“How about we start with a half-wit trial and THEN we think about locking you up huh?” She teased back with a gentle smile, rubbing the back of her neck with a sheepish smile and just generally enjoying the more gentle tone that had formed between them here. It was kinda nice having Red lean so hard into the jokes. Helped her feel okay making them back, and heck, even taking the odd joke or two herself. “Need to use all the evidence first before we put you behind bars. Thoooough… I’m sure a pretty lawyer like me could easily get you off.~” She teased, sticking out her tongue, not ENTIRELY realizing what she’d just said.
In turn as he felt good in making her laugh, the way Red almost jumped at the chance to get her own voice involved in all this was… nice. Made her feel warm, simple as that. She averted her gaze, lowering her eyes for just a moment, not shamefully or anything she just seemed to… naturally flow like that, meeting his gaze again with a bright smile. “I was thinking something more gentle but I can go full banshee if that’s what you want.” She offered with a sly wink and a gentle smile.
Back to his bank account though Yumi blushed a little when he pointed out it couldn’t be in anything else, pouting a little at borderline being called stupid for the question but still. “I-I was just in shock okay that’s a damn high number you’re showing me… though I guess it’d actually be lower if it was in pounds…” She mumbled to herself, letting out a soft groan through her throat of just general annoyance.
Still he seemed pretty gung ho to be living with her so beyond her dumb attempt at a joke she wasn’t gonna stop him… and hey if he wanted the garage she’d just move her cosplay stuff into the spare room upstairs instead. Wasn’t like it’d be too big a change. Maybe just some lighting issues but nothing a blackout curtain or two couldn’t fix at the end of the day. “Yeah, I mean… garage is fine if you’re sure on it. Don’t think you HAVE to though but er… yeah. Probably the most durable room for explosions. Heheheh…~”
As he stepped closer to her and rested a hand on her shoulder, Yumi realized… well she realized before even that her joke hadn’t worked out, lowering her head even as he tried to encourage her, turning it into a joke too where she couldn’t leading to a nervous little chuckle as she wrapped her arms about herself, rubbing up and down her sides. “Yeah I… sorry. Bad joke on my end..” She let out, smiling gently, feeling a little bad for killing the mood a bit but glad Red could fix it.
“Her erm… there’s still a blizzard… you wanna crash on the couch and we can move you in tomorrow?” She stepped aside a bit, the couch wasn’t like… a luxury item, but honestly the fact it wasn’t new and fancy probably meant it more easily doubled as a bed if needed.
