The report club’s festival work had begun long before the school opened its doors to the public. They were, after all, nothing without reports, and a report was nothing if it wasn’t presented effectively. Fortunately, one of the club members had had the brilliant idea of killing two birds with one stone – creating news while having a bit of fun with the passer-by’s. And of course, if it was brilliant, it had to be from Emi. The girl in question was hidden inside the club’s stall, which was much closer to a tent, with its single opening leading into a dark cavern of mystery. Her presence would not be missed, however, for she starred on the TV screen set up just outside it! A video played on repeat
“Youkoso! This is UA’s Report Club, the one stop shop for student news and happenings! Gathering and sending messages are our bread and butter, but not many people get to see what goes into making and breaking the news on campus! So, we decided to not only give you all a taste of what we do, but also give the spotlight to a few lucky students!”
The scene on-screen changed to a graphic of the school tent. “You’ll notice that our stall is a little different from the rest. That’s because we’ve set up a mini-studio inside! For those few brave enough to venture in, we’ll be making promotional videos all about them! Why? Because this festival is all about highlighting our young heroes-to-be, and highlighting is what the report club does best!”
Like an animatic, a chibi student in UA uniform shifts in from stage left. Its body rotates to simulate walking as it enters the virtual stall. “Come into our studio, where one of our lovely reporters will be waiting to make you a star! We’ve got professional cameras, equipment and the know-how to make you shine, and the right channels to let Japan know who you are!” The stall's interior flashed white, with the accompanying stock camera shutter sound suggesting a miniature photoshoot. “Your video will be posted on UA Today and Emi’s Exclusives. It’s a fantastic opportunity to introduce yourself to the world, with a little help from the school’s best content creators! So, what’re you waiting for? Come in, introduce yourself, and take your first step to stardom today!”
Disclaimers zoomed across the bottom of the screen, almost too fast to read. 'The report club reserves the right to take creative liberties with the footage provided and the accompanying voiceover. Participants are wholly responsible for any damage they and their quirk inflict on the club’s equipment and property. The report club is not responsible for any mental or physical trauma inflicted as a result of this activity.'
Those that dared to step inside in spite of that would find the girl from the video, tinkering with a DSLR camera on a tripod. True to her word, the room looked ready for business. The camera was positioned half a dozen feet away from a green screen, which had a pair of inactive lights on stands pointed at it. She was too busy changing the lens to notice the newcomer right away, but given a second, she would look up and see…!Hello! Thanks for taking an interest in my thread. It’s only fair that I mention that my posting speed will be very slow. I’m on holiday at the moment, and won’t return to a place with a computer and stable internet until early March. If that’s fine with you, then feel free to post, and I'll commit to replying whenever I can so we have a finished thread!

| I t was almost time! There was only an hour or two remaining until Angel finally got to fight both against and with her fellow classmates on world wide television! It was almost time for the Angel of Mercy to become known in every house of the world! Angel had spent time working at her club booth, with her family, her friend Sue, her girlfriend Farrah and her family and putting on a showy spar with her classmate Sean! Angel once that was done decided to rest up and take some time to get her thoughts in order,or at least that was the plan until as she walked through the festival and spotted the report club's tent like booth complete with an animated chibi message inviting student in to tell their story on camera. This made Angel smile a big smile. "Time for the Angel of mercy to make her video debut a bit earlier then planned!"Angel deciding that she wanted to make a bit of an entrance began to twirl her Parasol by it's handle with her left hand as she strolled and strutted into the tent to be greeted not only by a professional studio like set up but a familiar beautiful face and pink haired of her favorite newswoman in training Emi Tachibana! Angel slowly strutted up to the young woman as she twirled her parasol until she reached her. She then tapped the end of it on the floor with a smile as if she was one of those elegant nannies from the United Kingdom. "If it isn't my favorite newswoman! I saw your little announcement outside and I must say I am totally interested in getting my face and story out there! Let's introduce the world to "The Angel of mercy"! I'm hoping that my story not only inspires the tiny tots of the world, but also helps bring an end to anti-quirk hate groups. Do I gotta sign anything before we get started!? You can ask me anything you'd like! Anything to help my fellow classmate reach her dreams!"Angel with just a big smile and a playful wink gave Emi a thumbs up. Angel hoped that her ultimate goal of helping bring to light the anti-quirk abuse that students were facing as well as helping inspire less fortunate youths to rise up and be heroes could be reached using Emi's interview. |

Tap tap. Emi’s head perked up, and her eyes found a stranger. A student, judging by her face. Either a mutant or an eccentric costume designer. The wings said one, but the ear cup… things said the other. A curious gaze and a small smile didn’t last long, for her visitor was also a fan! Stroking her ego was the best way to get on her good side, if her newly-formed grin was anything to go by. “Oh, welcome, welcome! Glad to hear that you like my work! I put a lot of love into what I do, but hearing that I’m doing a good job makes it worthwhile!” There was an argument to be made for not measuring one’s success on a good reception, but that was for another time and place. Until then, she had work to do!
