The wind was a biting chill that day, though not a cloud would hang in the sky, the sun in solitude. Perhaps destiny, but it would be Angel Surami that would finally receive her clarion call: a quite literal phone call to Asui Surami’s phone. Haruka kept her request short and brief. A scuffle between a few of the children had finally done in one of the old building’s walls. As good as she was with a set of power tools she needed all the help that she could get. She had mouths to feed, and any number of hands she could get to help would mean she could get back to her job that much sooner. She didn’t really have the money to pay anyone for it right now. All she could hope for was the kindness of their hearts.
Of course, she would not be the one to wait outside for them, she had work to do! If the kids were just going to sit around they would be more useful waiting outside! As power tools rang and whirred inside, several of the older kids and a few of the younger ones that just wanted to fit in with them waited by the street, A few of the younger kids had worn, thick coats around them, while the older ones among them seemed to have gotten the shorter end of the stick, their jackets thinner, and their faces a bit weary from the cold. All four of the younger ones frolicked about in the snow which had been shoved up against the sides of the building, never wandering too far away from the building as they threw snowballs at each other. It looked like only one of the older kids bothered to join in on the fun while a couple of others simply watched, perhaps believing themselves too old for those childish games. It was only a moment after the group started approaching that one of the older ones standing sentinel made eye contact with Leo through the car window, smacking the girl beside him on the shoulder and pointed straight at him. To say the least, Leo recognized almost all of them. All of them but that one girl. Weird as it might have seemed, it looked like the orphanage already had a new arrival so soon after he left. The first of them to approach was Matoru. The kid was just a few years younger than Leo, he tended to cling to whoever had the most clout. That was usually Nezu at any given time, though. His glasses still looked way too big on his face’s rather thin features. He wore a devilish little smile as he got closer to to Angel, Leo, and crew, the new girl following close behind him. “ Well well well! They decided to return the merchandise already?! Figures!” His jokes were always in really bad taste. Honestly Nezu was the only one that laughed at them, and that was probably more in cruel gesture than actual humor. Worse still was the snorting laugh that came out right after. He really did sound like a pig. The mystery girl behind him delivered a swift kick to the back of Matoru’s ankle. It shut him up quick, a string of curses left his mouth as he hopped away from the car on one foot. Most of the little children had noticed by now, a mixture of awe and unease was washed over their faces, directed at Angel and Leo respectively. One of the smaller girls would find the guts to run up, her bright little smile gleaming and her eyes transfixed on Angel’s wings. “ Miss! Miss! Are you an angel?! My mommy always told that there was a guardian angel looking over me are you her?!” A few more of the other children started to approach as well, none of the others with the gumption to get close to Leo. Before any of them would get the chance to speak, however, the muffled sound of a saw ceased only seconds before one of the windows of the second floor would be slammed open. Lady Haruka took the safely goggles off her head, her moderately long graying hair tied up in a bun. “ Hey, you brats! Stop fooling around and help them get their stuff in already! It’s cold!” She was just about to slam the window back before her eyes fell on Leo, a warm, motherly smile danced on her lips. “ And Leo, dear, welcome back, it’s so good to see you again!” Without missing a beat, she slipped her goggles back on and slammed the window shut, the grinding sound of the buzzsaw resuming only seconds later. There was a moment of silence as a few of the younger kids started to shuffle about, looking expectantly towards the group that had just arrived. “ Uhm.” The new girl finally piped up, her voice a bit quiet. “ Hi, my name’s Mushiko an-” Matoru suddenly came hopping back, putting a hand on the girl’s shoulder. “ Don’t let her timid demeanor fool you, Leo, she beat Nezu to a pulp just last night!” His sudden outburst earned him an elbow to the stomach from Mushiko. “ Just shut up already!” Her voice growled with an inhuman undertone, a high-pitched sound quite reminiscent of nails being dragged across a blackboard. They would be able to see it now that her mane of hair whipped around somewhat, the dark blue chitin lightly framing her face and covering what bits of her hand slipped out of her pocket to deliver the blow to Matoru’s stomach. The boy muttered something under his breath about freaks and started walking towards the trunk of the car along with the other kids. Now that they were moving a bit more, it was a bit obvious that all of the children were avoiding Mushiko. “Uhhhh, sorry.... do you have any big stuff? I’m pretty strong, I guess.”

T o say that today was an important day for the Surami family was understatement! The Surami family had been contacted by the owner of the orphanage that their youngest and newest member Leo had been adopted from Ms. Haruka. She called to ask for the family's aid in not only repairing the orphanage, but also entertain and feed the kids and generally make their lives better all around! Once the family replied that they were going to come and Angel convinced Leo to come saying that he should try and use this opportunity to change the other kids perceptions the family decided to run a few arrands to pick up some things for the orphanage. The first stop was the grocery store where they picked up a couple crates of fresh fruit, dairy products, fresh veggies and various kinds of breads and meat for sandwiches and the like. Once that was done they stopped at the art supply store where Rose bought all her art supplies where she purchased a few cases of colored pencils, crayons, paints, canvases and sketch pads for the kids. The family's last stop was at the local furniture store where they purchased a large circular dining room table and a set of chairs which they quickly attached to the car. Once they were done with their arrends the family quickly made their way to the orphanage. Once they arrived and Sue parked the Bentley she looked back at her children with a calm smile knowing that this was a big deal for both Angel and Leo respectfully. "Remember you two this is an important opportunity. Angel if you do well enough work with the repairs and with the kids you could make a partner out of Ms.Haruka for Project Oasis when you become a pro! Leo this is your chance to change how the other children view you and maybe make some enemies into friends. I was thinking that you could help me make everyone lunch while Angel is hard at work with the repairs and Rose is busy with her little art project idea for the kids! We can do this guys!"Once the family matriarch was finished speaking both Angel and Rose nodded and quickly got out of the card to be greeted by four young children, one of which being a brunette with glasses who asked if they were returning Leo to the orphanage. This lead Angel to walk up to the young boy with her hands on her hips bending down to speak to him. "We're actually here to make your life quite a bit easier young man. I would thank my baby brother if I were you."As the youngest looking girl ran up to Angel asking her if she was their guardian Angel,Angel just nodded and spread her wings taking to the air a little for the kids to see as the sun shined off of her wings for a moment as she gave the kids a little spin before landing and using her left wing as a cape in a prince like bow before standing straight and resting her wings flat against her back, but not before plucking one of her feathers. She then crouched down to the little girl's level and offered it to her. "That's right young one. They call me the Angel of Mercy and I vow to protect this place and all who live here. My family and I haven't come empty handed either! We brought plenty of fresh food, art supplies for a fun art project with my Auntie and a brand new table and chairs for your dining room! I'm here to help fix this place up."When Haruka poked her head out and ordered the kids to help the family bring in their stuff, Angel just gave her a small wave as Sue opened the trunk which was full to the brim with groceries and art supplies. Angel then stood up and listened to the shy sounding girl step forward and name herself as Mushiko who the rude boy quickly said beat up another kid. This earned a small frown for just a moment before she walked up to her and smiled as she offered to help carry some of the heavy stuff. Angel smiled down at her and pointed toward the trunk as Rose grabbed one of the first crates which was filled with cartons of milk and various gormet cheeses. " I like a strong independent woman.Would you mind helping my Auntie Rose Carry in the groceries? I gotta get the table and the chairs!"Angel then without a second thought unhooked the bungie cords from the table and without any effort lifted the massive wooden thing over her head with her vast strength. She then looked down at the smallest girl and gave her a playful wink with her right eye which had the long vertical jagged scar under it. "Would you mind getting the door sweetheart? My hands are a little full. Is there a back entrence with a larger doorway by chance?"She then looked toward the rude boy with a small displeased look, but decided to give him a chance. She then motioned toward the trunk with her head. "If you have the energy to be rude to someone who is helping you then you have the energy to grab groceries or art supplies."As Angel awaited her aid Rose quickly stacked two of the smaller crates which contained the bread and the meats and looked toward Leo and Mushiko. "Would you two lovelies mind leading the way to the kitchen? I'm not quite as strong as Angel."Seeing her family get to work Sue gave all three pecks on the cheek before grabbing her purse from the car and quickly heading inside and up the stairs to meet Haruka who was hard at work. Once she arrived she pulled out her check book and wrote a check for 108,085.00 Yen or the equivilent of $1000 American dollars which she quickly cleared her throat and offered to Haruka. "Ma'me, I would like you and the orphanage to have this donation from my family as thanks for helping us complete our family unit. We love Leo from the bottom of our hearts and we want to help make this place the best it can be. I was also wondering if I could have a moment of your time to talk about a buisness venture that would not only benefit you,but my daughter and every child here as well as the children of the world"

Leo wasn't looking forward to returning to the orphanage to say the least, and felt insulted that he had to return there to help with repairs and refurbishing. Couldn't they just take care of it without him? Why did he have to go? He visibly pouted and sulked before he was finally coaxed into joining the other three by being told that he could probably change the perception that the other orphans had of him. "Tch… Fine, I'll go…" He grumbled and reluctantly got changed into all black along with a studded choker and a black leather coat. They went and got a lot of groceries and art supplies from a few stores that he had to help load into the vehicle before he completely spaced out on the way to the orphanage.
