==== Ten Minutes ago ====
Resting back on her hands as the sounds of cars roared past in the busy Tokyo street below, Mia was enjoying one of the few breaks in her day as she just took in the fresher air above the city, away from the heavy fumes that could sometimes linger in the streets below. She had to admit, it felt good to relax, even if only for a little. She’d been so busy preparing for the raid the other month that even when she got back to her regular business she’d been pretty stressed and pent up, but small moments like this helped her clear her head a bit and just get back into a more natural flow of things. Of course, peace times like this were never one to last in this line of work… but would she really have it any other way? ‘All heroes in the area we got a possible QED user please respond’ Mia’s earpiece came through with an emergency broadcast, one of the few channels she still let come through on her earpiece even when she was on break. Shoving herself up to her feet, she’d place two fingers to the small device in her ear to respond. “Hey ya got Red Horn here. What’s going on?” There was a brief sound of static…or something happening in the background, hard to tell, but ultimately the message continued to come through. ‘We’re clearing out the area. Telekenetic quirk going into overdrive. According to one of the civilians it seems a possible over-dose of QED. According to one of the civilian's in the area, they seem to have been injected by an unknown third party and flew into a rage!’ Ugh. QED. She didn’t really need a reminder of that electrical bastard right now but…nah. This was good. QED meant there was actually gonna be a bit of a challenge, and while she was always a hero first… she loved her job for other reasons too. “Alright I’m on it. Where are you-“ Mia’s eyes scanned the sky line, and a horn blaring in the distance as a car managed to cross her view. Her expression dipped as her tusks started to spread up over her top lip, rolling her shoulders back as she got ready to move. “Nevermind…think I got you…!” === Present ===
“RAAAAARGH!” Mia’s hands embedded themselves deeply in the metal frame of a card as she dug in her heels and tried hard to crash her momentum. The hefty vehicle slammed hard into her body but with some last minute effort she’d managed to save it from slamming into any of the civilians around her. One of the few downsides of being so popular was you tended to draw a crowd, and when your job was trying to keep people like that alive, it lead to you taking a lot of shit in their place. Tossing the car aside, Mia’s muscular frame coated in scrapes and cuts after a long fought battle that didn’t seem to be coming to an end any time soon, she shot her glare through the maelstrom of swirling rubble, cars and street-fixtures, with a shaded figure at it’s center. Whatever set him off she couldn’t say, but the incoherent ramblings he managed to throw through his own telekinetic storm of chaos…she could only guess this surprise over-dose had blown him into the super powered equivalent of a tantrum as he whined over ever pathetic issue in his life. “Look I’m giving you one last chance! You drop this ‘the world’s done me wrong’ tantrum and this’ll be a whole lot easier on you then if I take another run at you!” There was a moment of pause, the telekinetic tantrum didn’t seem to stop, but the sound seemed to calm… for a second Mia felt a mix of both satisfaction and disappointment that this might be coming to an end. “…I…I can’t stop!” He yelled out of the storm, every object he held seeming to freeze in place, the ragged office attire and the wild hair of the man within more visible as the chaos came to a halt. Mia grit her teeth and got ready to move. “I…I’m TOO FAR TO STOP!” Mia had no idea what he was on about but at this stage that didn’t matter. As the held debris started to shift forward it was clear he was going all out here, the mess of objects funnelling towards Mia as the Oni considered trying to hold her ground…but against this mess? Not likely… She glanced down to her right arm, recalling the incident she’d had with Kata…if she pushed herself maybe she could tap into that again but… No. Whatever happened then was a fluke. She could do this! With a hard kick off the ground, tarmac cracking beneath her steps, she rushed forward, head low like a charging beast, her muscles bulging further as she prepared to push through the storm. “Just remember mate! YOU MADE THE CHOICE!” The crowd turned mostly silent behind her. They’d watched as even single items from this storm had been clashing with Mia one on one like it was a fair fight, and now the whole storm was facing the beastly woman. It wouldn’t be unfair to say a good portion of the onlookers wouldn’t be hitching their bets on her in this moment, but in a moment like this, Mia didn’t care. In this moment it was the beast against the storm. Mono a Mono. And she had no intention of losing.

A brown haired girl ran through the streets. Messages flashed across the screen of her phone- Internet message boards, the swiftest source of any information! On the picture-in-picture display, grainy footage played, as though streamed through a cell phone... Which it probably was. So small, how could the phone's owner possibly make out what was going on? Yet she stared intently at it, even as she brushed through the crowds of fellow pedestrians... If she missed this, she would never forgive herself!
On the screen, two figures clashed. Blonde hair waved around a signature horn sprouting from the forehead- Japan's number one Hero, Red Horn! Her opponent, probably some random guy. It wasn't important. What mattered was that he was holding his own! Wha! A chance to see Red Horn in action, to catch her moves on film... That wasn't a chance that came every day! How could the legendary battle analyst that was Iwasaka Shouko pass up on this? And so even as she watched the telekinetic pull cars between himself and the hero, she was watching the stream of words rolling past.
- Where is this?
- Wah, Red Horn, I want to have your children!
- Who is this guy?
- Baboom! Baby!
- Who's winning?
-It's at the corner of-
There! That was it! Shouko locked onto the place that random internet person C named and prayed it wasn't a troll. If she missed this battle, she would never forgive herself! The comments no longer mattered, the fight quickly enlarged to take up the whole screen... She didn't want to miss a minute, if she could help it! Feet flew as she brushed past people. When the crosswalk was red, she tapped impatiently... She was close! She could almost hear the explosions! Just a few more blocks...
In the end, it felt like it took a lot longer to arrive than it actually did. Should it be said that she was lucky? Shouko had already been out on the town, and had been browsing on her phone... And Red Horn already stood out, so it wasn't long before she had heard about the hero being sighted. And in a rush, at that... And not much longer before news of a rogue quirker had come up as the likely target. In the end, the fight had only been going for about ten minutes when the girl reached the edges of the crowd which had quickly formed!
