Disclaimer: this thread started right after Shinagawa. Thunder was kidnapped when he came ashore by Callisto's men. G was taken right after he got outside Madame Ito's Inn. Any questions please DM me. This intro post is to describe what you see. You can respond per round, there is no necessary post order. It had been long waiting for tonight but it was finally there. And with finally, Callisto even meant that she could drop down on her chair and enjoy the fun herself. The prisoners or well she prefered the word contesters would be brought in, any minute. She would only have to motivate them. The last invitation had been sent about an hour before the fight was to start, so people had time to come. It was obvious that it was sold out. Now to gather the thoughts of entertainment, there was a lot of merchandise to be sold, but not the ones that would require higher-ups to give her permission. Just the things you would be interested at during such a fight. Popcorn, for example, it was her idea now to buy a cup of the buttery delight, she could even through it at them if she didn't like it. The Demon was ready for the party. Her left leg swung over the left armrest. Not yet, they would come and bring her popcorn if she wanted. However, her eyes narrowly kept an eye on the betting people, their voices carrying in the get-together around her. Yes, the betting was the most fun. 83 on Thunder and 79 on G, pity. If the distance was bigger, she would have put a few more coins in it, but this was okay. Not everyone placed their bets yet, some prefer to wait till a few attacks have happened. It took too long, the gas shouldn't take that long to knock them out, she swore she heard the thump when she was downstairs but now it took a while to get them upstairs. Surely, they had been annoying, needing to recover their fragile little thought process, to stop them from flipping, freaking out or any other emotion that would bring harm to the party. Nope, that's not how it happened. But now the arena seemed to be filled. Obviously it wasn't really an arena, the room was too small for that, but easy to handle. At every entrance on both sides stood a guard, on the outside they wore an eagle mask, the ones on the inside, those she could see wore a lion mask. They all had their jobs and duties, and there were more than those just simply standing. Not only those that collected the tickets and made sure everyone behaved, no but those eyes who you did not see, did not make you wonder. Callisto smiled a little, she heard the sound of the wires from down there. The floor would open in a bit and the two would be brought up, no chairs, no weapons. Just a plain old fistfight, including quirks though. But that was the fun of it. Behind Thunder, which was the east side of the stands were enough people dressed in black and other dark colours as if they knew the theme. A lot were masked, like her guards. Callisto herself couldn't care less about the hiding, it wasn't as if anyone knew who she was except for Jupiter-sama. They would have a perfect vision of the King. There was a bit of space between the front row and the cage where Thundershock and G would be fighting in a bit. She sat up straight now that they got up. "Ladies and Gentleman, get ready for the fight of a century. I still have to thank the person who gave this great idea to me but for now." She smiled as the chairs were removed and they were there, not yet awake. She had to jump up and speak to them in a minute as well. The cage made of special material to not conduct the Electronics also carried a webbing around it of a fine unknown material. It was all to keep the people save. "Water not included." She muttered to herself. It would be single drops though, the webbing would stop most of quirk influence, it was a really well-made idea, maybe one day, they would sell it too. Now it was time, as the two woke up to invite them to fight. So she did not speak to the audience, some front row seaters might hear it as she threatened both their families before flopping down on her chair again. The audience did not have to wait long.
Okay, so everyone just can post between the rounds, either make a posting order with your group or post within the round as you can. Follow the rounds in here Place your bets! The Eastside is for Giovanni, Narcissa, Rei and Sonya.

Giovanni arrived at the secret destination and showed his ticket, thus he was allowed free passage. He took place at sat down to observe the match that was about to start. If everything went as planned, one of the fighters would be assasinated with a well placed bullet to the head. Look at him, he was behind Thundershock himself. Oh how he wishes he could just end the man and claim his spot of power. And look at that Vigilante up ahead. Wild, uncontrolled, monstrous. He had to be put down
Did Giovanni cheer for anyone? No, he hated both of them equally. Well, he hated Thunder slightly more. Did he bet? Yes, it is vice that he cant resist. As much as he hates Thunder, Giovanni placed a bet that he will win, as word of mouth says that the Vigilantes Quirk is weak to electricity. Well if that was true, then this was a one sided match. Giovanni wondered though how one sided it was. He hoped it wouldnt be a mere bore. That would be a waste of the audiences time. Something the Plutocracy probably cant permit by any chance. Giovanni knew, people like them wanted money, just like him.