Once they arrived, he just lazily cocked his head to the side with a bored expression on his face and he was already annoyed to see that Nezu and Matoru were already there to attempt to pick on him verbally, again. The only thing preventing him from rolling his eyes out of exasperation was the new girl that seemed to remind him of himself when he was just attending the orphanage; quiet, reserved, not openly drawing attention like the others. Leo didn't really respond to Sue other than a nod and got out of the vehicle right as he was approached by that little shit Matoru. Honestly, if he wasn't such a rude jerk and actually a decent guy, I would ask him out on date; especially with that...cute face with those glasses...and that soft-looking brunette hair...and those soft lips and tender nape... Leo pondered to himself internally while he was forced to pay attention to Matoru taunting him, but it wasn't until the girl kicked him in the ankle that he realized that heat was rising in his cheeks and he immediately panicked and got angry at himself while gritting his teeth as he scurried over to the trunk in an attempt to hide his face. SHIT!!! NO, CALM YOUR GAY ASS DOWN LEO!!! He screamed at himself internally and sweat a little nervously on his brow. Wait. No one saw that, right? He asked himself internally as he glanced over to the others suspiciously before sighing to himself and waving to Haruka when she greeted him.
Leo let things happen as they unfolded with Matoru hinting at Mushiko's strength before she shut him up with an elbow to the stomach, and it hurt him emotionally to hear him mumble something about freaks; obviously referring to beings like himself and Mushiko. He thought those words wouldn't bother him anymore, but they did and they cut deep as he spaced out again as his eyes fell to his shoes with a furrowed brow. "Yeah..." Leo said after Rose broke him out of his thoughts, and he picked up both crates before leading Mushiko and Rose to the kitchen, where he softly set down the crates and glanced at Mushiko again sympathetically. Everyone was avoiding her because of her strength, and he hoped that she wasn't getting demonized and picked on like he did. At least she could hold her own against those morons, so Leo supposed that was good.

Angel's flourish earned her a few claps among the younger ones, and especially the laughs of the little girl that had come up to her before. Her speech seemed to fall on a few deaf ears, either too enthused by her performance, or, in the case of the older child, seemed to think that it was a part of the theatrics, earning from him a slight giggle.
Matoru for the most part completely ignored Leo after his rude comment, either unaware of how the words still hurt, or he didn't care. Knowing him, it was likely the latter, maybe both, he practically trudged along to make sure that he would be at the back of the line, if the small blob of children crowding around the trunk could be called a line.
Mushiko had to stop and think on Angel's words for a few seconds, confused, no, just taking her a bit longer than normal to put all those pieces together. Was this girl really hitting on her? They just met! Mushiko's cheeks flushed only the slightest of pinks, her eyes quickly dodging away from Angel's feat of strength after her less-than-subtle positioning. "Uhm, yeah, I'll uuuhh... I'll get a few bags."
The children would only grab a bag or two at a time, quickly managing to put a dent in the practically overflowing trunk. Mushiko hung out towards the back, wary of scaring the kids, maybe, or perhaps it was keeping her distance from Matoru who also insisted hanging out in the back so that he could have the lightest workload that he could manage. He shot a few glances to Leo, but didn't bother to say anything more. He let out as he grabbed a meager two bags. As he started to pick himself up, Angel would be quick to call him out. He clenched his teeth. "What do you think I'm doing you hopped up bird?!" He would shout at Angel. His frustration was palpable. He was always the lazy type, to be completely honest, but he was quick to pick up a few more bags after. Matrou seemed to bite the inside of his cheek as he huffed his way towards the entrance to the orphanage.
"Okay!" The little girl was more than willing to help out Angel, in fact she seemed downright excited to. She dropped her little bag of canned food right there by the entrance to pull open the door for her new friend. It wouldn't be the little girl that would answer her, though. "The back door is actually smaller than this one." It was the last of the older children, probably as plain as could be as far as appearances went. He gave the girl a slight shrug.
Mushiko didn’t seem as depressed at Leo given Matoru’s words, instead she wore a slight scowl on her face, somewhere between annoyance and genuine anger. “Has he always been like that?” She would ask Leo picking up quite the number of grocery bags in her arms, mayhaps ten or so, without any apparent strain. She followed right behind Leo, and spoke up again, loud enough to make sure that Matoru could hear her. “You know, I can’t tell if he’s trying to hit on me or if he’s just trying to get on my good side so I don’t beat him up too.”
Matoru shot Mushiko a spiteful look, even still, it looked like he blushed just the slightest bit. “How about you shut up?” The boy ahead of them scoffed at the idea of it perhaps trying a bit too hard to dismiss Mushiko’s claim. A smug smirk formed on the bug girl’s face, the nefarious ideas practically flying through her head, but she stayed silent. She was going to make sure her petty vengeance was drawn out as long as possible. Her groceries clunked on the table, taking perhaps a wider berth than she had been expecting as she was forced to keep readjusting so that a few bags wouldn’t fall off the moment she got her arms out of the maze of handles. She met Leo’s gaze again and cocked an eyebrow. “I guess you’re the guy that they were telling me about?” She eyed him up and down, curious. “The way they talked about you I thought you’d look more like a monster.” She didn’t keep idle for long, taking the items out of their bags and tentatively placing them on what open space she could find nearby, still unsure of where things were supposed to go. "So, uhm... I know this might be a bit touchy but..." She tapped a few of her chitin-covered fingers against table, not sure what words she wanted to say. "How'd you put up with this for so long?" She looked back to Leo again, or really more to the side of Leo. "I've only been here a week and this place sucks."
