After a night of rest, in the infirmary for the worst-injured, the second round of the battle tournament was now officially starting.
Given the odd brackets, this second round promised to be a special one: indeed, instead of facing a single opponent, three participants would enter the ring in a free-for-all, with only one of them remaining in the end. In light of the injuries suffered by some of the participants in the first round, it was decided to add a ring-out rule, and the invisible barriers dressed in the first round were no more.
Between the jam-packed stands, holding about 10 000 people and under the watchful eye of the TV cameras, the three students who were about to fight were reminded of these rules once more by the school principal, speaking over the announcement system.
“Elimination is achieved by knock-out, surrender or ring-out, the latter happening when any part of the body makes contact with the ground outside of the ring. Once two participants are eliminated, the remaining one will advance to the semi-finals, which will return to a 1v1 format. I wish you all good luck, and may the best fighter win.”
With family, friends and strangers alike watching and cheering on them from the stands, the three combatants were directed to equidistant areas of the ring, while Geist-sensei announced them. “First up is Hirotaka Akio! A teenager who blows hot and cold and dishes it out all the same! He is also an adept of short-range fighting and will be displaying his skill on the stage! Be careful of his long reach and don’t attempt headshots, you won’t reach!”
“Second is Disukodo Arisu! Her purple fire doesn’t burn hot, but it will burn you out! Watch out for her nimble movement, and don’t tire yourself out chasing her! She could cinch a win there with her crafty tactics!”
“And last but not least, Shindou Tetsuko! After a riveting sword fight against the British delegate, her skills at close range will once again be put to the test in this match-up of martial artists! She wields her blade expertly, but she might gas out if she is not careful! Nonetheless, she will no doubt be a fierce opponent!”
“And now, without further ado… Let the battle begin!”
(ooc: posting order will be determined after the first round. You have 72h to post from the time the last poster did. There will be no more GM posts until the end, so no need to wait for me again! my apologies that this was started so late, it has been an off period for me. I hope you will enjoy the tournament nonetheless!)

Post by Tetsuko Shindou on Mar 18, 2019 20:40:15 GMT -4
Honor was not won so easily.
One hard-fought victory under her belt wasn't enough to satisfy Tetsuko Shindou. Nor was it nearly enough to appease her grandfather, nor the masters of her prestigious sword school. In the time since her fight against Arthur Hale, Tetsuko had spoken to to one Master Ueno, her grandfather's right-hand man, over the phone, hearing from him what her elder had thought of the bout. Hearing from him just how far she still had to go.
"He believes you fought well... Yet... Understandably, your draw in swordsmanship left him dissatisfied."
Of course it had. Tetsuko's blade, that she held so much pride in, had been equal to the English lad. Ryouichi Shindou was certainly not impressed.
"You'll keep fighting, of course. He wants his legacy affirmed... Your mother's legacy, affirmed."
Tetsuko knew she was closer, every battle she fought, to reclaiming it. That lost pride, that could be reclaimed, it was within her grasp. All she needed to do... Was fight on. Fight hard. Show them all just how powerful the Shindou name was, just how much fury and power was at its core.
"I understand. I will not dissapoint him again."
-------------------------------------------------
The next fight came, a 1v1v1. To some, it may have seemed daunting. To Tetsuko, there was no better stage on which to prove herself. She needed to surpass, to stand above her peers, if she wished to achieve her lofty goals. If she wished to paint another proud smile on that face. Spending little time faffing about in the changing room, Tetsuko donned her Hero suit once again, a resolute and deathly serious expression painted on her. Like a demon, she would be fanatical in this fight, furious and dangerous. To show them the resolution of the Shindou name.
The blue and white haori, the simple hakama and sleeveless top. This was the outfit she wore to suit that zealous look of hers, the attire of the Shinsengumi. Vanquishers of villainy, executors and heroes.
Called out and guided into the ring, Tetsuko marched forward with her eyes glancing toward her opponents as they were announced. Akio Hirotaka, someone she actually knew. He seemed to have some range on his abilities, but this was something Tetsuko had long since accounted for. Her blade's reach was far beyond what some might imagine. Of course, if it came to close quarters, Tetsuko had no doubt on her ability to dominate there.
Next was Arisu Disukodo. Her fire was unique, and potentially very dangerous to an unaware opponent. Tetsuko would need to watch herself, pace herself in spite of the two opponents against her. However, she didn't worry about the nimbleness part. Her own blade would have to catch evil, surely it could catch her...
Of course, in spite of her confidence and fanatical vigour, Tetsuko did not dare to underestimate her opponents. Together, they were a formidable combination. Tetsuko knew this would turn into a 2v1 very quickly, so considered that possibility among all others. That she may have to prove herself against multiple opponents...
The ironblooded girl welcomed this fact.
A fierce opponent was exactly what she intended to be, and once the start of the match was announced, the Shindou girl wasted no time picking her weapons. In her right hand, iron sprouted from the palm, shaping itself into a simple blunt katana, etched into the side were the characters dictating its name. 'Yukifuri', 'snowfall'. In her left hand, however, something more unique formed. Iron sprouted in a cable from just past her wrist, extending toward a palm and forming a tanto knife within, the bottom of its helt connected to that cable that had formed from her wrist.
Without further ado, Tetsuko marched forward toward her opponents, addressing them promptly.
"Arisu-san, Akio-san, let's have a good fight. I, Tetsuko Shindou, Steelheart of Kashima, face you now." Theatrics some might call it, yet to her it was just a formality. Raising her blades in a guard, she seemed to be ready for both of them to attack her. Expecting it, even, and her words confirmed this. "Well?" Tetsuko uttered, her eyes aflame with determination. She intended on being fierce like a dragon, and it showed.
"I'm ready."
--------------
Summary: - Tetsuko's fierce and ready - Greets her opponents in the ring, creates a blade in each hand - In her right - a katana. In her left - a tanto knife with an iron capable attached to her wrist. - Tetsu is ready for a presumed 2v1!