However, as much as she enjoyed the presence of fellow fight enthusiasts... She had a job to do! Pushing her way through, the girl's surprising strength helped her slip through the crowds. Right up to the police line which kept the peanut gallery from getting too close and getting hurt by the chaotic fight! It was still a bit far away, but... Ah well! The price paid for order! Ignoring the police's wary glares, the brunette girl quickly brought out her camera, training it's lens on the match. If not for her age, she would seem to be a reporter, or perhaps paparazzi... But by her face, there was no way she was old enough for that! What's more, she wasn't hurting anyone, so aside from the initial concern that her pushing would not stop at the police line, her presence was eventually ignored.
Which suited her just fine! She didn't want to miss a moment of this! A car flew into the hero, who caught it even as it nearly reached the crowd... Proof that the police line was well calculated!~ Good job, officers! And you too, Red Horn! Of course, she didn't say so out loud. There was already enough noise getting caught on tape without her commentary! Hm hm!
Casting the car aside, the hero's body showed the scars of battle. Cuts and bruises showed through her clothing. Some of which Shouko could place to specific moments she had caught on stream on the way over! Speaking of which, based on the angle of the video, the person who had been filming... The girl's eyes roved over to a man filming on a generation-old phone, which explained the quality. However, compared to her disappointment at the grainy footage he had provided... She was far happier than if there was no footage at all! And so, catching his eye, she offered a wave of gratitude, before returning her focus to the task at hand!
But altogether... There still wasn't much to comment on. A storm of debris plowed towards the hero, who fended it off with the strength she had become famous for. Of course, that wasn't to take anything away from her- Those muscles were impressive! The force of the battle spoke for itself, Red Horn's feet crunching through the road beneath her feet as she slowly fought against the incoming storm. If anything, mister crazy was impressive for holding his own against the number one! He could rest proudly in his grave! The relatively straightforward movements were as such, rather easy to film- Shouko had plenty of capacity for useless thoughts. As she focused on holding the camera straight against the occasional gust of wind from the clash, a part of her brain calculated how much force was involved in that seemingly simple contest... Right as the hero took another step forward into the chaos.

Rushing forward into the maelstrom of chaos that lay before her Mia didn't falter. Even as debris rushed towards her each with more force and weight than any average goon could land in their most devestating blow Mia rushed through it all. While she broke the distance between herself and the source the crowd behind her was still in danger, and with no care for the damage it did to herself, relying only on the mentality that she must maintain her charge, she braced against everything. An arm clashing with a lampost, her shoulder barging through a chunk of pavement, she continued to rush forward until she wa sure the chaos that missed her didn't reach the crowd at her back...! With grace that might not be expected of the bulky heroine, her body fell into a skid under a chunk of concrete, and rose back into her charge without losing momentum, swerving from one side to the other as a car hood and a lamppost tried to take her out, but she continued to run at full blast towards the source. The debris skimmed across the road behind her, but the closer she got the less risk the crowd found themselves at, the majority of the projectiles crashing hard before they even came close to harming a civilian. “THAT ALL YOU GOT!?”“NOT…YET…!”The raging quirker threw down his arms, and the swaying onslaught of rubble crashed down towards her, several pierces of debris fusing into a single projectile, the metal of a car door warping as it condensed against concrete, a lamppost snapping as it wrapped around the edge of the forming sphere. Mia’s eyes narrowed, but her momentum didn’t falter. Her charge skimmed across the tarmac, the messy boulder rushing towards her easily encompassing her with it’s shadow. She reared her arm back behind her, an open palm clenching into a tight fist with such force the clap of her fingers against her own palm seemed to echoe back down the street. She turned herself side on to face the attack, a pain radiating through her forehead as he horn stretched the skin around it as it pushed from her skull. A deep, crimson red spread from her wrist, encompassing her fist and travelling down along her forearm and bicep, taking over even her shoulder as she carried her momentum through her all the while. “ITS…! OOOOVER!”Her fist soared forward, slamming deep into the boulder. The force of her attack scraping through the core of this condensed mess. The force carried by both beast and storm clashing in that one instance, and for a brief moment…the beast seemed to be the loser. Her heels dug in deep, her red flesh spreading upwards from the soles of her bare fear. Her fist embedded deep in the boulder as the weight and force it carried pushed against her. The cracks she’d formed clearly weakened it but with the telekinetic force shoving it from behind it seemed her momentum had met it’s end, and now it was her versus the psychic, with this dense wall of chaos in her way. Mia let out a harsh breath…and though no one could see it, a grin spread across her beastly maw. Her free arm pulled back behind her, turning her to her other side as she drew back her leg. She reared back her head as her horn bulged further from her skull, the red flesh spreading down from the base of her mighty Red Horn and down over her eyes. With a guttural roar that some might find the faintest tint of joy within, she slammed her whole self forward, the dense plating of her own slamming into the weakened boulder… And it was done. “RAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGH!!!”With a deeply satisfying Boom that spread across the street and the surrounding blocks, the ball of rubble, held together by warmed metal and loosely locked rocks, shattered apart. The momentum it held had all but been halted by the first attack, and so it fell almost without fanfare as it crashed apart in place. A whimper escaped the telekenetic’s lips, the force he’d been shoving into the boulder crashing into the tarmac where Red Horn once stood… Once stood? As if she’d make herself an easy target…! The crowd could turn their eyes up into the sky. With a harsh kick off the ground the beastly heroine had rose into the air above the street. The red began to fade from her face and her feat, but it remained thick and dense about her right arm, reared back once more. “I SAID.”She clenched her fist tight. “ITS!”She lined up her shot. “OOOOOOVER!”A final explosion of force. Mia’s fist clapped hard against the air itself as the force she carried echoed through the air. By the time it reached the man on the street, sure, it wouldn’t be the blow it could have been. But that was the job. You don’t go for the kill. You go for the take down. As the boulder truly faded away behind them, the crowd would watch this force of air slam hard into the raging quirker in the street below, his body skimming harshly across the street before a car door finally caught his back, leaving a deep dent in it, and his unconscious body laying slumped against it. The red finally left her arm…and with a cushion of condensed air lingering in the street below her, she fell to the ground, catching herself on a small stumble, before throwing her head back to take in a deep…satisfying breath. “And that’s why I’m number 1…” With her self congratulation muttered quietly to herself, she turned back to the crowd that formed in the street behind her with a wide grin on her face and a playfulness in her tone as she called out to the officers on standby. “HEY! We’re gonna need some cuffs and a medic down here!~”

It was an impressive display of strength, endurance, and determination. However, from another point of view... That was all it was. In the background surrounded by mob characters, a twintailed girl shook her head with a frown. If it was the #1 hero, was it wrong to expect more? But from the self proclaimed battle analyst's point of view... If there was something impressive about the Oni hero, it was the fact that it worked. There was no technique, no style, not even an attempt to mitigate the effect of the debris being launched towards her. The simplest and stupidest fighting style in the world, direct and in a straight line. A fight which left nothing to analyze, how could she not be disappointed?