Haruka was still hard at work, the sound of her buzzsaw rang throughout the entire house. The room that Haruka was working in looked practically destroyed, the wall was shattered, wooden splinters and drywall powder coated the floor. Haruka seemed to be hard at working cutting some measured wooden planks, likely to give the damage a simple patch more than actually repair the wall. Sue would likely need to clear her throat a few times to get the headmistress’s attention. “Hmm?” The older woman didn’t say much while Sue gave her little speech, she merely nodded, and took the donation cheque. “Oh my.” She took her goggles off to get a better look. “This is quite generous of you, Surami-san.” She neatly folded the slip of paper and put it into her pocket. “This should just about cover the cost of the damage. Thank you.” She would give a slight frown at the mention of a business venture. “I didn’t really start this orphanage to make money, I’ll have you know, but my ears are open.”

A s Angel followed the smallest girl toward the main entrence she decided for the time being to ignore the bully Matorou. She would have a nice discussion with him later on,but for now she had to get things squared away with the table and chairs. To that end Angel reached the entrance and decided to crouch down as another young lady told her that the other entrance was even smaller. Angel would just have to make this work for them all! Angel with a twist of her couched body slowly and carefully moved the table inside careful not to hit anyone with it. She then slowly put the table down in the center of the dining room with a big grin before turning back to the smallest girl and the girl that had spoken up before while crouching down to their level. "Thanks for the help little one! You sure are speedy! I bet i'd lose to you in a race for sure! I never got your name? What about you young lady? How long have you two been here? Talk with me while I grab the chairs!"Angel then motioned for both girls to follow her as she headed back to the car as the others headed inside. Once outside she would stack three chairs in two stacks each and set them on her shoulders before heading back for the dining room making sure not to go to fast so her newest little fan could keep up. "What do you two do for fun!? I'm training to be a superhero!"Meanwhile in the kitchen Rose got to work unpacking the groceries and art supplies as she listened to Matoru and Mushiko tease one another with a playful roll of her eyes and a giggle on her breath. That was until Rose heard Mushiko complaining about where she lived and then asking Leo if the rumors about him were true. Rose could see not only had Leo been treated pretty bad here, but things were not that pleasant for any of them. When she finished unpacking her first set of bags she walked over to Mushiko and Leo and put a hand on Mushiko's shoulder lightly. "If I may young lady let me tell you something. It's not a person's appearance that makes them a monster, but what's in their heart and how they let it define them. I know you think it's horrible here, but you could be much worse off. My niece Angel and her mama are from a place far worse then this and had to put up with a man that is more of a monster then anyone I've ever known. Take it from this quirkless aunt that you don't need a super power to cause real damage. That collar and broken chain around my niece's neck? Let's just say those aren't just for show. I promise you though that we are here to make sure that never happens to any of you."Rose let out a soft sigh before playfully ruffling Leo's hair playfully before looking toward Matoru. "Sweetie can you please help me get some of the parishables? i don't want them going bad!"Rose then quickly headed outside while upstairs Sue sat down next to Haruka with a kind subdued smile as she listened to the woman say that she wasn't in it for the money. To this Sue nodded and decided on how to sell her daughter's dream. "Neither are we ma'me. As you know my daughter is training to become part of the next wave of Pro heroes to keep the world safe. That's not her only dream however. She would also like to create and found what she calls Project Rebirth. What that is,is a combination orphanage and youth center created not only so more children have a place to live, but also so that at risk children who are both quirkless and have quirks that are hard to manage in day to day life have somewhere save to learn about them as well as teach the at risk or unwanted feeling children new skills to not only help them better themselves, but also stay out of trouble. Our hope is to bridge the gap between the quirkless like us and those with quirks like my daughter and end the bigotry."Sue then paused before reaching into her purse to pull out a large sheet of design paper which she unfolded to show an expertly drawn campus with four large marked buildings,a basket ball court, a generic for now statue in the center and a garden. The buildings were marked Orphanage,Youth center/recreation area, library and Angel's home. There was also a secondary page on the back that showed designs for the interiors minus angel's home for the library, youth center and orphanage. The library was nice and spacious with both clearly defined sections for children, young adults, adults and a studying area as well as a meeting area. The Youth center had clearly designed and defined floors for things like sports and general hanging out on the bottom level, baking and cooking the next level up,art and music on the level above that and even a self defense floor with room to expand. The orphanage was similarly sized with several floors with living areas, a common space and places for cooking and family time. Once the designs were spread out Sue would offer them. "it would be completely non-profit except for the fact that if someone wanted to go beyond volunteer work we would give them a paid position if they met certain credentials. My daughter and my sister plan to work together to fund, design and have it built and my daughter would live on campus at all times to protect the children. The only problem is that my daughter will also have hero work to do which leads me to my proposition. I and my daughter would like to invite you into a three way joint, paid full partnership and ownership of Project Oasis. We hate to see the kids have to live the way they do and I know you do to. Upon it's completion every child here would be gladly welcomed over to it along with you. My daughter aims to be the world's new pillar and symbol of love, tolerance and support. Will you join us in creating that world?"

Leo could feel his own eyes roll from Matoru's comment, it was all he could do to refrain from flashing his eyes red at the boy. "Yes, you have no idea." He muttered with a low grumble of exhaustion in an answer to Mushiko. Fortunately, he wouldn't have to do much talking because it would seem that his sister and aunt were quite interested in carrying their own conversations with the children. He simply figured it would be best if he kept quiet and didn't speak up; that way, he wouldn't have to deal with the ensuing chaos that was bound to happen at any time now. He also wasn't paying much attention to when Rose ruffled his hair, but he did listen to her request to help her with the perishables before they spoiled unceremoniously.
He would then start helping his aunt bring the perishables inside the kitchen from the vehicle, and just watched everyone else like a hawk. The vampire then went on a whim and motioned for Matoru to follow him to the lounge as a way to get away from the others. Leo was entirely under the assumption that Angel was going to scold him in more than one way, but he would only have this one chance to say his peace with the boy before it was already too late. The raven haired boy then sat down in a chair after motioning the brunette to sit in another chair close to him. Leo then closed his eyes and knitted his eyebrows sagely in thought as he tried to decide on how to interview this troublemaker. "Now..." Leo started as he opened his eyes. "Tell me honestly, from your heart; what do you want from this place? What would make it better, in your opinion? Also, what kind of relationship do you want with Mushiko, and what kind of person do you want to become, Matoru?" Leo said softly to the brunette so that he wouldn't he wouldn't be overheard from the kitchen while his eyes met with Matoru's without fail. It was blatantly obvious that Matoru liked Mushiko, but he needed Matoru to reflect upon himself and be honest with himself for once instead of going through the motions at the time.