--- ARISU --- -better than watching paint dry- Round two. Arisu hadn't exactly expected to get this far, and- if she was honest- didn't expect to get any further. This wasn't a lack of confidence, in her eyes, but more a realistic understanding of her opponent. She was up against the worst kind of enemy in her eyes- a well trained, well conditioned one that didn't have to strike her with their bare flesh. But then- that said, neither did she intend to let herself be steamrolled. Every inch of ground she yielded was going to be paid for- not with blood, because that wasn't her style. No, she was going to take her toll from the wills of her opponents today- fighting her couldn't come down to a simple out-and-out brawl, for if she let it go there, she would already have lost. No, she needed to lock her foe in a war of attrition- force them to fight on her terms, somehow. She'd have to see what she could expect from Tetsuko and Akio before she could truly lay any traps for them with any merit- but she was already thinking ahead as far as she could. When Tetsuko introduced herself and dropped into a guard stance, Arisu curled her hands into dramatic fists and let black fire roil free of her limbs and burn through the sleeves of her coat. Hadn't she just done that the day before? Yes. Did she have multiple coats? No. Did she have multiple snap-on sleeves made of cheap fabric she could replace after every fight? Was she truly that vain? Yeap. "Steelheart!" Arisu called out, plowing her fist into her other palm, bowing towards the samurai. "Firewall. S'a pleasure." She shook her fists out, snapping each in a quick jab forward to loosen her muscles as she started forwards. "C'mon, Akio-san- let's give the people a show." With that, the girl brought herself forward, both arms lifted up into a boxer's guard. Her form showed that she knew what she was doing- but if one was honest, it didn't compare to the excellence that comprised Tetsuko's own form. She hadn't gotten a chance to see Akio in motion just yet, but she suspected she'd need his help to have even a prayer to shut Tetsuko down. Arisu broke into a guarded sprint, guaging the distance as best she could- and praying that the girl's reach with that terrifying iron quirk didn't outstrip her own. The moment before she hit the extent of her own reach, Arisu threw her torso backwards, dropping into a slide towards Tetsuko. She suspected that she wouldn't have the reflexes to completely respond to the girl, and anticipating her attacks was the best she could do. Against a charging opponent, she only had three obvious options at ten meters. Strike with a ranged blow, close to melee, or remain where she was. If she threw something, she was hoping the extremely low profile would slip her beneath the attempt! Anything else wasn't of immediate concern- if she dodged, she dodged, there was no use worrying about that. She spiked the stone stage with her elbows to shove herself partway upright before letting loose a twinned cascade of black flame just barely to either side of Tetsuko, sweeping them together to both attempt to catch the swordswoman between the pillars of black flame and to propel herself rapidly backwards and- hopefully- out of the swordswoman's reach (and her own) post haste, rolling backwards with the force launching her to the rear, coming up in a crouch with her boxer's guard back up again, trying to analyze the effect of her attacks as she scrambled back to her feet! She didn't know what to expect from Akio, but she sure hoped he was as up for this as she was! -greets Tetsuko back! -rushes Tetsuko, dropping into a high-speed slide just before she gets into range for her own powers, trying to avoid any ranged strikes by doing so -sweeps two streams of black fire to either side of Tetsuko and tries to swing them in on her position --propels herself back out of her own range, rolls backwards and pops up in a boxer's guard, scanning to see what the effects were and what Akio's done!
ANTIPYRE
Type: Emitter Rank: E Description: Arisu can project and control a blue-black flame-like energy using her arms. It doesn't burn living things or materials, and emits neither heat nor light, but corrodes energy sources, exhausts living things, and renders substances fragile, to the point a simple punch could cause them to collapse.
Effects: Antipyre deals normal damage to objects, themed as a weakening or crumbling of its material. It deals standard damage to energy constructs as well, but inflicts exhaustion damage on anything living, draining their energy instead of inflicting physical harm. It can be used to fight fires, downed electrical lines, and other energy-based hazards of its rank or lower, and has the standard range (10m) for an Emitter quirk.
Drawback and Weaknesses: Antipyre's biggest drawback is its effect on Arisu. Not only does creating blackfire consume her own energy reserves, it also seeps into her bloodstream. The veins in her arms turn black as she pushes her limits, tracing back up towards her chest. If they reach her heart, they will slow her heart rate and, possibly, stop it entirely if pushed far enough.
Controlling it after projection requires large, clumsy movements, and if her arms are restrained, she cannot manipulate this energy at all until they are freed, limiting her to blasting the energy wherever her arms happen to be pointing at the time.
Blackfire Brawler Type: Martial Art Rank: F Effect: Before Arisu realized she couldn't set anything on fire, she kept her flames close, wrapped around her hands instead of launched all over the place. She has a long way to go with regards to actual combat application, but has some practice ducking and weaving, and can punch hard enough to splinter wood.
Exhaustion Expert Type: Enhancement Rank: F Effect: Constant exposure to Antipyre has left Arisu resistant to natural exhaustion- her stamina is improved, allowing her to keep on keeping on for a little longer than others might expect.
Antipyre Propulsion Rank: F Effect: Arisu has perfected the most basic propulsion maneuvers she can think of by using bursts of Antipyre to launch herself around. She can currently change direction in ways that would otherwise be impossible (making sharp turns at full tilt sprints, 180 degree about-faces without loss of speed), vertical or horizontal lunges across smaller rooms and gaps (5m or so), and allowing her to eliminate or reduce damage from falls, provided she is conscious to do so.
Accelerated Tactics Rank: F Effect: Extended practice with her own physical training and her propulsion techniques have raised Arisu's top speed significantly, allowing her to both run faster and control sustained blackfire burns to increase her maneuvering speeds as well. She can now reach speeds comparable with a competitive sprinter whether on foot or using her propulsion techniques.

