When she woke up, it took a bit to realize what day it was. Not teaching had given her not a real structure throughout the day and thus she turned around. Stretched a little by pushing her arms and legs as far away from each other as she could and roll up again in her blankets. It was that she looked at her phone and realized it was today. Her birthday! Normally you could consider this something great but instead, Nimue hid her face in her pillow.
Sometimes you had to simply face the facts. There were two people less in her life than last year. And even if last year she had not bumped into her father, she believed he was out there. She could have felt it in her bones and she would one day find him. She had found him, but now he was no longer among the living. Weeks ago, she had gotten a phone call from the police asking her a few questions about a day she now could not remember and if she was able to come to the hospital as quick as possible. That's when she saw, well a disgusting version, of Oz' body. She mumbled a few words in Xhosa before turning her face better into her pillow and cry. It was just a way of releasing the stress that has been stacking within her mind and soul. They would not return and one she mourned every day and would so for the rest of her life, the other and that might make it worse, she could not care about. It wasn't fair, he deserved his peace as well and she wasn't even sure how much peace he would get in the heavens, another thought that made her think worse of herself.
With no plans for the rest of the day, she decided, for now, to stay in bed. Though change came rather soon with that as she did not like the crying and feeling guilty as hell. Nope, it was her birthday, she should do something nice. Glancing at her phone, she wondered if she should text some people, have a get-together. But again it felt like something she wasn't allowed to do nor should do. She wasn't in the mood, maybe tonight? She did not feel like anything and stretched again. Thank god she had not told everyone her birthday else there would be a lot of messages now, or well a few. She at least got a static "Happy Birthday - your mother" text message. Silly, how she still ended her text with that even if she had saved her number and thus knew it was her mother. She got one from Cal but that was it. And that was absolutely fine.
She scrambled out of bed and managed to get to the bathroom to refresh and to get into the kitchen and fix herself some breakfast. Not that she felt like eating anything but this was how her birthday began.
Like any normal regular Saturday.

It was Nimue's birthday and he wanted today to be special to her, thats why he drove over to her place to visit her. Once the car was parked, he happily and quickly went to her door and knocked. He was excited, he wanted to take her somewhere very nice for her birthday. After everything she went through, she deserves all the best things in life. And today he planned a nice and wholesome trip for her. Giovanni figured he could avoid the generic birthday gifts, so he figured that a lovely time and a lovely destination would be unique enough
As he waited for Nimue to arrive and unlock the door, he thought ahead, planned ahead and even daydreamed a bit. She deserves happiness and smiles. Always, a hard working nurse who looked at others before herself. Giovanni felt he needed to be the one to look after her. Make sure there was no sorrow in her life, but only joy. Today was her birthday, a new year and soon even a new begining. How old was she now? He guessed they were maybe around the same age right about now. But those are details. Nimue come here, so he can see you

She looked up with the toast still in her mouth. Who would that be? She had no idea, maybe Kuro got in trouble, at the wrong balcony and they would maybe just ask her to keep the cat with her. Anything could happen and she put the toast down and quickly munched on it while walking to the door. She opened it without checking the hole as she simply thought that she would not let the person wait any longer and she stared surprised at her boyfriend. Did she forgot that she invited him? No, she was sure she had not done so, she was sure that she had done no such thing. Yes, she told him recently it was her birthday, two weeks ago to be exact but she had also said nothing else really about it.
Her mind kept on firing words such as What are you doing here?! but those words were rude. "Giovanni, you surprised me, ehm. Come in?" She took a step aside and well this was awkward, she should definitely hide in her bedroom first, she was just wearing a t-shirt and had not thought about jeans or so yet because she was just thinking about what to do today. Groceries maybe? Anything really. "Hang on." She told him as he came inside and she closed the door behind him and quickly hurried with a red face to her bedroom to quickly find a pair of dark coloured jeans and swap her t-shirt for a sweater before showing up again. Her hair was maybe a little more ruffled and she felt like she was hungry but she could wait, what was going on? Anything bad? God she did not want to go through that form again, that arrest had been weird but why would Giovanni be here for that. Focus brain, for heaven's sake. She tried to look surprised and happy but that was quite difficult.