And a lot of questions for her visitor, but that was what the interview was for!
“’Angel of Mercy’, huh? Alright, I can work with that. No need to sign, you kinda signed when you walked into the tent!” She wasn’t sure how well that would hold up in court, but if she was lucky, neither would her newest victim. “All you need is yourself, and anything you need to use your quirk! It’d be nice for you to be able to show off what you can do and all. Along the same lines, if you have your hero outfit on campus for the festival, you can bring that too! And please, don’t worry about me!” put her face behind the camera again, turning it on its tripod to face the girl. “I mean, I appreciate you thinking of me, but you should be doing this for yourself, not for my sake. That’s the best way for you to give it your all, right?” At least, that was how it worked in Emi’s mind. The whole ‘selflessness’ thing didn’t really suit her. “I make the most of what I have. That’s how I got this stall in the first place. Help is great, but you’ve got to want to do this for yourself, more than anything else. I'll be fine either way.”
Fingers fiddled with dials and buttons as she adjusted the focus, aperture, zoom, so on and so forth. Years of hard work had taught her how to make almost anybody look good in front of a camera, but there was only so much that could save a lack of conviction or personality. Most people weren’t as used to the camera as she was, knowing that their every move would be recorded and preserved for generations to come. There was a good reason why most of UA’s students steered clear of her antics, and even those that strayed in stumbled on their words, or caught a sudden bout of stage fright.
That wouldn’t do. Her vision demanded strong role models in the making. People that could inspire with their words, sway crowds with a smile or charm with a look. The winged girl sounded confident enough when she was introducing herself, but could she keep it up with the lens trained on her? “Now, just a test – strike a pose for me, would you? We’ll see what the camera thinks of you.”

| A ngel couldn't help but smile as Emi told her that she could work with the name 'Angel of Mercy"! Despite the Angel part not only coming from a shortened part of her first name and a reference to her quirk the code name meant a great deal to Angel due to the fact that she took the name on the day she broke her and her mother free from her slave master of a father's rule. Angel was also glad to know that she didn't need anything other then her equipment and her hero suit if she had it on her. She just grinned and twirled her parasol around her left finger with a huge grin. She then watched as Emi got behind her camera. "Sorry, but my hero suit is currently still getting repaired for the combat events I'm in. I did however bring my personal weapon with me!"As Emi told her that she was fine without help Angel just nodded. Emi always seemed extremely confident when she was on screen or even just behind her camera as she was now and so Angel truly didn't have any reason to doubt the young woman's conviction or intentions! When Emi told her that she would want to see what Angel could do with her quirk Angel's smile quickly but only slightly faltered as she looked around at all of the expensive equipment. Once she looked back Emi while still twirling her parasol around her left index finger she nodded looking only slightly uncertain. "I'm not sure if that's a wise idea. My quirk isn't really what you call indoor friendly. I'll do my best to be careful so I don't hurt any of your nice fancy equipment."When Emi told her to strike a pose because she wanted to see a test if the camera loved her or not Angel quickly gripped the handle of her parasol as she stepped in front of the camera. She the held out her parasol out in front of her horizontally before flipping the second switch on the handle causing the long tip of the hidden rapier to slide out of the now open hole at the end of the closed parasol dome. She then crossed her left foot over her right and held her right hand close to her cheek with her fingers lightly extended before spreading out her soft pink wings as wide as she could giving the camera a gentle smile. This wasn't her normal fighting stance, but for an opening shot as well as a way to show her acrobatic almost ballerina like nature she thought it would do just fine. "How's this Emi? Do I look like a movie star or a model?" |

“No problem. At least you’re honest about it. We don’t need a suit to put on a good show, and we can work around your quirk.” It was either that or put hundreds of thousands of yen worth of equipment at risk for the sake of some added flair. Heidi would never let her live it down if she lost a camera to negligence. “Just hold that pose for a few seconds…” She examined the girl through the lens. The wings moved too naturally to be a prop, which made Angel the first winged student she had met. She was also the first person she had met that had chosen to weaponise a sunshade, but hey, there was a first time for everything. Besides, Emi could respect the novelty of it – it would help the girl stand out from the crowd of students she had to fight for attention.
