There was a time when a small part of Sonya Chernova would have been happy just getting by, working as a musician, making her way through life day to day. There was still a glimmer of something bright and hopeful in her heart. There was still something kind, maybe even something good. When did it all go wrong? When did that tiny part of her suffocate and die? When did she turn away from the world as she knew it? She couldn't rightly say anymore. The chilling cold that radiated from her skin was but a reflection of the state of her heart, the condition of her soul. So cold it would turn your flesh to rot. She lived for something more than just herself though; perhaps that was what set her apart. She saw becoming a villain, becoming something more than just a criminal, as a higher calling.
It was a truth that only a few villains understood today. Most were nothing more than criminals who had assumed epithets and alternate identities to justify the madness they were slowly slipping into. Carrion on the ground, mulch beneath her feet, she was more than that. She had thrown herself into the pit of madness. She could see the potential for what villains could become, what they could mean to society, what kind of world could tumble out of a womb formed by her dark passion. She'd seen it in her minds eye and that one motive was all it took to set her on a path of blood, destruction, and domination. Now, in the wake of one of the greatest tragedies in the history of Hero Society, a tragedy instigated and directed by none other than herself, she stands not in judgement but at the edge of the next stage of her story.
With a flick of her hand she gives a silent order to the thug standing at her left; the security guard in heavy soldiers gear frowns and nods, stepping back a few paces. Her glowing pink eyes shoot a warning glance at the security guard across from her and he backs away. The first was hers, the second belonged to the Kobayashi. The gang that swore their fealty to the only villain on earth she held any true admiration for; the only villain she saw as a true rival. Thunder Shock was in this building right now. Irate, broken, twisted, and inflamed by his treatment at the hands of the Plutocracy. His ego likely wounded by the mayhem her actions had brought upon the city. Days of fires and fighting between escaped villains and heroes as the Fuchu Supermax prison's security was breached. Hundreds of quirked criminals pouring out onto the streets armed with weapons provided by Sonya herself.
Not by Sonya...
"Lady Ishtar?" A voice. Her mind returned to reality, she could hear her own breath, a rattling, harsh, mechanical sound through the respirator over her face. Her clothing was not refined as it usually was, no fancy dress of silk. She wore her villain uniform. Her hair pulled back and her eyes at full glow. She turned to the speaker, it was someone from the Kobayashi inviting her inside. Taichi was ready for her. Or at least as ready as he would ever be. He was likely trying to talk his father down at this very moment. It wouldn't work. Not without help. Thunder Shock needed someone to cow him, even just a little, temper his rage with cold facts and a force of presence enough to snap him out of his own madness. Ishtar felt her quirk bubble to the surface, a glitter forming on her skin as she began to shine like a diamond.

It took a lot to put Taichi in a bad mood, the kid usually radiated confidence no matter the situation. The man himself could barely remember the last time he had been in such a foul mood... today however would leave a lasting impression in his mind. This whole ordeal with his father would be impossible for him to forget. The man he looked up to, even before he became the fearsome Thundershock, was broken... over time, he had regained some semblance of sense, but he was still too rash, and much to quick to anger. What made him dangerous now, was that he was completely unpredictable.
The man stood in his father's charred office, his now burnt shirt barely hanging onto his chest, visible burns climbing up his chest and neck. Still, Taichi stood tall, making it seem like he barely felt the pain that had been inflicted on him. He listened to his father bellow at him, belittling him and his decisions, lashing out against his eldest son in pure rage... and still. Taichi remained in his office, eyes squinted as he glared at his father, while still maintaining as much of a stoic image as he could.