As soon as Nimue opened the door, he gave her a bouqet of flowers and said "Happy birthday!!" and kissed her on the cheek, twice. One kiss per cheek. He then eagerly said to her "Today is your day and I want you to cancel anything you might have. No work, no calls, no nothing." he said and then finally entered her home when she told him to come in.
He wanted to let her have the best day of her life for her birthday. Free from any burden life gave her. Just happiness and joy, with him of course. He was so eager and excited to just whisk her away, mentally he was already there and daydreaming that for a second he needed to be snapped back to reality. But could one blame him for wanting to give her the best birthday ever. He just wanted to hold her and never let her go. Could that be selfish? Well, he didnt care if it was. She was his.
Giovanni watched her with the bouqet and smiled to her, he liked surprising her like this. Her expression was always priceless, it was just so great to be in her presence. As she was putting the bouqet away, he just enjoyed the nice view he had

She almost jumped in surprise because of the flowers almost in her face and well the surprise. Yes, definitely. She didn't manage to say words only stammer and stutter while he kissed her on the cheeks. They did not eh.. they didn't have a date right? Did he just come by? By surprise for sure. "O-oh o-okay." She managed and nodded, where was her phone even she wasn't even sure where it was and god she wasn't dressed for this and she should get to her room and quickly finished that and put on jeans and finish her breakfast or wait did he want breakfast.
She was so lost in her way of today that she was quickly going to her room. Putting the flowers on her bed before realizing that didn't work but she had to hurry and put on jeans and another t-shirt and the like, no sweater that would be better and she moved on, in rapid speed. Quickly, quickly, hurry! Hurry. She came out of her bedroom, flustered about her own behaviour and Giovanni's. "I mean thanks for the flowers, they are really pretty." And colourful which she liked best and she would hurry to the kitchen, take a bite of her toast and noticed her phone next to the sink as she went to find a vase and put the flowers in. When all that was done she finally could take a breathing break and stared at the flowers and even smelled them while she took a second bite of her toast. "You want anything to drink." She said putting her phone in her back pocket after she was sure it was silenced. Today was a weird day and it had changed from a regular Saturday even though it was her twenty-fifth birthday to a hectic one.

Nimue rushed to put the flowers in their place and then she rushed to take a bite of breakfast. All in all, she rushed all over the place. After which she thanked him for the flowers, which made him smile "Pretty flowers for a pretty woman~" he said. And then Nimue after getting a bite of toast, she asked Giovanni if he'd love to have a drink. "No thanks. I am eager to make this day an unforgettable one~"
Indeed, he wanted to give his gift to Nimue. Which was not a tangible one per say. It was memories. He wanted to make this an unforgettable day for her. He wanted to spoil her good. He looked at Nimue and said "Take your time though. Dont rush because I am eager. Have your meal in peace " Giovanni didnt want her to have a hectic day. Instead he wanted a calm and serene day. A joyous day. Maybe his excitement was not something that was called for. He cant have her running all around the house, granted he had it coming with the way he entered and spoke. Whoops.
Well, now he watched Nimue calm down and settle herself, and after she was done, he would tell her that they were gonna go 'somewhere'.

She was all over the place, she went left to right and the other way around and quickly took a bite, and her shirt was the other way around so she had to change it and the flowers in the vase and thank him and where was she again? She blushed a little when he said no to the drink but wanted to make an unforgettable day. And she wasn't sure what was going on. "Should I switch off my phone?" She asked because she really had no idea what to expect and thus no idea what to do so she would just ask it and quickly check her outfit and fix her hair a little in the mirror before turning back to her boyfriend. Which was a crazy word to even think? But the word made her even giddy and she kissed him on the cheek to go and find her sneakers, as she assumed they were going out considering he had his jacket still on.
She shook her head and made a scoffed sound. "You are eager so of course I am rushing. I want to know what it is." She looked over her shoulder at the kitchen and the last piece of her toast and shook her head, "Nope, I am full." Yes with excitement, adrenaline and butterflies so she wasn't even hungry anymore. She was done and showed up in front of him again with her coat on and she grinned, "Boo, somewhere? Where are we going?" She said with pulling out her tongue as she did not like the answer at all. She danced a sort of to her door, yes the last time they met she was maybe a bit down but they talked and she felt supported and now she wanted to be happy for today. It was probably better than just sitting at home like any regular other Saturday.

