APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Tai’s resting face has a naturally aggressive look; his sharp brow and narrow eyes aren’t doing him any favors. Depending on who you ask, he either appears to be an unapproachable jerk or a bombshell – based on how he carries himself, you can probably guess which category Tai sorted himself into. Short blonde hair sits atop his slender head. The black sclera of his eyes brings out his golden hued irises, completing his cold and borderline mechanical appearance. His thin nose possesses a mild dorsal hump and his wide downturned lips are proportionate to the rest of his face.
Described as sleek or even mechanical, Tai’s physique is a unique topic altogether and is quite a bit to unpack. Others can reference others to describe their bodies, but his is one of a kind. His pale skin meets eerily onyx tinted skin as you near his extremities. The plate-like material that covers his body, while visually and functionally metallic – it’s organic. It heals over time like any other wound, but usually requires tools capable of bending and soldering it. Therefore, most of the scratches or buff marks on his limbs are his bodies form of scarring; of which, he has many.
Of what he can compare to others are his physical dimensions and to some extent his physique. Relatively average height, his weight is above average due to his natural armored casing. Broad-shouldered, the spherical metallic plates on each of his deltoids raise his shoulders higher. Despite a sleek and aerodynamic appearance, he’s surprisingly functional; the joints on his arms and hands offer him the typical rotations available to anyone else with a normal body. The palms of each of his hands possess barreled ports capable of ejecting the intense heat of his quirk and for firing explosive blasts. His upper torsos ribcage is lined with symmetrical vents which exhaust excess body heat. In the case of both adequate ventilation and flexibility, his lower legs share the traits of his arms and chest.
Were it not for his metallic shell, Tai would appear as an otherwise normal and fit young man who is having his physique enhanced by his quirk's mutation factor. His musculature supports any area that isn’t covered by the carapace compensates for the lack of it with muscles, giving it a much firmer feel and more a rigid look, What isn't hidden by a shell of armor, is usually covered by clothing. Despite Tai's weight, his overall physique is slender, rigid, and capable.
Tai opts for baggier and loose-fitting tops to prevent the blocking of any exhausts. Not to mention, the much greater level of comfort they provide. Often, aspects of his clothes need to be cut away or torn to make room for his oddities and for that reason alone he avoids expensive, designer brands. Tai does next to nothing to hide his appearance as a vigilante and he considers it a pointless exercise to try. For better or worse, almost no one forgets what he looks like.

Personality:
A serious guy with a resting bitch face, most people mistake him for being in a bad mood. Should they fail their initial read of his appearance, those same people are spot on about what they’re experiencing. Rude and somewhat temperamental, he easily turns more mild-mannered and goofy people off with his directness and gruff approach to conversation. That said, most of this is a surface-level defense mechanism – born from years of distrust.
Underneath it all, he cares a lot more than people tend to think he does. He cares about the people around him, his neighborhood, and for what people think of him. So much so that he finds it difficult to take criticism as he tends to dwell on the sincere words of others. Anyone who takes the opportunity will notice that his actions speak louder than his words. He may berate you for just about any undesired aspects of your personality, but you will never go cold or hungry while he’s around.
In a world of quirks that include strange transformations and a variety of mutations, he’s self-conscious of his appearance. Say what you will in support of him or how ‘cool’ he may look, it will go unappreciated and unwanted. It isn’t the biggest issue in his life, but he gets agitated when forced to broach the subject.
If you take a moment to watch how he carries himself, you will probably notice that he’s extremely laidback. He’ll kick his feet up on a roof and he’ll kick his feet up in your house (also very willing to raid your fridge if you let him). Having dealt with all the personalities that he has; he’s usually not shocked by stories of abuse and other criminal acts. While not all that sympathetic towards the excuses people make about why they’ve turned out the way they did, he feels even less for people born with a silver spoon in their mouths.
Nothing more than low-grade and unknown muscle in his formative years, he threw his share of punches. His own brand of vigilantism is informed by experiences from his past. As much as Tai’s unafraid to throw a punch, he’ll pull a punch if he thinks the situation calls for it. Nonetheless, he loves a good fight but he's not a very honorable man himself. If he needs to hit below the belt, be prepared to be kicked in the groin.
