking her about it, he poked fun at her about it. “So that’s how it is, uh? You’re gonna rewrite my ballot to get elected class prez and then you’re gonna drop us in the middle?” he said in a mocking tone. To make it entirely clear he was joking around, he plastered on his face the dumb smile the girl and everyone at school was getting to know him for.
Not much was going on inside that blonde head of his now. With the girl's flirting gone, there was much less panic going on in there. Someone raised a concern that with all their bullshit, they managed to put themselves in the friendzone, but at this point, Darren had stopped caring. He'd learned a valuable lesson with Yumi: stop being a dumbass, be yourself, and stop shoving your god damn foot in your god damn mouth. And after all, she didn't seem to be the kind of girl to consider friendship a boundary, so who knows?
One particular organ of Darren's was satisfied with this conclusion, so he went back to sleep, asking his ocular nerve buddies to wake him up if anything good happened to catch their attention.

She smirked a little at the baddest bitch comment, rolling her eyes at it and making sure he understood. "To be fair, all it could do back then would give someone a static shock, like the kind you'd get off an escalator railing or something." She gave a light shrug, it never seemed too bad back then, a kid just tugged her the wrong way or tried to keep her attention when she wanted to do something else, and she'd give them a shock so they knew to leave her alone. It wasn't ever anything too malicious. She giggled a little as he went on about the ballot, raising a finger and narrowing her eyes. "Firstly, I swear you voted for me, you left your ballot open and everything when you passed it to me~" She stuck out her tongue and winked teasingly, knowing he wouldn't believe it but it seemed a playful enough thing to joke about. "Besdies, I said i might leave in the second year or something, you might have a new class rep or something by then, who knows...I do wanna do some good while I'm here."
She lowered her eyes, toying with a napkin from their meal between her hands, just folding it up, tearing it up, stuff to keep her hands busy. "I like seeing everyone figure out their quirks, and I wanna be a part of that, I wanna help people figure themselves out ya know? Its why i wanted to be the president real bad but...just because everyone else can be great heroes dosn't mean I will. Sure maybe my quirk will become 'useful', but i overthink, i get nervous...I'm not exactly the perfect hero material when it comes down to it really."

She was back to teasing and smirking and sticking her tongue at him about his totally legit ballot, to which he shrugged with a chuckle. “You’ve got the makings of a great politician,” he said with a cynical tone. And then she was back to talking about how she might leave, and her attitude visibly changed. She was tearing up her napkin, lowering her eyes, justifying herself. To the manipulative young psychopath, those were the telltale signs of someone doubting themselves. He got an inquiring look on his face, betraying the fact he was thinking, analyzing the girl. Perhaps her outwardly confident attitude was hiding her insecurities. Perhaps that’s where the whole shtick about leaving in the second year was coming from. Perhaps Yumi didn’t trust herself to be a hero. Or perhaps she was looking for a place to belong. That last thought struck a chord with the delinquent.
It was certainly a new facet of her personality, and while he would have loved to poke and prod the girl some more, he noticed the time on the clock behind them and his eyes widened. “Shit” is all he answered to her opening up. “Ain’t gonna sound a lot like me, but we better haul our asses back to class. Already skipped math yesterday morning.” He got up, his confident smirk back on his lips. “Come on prez, if we start being late together they’re gonna blame me when you drop out. Us shitty heroes gotta stick together,“ he said, his smirk imperceptibly shifting back to his idiotic one.
Maybe they weren’t prime hero material, but Darren was happy there was another goon like him in school. That the good in question was a cheeky, good-looking redhead with big personalities and just the right dash of bitchiness helped. Perhaps UA High was a place for him, after all.

I must say that this thread was genuinely great. It started off pretty funny then managed to smoothly slip into a kinda introspective heartfelt moment. Other than the good things, I don't really have anything to say other than "Great job!" Your experience total will be posted below.