Her muse had shown no hesitation – almost suspiciously so. Clearly, the girl had practiced her pose, probably in her bedroom in the dead of night, long after Mom and Dad had fallen asleep. Emi knew all about that; the sight of the girl flashed memories of her younger self through her head. A mildly amused smile poked out from under the camera. “Let’s get a light test,” she said, mostly to keep Angel informed. Her hands stayed on the camera, but a spray of white grains fired out of her forearms. As if caught in the wind, they moved symmetrically on both sides of her, rushing towards the locks and buttons controlling the lights and their stands. Clumps of grains combined and solidified against the light switches, pushing each of them on and flooding her muse’s position with light. “Give me a second…” Some of the grains moved for the control panel, dimming the lights until to a more tolerable level. The girl’s eyes darted from the girl and the green screen to the camera a few times before she shook her head.
“High-key lighting. It works best with three light points to balance each other out. Even better with five, but there’s only so much I can do with the school’s budget…” She turned her back to the girl and walked away, moving to the back of the tent. A ‘borrowed’ desk from one of the classrooms hid in the shadows, and atop it, a laptop and a backpack. From the latter she pulled out… A lightsaber? No, a just a light stick. She turned it on with one hand, while more salt crystals grew out of the one wrapped around the base. “Two good reasons to use high-key for you. For one-“ Her free hand gestured to the green screen. “It keeps your shadow on the ground, out of the camera’s sight. Shadows are a bitch to edit out of a green screen, so this saves me a lot of time.”
She returned to the tripod, releasing her hold on the light stick. Gravity should have taken hold of the thing, but with the salt grip at its base, she kept the thing levitating in mid-air. That left her hands free to unscrew the camera from the tripod, taking the former into one hand and using the other to form another construct. Her eyes focused on the pod as she made a jagged replica from her quirk, starting from her hand and growing towards the ground. Moving it a few feet behind the tripod, a final touch joined the salt on the light stick to her makeshift stand.
“And secondly… I think it suits you. It’s best used for a more positive mood, though it’s not very dramatic. Still, I think you’d rather look cheery than theatrical, right?” Her subject didn’t need to know anything about lighting to play her part, of course, but it wasn’t often Emi got a chance to talk about her craft. Sure, everybody saw the finished work, but the years of study? The thought process behind every shot’s composition? That went unnoticed by all but those that knew the art. Her main goal was to promote both her work and her fellow students, but beyond that, she had to make at least a few people realise what went into each and every video.
If the girl hadn’t managed to hold her pose for the minute it took Emi to fix the set (and really, who could blame her if she couldn’t?), she had a moment to prepare herself before- “Camera’s rolling.” She took slow steps around the girl, lowering her knees and raising her arms, while a steady hand kept the lens trained on her. If Angel allowed her, she would be able to create the illusion of the same shot from multiple angles in post-production.
“Perfect.” She returned to the tripod and secured the camera on top of it, saving her the trouble of maintaining a steady shot. “Alright, I’m still recording, but don’t stress it too much. I’ll do plenty of editing before I call it a day, so mistakes are no big deal. Let’s start from the top. I don’t think I got your name, for a start. Or your age, or your class. Give me three- no, four fun facts about yourself, and why you decided to drop into my tent today. We’ll take it from there.”