Still, as expected of the number one hero! While her fighting style may be the stupidest, most banal thing the girl had ever witnessed, it was still more than clear how the other had earned her title. That sheer brute strength was on a level unmatched in the country- Under the force of such an overpowering might, all technique was worthless! Just the concrete chunks she had blatantly taken head on, would be enough to knock out nearly any other hero Shouko could think of. And yet, Red Horn had only been pushed back. Just how ridiculous was that hero's body? It was like an armored car! An unstoppable force, barreling through all dangers to crush the opponent in front of her eyes.
As for her opponent... What was there to say? He was clearly not in his right mind. If Mia's fighting style was the simplest and most direct, then his was purely feral. There was no thinking involved, merely taking the closest and heaviest object, and launching it straight forward! Even as Mia approached, he hadn't put up a guard... How could such an opponent create an interesting fight? The only notes to make were the hero's overwhelming strength and the villain's underwhelming mental state. What's more, as a telepath, his body hardly could match up to what he faced- Forget staying conscious, it wouldn't be a surprise if he died after that hit! After all, this was a hero would would destroy a student's body in a sparring match...
No matter how many times Katayacchi explained that she wanted it, Shouko still found the matter ridiculous. Katayacchi was her friend! How could she overlook such an injury? If it wasn't for Nimue-sensei, how long would it be before she was able to walk again? As the person in the position of strength, it was Red Horn's job to know how much the student could take! Just like how she could trust Feng-senpai not to give her anything more than surface burns when they fought! Shouko fumed. It wasn't quite to the degree of disliking the pro hero, but rather... A lack of respect? Between a binary style and the lack of self awareness, Shouko didn't see much in Red Horn worth getting excited over. But then, she only knew of the hero tangentially, so perhaps a proper conversation would change that outlook?
But of course, her relatively professional camera aside, Shouko was little more than another face in the crowd. How could she possibly attract the interest of the hero, who was still dealing with the aftermath of the battle? The answer, perhaps, lay in her eyes. Eyes honed through years of watching battles at high speeds, picking out the finest details. And even if this battle was the sort of binary battle which would be impossible to analyze for long enough to make a video about... It was still the sort of high tension match which never failed to get her blood pumping! Even if her video only covered the time since she arrived, she still flipped open the side window of her camera, unwilling to wait until she returned to her room to watch the day's spoils!
"Eh, what's with his skin? Creepy..." She would murmur, looking at the prominent veins bulging underneath the man's pale skin. Was that a side effect of his quirk? She glanced towards the fallen body. "Hmm?" The veins she had seen were still quite prominent, despite his current state. "Heeeh, that's weird... A side effect of his quirk?" But her voice held doubt, as if she felt like there was more to it than that. In the first place, it wasn't a body enhancement quirk- She could understand a telekine's head having swollen veins, but the rest of his body? And since it was a mental type power, they would usually fade after his brain stopped working... It wasn't enough to really ring any alarm bells, but it was a curious thing to note.

As the crowd started to collapse and the barriers held by the police where… well, not overpowered, but naturally started to fall apart as the emergency responders started to fill the scene rather than focus specifically on the crowd, a few lesser pros even arriving to help with the clean up, Mia fell naturally backwards to land on her ass, sitting on the dislodged tire of one of the cars that had been previously used as a projectile, her arms resting over her knees as she looked over the scrawny punk who’d given her such trouble. She knew she shouldn’t see him like that, he clearly wasn’t in his right mind but… there was this odd fog in the front of her head that was slowly fading. The more she’d been pushing herself lately the more she’d been feeling like that… it was probably just the stress of the job though. What with the quirker tax and shinagawa things had been really piling up lately.
Still, she’d keep her eyes on the guy even as the civilian crowd grew closer and closer, the police still making sure to hold them back from interacting with the unconscious quirker, leaving Mia to just let her eyes wash over him. Still a bit foggy from the rage all she could really notice was the small things. How his shirt looked torn up, the furrowed brow even as he was unconscious, smashed glasses…
“Hm?” She’d turn her eyes over her shoulder at a member of the crowd. While she heard people calling out her name, one or two people asking for an interview, the one she caught onto was the person pointing out his skin. It wasn’t too prominent but as she looked back she could see the bulging veins across the body… She slipped down next to him on a knee and lifted his arm, tearing one of the sleeves free, noticing how the veins seemed to be focused on one side of the body. With the sleeve gone, Mia could see the veins starting to retreat to a puncture mark, a brown coloration in the skin around the mark, about triple the size of a bad mosquito bite.
