Goro’s heart finally stopped hammering straight out of his chest, and his grip on the tablet slowly loosened. He slowly turned to look back at the girl next to him, and tried to swallow his panic. Showing weakness here was the last thing he wanted to do.
“Y-yeah. Did they not secure the gun properly? What k-kind of safety standards do they have here?” His voice came out shakier and louder than he’d intended, and he cursed himself internally. Why can’t he just calm down? What the fuck is wrong with him? A couple people in the crowd turned to stare at him thanks to his brief outburst and he almost screamed.
Thankfully, the tour guide quickly ushered the crowd over to the next room, and the bat’s freak-out was seemingly forgotten. They were led outside, to a field containing a couple different models of tanks. Tanks Goro hadn’t seen before. The unpleasantness from earlier completely forgotten, he immediately sprang forward and pushed his way to the front of the crowd, only remembering the girl with him after the fact.
A couple others in the crowd complained as he pushed past them, but all Goro could hear now was the tour guide. His expression went unchanged but there was a sparkle in his eyes now as his fingers flew over the keyboard of his tablet, taking note of everything the tour guide said. The guide himself obviously didn’t understand some of the technical aspects, but he wasn’t making any mistakes, just reading off a script he obviously didn’t write. Goro didn’t care about that, though. He was totally absorbed in trying to break down the technological advancements mentally, and what they could potentially be used for in other applications.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Rowan was surprised how the stranger well sort of lost it? He seemed so neutral and natural in his behaviour, so static? Was that the right word and it looked very much like... she did not know, not the behaviour at least, the previous mistake of thinking he was someone else was already far away in her mind. But that he did not whisper and seemed to stutter on the words was something she did not comprehend at the beginning, until she simply glared at the people that glared at him. Did they never had a bad experience with anything, because that was highly possible, especially if people came from other countries. Rowan felt furious but she did not exactly know why. Actually, it was part of her Burning Lady mindset, something Rowan did not remember was the bad experiences she had with people looking at her as a child or yelling or actually avoiding touching her hands simply and only because of her quirk.
Apparently, the tour guide felt offended or that he was indeed an idiot because he ushered the crowd over to the next step and Rowan looked shortly at the stranger, but it was fine now, so it seemed. He made his way through the front row of the crowd and she managed to quickly follow. She did not even know why she did that, because they did not know each other and it wasn't to say that she was now very interested in the tanks. Albeit she did not think she could do anything against it with her quirk and that was at this point, all that she was interested in. Not per se from that point of view but she wondered how other quirks might handle a tank, it was a good thing that they had something so powerful, that's how she saw it. She looked shortly at Goro, still without knowing his name, and noticed he seemed to be very interested.
As someone complained loudly that it was not fair that they now stood in the front row, Rowan loudly complained: "Well you did it before, now it is somebody else's turn." With a snide remark and the pride look in her eyes, the person next to her shut up. Besides, why complain when you can see it, she wasn't tall, didn't wear her heels and you could look around the guy next to her. She had not felt like this in days and she still did not feel she had the right to make such a remark but she would not sit and let people say bullshit even if she did not feel right. |

It took quite a while for what the girl said to reach Goro’s brain. Was she… defending him? No, they’d only just met, why would she give a shit about him? No, she probably just can’t stand idiots complaining about inane shit, which was a sentiment Goro appreciated. The tour guide was just explaining tank facts he was well aware of at the moment, so his attention being diverted wasn’t that bad.
While the girl was short and didn’t impact anyone’s view of the tanks very badly, Goro was much taller than average and had spread his wings in his excitement, almost forming a barrier between the tanks and anyone unfortunate enough to be pushed behind him. Now suddenly aware of the crowd’s discontent, he quickly shut his wings against his back and turned to confront the same man that the girl had shot back at.
“If you want to see the tanks so badly, you shouldn’t have been so slow to get here. Obviously, someone with greater interest than you would end up in front of you if you don’t care enough to keep your position.” That’s right, it wasn’t Goro’s fault that he was obstructing this man’s view. Goro adjusted his glasses with his middle finger, deliberately folding the other fingers almost trying to provoke the other.
Rowan backing him up may have made Goro a little overconfident, and the complaining man had clearly noticed Goro flipping him off, and was all but ready to start a fight. The tour guide, however, hadn’t yet noticed the argument happening.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Rowan tried to calm down about this stupid issue, her vanity or arrogance or whatever you wanted to call it; she called it The Burning Lady, was getting out of hand. She had made a snide remark about absolutely no issue but she couldn't help it if people showed up whiny about nothing. While she had been whiny the last couple of days. That's definitely what was going on with her, she was surely being pathetic but at this point, there was nothing to be done about it and just saying that someone had to shut up made nothing better either.
When she flipped her loose hair behind her ear, she looked up at the young man next to her who spoke to the whiny one. She couldn't help but grin a bit as she tried to hide that but it was funny to see, especially because well the whiny guy was already surprised by her attitude. Suddenly she felt a buzzing and looked at her hand, she was still holding her phone and it seemed that her mum was calling! She looked left and right, "I am sorry, I have to go." She whispered to the stranger, he seemed to be rather interested in the tanks, and she wasn't, she didn't understand a single thing from it. "Bye." She couldn't help but say a bit awkward as she disappeared in the small crowd to walk out of it and she almost felt childish enough to step on the guy's toes next to her but she did not. She did not want him to whine again. That would be like a disaster to her ears. So she managed to get out of the crowd and find her way back to where she had bought the horrible coffee, now that no one was waiting here, she could easily talk to her mother. |

Before Goro could even turn away from the whiny bastard in the crowd next to him, the girl’s phone started buzzing. She hadn’t set it to silent for the tour? At least it wasn’t actually ringing, just vibrating, but that was surprisingly inconsiderate of her, considering everything else she’d done so far suggested someone who would care far more about things like that.
As she slipped away through the crowd, Goro didn’t bother to say goodbye back. They probably wouldn’t run into each other ever again, at least he’d prefer they didn’t. At the same time, it was a shame he’d never get the chance to follow up on their conversation from earlier. Perhaps, maybe, it wouldn’t be so bad seeing her one more time, but that would be it.
Seeing her against the crowd reminded Goro once more that the girl was definitely a high school student. Maybe she went to UA? Maybe she knew Nick. If she did, was that why she’d looked at him so oddly to begin with? He was sick and tired of being mistaken for his failure of a brother, but apparently the resemblance is so uncanny that he can’t blame someone who’d had to put up with Nick briefly making that mistake, no matter how aggravating it was.
At the very least, the girl’s absence meant Goro no longer had to focus on anything besides the tour. She was no longer distracting him from why he was there, so why did part of him wish she hadn’t left?