| A s Angel held her pose as she was asked too by her camera woman she found herself counting her blessings that Emi was willing to work around her quirk so that her precious and expensive equipment! While Angel waited to be told that she could move on from her pose she watched as Emi told her that she was going to do a light test before beginning to mess with the lights in order to find the perfect lightning to show off everything that Angel had to offer! Emi sure did take her job really seriously and honestly it was nice to see! As she held her pose Angel smiled at Emi. "You really know what you're doing Emi! It's super impressive! I have no doubt that you'll end up on the national news station or something once we graduate! It's totally awesome that I get to be one of your first big subjects! Thanks a bunch!"As Emi began to talk about a special type of lighting named high key lighting and how it was good for capturing Angel the winged girl did her best to keep up with the explanation, but if she was completely honest with herself it all kind of went over her head. Angel wasn't stupid by any means when it came to technology, but she wasn't a wiz at it either! If one was to look at her report card they would see a clear pattern that showed that while she did moderatly well to average in the more scholastic subjects she truly excelled in her hero courses that included physical activity! This was due to her hyperactive go getter personality! Not wanting to seem rude to her friend however Angel nodded and smiled. "I won't lie and say I understood all of that, but it sure does sound interesting! You were right when you said that I want to look more cheery than thematic! I wanna give the kiddos who feel shy or embarrassed something sunny and encouraging to watch!"As Emi began to circle her with the camera as it began to roll Angel made sure to keep her pose until Emi got back behind her tri-pod and asked for her name, age, class and four fun facts about her after saying not to stress to much about the camera being on her. Angel just smiled, nodded and flipped the second switch once more on the handle of her parasol to close the tip to hide the tip of the hidden rapier blade before resting it back down on the floor like a cane. She then waved at the camera as if she was in front of a live audience. "Hello guys, gals and non-binary pals! My name is Angelica Surami or just Angel for short! I'm 15 years old and am in class 1-A here at U.A high and i'll be telling you about myself today so you can get an idea what a day in the life of student at the world's first hero school is like!"Angel smiled and flexed her wings so that the "Audience" could see them moving to show that they were in fact real. She then smiled at Emi and the camera and continued to pretend that she was on a stage giving a live interview. "As you can see I have a mutation type quirk which I call Angel wings! My large fluffy pink wings not only allow me to fly and fight bad guys in the air,but I am also able to harden my feathers and them launch them at my foes for long range attacks! That's not all that makes me unique however kiddos. As a side effect of my quirk I was born with a physical disability in the form of being born without ears or ear drums! You are probably wondering if she was born without ears then how can she hear us? Well that is thanks to these sleek silver things that sit where my ears are supposed to be! They are my super fancy dandy hearing aids!"Angel smiled and brushed the hair that covered her right hearing aid away and held that profile shot toward the camera so that Emi could zoom in if she wished before putting her hair back in it's proper place before continuing the interview. "How about I get to telling you some super fun facts about myself! I absolutely love chocolate bars and soda! They are my absolute favorite things to eat,but don't worry parents at home I still eat my veggies and drink my milk! Veggies may seem yucky, but every hero in training needs to take care of themselves if they wanna be able to take care of the world! My favorite activities outside of my hero training include shopping at the mall, dancing to rock music and hanging out with my super awesome and sweet American girlfriend Farrah Di Prima also known as the hero in training Pop Poet!"As Angel thought about the reason she came into the tent to give the interview in the first place her large smile faltered slightly for just a moment before she made herself keep smiling despite the dark reasoning in her mind. "The reason i decided to come speak to you all today is because the world has become a much more scary place. People seem to be getting mad at each other just because someone may look or sound different or may have a quirk while someone else doesn't. I came here to tell all the kiddos at home that no matter how different you look, who you may like, what kind of quirk you might have or even if you don't have one at all that it's okay! Everyone is born special and they should always feel special, wanted and loved no matter what. As a disabled mutant I know what it's like to be given weird looks by people who may not understand or feel like they are better then me because they were born "Normal" and I know how much that can hurt and make you feel yucky on the inside. I'm here to tell all you lovely listeners at home that no matter how you are feelings or how you were born that you are beautiful and that the Angel of Mercy will be watching over you and I promise that I will do my absolute best to bring peace, love and tolerance to this wonderful world of ours."As she gave her little speech Angel couldn't help but imagine that she was speaking directly to her biggot of a father who had tried to not only hurt her mama, but cut off her own wings. She imagined that she was facing him and defying everything he stood for and this image brought a tear to Angel's eye as she smiled. As Angel realized this she quickly wiped it with a smile and waited for Emi to continue the interview questions. |

Emi knew she was good at her job. She had to. If she didn’t tell herself that she was skilled, who could she count on to do it? Having gone without hearing the words leave somebody else’s mouth meant that Angel’s words caught her be surprised. It showed, too, but only for a moment – then her lips curled into a smile. Not the self-assured, larger-than-life one that the world usually saw. No, this one was smaller, and somehow more spontaneous.