“Huh…” She’d turn her eyes into the crowd, smirking a little. “Nice catch kid…” The veins faded more and more with the passing seconds, till even the brown coloration began to fade. If they hadn’t caught onto that they may have just ended up assuming it was a QED case… but having been trying to take on aspects of Thunder’s operation for a while… she’d rise to her feet and whistle to one of the officers on scene. A few others came to scoop the quirker off the floor and into the back of a secure ambulance while Mia got the officer’s attention. “Make sure they test it’s actually QED in the guy alright? Could just be unique to his quirk but I ain’t seen a guy react like that on a simple QED overdose… I mean he either has a lot of anger issues and the QED set them off or we got something knew on the market.”
The officer would give a quick nod and make note of it, but turned with a shake of his head. Mia didn’t take offense, she was kinda used to the police and the like not really wanting to deal with the messes her fights left behind.
Her eyes turned back to the girl in the crowd, striding over and folding her arms, very easily talking over the head of one of the officers still holding back the crowd till the quirker was fully locked up in the back of the ambulance. “Nice catch kid. Got a good set of eyes on ya to pull that out, Whats yer name?”

The crowd around Shouko rippled with excitement as the number one hero looked in their direction- Except Shouko, of course, who was too busy watching the fight again. "She was looking at me!" "No, me!" And other various such praises came from everyone except the one for whom it was true for. Nor was she aware when following that glance, the famous hero would immediately move to check on the body- Or what she found on the body. In fact, it would not be until the hero walked over that the girl would look away from her screen- A far cry from the nearly-fainting fervor with which her surroundings reacted. Red Horn wasn't the number one hero for no reason!
As it was, it would not be until she was nudged by a neighbor that she would look up. She had heard Red Horn's voice, but- There was no way the hero was talking to her, right? But looking up at the woman who was suddenly a lot closer than the girl ever expected to get... A confused hand reached up, thumb pointing to herself in surprise. Lips formed an o of surprise as the giant would presumably confirm that Shouko was, in fact, who she was talking to. Who would have thought? I mean, aside from the annoying horde of people who each glared at her as if they would be the one Red Horn called out, if only she were not there.
But no one cared about them, anyways. Even the one who was chuckling darkly in the back and saying some suspicious things. In the first place, you're a man, so how are you going to bear children? Yeesh...
"Yah, Iwasaka, Shouko-desu!" Shouko would properly introduce herself. "It's an honor to meet you, Red Horn-san!" While she might not respect her style, Shouko had tons of respect for Red Horn's strength! Besides, aside from teachers, it was her first time meeting a real hero! And she'd been called out to, too! But why would that be? The girl thought for a moment... Ah! "Is this about Katayacchi?" Shouko asked, referring to her roommate. Red Horn had injured her, so maybe she wanted to ask Shouko how she was doing?
Eh, wait, how did Red Horn know she was Katayacchi's roommate in the first place?

Seeing that the girl was too engrossed in her thoughts and her screen to even realize the blonde beast, Mia couldn’t help but give a cheeky little scoff, not sure if she should be oddly insulted or impressed by the inability to hold the girl’s direct focus. Afterall she either had something really big on her brain or despite being in her ‘audience’ this girl didn’t really care much for the pro hero themselves. “Yeah, you kid. Pretty sure you’re the reason I noticed the veins before they disappeared.~” She’d give a sly wink and a perk at the corner of her lips as her grin widened, genuinely a little impressed that the kid managed to catch a detail like that in the chaos. Everyone else had been more engaged with Red Horn herself over the veins of the criminal slash victim.
“Shouko huh? Feel like I’ve caught wind of that name somewhere…” She wasn’t too directly engaged in the lifestyle of UA but now and then something tended to catch her ear, and Shouko’s name sounded oddly familiar, though even then she couldn’t even be sure that it was UA that had brought her to hear about it, idly rubbing her chin as she tried to jog her own memory before lifting her eyes at the mention of… “Katayacchi? Who… Oh is that Kata’s full name!? You know Kata!?” Mia showed some genuine excitement as her ‘cool hero’ pose got cut short as she leaned over the shoulder of the cop holding the crowd back, but before Mia could even explain why she’d suddenly gotten so excited she realized the man between them was probably a bit awkward.
“Hey er…you guys are good here right?” She’d pat the officer’s shoulder, who, getting a general sense of things, seemed to say it was okay before Mia eased her way into the crowd, though as excited as everyone was most of them seemed to be respectful enough not to make a grab for her or anything. Mia herself resting a hand on Shouko’s shoulder now as she guided her out of the crowd. “Okay so first things first, you helped me notice that thing with the veins so that’s what this is about, but secondly, you know Kata?~” She’d ask, the genuine excitement back on her face. “How’s that kid doing?~ They recoverin’ okay? I swear I’d have dropped by UA to check on ‘em more but they made this weird little decleration I couldn’t see them again till they’d earned it… well I doubt I need to say much more. If your talkin’ about the Kata I know you must know what she’s like already yeah?”
Of course Mia could be getting the wrong end of the stick here but, kid, about Kata’s age, with that same sort of weird ‘ditzy’ energy to them that seemed more endearing than annoying… Mia was pretty sure she was on the right track here at the very least. And if not it’d be an easy enough mistake to have made.

"Eh? Oh, you heard that?" The girl sheepishly murmured. It wasn't as though she'd said it that loudly... Had she? But they were just a side effect of his quirk, right? Not something worth calling out to her over! "I was just talking to myself, yanno? It was weird, since for a mental type like him, you'd think the veins would only bulge out in his forehead, right?" Camera cradled in one hand, her other traced out imaginary veins on her own face. "Eto... But why does that matter?" The girl finally admitted defeat, having no clue why the number one hero thought that was worth mentioning.
