| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She had no idea how long she had been walking around here yesterday, it felt like she had done a lot of things already and at this point, she just decided that after the shooting range in the morning, she would just take her time and decide what she would actually like and suspect from her future. At this point, she had no idea, she had joined the hero school only to make better decisions in her life. To let the evil side of herself, which she called the Burning Lady to subdue and no longer influence her track of thoughts.
Rowan was wondering what was actually suspected from her, by herself, by U.A. by the other students, so many people that had a possible influence on her and she wrapped her arms around her middle to hold her. There wasn't much answers yet, she felt like she was more a damsel in distress than a real hero already even if she was a student, there was nothing she could actually be proud of yet. No one she saved, she stood up to someone's grandfather but only out of her own annoyance.
She brushed a long lock of hair out of her face and took a sip of the water bottle that she had brought along. She was sitting on a sort of picnic table around the corner of the rescue compound. She wanted to do another mission but at this point had not decided which one and if she dared to do that alone. The last time they had said she needed a partner and Miku had showed up out of the blue, which was wonderful but right now, it was better to sit here and take it easy. She took a deep breath and twirled the hair lock that she had brushed away mere seconds ago, around her left index finger and being lost in thoughts. Some heroes would work alone, perhaps it was better if she got used to that idea instead of actually being left out of everything. Which would give her a pathetic performance. She placed the water bottle back on the bench with her right hand and stared at her hand palm, how many people would be happy about an exploding quirk? |

Here's someone who really didn't like exploding quirks. Maximillian Tychus fucking Kane. With a terrible history when it comes to explosions, one would guess that he'd never want to talk to Rowan again after, later the day that they first met, he looked over the quirks of the other students and found out that she created explosions as well as the yellow lesbo monster. It didn't feel nice, no. To know that he had interacted with someone who could put him through what Jasmine put him through was not really a pleasant thought, though he also knew that it wasn't her fault.
It's not anyone's fault for the quirk that they have. Unable and unwilling to judge her for something as petty as that, he decided that, while he stayed at the military camp, he'd try to at least find Rowan. To interact with her in a better setting than a cold elevator, to talk to her, to get to know her. People are vastly different whenever they aren't in danger, after all. Minutes turned to a few hours of wandering around, occasionally being lost with some of the glorious machinery he would find on the way, he found Rowan. Not talking to others, not being popular and surrounded by people as he thought she would.
She was alone. Sat in solitude, hugging herself. Not a soul dared look her way, for any reason. "You givin' me some real fuckin bad dejá vu, love." Maximillian said in his cheery, friendly tone, desiring to at least get her to snap out of that possibly sad trance, deciding to sit down besides her, his cold being countered by her natural heat. It was nice, to know that your very presence isn't an active detriment to others. Even better today: it was sunny, which meant he'd be absorbing heat not from her directly. Also it meant he wasn't going to die from standing still. "What's on your mind?" The boy calmly asked, curling his knees up to his chest as he always did, laying the right side of his face upon his legs. Those golden, sharp eyes that stared directly at her, keeping eye contact while they talked.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ It wasn't cold outside, she had not even noticed that her posture would come off as if she was cold. The thing was that she was fretting too much about things that were absolutely not necessary at this point but it had been going on for a couple of days, that she simply gave up to worry about it. Rowan Sakamoto would become a worrier and it would give her wrinkles and grey hair too soon. Which actually did freak out when she thought about that, she was only seventeen, when would it happen? Would she still be pretty? She stopped frowning as that was a bad thing, she shook her head and sat up straight but still having her eyes fixated on the table in front of her, not even realizing someone was looking for her and in the end finding her.