Nimue asked should she switch off her phone. Giovanni replied "Ah si. That could be good. I want this to be Nimue day~"
She kissed him on the cheek before searching for the sneakers. He blushed.
Giovanni said she shouldnt panic and rush, but Nimue said since he's excited then so is she. She is eager to see what and why. With excitement and adrenaline, she was really to go.
"Its a surprise~" he said and grabbed her hand, because he wanted to hold it. "First we go to the car thats parked outside. I will only say roadtrip. But not the destination" he didnt wanna say Disneyland. Maybe he'll show her the tickets in the car. Or maybe he'll let her guess. Depends on his mood.
He was happy Nimue was happy. So he opened the door for her and let her go out. He also escorted her to the car and of course as per usual, he opened the car door for her like a gentleman. Once his lil lady was settled, he sat at the drivers seat, put his seatbelt and turned the car so they could drive. He had a smile on his face. He was eager to take her to disneyland. |

She wasn't even sure where she had put her phone. It had been so messy and she found the little cell phone in her kitchen and switched it off, maybe she should not take it along but you never knew what would happen. She could take the day off for her birthday, right? Legally? Would the police need her today? They did not know it was her- no time to think about that. She kissed her boyfriend on his cheek, also because she wanted to as well as because she was happy he did not forget and came even if they had no appointment. Even better he had gotten her a present and she wasn't sure what it was about. Normally she hated surprises but seeing his excitement, it was already enough, it did not matter what it was. She put her sneakers on and was ready to go. "What if I do not like surprises?" She pouted but the tone of her voice was clearly teasing when he said it so and she responded, letting him hold her hand and take her outside, she managed to quickly close the door and lock it before being brought to the car and she nodded, okay so it was the destination.
Hm where could they go in the winter? She wasn't sure but it was surely a curiousity matter and she would giggle a little as he opened the door of the car for her and let her sit down before closing the door for her again and turning to his seat. Yes, that was the same as their first unofficial date and it was still something she really liked. She would put the seatbelt on and watched him drive, the smile on his face was to die for but she also wanted to see where he was driving towards. Something to guess?

"If you do not like surprises. You can always guess before we get there~" Giovanni said happily in reply to Nimue's earlier tease, and the two soon drove away. To Disneyland. But Nimue doesnt know that yet
Now as they drove, Giovani kept his eyes on the road. But he disliked silence. "Sooo roadtrip. Do you want to listen to music or make your guesses as to what is our destination?" he said as he went to start up a conversation. Indeed he disliked silence, it was as if he was in solitary confinement. Just him alone in silence and solitude. He disliked that indeed. He always had to hear something around him. The sound of freedom.
For a second, he glanced at Nimue to see how she was doing and what she was doing, but of course it lasted for a second, as his gaze returned to the road. He was satisfied to see he ran into green lights only. They were free to go and not stopping anytime soon. Disneyland, here we come.
Giovanni wondered what would be Nimues reaction upon arrival. Would she have any places she would wish to see. Well, all the more reason for him to get there.

"I am also not good at guesses." She teased as he seemed so casual and happy. Always there seemed to be something that happened to ruin their mood. Or was she now thinking utterly negative? Phonecalls, kids pushing them, her bad thoughts, anything really. But she did not want that now, she wanted her birthday to be filled with the way he looked. The happy look on his face.
She looked out of the window, having no idea about him disliking silence. She was thinking, wondering if she could find hints in where they were going. But well it was just the road within Musutafu and they seemed to be headed to Tokyo, "Can I get hints to the destination? All I see now is you drive out of Musutafu but on the way to Tokyo, that's always the same road." So there were no hints in that and she reluctantly turned her eyes away from the window, convincing her it did not hold any secrets as of yet. She looked at him and there was a look of dislike on his face and was it because of her guesses? She grinned at him when he met her eyes shortly and she snickered a little, "Sooo hints?"