Eh, the number one hero thought her name was familiar? Had Katayacchi mentioned it during the training exercise? That was her best guess. Surely she wasn't catching the eyes of any heroes at the moment! As for the pro's misunderstanding of her friend's name... If Shouko acknowledged that the actual full name was Katahime, she showed no sign of it as she cheerily confirmed the conclusion. "En, Katayacchi is Katayacchi, after all!" Thus perpetuating the misunderstanding. "Of course I know her, I live with her!" Was her response to the second part of the question. "Eh? If you didn't know that... That's not it?" She asked slowly, as the surprise dawned on her.
The hero would quickly assuage her confusion by explaining that it was about the veins. "Eh? But veins are just veins, right? I just thought they were a bit weird, is all..." Not to mention the fight was so binary to watch that anything out of the ordinary was enough to catch Shouko's interest... Not that she'd say that part to Red Horn's face! Okay, so saying it Red Horn's face was exactly the kind of thing Shouko would do... So it was probably better for the both of them that the conversation would immediately change direction.
Since the question had been repeated, Shouko would naturally repeat the answer! "Yeah! She's my roommate!" She would confirm, making her the person best suited to answer the following questions. Regarding Katayacchi's injuries- "Yep! She got lucky, Nimue-sensei was visiting that day! Sensei's a real miracle worker, you know!" Of course, the flipside of that was that if Nimue-sensei hadn't been visiting... But following that path would be quite unlike Shouko, known for not thining too deeply. About anything. Well, anything that wasn't in the middle of combat, at least. "Nyahaha, that sounds like Katayacchi!" Her roommate had been no less energetic after the incident- Aside from wanting to get back to the training fields! But Shouko knew how she felt! Whenever she had to spend a day on bed rest, she was always unable to lay still! And Katayacchi had been down for a week! Eep!
"She hasn't gone a day without saying she'll surpass you since then, though! Ah, she probably wanted to let you know that herself. Pretend I didn't say anything!" How could she have declared someone else's rivalry for them? Ah, what a slip up!

“Yeah I heard that. Geeze you were real out of it huh?” She commented with a cheeky grin, but still this little obliviousness was kinda enthralling in it’s own odd way. Girl clearly wasn’t just some fangirl if details like this were grabbing her attention. “Fair enough though, ya got sound reasoning and I’m glad I heard ya cause ya might be onto something. I mean idle comment or not ya coulda helped us catch something, so nice work, even if it was just dumb luck.” She’d smirk a little before explaining a little further. “As for why it matters… they called this in as a QED overdose of some kind, forced injection or something. That veiny crap though ain’t on brand for QED, so either someone’s mixing it with something else… or this is something new. And as much as I’d love to pin more blame on that electric asshole thundershock, we need to make sure we’re targeting the right people to get shit like this off the streets…”
Lost in her thoughts for a moment, the conversation of Kata was what brought her back to reality, smirking softly and rolling back her shoulder as she eased up a bit as she spoke about Kata with the girl before her. “Right so Katayachi’s her full name huh? Will have to make sure I don’t forget incase it comes up again…” Albeit she said that with a mild shrug, not thinking anyone would mind if she didn’t recognize the spunky girl by that name, but her smile perked up again as she continued to talk. “Ah shit your roomates!? Awesome! Better be lookin’ after her. I know I did a bit of a number on her but I wanna make sure that kid gets to put their money where their mouth is, cause she’s got some damn drive behind her if her body can keep up!~” She did still feel some guilt about how Kata had ended up but… hey why not put a positive spin on things, keep moods light? “Still, if she rooms with you, maybe you’re someone I should be keeping an eye on too. Buuuut before that, I should probably drop by when Nimue’s on campus to give her a personal apology too.~”
Moving a little further from the main crowd that had surrounded her fight, a few reporters and the like knowing from experience not to chase her down for a last word if she’d left the scene, and the crowd naturally starting to disperse once the fight was over. “So what brought you out into Tokyo yourself anyway? Bit far from UA for just the random day trip.” Her hands would sink into her pockets as she gave Shouko a curious look, taking them off to a side street away from the main chaos. She'd get the paperwork later tonight, and be back on the scene to help any rebuilding efforts tommorrow, but for now her work here was pretty done.

Rubbing the back of her head, the girl's grin was sheepish. "Ehehehehe." She chuckled lightly, but didn't go into detail about what she was paying attention to. Wasn't it like, totally embarrassing to admit to someone that you had been filming them? Normally they got pretty upset at being treated as someone else's entertainment! Of course, as a hero, Red Horn was probably more used to the cameras than random street thugs were... And of course, most of the time, they had to pay too much attention to their surroundings to give her the time of day! Having a conversation with the person she had just been analyzing... What a surreal feeling! Even more surreal than talking to the senpai she had been filming, at least then, it wasn't right after the fight!
However, the rest of the explanation would purely cause her head to tilt. Eh? QED?" Clearly, the girl had never heard of this particular drug before. That was probably a good thing. While the student was staunchly anti-doping... The Hero had no way of knowing that. But such purehearted innocence could not be faked! "I see! So if it's not an effect of his quirk..." The conclusion no longer needed to be said. If it wasn't from his quirk, and it wasn't QED (Or, at least, vanilla QED), then that meant! There was something else in play here! Something that a Hero couldn't help but look into! Understanding dawned on the girl's face as she understood what was going on here. Wow, not bad for talking out loud! It had formed a connection with a hero!
That the hero mistook her nickname for Katahime's actual full name- Eh, as usual, Shouko didn't even respond. Katayacchi was Katayacchi, after all- Full name, nickname, same thing, really! It was an attitude which caused more than a few misunderstandings. Including right now. However, as Shouko was not the one who would receive the punishment for it- At least, until Katayacchi found out- then it was fine! An idiot's confidence!