Most people ignored her, which worked wonders if you had a resting bitch face, so not many dared to talk to her. She had tried her first day off school, two hours in front of the mirror, to fix that but had given up. She had just a neutral expression and the dark eyebrows didn't help with that. She looked up surprised at Maxi but calmed down a little as soon as she noticed who it was, rolling her eyes as he called her love and let go of her own sides. "I was lost in thoughts, I am not cold." Which she never really had a problem with, being cold, that was a new experience when she was helping Maxi, if you could call it that in that particular elevator. She did not want to be mean against him so she turned her golden eyes at his own. "I was just wondering if I do belong here." Considering the rescue mission yesterday and the boxing training, nothing felt very fitting. She leaned with her elbow on the table and with her cheek on the hand so she could stare back at the boy next to her. "I feel more like a damsel in distress than actually being able to become a hero thanks to U.A. to be fair. It is a future thing but I feel so clumsy and... spoiled." Which was weird to admit and she had no idea why she admit it to Maxi of everyone around. Perhaps it was because she seemed to understand Maxi better after their encounter instead of trying to show off someone she wasn't. |

Ah, the classical old problem of not feeling like you belong. So many times had Maximillian suffered these thoughts. So many times did he suffer them this very moment. The humiliations he faced one after another took their toll on his mind, more than what any normal person like him was ever expected to take. From his backgrounds of not ever facing any significant strife, it'd take someone of tremendously strong will to survive and make it this far.
He didn't have any of that.
Just as an example of how lazy and disconnected he could really be, one would need a book divided into five volumes just for the damn introduction. As some examples, he once tried Karate and gave up after two months when he realized he'd never use his quirk. He joined the track and field club back home, but gave up once he realized that they ran outside. Once before, he tried to play a MMO and gave up in thirty minutes once the grind became boring. He once gave up on waking up early the very first day where he slept through his classes and, god forbid, he gave up on the very own testimony against the burglar that attacked his home. Indeed, he had grown so bored with everything that he didn't even feel any grudge against the villain and just chose to stay out of it.
With these events, those being just a fraction of the extension of his lazyness, lack of motivation and actual aloof nature, he never could rationalize just how he continued to endure through the suffered boredom and humiliation he did at this very school. All his hardships, nights spent with eyes open while screaming his lungs out after having a panic attack mid-sleep, days spent wallowing in the shame and self doubt, he had always refused to quit U.A, only even nearing that breaking point once.
"Y'know, none of us do. None of us are true heroes like the people wish we were." He said, simply laying back on the grass, yawning while relaxing: he felt like taking a nap there and then, without even finishing his thought. Ah, those amazing urges that he had to put aside for now. "At least, not for now. All of us lack something. You lack confidence in yourself. Others, for example.. Rin lacks the boldness and strength of spirit to stand up for herself. Jasmine lacks the compassion of a normal person. I lack the desire to truly help, instead choosing to chase after personal fame...
We all lack something a true hero should have, hence no one deserves to be here.
Though, if you think about it, a human's knowledge only goes as far as his own experience. Maybe this school is for us to learn to becomes people that really belong here." Jesus christ, too much philosophy for the next few weeks. Yawning once again, he looked up into the skies above, letting the clouds fly right past. The cold boy's legs stretched out to really enjoy the softness of the floor. His back shuffled a little to really settle his spine upon the ground, his hands holding his head up, serving as his pillows. "What do I know, though. I'm just your average idiot." He chuckled a little to himself, closing his eyes and deciding to nap right there, just in case Rowan wouldn't say another word to him after, instead of reassuring her that she did belong, saying instead that no one did.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ It was actually a surprise to Rowan that she dared to say something so personal to Maxi, she did not know what it was, perhaps the vulnerability that he had shown himself on the previous day they met. Apart from the classes where they met, where she did not understand him and would not even try to catch his eye as that was not something she wanted. She had been very embarrassed on the first day that she saw him with Levi, that water day had made her want to stay as far away from Maxi as possible but Levi wasn't here at the moment and besides that, Rowan wasn't doing anything wrong by talking to Maxi.
She was ready to defend herself for a stupid argument with that she was good and didn't need to think so bad about her but she closed her mouth and stared at Maxi in surprise, he said the exact opposite of what most people would say in a reassurance speech. Funny to say though, it worked fine for Rowan. She made a sound considering like hmpf but still listened to Maxi as he went on. She did not like to listen about Rin, the class president seemed to be perfect and Rowan hated Rin only for that, it was good to know that she lacked boldness and thus wasn't so perfect to be here as well. "Well I am still not entirely sure what U.A. is trying to reach, they send us to a military base as if that's easy to get rid of us and the difficulty of teaching Quirk users" She couldn't help but say sarcastic, she had not felt that their teacher was a happy idea for most of her classmates. She had not entirely formed an opinion yet, she tried to not even do that, for it was easier to just be there and leave and fix her homework and get better.