Post by Akio Hirotaka on Mar 20, 2019 13:55:31 GMT -4
Round 2 had begun and boy was it going to be an interesting one. A 1v1v1, a first for Akio, he'd only ever participated in 1v1 spars before. Things to even more interesting when he stepped out onto the stage and the combatants were announced, he was up against a girl called Arisu but the interesting part was he was also up against Tetsuko, someone that he knew, someone that also knew the basics of his quirk, which would make it harder to fight her. As he stepped into the arena and heard his name called out he continued walking forward, stretching his arms and then his legs when he finally came to a stop. He looked around the arena as he listened to the rules be announced Ring out? That wasn't a rule in the first round, I guess they've added it to spice things up he thought to himself before he heard Tetsuko address himself and Arisu, he could see she had produced 2 weapons, one in each hand, he looked over and saw black flames on Arisu's arms "Ah man, Tetsuko's got weapons and you've got some kinda fire, all I've really got is my fists, I wonder how this is gonna end up," he said to Arisu, partly it was a legitimate complaint but it was also partly mind games, to try and get them to lower their guard, even slightly, if he was to stand a chance in advancing to the next round, he'd need to exploit any advantage or weakness he could find. He assumed his relaxed but alert and focused fighting stance. He heard Arisu call out to him saying to give the people a show, he let out a soft chuckle "Well, I'll try my hardest to," he called back out as he waited for one of the girls to make the first move Turns out that first move would be made by Arisu as she charged straight towards Tetsuko and then dropped into a slide, Akio decided to run behind Tetsuko, hoping that she'd be too busy focusing on Arisu to notice, if he could get behind her he could hopefully get a grapple on her, he knew one thing for sure, as long as Tetsuko was in the fight, his chances of winning dropped dramatically Arisu and I are going to have to work together to take out Tetsuko, it's the only way he thought to himself as he charged Tetsuko from behind, hoping to get a grip on her hands to render her weapons useless ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Tried to get Tetsuko and Arisu to underestimate him by complaining that he only has his fists to fight with -Realizes him and Arisu will need to work in tandem to defeat Tetsuko -Tries to charge Tetsuko from behind while she focuses on Arisu Abilities: Mundane Abilities Cooking Rank: E Effect: After spending time practicing his cooking in the dorms and at the cooking club Akio has developed his cooking skill to the point where his dishes are at a professional level of quality
Basketball Rank: F Effect: After spending time practicing in the school's gym, Akio has developed his basketball skills to be that of a professional player. Due to his tall height compared to his peers he usually plays the center position Abilities Minor First Aid Type: Skill Rank: F Effect: Akio is able to perform minor healing on himself and others by cauterizing small lacerations/wounds, using his quirk to provide heat/cold treatment to burns, bruises and sprains or by numbing pain by cooling the affected area down.
Street Fighting Type: Skill Rank: E Effect:Due to his training with G Akio has learned street fighting. Although only knowing basic fighting techniques at the start of his training, Akio has worked to get to a level where he could compete at an Olympic level
Toughness Type: Enhancement Rank: E Effect: Through training Akio has been able to increase his defensive toughness and as a result is able to take more hits. His durability can be compared to that of stone
Stamina Type: Enhancement Rank: F Effect: Through training Akio has increased his stamina and is able to perform physical activity for a longer period of time, his stamina being able to be compared to that of a professional athlete
Quirk
Thermokinesis Type: Emitter Rank: E Effect: Akio is able to control the temperature of any object or surface that he is touching. He is able to achieve this by manipulating the energy of the atoms in an object by either injecting energy from his own bodies atoms to heat up objects/surfaces or absorbing energy from an object/surface's atoms. When he heats up or cools down an object the entire object is affected, whereas the maximum range of him heating up or cooling down a surface is about the radius of a large plate. He is also not affected by the change in temperature unless he uses the ability directly on himself. The maximum he can heat an object to is about the temperature of a bonfire and the lowest is about the temperature of an industrial freezer. He is able to increase the temperature to the maximum temperature within 10 seconds and is able to decrease the temperature to it's minimum temperature within 5 seconds.
Drawback: Since he achieves the effect of his power by injecting or controlling the energy of an atom, he is at risk of losing or gaining too much energy which could seriously damage his body. He also loses his immunity to this ability and struggles to accurately control the temperature. He also cannot use this quirk on living beings. As his quirk causes fluctuation in temperatures, his personality at times can fluctuate between his regular kind and caring self, to a more impulsive, brash and sarcastic personality. He can change the temperature of an object up to 10 times before he becomes fatigued and has a high risk of damaging his body and has a 5 post cooldown.

Post by Tetsuko Shindou on Mar 22, 2019 10:32:28 GMT -4
As Tetsuko desired, it seemed like she'd be facing on both her opponents at once. No choice but to prove she could take one two of her peers alone, no choice but to stand above. It was the gamble she took, one that took no small amount of resolve to enact. The thought of losing now, of coming taking another step toward that lost pride only to it all... That thought terrified Tetsuko. That thought horrified Tetsuko. Most importantly, that thought drove Tetsuko. Let the odds be against her, for she had the will of those who came before to even the numbers.
"Firewall... Better make me remember that name." Tetsuko uttered with an uneasy grin towards the opponent that so kindly greeted her, with the Shindou girl bowing back in courtesy. As anxious as she was, Tetsuko knew the power of pride, and let it shine through above all else. She would not win as a coward or weakling, she would not win as she was. She would win as she wanted to be.
Akio wasn't quite as formal with his approach, though seemed equally interested in giving his best against the swordswoman, in spite of his apparently unarmed status. "You honour me by both giving your all. I'll give you much the same, so no matter the wall you face, don't be discouraged!" Immovable. Incomparable. Unconquerable. All things she had to be, all things she had to become. This fight, Tetsuko believed, was her chance to show why she, even among her talented peers, could achieve those lofty goals and stand above, claiming a pride unforgotten!
Tetsuko slipped back in to stance quickly as her opponents approached, raising her katana in a centre line stance. The iron cable from by her wrist, that connected to her tanto, would sprout further, extending the cable out as she gripped it, slowly spinning it her side with the tanto itself as a weight. The snake was coiling to strike, however Tetsuko would have to be careful not to bare the fangs too early.
Arisu was taking the lead, from the looks of things, but Tetsuko didn't keep her focus off Akio. When facing multiple opponents, losing track of even a single one could be a fatal mistake. He'd have to be creative if he wanted to get the drop on her, someone who'd walked into this fight with the expectation of being outnumbered! Keeping him in the corner of her focus, Tetsuko remained guarded towards Arisu, anticipating her attack. The other girl wasn't being reckless, her competent guard showed that much, but at the same time Tetsuko couldn't help but notice the contradictions in her approach.
Range was a clear advantage Arisu had, why waste it with an approach so straightforward? The snake remained coiled, Tetsuko realising the implications of falling into any trap her opponent might be setting. At any right, striking at this distance was too much of a risk, so for now, the Shindou girl resolved to see what her opponent could do. Jikishinkage-ryuu was about remaining firm in the face of opposing force, before pushing it back without delay.
The moment Arisu was in ideal range for Tetsuko, the girl dropped to her knees in a slide, showing her plan before the swordswoman. So, she intended to try and anticipate Tetsuko's moves... Well, while projectiles were something in Tetsuko's arsenal, the chain-wielding arts of Meifu Shinkage-ryuu were still available! As Tetsuko readied to lash out her cable-tanto at Arisu, however, she noticed Akio making his own move, running around to evidently attack from a new angle... Tetsuko changed her plans. Something much more convenient had just come her way.
"Let's see what you have, Firewall!"
Holding her blade in a firm pre-emptive block, Tetsuko awaited her opponent's strike, as iron coursed through her arm... Surely enough, pillars of flame burst forth, aiming to pincer her from either side! At the same time, a glance backward showed that Akio was approaching from behind. Tetsuko was, by all means, cornered.