Most of the sour feelings Shouko held were washed away by the assurance of a proper apology- In the first place, she wasn't the type to hold a grudge! Or any other emotion, really. The girl would lose her head if it wasn't attached! "No worries! It was a bit rough the first few days, but now that she can get out of bed, there's no problem!" Naturally, the problem was that without her roommate, Shouko struggled to escape her own quirk in the morning. She wasn't actually taking that good care of her roommate, rather, her roommate was taking care of her! But she didn't say that part, and her words were ambiguous enough to seem as though... Shouko as the responsible one. What a terrifying thought.
As the hero moved away from the crowd, Shouko followed, as though magnetically charged. It wasn't every day she got to meet a hero! Well, other than the teachers, of course. They didn't count... Because, reasons, okay!?
"Eh? Why I came to Tokyo...?" Shouko paused. Ah! She had forgotten! In all the excitement! She had originally come to Tokyo in order to... "... What was it, again? I wonder..." The girl tapped on her head. There was a reason! There was definitely a reason! Eto... Had she written it down somewhere? "Ah! Right! Osamu-ossan got a new model in!" Of course, if Osamu actually heard her say that, he would probably groan about not being that old. As for who he was- "Ah, Ossan is a local hobby shop owner! He specializes in cameras, rare ones!" She patted her trusty friend. "His newest one is apparently cursed! Ghost photgraphs and all! I bet it's just a smudge on the lens, but the stories are more fun!" Apparently, Shouko was quite fond of her cameras- Even the ones that weren't suitable for filming battles. Was she even aware of this?

Mia quirked her brow as the girl seemed to delve into her own mind rather than finish her sentence there, but Mia could guess what she was going to say –“Then it means this guy was made to go wild by someone else. So we got someone attacking quirkers to make them go crazy… or to just test some new drug mix on them. Either way, means the job ain’t done. There’s someone out there who probably infected this punk… and it’s not a gang we know of by the looks of things.” Should she be giving this much information out freely? Eh probably fine, it was all just speculation afterall. Nothing concrete.
As for QED though… “You don’t know about QED? And you’re a UA kid right? Pretty sure Thunder spiked you guys’ water supply with it… though… “ She thought for a moment. That was last year so Shouko wouldn’t have been a student… did they not inform kids of the shit they were getting into with stuff like that. “You really not heard of it? Stands for Quirk Enhancement Drug. Really it’s basically just quirker Crack. Just makes you perform super well and then hit massive burnout. It ain’t a good thing by any means…” Though… it was always something she’d been curious about. Like cigarettes but worse. She’d never touch the shit but she was curious what it’d taste like. Or in the case of QED what it’d feel like… though with her red rage issue maybe it wasn’t the best time to even think about that curiosity. Not that she’d ever even do it regardless.
She was glad to see Shouko didn’t hold a grudge with her about Kata or anything, and it was nice hearing the kid had someone other than the school staff and Kotua looking after them. Mia didn’t know too many first years beyond Kata, Kouta, and Karen afterall, so it was good to hear Kata had a pretty good bean of a roommate looking out for her too. “Well that’s good to hear. She did look like she’d pull through. Spunky little kid and all that… honestly reminds me of me a bit if I had a lot more optimism and a lot less bitterness.” She let out a slight chuckle and shook her head, able to laugh about her past pretty easily.
Resting her rear against a dumpster in the alleyway she’d found away from the crowd, she quirked her brow at the mention of some cursed model the girl was going for, scoffing a little in disbelief of the reason and asking- “So you gave up some cursed hobby shop model to come see me? What were you passing by or you got one of those ‘Red Horn alert apps’ I’ve seen going around?” She teased a little, not about to be insulted or creeped out if she did. Afterall she got a nice ego boost knowing people had literal alerts on their phone for whenever she was doing awesome shit.
Folding her arms over her chest, she’d dip her head up. “Better question. How about UA? Always love hearing what brings you kids there!~”

The pro hero explained a lot of things, but really- To Shouko, it didn't really matter! Stuff like evil masterminds and drug dealers were the territory of pros, not students! One day she'd be someone who had to deal with this sort of stuff... But right now, she had the right to sit back and watch other people deal with it! It was a philosophy very opposed to many of her classmates, who would be practically begging Red Horn to let them help if they were to run into this situation... And some even, who may attempt to go after it on their own if told no! Though those cases had been fewer by far than in the first year- The school's implementation of repercussions for exceeding their role had been highly successful. And as evidenced by the memetic level to which Shouko kept her paperwork in order- She was not one to skirt the rules in that way!
Her head only tilted. "Ehh... Doesn't ring a bell. Must have happened before my time!" If it didn't have to do with battles, Shouko would hardly show interest! As such, the only part of that whole debacle she was aware of was the climactic battle between Darkshine and Thundershock. That wasn't to say that the news had been hidden- Although it was sure that the government had been happy to overshadow the news of the attack on their new project with the news of the culprit's arrest. It had been too early in UA's days for the school to afford such a scandal, so perhaps it being swept under the rug was for the best... But it was too large to completely hide. It was mostly Shouko's own lack of interest, in this case!
"Ehhh, that's no good!" Came the response to the actual effect of QED. She didn't really know what this crack thing was, but by the hero's tone, could tell it was nothing good. Sounded like nothing interesting to her anyways- Doping is bad! So even if it weren't you know, a horrible awful drug with nasty side-effects, she wouldn't touch the stuff. She wanted to see where her own power could get her! She had no clue what a high was and even if she did would have no interest in chasing one- She was happy enough just to follow her favorite battles around! That was her high! She nodded, that was the end of the subject.
Eh?" However, the pro hero's opinion of Kata had her interested. The pro's past? Optimism and bitterness? What was that about? But naturally, it was none of her business, so she wouldn't ponder on it overly much. "Nyahaha. Katayacchi'll be happy to hear you said that! She really looks up to you, you know!" Even before the accident- Red Horn this, Red Horn that. If the hero did anything, it seemed like Katayacchi was the first to know! And so naturally, being told she was similar would make her happy... Right?