"It's not like you to get this upset. You're the one always goading me to take your place as the head of the clan, pushing me to take action against you at any time to create a challenge. As you are father, you aren't fit to lead the clan, so I took my own initiative! You WILL meet with her, and until you get back to your senses, I'll remain in charge of the clan! You know damn well that I'm more than enough of a challenge to your strength, and with you so quick to anger, you'll never win. Look at you, it's barely been 10 minutes and you're already exhausted." Taichi verbally countered his father, bracing himself into a more sturdy stance as he readied himself against Thundershock. All of this was happening inside the office of the underground mansion as Lady Ishtar arrived. While their conversations couldn't be heard, there was very visible smoke and outside damage in that area of the building.
The guard at the entrance would glance b a ck to the mansion as Lady Ishtar arrived... This woman must be absolutely insane to pick this time to meet the boss... There had been more than a little unrest in the mansion since the cage match, and that unrest was definitely felt all across the underground city. It was only due to Taichi and Kanna stepping up that it's citizens didn't immediately evacuate. He let out a sigh as he opened the door for Ishtar, gulping audibly as he closed the door behind her, and whomever chose to follow her inside.
"For a woman, you've got balls miss... His office is this way, Lord Taichi is still inside with him." He informed her, giving her a moment to back out before he would lead the way.

"Right, I goad YOU to take my place! And instead you work alongside you're useless, quirkless sister, and this random woman you picked up in a chatroom?! You don't know a THING about what she's planning! For all you know she's wrapping you up around her pinky finger and using you to probably fuck her way into my clan! I won't have it!! This is MINE, and I won't let some bitch outsider screw it up!" Thundershock growled angrily, the sparks that danced around his body dying down little by little. Taichi was right, it had only been 10 minutes, but Thunder had already converted all the non essential energy in his body into electricity to hammer his anger into his son. Something the Yakuza lord would never do with a level head. His family was his pride, Taichi in particular... had it been any of his other children, maybe even the enraged man would have acted differently... but deep down he knew at least Taichi could take the brunt of his anger.
The two would argue back and forth, with only a few more punches flying between the two before Thunder angrily made his way back to his office chair. He would sit down with the loudest huff, placing both hands on his head as he rested his elbows on the slanted desk. It was by no means the normally pretty sight in this office... The pictures of his family strung up on the wall were now scattered, shattered or burnt... the normally requisite furniture lay in tattered ruins, the lights above them flickering like the beginnings of a horror movie...
"The words that she's using to get you so wrapped up on her wont work on me. She steps foot in here, I'll kill her." Thundershock warned his son who just scoffed and shrugged his elbows. Thunder didn't have the strength to really even hurt Lady Ishtar right now... but that didn't mean he couldn't but up a strong front...

So it was that Ishtar, fortunately, did not hear a word of what was said between father and son as she made her way through the halls of the Kobayashi estate. Had she, she would have found her entrance that much more amusing. He assumed her some bimbo, some whore off the street with a bit of business sense and an ego. That particular mindset was about to backfire spectacularly. Ishtar had a great deal of respect for Thunder Shock and while she knew a bit about his reputation with women she also believed he had the sense to take any potential business partner seriously. Whether she'd be disappointed, shocked, or just plain amused was up in the air.
She arrived at the door near the end of the shouting match; the guard inclined his head at her and she stared at the doorknob. The guard did not move to open it for her; he knew better than to touch something made of metal in Thunder Shock's house while the man was apoplectic. A wry smile crossed her lips; the man clearly did not hire buffoons. She bowed her head once to the guard before placing her gloved hand on the doorknob and pushing it down, turning just a bit and pushing the door open to take in the scene.
The room was...a disaster to say the least. Furniture and walls were blackened and even the beautiful desk centered ahead of her was off kilter from a broken leg. She took in Taichi's state, tattered and worn down by his father's assault. Then, she turned her glowing eyes on Thundershock. She stared at him for a long, long time it felt like. Her artificial eyes refocusing with every variant degree of light that she picked up. She took in his face, the lines, the exhaustion, the rage, the weight of the world pressing down on hm from all sides. She took in his frame, his stance, all of it. He was...