A perfect disadvantage to fight her way out of.
Iron burst from her katana-wielding arm, tearing apart the sleeve of her haori, and quickly wrapping around her arm in iron bands, a rudimentary 'wrapping' that served as armour, leaving her elbow free for movement! Holding her blade in a horizontal block too, this would let her shield some of the flames for the short time, and would surely be a useful defence!
"Tetsudzuka Yoroi!" (Iron Hillock Armor))
The fire burned against it, yet there was no heat. Only decay, the blade and armor weakening from the flames against it, those that couldn't be blocked 'burning' away parts of Tetsuko's haori, some striking against her. It was like a jab to her core with each flicker of flame that touched, she could feel it sap her energy... Against many, this would be destructive. Tetsuko, however, had her own way to resist any major effects.
She breathed in, breathed out. Let herself become immovable. Then, she pushed back.
Not letting the flames hit her for very long at all, only a moment after, Tetsuko quickly turned her attention backward to the approaching Akio! With a swift movement, she flicked back the cable-connected tanto knife towards the tall boy, aiming to chain one of his arms! If successful, she'd quickly pull him inward, yanking the cable around while her other hand still blocked the flames. Spinning on the spot as she pulled Akio, Tetsuko would switch to a backhand grip with her sword, jabbing it backwards into the boy to try and shove Akio into the flames Arisu was firing for the last bit of their cascade!
If she'd succeeded, Tetsuko would then have Akio between herself and Arisu. With her armor and blade ready, but weakened, she was prepared to execute her counterattack.
"You're bold to get this close..." Tetsuko proclaimed to Akio, as she let the cable that she used in her attempt to pull him snap from her wrist, leaving her with just the sword and armour. Tetsuko quickly lashed out the former in a rapid thrust to Akio's midsection! Aiming to keep him between herself and Arisu, Tetsu's goal was to deal with Akio, while using his height as a liability against his ally!
"Close range is my territory."
-------------------------
Summary: - More greetings and honor etc. - As Arisu charges, Tetsuko assumes a guard and begins spinning up her cable-tanto - Keeps an eye on Akio, knowing her disadvantage against two people! - Arisu hits that slide as soon as she enters Tetsuko's effective range! Tetsuko readies to release her tanto, but notices Akio moving, and gets a different plan - Arisu lights it up! Tetsuko armors up her arm with iron, and tries to block the first few moments of the barrage, feeling some of the effects of the weird fire! Her sword and armor are weakened a bit! - As Akio charges from behind, Tetsuko tries to latch onto his arm with her iron cable, before attempting to pull Akio around while spinning herself and jabbing him with her sword, attempting to reverse positions and have him taste some of the flames too! - Breaks the cable, is now essentially using Akio as a Brobdingnagian shield between her and Arisu - Thrusts her sword to Akio's midsection, proclaiming close range to be her territory!

--- ARISU --- -better than watching paint dry- Akio's comments about only having his fists rang hollow- or deceptive- to Arisu's ears. The boy had made it this far, so either his fists were absolutely worth his place in this round of the tournament, or else his quirk more than made up for that, and she couldn't know which until she'd seen him fight. Tetsuko's immediate response to her attack was to armor up her arm and... move to parry? With her sword? Aside from the strangeness of expecting a slender blade like a katana to do much to disperse the flames with a stationary block, Arisu had no intention of allowing Tetsuko to prove her wrong! Bringing both arms down in a dramatic motion that slammed her palms onto the ground, her blackfire- all of it, not just the streams she was projecting that particular instant- rushed downwards, diving under the attempted block to form twin trails of dark flame churning into a roiling bonfire around Tetsuko's feet! As she rolled back onto her feet after jetting backwards, she saw Tetsuko fling something on a chain towards Akio. She reacted as quickly as she could, swiping both arms to the side in obvious, grandiose gestures that sent the contrails of darkened flame rushing aside to scatter and pool on the stone to either side of the fighters, hopefully sparing Akio the worst of the flame's effects- but Tetsuko was extremely quick, and there was no guarantee it'd work. With luck, it'd be enough to let Akio correct for the rest himself. When Tetsuko made it her business to show Akio who was in control, Arisu saw what she thought might be an opening. She was still trying to think a couple steps ahead, and at this point expected Tetsuko to be accounting for everything she'd already attempted. She'd brought an attack against her legs- she could probably expect the ironblooded samurai to clad those in iron. She'd already proven she could manipulate her flames- the girl might well anticipate that and try once more to leave Akio in the path of her flames. Rather than leave that to chance, Arisu's counterattack- reaching out as if to grab at her flames directly, then dragging her arms inwards and upwards like a conjurer directing a flooding storm or a conductor, the lingering patches of Antipyre erupted towards Tetsuko's back, sweeping towards the base of her spine in an upwards curve, designed to blast upwards without striking Akio even if she predicted the maneuver and dodged. She stayed at the edge of her range, watching the fight carefully, trusting Akio to make life miserable for Tetsuko up close while she desperately attempted to burn the girl's reserves down to nothing. She wasn't sure if she'd have enough left to handle Akio after that- but if they could work together to bring down Tetsuko before they both went down, it'd be far more satisfying to fall to Akio than to just be a stepping stone for Tetsuko's rise towards the top. She didn't have the other girl's sheer experience in battle or with her quirk- she'd have to rely on ingenuity, surprise, and numbers to make up for what she knew she lacked in outright talent. There was no room here for the self doubt or anxiety that plagued her- simply being here was already better than she'd expected! -Akio comments about only having his fists- that can't be right, he made it this far! --I'll try my hardest, also! -She's- gonna block? With a sword? --slam hands palm down onto the ground and snap the streams- the entire streams, not just what's coming out now- down around her legs instead of playing straight into her intended block! With her attention on Akio, that'll probably get her good! -WAIT SHE'S TRYING TO MOVE AKIO IN THE WAY! --jerk arms to the side and leave the black flames in messy patches to either side of the pair- then swing both arms in as she tries to attack Akio with her sword, redirecting all the lingering flames and aiming for the small of her back since she probably armored her legs after the last shot! As Akio charged Tetsuko it looked like she was keeping most of her focus on Arisu, that is until Akio saw the chained tanto being thrown towards him, he wasn't expecting her to attack him so he was thrown off guard and caught by the chain Shit, I didn't expect her to come after me first he thought to himself as she yanked him towards her using his own momentum and it looked like he was heading straight for Arisu's flames, then suddenly the flames moved out of Akio's way, though it didn't completely spare him from the effects as one of his arms passed through it and he could feel his energy draining away, though since he'd developed his stamina it didn't have too much of an effect on him. Akio then found himself trapped between Arisu and Tetsuko, with the latter thrusting her sword toward his midsection, proclaiming that close range combat is her territory "It may be your specialty, but it's not as if you have a monopoly on it!" he shouted towards her as he sidestepped the thrust and grabbed the sword, sending a burst of heat running down the blade right towards Tetsuko's hand, he'd then step forward and send a punch aiming straight for her stomach, whether it connected or missed it's traget he'd then step back out of Tetsuko's range "I'll face her head on here Arisu, can you back me up as much as you can?" he asked Arisu, keeping an eye on Tetsuko the whole time not wanting to give her any opening to attack, if he let his guard down for even a moment Tetsuko could take him out. He lowered himself into his relaxed but focused fighting stance, if Tetsuko looked in his eyes she would be able to see how determined he was I WILL win this he thought to himself as he started Tetsuko down, waiting for the next move ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Pulled in by Tetsuko's chain and was hit by a stray flame from Arisu -Sidestepped Tetsuko's sword thrust and grabbed it, sending a burst of heat towards her hand -Directly after sending a burst of heat towards Tetsuko's hand he attempted to punch her in the stomach and asked Arisu to back him up while he faced Tetsuko head on -Resumed his fighting stance and fully locked in onto beating Tetsuko

As confident as Tetsuko was, this wouldn't be an easily won battle.