She stood up from the bench and went to sit on the grass next to Maxi, giving a short chuckle as he called himself your average idiot, "You have a quirk though, at this point you are still special." Though more children got quirks and the like, she wondered if there would be a future where everyone had one. "Thanks tho, Maxi. I will try on." She meant it, actually, she had never the intention to leave as she did not belong anywhere else but that did not matter to say out loud to him. She was simply homesick probably. Her home where everything was a lot easier than what she was doing now. |

To think he'd ever reach a day where a girl would trust him so much she'd share such personal feelings with him. Ask him if he thought it would happen just a year ago and he'd never believe the idiot who would try to convince him otherwise. Up to this point, where he now was around only people with quirks, he lived most of his life with people that weren't quirked and refused to talk to him, or quirked people that didn't want to be like him and refused to talk to him anyway.
The blue haired boy never had a luxury such as hiding his quirk: it's hard to hide the fact your eyes are golden, that your skin is hellishly cold or the very fact that the atmosphere around you is always low and cold. It made him stand out pretty easily, actually and, when you stand out and it isn't for the best reasons, a child must always expect to suffer at the hands of the cruelty of the older children. Without a doubt, Maxi knew: the most cruel of beings were kids.
Teenagehood really was being a blessing of god just for him, in retrospective. Everything came with its difficulties and challenges, though the ones he was being faced with at U.A. was really nothing more than just slight bumps on a road to heaven. So far, the only big wall he had to ever defeat was the golden demon herself, the one he refused to even name internally anymore.
Staring at Rowan's golden eyes themselves, wondering just how crazy it was that there were actually more people than he thought who had golden eyes, eyes just like his own, even if the slits on his ones didn't seem to be shared with Rowan's. Apparently, from what he heard from his dad, it was his grandpa that actually also had a quirk that made his eyesight quite great, which manifested as slits. The explanation he got was that, probably, the visual effects stayed and even affected Maxi, though never giving him that enchanced eyesight. A slight bummer. "I can see what they are reaching. We lack the proper "discipline" of a comic-book hero. Our military veteran principal probably thought it was a good idea of having us all come to this convenient event." To have good insight on everything, Maxi found that all you needed was to keep your mind light and open to everything. To think from multiple perspectives and consider all sorts of possibilities. It was a true irony that he couldn't use that to forgive Jasmine and, by extension, Rin.
"So are you." Maxi replied, considering Rowan to actually be way more special than she might consider. He just found her healthy amount of self doubt and reflection as a good quality everyone needed to improve when it came to a job as dangerous as being a hero. "Always welcome, ma'am." A classical british honorific of someone who considered the girl next to him to be someone of great calliber who deserved equally great respect. Maxi could smell someone of high social standing from miles away and, safe to say, she reeked.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Perhaps she should keep her mouth shut all the time. Mostly the idea that she was telling people about herself was not what she wanted. People did not have to know her, she was not worth it, she needed to be a better version of herself and she couldn't be. Rowan was so tired of the mind game that she was playing with herself and changing who she was to who she ought to be and now she was playing that vulnerable part and that gave a bad taste in her mouth that she did not like at all. She took a deep breath and just see what would happen and she would have to calm down here. She simply stared around her, that made it easier. "I don't want to be disciplined, I want to learn how it works. I mean I know practically how it works but they should be able to teach us so much more." She wasn't sure what else to say but that was true, this is exactly what she believed she talked about with Kanna, no need to be a bloody hero just wanting to know more and proper use her quirk because she did not want to be a villain. Though it sounds awfully like fun... stupid Burning Lady.
She looked away out of embarrassment because she wasn't good with compliments and did not know if she should say thank you or just ignore it and she would not know what else to say, it felt so strange. She was surprised by the way he said ma'am to her and she felt old because of that but it made her laugh, "That's how the maid use..." She stopped her sentence, she had not wanted to say that, "In that television show used to say that." She barely talked fast enough but she also barely watched television so she had no idea how to say this or what to find or makeup, she did not want people to know she was a rich kid, didn't people dislike rich people? |

Who did? No one in this world desired to be disciplined, no one wanted to be punished and forced to do something that they might not agree with at first. Really, only particularly weird people (and him inside the bedroom) liked to be punished and "disciplined", though that was not really here or there. What was he thinking about? Yes, she really didn't want to be disciplined over something she thought she knew how it worked and he could see why, it wasn't something he'd condemn, specially not from her.
