So there was to be someone else taking care of them during their stay at school due to their adopted parents schedule, this took the large, muscled girl by surprise after living in Japan for such a short time. The female still was having a bit of a difficulty picking up the exact tones and words needed in the language, let alone knowing all the things about the culture. This could end up being a disaster from the start, but Jess Circe had to remain calm and focus on the positive. While it was new training it was good practice and had already served her within her life to try and put aside the thoughts that came from her childhood bred and beaten into her. Instead the newly labeled 'hero' tried to cast those nagging fears aside and expose herself to some situations she normally would never dream of for fear of rejection or her own safety, still it was a bit difficult and the summoner hoped the feelings would calm soon. Still regardless of what would end up happening a feeling of joy, excitement and hope would blend together and bubble upward within the very essence of the student who was looking forward to this year, looking forward to the new chapter of her life that she was starting and forging upon her very own. Within her grasp now was a normal life, a new opportunity to move forward in this world truly unfettered from her infernal past and journey on into becoming this new and better person. From her and using her status as a hero if she graduated, Jess truly believed she could help this world and leave a lasting impact of good that would spread out from more than just those in her immediate vicinity and so it was with that in mind that she would be accepting this invitation that had been lobbied to her. Kasey SetsunaWhile the name meant nothing to the odd silver haired hero, The Ketsujo Corporation from her investigation was quite the influential institutions and could probably easily give her a leg up in gathering social connections which Jess imagined would be her biggest downfall in trying to climb the ladder that was hero work. She simply was not bred and raised for such things, subduing villains and saving people would easily be performed but charisma and forging connections was not within the wheelhouse of the young woman in the slightest. The invitation would detail out exactly what was being offered, a housing deal, a bank roll, and side work. It was made expressly clear that the first two did not hinge on the third but the muscle bound Pole figured she would end up doing all three anyways in order to keep busy and grow her reputation as a hero. She also planned on asking this Kasey plenty of things when it came to influencing others as Jess figured that someone with this big a company would know such things and could provide valuable insight for the hero to grow from.
It was still surprising for the eastern European to see such a proceeding as the one that had happened upon her coming from the compound to pick her up. While she had gathered up quite a bit of belongings, including a weight set that would take up a lot of space the most that Jess was expecting from this was a moving van. Thus when a slick black car that was obvious of high worth rolled up the female was taken back by surprise but not as much as when a Semi-Truck hooked up with a trailer rolled up as well. Even more surprising was that men poured out of each vehicle to load up her belongings for her. One man, the driver walked up to her directly and looked up at her from a foot below her eye line, "Ma'am, Miss has instructed me to bring you to your new home-" Excitedly Jess interrupted the man, "Oh goodie, I must be of thankings you greatly for this of a great opportunity for bringings of to me. May you be of popping trunk for me to be of riding in?" the question was delivered with complete sincerity but met with such confusion that a three second pause would develop before the driver replied, "Ma'am is expected to ride in the back of the cab, not the back of the car, it would be most uncouth of-" Again, an excited interruption would occur, "Really? I gets to of be ride in front! I am happiest girl in all of world!" Jess picked the man up like he was a small doll and spun him around in a circle while she excitedly bounced upon her heels. After two rotations she set him down and looked the man in the eyes, "Be of racing you to cab." At this the young woman would take off in a sprint as an odd black being seemingly took her place to stare at the driver with it's one large eye atop it's shadowy body with nary a neck in sight. Unnerved by this the driver did not even move until Jess slammed into the car and dented it before ripping the door open and literally diving into the front end of the vehicle into the passenger seat unlike how she was informed to sit in the back completely missing the point of a having an employed driver in the first place.
All the driver could think during this fiasco was how they were going to explain to their boss, let alone to Kasey how they managed to get the car dented just picking the girl up. Still he would eventually get into the car and Black Hole Sun, the shadowy figure that it was would follow him and enter the back of the car sitting in the middle and keeping his eye affixed upon the driver the entire time as Jess bobbed excitedly up and down within her own seat very eager to see who this benefactor of hers was and how they would truly be. It was a very exciting part and as the car started up, Jess Circe got even more excited than before and the anticipation caused her to want to just run to the place but luckily she knew better and would wait for the vehicles to arrive at their destination where she would get out immediately and begin to scan for anyone who could be named Kasey.