Arisu was, easily, the more formidable of the two in this scenario. If she was going to take them both at once, a ranged caster was going to be quite the nuisance, far more than the lumbering, range-limited giant that Akio was. Arisu revealed her ability to manipulate the flames as a whole too, bringing them down to Tetsuko's legs. Their effects couldn't be afforded, and given how vital defense was going to be for this fight, Tetsuko considered it was about time she armored up anyway.
Expanding her Iron Hillock Armor, iron would sprout from Tetsuko's legs, much in the same manner as it had sprouted from her arms, iron bands wrapping around her legs as a rudimentary but capable armor was formed, weathering the decay of the black flame. The armor grew weaker, but remained functional, mirroring the creed of Tetsuko's style. Far from invincible, yet determined to be immovable.
As her ironclad lower half shielded her from the flames, Tetsuko didn't let her opponent's movements that initiated the attack go unnoticed. The slamming of her hands into the ground seemed to indicate to Tetsuko that the other girl needed to 'conduct' her flames in some manner... Either that, or she just had a large flair for theatrics. It was better to take the first, safer, bet.
This seemed to be confirmed as Tetsuko performed her reversal with Akio, and Arisu directed her flames away with movements like those of an enthusiastic maestro. The girl was conducting no orchestra, but flames of black with powerful properties.
What's more, her constant control of them meant she could continue to be a threat from so far away on the battlefield. Akio himself was a bit less considered in his approach, Tetsuko launching into a testing thrust and finding him doing as she'd expected he might. That blade gave a direct line from his hands to hers - allowing him a path to burn her if she let him.
However, she wouldn't let him.
"The strongest takes the territory." Tetsuko replied firmly to his statement. As the heat burst down her blade, she acted quickly, manipulating it so that the iron thinned dramatically toward the hilt, enough so that a simply harsh push broke off the bulk of her blade, leaving it in Akio's hands, breaking the link that could've burned her hands just in time! The sword was still hot, but the discomfort was manageable.
He followed it up with a straight punch, to which Tetsuko dodged to the side, jabbing his wrist as he punched with her broken blade, a harsh and strong metal would be attempting to wound one of his hands right away. She was about to follow it up with another strike, before the grandiose movements of Arisu caught the corner of her eye again. Were they more subtle, she would've missed them. Instead, a single direction was discerned from the motions.
Up!
They were going to strike upward! With no time to gauge the specifics of the attack, Tetsuko knew only one thing: Move! Disengaging from any kind of follow-up against Akio, Tetsuko dashed away from the boy, rapid on her feet as the flames clipped her while she moved. The upward cascade would burn away the weak fabric of the haori on her other arm, leaving her with barely any left on the jacket by now, and also resulting in her feeling the effects of the flame once again.
Already, her breathing broke for a moment, a sign the drain on her stamina was already taking effect. Fighting two opponents was taxing enough. Arisu's flames and Akio's potential damage just made it worse.
"Not making it easy for me..."
Tetsuko uttered, a grin forming on her face, as she shed the remains of her haori. Now it was just the white, sleeveless robelike top she wore. Her legs and right arm were still armored, and a broken blade was in her right hand.
"So I guess it's time I stop making it easy for you guys too."
It was as good a time as any. To unveil her secondary artform.
With a rapid and ferocious movement, Tetsuko flung her broken sword at Akio's head with deadly precision. In that same moment, she began to move, not towards him. Towards Arisu.
'I've been going about this all wrong.../color]
With speed equivalent to an Olympic sprinter's, Tetsuko dashed towards Arisu, a vicious look in the swordswoman's eyes. The moment she'd began moving, the moment right after she'd thrown her broken blade, new weapons formed between the fingers of her left hand. Iron spikes, dulled points so they wouldn't pierce too far, but painful and powerful nonetheless.
"Meifu Shinkage-ryuu: Sagi!" (Heron)
As Tetsuko bolted towards Arisu, she'd flick her arms to launch these iron spikes right at the other girl, one after another, aiming for her center of mass. Within Tetsuko's accurate range, she was hoping to force Arisu to move or take them, and to test other things.
Of course, given her speed advantage and the distraction thrown at Akio, Tetsuko expected to reach Arisu before Akio was close to catching up. If she did, Tetsuko would swing that hard, armored arm at the girl, aiming to pressure her back right away, and set up for Tetsuko's own safety...
Were she one to avidly play video games, Tetsuko might've more readily understood how to approach this fight from the start, how she now she approached the fight.
After all, it was always more convenient to take out the casters first.
------------------------------------------------------ - Tetsuko armors her legs against Arisu's flames! - Begins to notice Arisu's tells with those big movements - Akio grabs, but Tetsuko manipulates the iron of her blade to off most of it before the heat can burn her hands! - Dodges his punch to the side and jabs into the wrist with her now broken blade - Is about to go for the followup... - Great pillars of fire! Tetsuko sees Arisu's big, upward movement and only had time to dodge away further from Akio, avoiding most of the flame but 'burning' off what remains of her suit's robe-jacket (haori) - Is already starting to realize how exhausting this fight is going to be! - Yeets her broken sword right at Akio's head, immediately darts off toward Arisu - Creates 4 iron spikes - bo shuriken - in her hand, launches them one after another at Arisu's center ( Arisu is within Tetsuko's accurate range) - Using her speed to get to Arisu well before Akio if all goes well, she'll swing her armored arm at Arisu.

