Yeah, they had to get going, or the guy would get yet another perfect excuse to put them through some of his torture/personal training from hell. She couldn't feel her arms anymore... Even the effort of adjusting the straps on her backpack made her wince and huff, every muscle trembling at the mere effort of moving it around. When she finished, her arms slumped down at her side, too overworked to move over anything unessential. Her face dirty and uniform messy, the gritty look complimented Kanna's willful nature perhaps evem more than she'd care to admit. She took a moment to merely look upwards into those miraculous skies, once more forcing her arms to move just to slick her wet blonde hair behind her and away from her eyes, feeling her breath and heartrate slowly drop to a calmer pace.
These few moments to catch her breath were worth more than any money she'd ever held in her wallet, and the blonde relished them in full; even the cool breeze bringing goosebumps to her wet skin wouldn't make her shiver. She eyed the Colonel ahead like an enemy to beat, like the goal of a really hard game she had every intention to clear. The eyes of a fighter sizing up her foe after one battle, knowing she'd have to fight the next one soon, just not when: "Yeah... He's gonna have it out for us even harder than before...", the blonde agreed, nodding with a more serious look as she considered the implications of this meager victory. They couldn't chop logs forever, eventually their bodies might simply betray them, giving out entirely. In the end it took the gray girl calling out to her by name for Kanna to turn her head her way, a sudden enough motion to gently whip her wet ponytail around. That look in here eyes looked different from both her usual aloofness, and the fighting spirit she'd only just known. A look Kanna really wasn't used to getting, that might have felt like budding camaraderie if she had the emotional insight to interpret it. But she wasn't given a chance to gaze curiously in an attempt to interpret it: "Got that right... Can't wait to see the look on his face when we march out of her with a grin.", with a scoff, the rebellious girl could almost smirk at the prospect of victory, despite knowing they'd have a long way to go before they reached it. That said, she wasn't so clueless as to recognize that feeling; on some level, Risaka might feel like she owed her, to which the blonde simply shook her head, raising her hand in refusal. She had nothing to feel indebted over, "Don't worry, I wasn't really doing it for you - it's not like we're friends or anything - it's just...", her eyes darted off for a moment as she clenched her teeth as a scowl drew on her face, "...Seeing people abuse their authority really pisses me off."
Most of the other girls had already packed up their shit though, and when the Colonel shouted once more, Kanna skipped in place, huffing as she prepared for a few more hours of hasty march, now over shifting, muddy terrain. Keeping her body from cooling down, she nodded towards where the Colonel and all the other girls have left: "You heard the dick, let's hit the road before we lag behind.", a tone of pure defiance, fully aware how they had a long way to go to triumph over the instruction from hell

It was well damn said by her, she was oddly on par with Kanna to how shitty this course was, but complaining too much wasn't Risaka's style, she prefered getting the least attention and work from there, but so far that hasn't gone too well. Maybe letting loose of her anger at some point wouldn't be such a bad idea, considering how hard the Colonel was on their asses, his triggery attitude reminded her alot of those triggered delusional idiots spawned by the naive society. Kanna was certainly not one and that was a big plus from Risaka's point of view, she didn't wanna outright say so, she didn't wanna come off weird, her appearance was weird enough. ''At least you're honest, I don't be wanting people get themselves killed over me... never a good feeling, nor a desired one.'' Risaka stood true to her words, she simply didn't want Kanna endup getting too friendly and make herself take a blow more than it's worth. Sure Kanna herself said she didn't see Risaka as a friend, but would she truly do something like this to whoever taking abuse? Risaka fully knows well how true abuse is like, abuse that goes for both emotions and pain.
She didn't try to think too hard on it, she was certain Kanna was reasonable enough to not act like asudden meatshield, if she does so it would leave Risaka in an situation she can't handle. For now she let Kanna do her thing, and hopefully be able to prove that meathead that he is nothing more than loud words and a gross attitude. Marching once more the rain would not stop, she heard some of the girls complaining and whining, but most were shut down quickly by the Colonel, Risaka was quiet and let the rain continue cooling her down, hear heart was finally beating gently and not making her blood rush with desperation. The large forest now seemed like to turn more and more like a maze, thicker and more dark as the day went on. Risaka wondered when she could be able to eat, but the rain hitting inside of her mouth was delicious, refreshing, and plentyfull enough to make her last much longer. Who knew a shitty weather like this could be more appreciated than a human being, the world sure is an odd place.
''Mmmmh.... the water so pure from above, guess I took ugly weathers for granted...'' Risaka weren't looking at Kanna when speaking, but it was clear it was directed to her, like who else would she even bother speaking to? None of the other girls even had the interesting factors to them, they were a bunch of.... normies. Kanna at least weren't afraid to stand out with her style, which made Risaka question her own hatred to her Quirk's appearance. ''So Kanna, any particular reason you like piercings? Everytime I see them I can only imagine the pain once getting them planted into your skin, same with tattoos.... do you also have tattoos?'' Risaka wanted to know, why someone wanted to show their style, for pride or for attention? Risaka didn't believe Kanna would be someone desiring for attention, maybe because that is how she felt? That was her true self? Risaka's quirk was literally her own self, but not one she chose to have, it made her a bit angry inside to know some people in this world such as her never had a chance to make themselves be simply their own self.
The long march was getting tiresome once more, and with muscles aching from the overload of work certainly made Risaka push herself even more. Looking down at the dirty wet muddy ground made her frown, Kanna earlier planted her body against it, and the thought of such disgusting ground rubbing against her enterity made the gray girl shudder, her attention however got snapped right back up when the loud yelling echoed into the air. ''OKAy sissies! We are already close to the second checkpoint! But don't think this smaller march is a sign of relaxation, FAR FROM IT! So just keep your expectations low as always!'' He at very least got that part right, Risaka never had her hopes high, although she did hope for them to drop their backpacks once getting to the next checkpoint. The constant rubbing from the backpack against her own back made her sore and twitching from minor skin pain. She clenched her hands at the straps to make it not rub so much. ''S-stupid useless backpack....''