All lives had a value. Truth be told, some people were just worth more than others. To the underside of Japan, crime was brewing. People sold their kin like animals, while others bought them for work until death, or much darker means, including but not limited to consumption. That being said, there was one person who had regularly purchased children, though not for the purposes like the others. She had reformed them, given them a home, and soon arranged them with a family to be on their own life. Outside of her estate, not that much further, was a smaller complex, a small home of sorts were a few dozen of these children and people lived. All of them cared for by the staff she employed. Some, preferred to remain with her, and would eventually find themselves living at the main estate as younger staff. Some with quirks of their own, but most just your average non-quirker. That being said, the staff she had ranged from late teens to sixties. Some varied with honorable people, and other shifty folk. But while they wore the uniform, while they were on the clock, personal matters were pushed aside. All of them were brought there for a reason, and none would dare question the young woman's choices. Taking in another child, at the request of someone else, was not something beyond what she had been prepared. But rather than house her among the others, she had readied one of the other homes around the estate, as well as a few of the rooms in the house. It would be her choice where she wanted to call her home. After all, why would Kasey force her into a place she didn't feel comfortable? Kasey stood outside of the main house, waiting. A hand folded and resting behind her back while a donut lay resting her mouth as she took a soft bite of the remaining half. One of the few dark sprinkles fell down her white dress shirt, sticking to her black suspenders before she brushed it off. A dark skirt with shorts to match, exposing her bare legs, and all of the various small scars and markings that covered her skin. She was a victim of sorts, but she was still, and would always be a survivor. She did not really know of the girl she had welcomed, but they were all the same. Either for a short time, or for the next few years was up to them. The only secrets she needed to hide were locked behind codes and puzzles and guarded rooms in the depths of her home. Places explained early, so if it was to be encountered, she already knew whom not to trust. She reached to her neck, adjusting the maroon bow as she prepared herself, dusting her clothing with her free hand once more as she shoved the last of her donut into her mouth. Though, seeing the car pull up, and the truck behind, she narrowed her eyes. The soft metal lines of the machine's body disturbed with a dent. And looking deeper, another figure in the back. She had accepted one child, not two. It didn't matter. She shook her head, reaching down at her side, tips of her finger forming thin needles as they would all exit her skin, and weaving to create the shape of the desired form. "Why so early?" Setsuna asked, taking his shape. A skeleton of a dog with a large horned skill, the insides between the bones filled with a black sludge looking substance. He set his face downwards, staring at the vehicle as well. "I feel it will be a mistake." His red eyes peared, but could see no answer. The car would slow, until stopping at the entrance. The driver would hastly make his way out of the car, only to pull open the door for Jess. Only he would have trouble with it, now with the dents in the car. A nervous smile as he stared at the woman for help. "What? Is the door too heavy for you, Micheal? You have one job. . . well I guess two. Pick people up. Drop people off." She would sigh, taking a step forward, peering into the back to stare at the figure before Setsuna would leap up, and pull the door open with his own teeth. "I take it you are Jess then?" she would say, smiling and extending a hand to the girl. "Make yourself at home. You and your friend."~ Word Count: 756 ~ |

Was she really going to have not only a room but a house to herself? The very idea seemed to ludicrous to someone who had grown up in a bunker packed like sardines on cots and bunk beds with the other children in the superhuman program that was later shut down when such things were revealed. As such this idea was so far fetched that the silver haired youth had dismissed it outright and was focused instead on the whole experience of seeing someone new and the idea of being allowed freedom to come and go as she pleased. This was enough to satisfy the polish girl who was just excited about the prospects brought to her by this Kasey person.
Those thoughts of course would be purged by the performance of actions within that time, after getting out of the car the quirk bearer would notice immediately the most adorable canine she had ever seen. A bone-dog, something that she thought would only remain in her imagination and crude drawings that she made for her DnD campaigns that she used to run for the other orphans in the orphanage back in Poland. The black sludge looking like something out of her night terrors Jess Circe was completely smitten on first site but luckily was not socially impaired enough to ignore the extended hand that would also happen. While Kasey's words to the driver sounded like something coming from the bottom of a well, her ears refocused immediately when the focus was switched. The glorious lady next to the even more majestic doggie was the one known as Kasey, this delighted Jess who accepted the hand with a surprisingly gentle gasp allowing the other person to dictate the shake out of politeness and the knowledge that she could accidentally make others sore with her hand shakes when she got excited and Black Hole Sun was out.
While this happened the shadowy figure would step outside of the car and switch his gaze from the driver to the dog, then to Kasey and then to the other members on the ground making sure to scout out the grounds and report this information to Jess out of habitual and perpetual itching to know the immediate surroundings that was stored as a deep desire between them both.
"I am the one that is Jess yes, you must be beings of Kasey Setsuna? Is glorious to meet you but I must be of petting your dog even if he bite" Jess spoke while keeping her focus on Kasey the whole time before breaking it to rush over to the one actually known as Setsuna and giving him gentle scratches under the jaw, behind the horns and in any joints that were facing forward. While not having extensive knowledge of animals the girl did know that they lacked oposable thumbs and often had itches or soreness they could not work out on their own. It was the least that she could do for her kin to make up for her evolutionary advantage that she held over them as a steward of beasts. Still Jess would be surprised by the passive nature of the adorable, in a death metal or nightmare sort of sense, canine who she had expected to be more aggressive.
As Jess went towards the summon of the person who had invited her here, the spectral summon of her own would step forward affiing it's eye back on Kasey out of respect and attempting a telepathic commune with the person in front of him. 'My Apologies for her behavior, she may be old in many ways but she is still a child in terms of manners' Black Hole Sun would state glaring at Jess' wide back with a hint of disgust before looking back at Kasey with a happy expression as much as it could express. 'I do hope you find her useful to your endeavors, is it acceptable for me to take position above her on a building when she sleeps? I do not wish to disturb your help' the shadowy summon would extend it's arm and gesture about the grounds that sprawled extensively.
Dressed in a black tank top and wearing black cargo shorts Jess would stand back up and turn back to Kasey and walk back towards the other woman with her black combat boots softly crushing the immaculately kept gravel of the immense driveway on her way. "I am of hoping Sun boy did not give you a scare, he comes out when he is of feeling like it. Now as it is of seeming that your people have been taking out my belongings but are of waiting. Were you not making joke about house? There are so many, I am not knowing of how to choose" Jess looked at Kasey with extreme concern, her thin eyebrows pushing inward and crinkling her nose out of anxiety. Jess had not prepared herself for this fact and was not expecting that level of charity from someone she did not even know, the over six foot tall summoner had no idea how to deal with something like this when the last level of housing she had was a shared room. What could she possibly do with a whole house to herself? The idea itself was daunting and inducing a slight twinge of panic which quickly got shoved back down in order to operate and function decently enough to continue this interaction without giving Kasey a bad impression of herself.
This was her first taste of outside Japan after all, no more books as a crutch to guide her through this foreign realm, no now she had to act on her own and live with the consequences of her actions which was a daunting prospect to her. Jess Circe was hoping to get off on a good first foot with Kasey and hoped that Black Hole Sun had not given her a creepy vibe as she had been too focused on the dog while the telepathic conversation had went down to know what had occurred, thanks to her own excitement over such an beautiful creature.