Rei's motivations in life were fairly simple nowadays, do what she wanted because it was something she enjoyed, she had the one life to live and damned if she wasn't going to live it. It was for that reason that she had ended up throwing a lot of cash for a ticket at this little throwdown, despite having no personal investment in the conflict between the fighters. Or even any real knowledge of the politics around the event. She'd seen the advertisement, thought about it a little, and then when she found out it was extremely exclusive decided 'fuck it', it was worth most of her spare cash to get a chance to see the supposed best of the underground go ham on each other.
Arriving at the venue and flashing the ticket she had, Rei was directed to the location she was allocated, the dark clothes she wore blending in with the rest of the crowd, though her 'biker girl' fashion might be a little less formal than some. She didn't bother with a mask, there weren't very many six foot nine women around so what was the point? Her Kanabo casually hanging at her side, Rei wandered over to the nearest bookie and, after considering the two combatants, decided to place a decent bet on the vigilante guy, G, to win. She didn't know either of these men from a bar of soap, but G looked like he could be one of her kind of people, and Thundershock looked like the kind of rat bastard whose face she'd wanna punch in. It was a bit of a no brainer really.
Heading towards her seat, Rei sprawled out in it as best she could with her size, idly glancing at the short, suited guy that she was sitting near before turning her attention back to the proceedings. She hoped it'd be a good show, maybe she'd see some new tricks to integrate into her own repetoire.

With her new partnership with Giovanni, it was only working for the better that the two had managed to snatch a ticket and that they would be able to come together. Surely made it easier for Narcissa, who had no idea what was where when it came to Tokyo and she could not simply ask her colleagues. If only they knew that she was here, but no Narcissa hid her pretty face behind a white mask again. Simple this time, only hiding and distracting from her eyes and facial construction so she could in case necessary still buy and sip from a drink. She was afraid though but she did doubt she would be recognized by those that should not. Besides standing around the arm of another attractive young man would be distracting enough. She rolled her eyes as he placed a bet and let go and wandered around. She eyed the security and went to find their places or well the right ones to sit down at when he was done.
"You know they just let you bet because they need money. I am sure the game is riddled." She said in a hushed whisper to Giovanni. It seemed that he was lost in thoughts and the dark-skinned woman shook her head only more. Great, so much for entertainment. She leaned back and clicked with her tongue, eyeing the woman with the horns on the podium. She seemed rather sloppy and relaxed and Narcissa wished she was at Shinagawa, that she would gather some more intel on the whole business. She crossed her legs and arms in front of her chest and simply looked as the candidates were brought up, in chairs, stuck onto those it seemed before being kicked off and the chairs were taken away. A small smile appeared on her face as she recognized the man she had seen before, oh Bubbles, you were in for a game. There was only one thing she would not tell the new client yet. So he was no hero, he was the number one Vigilante. "This sounds dull." She mumbled under her breath to herself. But what did it matter, nothing did matter.

The invitation had simply been too good to be true. How could she not resist? How could she say no? In the nondescript vehicle she took to the scene; Sonya's fingers clenched tightly together. She could feel the muscles trembling, excitement playing against her body in a ferocious timber. She took a steadying breath, the ventilator on her mask making a small hissing sound. She hadn't had time for it to be repaired after Shinagawa. No matter. She'd have time. She had to experience this. Savor it. She needed it.
The city passed her by in the back of that car. She glanced out the window only on occasion, appreciating the neon signage and tall buildings that broke into the skyline. She began to realize they weren't too far away from Shinagawa. Interesting.
That thought did not stay with her long, the car came to a stop and she drew herself up, adjusting the blackened variant of her Villain Outfit. Her hair was still white, her skin still gave off a faint glow, and her eyes still blazed with pink light, but she was far more subdued than usual. She wasted little time getting herself into the building, waving her voucher and paying the requested fee. A cruel smile tickled the corner of her lips; they needed the money after all. She lingered only momentarily on the betting booth but in the end decided against it, making her way to the arena proper. When she sat, she spotted Giovanni and Narcissa whom she greeted only with a lopsided smile before sitting down nearby.
Her eyes lingered then on the woman at the podium, oh how her pride shone through like a spotlight. And that, finally, was when Sonya laid eyes on the treats for the evening. At last; Thundershock. Her goal. Her hurdle. The next one was the vigilante. A speech was made and threats were given with less subtlety than she would have liked. She crossed her legs and put her hands in her lap; this was hardly a match for entertainment. Though some present would shout and jeer, those who truly knew what they were witnessing would sit in relative silence; This. Was an execution. | TAG WORDS NOTES