"Disappointing," Ishtar said flatly, her displeasure plain on her face. "You were right Taichi," her head canted to the right; "This is not the Thunder Shock I had wanted to meet so badly. Shame," Her lips formed a thin line on porcelain skin. She seemed to glow like some manner of goddess or angel. Her silver hair fluttered behind her as she drew closer to him. Her respirator hissing with each breath she took. She reached up and grasped the right side of the respirator, unhooking it and letting it fall to the side, revealing her face. She stood before him, before Thunder Shock, before the man who's legend had inspired her to become a villain. Who's tales had spurned her to reinvent the very IDEA of what it meant to be a villain. Who's might she had idolized and envied. Who she had chosen to be her ultimate hurdle toward greatness.
Reduced to this.
Scorn settled on her face; "You are better than this, Kobayashi," She spat, disgusted. "You lay hands on your own son? What happened to your pride? You're going to let a bunch of merchants get under your skin?" | TAG WORDS NOTES

Thundershocks eyes darted towards the door as it opened, his lip turning up into a snarl as he watch this woman walk into his office without seeming to have a care in the world. He removed his hands from his head, extending his left arm and making a gun like shake with his hand. Immediately, a shot blast of electricity shot out from his fingers towards the woman's chest. He didn't pay attention to any armor, whether it would conduct or not. He just knew he wanted this intruder dead.
Hit or miss, he'd then slam his hands onto the desk in front of him, breaking the second leg. As Thunder stood up, any belongings on his desk slid down onto the ground in a clatter around him. Having been so low on energy, he wasn't dumb enough to assume hit hit would kill her, and so he resolved himself to firing death glares at her, taking his time to let his body create more energy so he could kill her later.
"Shut the hell up woman, what do you actually know of me hunh? Don't you dare set foot in my home and call me a disappointment. What happens between my son and I is our business. Now, you've got 30 seconds to get your business out of the way a nd get out before the next shot." He warned dangerously, his eyes now narrowed on Sonya.

The bolt of electricity would have overwhelmed her armor; had he not been in such a weakened state. To be honest; she had expected as much. The condition he'd appeared in when he had fled the scene of the cage match was telling. She frowned at him; her terse expression taking him in as he spoke. It was a threat; one he fully intended to attempt to back up. While she was certain that she could stand toe to toe with him as he was right now; at his full strength, she might be at a bit of a disadvantage. Her hard eyes softened a little and she tilted her head toward Taichi. "I understand you taught your son everything he knows? You should be proud of him," She began.
She canted her head to the right; "Not long ago I cracked open Fuchu. I let loose an army of villains and criminals upon the city as well as freed Meiko Hagane. Heroes are still scrambling to round up the escapees; the media is in turmoil, most of the collective work of hero society has just been undone. I have put Hero Society on notice. But Tokyo is still burning, Thunder Shock, its underworld is in utter chaos. It needs a leader," Ishtar's eyes glowed ferociously; "You. But only if you come to your senses! You are an intelligent man! You know full well that if you lashed out now it would spell the end for your beloved city. You would trigger a war among villain factions that would be historic, yes, but ultimately pointless and wasteful," she sighed; she'd seen him as a goal for so long it was nerve wracking-even with all her preparation-to stand here as his equal.
"Now you have a choice; lash out again and see where that gets you," she added warningly, the glow of her skin intensifying a little, the vertigo the light caused would be very very mild but telling enough. The light faded and she gave him a warm smile; "Or we can sit, talk, and find a better path to take, mm?" | TAG WORDS NOTES

She barely reacted to his blast at all, meaning he was much lower on fuel than he originally thought. Not caring about what she thought of him, the man reached into the crooked dresser of his desk and withdrew a handful of what looked like pills. They could have been any kind of drug from more basic pills, to painkillers, to QED. In truth however, they were nothing but sugar. He popped them all into his mouth and grunted in irritation when the woman chose to stay and speak.
