WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Aki was explained how to turn the phone on. Grabbing hold, holding the button down. However, since Darren had just turned on the phone, it resulted in Aki immediately turning it back off. Shaking the phone in confusion, Aki repeated the process once more, making the phone return to life. An excited Oooooh left the girl's lips as she retraced the steps Darren had done the first time. Essentially copying what he had done and learning that way. Finding herself in the chatroom, Aki began touching the screen. Noticing a correlation between touching the 1-button and it appearing on the screen, Aki poked it a multitude of times. Without even realizing it, Aki had sent her very first message to the chatroom. 11111111. A fantastic first step for a wildling learning technology. Giggling as the text appeared with her name in chat, Aki wasn't quite understanding what was going on. The concept that others could be sending messages from elsewhere and they appeared on her screen hadn't quite clicked. Instead, the fact that there were a load of one's with Aki Koyama's name in front simply amused her. When Darren once more broke the silence, Aki had sent her second message. 11122222 Looking up from the phone to meet with Darren's eyes, Aki seemed completely lost once again. "Type..? What is type? Like type of bird?" Darren currently had Aki's full attention. The girl twiddled her toes on the bed, finding herself reasonably comfortable. Settling for the fact that she couldn't currently move around, the phone was about the best thing that could've happened. At least there was something interesting going on to capture her attention. "Aki not understand question. Type of phone? There more types?" Aki was completely oblivious. Hopefully Darren wasn't going to treat her like a stupid grandma over it.

Sigh. She didn’t know how to type on a phone.
Resigned, he took the phone from her hands to show her. “See, you type on the characters, and you can combine them to make kanji… Or you can click here for hiragana, and romaji is here.” As he explained all that, the girl looked at him with big eyes. She didn’t seem to understand. “Here. Click here, here and here, and you’ll write “Aki”. That’s your name, right?”
He gave her the phone back with a bit of a forced smile after showing her how to type “hi". How long was he gonna be forced to babysit this girl who could't even use a phone? He was getting a better idea of how she was now, but it was still a mystery. He shrugged and went on to annoy his good friend Mr. Skeletal with more skeleton memes, that would appear on Aki’s screen as well under Darren’s name. He answered in a disappointing way again. Darren was determined to get a reaction out of him. “Here, you see him? His name reads Harusomething, but he’s actually called Mr. Skeletal. Get that? Mr. Skeletal.” He showed her how to type Mr. Skeletal as well. His smile was a lot more genuine this time; he wanted to see how far he could go before his classmate blew his top. Getting Aki in on that action sounded like a perfect plan to the annoying teenager’s ears.
His curiosity was eating at him, however. Why exactly was the girl like that? Where did she even come from? Was his Ainu theory right? Uncharacteristically diverting his attention from annoying his classmates by flooding the chat with obscure memes, he lifted his eyes at the wildling playing with her phone and asked her.
"Aki? Where the fuck do you even come from?"

WORD COUNT; TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Darren kept swopping in, lifting the phone from Aki's fingers to show how things functioned, before handing the phone back and expecting Aki to learn. Aki was fairly capable of reading, at least as long as the literature wasn't too colorful in it's wording. However, when it came to typing, Aki was struggling far more. Getting the combinations of kanji to function on a phone was many times more difficult than someone initiated in the system may have realized. Still, Aki was having some amount of fun messing around with the phone. Hi hi hi hi. From here, the girl was slowly starting to understand the basics of the system. Enough to keep greeting people and writing her name at least. The whole mr. skeletal bit was entirely lost on Aki. The girl understood the concept that they were greeting someone with that name. The girl also understood that mr. skeletal was somehow capable of replying. Beyond that, the interaction truly didn't interest her any. A short exchange of quesitons regarding icecream, that Aki also did not quite understand. Eventually, the whole phone thing had become incredibly boring to the young wildling. It was at about that time that Darren asked where Aki came from. Tilting her head curiously to the side, the girl answered in a manner that almost slapped Darren across the head for asking such an obvious question. "Aki come from outside. Wilds! Where Darren come from?" The girl's expression wasn't truly interested in the question that she was asking. Squirming around on the bed a little, the redheaded female tried to get up standing once again. However, exhaustion and dizzyness had her essentially shackled to the bed for the moment. A fact that most certainly frustrated her as she hammered onto the bed twice."Aki want to leave. Aki cannot leave. Aki cannot walk. Aki is annoyed." The girl spat out in a rapidfire fashion. Unable to direct this frustration at anything, the bed had gotten hit a couple of times by her fist. Giving up on setting up, the girl leaned backwards, now lying flat on the bed. Sighing softly, seeing a wildling being forced to take it easy may have been quite amusing to outsiders. To Aki, this was borderline torture. The girl was used to going where she wanted, when she wanted, however she wanted. Ever since she had been caught poaching, everything had to be done by other's standards. Blinking a couple of times, tiredly, Aki's head soon tilted to the side. The girl was far more exhausted than her active behavior had indicated. Now, once again, she was out cold, with the phone lying inconspiciously next to her head.

Darren sighed. Apparently, this redhead didn’t even knew where she was from. Her typing in the class chat also told a lot about her mastery of the modern world. It was, to say the least, very limited. Only one conclusion could be drawn, and it was that the girl was born and raised in the wild by some hippies. With quirks, some people thought they would return to nature, now armed to face it. He considered Aki once again. So far, she didn’t have a great record against nature. It was 1-0 for the trees, as far as Darren could see.
“I’m from Tokyo, and a bit of Australia too. You even know what that means?” Whatever the answer was, Aki clearly wasn’t interested in giving it, squirming on the bed even more. She really couldn’t be kept in place, complaining that she wanted to leave but couldn’t.
Thankfully, she soon fell asleep. Darren sighed, in relief this time. He grabbed the phone and put in back on the nightstand. It was one of these plastic tables integrated in the bed frame. He looked at his own phone. The wildling fell asleep right in time for English class.
He got up and informed the nurse, who let him go. She reminded him that he would probably get a talking-to about why he was even here in the first place. He barely paid any attention to her.
The rest of the day was a boring school day, which there is no need to describe, as everyone knows what a boring school day consists of. There wasn’t even a single sparring class, just theory on triage and first aid, which bored Darren to tears.
When he got home, his mother scolded him for his dirty uniform. He was just glad it was just dirty, and not torn everywhere. He thought of the wildling briefly, wondering again where she came from. He soon let the thought go with a shrug, as he booted his console for a intensive three hours session of car soccer before he went to bed.