"Deneb al Okab"

Post by Celestine on Dec 26, 2019 21:34:02 GMT -4
An invitation to a secret location and the promise of a once in a life time spectacle to behold.
This was what had most recently come into the possession of Celestine, of Deneb al Okab, the masked thief of London. But London was in the distant past now, both metaphorically and quite literally given that she was currently in the city of Tokyo. More specifically, it was near the site of Shinagawa, a recent even that had seen the Plutocracy run into some trouble. Such a thing wavered her faith in the organization that had invited her to join their ranks. But now there was the promise of a high class fight involving the capture of two big names in Tokyo's world of Heroes & Martyrs. An ultraviolent summoning of both poet and thrall, the temptation was simply too good to miss out upon. And with how little Celestine still knew of the Tokyo Underworld at this point in time, it behooved her to accept the kindly invitation that had come into her possession. She was not to be a blind woman seeking out daylight, but the raven that watched over the somber darkness of the night. Such was what she had done before and would do once again when she regained her bearings.
Passing by the entrance of the event, she handed over her ticket, having had to trade away a substantial bit of money from what was left of her savings that had gone into her prospective expansion. She would need to seek out a proper job soon, what with her casual studies having come to an end recently as well. Perhaps that ASTA Corporation she had heard about of late? Engineers were something they sought in high demand and Celestine could easily fill whatever role they needed. In fact, she could excel for that matter.
Well, regardless.
Deneb passed by a betting booth as well, briefly considering placing a bet of her own. Thundershock and G... The so-called "Number One"s of the grouped together Villains & Vigilantes she had heard. Well, much as she was tempted to have a go at winning back some of the money she had spent, she didn't know either well enough to make an educated guess and she could hardly afford to lose more at this particular point in time. So instead, she proceeded past the booth, heading into the arena. From her spot at the doorway, she quickly noticed a familiar enough horned woman, Callisto. The servitor of Jupiter, Deneb knew little about Callisto in a way that differed from her vague familiarity with the likes of Thundershock and G. But regardless once again, she was here for a show and perhaps, to mingle a little with what was growing to look like the more elite side of the Tokyo Underworld.
Heading down the stairs, she proceeded towards the opening near the front of the cage, drawing a few looks that usually quickly looked away from the twisted raven-like mask that adorned her face to conceal her identity. A moment more and her eyes were the ones transfixed as she caught sight of a woman who quite literally glowed upon this night, both from her body and eyes alike. Humming a little to herself, the crimson-garbed Deneb strode over towards the other masked woman. "My, you're looking quite literally radiant tonight if I may so." She briefly spoke up, her voice coming out just a bit deeper and ever so slightly distorted thanks to her mask. "Deneb al Okab. May I have this seat?" She gestured to one beside the silver-haired beauty, waiting for her acquiescence before sitting down. "I must confess, I'm rather new in town. Who would you bet on for this soiree?"
After asking the question, the masked blonde turned her head, looking out upon the two men that were set to die upon this night, soaking the arena with the opposite man's blood. Of course, given the recent events that had reached Deneb's ears, she was rather doubtful that either of them would leave the arena alive when it was all said and done. And yet, there was no feeling of tragedy for this event. No, a sadistic side of Deneb was all too happy that she got to watch the proceedings of the evening.