From what he knew of her, she was level-headed, quite intelligent, had a powerful quirk related to fire that, to say the least, brought some bad memories back up though nothing severe. To him, she was ripe material to be molded into a true hero.
"I mean, everyone knows how it works in the surface, it's what we see everyday. The itty gritty is something else and they probably just want to teach us that. 'Says in the bible.. we gotta drink our milk before we switch to solid foods." Maximillian explained, trying to be as lighthearted about their inexperience as possible, even letting a small chuckle escape from him, his body instintively stretching itself to have a bone crack or two, always sighing with relief whenever he got a satisfying pop.
And it'd just be like that, they'd lay down for a while and just relax, that was, until Rowan let something slip that apparently, she felt was too much with the speed that she interrupted herself. If she had said it all in one sentence, he'd probably believe her and not bat an eye. The pause, the slight shift in her face from laughing to ever so slightly comfortable told him she was trying to recover from something.. the only thing she'd recover from was the fact that she had a maid? Weird thing to hide, hell, he used to have two back home, before he moved to the new dorm. "I mean, the maids in the TV and the one back home, right? The two maids my parents had back home were always this formal too." He was left to wonder on the real motives behind Rowan's hesitation though, from her humble demeanor, at least, what he perceived to be as humble, she just didn't want to come off as braggy and a show-off by revealing that she has a maid. That's why he revealed he used to have two. Now, if anything, he was the one bragging.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She wasn't sure if she had said her feelings correctly. It was always so difficult when a second voice spoke differently and although The Burning Lady did that, there was something about her right now that was rather dormant and Rowan wondered why. She did not trust her at any given time anyway. She wanted to still show she was being friendly but the idea was so itching if someone wanted to explain your quirk to you, ha, she had been dealing with it for thirteen years, so tell her something she did not know. Perhaps best how to control it with the inner struggle. It seemed that Maxi understood her foremost, that was a good thing, she wondered how much the teacher could explain her the nitty-gritty as he called it. That was okay, and it took everyone getting used to the idea of a hero school or so she would see it herself and she tried to give off the idea of relaxation as he chuckled. It did not work well to dwell on something that was not an issue yet, she was only a first year at U.A. and it would take a couple of years more before she would be off. It just reminded her a bit of Kanna and she got rather curious at this point what her quirk was, she did not dare to ask. However, she wanted to throw caution into the wind and ask Kanna next time they met, which was quite a while ago, sure in class, they saw each other but outside that.
Rowan had to catch herself from the mistake, but it was perhaps too late, her brain took to long to make up. Just tell them, darling, they have to worship Rowan Sakamoto. That's not what she wanted! She couldn't help but play with the little bit of grass that was next to her and try to hide the stupid red blush that came far too often on her cheeks lately than before, she got to here. She froze when Maxi spoke but looked up surprised, he had maids too? Well, she had only said one but that was her own and well Hannah had been gone for a long time now. But that did not matter at this point, "You are not originally from Japan are you?" She decided to ask because of that one word, she at least felt a little relieved that she slipped in front of Maxi and that it was not bad. |

Oh my lord, why was Rowan that offensively adorable? The way she blushed and tried to hide it behind a greatly proud, friendly attitude was broken almost too easily by just him being him, he couldn't even resist her adorable charms that she just showed, likely without even knowing that she did. Honestly, if he didn't have Levi already, he might have just gone after her, really. She had a lot of things he quite admired: pillowy, red and beautiful lips that were simply gloriously beautiful and tantalizing to kiss; her golden, sharp eyes that looked so incredibly similar to his own were striking to say the least, hypnotizing at most. He could look at them for hours.
Yes, she didn't have that "dominant" flair Levi had to the point of basically owning his very being and, while being completely aware of his situation, she had such a stranglehold over his very being that not only did he not struggle against this, he welcomed it whole-heartedly, it was the first time someone loved and wanted him that much! She did have, however, that snark, that genuine emotion and strive to get better. She had burning questions and, while making sure that her own opinions to those questions were heard, she always heard the opposite side.
