July 8th, 2074. 5 p.m. Training grounds at UA.
Fire. Mizuki managed a spark. Fire. This time smoke. Fire. This time nothing. Mizuki had came to terms with it. She really couldn't do fire. It was more forced out due to how she treated her quirk. For most of her life, she and her brother had always been able to wield the same elements with their quirk. Or so she thought. Desmoshi had finally gotten a hang on the wind and water element of his quirk, putting ahead of Mizuki. But lately Mizuki's quirk has been acting... Strange.
During the Fuchu riots, her earth and fire portion of the quirk didn't work properly. She was holding up a large pole, hoping that it would not crush the car of people. Mizuki couldn't hold on much longer. Just when she though it was about to give out... she felt cold. The next thing she knew, she had frozen the mid section of the pole solid. At first she thought she was combining the elements, making something new. But when she went to use her earth portion like usual, it didn't work. During her internship with Hachi-san, she produced lightning instead of fire.
Now fast forward to today. Mizuki was on Training Ground Alpha, still trying to figure out what was going with her quirk. The wind and water portion worked just fine. But the earth and fire portion did absolutely nothing. Was it her? Was she losing her touch? Maybe... the problem was deeper than her quirk. She closed her eyes and visualized her inner storm. Ever since her meditation with Jessie-sensei, she was slowly coming to terms with how her quirk was suppose to work. 'Maybe,' Mizuki thought back.
She looked in within her mental storm. The pain of those who looked down at her for her part in the Redhorn Rampage. How she was viewed the pro heroes and how she had lost faith in them. How her brother was getting farther ahead then she was. Her confusing relationship with Yang. Yang. The true center of her storm. Her peace. Her everything. She wasn't sure why she was thinking these thoughts but it felt.. natural
Back in the real world, Mizuki's hand begin to crackle with energy. Snow begin to swirl around her as the wind blew her hair back. Water begin to pool around her feet. When Mizuki opened her eyes, she was in awe. This was something different... something new. She made the motions to bring all four together as one entity, swirling the four elements like layers. This was incredible. She couldn't do fire and earth anymore- she never needed to in the first place. It was her powers developing into somehting new- into the perfect storm. And Mizuki was ready to accept it.

Another day, another dollar If only we were paid to attend school... @mizuki | 3 1 7 | #1 Reply "HOLY HECK, DUDE!"
Kaguya did not expect to come into the room and come across what seemed to her like a sudden quirk awakening. It looked right out of an anime; energy bubbling around a person sporadically and violently, with what seemed to be no reason. Except...those were anime. This was real life. She nearly had the floor below her turn to mud instinctively, but cut it out before making a fool of herself.
Now that she had gotten a bit better at her bearings, it seemed that the situation wasn't as bad. Nobody nearby seemed to be attacking or effecting her, and there didn't seem to be any breaches in Yuuei security. Even the student in front of her didn't look so bothered-well, they did, but their expression didn't come off as "OH MY GOD I'M BEING ATTACKED WITH ALL FOUR ELEMENTS PLZ SAVE ME". She looked more...preoccupied. Aloof. Kaguya was actually sort of awestruck.
"T-that's...actually really cool, lady. I was scared out of my wits but, still pretty awesome!" Kaguya sounded like an energetic, charismatic teenager who had just finished watching the latest superhero flick. She took a few cautious steps towards the lady, Kaguya's grin becoming more nervous as she moved forward, but she was still smiling ayways. "I didn't know quirks could...do that. Really cool, actually, haha! Although, I'm probably...interrupting. Aren't I? I mean, in scenes like these in comics it's typically something that's pretty intimate and is intrinsically linked with the protagonist's growth as a person and as a hero and since I'm not your sidekick I probably should be in a different place in the plot..."
Kaguya didn't seem to drift into her own thoughts; this was simply just...how the student spoke. Although she immediately became flustered after her long, expository rant. "Okaaaaay, you're probably very confused, so I'll give another intro. I-I'm Kaguya Adachi, haha! And I'm...uh...so what's your name?"