While her stuff may have sat in the truck, none would dare unload it yet. It was often customary for people to choose their rooms from the vacant options. Red envelopes would represent the options, and when the girl had chosen, they would all set her things within. If she wanted to have her weights or other things in her room, it would all fit, but if she decided to set it beside the small gym they had within, that was up to her. Based on her body type, it would be hard to say for sure who could actually use the same training she went through. But, alas, it was up to her. A soft touch of a larger hand greeted her, and immediately, Kasey had begun to conjure her newest plan. Without Setsuna in her mind, she was able to think clearly, and freely. "I am Kasey, he is Setsuna." she would correct in possibly the nicest way she could. It wasn't like there was any other way to tell someone what you name was. Setsuna on the other hand, would be bombarded with affection from the large girl. "Kasey," his voice deep, like an old aged man. A mystic who had seen too much, and was wise beyond his years. "I like her, can we keep her?" A soft turn as he faced his host. He may have sounded wise, but he was still just a child on the inside. Though, the other figure would step out, and with it, Kasey would understand what she was looking at. Setsuna, would be the one to hear, and thus, would reply to him aloud. "You are free to wander as you would like. That being said, silver doorknobs are meant to be untouched unless opened for you. Golden is for personal quarters. Crystal and diamond are common areas." Simple rules that were easy to remember. The more expensive the knob or handle, the more likely you were allowed to be there. Steel, the unmentioned one, would be one locked to anyone. And with it, housed the man named Sato. "Well, so far, he seems much more well kept than Bubbles." Her twin sister's summon, a dangerously mad being. Though, from the outside was not that different than Setsuna. In a sense, all summons were some form of black matter, that was, excluding the one that housed himself within bone, puppeting it all like a pilot. She would smile, before turning around to the house, gesturing with an open hand and a large movement of her arm to enter. "If you are one to keep to yourself, you may take one of the smaller buildings outside. Though, I would request you do check in from time to time, at least, while the sun is up. Or, you may stay inside with me and some of the others. Though, of course with it, no need to check in as I'll most likely see you anyways." She looked over the large doorframes of the house. For once, she thanked Sato's maddness. Nearly nine and a half tall frames meant that she didn't have to duck between rooms. At least, for the main house. The other buildings could be said otherwise as all of them were build to specific qualifications. Setsuna, when released would make his way towards Kasey before jumping on her back. She would smile, twisting her head as she pulled her hair to the side, exposing her neck. He would bite down, his teeth into her flesh, until he would bond once more, changing his shape to a smaller weasel or fox-like shape, as he would rest around her neck. "Is his name Sun Boy? Or is that a name you have given him?" She asked, both out of curiosity of where the name came from, but also to ensure nothing was spoke incorrect of her. ~ Word Count: 647 ~ |

The dog could talk, oh god, the canine could verbally communicate what a startling and joyful revelation this was, a high pitched squeal of joy far more befitting someone two feet shorter than her would emanate out of the young girl's large body as the hound spoke. What fresh heaven was this that she was now subject to with a talking dog that bespoke it's enjoyment of her, such feelings of automatic acceptance blinded Jess to anything but the current love she felt from such a thing taking place. " Setsuna, does you like of eating anythings of specifics?" Jess would excitedly gurgle mashing the japanese language around like a square peg in a round hole out of her haste and excitement of the idea of feeding the dog. Meanwhile her summon would focus on the essentials, planning to later relay the information to the girl who was now consumed by her focus on a speaking summon, something Black Hole Sun did not find as novel. Wincing at the mention of silver due to his preconceived notion of dislike the black shadow of a creature would nod along while listening to the other summon before responding, ' Never silver, gold if it's Jess' understood.' this telepathic communicant would be relayed with a bow by the figure who stood just a bit above the master whom he served in height and was now slowly, but jerkily making his way towards the group like static on a television screen. In his laziness he had become a bit detached from the avatar that made up his physical self instead focusing on the Serotonin that Miss Circe was currently releasing in her brain from the over stimulation of meeting a talking dog of all things. His focus would re-shift as Kasey stoked his ego with a compliment and the static effect ceased as the figure would bow once more it's eye weeping as it looked down at the ground in a display of humble gratitude, ' Thank you ma'am, I shall try to aim and please your reasonable standards of decor and keep the monkey child off of the good furniture.' Unfortunately for Black Hole Sun this was heard by Jess who would turn away from her current conversation and rush towards the creature, picking him up and bending over backwards slamming the top of his head onto the gravel of the driveway underneath them before popping back up with her momentum and hurling him over the car until he slammed into his maximum range a bit over thirty feet from where he was thrown and hung there mid air before falling to the ground from gravity. " Your mother was monkey" Jess huffed before adopting a sheepish grin, " My apologies I must keep him in line before he gets too uppity. Do not be of worry, I shall check in of course with person who would give such glorious opportunity." It seemed like some of the buildings would not really do as some were built a bit short unlike the main house which was built to a specification that made the muscle bound girl feel, for lack of a better term, normal. As such the Polish born female would choose an envelope that represented the next dwelling that would have door frames suitable, at only seven feet tall from her rough guess across this distance it would do unless she hit a growth spurt like her doctor warned her would occur this upcoming year. The thought perplexed and frightened her, she was already a bit too tall to get a suitable male partner as is. Who would want her if she was even bigger? Still at least it would make fighting as a hero for justice easier so it could not be all bad in the end, sometimes personal sacrifices had to be made in service to the greater good and that was just how it was. Black Hole Sun would peak his head cautiously above the hood of the car he had been hurled over and telepathically say, ' My name is Black Hole Sun, someone stop her from hurting me' the pleading sounded genuine but Jess just rolled her eyes at this not even bothering