Oops. She'd been caught red handed. Her sheepish grin turned even more sheepish, in a harmless way. "Ehehe," She chuckled, embarassed at being called out. But naturally, it would only hold for a moment. "Hm? There's something like that? Are there ones for other heroes? That would be so much easier than- Ah!" Ehehe, so maybe asking someone for their stalking app to their face was a bit bold, even for Shouko. "That's right! I need to thank Enoki-chan!" But nope, she was just remembering to pay her informant. Screenname: Enoki. A fellow battle fan, apparently! As for her desire for hero activity tracking apps... She'd be able to see them all in action! Every last one! Wasn't that amazing? She'd totally have to look into this!
As for Osamu-ossan and his cursed hobby shop... Eh, he was on his own. Who knew, maybe obtaining a weird reputation like that would boost his reputation among weird hobbyists! Or something like that.
And finally, the topic turned to school. Shouko would think for a bit- Eh? What had brought her there? "Eh? Well, the sports festival was just so cool to watch, you know? Yumi-senpai's match against Darren-senpai! Tetsuko-senpai against Arthur-san! How could I not be moved by such exciting moments? If I wasn't, how could I call myself a battle analyst?" She proudly declared her self-given title. "And time has proven me right! I've seen so many of the senpai up close, you know? It's amazing what they can do! Yumi-senpai even gave me a demonstration... So powerful! And none of them are waiting up... Ah, I can't wait to see what they're like as Heroes!" She sighed lightly. What lay at the end of everyone's paths? Or at least, somewhere along the middle of them. She was looking forward to seeing it! And not just the senpai! Her own classmates too! However, if there was one person conspicuously absent from this list... It was that she had no interest in herself!

“Heh. Still. A kid who wanted into UA? Surprised you didn’t hear about it…” She gaver no more than an idle shrug and a soft smile. “Ah well. Probably for the best. I wouldn’t want you to have been turned off by it or anything. I mean it was a terrible thing to have happened but a lot of the second year kids now don’t seem too worse for wear for it. I mean there’s a bunch of promising kids. I tried convincing that Darren kid to intern with me even but I ain’t heard anything back. Guess everyone was after him after making it to the finals of the sports fest eh?” It was a little nice to focus on the nicer details of UA afterall than getting bogged down in all the past slips the place had experienced. Good to hear Shouko didn’t seem to have much interest in the crap anyway.
Mia gave a light smirk as Shouko seemed to express joy with the two of them talking about her promising roommate. “Heh. Yeah that was kinda obvious from how she declared I was her rival the first day we met. Really I couldn’t think of a higher honor.” She chuckled heartily, really admiring Kata for having the balls to say that and still not come off as some obnoxious brat in the process.
Mia chuckled a little, glad she informed the girl apps like that existed and pretty chipper about the fact herself. The fact she was so popular there were literally apps that tried to alert people to the chances to see her in action before it was too late was definitely a great feeling. She had an ego, she’d never deny it, especially while she was confident enough in herself to know it was never the only reason she was a hero. “Yeah I’m pretty sure the top five got one… maybe except yellow Jacket, but she likes to keep a little more to herself anyway so I’m not too surprised. She’s a nice woman though so it’s good she’s getting the peace and quiet she prefers.” Mia just gave an idle shrug, holding no qualms with Hacchi’s preference especially after the long conversation they’d had on their respective views. She had her way of doing the job, Mia had hers.
As she started to answer what brought her to UA, Mia’s brow lifted with some curiosity and intrigue as she said she was some sort of battle analysis, and Mia snapped her fingers making a false assumption. “Oh you must be part of that support class then yeah? I mean I think some of those kids are looking into stuff like that but…” She shrugged idly and smiled, holding no qualms either way. Everyone played their part afterall. “So little miss battle analyst…” Mia stepped forward a little, opening up and gesturing over herself as she held a more open stance, presenting herself. “Mind if I get a review? Ya got me curious how I square up now.”

Shouko could only tilt her head further. Should she have heard of it? But it really didn't ring any bells! Incidents last year... There was the circus! And uh, that military exhibition! But footage from those was rare and hard to come by... And blurry at that! Analyzing the battle between Rin and the sharkbeast had been one of her most challenging... Not because the fight was complicated, but because it was more pixelated than a mosaic censor! However, none of the incidents which came to mind made her think of drug-addicted rampages. And the hero seemed to have no interest in embellishing, so Shouko determined to... Not worry about it! Unless it involved a battle, she wasn't about to go out of her way to research it!
And to Shouko, Darren-senpai was a far more interesting topic than some evil steroids! "Mmhmm! Senpai's performance was incredible! Whether it was that edged out win over Yumi-senpai, or the final draw with Tetsuko-senpai. Simply incredible! I'm not surprised he drew a bunch of eyes. I wonder who'll stand out like that this year!" The gleam in her eyes... It was as though she hadn't even considered the possibility of she herself winning. She just wanted to see her classmates fighting, displaying their prowess, and proving themselves for all to see! "It's coming up quickly, too! I can't wait! I wonder which events I should enter..." The combat tournament was a given. But she couldn't just do that! Perhaps the obstacle course? Where were Mianon and Katayacchi planning to enter? She could team up with them!
As for the matter of tracking apps... "Heeeeeh... Thanks for the heads up, Red Horn-san! I'll definitely look into it!" Was san really the honorific to use for the number one hero? But than, at least she had used one in the first place... The chance to see heroes in action, in person... How could she pass that up? Look out, pros, Iwasaka Shouko is coming for you! "Eto, Yellow Jacket is... Tsutsuji-sensei, right? She's got quite the crazy quirk!" There was Shouko's usual eye gleam. The one that said she wanted to take a closer look at the quirk. That's no good, Shouko! You can't harass the teachers like that! Of course, it seemed she was aware of that much... If not, given her personality, she would have long since done something to the second year support teacher......