Risaka accepted her argument easily enough, thankfully, she didn't really need the girl indebted to her over selflessness she really didn't have: "Yeah, you and me both...", admitted the blonde, pressing forth to chase after the remaining girls, "I can solve my own problems without needing others throwing themselves onto the fire." And when they do that, it's just one more debt for you to pay... Of course, Kanna didn't really mention this last part, though the gray girl could simply look at her - look at the way her eyes drifted off with a hint of unease - and she'd know exactly what thought crossed the blonde's mind. After all, it was exactly the same one she herself had when she thought Kanna had stood up to the Colonel for her sake and nobody else's. Indeed, Kanna knew abuse far too well... From her father to her foster family, to the bullies in school who saw a loner as easy meat. She was never easy meat though, she had that piece of shit dad to thank for that. After bashing her father's head in, everyone else's seemed pretty meaningless. Indeed, Kanna still had her reason to guide her; even in those moments her rage took over, she no longer felt totally blinded by it as she would have years ago. Perhaps she had martial arts to thank for that, or perhaps no one had simply pushed her that far. Not that she had any interest in finding out which... Pushing that thought away, they pressed forth through the wilderness, easily catching up to the girls, with none but the heavy rain to keep them company. Compared to her half dead arms, Kanna immediately appreciated how healthy her legs felt by comparison, proving how even all the marching up until now didn't completely drain her like that woodcutting and those push ups. She could almost say she was ready for another round, if not for loud, aching grumble from her stomach... "Ugh... If only rainwater could sate hunger...", groaned the girl, shoulders slouched, eyes half lidded as one hand reached for her taut, trim midriff. She too wasn't looking at her companion, but at the girls ahead, towards the start of the group... If food would ever come, that's where they'd see it. She scarcely noticed how hungry all that running and chopping had made her until she actually cooled down to resume the march, and before long she'd looked to Risaka just to see how she was doing. That's when the girl's next question caught her attention, "Not really... I just like them; guess you can call it self expression. Yeah it hurts a lot, but you get used to it after the first couple.", shrugging, Kanna shook her head. It kind of made her look different, but that wasn't a real answer... Lots of things made her look different, yet she preferred body art. Of course, nothing quite amused her like Risaka's next question, enough to make Kanna bite back a chortle as she waved her tattooed left hand over her face, clearly flaunting the tattoo in a very recognizable gesture, "Are you blind...?"
Was she making fun of her? The way Kanna looked at her almost implied she at least thought so, giving her a look tinged with sarcasm. Indeed, it wasn't really about craving attention, as she didn't really give a fuck what others thought of her. If Risaka really needed an explanation, then self expression might be the one she wanted... The attention was a side effect, but the blonde had learned to deal with it. "Ugh... Again...", she rolled her eyes once the man's shouting once more reached all the way out back; thinking about his screaming at point blank, shooting spittle all over the place... That thought would annoy her days to come, "I wonder what he's gonna have us do this time, eat grass?" Kanna couldn't help glance at Risaka, half expecting her to have any clues... But how could she, right...? It really felt like an instinctive reaction. As they arrived though, it seemed like his plan had more to do with breaking the parts of their bodies that yet worked: Their legs.

Risaka was pretty ill minded at the moment, she felt everything around her twisted somewhat in an odd pattern. Her mind was clearly overloaded from the sudden stress to her body, and now she had to pay the aftereffect in full blood. It was clear as day, she did indeed have tattoos, the blonde girl showed her hand and still Risaka's eyes was unable to put in the necessary depth, if anything her pupils looked mighty blank, as if she was knocked out cold but moving despite the feeling. She shuck her head even when trying to see percieve the tattoo, it gave Risaka a sick feeling. ''Uh yeah, I didn't notice.'' She turned her attention away and rubbed her eyes desperately, was this the feeling of having absolutely zero energy flowing through your body? She felt the rain, but the cold of it was simply not registering to her mind anymore, what was hot or cold was simply gone from her current state, as if her body was nothing but more than a moving dead body. She gritted her teeth and fists, now walking in a firm pace, but without trying to use her muscles in a sudden motion.
Just moving forward, more and more, one foot after the other, before she knew it she didn't hear anything around her, only mumbling and the many footsteps by the group. She did hear that loud Colonel, inside of her head she didn't react to it's loudness, it was toned down alot and so giving her mind some peace, but she wanted to know what was going on, she even heard Kanna mumbling something, what did she say? Risaka giving a blank stare to the side to watch the blurred image of Kanna and her moving mouth. ''What? Whya re you mumbling? I can't hear you..'' Risaka thought she was speaking, but only having loud thoughts in her head. She sighed out and put her attention forward, where she began to see blurred images of buildings in the distance, she was very much able to at least percieve that kind of stuff. ''Buildings? Looks nice...''
When getting close to the place there was a sneaking rock under the muddy ground, with the rain making it all slippery it would give Risaka's right leg a sudden movement. Her foot slipping slightly to the side was enough for her body to scream with an overreaction. Her right side of the body jolted with a sharp pain that snapped her back into a more concious state, but she widened her eyes and got a small tear from the slip. ''GNNNNGHK!'' She had to halt and bow over to catch her body still, to not make any further sudden movement. ''W.what the fuck... I really need more energy...'' This slip of her happened right when everyone reached the second checkpoint. it had two cabin houses and plenty of small landmarks around with different challenging terrain obstacles.
''HAH-HAAAAA! Alright sissies! We reached the second checkpoint! Frankly this is my favourite part! This is where you do your last push before getting yourself a proper reward! For anyone wondering yes, there are food ready, BUT, you can't have it unless you TRULY need it!'' he stomped forward towards one of the terrain obstacles, it was a tall thick wooden wall with just a few pieces of objects to grab on, looked like the kind of wall even a professional climber would struggle a bit with. ''This wall! This wall will be your greatest enemy! Top over it with whatever you got left in your damn weak body and you will get the food!'' Risaka grunted and rubbed her left ear, yep, she could hear all clear now again, but by the gods, she has never felt this tired before, it was that tiresome that she weren't even able to think about sleeping. She didn't even know how far she walked in a coma state, it honestly frightened her, she has never gotten to that point of stress before, which made her extremely anxious, and her frowning expression clearly told so. her stomach was stinging her, she wanted to throw up, but alas she had nothing in her stomach.

The way she looked at her waving hand spoke for itself. That momentary look of teasing faded from her thoughts quickly enough, warily noticing just how out of it the girl looked. Not that she was doing any better herself. Not even that dull throbbing, or even an aching soreness at even motion, Kanna simply couldn't feel her arms. The water running down them, or the chilly wind against her skin. Whenever she moved them for whatever reason - usually pure instinct - she regretted it immediately after her, as if trying to swing around heavier weights than she'd ever grasped in her life. But Risaka looked far worse off: "You really shoulda noticed before though...", noted Kanna, mostly just trying to get the girl to keep talking, lest she simply pass out along the way. Her stomach growled once more, and would have hastened her step if she yet had the energy for it... She really didn't... At this point, she only hoped whatever awaited at the next checkpoint would include food. As they trudged forth over mudded woodlands, the rain that had so blessed them with hydration had now become their worst enemy as feet sunk heavily into the mud, making each step a strenuous, grueling effort Time passed sluggishly, and quite frankly neither of them had any idea just how early or late it actually was. Every so often, Kanna gazed up at the sky, letting the showers wash over her face as she obeyed the instinct to look up at the sun and tell the time. Only to recieve a fresh reminder of how she wouldn't really see anything. Ugh... She shook her head, trying to shake off the worst of her exhaustion as even her thought process became as dull as her body. Indeed, sudden motions were beyond her at this point, and such was the case when Risaka suddenly cried out: "Whoa there...!", startled, her body jolted as the wide eyed blonde tried to reach out, the wide eyed blonde tried to reach out, but not only her arms, her reflexes failed her as well; as such, the mere attempt at grasping the girl and prevent an eventual fall proved utterly fruitless, "Careful... If you fall down know you might not get up again..." She'd try and seek the girl's gaze, but knew there was no point. One look at Risaka's face fully unveiled how completely out of it she looked, and Kanna could only grit her teeth. At this point, they had only their will to trust, no help could ever come from each other. Merely talking to her as such drained more energy than she had in the tank, Kanna could spare no more for her. It actually took them a good while to realize they'd reached the second point: "Oh... Look at that...", she panted, crouching, leaning in slightly, just enough to get her hands on her knees and catch her breath.