--- ARISU --- -better than watching paint dry- "You got it, Akio! Keep her off me and we've got this!" Arisu called out, unconcerned if Tetsuko could hear what she was saying or not. Tetsuko had reacted as quickly as she'd suspected, and slammed more of that iron into place over her legs to minimize the exposure to the cold flame's draining effects. From Arisu's perspective, this was as good as landing a hit, almost- forcing Tetsuko to expend her iron and energy defending against the attacks was going to prove draining in the long run as well, even if not as efficient as if she was striking directly. Even then, however, she suspected that those iron plates weren't going to provide complete protection, and that while protecting herself from direct exposure was probably preferable, after counting the energy it took to provide that protection, that margin was probably more narrow than Tetsuko wanted to admit. Which explained why the next thing to happen was the samurai blitzing towards Arisu. The shift was predictable. Truth told, as a closet gamer herself, Arisu had been wondering why the experienced warrior hadn't beelined for her in the first place, but she wasn't about to call out that mistake before the girl came to that conclusion on her own. There was exactly one factor that spared her the full and nasty impact of all four of the weapons Tetsuko sent lancing through the space between them- the time it took to form them in the first place. It wasn't much time, but then, Tetsuko wasn't much faster than Arisu, and by the time the first dart spiked through the space she'd just occupied, Arisu had flung herself backwards and to the side, arms snapped dramatically back into a crossed guard in front on her. It was an unnecessarily... well, cartoonish block for the girl to use when she'd been wielding a boxer's block beforehand, but in the heat of things, as Tetsuko no doubt adjusted her aim to track the evasive girl as she fled backwards, rolling and popping back up into an awkward, pained crouch- as a result of taking two of the heavy kunai-style throwing darts to her hip and thigh on the side nearest her original position, if Tetsuko stayed focused on adjusting her aim and stayed on the offensive- Tetsuko might not make the immediate connection to why Arisu had chosen the less effective crossed arms. She'd done so for two reasons. One, Tetsuko hadn't aimed for her head, which was what boxing guards protected. At range, skilled marksman almost always took shots towards the body, as they were far easier and nearly as impactful. Tetsuko had proven herself extremely intelligent, and Arisu acted on the assumption that she'd continue to behave wisely. Two? The motions needed to protect her chest also happened to form sweeping, drawing-in motions. The sort that could drag the mostly evaded torrent of black flames down over Akio's head in a thick cascade of darkfire rushing down towards- and possibly engulfing- Tetsuko's bee-lined path towards their source- Arisu herself. If Tetsuko had stayed focused on capitalizing on her superior weapons, she'd have succeeded in crippling the girl's ability to move very far, leaving one leg lame- by the time she closed and threw her haymaker, Arisu would have no way to get away from her again. Most likely, it'd just be a matter of time before Tetsuko's superior weapons and skill could bring Arisu's time in this ring to a close- the sweat beading her face screamed that she wouldn't be able to take more than a single telling blow at this point. Whether Tetsuko pressed her advantage to strike at Arisu and suffered the full blast of darkfire as a result, or if she diverted to avoid it and closed with her without further Antipyre exposure, when the girl went for her wicked clothesline, Arisu didn't back up. She didn't block, she didn't duck, she didn't dodge. She leapt forward. Rather than let Tetsuko use the leverage that swinging her heavy, weighted arm at her would allow, Arisu lunged inside her guard. In treating Arisu as a caster, so to speak, Tetsuko seemed to have forgotten the telltale signs she'd given earlier- a boxer's guard, a clear understanding of relative range and reach. Firewall wasn't a ranged combatant- she was a brawler, and the closer her opponents got, the easier it was to drown them in flames. Arisu's attack was simple- she threw her arms around the other girl, lunging low in an attempt to throw herself forward beneath the painful swing of that ironclad arm, and tightened her grip. In boxing, this would be an illegal clinch, but this wasn't boxing, and she didn't need a chance to throw a punch. The moment she made contact and threw her arms around the aggressive Tetsuko- barring some particularly unfortunate occurence preventing her attempt from succeeding- she exploded in an absolute inferno of black fire, surrounding the other girl in the swirling chill of Antipyre's exhausting flames!!! She didn't know if her earlier attacks had been particularly effective through the samurai-styled heroine's armor. She didn't know if she could drain enough energy from the girl to leave her unconscious. Tetsuko had been going what felt like full bore for a little while now, and with the girl's own actions cutting into her ability to endure Firewall's flames, she hoped it might be enough to seal the deal and shut the girl down entirely- but it was just that, a hope. She didn't even know if she could drain power quick enough to KO Tetsuko before she used her obviously superior close-quarters combat skills to just lay her out. But she knew that Tetsuko would probably be left showing very, very clear signs of her efforts here today, even if she got taken out. And she knew it'd look absolutely incredible to the crowd. The only way Tetsuko was going to get Arisu to stop was to knock her out at this point, presuming she got a grip on the other girl by taking advantage of easy-to-read nature of a clothesline-style swing. Otherwise, she was going to be surrounded by dark flames until she DID KO the red-clad heroine- or until she passed out herself. -Calls out to Akio, agreeing to provide cover fire if he keeps Tetsuko off of him --(a calculated misdirection! huehueheu) -dodges the first couple kunai by throwing herself backwards and to the side, crossing her arms to protect her chest and face (and to drag her flames back at Tetsuko from behind, attempting to use the somewhat more natural move to block to disguise that maneuver --takes the two other kunai to the hip and thigh IF Tetsuko focuses on tracking her dodge- she'll be on her last leg (literally) and go down with one more solid hit ---If Tetsuko focuses on tracking her dodge, she's almost certainly going to end up taking the full brunt of those flames -the broad swing Tetsuko is attempting to use is easy to see coming --tries to use her superior maneuverability to make up the difference in their speed and drop low, lunge