APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Elliot Drake is a toned being with sepia skin that is easily tanned darker when exposed to the outside frequently. He has a longer face with sharper facial features as well as a sharp jaw. His figure is tone overall, his fingers being slender but firm. He prefers to dress in whatever he deems cool or dynamic, even being prone to wearing all black in the form of a leather jacket and pants with all-black running shoes and fingerless gloves. Regardless of his chosen attire at the time, he has a set of red-lens sunglasses that have a black frame with a non-visible underside for the lens. As for formal occasions such as attending school or important events, the attitude expressed in his clothing is like night-and-day. Ironically, he would be the most formally dressed and groomed. Even his normally messy hair would be slicked to the side. His normal facial expressions usually have an energetic spunk to him unless he's frowning, which looks more-so solemn and gloomy.
POSITIVE
✔ Elliot, when need be, is well-mannered and respectful in formal settings. Almost night-and-day with his posture and persona in informal settings.
✔ Aside from Japanese, he is a rather fluent speaker in English and Italian. He also doesn't have much trouble learning other languages, but those are his mastered languages.
✔ Elliot is a very energetic explorer, and as such is one to often be up for new experiences and even bring others into the fray. Extroverted as well as not afraid to bring others out of their shell.
✔ Whether it be the people he cares about or his overall duty, Elliot is a very protective person.
NEGATIVE
✖ Elliot is rather aggressive when it comes to either being upset or being around someone he dislikes. Whether it be passive or direct, he will somehow make this distaste known.
✖ The Ifrit himself tends to have a habit for being a bit too attuned to fire. He can't help it, but he will thoughtlessly set the wrong things on fire when he gets bored.
✖ Elliot can be quite gullible in non-serious times, so it's easy to play tricks on him. Not as true when it comes to more serious situations such as interning with professional Heroes.
✖ He is a curious cat, and as such he may poke his nose in places where they don't belong. Obviously, he is prone to getting himself in trouble or caught up in situations that he should not be in. This may include dragging others with him.
✖ Elliot, in informal settings, can be a bit of a punk.
LIKES
✔ Elliot LOVES food of all kinds, which is what partly drives his passion being a skilled Italian cook. He can't quite express himself or wrap his head around other cultural styles of cooking, but he certainly loves eating!
✔ The boy is also a gym nut since he was young, loving working out every part of his body not for the sake of bulking up but to discipline and tone. As such, he has his own morning routines and loves spending free time trying new things at the gym.
✔ Elliot stereo-typically has an obsession for martial arts movies. While quite a few may only be caricatures of the real thing, he has always followed them and will geek out when in the face of his favorite movie stars.
✔ He also loves traveling for the sake of witnessing grand pieces of architecture. In general, he loves exploration. This may drive his curiosity and him into some trouble, but it makes him an eager wayfarer.
✔ Elliot is a fan of architecture, not that he knows the in depth details of it. He's more of an appreciative follower who will visit new sites and buildings if there are plans beyond anything homogeneous.
DISLIKES
✖ Elliot dislikes overly pessimistic people and as such, is willing to argue or coerce them to be happy. This doesn't necessarily work out, but he feels the pessimism is overtly toxic and unnecessary.
✖ Dishonesty for the purpose of personal gain and not the greater good really grinds Elliot's gears. This is something that'll make Elliot mark someone with plenty of red tape, mentally.
✖ Betrayal enrages Elliot to an irrational degree. He cannot handle it, easily losing all sense if he were ever to be truly betrayed.
✖ Horror movies of any kind make him shiver. Elliot cannot handle them and as such, will avoid them.
Personality:
Elliot is a very extroverted person, known for being someone who likes to spread that energy to others. For the most part, he is an open book and will let people know whether or not he trusts them. This can be extended to the aggressive tendency to let his enemies be aware of their standing with him. To compliment his extroverted nature, Elliot has a spunk in informal settings that could light the wrong people's moods on fire. In formal settings, he is usually determined to be respectful and well-mannered, knowing that whatever event it is calls for it. He is not one for side-ways words, being very direct and honest.
This can either come off pure and innocent or he can have a fiery attitude. The explorer is never afraid to drag others into his adventures, or misadventures, and will do so in a very eager manner. If he sees someone is down, he wouldn't mind taking a walk with them all around campus or town. Due to his extroverted nature and directness, he is very susceptible to well-executed trickery. He is a rather gullible person overall, aside from more serious situations where he can be a bit more mentally focused.
Curiosity kills most cats, and has certainly endangered Elliot and will continue endangering him as he doesn't mind poking his nose into any kind of business that intrigues him. While this can be annoying in social situations, it is especially dangerous when he, a kid, comes up against a potential villain. This curiosity may also fuel his love for architecture and his tendency to be a pyromaniac. He doesn't intentionally try to hurt things, so he'll immediately put any fires he caused from his love of fire. As for his love of architecture, he is shallowly studious on the subject but more so enjoys being a purveyor.
Elliot is a man of positivity and dislikes an abundance of pessimism, and as such will either demand someone to not bring that negative energy or will try to counter it with his own positivity. As for loyalty, he is a very loyal and protective person whether it be his duty or through the bonds he has made. Due to this, betrayal is something he cannot handle well. If he is betrayed, it can send him into a fit of rage where someone close to him will have to help bring him down. Elliot acts the same way when it comes to protecting someone, preferring himself to take any harm that would come another's way.
The only thing he asks of people is for them to be honest with him. Especially since he's gullible, dishonesty for the most evil reasons is an easy way to make an enemy of the Ifrit.
Elliot speaks with a Latin accent and has a moderately deep voice.