Who the fuck was she to defy him so, to speak of his son as if she knew him... did he finally open up and let in a woman? It was unlikely knowing Taichi... but not altogether impossible. So was that it then..? She was only standing strong because she felt safe being chosen by his son?
That anger with her slowly started to subside however as she claimed to have broken into Fuchu, the prison that had been holding not only an ally, Meiko, but his youngest son as well. Asahi had yet to come home however, so perhaps he had been forgotten amongst the chaos? While his glare on Sonya was still just as intense, he was quiet. Truthfully after the cage match, he had forgotten all about Meiko and Crow... He'd been so deep into his own mind, those two didn't matter to him at all. In fact, very little mattered then.
His eyes traveled to Taichi who was still standing tall, hands up as he was ready to continue the fight, though unwilling to make the first move. As much shit as he gave the boy... why? Taichi was only doing the very thing he urged him too all these years... why did it make him feel so week... he'd suffered defeat before, but none so humiliating... was that it? Was he just scrambling to pick up the pieces? Why did he even care, it wasn't something he'd ever bothered with until he had made that jump to number 1 hero..?
Thundershock shook his head, clearing his vision and mind of the vertigo the slight imbalance of the light had started to cause. Was all that truly his own thoughts, or was this woman playing with him?
"Tokyo belongs to me. If I chose to start a war within it, that's my right and I won't have you stand in the way of any decision I take."
"Father, please list-" Taichi began, only to be cut off my his father raising his hand in his old way of silencing him. Simply showing him his palm.
"That being said... It seems I owe you a proper meeting for taking charge and breaking my allies free. It was something I had planned to do myself before... things happened. I'm warning you woman, I won't be so easily wrapped around your finger." Thundershock warned her seriously as he moved out from behind his desk finally. He stopped short of reaching Sonya before looking over at Taichi.
"Go get yourself cleaned up. We'll talk later. You, come" He ordered Sonya, pushing past her to the charred door and leading the way out of the office. The least he could do was take her out of the busted up room. It wasn't the most sightly room to see when having a meeting. Instead he brought her to the courtyard, a small green space surrounded by the mansion itself. There was no direct lighting here for her to fuck with, and it provided a bit of a kinder atmosphere. If things got serious though and he did end up killing her... well, the gardener would have his hands full.

Ishtar stood still as he regarded her; his rage seemed to flicker and die a little. She'd never used her quirk to calm someone down before, honestly it didn't work that way but for someone as physically tough as this man it was akin to a slap to the face-a quick reboot of his senses. She sniffed once when he began his response; her smile curling a bit. She kept her eyes on his though, unblinking-not that she naturally blinked-and relaxed her arms. The glittering began to fade from her skin when he silenced Taichi. He was at least open to talking then. That was a relief. She chuckled and shrugged, wrap him around her finger? Perish the thought. He got up and she stepped aside, allowing him to brush past.
She glanced back at Taichi a glittering smile on her face and winked at him, spinning once and letting her hair flutter out behind her. She walked in step with Thunder Shock, only staying a pace behind him out of respect as a host. She followed him out of the building and into the courtyard; a bit surprised by the change of location. The light above beat down on her skin and she resisted the instinct to frown. Direct sunlight. She glanced over at Thunder Shock and quirked a smile at him; "You know, it's been a long time since a gentleman attempted to lure me out to a garden, is this the part where you attempt to woo me?" She teased a little, laughing before stepping away and slipping into one of the benches. Her hand reached out for a flower and hesitated, the tingling on her skin reminding her that her quirk was still partially active. She pulled her hand away, lest the bloom rot.
She shot him a look; "Your son was only looking out for what was best. Your anger threatened the balance and he wanted someone to check you, that is all. Do not be too hard on him," She said firmly, crossing her legs. "And before we start don't patronize me with more of that finger wrapping nonsense. For one, I'm more professional than that, two, I prefer the fairer sex," She shot and then let out a sigh. Everything she'd done had been so that there would be no question of her worthiness when she finally met him. She'd destroyed everything that heroes had fought to accomplish for the past few years. Now they struggled to recover. She'd made a name for herself. There was no question. Even those insipid message boards were wondering whether it was her or Thunder Shock who would be number one going forward. But in truth; she'd done it to prove that she was worthy of even standing in the same space as him...