under the swing and grab hold of Tetsuko -if successful, gonna light up like the... opposite of the fourth of july --not gonna stop "burning" Tetsuko's energy until it's out, or Arisu is out! Just when Akio thought everything was going well and he was finally going to inflict some damage onto Tetsuko the blade breaks off before the heat can inflict any kind of damage and Tetsuko is able to sidestep his punch attempt and to make matters worse when she avoided his punch she also jabbed his hand with the broken blade which caused him to falter for a second "Shit!" he cursed as he grasped his wounded wrist, giving Tetsuko the perfect opportunity to throw the broken blade in her hand at him which ended up striking him in the head which cause him to stumble back and trip over with the broken blade cutting his forehead slightly, he looked at his arm and saw that that was bleeding from the wound Tetsuko had inflicted earlier, he saw Tetsuko charge towards Arisu but he could do much right now. He spotted a torn piece of Tetsuko's clothing I can use that as a makeshift bandage! he thought to himself as he scrambled toward the ripped piece of clothing, picked it up and wrapped the fabric around the wound on his wrist and pulled it tight to apply pressure to the wound, he then scrambled towards another piece and did the same thing to his forehead. When he turned back to see how Arisu was doing he saw her managing well against the swordswoman so he decided to take this moment to rest and watch Tetsuko's movements waiting for a potential opening, that's when he saw Arisu tackle Tetsuko and explode into an inferno of black flames M-Maybe I should wait and see how this plays out before helping Arisu out Akio thought to himself as he intently watched the black inferno blazing in front of him, waiting to see who would emerge from it
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -Is stabbed by the broken sword Tetsuko jabbed him with -Is struck by the blade Tetsuko threw at him, causing him to stumble and trip -Spots pieces of Tetsuko's ripped haori and uses it as a makeshift bandage on his wrist and forehead -Turns to see Arisu explode in a inferno of black flames -Decides to see how that plays out before making his next move
Tetsuko managed to free herself from any hindrance Akio might pose, her broken blade leaving him bleeding and left behind while she took off for Arisu. The girl's Quirk was a formidable one, and Tetsuko had quickly learned that given its effects and the level of control Arisu possessed, leaving her to freely attack in a 2-on-1 scenario was a poor, poor decision. Fortunately, Tetsuko had time to rectify her prior actions, which she very much intended to do. So long as she could keep Akio off her back, Tetsuko had faith in her abilities with blade and shuriken to dispatch Arisu before letting her drain the swordswoman dry. What's more, Tetsuko didn't count on Arisu expending too much of her energy just to deal with her. After all, this wasn't a 2v1 by design, and if Arisu burned herself out she'd leave nothing with which to challenge Akio. This assumption would be eventually challenged, however. Knowing that Arisu wasn't going to just let Tetsuko rush her down, Tetsuko had relied on one of her newer skills to keep the pyromancer busy. The ironblooded girl spared little thought to defense, knowing by now that her best choice was to exploit their lack in damaging capabilities by cutting through what minimal defenses Arisu had. As such, she made sure to track the girl's movements with each thrown bo shuriken. Two hit their marks, hip and thigh. Debilitated movement, good. Once Tetsuko closed the gap, it was just a matter of swift execution. Her 'stinger' would do the trick just fine. However, Tetsuko hadn't let Arisu's hand movements go unnoticed, the way she conducted her flames briefly spurring the possibility of her backward movement pulling an attack towards Tetsuko's back... In spite of this, the Shindou swordswoman made no attempt to avoid or block those flames. She was catching on now, realizing how to handle someone with as unique a Quirk as Arisu. Someone who could slowly starve a person's innermost flames, would need to have hers quickly snuffed out. Flames cascaded past her, Tetsuko fending some off by holding her armored arm back, but nonetheless feeling the brunt of the exhaustive capabilities. Her breathing, normally so steady and firm, started to show signs of wavering, of using her own stamina more than she would have at this stage otherwise. Her normally impressive staying power was being shaved down efficiently and effectively. "You're quite the pain..."Undeterred in her vicious pursuit, Tetsuko would close the gap between her and Arisu quickly, thanks to her beeline approach. It was once Arisu was in close-range that the proud swordswoman unleashed a mighty haymaker. One might have thought it a rather odd technique for Tetsuko to use. And it was, though its oddness was her intent. Tetsuko's frame wasn't nearly bulky enough to justify such a reckless move, because that wasn't her intended finisher. As the Shindou girl had presumed, Arisu was most likely to use her flame's propulsion, as she'd shown before, to avoid such a telegraphed attack. Even if the message was purposefully relayed. Arisu had three options at first. Going up was made less likely the moment her leg was wounded, so by the time Tetsuko was swinging her arm, throwing all her momentum forward... She knew Arisu was either going to go under or backward. The former was what the other girl ended up choosing. Yet, not as Tetsuko had expected. Though iron was already flowing out the palm of her other hand in preparation for a follow-up, and her momentum had already shifted her into a readied stance, Tetsuko had not been anticipating Arisu abandoning her usual strategy, and outright grabbing the Shindou girl! Respectable choice...Just as Arisu burst into black flames, Tetsuko realised what the girl was doing, the weight of such a decision. Arisu knew that to defeat Tetsuko was to abandon victory, after all. For even if Arisu had the ability to take out the swordswoman, it would leave her defenceless against Akio. Truthfully, there was little doubt in Tetsuko's mind that Arisu had chosen honor and glory over victory. To pit her all against Tetsuko, and shine brightly as she did. For the brief time Tetsuko was consumed in those flames, Arisu would do just that. However, Tetsuko was already poised to strike. As she felt her entire body drained at a rapid pace, Tetsuko was already acting to elminate the threat to her own glory. As soon as Arisu grabbed Tetsuko in that tackle, Tetsuko brought down her iron-clad arm on the girl's back, while also raising up her knee in violent combination strike, as a thick, blunt, knife-like blade burst from her knee and right into Arisu's solar plexus as Tetsuko thrust it upwards. "SUZUMEBACHI!"