to look back to justify the melodramatic part of her essence that always acted like such a catty bitch in her opinion." So, what is of catch Miss Kasey? Your letter made it look like there was none, but that does not of make much sense to me, in Jess' opinion she should do some form of work for Miss Kasey to feel less guilt about interaction. Would this be of acceptable to you Ma'am?" Jess would switch to a genuinely humble look across her face after dealing with her stubborn summon and switching to dealing with a person that had offered her so much already and was now making her feel like some form of princess. Her speech was awkward as she stumbled over simple words. Japanese was not something she was fluent in, but something she understood well enough. Setsuna looked over at the girl, trying to peace together what was her true tongue. "Cereal." he would say. "The colorful crunchy ones." Words that caused Kasey's brows to wrinkle at the idea of more people feeding him to make a powdery mess on the ground. He didn't even eat any of it, just chewed on it. At least, in their room, what he chewed, she could at least eat for the both of them later. "Kasey is fine." she would say, raising a hand as if to stop his words, only speech was not something a hand could stop. Though, covering one's mouth, was a different matter. "I don't care what you do with the grounds. If you break it, fix it. If you pluck a flower, plant two for tomorrow. If you rip a seat, stitch it. If you chip a glass, go out and get more." She nodded with her words. "That being said, I'm not going to ask you to spend your money to fix your mistakes. The act of making it right is enough. If you need any funds for whatever means, as long as it is for reasonable reasons, Hain or I will gladly grant you funds required.""Black Hole Sun, won't you come and wash away the raaaaain." he mused to himself, before looking up at Kasey. A blank stare would be all he would receive. "It's a song... it's.. oh nevermind..." He would sigh, resting where he was as the rest of the day unfolded before them. "A price to pay when you bind your life to another." she spoke, though a serious tone. In her mind, summons were nothing more than a partner you were bound with. To get along, was to attain a form of perfection. To be in sync mentally, and soon, physically and emotionally. Both needed to work together, not just to live, but to survive."Catch?" She asked curiously, her mind drifting to fish and spiders, nets and webs. Next a though of if the internet, or interweb was more correct. The idea of a million spiders living in a small box to deliver information, even in phones was amusing. That was, until she understood what the girl was getting at. "If you're good at cooking, you may assist the kitchen, and perhaps Natalia. If you're good with cleaning, then Master Hain. If you're someone good with plants, then Seirei will be your guide. Otherwise, I have no request of you. Though, if Black Hole Sun is going to be surveying the premises, then perhaps having you act as a scout for various people would be helpful. After all, with the bits of media trying to uncover the secrets of the Ketsujo Corporation." Her smile faded for a moment, before walking deeper into the house, allowing the girl to follow a sort of tour. "I never liked the paparazzi." As they headed deeper in, there would be just two butlers walking around, each of them in black suits and white dress shirts. Less of a tuxedo, but an actual suit. One had a bow tie, while the other a simple tie. Both burly men, large, and scars on one face, and tattoos on the other. Kasey would clap her hands lightly, the words from her mouth not Japanese, but English. "Oi, offload them trucks, yeh?" True, England English. And so the journey would begin. Thankfully this time, there was no bodies hidden in a tree, and there would be no landslide to force one into the quarters of another. Curse them damn crossdressers. ~ Word Count: 620 ~ |

The words bound the pact now made here upon this crossroad that would echo throughout all of time stretching from past to future forged within this present. A binding that would tie two souls to an agreement of eternal understanding, such an eldritch deal to make the heavens even shake under the weight of it's divine glory.
Crunch Cereal
Yes, this would be delivered upon for the shadowy dog king to devour and consume for his own decadence, a self indulgent splendor that would be rendered...as soon as Jess went out shopping the next time.
The Pole would commit to memory to drop any honorifics for Kasey and simply use her first name when interacting with the woman from now on, she knew that such things were important for social lubrication and did not wish to upset this newfound friend in any form of function or form. "I shall be of letting you know should I break anything with big body of mine" Jess helpfully chirped back to Kasey before bebopping along with Setsuna who sung in a low tone and cause Black Hole Sun to come out of his own hiding spot spurned forth from his personal theme song. While still at a Jess safe distance the eyeball of a creature would look appreciatively at the hound who by now was sheepishly explaining his actions to the one bound to him.
'Is there another option I wonder' the eyeball thought aloud in response to Kasey's musing on the price of being tied together in such a way. Neither of the two ever viewed it as being any way else, for Jess had existed before Black Hole Sun but she had repressed much of that life by now and was more accustomed to the annoying git more than not having him around. Besides with how much fear the summon actually held within it's own mind it relied upon Jess even more than the human thought she needed him. As such this was a simple jest and nothing more, the two would never separate from each other even if such a thing was a possibility, the codependency they had somehow formed was too ingrained to them by now and it was not as though they both needed to take up the physical plane at the same time nor did the summon require materials presenting a rather solitary life for Jess even with the creature if she was isolated.
Whilst she could cook, cleaning and plants were never something she had to devote time to and as such no doubt lacked skills in those departments and as such the odd girl was far more excited at the prospect that was offered last. "Scout and remove from property if they do not obey demand first time yes?" Jess would excitedly ask eager at the prospect of proving the duos skills of hunting and removal of undesirables trying to gin up some form of rumor of fabrication of their own minds. Jess had indeed seen many of these sorts of magazines on her trip over promising outlandish things and saying the most silly of slander, the young hero thought that justice would be to stop such people from continuing their lying so she salivated at the situation served sweetly to her own self service. No doubt by taking care of these goons she could establish a bit of respect from her newfound benefactor who had so kindly taken her in as well as prevent such people from painting others in a bad light, exactly the thing that was expected from a hero Jess thought to herself in delight at such an idea.