She took every invaluable minute of rest, exploiting those moments the Colonel took to babble on and on, toss around his random insults and unreasonable demands. Bla bla bla, bla bla bla... Kanna no longer had the energy to even care about the guy's shouting, or wince at it. She scarcely processed a single word with a dull, exhausted look on her face, with naught but that fire in her eyes to show she was still alive and kickin. That was, until one single specific word came like music to her ears, sweeter than any siren's song. Grrrrrr... "Food...", her mouth watered, her stomach growling louder than ever before at the simple mention... Finally. They could finally eat lunch/dinner whatever, she didn't really care anymore, all that mattered was to get the meal she needed at long last, "Fucking finally...!" If not for the rain, she'd have surely been drooling by now as a faint smile steadily drew on those panting lips, a different sort of emotion appearing on her face. Kanna had never felt this hungry in her life. At the first signal to begin, Kanna didn't hesitate. She didn't trudge or even walk, but dash with every bit of energy she had left. Actually moving her arms to the first first grappling nook took far more effort than she anticipated though. Her numb arm struggled to move, her weak grip faltered all too easily across the wet surface she should be holding on to. Gritting her teeth, she grabbed hard enough to crush, resting her foot wherever to hoist her body up and climb the first few inches.

Risaka was getting of this idea of him pushing all the girls into another step near the edge, that edge being a total knock out, and with Risaka and Kanna being the more unfortunate ones she bet they both would be those who desired to get over that wall the most. That thirst, the hunger, the motivation to get what you need, the need for the absolute desired prize. She didn't see this as a contest, but Kanna was completely on fire for that triumph. Her courage and raw determination truly put on display, her grab onto the wall only spoke natural instinct, but for survival? Pride? Or simply just pure desperation? Kanna wasn't the kind to show a solid goal at all time, with Risaka's guess she was the kind that did what she just simply had to do, no belief or command was needed to make her do anything necessary. Risaka felt envious of that fact, she never saw someone trying to reach their goal in such great effort, it was in all honesty, admirable.
She clenched her right fist up close to her chest, her history with goals and such was not a pretty sight, most of the time she gave up, she did actions that simply made her avoid what she despised. Now, as she stands, is forced into a situation that she cannot escape, no matter how hard she tries it will bite her on and on. Maybe for Kanna this was her territory, the girl that never stopped, but that only meant Risaka was in a much tighter spot, not because of her physical state, or her hazzy mind, but her actual self, she was the obstacle she could never topple over, so what was this wall to her? A testament of life, this Colonel thinks he got the best of her, but Risaka was more than just her Quirk and threatening look, when she was confronted with something she had no chance in avoiding, it could bring the absolute most out of her. All that marching, all that chopping, all the abuse, all the unknown hatred from people she didn't even know, it was all nothing compared to that trashy wall.
While watching the rest going at the wall, some not even able to lift themselves up, what a shame, they truly wanted the food, that kind of energy that could make them feel better, but that's the thing, it wasn't about the food anymore, nor showing the Colonel how wrong he is, this was her own personal goal, right here and right now. One of the girls had a wing quirk and simply did a powerlifting soar into the air, getting across first. She beamed out happy for the lucky scenario. ''YA-TAAAAA! I'm over!'' She knew that Quirk users could have it easier, but what kind of drawback was there for ahving wings? Risaka was gonna use her quirk, because it was who she was, but also what made it possible for her to even stand here still. The Colonel was grunting from seeing a few girls having it too easy with their quirks, he was about to leash out a brutal one, but noticing Risaka all the way back still he simply raised a brow, but then smirking. ''Heh, guess that girl had too much it seems, as expected from someone as bratty like her.''
Risaka cracked her neck, left to righ, moving her shoulders a bit, letting the extreme fatigue get more adapted to her mindset. ''C'mon now, I only need one good dash... one solid run, that's all I need..!'' She slowly peered forward, eyeing at the tall wall with a pair of ferocious eyes which slowly turned bright topaz shaded. This wall, reminded too much of the one she ran over in a training session with Alex, it ended horribly and was not a pleasent moment, however, it was a great lesson, she saw this as an actual moment of truth, that nothing like a mere wall would stop her.
''This wall is nothing more but than a pebble in a rocky road dammit!'' Her small burst of anger made the Colonel blink confused, staring at her he could see how she bended down, forcing her muscles to obey her rash mindset, touching the green grass around her standing position, she swiftly absorbed green colour which gave a bright hue, smacking her hands against her forelegs she infused them with the colour. Her legs now being green made her as mentally ready she could be, she knew what she had to do, surpass that wall, and continue her life filled with her own decisions, with her own ambition, her very own goal!
''Watch this old man!'' With a powerful stare she gunned down his gaze with her raw raging aura, and just like that she dashed right off, with a speed she never knew she could do. But fatigue could never be ignored completely. One step, a loud sharp electric feeling shot through her right side, two steps, her left side recieving the very same sharpness. But bursting through her pain barrier she did another long speedy step ontop of another, until she was going right at the wall covered by the girls. She didn't know if she could make this smooth, but she saw a potential opening for her to go at, going past the many young female students. If she dared to stop just for one moment it was all over, if she did there would be a limp body on the ground guaranteed. But the adrenaline, she felt like she was literally running away from the pain threshold, as if an embodiment was chasing her. It extremely scary to her, the moment that following was reached her it would instantly knock her out, but it was now or never, she ventured up the wall, sprinting at full gas, each step she did against the wall seemingly glued against it. The girls that got passed by the monochrome gal was caught off guard, and before she knew it she had ran up to the top, where Kanna would likely be at.
She felt her speed boost finally disappeared from her legs, but her entire body was already above the walls height, being midair for a second was enough for her to get a preview taste of the pain. Her eyes widened, her teeth almsot cracking from the force of her biting through the pain, it was enough endurance for her to latch at the top of the wall and drag her right over it. ''IT HURTS SO MUCH!'' Yelling out when falling on the other side she landed with a rough impact, back first and fully stopped, the pain had reached her body, and when it did it simply knocked her out cold, on the ground, succesfully getting over the dreaded wall.