" Really?!" The little girl was exhilarated to learn just how fast she was! " I'm Natsuko!" The young boy that had spoken up just moments before let out a single chuckle at her responses. He didn't think she was addressing him at first. He had never really been mistaken for a girl before, but there was a sense of embarrassment that welled in his stomach as soon as she ordered him to follow her. " I'm... I'm a guy." His retort was quite sheepish, and he stood shocked for a moment, Natsuko quick to run right past him and ahead of Angel as fast as her little legs could carry her! It took a moment for him to come back to his senses, but he would jog back to the new duo's side once he did so. " I'm Tadashi, by the way." If there were any chairs left, Tadashi would try to take a few of them as well, but he was only able to manage three. " Well, uhm, on the weekends like this I would usually go to the arcade with a few of my friends from school. Get some food. Watch some uTube.... honestly not that much now that I think about it...." Meanwhile, little Natsuko did her best to run around Angel's legs to show her new hero just how fast she really was! She got in front of Angel and ran backwards for a few steps. " I like to play hide and seek!" As soon as she answered she turned on a dime and stuck her hands out like an airplane! She would quickly dash up the entrance and starting hopping in place after holding open the door. " Do you wanna play a game with me?!" " Hah!" Tadashi would respond before Angel could answer the girl. " Don't fall for it," At this point the boy would start to shuffle himself through the door, " She doesn't have any bones, she'll just hide under a tight space you'll never think to look. Like under a dresser or something." Natsuko puffed out her cheeks in a show of anger. Try as she might to look angry and intimidating, it only managed to have the opposite effect. " Taaaddiiii! Don't tell her my secret!" She rushed in right after, the door slamming behind her. " I'm telling mama!" " Wha?" Before the boy could really do anything, the girl started stomping off towards the stairs for the next floor. " Well, uhh... Sorry, my sister does that a lot." Tadashi would start to shuffle step in the direction Natsuko had run off from. " I'm gonna stop her before she annoys Haruka-san?" Though he didn't say it, he thought that Angel might try to stop him for some reason, and unless he did so he would start to power-walk towards the stairs as well.
Mushiko clenched her teeth as she noticed that Leo's mood became even more sour when she mentioned the word 'monster.' Big mistake, obviously, that dejected answer? Yikes... She might not have meant to but she just burned that bridge before she even crossed it. " Sor-" Before she could finish her apology, she felt a light touch on her hand. It felt just like her mother's touch. So many memories came flooding back to her. She wanted to cry, lash out at the memory of that narcissistic excuse! Mushiko was quick to start moving her arm to slap Rose's away, but was just as quick to restrain herself. Her three-fingered, chitin-covered arm slowly limped back to her side. She dejectedly turned around and sat herself on the table to face Rose. She chewed on the inside of her cheek and rested her head on her hand, looking away for a but a moment to watch Leo not really pay much attention to the scolding that she was going through. " Ugh," She responded, " listen, I'm sorry, but I honestly thought it would be cool if he walked in and was, like, a blood-drinking demon-looking guy or something." She let out a defiant huff before talking again. " Look," her tone voice was much more meager this time around, " I get it though. I don't know what that girl's gone through but my parents were pretty shit, too." Her head drooped the floor, and she stopped talking. A single tear fell from her face as Rose took Leo and Matoru to go unload some more food. The single tear, would be all, though. Years of not being allowed to cry in front of others had trained her to just turn her emotions off. Pulling out her phone, she would make her way to one of the bathrooms nearby to shut herself in for a little bit.
Haruka passively continued to listen to Surami-sama, nodding along as she spoke out of respect for anyone willing to donate to to the noble cause of orphanages. She took the draft page quickly and gave a simle. " Hmhmm. I used to work in construction, you know. Been a while since I've seen one of these." She flipped the page around and gave a quick glance to the other side, " Started right after I got old enough to move out of the house." The old woman started folding up the parchment again while walking towards the nearby window. " Got out of it when I was about your age. Wore me down until I couldn't lift anymore. I had to leave for my own health." She stared at the skyline of the city beyond, putting her hands behind her back. " Worked for the government some after that. Had a friend not far from here back then. We could walk there in a few minutes. You probably passed it on the way here. Her name was Mei." Haruka paused for a moment to take in a deep breath. " Everything changed when she met a man named Takahara. Didn't hear much from her after that. I didn't think much of it. Friendships just drift apart sometimes, you know." She paused again, the memory bearing heavy on her soul. She pinched the bridge of her noes and forced herself to keep going. " You've probably heard about the 'Blood Disaster,' I take it?" She wouldn't wait long for a response, if one was given at all. " I saw the results myself, I had to clean my friend's mangled corpse off the floor. I quit my job that day, cursing quirks and whatever god decided to give them to us. I used to be a sad old lady." A tear ran down her face, but she would close her eyes and smile, turning around to face Surami once more " It was a dark place I'm glad I drug myself out of." She would take a moment to wipe her eyes clear. " Not every one is like me though, not every one can forgive something like that." She approached the woman and gave the draft back to her. " It warms my soul to know that there are people like you and your daughter that want to heal those many wounds." The both of them would be able to hear a set of footsteps coming right up the stairs, the old woman's gaze snapped towards it quickly. " Kaaa-saaann!" Little Natsuko's fist was rubbing her eye, wiping away a fresh tear. Haruka bent down to catch the girl in her arms and lift her up into a hug. " People are afraid that pure souls like little Natsuko here are to become the next Manami Takahara." She gave a the little girl a kiss to her forehead before speaking again. " What's wrong child?" " Tadi-san told the angel girl my hide-and-seek secret!" Haruka's eyes seemed to pop out of her head as she just managed to stifle a bout of laughter. As this happened, Tadashi would finally make his way upstairs, he cringed a bit as he saw the mistress of the orphanage hugging his sister, but he didn't say anything just yet. " Oh? Is that so. Tadashi should know that it's not nice to tell his sister's secrets!" Haruka would tenderly place the girl back on her feet, lifting her head to pierce her stare into Tadashi's soul. The boy started to back up a few steps. " Well, it seems that Tadashi will be cleaning the dishes again tonight, doesn't it?" " Oh COME ON!" With a groan the boy would stomp back downstairs. " FINE!" The little girl would turn around to stare up to Sue. " Hiya! I'm Natsuko!" Haruka would rub the top of the little girl's head and ruffle her hair up a bit. " But they don't realize the more they reject people like her the more they fulfill their own prophesies." She would pat Natsuko's head a few times before placing her hand back to her side. " Run along now, child, I told you all not to come up here for now, remember?" " Oh! Uhmm..." The little girl gave a bow to Sue before running off to join the rest of the children downstairs. Haruka sighed as she stood back up and matched Sue's gaze once more. " If it works out, I'll do it, but I won't stop running this place until I know that it will."