She took a deep breath; "Speak your mind." | TAG WORDS NOTES

"If I had any interest in courting you, woman, I`d have taken you to my room. I don`t play games when it comes to the things I want" He said flatly, clearly objectifying her when she attempted to tease him about how it looked like he might be taking her on a date. There were other offices he could have taken her too, but if the little light trick from before was any indication, he didn`t want her indoors. If either of them fought against one another, it would be much simpler to clean up the garden, then parts of his mansion.
It was obvious that Thundershock had no patience for this woman, he looked both angry and irritated with her, even as she tried to jest then follow up with her explanation for being here. If it could really be called that. She clarified that Taichi only had his best interests at heart, and that make him click his tongue in irritation as he rolled his eyes.
`Yeah that`s what he said too... he`s more interested in getting in your pants than anything... I don`t need help, especially not from you... so shut up and get to the point.` The man thought to himself in irritation, remaining silent to allow the woman time to truly speak what was on her mind. The first thing she said though, caused the man to grunt. Why was it everyone in this day and age was gay? or bi, or whatever? Why did they feel like it needed to be announced all the damned time? If he hadn`t just rolled his eyes, he would have done it again but figured his audible sound of displeasure was enough of a point. Still, he waited. She wanted to talk, best to let her get everything out before he crushed her.
However, seemed as if that was out of the picture... instead she was giving him the opportunity to speak? What else would escape his lips beyond more threats? She had just claimed that Taichi thought this woman could... how did she put it... check him? Was even Taichi so afraid of him right now he needed outside help?
The blonde haired man`s shoulders visibly drooped just enough to indicate that her words had hit a nerve...
`Damn it Taichi...` He continued to think to himself before he would take in a breath and uncross his arms when she told him to speak. Damn it she was irritating... He knew nothing about her, and yet she was able to pinpoint exactly what had him in a mood... He didn`t trust her in the slightest... but he supposed if he spoke too much, he could simply kill her after.
"I understand what my son is trying to do, trying to take charge of the clan while I find myself... pre-occupied. The way he goes about it is what angers me. We do not need any more outsiders, not right now. I`ve dealt with the Plutocracy, and look where that got me? Never, EVER have I been so..." He paused for a moment, his blood pulsing rapidly as the rush of anger flowed through him once more. Never had he been so humiliated, so out of his element. He wasn`t the type to fight head on, not alone... not anymore. After the battle against his brother and father, he surrounded himself with his clan, not only for his own protection, but there`s. There were strength in numbers and he had tried to expand that strength by including the plotocracy... it wasn`t a solid partnership, but never had he thought it would lead to him becoming the star of their own underground fight club. Another deep breath and his gaze would return to Sonya, his blue eyes staring into her own mechanical orbs.
"We don`t need you, I don`t trust you. There`s nothing you could possibly offer me that would change my mind." He then said flatly, knowing nothing of the pact Taichi had made with her, nor the significance it would have on him, and the Kobayashi clan as a whole. Strange though, how this woman`s presence actually served to calm him down significantly, and not because he was after her body... She was careful in her words, and respectful. It just reminded him of the values he tried to nurture within those that lived in his city...

Ishtar tilted her head and gave a coy little smile to Thunder Shock as he flatly objected to the possibility of courting her. She could have kept the joke up and played offense but she really didn't care to. She leaned back against the bench; casting her arm over the top rail and crossing her legs. She kept her eyes affixed firmly on the man before her; eerily unblinking thanks to her long lasting injury. Her lip twisted when he clicked his tongue; she was getting under his skin already? Good. Get that out of your system Thunder Shock. He hesitated; silent; and gave his words some thought. Good. Good. She thought, her head tilting forward, making sure never to lose his eyes. He uncrossed his arms; her head tilted to the right. Manipulation and reading the 'thoughts' of one's foes weren't his game, that was her realm. Yet there was something else on his face... she wondered...