It truly seemed as if these two had more in common than they gave themselves credit for... All of Kanna's pride and resolve to stay true to herself, to follow the path she alone could tread... She'd scarcely forgotten when she first she noticed that side of herself, or perhaps it had been there before she could remember. Like Risaka, she too never had any real goal beyond her independence, beyond doing everything herself with no authority ruling over her. At least, no subservience on her part, no bonds she couldn't sever overnight if she so needed... As she climbed up the wall, she found herself looking at the tattoo on her dominant left hand more often than not, whether she'd like to or not. A compass whose North always pointed ahead of her, reminding her to keep her eyes on the road before her at every time.
Sure, it only actually pointed North if she were to glance at it like one would a watch, but then, that's not really the point, is it...? She certainly didn't think so, for everytime she looked at that compass, Kanna remembered what exactly did it mean to press forward on her path, and it gave her just the strength she needed to remember what she fought for. Unbowed, unbent, unbroken. She'd made it this far... No way she'd let a narrow minded Military officer step all over her! "Ugh.. Hnnnngh... Hah..!", Gritting her teeth and pulling for dear life, she climbed yet another crevice. A mere pebble along one of the most grueling stretches of road she'd have to carve. But to fall here meant bowing before the institution she'd very quickly grown to loathe, and more importantly, it meant forgoing any chance at eating triumphantly. She'd either return home as a loser with her tail between her legs, or go without eating for god knows how long. No way in hell she'd let that happen! The rain would make this grueling task close to impossible, and though she rationally understood this, the instinct to eat and the passion for victory spoke louder than anything, two voices screaming at her from within her deepest recesses, urging her onward. She had to get over that wall, by any means necessary! Fortunately, the rationally minded Kanna could still observe and assess her situation - unblinded by instinct or emotion - and realize success here meant being patient. Just as when her hand slipped free the first time, the same could easily happen at anytime throughout the ascent if she rushed it, and by then she'd have climbed enough to suffer from the fall. Kanna took a deep breath, trying to ignore the low, persistently aching grumble in her tummy, demanding she get over the wall as fast as she could. Instead, she fought the numbness in her arms, slowly moving the trembling limb upwards as she seized hold of the nearest protusion, squeezing for dear life, as hard as he could yet grip and harder still. She fought for each couple centimeters like the grand battle of her life, holding with tooth and nails. As with the chopping block, Kanna never looked down, merely glancing up as she sought the next handgrip.
In their hurry some of the girls wound up falling down and find themselves forced to restart... Other surrendered entirely. Even a few others resorted to using their Quirks, much to the Colonel's chagrin. But it seemed the man still had it out for the two of them, as he uttered no words on the matter. Unfortunately for Kanna, she didn't have any Quirk to help her with this, her ability never did much to help her once a battle was underway... It helped with knowing her enemy, preparing for them, everything... But she never had that luxury here. She could only depend on herself, her battered and bruised, thoroughly exhausted body, and the unrelenting drive to draw out every last drop of energy from it. Step by step, she steadily won her way to the top, but just as a smile began to draw on her lips, she gasped as everything went south: Her hand slipped! All of a sudden she was left dangling one one arm and leg, her own body far too heavy for one arm to hold the whole weight. Before long, she'd feel that grip weakening, fingers threatening to slip away at any moment "Yabee!!", she huffed, wide eyed as she suddenly saw the ground below, the very frightening and probably impossible prospect of starting again after falling back down. Instant defeat. The vision she saw as she looked back down, submission to that man and his so called authority...
Not good... If she fell down now, no way she'd get this high again. Knowing this, she grit her teeth and held on for dear life, pulling her body as close to the wall as humanly possible, yet as the trembling in her arm intensified, even the slightest breeze threatened to knock her to the ground. Though she soon pulled herself close, she couldn't find anywhere for her sluggish arm to grab onto: "How is it ya weakling?! Huh?!", shouted the Colonel, taunting the defiant blonde, sounding all too pleased with himself to finally see confidence shaken... In no small part thanks to her visibly faltering arm strength, "You'll be eating dirt if you don't make it over that wall! You see just how weak you are now?!!" No... This time it was personal. Pushed to the limits of her body, and now to the limits of her will, Kanna had nothing to lose but her pride. In a last ditch effort, she bit into the handhold right in front of her mouth, holding her body close to the wall just long enough for her dislodged hand to find a new perch: "Like hell...! LIKE HELL I AM!!!", her answer came as a shout as she channeled every last bit of energy she could muster. Less than a meter between her and the top, "RAAAAAAAA!!!", and with the loud, bellowing battle cry of a fierce martial artist, psyching herself up, breaking past the binds of her exhaustion, Kanna hoisted herself up, and made one final spurt towards the top of the wall, reaching it just as Risa came flying over her, "Holy shit... Risaka...!" Straddling the wall precariously, Kanna reflexively swept her arm in the path of her falling companion, before she could help herself or realize the futility of her action. Though unable to actually grasp the girl, when Risa bumped into her arm, she easily knocked the blonde off balance, knocking her down right after her before she could realize what happened. "Whaa...!", her wide eyed, surprised interjection was immediately cut off as sharp pain ran through her entire body. The mud had visibly softened the grassy field below, but even then, it hurt like Hell... And then...
Lights out...

Why did she do it all? She was clearly in no shape to be so reckless, it wasn't like her at all, if anything it was quite the opposite. Risaka had triumphed something that did not even live, to many it would seem something silly to get worked, but to Risaka, the stage of mental fight she was in to make her body do the impossible was what made her do the final push. Her body was broken and worn out to the absolute limit, who knew that a girl like Risaka, a gloomy negative mess, could break her very own comfort zone. That zone was smashed, shattered with a fist of her raw anger, not to prove anyone what she was capable of, but more about her constant anxiety pulling her down, she simply had enough, she wanted to just stand up for once and make one great timemark in her history as a mere girl with a weird Quirk. After this incident she surely would look at any wall, metaphorically and literal sense, as no obstacle, not anymore. That short moment when being above the wall, that was the moment she could remember, everything else was gone like in a flash, but remembering she was up there was more than enough satisfaction, it was properly burned deep into her mind and would forever be a moment to recall when in dire times.
How she lost the memories of that impressive dash could've happened from various reasons, one could say it was the lack of oxygen ehr body got and thus not giving her brain the necessary fuel to process it all, or when she smacked hard down at the muddy ground, it was quite the far drop afterall. Risaka rarely been knocked out cold from pure stress, most of the time it was either due to her Quirk's drawback or medicine. Yes, Risaka did do medication, to help her get a rythm to her sleep and not turn into a nocturnal person in a day, because she knows very well how that feels when it happens more than three times a week, impossible to control the damn Quirk. As for her current state, she and Kanna both was brought somewhere safe, being unconcious didn't let them have much of a choice, being left in the rain could easily result high risks for illnesses you normally wouldn't be able to shrug off. Even if Risaka wanted to it'd be a hopeless attempt.