Two men stepped forward, each large but not quite as tall as Jess and each looking even worse for ware from their lives than she did which was quite impressive as she assumed they were not raised to kill enemy combatants as she was. Kasey spoke some gibberish to them and they grunted in acknowledgement before leaving to who knows where. The entire manor itself was an enigma to Jess who was not used to such grandiose places and felt even more over stimulated than before, she would rest well this night certainly. Looking along the walls and rushing to look through doorways that they passed Jess buzzed around as Black Hole Sun dutifully stalked behind the group as was his want. "So Kasey, why would you take in someone of like me? I am of having a bad background and could bring of undesirable attention to your good company. Why take such big risk?" Jess was confused about the whole situation but was determined to understand it better than she currently did, altruism was something she had born witness to before and was used to but to risk this much when one was already worried about undue attention was not something the student understood well enough to process.

Time was a construct. Yet, this single moment played out infinitely. From eons past, and a millennia forward this singular moment would bind a ritual that would occur as often as was possible. As Setsuna reflected his answer, he was sure to get exactly what he wanted. Something, that now, for once in his life, he was unsure if he ever wanted it in the first place. "Some are lucky, where distance does not bind them, but still, life does. While others, distance is the tether, but if one dies, the other remains." he answered, words that Kasey did not hear from the other creature, Only his own answer could be heard, and with it, she left it alone. A conversation she was not in a state to discuss. Or perhaps, her mood was the deciding factor. "An unlucky few, are bound in both states. Truly, pitiful things." Setsuna himself was younger than the girl, having only taken form after a few years. In truth, he didn't really need Kasey. What he needed, was a host. However, with the damage his own abilities caused, to be a parasite for another was not a desire of his. He would see it more fit to stick with someone with similar desires, and one that could endure his choices. They needed not to speak often, for mostly they could just understand what the other thought. In other cases, they knew what the other was thinking, for they shared the mind. But he had seen what she had endured, the gruesome powers of his true form. He was sure that anyone else, even if they had the same abilities that she did would be dead. It was her history, her past that had made her strong. Something that training would never grant his next host. But he feared what would become of him when she was lost. Would he be reduced to a plaything without a host, or would he have to find a replacement for his beloved? "However you see fit, though, a student of UA would not stoop to violence unless absolutely necessary." She held up a finger, taking a step down the halls, past the lounging area. There was much to do, or rather, much time to spent to chose what one thing to do. "If you can deal with simple journalists and photographers who have no regard for privacy, then perhaps given time, I will take you on a trip to deal with real criminals." A promise to show her the ropes, although not legally. But when you had the backing of a real hero, what was the difference anymore? "My former, Master Sato Ketsujo was once my boss. Though, I suppose a story from the start." She spun around, taking slow steps as she walked in reverse, looking down the hallway to see the white haired man named Hain at the end of it. With a stare, he would catch the signal before disappearing. A small order to ready other things by the time they were done. "In short, in my youth I was subject to violet experimentation. My organs were harvested, and my body wounded to fully explore the extent of my healing abilities. A laboratory started by my boss, and later closed when he found out what they were really doing. Though, before it was officially closed, things, went to shit, you could say. That being said, I could easily blame Ketsujo for my misfortune, but instead I now lead it to prevent any such mistake from happening again." If Jess had caught the man, looking from afar, Kasey would offer a finger to point to reinforce his being. Otherwise, it was all words. "That being said, the public has no idea I'm the one in charge, and Master Hain is just a puppet. To them, he is the new Sato, and I am still just an assistant." She smiled, turning to face the first room. reaching out to the golden handle, she turned and pushed in the door, showing the lavish furniture within. All of the pastle colors and silver trim, and hte few stuffed animals made it fit for a child, or at least any youthful person. "First room, feel free to make your choice when you see it and we'll move your things inside, or choose after." She would sigh, standing just outside the doorway allowing Jess to walk inside if she wanted. "There are a lot of favors I owe people on Sato's behalf." A man, rumored to be dead. A man, who some sources claimed to be the former top hero, Darkshine's, father. Even if it was true, and it was, they had no real proof. "I could care less where you came from, or where you've been. What matters to me is where you're going and how you're going to get there."~ Word Count: 812 ~ |

The towering eye stalk would nod along with Setsuna's words as they came from the dog who sounded wise far beyond the years possible for such a species to naturally possess putting the other summon at a natural ease they had not felt before, it was truly odd. Still the was not the main focus of the moment in time spent as soon Kasey would speak of new opportunities which would draw Jess to her words like a fly to honey or a moth to a flame, ensnaring her in the promise of handling criminals directly without the need for bureaucratic red tape or waiting around. Could such a thing even be possible? Well Jess would not have thought any of this was possible thus far and so she was forced by the logical part of her mind to trust in the words and the promise that Kasey had made. " Of course, is why I say only if they do not listen. I bet they will flee like frightened chicken from starving fox." Jess laughed at her own simple analogous joke that she had made somehow delighting in the delivery of such a mundane and plebeian line. Jess would listen intently to Kasey's story that so closely mirrored her own and while she could feel the man lingering despite the sense of irritation directed at him unfurled to Jess thanks to Black Hole Sun being out. Her sixth sense revealed such things to her though it would not be able to pick up subtleties like lies but could pick up any emotion expressed with body language thanks to it's sense over the physical space within it's range of the young girl herself. To acknowledge the man would be impolite as this was quite a personal story to Kasey and the summoner would not disrespect her as such instead keeping her eyes and entire attention upon Kasey as the story flowed from her. The healing abilities was an interesting connection though Jess automatically assumed everyone who underwent experimentation had it worse than she did despite the fact that much of her body was purposefully broken to regrow stronger and faster. " Truly admirable Kasey, please allow me to be of help in any way that I can, Jess was also subject of tests you see. I am certain now