G let out a sigh of relief when he heard that Kai has no fever. "Thats good" but then why was he crying. Maybe he wanted a bath or extra attention?
As Hana helped wash Kai, G noticed how Kai cried a lil less. So it was working, but still why was he crying. Hana was on the brink of tears herself. He needed to do something!!!!
And thats when he got an idea as Hana asked if they should call the doctor, G asked another question which is probably their solition. "Hana...when do babies grow teeth? Is it possible he is crying simply because of that?", maybe it was that and Kai just felt uncomftarble with those teeth growing. Maybe he needs to bite and chew some stuff like rubbery toys?
It made sense. Their baby was like 6 months old... more or less 6 months old. Babies start growing their lil teeth around that time, right? And by process of elimination, that HAD to be the hidden culprit. It wasnt a fever, it wasnt poo poo, it wasnt hunger and he was getting all the love and attention needed. The only thing they hadnt considered was baby teeth!!

Maybe the whiny little cries broke her heart even more. The fact that they could not calm him and that he might have gotten tired from crying is what really made her upset. But he had no fever, the bath seemed to be something, but it did not work and that made her upset. She tried to drizzle some of the warm water over him, making cups with her hands and one by one throw it over his shoulders and arms so he would be nicely warm, as G held him still she poured it a little bit over the back of his head and his little black hairs. She tried to laugh to him, say oh and cutie sounds but it was obvious to the man she married, that she wasn't happy about it.
She hummed softly trying to shush their little one, it felt mean to do so as she still couldn't find the reason for why he was crying, "Huh?" She said and looked up at G, "Teeth?" and she looked back at their little boy. T-t, oh. She turned shortly to G and asked to keep an eye on their little boy, which was obvious as he was holding the baby and she dried her hands and ran to their bedroom to grab the book from next to her bedside to quickly go to the page about teeth and she grabbed the little bitty toy that Elena had bought him months ago, thank god she did. Yes, here it said, she hurried back to their bathroom, "It must be it," She said, slightly or maybe obviously anxious as she put the book on the side, next to the towels so it wouldn't get wet and held the little toy in front of Kai. He immediately took it and instead of crying started to suck on it, was that all?

After G made his suggestion to Hana, she asked G to keep an eye on Kai. G nodded and did so. He kept an eye on Kai who was crying. Hana meanwhile dried her hands and went to check some facts in their parenting baby book. "Shhh... shhh" G tried to calm and shush Kai as he watched over him. He tried to comfort his son and ease his woes, but he just didnt know what to do.
Hana hurried to the bathroom and arrived to G and Kai. G looked at Hana, wondering if she got it. Right one cue she said it must be it. She then gave Kai a toy of some sort. Their baby boy took it right away and chewed on it and sucked on it. It immediatelly calmed him down. G looked at Hana happily and smiled "We did it"
He was happy as he finally felt useful. He was glad he got to contribute in a meaningful way. But now that they figured out the culprit. Teeth.
There was no reason for Kai to be in the tub. So G tried to get their boy out of the tub and dry him off. He then looked at Hana to see if she was ok. He was concerned about her as well after all

They did it? She stared at their little boy still who now with hands and feet tried to keep the toy in his mouth, sucking on it, biting it maybe, and she felt like she still failed and won a little. She did look up at G and because he looked happy, she felt a little happier too and she nodded. She went to take a step aside when G took their little boy out of the tub and dried him off. She looked tired and slightly unhappy still. At moments like this, she felt lonely. It was not that she did not have G but the fact that they could not ask either of their parents was what was a little disappointing to her and she felt like she had been the wrong person in her life to get a kid. She had her aunt Sayaka of course but that wasn't the same. Hanako got tired of hating herself, for sure.
"Shall we take him to our bed and just stay by his side?" She asked, she could maybe go and get the cake she made for G's birthday so they could eat it there and watch their little one now that he was having fun and quiet. She wanted to stay by his side but not ruin G's birthday. If he agreed she would get the chocolate cake for him from downstairs and put it on the make-up table again. It would not be a too bad a day today. She hoped so at least.