She was in a bed, laying there peacefully and breathing calmly. She had been unconcious ever since she fell, and how long it happened was likely dozen of hours. She woke up from a sudden throb inside of her head, it made her heart and body pulsate into a rate in which forced her nervesystem to spasm her muscles. She gasped and quickly sat up and held her chest while feeling her entire body twitching. Gripping the light grey cloth she wore with a clenched fist she cautiously looked around the room she was in. It was the classic kind of cabin bedrooms, a room with one bunkerbed, she slept on the one below. She took time to explore her bit shaky body. Her head had bandage wrapped around her forehead and upperarms plus shoulders. She couldn't move too much, she was extremely stiff, so stiff that she was clearly in a state that she couldn't bite through. So she overdid herself this much? Asking herself that she sighed out and rubbed around her thighs to check at her cramped muscles. It hurt to touch it, but tolerable.
''So I was knocked out.... I remember getting over... but nothing else, did I pull something miraculous? Nnngh!... Can barely move.... but.'' She took a quick moment to stroke across of her stomach and sides, she felt eased up, the urge to beat the wall was no longer there, the hunger, the thirst, she didn't feel in need for the food she expected as a reward. ''I wonder if they fed me something, somehow....'' Looking down at her hands, both twitched a bit, but with enough focus she forced her hands to clench slowly to stop the twitching. ''Guess the shock in my body was too much for me to handle... I can't remember how much I went through, but it must've been alot.'' She irked at the thought of going through the same process, she despised being in a state of incapability, but then again how else could she ever proceed if she didn't take the extra step? She let her hands go from the clenching, seeing the small twitching not returning made her relieved. She was happy that her body wasn't in a paralytic phase, she have heard stories how people being paralyzed is the most despair feeling one could ever feel.
But as time went on she just sat there and thought alot to herself. It was then she noticed sunlight, sunlight piercing through the window and the curtains. Was it the next day already? Also, who did the bandaging? Quite impressive work, but for whatever reason they also went ahead to wrap around her feet. She could feel the texture of the fabric and pulled her sheets off from her lower body. Her forelegs are entirely covered in bandages, as if those were the most damaged parts. But seeing them wrapped up like that sparked a small moment back into her mind. She remembered the sprint, the race against the embodiment of pain, her legs must've been getting almost destroyed from how far she pushed her quirk's speed boost. She groaned with a small yelp, holding her head when the small memory came back. ''F-fucking insanity, why would I do such thing.... huh, wait, didn't that blondie fall with me....'' She only remembers Kanna being there aswell vaguely, but she didn't remember the part where Risaka's body practically brought Kanna down with her, if she did remember that then Risaka would facepalm, but for now she only got to wonder aimlessly.

That gritty, muddied look of the girl who fought for every inch up that wall, climbing her way with tooth and nail in a bold, blatant display of ferocious willpower... At that moment, she had little attention left to spare for what happened down below, seeing naught but the sights of the other quirk wielding girls past her, all while keeping her eyes on the prize and nowhere else. Objectively, Risaka's display seemed no more surprising than all of the other girls, but ultimately she was also the only one here Kanna actually knew, the only one she felt a shred of interest in... Not even that distracted the blonde from her objective though, now with mind, body and soul joined as one in the quest for higher ground; every fiber of her being determined to push past the literal and metaphorical wall in front of her, higher and higher until her hands seized the priceless victory.
Well, not exactly priceless, but even so it defenitely felt as such.
As she fell down in triumph, a momentary satisfaction took over for only those instants between her reaching the top and hitting the ground, unconscious... And after that...? She could describe it as nothing but a very sweet nap, something she wanted more than anything (save perhaps for food) without even having realized it, not with all the adrenaline pumping through her veins, urging her sluggish body onwards. She knew not how long she'd been unconscious, but found herself in a far more comfortable place, her messed up uniform replaced with a hospital garb.
In this unfamiliar condition, Kanna came to with a dull, aching soreness all throughout her body, one of, if not the outright greatest she'd ever felt throughout her life. Yesterday, she'd beaten the Colonel, proving her strength despite the punishment for her defiance. But at what cost? She could scarcely feel a thing beyond that soreness, any attempted motion in her arms especially came with a weak, unsteady trembling, yet thankfully not as much as she might have expected yesterday... Her back though... That was a whole other story. A sharp pain in her right shoulder caught her off guard enough to make the blonde hiss, despite her enviable pain threshold, vividly reminding her of the fall that knocked her out.
"Fuuuuck...", she groaned achingly, pushing her prone body up in a herculean effort. She really disliked feeling confined to anywhere, even hospital beds, and soon sat up, one hand coming to rest beside her as she looked around and took in her surroundings, all but wincing at the very vivid memory of the cause of her injury, "This is unreal... Didn't expect to get this messed up just from one day. That piece of shit..." Yet despite her lingering rage and visible twitch of her her eyebrow, Kanna didn't really feel a sudden urge to punch things. Even without the soreness, that leftover satisfaction kept her mind at ease, only feeling a certain measure of annoyance at how much she had to mess up her own body just to get through that day. She'd fallen on her back with most of the weight on that shoulder. Lacking the excruciating pain of having broken something, she nonetheless understood she'd most likely dislocated that shoulder and had it reattached. As for where she was, even an idiot could figure that out. The instruction camp's infirmary... If she was here, then probably the girl who fell alongside her couldn't have gone far no? Furrowing her brow, Kanna's eyes of jade scanned the other beds, but soon found more than a few girls laid in separate beds, making it hard to see in which one she might find her. "Did she get off easy...?", she mused, bringing an unsteady hand to her chin, looking intently at the nearest bed, "Maybe her Quirk boosts her toughness too..." Thankfully, the girl answered the question for her, suddenly getting up in far too great a frenzy than her body should allow. Even Kanna wasn't so sudden about it, and she had far less bandages wrapped around her. She couldn't help but knead the painfully sore muscles of her arms and upper back. Despite the pain, that little massage brough a satisfying relief to the sore tension, and the blonde found herself idly indulging in that touch, calmly listening to the girl speak. Indeed, now that she mentioned it, Kanna no longer felt that ravenous emptiness in her stomach, one of the many forces spurring her to leave herself in this sorry state: "Finally awake, huh...", Kanna greeted lazily once she heard her mention a 'blondie', yet not without the faintest hints of a smirk as she properly looked over the bandaged gray girl. She did indeed look far more beat up than herself, which was saying something... And of course, the blunt Kanna wouldn't simply keep it to herself, only slightly astounded by her state, "But wow Risaka, you really look like shit." She could only guess how much extra damage she'd have taken for using her Quirk like that, ontop of all what she'd already taken from the Colonel's torment. Turning her torso to face her, the blonde bent on leg in front of her, taking a moment to apply that same kneading touch to her legs. While sore, she hardly felt anything compared to the stiffness in her arms, so wound up not paying it that much attention. Instead, she sat upon the edge of the bed, letting her legs hang loosely and finally pushing herself off with what few strength her arms yet had: "Now then... I aint gonna laze around in bed all that...", but as those words left her lips and her feet touched the ground, her weakened legs immediately gave way and she lost balance, fumbling as she nearly fell down. Grabbing onto the side of the bed with one hand kept her from falling flat on the ground, barely, leaning forward slightly as her quivering legs struggled to support her weight, "Whoa there...! Guess I ain't as peachy as it felt like."