The Pro proceeded to misunderstand her role in UA. Suipport, huh? But... "Eh? No, I'm a part of the hero course!" She would correct promptly. "Ah, not that I have anything against support! But, you know, it's so far away from the action, you know? In the hero course I can see everyone's quirks up close! It's amazing! Like-" It seemed she was about to start listing the quirks of her classmates, when the pro properly cut her off. In the first place, if Shouko was allowed to start, one may never hear the end of it...
"Eh? A review of you? Just now? Eto... Okay!" The girl chipperly agreed, forgetting for the moment that her view of the pro was... perhaps something the other would be pained to hear. But it wasn't as though there were other fights on hand to compare to! "Eto, eto..." It was a different feeling to do it live! In her studio she could do retakes, and post video alongside her words to prove a point. And because the audience had experienced it, there was no need for the usual play by play analysis, and she could step straight into the justification!
"Well, to put it simply. It was a battle of two forces clashing, and the stronger coming out ahead? In the first place, there wasn't any technique involved from either side... PK man just threw whatever was heaviest at hand, and you just pushed through it. Because of your powerful body, you were able to take his attacks on yourself, and prevent damage to the crowd behind, all the while pushing through his telekinetic storm!" It was a relatively polite way to say that the hero had just pushed forward with brute force. She hadn't even mitigated the damage she took, allowing it to strike her head on!
"And in a natural fashion, once the close range fighter closes in on the ranged specialist, it's pretty much over. He didn't have the kind of body which can resist damage, since his quirk is purely in his mind, so... After closing the gap, he went down in one hit. In short, the entire battle could be summed up as, "Would Red Horn be knocked out before she reached her opponent?" and the answer to that question is... As you can see." It was as much a question of endurance as strength. But even the sudden wellspring of strength which came up at the last minute... Wasn't important to the girl. Yes, it allowed Red Horn to finish crossing that distance, but the real important point is that the hero was able to withstand the damage being thrown at her. "Eto, and I suppose... Even if you hadn't reached him, he would probably have reached his limits soon? Even doped up, the human body can only use so much energy, and telekinesis is no exception!"
But this would be her first time hearing a direct response to one of her analyses! Sure, one of her sports festival videos had gotten a uTube comment from a fighter... But that wasn't the same thing! Shouko couldn't help but anticipate the hero's response.

“Hhehehe, yeah the two of them were damn impressive. Never heard back from Darren when I sent him an offer, but kid like that probably had offers all over the place. Yumi and Tetsuko… well Tetsuko’s the same deal but I at least got a reply off of her. Just said it wasn’t the offer she was looking for. Yumi… I think the kid’s got potential but I looked a little beyond the sports festival. I think she needed to work on her focus a bit before I could take her out into the field. No offense to the kid, she’s got talent but…” Mia rubbed under her chin, trying to think how to put it. “Kid’s record showed their quirk can go off in threatening situations. Didn’t wanna risk it with the stuff I planned ya know? Again, kid’s got talent but… she’s a risk, and not one I potentially have the capacity to stop…” Which itself was not Mia saying she couldn’t take Yumi down… but she’d managed to see some images of her more full sized electrical blasts. Mia could take HER down, but not before that thing did a lot of collateral…
Ah well, she rolled her shoulders back, sinking her hands into her pockets. Nothing to get hung up on. “Still. Lot of those kids’ll make good heroes one day. Maybe not my breed of hero but… good ones for sure.” She’d smile warmly as Shouko mentioned it was coming up again, nudging her shoulder. “Hey you BETTER enter the tournament if they’re doing that again. Definitely the best way for me to see what you spunky kids are made of!~”
As Shouko recalled Yellow Jacket, Red horn sadly had to shrug at the question. “Dunno her last name sorry kid. She only introduced herself as Hachi. Trying to get better at remembering last names though. I know it’s a whole cultural thing in Japan to go by last names first. Dunno if that’s just cause it’s the way it is or some family name respect or something but… I’m working on it. Until then I think my American-isms are just adding to my charm.~” She grinned a little with a loose chuckle.
Her brow lifted with some mild surprise as the girl said she was on the hero course, but if she ran around trying to chase down pros that made sense. Battle analysis musta just been her hobby not something she did in pursuit of her actual side of course. “Oh yeah? Well fair enough then.~ I just assumed if you were doing analysis that was some sorta support role. Ya know telling some hero how they can do better next time and all that, but hey if you can do that AND kick ass yourself who am I to tell ya otherwise?~” She nodded firmly to boot, agreeing fully with being close to the action. “Yeah I getcha. Can’t knock support though. They do good work.” She knew shouko wasn’t, but didn’t hurt to emphasize.
Red Horn shifted a little and got comfortable as she listened to her own analysis, tipping her head to the side and rubbing at the back of her neck. She wasn’t the brightest but she wasn’t thick either. While she’d been seeing the heat of battle, rushing through rubble, slamming herself through it and pushing through… to a keen mind like this kid’s they’d just been seeing Mia brute force her way against someone else trying to do the same. She supposed she had a fair point, and while Mia wasn’t insulted persay, she was a little disheartened.
“That’s… that’s fair.” She let out, nodding along as she gave it some thought. “Nah you’re right. Once I closed the distance it was game over. Doesn’t really make for an interesting ‘display of skill’ I guess but er…” She shrugged idly with a looser smirk than before, still putting on a playful face but definitely a tad deflated. “Guess it’s just not something I’ve ever had to worry about. I mean I ain’t much of a fan of martial arts and stuff, I think it’s turning fighting into a dance or something but… with a body like mine ‘getting stronger’ has always been the option I can turn to. It’s how I get the job done.” She let out a more hearty chuckle before finishing as she folded her arms. “Still… sorry I ain’t the most enthralling display.~”