There it was. His rage boiling to the surface again. No, he'd never been so humiliated in his life. The plutocracy had taken from him what he once had. His air of invincibility. For Thunder Shock the world would never be the same; there would always be those that would doubt him, there would always be those that thought him weak and hiding behind a proxy. There would be doubters, haters, and fools. The Plutocracy had lashed out at their own ally after being wounded and had wounded him just as grievously. It was disgusting in how effective it had been. He looked away; she smiled, showing her teeth now-that savage look that showed if just a moment what villain truly hid beneath the veneer of beauty and elegance. She cooled her expression as he returned his gaze to her. Yes, that rage is part of you, don't lose it.
"You're right, you don't need me," Ishtar said, checking one of her heavily manicured nails. She sighed; "You plan on single handedly undoing everything villains have begun to stand for, you plan on destroying Tokyo and taking your family down with you. What could I possibly do to help you?" She chastised him, looking away for a moment before shooting a hard look in his direction. She got to her feet, the look in her eyes was angry; not hate or arrogance. An almost hurt anger. "I pity Taichi and his siblings, having to deal with a man like you," She spat, her eyes hard; "You are better than this," She stated pointing in his direction. "You're right, I have nothing to offer the wretched man that barely dragged himself out of that fight club," She said, spreading her arms wide. "Absolutely correct, spot on."
She paused; "But Thunder Shock? The man who basically invented the word 'villain'?" She said, holding up a finger. "I can give you the resources to finally take Tokyo's Underground. Heavens, you could take the political scene of Tokyo by storm," She said, visualizing it. If he actually showed his damn face; if he played the role, if he had the right public relations... he could be mayor by the end of the year, hell, he could even make his way onto the National Diet. She tilted her head in his direction; "I am not one of those b-villains that crawl at your feet and scrape for favor. I expect things in return; I will not patronize you like the Plutocracy and offer you everything for hardly a thing in return. I have grander designs than Tokyo, than Japan, and the Plutocracy is my enemy..." She glowed, brighter, so bright that the wood creaked beneath her and a few flowers physically recoiled from the aura of death that began to form around her body. The rage faded, the glow dissipated. Yes. She had rage too, Thunder Shock.
"...my hated, hated enemy," Ishtar hissed under her breath, clenching her fists; "I intend to be a part of this new Hero Society, I will not fight it, I will bend it to my will and make it benefit us who stand outside it. I will stand atop it and the people will thank me for it," She breathed; "But I can't do it alone, and you can't retake the underworld alone. I will back you, and you will back me in return. The Plutocracy will wait until you are ready to lash out and then end every shipment of weapons to your people, all the gear, all the supplies," She smiled; "That's how I would crush you if I were them. I've made no secret that I consider you my rival in the underworld, there are members of the Plutocracy who believe I intend to overthrow you as ruler of the Tokyo Underworld. Now while I wouldn't mind the number one spot..." She hesitated and gave him a playful smile; "...I'm not an idiot, you are the rightful ruler of Japan's underworld, perhaps more." She took a breath, exhaling after her long winded pitch and returned to the bench, sitting down and trying to relax. Her heart racing.
"But in the end, it's up to you. You said it yourself, there's nothing I could possibly offer you to change your mind..." She swatted back, daring him, reminding him, forcing him to be the man she expects him to be the man she knows he is.

"Wh- Excuse the fuck out of you." Thundershock immediately responded, his eyes returning to being cold as he also grit his teeth. There was an angry flash of electricity that swirled around him before vanishing into the ground at his feet. Talk about being harsh, and especially when her assumption was so far off! He wasn`t going to go anything against villain society, he was going for the Plutocracy, and the plutocracy alone. If anyone else got involved, then it would be their decision to do so. He knew that his clan was loyal and would follow him to his dying breath, and he was going to use that to...