Matoru was quick to seize an opportunity to stop working for a bit, placing down the bag of perishables without even bothering to place them out properly, though he wouldn't bother to sit down as he was motioned to, he kept standing in front of Leo, looking a bit uncomfortable. He wasn't about to place himself so close to the guy that flung Nezu across the hall right before he left! He was ready for it, though, the scolding that he thought was coming, all those years of treating Leo like shit. Yeah, deep down he knew he deserved it but he wasn't about to make himself look weak and apologize for it. The barrage of questions that followed took him a bit by surprise, if he was going to be honest. "Urgh... Shit, man." He crossed his arm and looked up to the ceiling. "I'd like my parents to come back and just get me out of here for starters." He sighed and let his gaze drop to the floor. "Really, though, I don't really know I came in here too old to get adopted, you know that." He'd finally take the seat that he had been offered before. "I want an actual family, not this damned hole Haruka's going to wear herself down in... I wanna be normal." He seemed pretty down about what he just said, but he couldn't help but smile when he thought about Mushiko. "Heh. I might be too young for her, but I've been thinking about it and I like the idea of a girlfriend that could kick my ass."

A s her two newest fans followed her both outside and then back in Angel made sure to listen carefully to their names and what they liked to do. Both seemed rather normal in a world of super humans. One liking to hang at the arcade and the other liking to play hide and seek. That was when young Tadashi revealed young Natsuko's quirk of not having bones and being able to fit anywhere which caused Angel to raise an eyebrow and smile as that showed quite a bit of potential. Before Angel could answer however Natsuko ran off to tell the headmistress that Tadashi had told on her. Once both ran off Angel quickly followed and remained silent as the punishment was given out of having to do the dishes. Once that was done Angel nodded to her mother and knelt between the two children, looking at Tadashi first. "I want you to consider something young man. For some of us who have quirks it's easier to keep them hidden in order to keep from being persecuted. It's like if you were gay and somebody outed you to your family before you were ready because you were afraid of what they might say. Next time it would be wise to consider if that person is alright with being outed."Angel then gave Tadashi a firm squeeze on his shoulder before turning to Natsuko and playfully ruffling her hair with a gentle almost sisterly gaze and smile. "As for you young one. Don't ever let anyone make you feel ashamed for being born with a quirk or even for not having one at all if that was the case. Quirk or not every individual is special in their own ways and in those ways they have powers all their own like empathy for others or just being able to make someone who is sad happy by playing a game like hide and seek with them. Though if what Tadashi said about your quirk is true I see great heroic potential in it. Being able to fit into anywhere could have great information gathering or spy potential. I suggest that once you get my age you consider enrolling in U.A. Who knows maybe one day you could be my sidekick."--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Haruka spoke about her past Sue smiled sweetly at her as she took Angel's drawn up plans for Project Oasis and seemed to consider them rather openly which was nice to see and hear. Sue watched and listened silently as Haruka continued to tell her story of having worked in construction until her body could no longer do so. She also lamented the loss of a friend named Mei and how she lost contact when that friend met a man named Takahara and then she asked if Sue had heard of the blood disaster. To this Sue nodded as her throat caught a little as if a lump had gotten stuck in it. "I remember it quite vividly. It's part of why my former husband started his vile crusade against quirks and those who had been born with them like my daughter and those who loved them like myself. I know all to well what fear can do to some people. he single quality that is common across every living creature on this planet... is fear. She paused for a moment before continuing after taking a deep breath. "It’s funny then, that as common as fear is... we so easily underestimate its power. Fear of growing close to someone, a subsequent fear of loss, fear of failure. And as more people depend on you, those fears can take on greater power. But fear itself isn’t worthy of concern, it is who we become while in its clutches. Will you be proud of that person? Will you forgive them? Will you understand why they felt the need to do the things they did? Will you even recognize them? Or will the person staring back at you be the very thing you should have feared from the start? I swear to you as a mother of a future hero that we will stop at nothing until this dream has become a reality. My daughter and I have suffered far to much to let her dream die I also promise that every child here will be welcome with open arms and so will you."Sue cut herself short as the three children her daughter included came in. Sue then watched with a proud smile as Angel did her best to both console the children as well as inspire them. This led Sue to smile back at Haruka. "It is my daughter's mission to fight against that bigotry, mistrust and fear to bring about a world where both quirkers and quirkless can live together in harmony. That to her is what it means to be the Angel of Mercy."As the little girl introduced herself Sue turned her attention to her and gave a little wave. "Hello Natsuko,i'm Sue Surami. I'm Angel's mother. It is nice to meet you both very much. Do you mind if I continue to talk to your caregiver? I promise we can play hide and seek later!"It was nice to hear that Haruka was on board if Project Oasis did in fact get off the ground. Sue just nodded as Angel began to escort both kids back down stairs. "Come along you two, It's not safe up here for you right now. Maybe you two can show me your rooms! I could sign a U.A. poster or something if you have one!"Angel then leaned down to whisper in the young boy's ear. "Don't worry I'll help with the dishes."------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Rose came back in with the rest of the bags she saw that young Leo and young Matoru were beginning to try and hash things out like adults and so she decided to leave them too it now that all of the groceries were inside. As she walked past them however she heard crying coming from inside the bathroom and so she knocked gently recognizing the voice of Mushiko. "Mushiko sweetie? Are you alright? It's me Rose, may I come in and we can talk about it?"

“Uhhh.” Why was someone coming in and reading so much into his jest? She literally did it to everyone, he would have said something similar whether or not his little sister had a quirk or not! “I...I don’t think you understand what’s going on here! She literally tries to do this all the time. She would have outed herself to you on her own after ten minutes stuffed in some drawer, honest.” Either way, he seemed a bit dejected. He stuffed his hands in his pockets.
Should Angel be paying at all attention, she would notice Natsuko sticking her tongue out at her big brother in mockery. The way things were going there was a good chance that this wasn’t the first time she had gotten Tadashi in trouble! But she was quick to right herself, taking ahold of her brother’s hand as soon as she noticed Angel was focusing on her. Her eyes were bright and beaming as usual. Oh, how happy she seemed at the girl she was certain was a hero was telling her that she could be one too!
“Tadi-san! Tadi-san! See! I really could be a hero!” She poked his leg a few time and the boy put on a fake, sad smile and hugged his little sister tight.
“I never said you couldn’t, Natsuko.” He ruffled her hair before the lot of them started walking off. “You know what, you’re going to the best hero the world’s ever seen! Okay?” Tadashi stuffed his hands back into his pockets and blankly stared down the hallway. “Can you promise me that, Natsu-chan?”
The little girl would get in front of the both of them and vigorously nod several times. “Yeah, and I’ll show you for telling Angel-sama my secrets!” She took off down the hall and took a hard right down some other hallway a few seconds before peaking right back out. “My room’s this way come on!”
Tadashi, on the other hand, would let out a belaboured sigh, and then sniffle it right back in. “Oh, sorry… allergies. Ha hah.” His lie and laugh were clearly fake. Something heavy was on his mind but he kept himself resolved, unwilling to talk about what he was feeling.
Natsuko’s room was one obviously shared by several others if the flanking bunk beds were anything to go by. There were four small toy cubbies, each labeled with a different name. There was a single heroic poster on the wall dedicated to some older vigilante whom Angel didn’t recognize. The poster’s colors were faded, showing its age. It looked like it had been there a while, probably not the possession of one of the current inhabitants.
Natsuko was quick to climb up her bed post and hang from the railing of one of the top beds by literally tangling her feet around it. “This one’s mine!” Her finger quickly pointed to the cubby of toys. “And those ones with my name on them are mine!”