So this is what her mother meant. Maybe her mother knew the whole time that she wasn't the same as her brother and wanted her to figure it for herself. Was it all the self-doubt that blocked out her powers? Or was it just accepting it that was the issue? Whatever, it was she felt free and open with herself. And in the second time of being here, she smiled. She moved her hands as she directed the elements she created around her, swirling in a massive maelstrom of glory and freedom.
Mizuki was so focused on what she was doing she didn't notice a dark reddish brown-haired fellow walking into the training grounds. When he spoke, she was a little startled but managed to stay in control with her elements. "Ummm... thanks?" Mizuki said in a deadpan tone as she deactivated her quirk. "No, its fine. I am just practicing. You are not interfering." Then young girl went into a whole spill about anime that reminded of her Desmoshi when he was done watching anime. After she was done she introduced herself as Kaguya Adachi. "Hello," Mizuki said with a quiet smile. "I am Mizuki Haymaker of 2-A It's nice to meet you. Are you new here?"

Another day, another dollar If only we were paid to attend school... "I am absolutely and without a single shadow of doubt very new at Yuuei and I'm honestly shocked that I haven't quit out of nervousness already!" reported the teenager with a sharp sense of self-deprecating humor, grinning a little bit as she said that. Some of her laugh sounded uncertain, however-it had not been very easy to feel at home in a school such as this, especially given the reasons behind it. "I'm in class 1-B, though I don't really see the difference between the two classes. I've heard rumors that they're based off our perceived strength in our quirks, but in that case I would be in something resembling 1-Z."
"It's wonderful that I aren't interfering though, seeing as I'm probably the world's most awkward hero-in-training. Speaking of which...you've got experience, right? Tell me something-what type of heroes are there? I'm an amateur journalist, I'd love to know!" Kaguaya said with a genuine excitement in her voice. She seemed to be more interested in her writings than the actual hero part of things. "Whatever the case, you must be pretty good. Those elemental powers look...fiery."

Mizuki was kind of use to this energy. More because her brother was the same when he was nervous or excited. It was always nice to see a new face. It took her some time, but she was finally getting used to people and coming to terms with actually making some friends. Maybe. It was hard to say. But here was a person who wanted to know more about the hero world, and for the first time, she wasn't sure on what to say.
"I guess the best way to see it as is that everyone plays a role," Mizuki responded to the youngster. "You got your front-line heroes and first-responders. Then you have heroes who work behind the scenes, investigating cases that most heroes wouldn't take. Then you have those in the medical field or tech group, providing equipment and aid for those who need it." Mizuki pause for a second looking for the right words. "I guess the best way to put is that everyone needs the other person. Every hero is different, but they can't do the job alone."
Mizuki hoped that she didn't confuse the poor lass. She wanted her experience here to be a good one and give her the chance to discover something new. "To be honest," Mizuki said, responding to the girl's comment about her quirk. "I am learning some new things about my quirk that I didn't know I could do." She wondered if she picks up a new style of martial art; something more fitting. "Hey if you have the time, I could show you around Yuuei if you like."

Another day, another dollar If only we were paid to attend school... Suprisingly, Kaguya actually seemed somewhat bothered by her explanation of heroes. There was something about it that rubbed her the wrong way, and the young lass couldn't help but speak her mind.
"Well, that sucks a little bit for me. I don't think working together is a bad thing, but constantly depending on everyone to get the job done is the EXACT reason why I'm even becoming a hero; to get rid of that. I wanna do stuff by myself. All the superheroes I read about are almost totally fictional, but you know what? They don't freeze in a crowd. They don't struggle to do anything without another voice backing them. So I guess I'd like to become EVERY kind of hero and not spend every waking moment waiting for someone else."
Kaguya looked a bit moodier than usual, unlike the determined expression that usually bemoaned a hero's face. The lady was as expressive as ever, and her hands were curled into tight fists; she came off as annoyed and disappointed in...who? Herself? Very soon after her apparent rant, the budding student soon realized what she had just said and became very flustered, happy-go-lucky again. "Oh my jeezus, I apologize, I just can't help but speak as I think sometimes, it's probably making me look like a total dork. Hehe...I wouldn't mind seeing around the place with you. It'd be great to get more pictures for my yet-to-exist blog."

Mizuki was kind of perplex at the first-year's response. Maybe she may have made it seem like she needed to dependent every time she was in trouble. Mizuki tried to figure out the right words to say for this moment. "Sure, you can more do by yourself," Mizuki said quietly with a small smile. "But who would make your hero outfit? Provide you the gear for missions? Provide the documents and research on the villains? Even the heroes in your comics needed to depend on others to get the job done."
Mizuki picked up her bag and packed away her water bottle. She was trying to get used to her quirk to prepare for a martial art she had to stop practicing a long time ago. She had spent so long trying to be her mom and follow in her footsteps that she had forgotten to be her person. Not just with her quirk, but her fighting style as well. She knew it was time to break that mold.
And she should probably start with breaking the mold on how she acted around people. Not everyone was bad. Even this young enthusiastic person was giving her a bit of cheer to the heart. "Sure," Mizuki answered. "What would you like to see first? Maybe I can show you to Fort Slog. Or we can take a look around other parts of the campus."