Tai’s not very heroic despite his occasional heroic escapade, his dismissive and laidback attitude is a bit of an insult to the trade. This often manifests itself in his half-assed of nonchalant responses to the lesser troubles around him. He tends to completely overlook smaller crimes, not really caring for thieves and pilfered goods if there's a good reason for it (unless it's his own shop). The cherry on top is his all-around hostile nature. If no one is there to stop him, he tends to go a bit overboard with his punishments for harsher crimes and especially for the acquisition of information. Violence may beget violence, but in Tai's world, if you apply just enough pressure – you’ll get the results you won't.
He’s all about his neighborhood and what he can do for it. Tai doesn’t consider himself a hero or anything resembling one, but he grew up in the streets and now chooses to watch over them. He doesn’t really have that much faith in heroes and rolls his eyes at the thought of waiting for them – even more so at the idea of that there needs to be a special school for it. But that could also just be his inner pettiness talking.

HISTORY
Tai was raised in a relatively small orphanage in the Kyoto area. From as early as he could remember, he had very little consistency and next to no one to rely on. No fortune, no influence and what some would call just all-around bad luck. Having never known his parents, Tai was like many others with a variety of backgrounds. Some tellers of tall tales to ease their sorrow and others mischievous for the sake of attention. The younger and cringier version of himself fell into the latter category.
For years, whether it be at school or in the home, he was a proper rowdy boy - always getting into trouble and picking fights. Of course, he had grown accustomed to getting his ass handed to him and the punishments related to his deviant behavior. While he was taught to not use his quirk in public or on anyone else and if it came in handy for anything, it was to avoid the repercussions of his actions.
Not long after, Tai’s world would be flipped upside-down as the unimaginable happened. He was adopted into the Gensō family, Sakuto and Hibana. Having gone parentless his entire life, he had little in the way of manners. The family turned out to be a modest one and while they didn’t have very much, to Tai it was always better than the alternative. While Tai was difficult, the three were happy and soon they became four - with the addition of his younger sister. They did their best raising the two and despite Tai’s rebellious and often nasty nature, he learned what it meant to have a family in the home.
However, it wasn’t the only family he had grown to appreciate. His previously innocent antics had introduced him to a small handful of questionable individuals. Many people have made the mistake of thinking the moniker ‘Hell Bomber’ was something Tai thought of on his own. In truth, it was a repurposed nickname given to him by people who had convinced him to do bad things to good people. Tai was strong and fast, exactly what an organization like them needed and in exchange, he would never want for anything again. It sounded like a sweet deal to a kid who had never known a somewhat normal life.
Caught between his new family and the crew he grew up with, he sought the balance the two. One the family he wanted and the other was the family he got. Depending on who you asked, he was either a good kid or an indicator of trouble. He often acted as a pawn for the real tough guys that came to collect whatever it was that they wanted. It ranged from extorting protection money to the pushing of counterfeit goods.
His father owned a small family coffee shop fittingly named “Sakuto’s Coffee”. It was only a matter of time before his worlds collided and where Tai would be presented with a choice. Being the youngster that he was, he failed at making his choice. He aimed to try and preserve that delicate balance he had spent years trying to maintain. When the time came to extract resources from the family that took him in, he thought he could get away with it being a minor one-time occurrence. Ultimately, nothing went according to his plans.
With Sakuto’s resistance came Tai’s gangs need to make a point. They would go on to attack and destroy the coffee shop, critically injuring his father. The incident snapped Tai back to reality- revealing to him just how poor the choices he was making were. With the family business destroyed and his father hospitalized, Tai took to the streets to see to it that his former companions were brought their punishment.
After the forced dissolution of his former crew, Tai had to confront his family on the truth of the matter. He thought no one could be more disappointed in him other than himself, but he was wrong. They most certainly were – to the point where they had chosen to move on without him. He had lost all their trust, but not all their love. The run-down shop was his to do with what he wanted and Tai spent years renovating the little shop. When he wasn’t fixing up the place, he was studying to become a mechanic. And when he wasn’t doing that, he went ahead and partook in his productive method of venting his frustrations.
With the shop fixed, he makes a living as a half-decent mechanic and living in a small room on the second floor. In one of the corners, a small radio to pick up frequencies of serious criminal activity. When he wasn't at home fixing things, he was outside break things.