Haruka would wait a few moments, making sure to keep a smile on her face until the kids were a few steps out of there. She sighed before stretching out her hands for a few seconds. “So, dear, is there anything for me to sign?” Should there be anything, she would, of course, sign it and hand it right back to Sue.
“Well, my arthritis is going to start kicking in soon, so, what say you we start getting ready for lunch?” The old lady would give Sue a big toothy grin. She wasn’t one to take breaks on her own will, but should someone else give her the permission she wanted? Well, she was all for that. With all the groceries they had brought she was certain she could make something delicious for the lot of them!
Mushiko wanted the tears to stop, she couldn’t let anyone else see her like this! She couldn’t let anyone hear her like this! She was supposed to be one of the strongest there was! She bit down on the sleeve of her jacket to give herself permission to let out a muffled wail. The moment she heard a knock at the door she stopped and scowled. Stupid! How could she have let someone hear her like this!
“I’m fine. D-don’t come... in…” Her voice started out tough, but wavered when she tried to bar Rose from entering, like she wasn’t so sure of her own answer. Of course, she wouldn’t do anything to stop her should she try.
Mushiko was sitting on a closed toilet seat. For this restroom was really quite cramped. The phone in her hand had a picture pulled up, a selfie of her and a guy dressed like punk rockers, both of them had what looked like a cigarette in their mouth at first glance, but on further inspection would seem to be a joint. That was a different time, obviously. The girl's hair was much longer now, for one. She tried to slip the phone back in her pocket before she thought Rose had noticed.

A ngel quickly realized by listening to Tadashi's tone when speaking to her and his sister. She also noticed how the young girl also stuck her tongue out at the brother as if she enjoyed getting him in trouble. As they walked down the hallway Angel made sure to fall back and gently place her hand on the boy's shoulder and give it a light comforting squeeze as she heard him tell his sister that she would be the world's best hero and then force a smile while sounding like he might cry. This told Angel that she still had a bit to learn of the pairs story and so as they entered the young pairs room and she began to show off her toys Angel sat down on the bed and patted the spot next to her for him to sit down next to her. "That's all fine young one,but I fear I may have scolded your brother without knowing all the facts. I think the three of us should talk for a minute. Could you come over here for a moment little one?"Angel kept her genuine smile, but knew that there was some sort of rift between the siblings and if she could do something about it then Angel would do her absolute best. Once the young girl joined them Angel looked at both siblings with a gentle smile. She needed to pick her words carefully because not only as their elder, but as a future pro hero she needed to do her best to help them before it was beyond repair. "While what i said about not sharing other's secrets was indeed true little one,it's also not right to try and get your brother in trouble for something he didn't do. I can tell that he loves you very much, but you need to take his feelings into consideration too like he does yours. I think he has something he wants to talk to us about, but doesn't feel like he can without judgement. As his sister you wouldn't just or make fun of him for his feelings or something he feels is important right?"Angel got off of the bed and knelt down to face Tadashi respectfully with a reassuring and kind smile. "This is a safe place and your sister and I are here for you. What's on your mind Tadashi? I can tell when a smile and a happy gaze aren't genuine."------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Meanwhile Sue smiled and shook her head as Ms.Haruka asked if their was anything for her to sign. She then put away the plans and tucked them back into her purse for the time being scooping it up and offering Ms.Haruka a helping hand to her feet with a smile similar to her daughter's own smile. She then listened to her say that they should probably get to working on lunch for the kids. To this Sue nodded with a mother's smile. "Nothing to sign as of yet. My Angel still has to graduate and get hero license before everything can be finalized. Once that happens however we'll get to getting all the proper paperwork which will include a joint partnership document that you can sign making everything official. How about for lunch we do something a little special? We brought a bunch of bread and fresh ingridents so why not have a make your own hoagie sandwich night? Something simple yet lets everyone have what they want! Do you want some help getting downstairs ma'me?"------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rose hearing the pure heartbreak in Mushiko's voice telling her not to come in broke her heart. The girl seemed so strong, but even the strongest hearts needed a chance to let down their guard. Despite the girl's order not to come in Rose gently opened the door and saw young Mushiko sitting there crying and without a second though Rose dropped to her knees and just hugged the sobbing girl close and used a hand to rub the back of her head. "It's alright sweetie. Let it all out. There's no shame in needing a good cry. Everyone needs to let themselves feel even the strongest of heroes."Rose then cupped Mushiko's face in her hands and wiped away her tears with a soft smile. "I may not be a mother or a superhero, but I can listen and try to help you all I can. I promise that unless you tell me I can or it's life threatening I won't share whatever you tell me. What's gotten you so out of shape?"As a show of trust, Rose reached behind her and shut the door and locked it so that the two could have some privacy. As she tried to comfort the crying girl Rose couldn't help but think back to the nights she stayed up with her sister and her niece as they both dealt with the trauma of being abuse victims. Rose didn't have any special powers except for the power to listen and if that's what this girl needed Rose would do her absolute best to calm the storm in her heart.

" I can listen up here, though?" The girl continued to swing back and forth ever so slightly, staring right into Angel's eyes. Meanwhile, Tadashi would place a hand on his neck and a look towards a nearby wall. " Uhm.. nah, really. It's fine. let's just forget about it, okay?" With the instinctive grace of a trained acrobat, Natsuko would slip out of her perch and land sitting on the bed next to Angel. She didn't know exactly how to say it, but she got the sinking feeling in her gut that something was wrong.
Her head hung at the girl's scolding words. She sounded more like Haruka than the hero she claimed to be. She would do her best to not look neither Angel nor Tadashi in the eye as she received her verbal scolding. The girl clasped her hands. She knew what she did was wrong, but the fact that she was getting called out on it made her feel weighted down even more.
"I'm..." She didn't want to say it, admit it in her own words, so she would say it quietly, just barely above a murmur. "I'm sorry Onii-chan..." SHe wouldn't really react differently to the rest of what the girl had to say, keeping her solemn and dejected look about her hoping that she could get a grain of forgiveness from the girl that she just started looking up to.
Meanwhile, Tadashi was nearly frozen in anxiety. This girl, that smile on her face. He couldn't say it, not to Natsuko. His fingers wriggled about while his legs felt like jelly. Sure, she realized that there was something on his mind! He wasn't really the best at hiding it, but he couldn't say yet! He couldn't handle it yet himself. He wished it was a lie that would just reveal itself one day, but the truth was just as cold and hostile.
"I..." Tadashi looked towards his sister, who gave him an ashamed sideways glance. One of the boy's hands formed into a fist, his nails digging into his own flesh, but not enough to make himself bleed. He didn't bother to finish what he was about to say. He sighed and gave a sad, longing look to his little sister, and then a glance to Angel. He breathed in as if he was about to say something, but he couldn't bring himself to mutter a syllable. Calmly, Tadashi would turn around and leave the room.
"Psha!" Was she really getting that old? Oh, how time really did fly! The old lady placed her hands on her hips and flashed a devious smile Sue. "Honey, if anything corralling all these kids is going to make sure I'm fit enough to see a hundred!" She started to make her way towards the stairs without much issue, grabbing on to one of the handrails she had to install a few years ago for her own sake. Ahh. She wished she could have the spry steps of younger years!