that you are of knowing that and is of why you are of taking me in, in first place." A bittersweet smile had crept over Jess' face as she regarded the other woman warmly with eyes that bled an empathetic feel for another, a rare feeling to Jess who often felt disconnected from others thanks mainly to her continued trauma in her childhood. " So you have people think you are assistant in order to avoid more prying of the eyes eh?" Jess mused aloud as she remembered the desire to be free of whatever paparazi was, probably camera peoples from the context of the thing but the Slavic girl could not be certain. This was something she understood quite well and thought the other female quite clever for arranging such a thing noting there would probably be very much to learn from the person who had taken her in, even more than the summoner had expected in the first place. This was another wonderful revelation allowing Jess to enjoy her day even further than she had before, elevating it to such a height that she squealed in delight once again when Kasey showed her the room she was allowed to dwell within. Immediately Black Hole Sun would unsummon himself simply to summon himself back within the bedroom where he would lay in a lounging position on the bed gloating over his ability to get there first. Almost as if to spite him Jess spoke immediately, " No, is of too short a bed, I do a lot of tossings in night" while truthful Jess would normally be too thankful to protest at all in such a situation as this. " Well I would like to be of saying that I am of going to top, and I am going to be of bringing as many people as of I can with me there" Jess would beam at her foolish words that poured out of her so easily, a belief that her summon did not share and was quite childish in ideals as one could lead a horse to water but one could never force it to drink. Elevating as many as she could to the top would result in quite fewer than she imagined in practice, still the student was ever hopeful as was the nature that she had forged for herself after clawing and conquering her past that had tried to hold her back for such a long time. Jess would try to achieve this lofty dream of a goal as long as there was blood still left in her body to spill. [ WC: 819 ] |

Russian. That was the last time she heard a phrase like that. She was no doubt a European of some sort. Though, guessing her language was something she would have to pick carefully. She wasn't English, that much she knew, and that ruled out a few other options. Perhaps German, or another strange place like Turkey. More information was needed, before she would make a move that might embarrass the both of them. Though, with her body, it did rule out a few counties experiments, the ones that were concerned with quirks, rather than physical mutations. Asian was easily ruled out, and her skin was another aid to an extent. If only she could remember the passage she had read... her mind attached to small things, her speech where she had picked to speak in both first and third person. It was understandable to someone who didn't know the language well, but to say your own name, did have a sense of honor and pride in it. Austrian perhaps? Given her build, that didn't seem too far off. If only she had investigated the girl a bit more before this moment. All of it was a blind act of kindness. Would this come back to haunt her later? "It's easier when you legally have two identities." she would answer. "We may go by Kasey and Setsuna, but they were not our birth names. It makes things easy when one account is in one name, while I operate under another. I, Kasey, do not own Ketsujo Corp, but my other identity does. Little things like that, help in my illusion." A smile so wide, her eyes closed in joy. It really was careful planning, and something she was proud of, even if by accident. She had granted herself a name before the experiments, forgetting her past. But remembering it all after the face, gave her two different worlds she could live as the same person. That was, of course, without even touching on the many masks she wore as a villain and a vigilante. Perhaps she too, could have a grandeur story like G. But that would be another time to reminisce on. There was important matters on hand. With a nod, she listened to the girl's request, and would close the door behind them as they left. She would pass by the next few rooms, narrowing the choices before she opened the next room. Bright vibrant purples and greens filled this room. And with it, a larger bed, fit for a king. The dressers and drawers a ebony black, and with it, filled with strange little white figurines. All of them crafted by hand. The material? Bone. "Well, then when you're settled I'll see to it that maybe Army of One herself can help you." a household name, a woman with a spider quirk. Not one that just mutated her body, but housed an endless supply of them inside of her body. Kasey and Caitlyn had their own moments between each other. All of the half truths they understood, but didn't want to confirm. The mother understood who her boss was, and in a way, mentoring the girl was a way to make sure the mistake wouldn't happen again. She needed to be better. Maybe a new student would be all she needed. Or maybe, it would make things worse. Still, she was a friend to RedHorn, and a former partner of sorts. She had retained her ranking as the number six top hero. Something still to be proud of. "That being said, I'll arrange ... a vehicle to drive you to and from school, and wherever you need." her mind drifted back to the dents. She thanked the great Maker that it was just a simple car, and not one of the Prized One Hundred. Still, she would have to see to that the girl had something comfortable to get to school in. The last thing she wanted was to hear a mess on public transportation on the way to the estate. She needed to keep everything under the radar. For now at least. "So," her words began, she had tired of her guessing game. "Where did you come from? Before Japan, that is." and she would soon find her answer. ~ Word Count: 711 ~ |

Having two legal aliases was not something that the young woman had thought of before and pondered the concept of it in her head while Kasey spoke trying to think of the many possibilities that could afford one who strove to travel down that road. It would afford a certain freedom that could not be gotten through strictly legal means, and rules often were put in place by corrupt officials who wished to take advantages of these loopholes so why not somebody else? The logic was sound to Jess who stored this lesson from Kasey very well within her memory. An illusion that would be useful and necessary for avoiding even more prying eyes, extremely sensible for someone who had their trust betrayed in the past. The other woman was thoroughly entrenched as a respected mentor within Jess' mind already from what had happened and this new idea that sprung forth many other ways of thinking than no doubt were the intention in the first place. The smile upon the other person's face touched the Slavic girl's heart and she put a hand over it as she would respond to the words, " That is of a good idea, one I would never have come up with. You are of one of most intelligent people I have been having pleasure of meeting." Her tone wavering a bit as the genuine emotions the words represented poured out along them in a symbiotic symphony. Following the gesture Jess would squeal in delight once more when looking at the room giving away her intention before the words even came out, " Yes this is the one, the bone statues are of