HISTORY
Elliot is still young, and as such much of his history has yet to unfold. However, that doesn't mean he is devoid of pain and confusion. He has had plenty of experiences to shape him, especially since the majority of his childhood was spent as a military child. The spunk when outside of formal settings comes from his rebellion and yet he was disciplined to respect any ranking officer and be well-mannered when it requires it. The child was technically of American descent, his father being part of the U.S. Military. As such, the majority of his initial childhood was spent rather sheltered.
Especially since his quirk was considered monstrous and was a well-kept secret. When Elliot was born, his mother's life was taken. Something that he had known the cause of for many years, but before being adopted by a family in Japan he would not know. His father, regardless, made sure the boy was kept busy in any form that would require great focus. Either forcing him into studying new subjects and new languages or allowing him to lose all frustration in the gym, the man wanted Elliot to remain distracted. What he didn't know was that internalized the pain and confusion that brewed from unanswered questions.
The Ifrit was home-schooled before his time at U.A. and such, new little of his quirk or why a few times a year he had blank spots in his memory. This would eventually come to a head as he was often a victim to many cruel jokes of the fellow military brats. Elliot, at the time, was very good about internalizing and bottling his emotions so he seemed to always shrug off the jokes. When it came time to moving to Japan, Elliot couldn't handle the cruelty of the other children for much longer. With the coldness of his father and the cruelty of his peers, Elliot became overwhelmed.
The last awful cruelty of his peers came from taking him to the wilderness not far from the military base in Japan. They had claimed they wanted him to join them in a journey to a cave of wonders, something simplified as Japanese folklore. Being a wayfarer and purveyor of architecture and wilderness, the boy joined. Elliot didn't know what they were going to do, and when they approached the cave. They claimed a sacrifice was needed, the younger Elliot being eager to please and explore further. Accepting blindly, the cruel leader of the pack had his goons subdue the boy and that is when he took Elliot's ring finger. Crying out in pain, it all became too much.
Coming to a bursting head, Elliot blacked out again. When he awoke, he was shackled and surrounded by the rifles of soldiers. Trying to look around him, he was forced to continue looking forward. A hero confronted him, one sanctioned by the laws of the Japanese government, and commanded the soldiers release the boy. Unsure of what was happening, it would soon become apparent. Something terrible happened, and they were ready to execute the boy for being an "abomination". Slowly while bound, memories flashed in. Memories of complete red. Memories of fire. Memories of fearful faces and also memories of stoic faces wearing black sunglasses.
For a year, Elliot didn't understand but he was saved by the hero. Never again would he hear the coldness of his father or deal with the cruel jokes of his peers. Being released to the hero, it wasn't long before he was adopted by a foster family and...that is when he learned of his quirk. Elliot could become a monster, it seemed, and the more he learned of his quirk the more his blank spots revealed what they really were. All the supposed blankness would eventually clear, starting from the most recent memories to the earliest memories of his life.
To start off, the children were all severely injured but they were not dead. No, the only casualty of his monstrosity was his father. Subconsciously, the boy was able to show constraint even after brutally injuring his former peers. But his father was attempting to shoot him down and kill his own son. That was unforgivable, so the monster inside of Elliot burnt his father to a crisp. This was thankfully still kept quiet and only known by those who worked with his father at the time. Then it would show the outbursts and Elliot being lost and leaving the military bases consistently, to the point where his father was often transferred by the highest ranking official there.
The outbursts upset Elliot, but when he learned that he had...been born as the monster and that it took too much out of his mother, it made the boy hate himself. The year before joining U.A., he often sought the wisdom of the hero who saved his life for guidance. Guidance on how to keep the monster internalized, but the hero opted to not let the young Drake to succumb to his fears and demons. No, the hero let that year be a build-up to the eventual goal of letting Elliot work to redeem himself. Helping the boy understand his quirk and figure out its conditions, it helped ground Elliot.
Still, Elliot felt the need to keep his quirk a secret from all but his family and this mentor. All until the mentor encouraged him to attend U.A. and let his power be known. When he participated in the test for those who registered, at first he seemed little in terms of a threat. Scared and focused on avoiding all of the mechanized terrors, it seemed like a lost cause. Elliot at the time had an energy that would make it uncharacteristic of himself, but he began having a panic attack. Hyperventilating, eventually the boy let his body seemingly explode in wild growth, becoming the monster he had internalized and showing off most of the way.
It was the wild beast that amazed those around him, and he became a shoe-in for U.A. The issue wasn't his realized potential in those few minutes, but helping him tap into that potential when he needed or even if he wanted to at all. The Elliot before entering UA would not be the same as the one beginning his classes. Extroversion was discarded while anxiety took control of the Ifrit. It was to a point that he would be transferred had he not been willing to explore his quirk more, which finally pushed him to embrace it fully.
Everything was great, allowing the boy to do much better in school and the peers around him hadn't been terrible to him. He was then able to show his extroverted, happy and positive nature that was too scared to come out in fear of judgment of who he "truly was". Those fears were washed away, experiencing so much as a first year student that helped shape and grow him and his quirk and by extension, his potential as a hero. But, unfortunately, his mentor had come down sick. It was a tragedy that seemed too obvious, as it was horridly timed with the rise from the abyss that Elliot experienced.
The mentor didn't have long, but he gave Elliot two options: let the tragedy so sudden consume him or grow from it. Sick of letting his past toxicity overwhelm him once more, Elliot allowed himself to grow from the loss. Someone who saved the boy in more ways than one had passed. But that wouldn't stop Elliot, so the Ifrit continued that first year determined to not only honor his former mentor, but also take further steps away from the "Monster" and towards being a "Titan". His goal was to one day be a heroic paladin rather than a demonic shade. But to the present day, he carries the burdens that not only helped shape him but may continue to harm him internally; his efforts being in hopes of shedding this pain finally.