All in all, he really had come to hold her dear deep within his heart and so, to make sure he showed just how much he liked her and felt comfortable with her, he simply placed his left hand over her hand that picked at the grass, stilling its nervous movement with a firm, calmingly cold hand of his own, his smile showing her the fact that he was very much aware of what he had just done and how happy he was about it. To her question? A simple answer. "Nah. I'm Maximillian Tychus Kane, I'm from Britain. Moved here because I liked heroism and anime, not any complicated reason, really." Maximillian assured her, still laid down quietly upon the grass while gently holding Rowan's hand, holding onto it even if she tried to get it away from him, though still letting go if she kept pressing on. He wouldn't let her go if she was just embarrassed though, if she showed that she was truly not OK and uncomfortable about it, he wouldn't push it at all.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ There was a lot to learn in a society that wasn't made for someone like Rowan, that was different and that made her want to learn and understand and yet stand above it without much difficulty. At this point, Maxi made her no longer the odd one out. Perhaps she still had a bit of a problem with it in general compared to him but she wasn't the only one raised into another society and the rest of the conversation or where she was drifting towards had brought that up too. Her curiosity as she spoke to a lot of different people where not even one looked really Japanese but perhaps in the years of history that had been different in traits than it used to be, now with the quirkers bringing their kids here, it would surely change again even more. She looked in his eyes, trying to find more of that thing that she recognized in him but she had no idea what he was thinking when he looked in her eyes.
In the end, she wanted to ask him something as the conversation had drifted towards that part, so she decided to do so, it would not harm to make assumptions, not always and she had considered if this question would be harmless or not and at this point had decided that it would be. She frowned as he answered, the name sounded strangely familiar, perhaps it was just something said in class. No, actually she was sure that she had not heard that, "Kane?" She couldn't help but repeat, but she looked up from fidgeting with her fingers when he said from Britain, "I am half. My mother is from Britain." She gave a small smile because it made her even less odd than before, she was a bit of a mix and match of a lot and she giggled when he said heroism was one of the reasons why he came here. He took her hand and she let it be, it was surprising, most people were not entirely sure to take her hand as her quirk worked like that. Her hands were never cold, in this case, that would be more or less quickly to think of Maxi with his ice quirk. |

Maximillian barely ever found a question offensive or mean, actually. It was rare the occasion where he wasn't in a mood to answer most questions, even rarer to see him get angry at a question, beause what, it'd imply something? If the question wasn't a direct jab at him, for example, a question like "Are you always this awful at X?" or something, maybe he'd be a bit offended. It also depends on the tone of the question, maybe it was just playful. Maybe the question was just friendly banter between two friends, just like he does with his dad sometimes. It's all a matter of phrase structuring, tone and context, really. Rowan's question just hit him as her wanting to confirm something that, to her, was already fairly obvious to begin with, which Maximillian couldn't blame her for: he barely looked like he belonged in Britain, much less Japan.
Well, these late decades the world has been getting quite mixed, it was actually interesting. Countries were no longer being identified by race and, instead, by their culture that, against what a lot of horrified, though in hindsight, crazy people thought, the culture didn't simply die and dissapear, it instead thrived. Well, thoughts on history aside, he was quite surprised that Rowan actually accepted him as seamlessly as she did, not struggling or trying to twitch away from him, instead just allowing it to happen. Had she come to like him that much too? "Yeah, Kane. Maximillian Tychus Kane. The "Kane" is from my Mother's Parents. My Grandma had Kane in her name and it simply stuck to the family, since her side was the richest. Y'know how families are." Maximillian explained while slightly shrugging, not at all letting go of her hand, actually quite liking just how warm it was even while he held it, a nice and welcome thing that he simply couldn't forget after their time spent at the elevator. Scuttling just a little closer to her, Maximillian went back to looking directly into her eyes while he spoke. "Oh, she is? Nice! I bet you know English too!" He said quite excitedly, wondering if he could speak his native language with Rowan. As fluent as he was in Japanese, it was always so much better to speak in english for him. His schisms, his manner of speech and usual sarcasm always came out better in english.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ There was a whole new perspective opening up for Rowan about something she had not thought possible. It was mostly because they never went to see her grandmother but the name... it was familiar. She only had no idea if it was something she could remember or should remember or what the stories that her grandmother told her all the time. She was first taught in Japanese, her English had not been so well until she really cared about it and that took a couple of months and years before, she had wanted to mostly do nothing in the idea of getting teachings, but right now, she regret not listening to her senile old grandmama, which was a lie, Rowena wasn't senile but Rowan and Rowena were not on one line of story telling and interests.