And a little more genuine.
It didn’t last long. Not because her mood shifted, but because she had a job to do. Just because she knew how to keep a camera steady and get a good shot didn’t mean that she could do it without focusing. Fortunately, that was all she needed to give her attention to. Her muse took surprisingly well to the camera, much to Emi’s surprise. She was expecting to give a few words of encouragement at best, and having to keep the student from having a breakdown at worst. Not that she was complaining, of course. Consoling wasn’t her strongest suit.
The girl spoke, the camera listened and Emi learned quite a bit. That Angel had no ears, for one. What an odd mutation, especially considering how random it looked seemed next to the wings… But hey, it was no less strange than being able to sweat minerals like she could. On cue, she twisted the camera lens, zooming in on the girl’s earpiece for a few seconds. A bit of editing would make the zoom into a more stylish transition, she thought, but there was nothing to gain from saying it out loud. Angel was on a roll, smoothly transitioning from topic to topic, and Emi wasn’t about to risk breaking her flow.
So she kept quiet. Almost uncharacteristically so, but for good reason. It wasn’t until a few seconds after Angel finished that she spoke up. She agreed with everything the girl had to say, of course – one only had to look to her videos to understand that. It was in her best interests to see the message repeated, especially by a fellow student… But that much had already been done before. Emi’s job was to make the girl’s words stand out, and she couldn’t do that by making her a glorified echo. She had to be challenged… At least a little.
“Alright, I hear what you’re saying. Makes sense to me, but why should the people sitting at home care? The average quirkless guy doesn’t need to be inspired or comforted by this, so why should they listen to you?” She paused, realising that had been a little harsh. Perhaps necessarily so, for them to get a strong message across, but she didn’t want to scare the girl into silence. “You said it yourself. People with quirks tend to get treated roughly by some people that don’t, but can you blame them? It is pretty startling, you know. Having all of these people around you that are so different you can’t ignore it. Some of their differences could even be dangerous, if they wanted them to be. It’s not that surprising that people are worried about that, so why shouldn’t they be? And what are you going to do to put their minds at ease?” ‘Peace and love’ were great in theory, but actions often spoken louder than words. Failing that, a plan of action would suffice.

| A s Emi finally asked her the hard hitting question of why the average Joe watching on the couch should care since they wouldn't be comforted by her words and most importantly why they should care what she had to say. This Angel's smile only faulted slightly as she placed the fingertips of her right hand onto the steel collar that was locked around her neck as she thought back to her childhood and how her father would yank the now broken chain to force her to obey him. Once a moment had passed Angel looked back into the camera as her face went from happy to fiercely confident. "The quirk less people at home should care because them doing so could make them more of a hero then someone with the physical power to move a mountain! Right now humanity is caught in a cycle of fear, hatred and violence that only the actions of the kind can break. As a child,my mother and I were the victims of a horrible man who I am ashamed to say is my father. He used to beat my mother and put the collar and chain around my neck that you see before you. Every night when that horrible tyrant would go to sleep or to one of his anti-quirk rally's I would close my eyes and pray that when i went to school the next morning my teacher or one of my classmates would try and help me when they noticed the bruises or my sad face. That help never came and I ended up having to save not only myself but my mama as well.