"True. But alas it is a guilty pleasure." Giovanni told Narcissa. Maybe its rigged, although he had no idea how could it be. Those two dont like they'll play pretend and act as if this was wresting. Those two look like they're gonna duke it out for real. Giovanni wondered how would the Plutocracy control the match and rig it. It was something that would escape his mind.
Giovanni along with Narcissa got to their place and observed the soon to be coming match. He noticed a certain someone was there. Someone familiar. Was it his opera friend? She greeted them with only a lopsided smile before sitting down nearby. Giovanni greeted her the same way, before turning to look at the arena. And it looked like he looked back right on time as there was a bug monster in the field out of nowhere and charging to attack Thunder. By the looks of it, the monsters claw managed to get Thunder, but it was not a lethal attack as Thundershock moved his head on time.
Giovanni watched carefully and listened to what anyone would say, in this case Thundershock who threw a name. Kai "Oh shit, write that down. Write that down" Giovanni thought to himself. Buuut, he had nothing to write on, nor did he have a pen now with him

It seemed that the two combatants were off to a quick start, that vigilante guy summoning up some kind of weird bug creature that had Rei frowning slightly. Seems he wasn't the kind to get his own hands dirty, a point against him thus far, though of course she hadn't seen enough of him to know for sure if he'd rely too heavily on his quirk instead of being able to actually do anything himself. Slurping at the sake she had bought from the bar as she watched, the large woman took in the way the bug moved as it attacked Thundershock, and said sparkplug's response to the intial attacks. Seems she'd underestimated the villain's attitude at least in terms of combat as he took a blow and promptly attempted to flip his opponent's summon. Considering his name, obvious theme, and flashy power, she'd expected him to be the one over-reliant on his quirk, but instead he was using some level of martial arts in his fight.
The fight was just warming up, but Rei couldn't help some level of awareness of those around her, and it amused her. While she was obviously focused on what was going on in the arena, that didn't mean she wasn't going to listen in to their conversations where she could. She didn't know anything about any of these people, but you never know when things might happen that would require knowledge. With that in mind she was careful to casually note down the appearances of those around her and generally keep track of their little conversations.
Snorting as she poured some more sake and downed it in a gulp, she couldn't help but frown at the fight. Thus far it hadn't really been anything interesting, and though it was early on, she was liking G less and less as he hung back and let his giant bug thing fight. Tapping her fingers against the pommel of her kanabo, Rei focused her attention on the bug itself to watch how it moved and what it did. It seemed to be the one that fought most like her on the whole field. Poor bug, being stuck to someone who hadn't moved to fight his own battles yet. She knew that feeling quite well.

She rolled her eyes, what was a guilty pleasure about this, "I hope you mean the spending money." Right she wasn't the right person to come along but she wanted to get her eyes on these people, number one of different factions so to say. Factions that society picked but it was a very interesting thing to consider. Narcissa simply sat besides Giovanni and watched the spectacle. She looked up when she noticed someone that looked familiar and when she turned her face, including mask it was easy to spot her friend Sonya and she heaved her head a little in the same silent style of greeting before she turned around. Considering the conspiracy theories flying around this setting it was that the whole organisation did not want people connected to come around and thus she pretend to know not too much people.
First blood was drawn, so that summon as that was what Narcissa assumed was functional as well, something Bubbles might have already known. She definitely looked unamused, the scowl on her face even made it clear that she was disgusted by the whole performance and she looked shortly at the demon looking woman that sat in the chair next to some sort throne looking spot. Did not seemed to be much amused either until she sat up a little, but that probably had to do with the fight. "As if he did not already have a scar on his eye." Narcissa muttered under her breath, maybe that was simply Thundershocks weak point, you never knew, but that was her point, she had to find out what would easily make him fall. That was going to be one hell of a search and actually it wasn't more to get it for her own safity. Her own anxiety kicked in, there was no way to flee out of this establishment if something bad would happen and it made her nervous as hell. She could barely sit still.
"This looks like a baby show." She muttered to Giovanni, no idea exactly what his idea was in this matter or why he wanted to be here. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer in this case? She looked shortly at Sonya still who was joined by someone else. She heard that the blonde (or that's what Narcissa though her hair was in this dark spectator side) was new too, well you have to play your cards quick in this game, that was sure. She looked around, but some people looked really hyped and here she looked plain bored.