So she asked or no she repeated Kane more or less without actually making it a good question, she did not ask anything specific about it, she just said it out loud again. The thing was that he picked it up, she did not know what he thought about it as he introduced himself again, which was something she had heard the first time. She nodded as she tried to understand, wasn't her grandmother's name Kane as well before she married to her grandfather? They obviously did not keep their names in the family, else she would not be called Sakamoto. "You ehm.. no never mind. Interesting. I have been twice in England I believe. Grandmama is alone so she likes to stay home, she doesn't like Japan much."
She was a bit taken aback while he looked directly in her eyes and tried to look away, she did figure out that was rude and tried to helplessly look at him. "I do." she was happy that Maxi was so excited about it, it was something. It was nice if people liked her for that, she could build up a bit for a friendship with that. |

Wow, a complete anti-thesis to him, it seemed. While Maximillian had nothing but awful stuff to say about England, be it their vile god damn taste in food and the inability to cook what crappy shit they had come up with in the first place, be it their insufferable egos -- something apparently that deeply rooted in their culture it sometimes even affected him, much to his displeasure --, even be it their shitty weather, the politicians, the constant god damn surveillance, the unfriendly natives, the unfriendly immigrants, the uncaring law enforcement, the cruel children, their equally cruel parents and neglectful teachers.
His life up to his fifteen years of life in Britain had brought him nothing but pure disdain and hatred for the country and the culture, though he usually tempered it with reasoning that it might just be him that didn't like it, while some others might. It was quite possible that the constant lonelyness he felt there was clouding his vision and opinions.
There were times, of course, that his reasoning was completely shut down when he was feeling particularly miserable and emotional.
Even now, considering how different he and Rowan's grandma seemed to be, his mood had gotten much more "doom and gloom", even taking a decent while for the boy to speak in proper words again. His eyes and face spoke for himself, something in Rowan's words had truly made him displeased: those golden and warm eyes had become sharp and unwelcoming, his tanned lips turned to a frown. Slight wrinkles and a twitch on the corner of his mouth every so often showed how much he was straining to not go even further in his anger.
"Guess people really have different tastes. I have NOTHING but disdain for England. That is neither here nor there though.. just, funny to know that there are so many people from England in Japan." Better to say funny than to say "my fucking nightmares have come true", correct? Well, this was so displeasing to him that, even when his face eased up, he no longer reacted to anything else, simply flashing her a little, slightly dishonest smile when she confirmed that she did know how to speak english.
Instead, he chose to just hold her hand a little tighter for physical comfort, lest his emotions take the reins again and cause more destruction.

| ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ The idea that Rowan was so completely different from Maxi was not something that had crossed her mind, it was difficult to grasp when the other didn't say so. The thing was that she understood he disliked England a lot, she had not been there long enough to completely understand that idea and mostly, she would stay indoors with her grandmother. She didn't think much of it, it was mostly the same here in Japan, where her house was away from the cities and she stayed around it actually all the time unless they went shopping or to the airport or one of her father's parties. She suddenly felt so narrow-minded, not in a way that would make her judge others (which she did) but just plain.... stupid?
She fiddled with her hair because Maxi was holding her hand, which made her now very uncomfortable but as she did not want to be rude, she let it be like this and simply looked away for a while as she twirled her hair around her other hand's index finger. "I haven't lived in England." She decided to answer because he seemed to be utterly disgusted by the idea, "My mother moved here and I was born here, we only went there on several holidays for my grandmother." If he was being furious about the idea that her grandmother liked it there, she would not really see the point of it? She was old, she just liked to stay there as she was afraid of flying on her own and perhaps about the whole prospect of Japan, Rowena didn't like quirks, she didn't hate them but she had told Rowan that she did not understand them and had only seen the danger that it formed for her only grandchild and wanted it to be gone. She had meant well, it was not nice to hear but she knew Grandma Rowena had not meant anything bad with it. |