`what, destroy your family` More anger, this time a thicker surge of electricity danced around the man, spreading out bit by bit. Had they still been inside, surely the light sources around him would have started exploding.
"Shut.UP woman. You have no idea what you`re talking about" Thunder accused her as she went on to pity his children... using Taichi by his first name as if she knew the boy well... how did they come across one another, and how did she know he had other children? Taichi probably mentioned it... What else does she know that she shouldn`t? What really felt like a smack in the face however, was her reminding him of the sorry state he found himself in when he was helped out of the cage match fight with G. That brought his anger back full cowl, and the electricity that had been dancing around Thundershock struck out towards Sonya, though not quite reaching her as he still needed time to recharge. Instead the big man stepped forward, swinging straight forward and aiming to punch the woman in the face if she didn`t move.
However, as his fist approached her face, he came to a sudden stop as she called him by his Villain name, as she turned all of those insults, that weakness into praise and recognition of his strengths. How... how didn`t he see what she was doing? She was pointing out the flaws in the man he was in this moment, she wasn`t bashing his accomplishments over-all...
He remained with his fist in the air as he thought things over. Instead of backing up however, he moved forward again, slamming his fist down into the park bench that Sonya had perched herself on. He didn`t hit her, but he sure as hell broke the bench. This way, the gap between them would be closed, and Thunder was looking the woman dead in the eyes, from a rather intimate distance.
"If you had come to me prior to all of this, I would have jumped on you and this opportunity in a heart beat. As it is, I don`t trust you, or your intentions. No matter the high praise, or the reality check. You want me on your side, you`re going to have to earn my trust, and that means more than just coming here and trying to make me see facts.
Listen here woman, Japan is mine. Not just the underworld, all of it. The Plutocracy can throw every dirty trick they have at me, and it won`t stop me from taking back what is mine. You want to prove to me that you`ll be loyal to this alliance, then do one thing for me. Anything I ask. Do that, and I`ll trust your intentions." He would finally pull back away from her, standing back up to his full height, though not moving too far away from the woman. He knew how to use his imposing figure to his advantage, and even if it seemed it wasn`t working, he knew it would leave a lasting impression in anyone`s memory to have soemone like him towering over them.
`Just who is she... `

His fist had been so close. So very, very close. Certainly; the blow might have hurt a little, perhaps even burst through her protections but the blow would have also been close enough to saturate him in her lethal aura. They were inches from one another; his eyes locked with hers, fatality on both sides-a moment of mutual destruction. Her glow burned around her; a faint aura that likely tickled at his skin and gave a hint at just how much danger they meant to one another. Her eyes spun and danced as they refocused on him. He slammed his fist into the bench, cracking it. Her breath caught in her throat and she hesitated for just a half instant; in her own mind she tried to stem the chaotic mixture of excitement and fear. The madness that demanded she lash out at him, gut him, destroy him, burn him alive and leave him a desiccated corpse. The delight at seeing him demonstrate who he was. The relief, the terror, all of it swirled behind the guise of self-confidence.
He spoke, and her expression stiffened. She nodded slowly; "I don't blame you," She whispered, tilting her head, keeping her eyes on his. On my side? Yes on my side. Mine. He would be her partner. She bore her teeth a bit madly; "Japan is yours? Not yet, but one day maybe. With my help," She retorted, her eyes narrowed, her nostrils flared and she felt the opportunity land at her feet. This was it. Her one chance. She had made her own luck. An alliance of equals with Thunder Shock. This had been her life's goal. This had been her first great achievement; what she had dreamed of. Now it was here. She clenched her fingers to the bench so hard one of her long manicured nails cracked and snapped.