Ishtar crossed her legs, lifting them just enough to straighten her dress. Her eyes were locked on the field of battle while words began to exchange. A voice whispered out next to her; flattering her. Her glowing pink eyes did not budge from what she was truly focused on, this was far more important to her than any pleasure of the flesh. She'd appreciate the view later. She instead simply raised her hand in offering, allowing the newcomer to sit. She only leaned back when the men woke up and began trying to figure out where they were. A smile curled across her lips and she glanced in the direction of the young woman and her...interesting mask.
"Bet? What is the point of betting on this?" She asked, amusement playing on her features. Her eyes lingered on the face of the woman presiding over the events. "Look at her," She shook her head and said in a low voice; "The Plutocracy is angry, it is thrashing about, wounded after the events of Shinagawa. It tries to play it off as less than it was, but the drug that they introduced was a tremendous investment that was lost. Despite efforts to the contrary, word will get out about it's... side effect... and fewer and fewer will be interested in using it." She waved a delicate hand before her. "All of this is going to backfire spectacularly and I want to be on the front row," She controlled the scowl that was boiling up.
Besides... no one kills Thunder Shock but me.
And so the fight began.
The initial exchange of blows answered a few questions for Ishtar. What was G capable of; first and foremost. She'd found so little about the man she didn't know what his quirk entailed. This... insect that he controlled was fascinating. Next was the raw ability that Thundershock possessed. He wasn't someone she could beat in a head on fight; as much as she thought her quirk was evolving and becoming stronger. Something else began to dawn on her too, while she watched. The man was... changed. Ishtar's unbroken focus on the man was strenghened by her need to know him. Understand him. Overcome him. He was more than a possible rival. He was her goal. Her hurdle.
"...he's broken too..." She mumured, her eyes narrowing. "...how long have you been like this?" Her knuckles had gone white. "...show me it. Show me..." She hissed. "I need to see it." | TAG WORDS NOTES

Giovanni didnt comment much as he focused and observed the two foes go at it. He watched as the bugs claw glowed purple, but the Thunder judo threw the bug before it could do something. He wondered what was that attack all about. Narcissa called this a baby show. Giovanni just shrugged. He didnt comment. Instead he watched. The bug was slammed on the ground and Thunder went to stomp on it. But the bug wisely opened its mouth and chomped Thunder as if it was a bear trap "Yes!" Giovanni said very delighted. Sure he betted for Thunder to win. But seeing that pained look on his face was worth it
He observed the battle as Thunder soon prepared the payback for the pain. He looked at Sonya to see how she was holding up. She also seemed to be in her world, so he turned to Narcissa "So... baby show, eh? I dunno. I enjoy the sight of watching people fight for my pleasure. Must be the remnant of my inner roman" he said as indeed, in ye olden times. Romans watched Gladiators, slaves fight for their amusement. Giovanni enjoyed this. It was in his blood. He only regrets he didnt organize this.

Oho... It seemed that her new acquaintance had a bit more insight on what was going on than others in the crowd did. After all, she could hear them too. The cheers and jeers, the calls for blood and laughter that filled the air. Their minds weren't on the bigger picture, but this one event that played a small role in the greater whole. This was a statement of intent, a declaration that the Plutocracy would not be so easily snubbed again. And more than that, it was a declaration that no one would be safe from them, not even the ones who would be considered at the pinnacle of their respective "groups". That said... Celestine had to admit, this MARINE drug that had appeared at the now infamous auction was a mighty curious thing. Theories already abounded, most claiming that it was an evolution of the drug that had appeared during the Semper Fi incident. But, that wasn't why Celstine was here. No, she was here for a show at the end of the day.
And as she witnessed the appearance of a bug-like creature appear between the two combatants, she had no doubt she would get it. Especially as the creature charged forth into battle, Thundershock reacting with a simple yet effective throw in response. The creature continued to fight back, though. From what she was seeing so far, Celestine had to admit that she had yet to see a Quirk like G's. And yet, she had heard there were those in Japan with a "Summoning" type of Quirk that was able to call upon something else to fight for them, though whatever boons the Quirk gave were more often than not for the thing that was "Summoned" rather than the actual summoner in this scenario.
Another sound reached the masked Villainess' ears, a glance over at her new acquaintance quickly indicating the source. Her glistening gaze was focused on the battle- No, it was focused on one of the combatants in particular. The one called Thundershock.
"Broken, is it...?" She quietly questions the other woman, curiosity getting the better of her.