Well, at least some part of her could be called such, as leaning forward made the loosely tied hospital garb slip out ever to slightly to the sides, revealing a bit too much of her tattooed back and perky behind. She cared little for it though, instead, she had only one thing on her mind as she struggled to acclimate to her weakened legs:
"Fuck, I'd kill for a smoke...", a frustrated, groaning sigh escaped her lips, just wishing she'd have her pack of cigarettes nearby... Wishful thinking really

Risaka quickly lightened her gesture and turned her gaze at Kanna, viewing her rather worn out body had Risaka thinking just how brutal their push was. She looked down, she did not have the same determined ember in her eyes from yesterday, she had gone back to her gloomy self, an attitude that she often viewed as her comfort zone. ''I can say the same back to you..'' But Risaka knew she overdid her body and mind too far, her quirk was useful in clutch moments, but easily backfires once she oversteps her boundaries. Risaka simply lost herself yesterday, and she did not want people to see her in such manners, it could give a very wrong impression to her, but she feared that Kanna had seen too much. ''My damage is not that bad, it was mostly because of the fall, I'm not even hungry anymore.'' She dismissed the topic quickly with a lie, if that lie was obvious or not to Kanna was up to her level of perception. She moved her feet around to feel the stiffness, or rather damage to her muscles. It was very clear and stinging, but not soemthing she'd cry over, but she gasped from the sudden thud noise from Kanna's direction. Turning attention back to Kanna somewhat worried she saw the blondie struggled a bit with standing. It made Risaka grit her teeth, not just because Kanna was in pain, but only imagining just how painfull it would be for her to try stand, Kanna's attempt in a sense was a preview of what Risaka was about to go through.
''Lazing around doesn't mean pushing yourself even more, you should get the rest you need...'' Risaka knew this the most of all, she wanted to rest, maybe for days or even weeks. She had a very careless preference to what her body needed, it was more of a selfish desire ir anything. But the moment she were about to go back to bed a faint image of that ugly Colonel's smirk popped in her mind. It flared her eyes and sat right back up, a bit fast but firmly. ''That's right... so it's his fault, I'll beat his cocky pride down into a pit.'' She cracked her neck, left to right, breathing out gently to concentrate her focus and push her emotions to the side. ''And I need some coffee or else I will snap...'' It wasn't truly just coffee, usually she was always needy of that powerful bitter caffeine, but due to her body being in a constant stinging pain she felt alive and awake no matter what. It made her irritated and motivated her to get off bed.
''Unlike you I have business with that ugly man... can't let him see me in bed.'' She got her legs outside of the bed and pressed her feet down at the wood floor. She felt the muscles tense up when she added pressure to her lowerbody, but slowly but surely she got her entire body into motion, and the moment she got her body up with a straight back she felt a familiar sharp pain, but she was used to it, she managed to hide the pain with her angered expression. ''Mnnngh... unless you wanna show him a thing or two, I will show him a bunch, a bunch of fists to his jaw...'' She didn't know how long she'd bother with the act of her body being. She began to walk past through the room to the door, it was already morning and it was just a matter of time before he'd start his bickering, and when that happens she has to be as prepared as possible.
She got to the door, opening it up to see a small living room, and on the table, a fine set of food was displayed, a grand breakfast? Who made all of it? It was clearly meant for the girls since this cabin seemingly only had girls in it. Risaka took a moment to glance over what was displayed, corn break, many kinds of jam, it had a very traditional style, the style that spoke food you'd be able to make just from the country side. Risaka suddenly got a desire to eat, but the moment she felt that urge she quickly turned away and grunted displeased, this was an obvious way to make us soft, the damn Colonel probably expected her and Kanna to eat a bunch, that in itself felt like a defeat, even when the prize was mentioned to be food. But she didn't do the challenge for the food, but to make a point, so taking the food now would be... taking what she did yesterday for nothing. ''You cocky asshole, you think I'd accept your damn pityness? I don't need this kind of crap.'' Risaka clenched her fist and furiously stomped away from the table and towards the exit door. ''Don't underestimate me...'' She spoke to herself, getting into a small trance of fury when approaching the exit, slamming it right open to let the sunlight hit her body. ''I need no damn help!''

Indeed, no point arguing who among the two of them looked worse at this point, so Kanna outright refrained from doing so. Gradually, she fully acclimated to her weakened legs and managed to stand unassisted once again. Ugh... She grit her teeth at the effort required to take a simple step, and knew she wouldn't get anywhere like this. At this point, the blonde merely frowned when the girl claimed to be fine. "Yeah, same... Not sure if they force fed us, or some shit, but I aint really hungry, at least, not like before.", she replied, obviously sniffing out the lie on the girl's part, but refraining from mentioning it, letting the subject die in peace. She saw the girl use her quirk to pull off a stupendous jump like that, she heard the pain filled cry coming from her lips long before she even hit the ground, and just now saw the state she woke up in, even worse than her own. With each step she took though, her legs felt steadier as she got more and more used to this heavy soreness, easily weighing down each attempted movement by what felt like twice her bodyweight. Slow, steady and determined though, the blonde moved away from the bed and towards a nearby hanger, where her freshly washed sportswear stood waiting. Reaching around behind her back, she undid the knot on her hospital gown, then brought both arms in front of her, slooping her shoulders. The flimsy garment fell down unceremoniously, fully baring her sinuous form, battered and bruised by the results of yesterday's training. Grabbing the stretchy garment, she pulled the neckline out wide and slipped both legs through their respective spaces, then pulled the whole thing up, finally slipping her arms through the sleeves and covering her tattooed body.
"No, it really doesn't...", she agreed, finally turning to face Risaka once more as she started stretching, interlocking her fingers and wincing as she raised her arms high, then turned her torso to either side until every single joint crackled. Little by little, with every stretch, she'd feel the blood properly flowing through her stiff, overworked muscles, gently warming them up, "But i need to get my body moving, as do you. I mean, who knows what kind of fucked up bullshit did that Nazi plan for today...?", pausing, she proceeded to stretch one arm to the side, a pain filled grunt giving way to a long and deep, satisfied breath, "Not that I'm looking forward...", and then repeated the same motion, stretching her other arm out, twisting her torso into the movement, "...To finding out... But I still gotta be ready"
Once more, that fierce, defiant fighting spirit seemed all too vivid in those focused eyes of jade, fully attesting to how Kanna definitely understood how the war was from won. The Colonel would come at them with more outrageous shit, so they had to get their heads in the game as soon as possible. Thus she'd keep warming up and fighting off her body's reluctance to move, performing a series of stretches and finally skipping in place slightly. When Risaka all but claimed the Colonel as her prey though, Kanna's brow furrowed: "Yeah, you aint the only one with a bone to pick with that guy...", she declared, crackling her fists unyieldingly, very much proving her reluctance in letting the grey girl hog their tormentor all to herself. She wouldn't really mind taking turns though, that much was clear, "When the time comes, I swear imma kick 'im in the nuts." With both of them ready to go, she followed her companion as she opened the door, and before them stood a room filled with food, no doubt the meal the Colonel said they'd recieve should they cross his final hurdle. Yes, seeing it reminded her of that infuriating military man, enough to clench her fists and click her tongue... But she also knew they'd fought hard for this meal, hard enough to end up unconscious on a hospital bed: "Shut up and eat.", urged Kanna with a blunt, aloof tone - surprisingly down to earth - resting a hand on her shoulder, sighing as she walked past her. That understanding touch said a thousand words, the blonde clearly understood exactly what thoughts caused Risaka to freeze in place as such, to mumble all those words, "We dunno when we'll have food again."
