Normally you would say that everyone that was dear to her would be on top of her list to call when something like this happened, but what if you have no idea where to begin? She had been up not that long ago when her apartment was shaking and she heard the windows rattle, but nothing happened yet. She looked at the clock, it was a quarter past six in the morning, forget your morning rituals it was time to worry about other things, "Kuro?" She made sure her little kitten was okay but it seemed that the rascal had not noticed anything and was still asleep or pretending to do so anyway. Maybe it was just so comfortable to be on a pillow and asleep, maybe she was too busy in her mind to register anything or he did not want her to see his panic or something. She wanted to pat him but quickly was brought to another mind influence and she turned to her wardrobe and put on a pair of jeans over her shorts, wrapped her in the dark blue and grey clothes from her hero outfit. She pulled the first aid kid from her desk and headed out and made sure to knock on the doors of the neighbours and make sure that the elderly that she knew in her building was fine. She never really contacted them but that did not mean that they were not nice and that she did not keep an eye out for them.
Nimue in the year of disaster has learned to be more distant, she cared too much and it brought danger to those people, she would not have that. She had made those mistakes with bringing people too close and it was, of course, a big debate if a neighbour was the same as your ex-boyfriend or your father but those two people, the people she had been closest within Japan had both been killed. The case of Oz had turned into a cold case and she had pushed it away, she was just the ex-girlfriend, she had no need to push the case any further, that would his parents do anyway. It wasn't hers anymore, she had come to confirm it was him, which had already shaken her to the core, so close after her father, she could only blame herself. She tried to forget all, only do much better, be there for the public. Little did she realize that she forgot her phone which was on her nightstand. It probably wouldn't buzz anyway, who would call her at this hour that wouldn't be worried about their own wellbeing?
She looked up when she heard about the epicentre being at the shopping centre, there were houses there, she knew, she had students there. Now that she was dressed as Witch Doctor, she better continue with her job anyway. There was much on her mind and yet nothing at all. She wasn't afraid of earthquakes in the past seven and a half years they had happened enough for her to get over it and not be afraid. It wasn't the time that was useful for that, she was a first responder and that was exactly what she was doing right now, maybe she would bump into Suwa, she believed he lived in Musutafu too. She wanted to continue her job, she had never thought about dropping her medical stuff, she had once discussed if she wanted to stop being a pro-hero for all the risks that were there but she loved her teaching job, she loved that she was able to use her quirk to provide this assistance so in the end, it had not happened. She also had thought it wasn't what her father wanted her to do as a response to his murder. Besides the Oracle was now in prison, it wasn't the same payback but it was something and even though the other prison was broken and people broke out, including the other snob, Nimue would put her best foot forward and work hard. Whether that was fighting in the way she did not want to or do it like this.
Everywhere where people looked dazed and stood on the street in panic, she stopped to make a little talk. She wasn't an earthquake expert but she said it was good to stay out in the open and to take care of each other, to make sure to put on socks and shoes though and that light cuts and bruises should be healed, her eyes blazing a perfect green colour. She was doing the best she could to avoid her own thoughts and to continue in the mindless state and yet the awareness that she always seemed to have to focus on that at hand. She had only missed this power when her father was held hostage, she couldn't think, had not known what to do. She never wanted that situation anymore, it would be the same, she was sure. That's why she had kept lying, her safety lay in the shadows but it only made them have their first fight and while Nimue ran on towards everyone she crossed on her path to the shopping centre, she smiled thinking about Giovanni.
Right before arriving at the epicentre, she realized she had no phone to inform him that she was doing fine. She had gone on an impulse to do what she believed she was doing best and look where it brought her. She walked to a firefighter who obviously got there faster than her and asked if there was anything she could do, even if healing was not necessary, she could be there to talk and help, give blankets to people and so on. At least it wasn't during the blizzard, had they been lucky but still a lot needed to be done, it was a small earthquake but there were enough people that would be afraid of that as well and she pulled up her sleeves to go to work and do what she did best.