Another day, another dollar If only we were paid to attend school... "Fort Slog? Sounds rather unhygienic. Wait, does the school have a Fort? That's crazy-maybe they'd need to it to defend themselves, I'm sure some particularly nasty villains would just love to murder all of us, though our teachers are Pro Heroes and would try their best to stop them! Er, nevermind."
To some extent, Kaguya wanted to disagree with what Mizuki said, even if she was right. Nobody could do it all by themselves...but that's exactly what Kaguya wanted to do! Sure it was stupid and idealistic, but that was her shtick. It was better to be idealistic than to be totally hopeless. But...it wouldn't help to be somewhat realistic either. "I guess you're right about the hero thing. I just, I dunno, it's weird, I hate being, well, me. I'd rather be a hero! Or become a hero, well, ya get the idea. I'm speaking too much, aren't I?"
Kaguya honestly wasn't sure what to do. On one hand, this person really did seem nice, and had a bit of a "bigger sister" vibe to them. On the other hand, Kaguya's ears were still red from having to explain why she'll be the hero that can do it all, and she hated yelling at students to begin with. Still, though..."The campus? I would love to explore all of Yuuei's dirty nick and crannies!"

Mizuki couldn't argue. Everyone had their own goals and that's what made everyone so unique here at UA. "Never hate being yourself. "You" is what makes the word "hero" unique. If you believe that's how a hero should be, then I have no right to change your mind. By the end of the journey, its what you define as a hero," Mizuki said with a smile. "Only you can define the word "hero" for yourself." A lesson she learned the hard way. She had tried to be like her favorite pro. She had to be like her mom. She was learning to just be her. No more of this be everyone else crap. She was going to be a hero because it was her choice. So if Kaguya believed in that version of a hero, she had every right too.
Mizuki looked and pointed at the massive building in the center of the training field. "Fort Slog is a training building meant to simulate real-life dangers that you would face out there in the field. Its got a training simulator, a rescue mode, and a bunch of other stuff. Your combat teacher will run through it, but I think you will do just fine." Mizuki walked towards the exit of the training grounds. "There are some other things here at UA. I can show as well. Just follow me."

Another day, another dollar If only we were paid to attend school... "Uh...g-got it!"
Kaguya knew a whole lot and very little at the same time, and this happened to be one of those thing she knew nothing about. The student didn't have a sibling that she could look up to as an authority figure; her mom and dad didn't talk to her like this, and they didn't talk much to begin with, and Kaguya's small circle of friends usually dismissed talk of being a hero as "weird stuff" and changed topics. So she sort of blankly stared at Mizuki in an extremely goofy (yet oblivious) manner. However, her brain formulated a response to what she had said soon enough; the kid was somewhat good at adapting to things.
"I have no idea if I'm going to reach the end of the journey or not, cuz I'm just a nerd in a big world while real heroes like you are super cool and maybe I can be my own hero someday, maybe, potentially!" Kaguya had an extremely nervous, yet cute and determined grin on her face. She had no idea what the future was life but was gonna dive head-in into it anyways. Like a hero. Or a dumbass, pick your pick. "Fort Slog sounds extremely convenient and awesome, I'd love to test it out! I-I don't exactly get into a lot of fights with my quirk. I have loads of ideas, but they're mostly from...comic books. I-I'd love to come with ya, though!"

Mizuki thought about the young girl's words. Kaguya kind of reminded her of a mix between her and Desmoshi. Mizuki came here with no purpose and a feeling of not being able to live up to the hero's name. Desmoshi was in his own right a little bit nerdy, but he never lost sight of his goal. The two differ but always forged the same path- understanding the word hero. And that's what her new goal was to. To understand and redefine the word hero. And although Tsuki wasn't with her anymore, more realizing who she truly was, Mizuki felt that she was here all along. As Mizuki. The hero who wanted to define the name and make her own path.
"I have more than enough faith in you that you will reach the end of your journey," Mizuki said with a smile. "And when you get there, let me know the answer you find." Mizuki headed for the door of the training grounds. "But for now, I will be your guide. There are more things to see if you like. As for Fort Slog, you can get with Keiko-sensei about it. She knows more about Fort Slog than I do. She would be more than happy to help you test out with you." Mizuki remembered her first time in Fort slog with her brother and Yang. Although they emerge victoriously, it taught Mizuki the importance of teamwork.
But back to Kaguya. What would she show the young girl first? The classrooms? The mess hall? The dorms? So many choices.