As the grey girl made no motion towards the food, Kanna beat her to it, slumping down on an empty chair, her knees spread out more than a couple of feet apart in that very unfeminine posture she always took. This wasn't about help. This hard earned meal was theirs to savor, and more importantly, to properly replenish their energy. If Risaka couldn't even see that, she probably wouldn't have a chance to beating the Colonel's next challenge. As if to state her point, she merely picked up a couple loaves of bread, spread some butter on it, and started eating: "Tastes like shit...", she mumbled, swallowing the first bite as her nose twitched in annoyance, "Just like you'd expect from the military..."

There was no way Risaka could accept the food, she felt like a damn dog in a cage just surviving for the food to get to them. She hated the fact, but she was a bit too pridefull, her selfworth was overpowering reason and logic, but she wouldn't judge Kanna for hoggin in, it was between one's ideals and others' instinct. The food would certainly help her in the long run, but she had her own plans on how to venture through this new day. She stood by the opened door for a moment and peeked back at Kanna who was delightfully eating, but she noticed that the food wasn't on it's high quality, maybe it was old stuff? So maybe Risaka did dodge a bullet, she hate bad food and would rather get something much better, but she usually got that from a local market, none of that would be out in the wilderness. ''Sorry, but maybe later, I'll be outside.'' Shaking her head Risaka looked back forward and stepped out where the sun was ever so brightly. The rainstorm from yesterday truly made today seem alot more colourful and bright.
Was it always this pretty so far in the forest? She felt like there was no way for someone to find this place, this must've been a small point for the military grounds, a resting place neatly hidden in the sea of trees. When she got more adapted to the brightness of the summer sun she could look around, there was only two cabins, and she did remember the many obstacles located around the place, the typical military course, mainly for training soldiers in rough terrain with quick movement. Wearing her sports uniform she only could expect the worst from the Colonel in this day, but she was ready, mentally fortified with the built up anger and dedication for success. If only she had some opportunity to put him down into a pit it would quench her thirst for revenge. Risaka usually just shrugged it off whenever someone pissed her off or tried to act all superior, too much of a hassle, but the Colonel took one step too far. She was looking around for him, what was the next task? Did he by any chance run off when seeing her raw determination? Or he is likely spying on her, she wouldn't doubt he was gonna plan every move against her from now on. ''Now where is he... he has to be in the other cabon, the usualy principe within army, seperation of men and women.''
She was more used to her body and frimly wiggled her limbs to make her muscles move more freely before sitting down at a sliced long log acting as a bench. Nothing here was looking to be made in factories, it was all natural, guess this place has been here for some quite time. She held her hands together and leaned her chin on her knuckles while seeing more girls getting out of their cabon, probably after eating and such. Risaka was far enough from those who walked out to not approach her, afterall the area around the bench was getting more and more gray, her little zone of gloominess. ''I gotta think of a strategy to get him good, gotta catch him off guard, he is obviously more experienced in the battle field but he has no clue on how I think, I will get to knock him out cold and get this damn three day session done in no time...'' While brainstorming a process on how to take down a brute like him left Risaka sitting there with her mind on a whole another world, not focusing around her surroudings.

Whether because it reminded her on who'd provided their meal or because of her prejudice for the military, this pretty much tasted like one of the worst breakfasts Kanna had ever had, leaving a foul taste in her mouth. Whether the food was indeed low quality or not remained up for debate, but despite sharing Risaka's displeasure, the blonde ate herself a hefty breakfast, as much as she could without compromising her fitness for the hours to come. True to her lazy nature, she mainly stuck to buttered toasts with whatever else she could find: Ham, jam, peanut butter, you name it... Nothing really did it for her though, but oh well. Only two more days until she could kiss this hellish instruction goodbye. "Suit yourself...", shrugged Kanna, barely glancing her way as she expected the girl to know better than to fight on an empty stomach. Yes, she obviously understood her pride. Had the Colonel simply offered them food, the blonde might have rejected (well, maybe not while in her earlier, ravenous state). But she saw this as a bet the man had lost, pitching all the stacks against them, only to watch them clear the challenge better than some of those he seemingly favored. And more than that, Kanna was cunning. When she reached the point of loathing someone as such, she'd do whatever it took to triumph, fighting onwards with tooth and nails... And that meant replenishing the tank as much as she could. Thus, she ate even if she couldn't satisfy her palate, even if she found it bad enough to crook her nose. When a single desire overcame all others, the blonde would do whatever she needed to achieve it, more so than what she liked. When she finished with her meal, she simply stood up, adjusted the lower rim of her outfit around her thighs, and walked outside. The sudden brighteness made her squint, raising a single hand above her eyes. Yesterday's storm had given way to bright, sunny skies, with only a couple clouds in sight, not nearly enough for any to threaten to block out the sun. Immediately, something stood out, something out of place. The colonel and the other girls - Risaka included - were nowhere to be seen: "Huh... Where the fuck did they go...?", she wondered, hand on her hip, raising an eyebrow as her neck twisted left, then right, scratching her head. With a crooked, quizzical brow, Kanna looked around and finally took a step forward, readily exploring her surroundings. She saw another cabin like the one she'd just left, that's probably where the Colonel was sleeping...? She didn't really see that many people. Risaka was easy enough to spot though; she'd be very discreet without her gray zone, but alas, she had it, and thus Kanna immediately detected it. She didn't have time to approach her though, as all of a sudden she saw a pair of girls running around back and forth, warning what few people were still up and about aimlessly: "Hey, hurry up!! Colonel's already starting with second day's drill! He'll have us all doing pushups if everyone not in the infirmary isn't there soon!" In response, Kanna merely rolled her eyes... She wasn't really afraid of his punishment or anything, as she probably proved before. But she also hadn't come here to run away from the training expected of her. In case Risaka still hadn't been warned, Kanna would go over and do it for her, looking as determined as ever before: "Come on...", she'd tell her, the resolve in her eyes contrasting with the otherwise uninterested, deadpan look on her face. She too had grown used the soreness in her body, enough to hold that casual, laid back stance, sinking her weight on one hip and crossing her arms, "Second day's starting already."