"It's worse in my arms... Doctor says I should have a bit before I need to get a cane." Her steps down the stairs were a bit stiff and slow, but she could make it down just fine without any help.
"You know something just struck me." The old woman didn't look towards Sue, assuming that she could continue the conversation on her way to the kitchen. "What was that word before? 'Hoh-gi?' Is that some kind of American thing? I've never heard it before."
Mushiko struggled to control her breathing, to force herself to calm down as Rose entered. It was honestly a useless gesture, a tear rolled down her face right as Rose walked in. The sudden show of love gave her pause, and with it, went her control. It was shameful how easily she let her walls be broken, but she couldn't help it. She thought them made of stone, but they were really made out of weak papier-mâché.
The tenseness in her muscles faded, finally realizing she wouldn't be punished for her open signs of weakness. For the first since she was a child she had been given such a motherly embrace. She was slow to return the gesture, as if she had forgotten exactly how to give someone else a hug.
She rested her face against Rose's shoulder. Her cries were mere sobs at first. "I... I just w-waaahaaa!" Her hug probably gripped Rose a big harder than she would have been expecting, but it wouldn't be enough to actually hurt the woman. Mushiko would try to muffle them against the caring woman's shirt
"I-gyuuh-! I just want my parents baaahhaaack!" Again, the girl would cry and incoherently babble for a good while before she could bring herself to speak again. "I-I-I-I don't care if they were bad people!" She pulled herself back a bit, her red, blood-shot eyes met Rose's own, the gir's tears leaving her shirt noticeably damp. Her hands moved to Rose's shoulders and locked them in a painful vice grip! "They were the only ones I ever had! I don't care if they were villains!... I don't care if they beat me up! They made me strong!"
For a moment she stopped, suddenly realizing what she was doing. "I'm sor-" She cut herself off, looking at her own, chitinous hand, tears welling up in her eyes once more. She had done it again already. She told herself she'd never do something like that ever again after she through that boy through a wall. "I'm not strong... I'm a monster."

H ow had Angel not seen it before now!? As she listened to the young girl apologize to her brother leading to Tadashi freezing up after turning to look Angel in the eye. How had she not seen the signs before!? The eyes of a person so close to breaking due to something they kept inside! What ever he was afraid of telling them was filling him with such anxiety that the young boy instead of facing it ran out of the room causing Angel to jump to her feet. Before she ran after Tadashi she went over to the young girl and gently hugged her and gave her a small gentle pat on the head. "I'm proud of you for knowing when to apologize. That's a sign that you are maturing into the hero you wanna be. We have to recognize our mistakes and then learn from them. For now I want you to stay here. I need to go check on your brother. I'll be right back"Without another word Angel with a burst of speed rushed out of the room and quickly caught up to the young man quickly cutting him off by getting in front of him. Instead of scolding him for running off,the young woman just hugged him gently close to her wrapping her wings around him like a security blanket. She could feel the pain he was in and although he wanted to keep it inside Angel knew more then most how much keeping in that kind of pain inside could eat someone alive. As she held Tadashi close Angel looked down at him with a small yet worried smile. "Tadashi I know you want to run from whatever is causing you pain, but the sooner you confront it and face it head on the easier it will be to lessen it and make it fade away."Angel then got down on her knees in front of Tadashi so that she was at eye level with him. "What is hurting you so? I know it has something to do with your sister by the way you looked at her. What's going on?"-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As her elder put on a brave smile, struck a pose and told her that keeping up with the kids would help her live to 100 Sue couldn't help but giggle. She may not have had her daughter's super strength, super speed or ability to fly,but the quirkless mother did do her absolute best to keep up with both her daughter's and her sister's constant flow of energy and upbeat attitudes. It was a challenge that was for sure! As they started down the stairs Angel just smiled gently. "You're a stronger woman then I! It takes all I have to take care of my super powered daughter and keep up with my energetic quirky sister! To be able to take care of an entire orphanage of both quirk having and quirkless kids takes true strength that's for sure! I hope I'm still as strong and able as you when I reach your age! You have my respect ma'me."As the caretaker said that it was worse in her arms and that her doctor said that she had awhile before she needed a cane Sue just nodded. Sometimes she couldn't help but envy her own daughter and her super abilities! It had only been two years, but her daughter was already almost strong enough to lift a car above her head! Sue would just have to do her best to help her elder the best she could. "Angel may be busy with her school work and training and my sister may be busy with her art career, but I'm always open to take up a position here full time if you need the extra hands. You don't even have to pay me because my sister makes way more then we need to live comfortably. Anything to help you and these kids."As the caretaker asked what a hoagie was Sue went quiet for a moment as she tried to think of how to explain the American word. It took a moment, but Sue snapped her fingers as the somewhat perfect explanation hit her! "It is indeed an American thing. I learned about it from Angel's first girlfriend Farrah. Apparently it's a type of sandwich called a sub where you build your own long sub out of fresh ingridents so that everyone can have something different if they like! It's perfect for large gatherings or households that have differing tastes. It can either be somewhat cheap or fancy depending on the ingredients you buy!"For just the briefest of moments as they reached the bottom of the stairs Sue's voice went from her usual calm, reserved and proper tone to that of a more similar tone to her daughter's or her sister's showing how excited she was about the subject at hand. During her time as a free woman Sue had gotten into the hobby of cooking and learning about the different types of food and cultures of the world which caused her to blush. "Sorry! I really enjoy talking about the different foods and cultures of the world. It's a bit of a passion of mine."-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Mushiko finally crumpled into Rose's arms the young artist just held the young girl close and let her sob her eyes out. Rose knew that in a world of super heroes and supervillian's that this kind of baggage could exist thanks to how she witnessed what both her sister and her superhero niece went through with their former father and husband. As the young Mushiko finally began to speak through her cries she listened to her say that she wanted her parents back and that she didn't care if they were bad people. Through this young girl's words and how she was clinging so tightly to Rose herself she could truly feel the young girl's pain. In a moment of mother like affection Rose just began to stroke the back of her head and hold her as close as she could kissing the top of her head to try and show the young girl that she wasn't going anywhere. That's when the bomb dropped! This young girl had gone through similar abuse at the hands of her evil parents that Angel and Sue had gone through. This revelation caused Sue to sit down on the floor and gently pull Mushiko into her lap like a true mother would and like she had seen Sue do with Angel whenever the young girl's P.T.S.D. flared up. Rose wasn't a mother, but for this young girl who needed her in the here and now she would do her absolute best to act as one. "My sweet sweet Mushiko,What they did to you..what they put you through wasn't a show of strength. Those were the actions of people far more weak then yourself. I'm sure you saw the metal collar and broken chain around my niece Angel's neck? That's not a fashion statement, but a remnant of her own time as a victim of abuse at the hands of her own father. He beat her and her mom, made them believe they were worse then nothing and even tried to take away Angel's wings all because he was jealous of how special they are. Angel freed herself and her mother and now both live with me."As the young girl pulled away and Rose saw the insect exo skeleton type shell begin to cover her arm Rose's face showed no shock or the slightest hint of revoltion, but instead a smile of understand and a slight shake of her head as the young girl called herself a monster. She then just held open her arms in a welcoming manner. "You aren't a monster sweetie. You are special and unique and in my opinion that should be celebrated weather you have a quirk or not. I won't tell you weather or not you should use your power because that's not my decision, but i do think you shouldn't be ashamed of it because in my eyes it's just one of the many things that makes you beautiful."Rose then went quiet for a moment while keeping her arms open for the young girl before smiling at her. "I know I may not have super powers or be able to lift cars over my head,but..if you'd like I'd love it if you joined our family and came to live with us. I promise you will be loved, protected and provided for the rest of your days. You won't ever have to worry about being hurt ever again. What do you say sweetie?"