雀蜂 (Hornet)
The combination of the force on her back driving her into a destructive bladed knee would, in all likelihood, be enough to take Arisu out. If it wasn't, Tetsuko would simply strike again with that knee, quick and hard, until the caster had fallen... Assuming Arisu didn't avoid it somehow, Tetsuko would at least be sure to let the girl down to the ground gently after she'd been knocked out... "So... You ended up choosing glory over victory... Not bad at all." Tetsuko mused, smiling lightly. Her body felt drained, like she'd just fought long and hard, even if it was just a few moments of Arisu's black flame. Her 'limit', though not quite there yet, was too close for comfort, considering she still had Akio to deal with. One thing was certain: Arisu has made this much more difficult than Tetsuko had expected it to be. "Firewall... I'll remember it."Once Arisu was on the ground, Tetsuko would turn back to Akio, who had opted to avoid risking being hit by Arisu's flames. The Shindou girl, with the iron that had flowed out of her palm already, shaped another tanto knife in her hand, while the blade from her knee remained, and she motioned Akio forth. "Your teammate gave her all, don't let it go to waste, Akio-san!" Tetsuko uttered, her growing tiredness evident by her mere expression. Of course, in spite of her encouragement, Tetsu had every intention of victory here. Arisu had done well to cut off the possibility of Tetsuko outlasting Akio, a war of attrition off the table... But there was more than one way to cut down a foe. Summary:- Tetsuko continues tracking Arisu, intent on dealing with her quickly and directly! - Notices the possibility of Arisu attacking from behind, but moves forward regardless, taking more of the black flame! - Once she's in range, Tetsuko swings her haymaker, always intending to try and bait a dodge to follow-up, by remaining poised to strike, however... - Didn't expect a tackle! - Tetsuko is grabbed by Arisu, and hit by the blast of black flame! - But Tetsuko doesn't let it last for long at all, following through with her momentum and slamming her iron arm on Arisu's back, pushing it into a bladed knee to her solar plexus! - If this isn't enough to KO her, Tetsuko strikes again until it is! - Assuming Arisu is taken out, Tetsuko sets her down, admitting respect for the girl's actions - Tetsuko was affected by the black flames, noticeably so, and knows outlasting Akio is nowhere near an option now! - However, she isn't deterred and challenges Akio to come at her... words: 1068 • tags: you • notes:
--- ARISU --- - - - It was gratifying- deeply gratifying- to see Tetsuko have to struggle through the wash of chilling black flames to deliver those telling blows, offering some small comfort as Arisu tried her best to evade the flying blades. It didn't work very well- but then, to evade even half of Tetsuko's talented strikes was an achievement, as far as she was concerned. She'd have time to pat herself on the back later- she certainly didn't have any right now. Tetsuko's wickedly effective combination of heavy downward force into the small impact point of the rod of metal driving into her solar plexus did precisely what Tetsuko intended it to. What had just a moment before been a battlefield tormented by twisting black whorls of flame scouring the surface of their arena into spiralling channels of gray ash quieted in an instant. They faded away, revealing a limp Firewall caught in the grasp of her opponent, thumped cleanly unconscious from the doubled, violent impact. Her part in this was done. She'd done everything in her power to buy Akio a chance at taking down Tetsuko- but the rest would be between the two of them. All there was for Arisu just now was dark, quiet calm- and the promise of some horrific bruises when she woke up.
As Akio watched the struggle in front of him unfold he considered stepping in to help, but he knew that at that close of a range with those flames blasting he'd only get in the way, so he waited to see who would be victorious. In the end it was Tetsuko who ended her struggle with a knee to Arisu's abdomen, Akio watched as she laid Arisu gently on the ground and told him not to let Arisu's determination go to waste, he could clearly see that she was exhausted, Arisu had really worn her out Thanks Arisu, I'll try not to let this opportunity slip away he thought to himself. He decided to formulate a plan of attack, looking at Tetsuko he didn't think she could last much longer, on the other hand Akio had energy to spare right now though the pain in his wrist was causing him problems, especially after the moment he took to rest during Arisu and Tetsuko's little scuffle I've just gotta bait her and then try and wear her down, even if I have to take a few hits to do so he thought to himself Now's not the time for hesitation, I've just gotta go in, I've gotta be careful of that knee blade though he thought to himself, he took a deep breath and then charged in, automatically he went on the offensive throwing multiple punches to her head and chest, the goal was to not let her get her attacks off, though during his small barrage of punches he felt a pain in his hand which caused him to falter for a second, he hoped Tetsuko wouldn't be able to take advantage of that
Her limit was approaching, fast. Much faster than she was comfortable with. As Tetsuko faced off against Akio, she remained confident in her superior skills, but worry was festering deep within her at how effectively her prowess would cover this gap in stamina that Arisu had ripped open. As much as the Shindou girl tried to cover up her exhaustion with her steady breathing, even the sustaining techniques of her sword school weren't going to change the fact that she was just about running on empty.Well... If I'm running up against my limit...Wordlessly, Tetsuko assumed a stance with her tanto knife in hand, facing towards Akio. He charged forward, and Tetsuko remained firm. Her movements had to be kept at a minimum, up until the very last moment.Maybe it's better to just leap through it.A flurry of punches came her way, and Tetsuko did her best with her limited stamina to try and parry them away with her knife, but a few found their mark thanks to her tired attempts to deflect them. A strike to her head had her stagger backward, knocking even more of her energy out of her, however, it seemed like she wasn't the only one suffering from the effects of the fight...In the next few swings, Tetsuko saw an opening. As she took one of the punches on her arm, she noticed the pain flare through Akio, likely from her earlier attack to his wrist. In this opportunity, at this moment, she struck.Weaving around to the side of his wounded arm, Tetsuko would drop her knife and tiredly swing her palm right at Akio's chest. A weak attack, or so it would seem at first, as the swordswoman had used what strength was left in her to close the gap to a point-blank distance. Akio had left this opening just in time, as Tetsuko had reached her limit...Now it was time to explode past it."Juuchi Yosamu." 十千夜寒 (10,000 Cold Nights) With that weak utterance, iron blades suddenly burst forth from Tetsuko's arm, the same limb that was pressed against Akio's midsection. As they recklessly tore through Tetsuko's arm, these blades would burst and strike Akio in a point-blank scattergun of blunt swords. It was a final, desperate move that did a fair amount of damage to Tetsuko too, and left her far past her limit. However, the burst of countless swords from this range, all aimed at Akio's body and head... Was sure to make this final attempt worth its pain!
Akio thought that this was going to be a lock now that Tetsuko was so drained, he could visibly see that she was exhausted, fate however had other plans. Akio's barrage attack was working at first and then a jolt of pain ran through his wrist, he'd hoped that Tetsuko wouldn't be able to take advantage of that brief moment of hesitation, how wrong he was though. As he threw the punch that sent a jolt of pain through him, Tetsuko closed the gap between them and weakly swung at his chest, he smirked for a second Alright, this is my chance! Akio thought to himself, he raised his hand to bring it down on Tetsuko but then he felt something slam into his chest and face. His head was knocked backwards and he stumbled back, starting to fall forward, as he fell he noticed that blunt swords were sticking out of Tetsuko's arm, she'd used the last of her strength to make sure he was taken down. Her blow had really taken a lot out of him considering it caused the pain from the earlier blow to his head to flare up, but he didn't want to give up just yet, he couldn't stand so he slowly crawled towards her, desperate to land one more blow, he was really disoriented and could feel his consciousness slipping away, he remembered reaching her foot and then he lost consciousness.
Tetsuko was victorious