It wasn't that Risaka did not wanna get active, well, she actually didn't wanna do a whole lot, but when it came down to prioritizing things she was much clear on what she had to do. She was just sitting for a bit, letting the many girls walk down the field where they got told to go to yesterday, it was afterall only Risaka and Kanna that got knocked out so it wouldn't come of a surprise if the Colonel only told the rest. This was definitely an attempt of his to make another excuse for harsh unecessary training piled up on the already harsh session. It was when Kanna out after the rest, bit late and had a confused look. Risaka didn't try to gain her attention and just observed her a bit. Eventually Kanna did notice Risaka, no wonder, her damn grayscale effect had already spread a good amount.
She irked to be reminded of her easily noticable she was and gave Kanna a stare of curiousity but with a slight hostile mark behind it. Was she gonna bicker her even more to get some of the damn bad food? Kanna did look like the persistant kind and for sure continue being so. But before Risaka could call out on Kanna the girls running around quickly caught the gray gal's pair of pale eyes it's attention. Of course, the Colonel wouldn't be able to give out punishment if they weren't there. Looks like they were about to go straight into another hellhole, she rolled her eyes and stood up, and thankfully thsi time she sharp shock in her muscles was not that big of a deal anymore, unless it has lessened by alot. ''Yeah yeah, no need to tell me, infact the moment I woke up I was already prepared for the second day.'' With a tough face she calmly showed off her confidence for today. Cracking her fingers lightly and neck she had the ready gesture, serious as ever aswell, second day likely wouldn't top yesterday.
''OKAY SISSIES! Yesterday was just easy stuff and you should be thankfull for not recieving whiplashes at your backs for the millions of mistakes you did! But today I feel generous, yes, generous as the man I am, so savor every moment of it! Today will be about how clumsy you are! Just staring at your fingers I can already tell you all got butterfingers! Pathetic!''
The Colonel stomped his foot back and forth infront of the line of the girls, Risaka being on the near end of the left side with the very much careless attitude, her stare pointed outwards into the air, but she did listen, just enough to grasp what he wanted with that loud mouth of his. Luckily for her she was still adaptive to his loud tune even having such a long rest, but that is pretty much the only thing she could appreciate at this very moment.
''As you can see, I have made a great line of set up for you sissies to use your non dirtened hands, it's time to show how men in the army clean their wives!'' Infront of them was a long table with dirty overused rifles lining up with a few tools next to them. A cloth, some soap, screwdriver and oil. Risaka eye'd at the many rifles, gulping a bit in hope for that she didn't have to go through another chopping wood incident, luckily it looks like there are only one rifle for each girl. Everyone took their seats, Risaka included, but while she did so she knew the Colonel gave her a mean stare, she turned her head a bit and responded with a single eye glare before putting her hands on the rifle. It was the more modern kind, it's official name was even imprinted on the bottom of the handle. ''Colt M16... sounds familiar.'' She knew the Colt part, but not the M16, but she could easily tell this was the kind for long distance shooting but also having the option to do automatic fire rate. It was dirty, really dirty, she assumed all of them was owned by a group in the army force, and the girls just became their maids. Risaka did not even know where to start, she assumed disambling it.

Yes, Kanna too would have preferred three days away from school would have meant sunshine and rainbows, especially if it meant her forgoing her use of cellphone or computer. Alas, things don't always work out so well, and to be fair the blonde really didn't mind your average fitness training. Hell, even intense fitness training worked alright for her, but not, well... Literally hell... Yes, adding insult to injury was obviously right up the man's alley, Kanna already figured that much out. She cared little for the gray girl's apparent hostility and approached her regardless. If she wanted to bail on the second day and would rather not be bothered, Kanna didn't really care... But she still warned her just in case the prick wasn't trying to screw her over again. "Good. You gonna need that...", replied Kanna, shrugging in a whatever kind of way, turning around one foot and walking away. Seemed like the girl wanted to be alone, and from one loner to another, the blonde clearly understood this desire. Thus, she made her own way to the next training ground by herself, scarcely sparing a thought for whether or not the girl followed her. Even though they both had a bone to pick with the guy, neither of them had any knack for being social, while both enjoyed their time alone. One of those few things where having common ground really won't contribute to a healthy friendship... Thus as she arrived at the second day's training ground - a shooting range by the looks of it - she reflexively rubbed an ear, closing one eye. As annoying as ever, and he'd probably remain such for a good long time afterwards. Yes, start with the insults, say absolutely nothing useful for the better part of five minutes and just shoot out spittle all over the fucking place... Stereotypical drill instructor. At this point, Kanna felt more exhasperated than outright pissed off, merely sighing to herself. He hadn't even mentioned anything, and anyone with half a brain could already tell today would revolve around guns, and possibly other forms of equipment. If only this guy wasn't as devious as he was obvious, these three days would have been a walk in the park... The blonde wound up pretty close to Risaka once again, as the two of them nonetheless arrived within a few seconds of each other, with the blonde's headstart making little difference in the grand scheme of things. "As if you could get a real wife...", scoffed the blonde, frowning at the blatant chauvinism of comparing their wives to mere tools used for killing people. Most guys were like that, so Kanna only held it against them for treating their wives as tools, not so much the other way around. She had plenty of reason to hate this guy already. Of course, even with all this anger she still predicted the man's intentions.
Seeing him mention cleaning first made her crook her brow, doubtfully. Was there any real point to cleaning up a gun right before using it? Would it make any reason to delay a soldier's deployment in the field to have them clean their guns? No, cleaning them afterwards made far more sense, and if anything, the military people weren't complete idiots when it came to winning wars... Those who would go down in history as losers, with no place in the modern world. Instead of the army being run by idiots, what made far more sense at this point: "All so he can make us clean the guns twice...", she sighed in conclusion, shaking her head at the straightfrowardly devious mind of this colonel, "...So fucking predictable." Risaka was close enough to be heard, yet with the Colonel screaming his lungs out, he'd have no way of hearing anything. Once he stopped speaking though, Kanna immediately moved forward and went for her rifle. Holding the heavy, filthy weapon in her hands, she held it and ran her hands over the material, trying to feel for obvious places she could crack it open and disassemble it. Yes, figuring out how to go about this was easier. Everytime Kanna saw a part she could crack open, she'd see just how many more she had left. But at the same time, she could simply look left and right, and see how some girls had already disassembled parts she had yet to figure out... This way, she could gradually dismantle the whole gun, and fully appreciate the messed up state it had been left in. Afterwards, cleaning... The parts which felt greasy and slimly, places where you'd have several parts that needed to slide over... Those would likely need oil. All the dust and grime had to go, especially in the firing mechanism. Kanna was no expert here, but logic went a long way, and she could look at everyone else all the same.