"Then speak your desire, Thunder Shock," She breathed; "Just this once, only this once, your wish is my command," She said, leaning in a little just to tease him. Their noses almost touched. She knew that once she left this place he would stop at nothing to know everything about who she was. He would see her trail of destruction and of conquest through the underworld. He would see what she did to Fuchu. He would see the deaths that were attributed to small time villains, the mysterious murders with the blackened handprints, the small plays against the plutocracy, he would even see the viewing festival. He had the connections, methods, the power. He would know Ishtar. And once he knew, once he understood. Everything would fall into place.
Her head tilted again. She would throw all of her resources at whatever he asked; just this once. Proof that she was willing to go the extra mile for an alliance, for peace, and for her own future. She would give him Japan with a ribbon on it if that's what it took. If it meant that she would take the world for herself... | TAG WORDS NOTES

Oh how much he was going to learn about this woman in the coming days. Not only would he learn of her true intentions, but he would look into every tiny detail from start to finish. There would be no secrets she could hide from him... He wasn't going to let another incident like the Plutocracy happen to him or his clan.
He couldn't deny the racing heart inside his chest that made his anxieties rise. He really wasn't ready to be entering any sort of arrangement with anyone... let alone something this serious. He was really going to have another serious talking to with Taichi... though now that he'd spoken with Sonya, and she had put reason to his frustration he didn't feel as... fired up as he had? Like his thoughts and emotions finally made sense beyond just the whirlwind of rage that he had been since the cage match.
For what it was worth, she seemed to understand him and how he felt. She wanted to help, though not selflessly, as any villain would. She listened to what he had to say, and even agreed to his terms, that she had to prove her loyalty to him before he could actually trust her... That's when the cruel smile finally returned to his lips. He straightened up and crossed his arms over his chest again, his dangerous eyes looking into her own almost as if challenging her to change her mind.
"You're going to get me M.A.R.I.N.E. I dont care if it's a sample, or the whole formula. The plutocracy stole what was mine and mutated it. I want it back. The heroes interfered with that during the auction earlier this year and I failed to get my hands on it. Bring me that, and I'll trust you. You'll have access to the mid-ranked members of my clan if you need them, but no hard is to come to them. So that, I'll work alongside you as you're so eager to do." He stated with a finality to his tone, indicating that it would be a bad idea for her to argue with him. He wasn't stupid, he knew that he was sending her up against the very rival they both detested. It would be difficult for her to do, that was for sure, but it was a task that would settle his thoughts on this matter.

She stared at him for several heartbeats; her eyes wide with expectation. The dozens of lenses in her skull spun and twisted to reorient themselves to the fluctuating sunlight above. She let him finish; lingering on every syllable. So this was his scheme, lay at her feet a challenge that would surely crush the spirit of a lesser villain; of someone not his equal...or better, she thought. She rose to her feet; staring him in the eyes with a smile that bordered on insane. Her teeth bared and her eyes wide and wild she got in his face. She flexed her fingers, bloodlust burning through her veins. She hadn't felt this alive in ages. At last! A challenge!
"If it is MARINE that you want, then it is MARINE you shall have;" She grinned, "I've been eager to get my hands on some myself, a sample to synthesize," She smirked; "Two birds, as they say, mm?" She chuckled and turned away, her silver hair fluttering into the air.
"By the way, Thunder Shock, my public name is Sonya Chernova, but your cameras will confirm that for you later I have no doubt," She said over her shoulder, her eyes twinkling with a hellish delight. "I'll be back with your medicine, dearie, don't wait up..." She said and strode away from him, ready to get right to work. She had no time to dally now; she had her answer, her goal, her objective. Posturing and banter at this stage was for the chattle and the weak minded. She had no intention of wasting his time or her own; there was only one thought in her mind, only one all consuming desire. To have his power, to have his might, and to finally push past that barrier. To become more than a villain.
It was campy, corny even, but the word they used in comic books from ages past was... Super Villain, right? | TAG WORDS NOTES