delight, and color is very good, oh dear am very excite, much thankings." While she did act like an adult in some ways and certainly looked like on, Jess Circe could get excited in a way only a child could and while she surveyed what would be her new home she was even more over loaded and overcome with emotion. However this was stopped from bubbling up by a question that would form up instead, interrupting the emotion and instead supplanting itself as the priority within her mind. Army of One? What an interesting name, it was a puzzle to guess at now so she simply would ask, " Who is of this One Army?" Without a clue her mind could consider many possibilities that would reveal the truth behind the name and peer some insight into who this person they were going to deal with would be. Already the female hoped that she could leave a good first impression on whomever this person ended up being, as they were an associate of their Benefactor, they must be important. Also due to pre-stated connection Jess would like to have a good report about her actions with the person to be relayed back to Kasey and as such being on good terms with that person would go a long way in helping that occur and not risking something from petty jealousy or spite as could often happen in the world of women, men as well though luckily a lot of them had less emotional control and would often have an outburst allowing for both parties to work things out at the boiling point rather than trying to cap the pot and use the steam generated for some later revenge though both genders did such a thing. Regardless it was of imperative importance that some form of kinship was established with this Army of One for her career here to progress now and thus Jess would commit that to memory as well. These musings were cut short by another question that was levied by the other summoner, it was about her country of origin and Jess gave no mind to it, automatically replying with, " I was of born in land called Poland, I was of stolen from parents and raised to kill enemy in wartime but program was shut down because government find out we were kidnapped. Is not of bad life, but am looking forward to life in this Japan. New branch as saying goes" at the last part Jess let out a hearty laugh before snapping back to lucidity with another question, " Are you of having weights that go above 500kg? That is biggest I was of able to find, while I cannot be lifting of it now, will be lifting soon and need heavier weight to keep up battle ready status. Sorry for odd request, just soothing habit of mine I get from child growth." Jess had a few different methods of coping with the things that happened to her and the scars that she was mending, but lifting was one of the best and most socially acceptable methods and as such it was of paramount importance to Jess Circe. Kasey was not the first to put the idea in place. Many others used aliases. But not all of them, or any of them had obtained documents to back up both identities. Often it was a lie, a fake name. Caitlyn had operated under the name of Itsy Bitsy behind the mask of Army of One. Not like her past was something worth hiding from, but she had a daughter of her own. One that carried her bloodline. She was not going to take any risk when it came to her family. Friends and foes alike. "Well, I made them, I can furnish any of these rooms to your liking if that was something you prefered." she would say, "I take it that even otherwise, this is your selection? Should we move all of your belongings into this room, or would you see it better to have your weights placed along side the others in my small gym?" While it meant others could use her equipment, the probability was low. If anything, it would allow the girl to use larger, and more weights to her liking with much more ease than walking to the other side of the house to fetch weights, and then return after. ". . . a friend. Both of the current Number One hero, RedHorn, as well as family." A smile and a nod, "Not of blood, but of faith." The Manji clan were heirs to the lost texts, and Kasey had been graciously honored with the small peeks at various pages. There was much to be asked, but it was not her place to ever ask for more. Even the few pages she had read, was more than anyone could get in a lifetime without the blood of honor. Even so, the stories of a chosen one, the great spirit, was something that sat in the back of her mind. Something she may never have an answer for. "She is also a. . . " Kasey waved her hand in the air, swirling a finger around until she spoke again, thought not in Japanese. It may not have been the same, but it surely would be much closer to her roots than what they were currently speaking. Tomorrow, she would take time to learn her tongue, and later, the musings lost in translation. She spoke again, this time in Czech. "Doctor. A coroner. A surgeon in her homeland." Perhaps it was enough to put her at ease, if not at least impress her. Even if the latter was not the intended purpose. "In total, I'm sure you can arrange enough. If not, then I'll see to it that tomorrow you will have the weights desired." She would answer the girl, unsure if she had enough or not. It wasn't like she cared to count. Or at least, in her case, even counted. But if she came up short, getting an additional set of weights would be enough to please the girl, while also granting more supplies for her end of things. It was a win for everyone. ~ Word Count: 507 ~ |

Jess pondered this over as she pictured the room in her head, there were a couple additions that sprung to mind but nothing major it was far nicer than anything she was used to having been a poor Polish child and then under Diplomats who kept their spending to a minimum to keep up a good look for the public eye. This was new to the slavic lady but she was extremely excited to have something that she could finally call her own. The second part though was more of a tricky question, while the room was large perhaps it would be best to keep the weights to a personal gym at least for the sake of smell. " Yes I be thinking of best would be to put in your gym, though I do hope does not injure those without Quirk of strength as is of my set for doing with Sun Boy out" Jess spoke very matter of factually, she was very well aware of just how strong she was and the damage those weights could do to the unprepared or the foolish. Why back in her homeland an adult male broke his shoulder from trying to keep up with her curls to protect his ego derived from a macho culture that had popped up among certain individuals within the country. So this Army of One was even of more importance than Jess first thought, just what was this world she was suddenly thrust into? She had expected something quiet in Japan but now it seemed as though she was already rubbing elbows with high stakes players of the game here, the Polish lady was unaware of how to feel exactly other than slightly overwhelmed as she was just fifteen, a mature fifteen but none the less still not yet a legal adult. Jess was aware that families forged by faith were stronger than those muddled by blood alone, cohesion was an important thing and respect was needed, as such the summoner would need to up her standards for herself even higher than they were before in order not to disappoint those around her. ...Czech, Jess could barely understand it but it shared so much in common with the three European tongues that she did know that she picked up the gist of what Kasey just said. ' How in of the hell?' Jess was attempting to think in Japanese in order to speak it better after