Tadashi didn't even bother meeting the girl in the eye. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, and tried to move around her, testing either side to see if she would keep blocking his way. He sighed when his efforts proved unfruitful. He got a bit closer to her so that he could keep his voice quiet that Natsuko would not overhear from her room.
"She's dying." He would leave it at that, walking around Angel now that he had finally fulfilled the little task that she had been pestering him for. He looked her once more with sullen eyes, those painful eyes before continuing back down the hallway. "Happy now?" His words carried with them a hostile bite that hadn't been there before. Several thoughts ran through his head at once, many of them rude. He couldn't blame her, though. Haruka or Leo should have said something before they busted down the door and turned the day on its head. Everyone knew, really, it was an unspoken truth that laid in the back of many minds at the orphanage. Mostly the older children at least.
"She's too young to know, okay?" The tones of voice had caught Natsuko's attention, which seemed to have strayed to a few of her toys after Angel had left her for those few moments. The girl peaked her head outside of the room and slowly started approaching Angel and her brother.
"To know what?" She asked, her face seemed a bit worried, but this hadn't been the first time she had been told something like this. She had a devious smile on her face, as if she was about to dig into some big secret that had been kept from her for years! It didn't bother her all that much anymore, but she hoped that one day someone would spill the beans!
Tadashi's expression took an immediate 180, the scowl that had been directed towards Angel had suddenly become a brotherly smile. "It's nothing to worry about, Natsuko... Hey! Let's go help get dinner ready, alright?"
"Ah!" The thought of food seemed to wash all the worry from her face. The girl gave her brother a few vigorous nods as she ran to his side. Unless Angel did something to stop them, they would make their way to the kitchen. Her excitement was partially faked, of course, but she knew her brother must have had his reasons. With one last look back, Tadashi would give Angel a sad, pleading scowl.
"Oho! So it's like Pot-luck!" Haruka smiled at the thought. "They'll know exactly what to do then!" She leaned a bit closer to Sue so she could keep her voice where the kids wouldn't be able to hear her. "Between you and me, it's how I trained the older kids to take care of dinner on their own!" She was just as soon to back off, wiping the wood-dust off her hands on the front of her shirt.
"Don't apologize, girl. I don't mind talking. First thing I learned running this place was how to keep an open ear."
The couple would be stopped for a moment as Tadashi and Natsuko came walking out of the hallway. He stopped for a moment, realizing what he had just done. "S-sorry, Miss Haruka," but he would stay not a second longer, and quickly drug his sister along with him to the kitchen.
"Hmm. He's in a hurry." She took a glance down the hallway in passing, and smiled at the site of the generous Angel. "Ahh, Angel! Good to see you again! How's Leo been adapting? Good, right? I've not had the chance to talk to him yet! Wonder where he's run off to... Bah! We'll see him at dinner!" Should Angel allow her, Haruka would embrace the girl by the shoulder, bringing her into a sideways hug.
"But... but." Mushiko's body fell limp in Rose's embrace. She had given up on trying to fight against her feelings now. "I..." Her arms fell to her side, and she buried her head into the woman's shoulder once more. She'd rather not face reality anymore. The darkness was empty, soothing to the touch. "But I hurt you." She stopped for a moment, her tears starting to flow once more, but the pangs of woe and the throes of sorrow did not show themselves. "Why? Why would just accept me like that?" It didn't make sense to her in the slightest. If it was her parents she was never strong enough. If it was the group she used to call friends, they loved her for all but her freakish strength. There was always something wrong with her. Something that they couldn't handle. Why?
She waited a while before she gave her answer. She tried to think on it, to ponder on it, but she found her mind blank. It felt... weird. A part of her mind wanted to accost her for not helping one of the younger kids here, the ones that would never get adopted, not her, the girl that would be of legal age in only a few years, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She could only give the slightest nod and a quiet "mhm..."
"Can-can we just..." She didn't know how to ask her own question. By all means, her tears should have been done with. She shouldn't have been sad anymore. Everything was good now, right? Why did she still feel the tears welling up? Why was that pit still in her stomach? She raised her hands to embrace Rose in a gentle hug. Her body lurched a bit as she sniffled. "...I'm just... tired."

T adashi's words hug in the air of the hallway as if a nuke had been dropped on Angel's heart. It took the young girl's entire force of will to not begin to silently tearing up right then and there though it was clear that part of her had been deflated by this news. As Tadashi called upon his sister to go to dinner Angel listened silently as he told her that she was too young to know. This just caused Angel to nod as she allowed the siblings to walk past them and down in the kitchen. Angel waited a few minutes before following them silently. She would silently help Tadashi get the food pot luck like meal ready for everyone to form a line to make their sandwiches. She only looked toward him once with saddened eyes and said two words. "I'm sorry."------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As Angel helped prepared the food,Sue nodded excitedly at the idea of a pot luck and using it as a way to help the older kids fix their own food. As the siblings bumped into the two however followed soon by Angel Sue took notice that all three looked rather distraught which silently filled the mother with a bit of silent alarm. Something had happened between the three, and it was something rather large. Sue decided that instead of trying to pry any further she would leave that too the head mistress of the orphanage take care of the situation while she went and set the table. As the elderly woman went to hug Angel around the side Angel allowed it and wrapped a wing around the two of them so that she could whisper quietly and rather sadly to her. "I know about Tadashi's sister. I swear as the Angel of mercy that I will do all I can to make her days comfortable and she will have the finest funeral and head stone. If I can I'll try and get the pro hero Witch Doctor to use her quirk to try and buy the girl a bit more time, but i'm afraid that without knowing the extent of the cause of the illness I can't do much more then that. Give my mom all the information all you can before we leave."Once Angel gave the head mistress this information she lowered her wing to rest it flat against her back as she got to work finishing preparing and then lining up all the ingredients for the kids to use. Angel felt sad that she couldn't save this young girl's life, but at the very least she could give her an honorable death, that befitting a hero. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile Rose held onto young Mushiko as she sobbed and asked why she would give her another chance even though she had hurt the woman. To this Rose just pet the back of the young girl's head to try and sooth her while smiling gently down at her. She knew the pain that abuse could cause. Mushiko was in for a long road of recovery, but now she wouldn't have to do it alone. "That's because it's what real mothers do sweetie. I'm here for you. If you'd like we can wait to eat until everyone else has cleared out and then we can get the paperwork ready and signed."As Mushiko lurched into her as everyone sat down to eat Rose just smiled and held her future daughter. "That's alright. Rest up sweetie. We have all the time in the world!"