Rei leaned back in her seat with a scowl on her face, tossing back another cup of sake as she watched the fight, her fingers tapping on the pommel of her Kanabo. What sort of fight was this? For individual's touted as the 'number one' of their respective factions, she'd been expecting much more than this. Hell, the pompous looking Thundershock had been dumb enough to stomp his foot directly into the toothy maw of the vigilante's summon, what a joke.
Others may have found the fight interesting enough, but Rei was rather annoyed at how basic the match was seeming to go, even as Thundershock electrocuted the giant bug creature via the mouth, she couldn't help but think that he would have done better if he'd used that sort of attack earlier, rather than injuring his leg so severely. Legs were rather important in a fight after all, and the dispersal of the summoned creature would have been much smarter before the so called top villain could be injured.
The two men's emotional issues weren't any of her concern, and while it was interesting to see them start to get a bit more serious, Rei was feeling rather let down by the whole situation on the whole. It seemed they were both over-reliant on their superpowers rather than demonstrating what she would consider proper skill. G might have been showing some tactics in his attacks, but it was barely enough to stop her boredom.
"Tch, a couple of boys throwing tantrums, I thought I paid for a proper fight..." Rei declared, not caring who heard her. Even Thundershock's electrical explosion wasn't impressing her considering the way he triggered it. Could she beat the man herself? No, probably not, those electrical attacks would probably put her out of commission as she was. But it came across as a wild and untamed power, no hint of skill behind it. Part of her hoped they'd quit flailing around and show that they were more than just powerhouses.

She leaned with her elbow on her knee and held her chin with her hand. Yes, well, it remained a baby show and she heard the tall person on her right, a little in the row before her speak about the same. "We pay tons for a fight, they are just having issues and make this a baby show. Throwing tantrums indeed." There was nothing fighty or feisty about it and she looked at Giovanni. "Nero, you can't say that this is a proper fight?" The vigilante didn't even do anything, they were taunting each other, at least the man Sunaho warned her about was trying, to fight that big icky bug. Which was she leaned back on her hand, this should be worth her time, not that she had anything to spend it better on. This also provided her with the information that the man was still a vigilante, something to tell Bubbles about.
Oh it seemed that something would change, a foot less, she did doubt it. If this was the man that could be called King, though maybe she should not underestimate the first vigilante. After all, he did not get his spot from playing nice else he would have been a hero. What is it that made it that people picked heroes over vigilantes, bleh. She had nothing against him, as long as he stayed illegal. "What else would he use the electricity for? You think he has a running mill to create it for his house?" She snickered, that's how bored she was. It was petty probably. But the thing that was interesting was their talk, she tried to catch it, a baby name? Maybe it was worth her time, but surely not of everyone. Actually, now that she thought about it? What was a proper fight, with quirks everything was falsely and cheating, heck she would even join that herself, considering you would not see her.

The fight dragged on, the two men engaged in not only a battle of power but of wills. Ishtar leaned back in her seat and watched dispassionately. Her anger beginning to rise. This was *not* how one treated the current number one. The consequences here would be... unimaginable. Still she was also able to see the face of the current head vigilante. G was an enigma to her, but at least now with his face at the forefront of her mind she would be able to better recognize him later. She felt like she'd seen him before at least once. Curious. Her lips curled beneath her mask and she uncrossed and crossed her legs.
The tension spiked down there, even as the audience seemed to grow bored in some ways. No. They didn't see what she saw, they didn't feel what she felt. It wasn't over, not for a long shot.