You ask me why they should care? I will tell you why and I hope that the one reason is enough. That reason is because next time instead of some winged deaf stranger being abused it could be their quirk less little son, daughter, niece, nephew or grand child. They should care because their kindness could make them that child or adult's hero that they look up to more then the pro heroes that currently walk our streets. Take it from someone who can soar among the birds that the strongest super powers that absolutely anyone can have are kindness, the willingness to step in and give words of encouragement among the screams of hatred."As Emi spoke about the rightful concerns of the quirk less about some of the more dangerous abilities that the quirk having civilians and villains had and asked her what she was planning on doing to ease those concerns Angel decided that now was the best time of any to announce the plans she had for the money that she would make as a Pro hero once she graduated. "I'm glad you asked what I plan on doing about the problems of not only our endangered youth both quirk having and quirk less both the youth who unintentionally bring harm to those around them because they don't know how to control or use their quirks during everyday civilian life. As of today I Angelica Surami am announcing my plan to use the money I make as a pro hero once I graduate to fun a series of youth centers and shelters that not only will focus helping our next generation away from the harmful environments they find themselves in,but also on learning how to refine and nurture their quirks or skills they need to thrive in normal every day life all in an environment that promotes bonding, togetherness and cooperation between those with quirks and those without. The name of this brand new organization shall be called The Oasis! It will be completely run by volunteers to further bridge the gap of separation between the quirkers and the quirkless. Super powers or not we are all must share this world and what better way to start then to give the next generation a place where they can get ready to help shape it?" |

It was a hard question, Emi thought. If Angel hadn't thought of it before, it would have been a tough blow to the girl's confidence... And the director's chance of making a good video. Sure, any flubbed words or bad answers could be erased with a quick cut or fade, but confidence would be a little harder to recover. With that in mind, it was easy to understand why the girl's lack of hesitation was relieving. With only a slight wavering of the smile, she replied. Clearly, the girl had conviction for a reason - she'd thought her words through, and she had actions in mind to back them up. That was the best Emi could ask of a student - heck, it was just about as much as she had been able to do while enrolled. Talking to an audience of thousands was still talking, even if it took hours to craft her message.
If anything, it gave her a greater appreciation for the girl’s words; her growing smile showed as much. The topic wasn’t something to smile about – abuse, parental neglect, the fact that the girl chose to wear a memento of both in her daily life. Much like consoling, sensitive subjects were something the girl lacked experience in. Instead of showing the slightest bit of concern for what may have been a damaged girl, her mind focused on the impact she could make. The hearts she could touch with her words. The views she could bring to her channel.
But mostly the first two. Obviously.
Once again, she kept her thoughts to herself until the girl was done. Her response, without any words, was best observed through her tells. The smile, for one. Her gaze, fixed on the girl (through the camera), had to be a good sign. There wasn’t much for her to do with a stationary camera, besides zoom in on the girl’s face and her chain. For her to keep her eyes trained on the speaker despite that meant that she was either the first heart to be reached, or she was just trying to polite. And Emi wasn’t known for being polite.
A nod marked the end of the speech. “That was good.” A mild understatement, but she could save the bulk of her comments for when the camera’s weren’t listening. “It’s good to see that even a first-year student has big ideas, and the determination to see them through. And that’s after fighting the bad hand life dealt you. It just goes to show that it takes more than a quirk to be a hero, right?”
She chuckled under her breath. “Alright, Angel-chan, I think that’s all we have time for. Thanks again for your introduction! Any last words you’d like to add?” She titled her head out form behind the camera before continuing. “If not, could you spread your wings a little? Not to break anything, of course, but… Make a pose like you’re almost frozen, soaring through the skies. If you can, give your feathers a little ruffle like the wind caught them. I have an idea for later.”