all dear reader. How did this lady know Czech? Just how many connections did she have exactly, wait was the implication that Army of One was Czech? Jess had better attempt to learn at least a bit more Czech if that was the case, it certainly could not be as hard as learning Japanese but yet another language daunted her, Jess' mind simply did not suit that type of functioning. " Well Jess is of not needing weight set but, airport would not let bring in father's knife. Must get delivered by truck, until then Jess is of needing thing to cut with and feels naked without" her tones would be soft, she was asking for something even more from someone who had already given them so much she could not help but feel guilty despite the fact that such a thing had been offered from implication. " Also, how did come to know Czech? Jess does not of speak but can of piece together meaning as knows German and Russian as well and Czech share some root word" the most childish thing about Jess still was her curiosity and the inability to read a room and pick up on the fact that Kasey no doubt had business to return to. There was plenty of people around to help moving a set of weights. Besides, most would take it apart, and what the girl could do herself, Kasey would have a few men do together. Not to say they were weaker, but having a few do each a fraction of the work, left them able to preform more work overall. All of it, without straining any of them. It would only be half an hour before all of her gear would be set up, the rest of it offloaded and would enter the house shortly. Leaning her head forward, the creature around her neck would lightly press the back of her neck before running off after sliding down her back. He would run down the hall, only to relay a message before running back to scurry back to his host. An act, that would take no more than a minute to preform. All of it while the girl spoke. None of it, however, was Kasey's idea that she had indirectly implied that Army of One was anything but Korean. Surely the girl saw it as an act of attempting to learn the language, with something just as similar. It wasn't like Kasey thought they were all the same or anything, right? As she mentioned a knife, Kasey nodded. As Setsuna would return, his body would begin to fuse with the wound around her neck, his teeth placed again, until he disappeared into her bones once more. She reached up, pulling a long needle from her neck, careful to not make a larger wound than she already had. A thin piece of bone, widened and flattened into a sheet. All until it was folded into a intricate dagger. She pressed her thumb and forefinger against either side of the weapon, all the while reshaping her bone to mimic carvings and other things. Thin pin stripes, and skulls as if it was a day of the dead. A celebration, that for Kasey, was every day. After she was done, the bones would disconnect, before she held the weapon alone. She smiled, and handed it towards the girl, the handle towards the student. "It is not your father's, but hopefully it will still serve its purpose, if not its value." Only after, did she speak again, and with it, a curious question. It seemed that her assumption was close enough, but not what she had planned for. "Russian, I can speak. German I cannot." She would answer, "Many villains speak in code, often as simple as another language. It helps to get a general understanding of all of the World's Tongues. With it, it also aids me with my profession, as well as negotiating with other businesses overseas to ensure Ketsujo gets what it needs." Kasey would look down the hall, the first wave of the girl's things making its way down. She took a step unto the room, resting her back against the door frame. "I can dispose of anything you don't want in this room, or use it to outfit another. The same goes for your belongings. They will bring it all around shortly, and you can pick and choose what you want. If something entirely new is what you seek, then speak with Hain and he will give you some funds to go shop with. If wanted, you can take one of the drivers, or any one that isn't Hain himself. He has duties on the premises, and as his position, it would be unwise for him to. . . well shop without a full staff." She shrugged. "The price of pretending to be me, the people after the real hand of Ketsujo, is after him now."~ Word Count: 614 ~ |

" Jess is of thanking you Kasey for such a gift, will make sure to of keep cherished." Jess chirped at the older woman as she bobbed up and down in place in excitement as she received the knife forged out of bone. The act itself was the most metal thing she had seen since moving from Japan and was just as delighted to see it as she was touched to receive something so personal from someone she already looked up to. Jess was rather thoroughly convinced now that this person across from her was a good person. The only thing of debate was what had made the Polish girl more excited, the knife bone or the summon which now looked like a ferret made of bone and tar darting along the floor. Setsuna was simply too adorable for Jess to properly handle and she knew that one of the first things she would do was get some of this crunchy cereal for him. Czech, Russian, Japanese, and doubtless countless others this other lady was smart as a whip and Miss Circe was rather glad that she was on her side. As Kasey explained how often villains would speak in code Jess would nod along knowing the importance of keeping tabs on ones enemies and giving no thought to the possibility of the woman implying herself to be a villain. No instead in her eyes Kasey was one of the nicest people in the world and she would not hurt someone without dire cause to, of this Jess was now convinced through the kindness shown on this day. Perhaps if she had been older her suspicious nature would have taken over but thanks to not only her convincing herself to trust more but the Councilor at UA doing the same thing at her Psychological Evaluation, Jess Circe trusted Kasey and her summon Setsuna as if they were family, in her eyes hopefully they would become just that. Jess would muse a bit before replying, " Well if ever of need to have German translate in pinch I can be of help." Extremely eager and filled with a desire to help Jess was flinging herself at every option that she could to prove her worth to the person who had taken her into her home and given her so much. Those feelings would continue to build as Kasey extended an offer to buy most anything that Jess could ever desire, it was simply ridiculous how much kindness Jess felt that day and she was overwhelmed with feelings of acceptance and joy. Lost as she was in that the normally observant girl would have been slightly suspicious of all the things but as it was the Slavic woman took it at face value. " Poor Hain, I hope he of gets to have fun of at least sometimes. Jess will be of let Kasey's Peoples know if she of be needing anything and just of may when getting into hero work but of for now she think she has everything she of need but will let know if anything creepy in room." A superstitious girl, Jess Circe would no doubt search out the room for anything that her Catholic sensibilities mistook as inherently evil or cursed which could range from anything such as a certain art style to creepy dolls. Overall though the room looked just as wonderful as the manor which was just as wonderful as the estate which was just as wonderful as Kasey herself, which, yes, was just as wonderful as this day was turning out for poor young Jess who was so unused to such kindness being given to her.
