APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Hidehiro is above average in height, standing at 178 centimeters. His build is more on the lean side, weighing in at 72 kg. He has dark blue hair that could appear black at times depending on the lighting. His hair is very short and combed back, although he often leaves a few strands of hair hanging in front of his forehead. His skin is very light, and there are no notable scars. His eyes are light blue and a bit on the narrow side, while his eyebrows are thin. Most of the time, Hidehiro will have a neutral facial expression, rarely smiling or frowning as he does not like to express himself very much.
Regarding his typical choice of clothing, Hidehiro prefers wearing formal clothes, as he sees himself as a proper gentleman. He likes wearing vests, trench coats, and suits. He prefers dress pants over jeans, and likes dress shoes over sneakers. Not that he can't dress casually, but Hidehiro usually only does so sparingly. The man also likes to wear gloves a majority of the time.
The man owns a special suit: a vest with what appears to be numerous magnifying lenses sticking out of it. However, he usually has this vest hidden underneath his clothes, preferring not to have the magnifying lenses stick out unless he is conducting an investigation. In addition, Hidehiro will often walk around with a pipe in hand, preferring that over cigarettes or cigars. He also likes walking with a cane (or using an umbrella like one), even though he has no need for one.
POSITIVE
✔ Calm, observant, patient, thorough, gentlemanly, kind
NEGATIVE
✖ Aloof, arrogant, overly stoic, inquisitive, workaholic, cares little for own health
LIKES
✔ Detective work, mystery books and movies, his family, thinking, playing violin, smoking
DISLIKES
✖ Crime, corrupt law enforcement, failure, being criticized, showing his emotions, anything or anyone illogical
Personality:
Upon first glance, Hidehiro may come off as quiet, perhaps even shy. However, he is merely stoic, preferring to not show any outward emotion so unnecessarily. To strangers and acquaintances, it is like the man wears an iron mask. Only those the man explicitly trusts and are very close to will be able to see the emotions under that iron mask. He prefers to be alone, to work and operate alone. That is not to say that Hidehiro is a rude man by any means. On the contrary, he always does his best to be polite with anyone he talks with. He can be fittingly described as a gentleman, always looking and acting properly, speaking in a serious yet polite manner whenever possible.
Hidehiro is calm and composed, having a strong control over his emotions and very rarely ever losing his cool. First impressions of the man may make him out to be cold and uncaring, though this is far from true. He is incredibly patient, rarely rushing and preferring to take his sweet time whenever possible. Hidehiro also likes being thorough in everything he does, not liking to half-ass anything. He likes to think logically, not liking things or people that make no sense. Anything illogical frustrates and annoys him.
He is also very observant, always looking closely for details in anything, as though constantly analyzing everything around him. However, there are times when Hidehiro can go too far with this, often becoming too curious for his own good and prying into others' business. He does apologize if his nosiness gets him called out. However, any excessive criticism in anything he does or says gets him annoyed very fast. Hidehiro is rather smug and arrogant, and thus believes himself to be close to flawless, especially in his thinking and reasoning skills. Any talk of the contrary will feel like an insult to him.
Hidehiro is unfortunately a man who cares little for his own physical health, enjoying smoking despite the health risks. He is almost obsessed with his work, often choosing to work overtime whenever possible and neglecting to get proper rest. However, he does take some effort to not completely let himself go. He only smokes and drinks occasionally, and he does listen whenever someone points out whenever he looks like a mess. Though he cares little for himself, he is very close to his son and foster father, doing everything he can to spend time with them and keep them happy.

HISTORY
The year is 2038. An infant by the name of Arthur Wood is born in one of the hospitals of New York City. However, it would not take long for the baby's parents to abandon their child. Was it due to financial difficulties? Did they simply not want the baby? Or was there another reason? Regardless, the baby would spend several years at one of the city's orphanages. Fortunately for young Arthur, his stay at the orphanage was far from unpleasant. While he did not have much, there was enough food to eat, and the other orphans weren't too bad.
At the age of 4, a Japanese couple would pay the orphanage a visit. As they were unable to have kids of their own, they wished to adopt one. Chika and Daiki Sasaki would become Arthur's new mother and father, giving the child a new home and all the love and affection his biological parents would not. The new family would stay in New York for five years before deciding to move back to Japan.
The boy's childhood could best be described as average. He went to school just like any other kid. He did all his homework. He was quirkless just like most of his classmates, but he did not mind not having any special gifts. He was a reclusive child for the most part, preferring to be alone. Because of this, the boy had very few friends growing up, only two or three throughout all his time in school. It was a bit lonely, but Arthur did not mind this. He just wanted to do well in his studies and make Chika and Daiki proud. There was no need to have a large group of friends when the very few he had made would more than suffice.
With how much the boy loved his new family and the fact that his biological parents had never once attempted to reach out to him, Arthur made a decision. Once he was old enough to do so, he would legally change his name and shed his old one forever. And that is how Arthur Wood became known by his new chosen name: Hidehiro Sasaki.
Early adult life for Hidehiro was pretty standard. After successfully graduating school and buying his own home, Hidehiro wished to join law enforcement. He was still trying to figure out what he wanted to do in life, but he knew that he wanted to help people. And what better way than to help stop crime? His high school sweetheart (who he would later marry) suggested he become a detective, due to how intelligent and observant he was. Hidehiro agreed, and after lots of hard work, his career as a detective began. At the age of 22, Hidehiro got married and shortly afterwards had a son. Things seemed to be looking up for him.
But of course, there were hardships to endure. First, his foster mother Chika died from a heart attack when Hidehiro was 25. Five years later, the man's wife was brutally murdered by a pair of criminals after a foiled bank robbery. The man was devastated by both of these sudden deaths. Even after helping to catch the men responsible and put them behind bars, there was no soothing the pain of the loss of his beloved wife. He became depressed, starting to drink and smoke often, and he buried himself in his detective work, shutting himself away from all but those closest to him.
Still, despite everything bad that happened, Hidehiro refused to fall into despair. He had a son to raise, after all! The man would continue to work hard, coming home very late at night and often needing to leave his son with Daiki. Despite staying at work for long periods of time (both out of love for his profession and to earn as much money as he could due to a bit of financial difficulties), Hidehiro would make time to be with his son and ensure that his boy would have a father he could be proud of and look up to. Just as his adoptive parents had been there for him, Hidehiro wished to be there for his son.
And that brings the story of Hidehiro Sasaki to the present day. While continuing to struggle with the tragic loss of both his foster mother and his wife, Hidehiro continues to do what he can to get by every day. He keeps facing and moving forward, for the sake of his precious son. He continues to work hard to uncover mysteries and solve crimes for the police under the alias 'Q'. He continues to do what he can to help people. Hidehiro may not be the best, but he hopes to work hard enough to get there someday.
In the world of heroes and villains, will a simple quirkless detective be able to get by using only his wits and intuition? Will he be able to make a name for himself? Only time will be able to tell.