Another day, another dollar If only we were paid to attend school... "I-I'll totally tell you what I find at the end of the metaphorical trip! And I have no idea where your faith is coming from, if I'm being honest. It's really nice that you believe in me but...I dunno." Kaguya facepalmed in an annoyed fashion, shaking her head. "Man, it must seem like I don't appreciate whatcha said, because I really do, I just...it's hard to cure being a dumb nerd in a day, ya know? But, it's super nice knowing that I have a friend. Or a big sister. I think f-friend is a better descriptor, heh!" The girl gave an awkward, but genuine thumbs-up. It was beyond her wildest dreams to actually make a friend in such short time, and one that was also wayyy more experienced than her too! The young student grinned happily as a result! "A-anyways, uh, I really could go anywhere, this school's a freakin' maze to get around, it's like a superhero complex! Honestly, I'd like to see the classrooms. Those are where I'm gonna spend most of my time in, right? O-or maybe all the training facilities. I-I aren't really a sporty gal but I do like to hang out there sometimes 'cause it's quiet and I read better on a treadmill for some weird reason."

"Good," Mizuki responded to her comment. It was hard to find a place in this world filled with unique quirks. At times, it could be a little intimidating. But after going through meditation and different situations, she finally felt free and knew what she wanted to to contribute to the world. "And don't worry about feeling that way," Mizuki said walking down the hall with her. "You have a right to your own opinion. Let's find the workshop first. It is really important that you know where that is."
Mizuki pointed out a few other classrooms for the second and third years. "The real cool thing about being here is that your homeroom teacher follows throughout you career here at UA," said Mizuki, heading towards the workshop. "That way you don't have to keep changing homeroom teachers each year. It's actually quite relaxing to know you will always get the same teacher. She opened the door to the workshop. "And here is where most of the supports students work at. It also doubles as a classroom for support students." There was gear and pieces strewn across the tables with a giant whiteboard filled with ideas. Lab coats hanged on a hook with a couple pairs of safety googles on top of them. There were different orders on top of gear for other students who needed it. "So what do you think so far?"

Another day, another dollar If only we were paid to attend school... "IT'S AWESOME!"
Kaguya was extremely attentive and enthusiastic as she was shown the various classrooms around Yueei. Apart from taking constant pictures like a madman, she also inspected and oogled at all the various parts of the classes, even the most mundane things, if she could anyways. While they made a special effort to not come off as obnoxious, the student couldn't hold in their nerdy, somewhat childlike excitement. "Man, I got so many pictures for my blog! My journalism's gonna level-up from all this...it's super helpful, Mizuki!" After this, they finally calmed down to try and compose their thoughts. "Well, I think having one homeroom teacher the other time is pretty cool! Although somewhat boring. I get bored and satisfied too fast and too slow at the same time...it's really damn inconsistent for me. Being a support hero seems strangely awesome, although I don't think my goofy, aloofy nature is suited for meticulate, intricate science, ya know? I mean I'm not...the best...at being smart, but my hands are reallly nervous!" They were talking at a pace that was almost hard to understand. Kaguya definitely didn't notice.

The girl was talking so fast it was hard for Mizuki to keep up. She was able to catch a few words and put two and two together. "Anyone can be a support hero," said Mizuki with a smile. "You don't have to be highly intelligent or anything. You just have a sense of wanting to help others in their time of need is all. Plus, they don't just focus on intricate science. Some of it's pretty basic. Whether it be healing or even just helping someone else."
After a couple minutes they finally made it to Kaguya's homeroom. "And here's where you will be receiving instructions from you homeroom teacher. You will meet with them every morning except the weekends. They really not that bad to be honest. Some are pretty cool." Mizuki was slowly coming down from how she felt about pros initially. Heck she felt about the whole systems. Most of the heroes and vigilantes were showy and some were just anti-social. But she had come to terms with everyone being the way they are as heroes, and that is something that she would have to accept. "So if you don't mind me asking," Mizuki said looking at Kaguya, "what are you blogging about?"