| A ngel couldn't help but giggle and smile happily as Emi praised her ethics, drive and willingness to see her plan through despite only being a first year student. What Angel had gone through with her father did cause her pain she wouldn't deny that, but she also wouldn't deny that those experiences had helped shape her world view for the better and were a major part of her drive to succeed as a future pro-hero and a proponent for the bonding and unification of Quirkers and the Quirk-less so that she could break the cycle of violence and hatred her father tried to stoke and foster. She also sought to prove that just because she had bad things happen to her that it couldn't force her to make bad choices. As Emi told her that the interview was about over and asked for closing remarks as well as for her to stretch out and ruffle her feathers for the camera Angel just smiled and decided to gently one up the idea by stepping back a few steps so that she would stay in frame before gently hopping in place once, spreading her wings out so that they would keep her aloft and then flexed them so that her feathers shook as requested. Angel then just grinned at the camera happily and opened up the dome of her parasol and rested it over her left shoulder. She was going to give the people at home closing words that they wouldn't soon forget. This whole being interviewed thing was kind of fun! "It's been nice getting to meet all of you! I want all you kiddos at home to remember to stay in school, study hard, eat healthy, but most of all I want you all to remember two very important things! The first is even if you don't have a quirk you can be someone's personal hero just by being their for them and striving to do what's right and true! The second is that no matter how dark the world may seem to get the Angel of Mercy will always be watching over you ready to shine a little light and keep you safe! I hope you all enjoy the sports festival and I'll see you next time!"Angel smiled for the camera and gave a little ride handed wave as if she was saying goodbye to a crowd of children who had been watching her from a studio audience like she was a children's television personality. Once a few minutes had passed Angel landed back down onto the ground and closed her parasol and walked toward Emi excitedly. "So what do you think!? How did I do!?" |

Once again, the girl went above and beyond for her. As Angel hopped up, Emi used the tripod’s pan-handle to tilt the camera upwards, just a little. Getting a shot of the girl’s wings might not have made sense in the moment (which made it all the more surprising that it went unquestioned), but with a bit of editing and the green screen behind her, the background could be switched out for a blue sky with clouds zooming past. In other words, she could create the rough illusion of flight, even if they didn’t have the time or resources to film in the sky.
Angel gave her parting words, still going for the inspirational angle. As if she had done it a thousand times before, Emi chimed in with her own message. “That’s all for now, but I’m sure this won’t be the last you hear of the Angel of Mercy! Make sure you check out the other videos on UA students, and show Angel-chan some love in the comments below! Until next time, stay super! …Aaaand scene.” One final press of a button ended the recording, and a flick of the wrist pressed her salt crystals against the lights’ buttons, turning them both off. For a moment, she was silent, staring at the girl. It didn’t take long for her to decide she’d done enough teasing, and her grin came out in full force.
“I’ll be honest. That went way better than I was expecting. Where were you three months ago?” She slotted the camera out of the tripod, placing it beside the laptop on the desk in the back. “For ages, I’ve been struggling to get volunteers for my projects, and they barely ever came until now. And you knocked it out of the park, so that’s two reasons to be happy!” She offered the girl a thumbs up. “So, yeah, I think you were superb. If you can keep that up, I doubt you’ll have any trouble with the media, now or when you graduate.”
She lifted the lid on the laptop, letting it power up while she continued. “Of course, if I put that video up, people are going to hold you to your promises. ‘The Oasis’ and all that. The internet never forgets, and if the people on it don’t like you, for whatever reason, they’ll find everything they can use to drag you down. Take it from me – or just check the uTube comments on a bad day.” She shrugged. “I’m sure you’ll work on the idea, but it’s only right for me to let you know anyway. On the other hand, sharing your idea means that other people that agree with you might get in touch. Try to offer their support in whatever way they can. So stay hopeful for that. And of course, when you finally open the doors for business, you can count on your pal Emi to document the whole thing.” With a cheeky wink, she connected the camera to her laptop, prompting it to start uploading the footage. It’d take some time to make a video out of it – more time than she had while the festival was on, but HD videos always took a while, and was best done during idle time. “But that’s everything I asked for, and then some. I’ve got to thank you again for popping in. You really did me a solid, but don’t worry – I’ll return the favour once it goes up. So, er, thanks!”