Nimue said that she wasnt good at guesses, but that was more of a tease. Giovanni just drove there. Nimue looked out the window, and the fnally spoke up. A destination... a hint to that destiation. Giovanni pondered "Hmmm" he thought what could he say without giving it away. Then he spoke "I'm taking you to the happiest place on Earth" it was the slogan. And that was all he could say, without giving it away. Unless she knew the slogan? Awh shit if she knows. Ah well.
He then glanced at her and their eyes met. She snickered and he blushed a bit. He wanted to look away and turn his head, but couldnt as his gaze was supposed to be focused on the road. And thats what he did. He waited for her to guess and he wondered if she would get it first try. Well, he guessed she would because she is very smart. Surely she'd know. But even if she didnt, thats all the better for him because then it will turn out to be a surprise after all. And it would give her an idea what kind of destination were they going to for her birthday |

She looked back at him, happy today. Yea, that was a good thing and she was so glad he came now that she thought about it. Surely it had gone right but she could have ruined it two weeks ago, no such thing happened and they would hopefully still spend Christmas together, should she ask him that? Was it still a given, wait, no she was going to not think about that. she was not going to hurry, she was going to enjoy today. "The happiest place on Earth?" She repeated, she seriously had no idea, "I am already happy if you are around me." She teased again, yes, she wanted to do this, she wanted to thank him for making her happy and make him happy in return to that. She smiled, but looked outside, "It's in Tokyo." Was all she said because obviously that was the way they were driving but what was considered the happiest place on Earth? Eeehm.
"I have no idea." She said a little pouting but the idea was nice, "Any more hints?" How long would it be driving and how fast would that time go if they just were like this, in the car. Did she give him enough kisses this morning? Everything seemed to be so new and abrupt and she had no idea what to say, do, think, just look at him. God, he came for her and would bring her to the happiest place on Earth, "They don't have an all you can eat, chocolate bar right?" AGain a tease, she liked chocolate but not too much thank you. She pondered again, they were going to spend all day together at the happiest place on Earth. Why did it sound familiar but she had no idea what? Yes, she did need another hint for sure.

Giovanni smiled when she said that she's already happy if he is around her. "I am very happy when I am with you" he said. He wanted to kiss her, but he was driving. Nimue asked if it was in Tokyo. Giovanni avoided the question and said "It is in Japan,si"
Nimue eventually said she had no idea and thus asked for further hints. He nodded and hinted more, but she didnt get it. Nimue teased again, but as Giovanni realized they were nearing the place. He asked her to close her eyes and no peeking. He asked her to even place her hands to cover her eyes.
When she did that, he arrived at the destination and parked, he still said no peeking. So, he got out and helped her out, guiding her to the entrance of the amusement park. He then told her "Ok, one final guess. After that you can open your eyes and see"
They stood there infront of the entance, he wanted to see what she would say with the surrounding sounds she has to give her a hint. He also was excited to see her reaction. He smiled like a lil schoolgirl, he was childish indeed

She fumbled with her fingers because it was awkward to talk like that and not be able to do anything about it. The romance might even be too much for her, she loved it. She was so happy with it, it's what she wanted, she felt so stupidly romantic, that this was so strange to consider possible. So she had to continue and she nodded right, Japan, good. She was not sure what it was, it was just that she wasn't used to it and therefore the idea of a theme park did not cross her mind, it was definitely something she would never consider. She looked at him with a frown but she wasn't sure, she nodded and blocked her eyes with her hands as well as that she had them closed. Putting the palm of her hands against her eyes and she wasn't sure how to work with it. "Alright, alright, it just feels very weird." She laughed a little, but she was so nervous and she heard him get out of the car and let him help her get out, moving one hand in front of both eyes to simply get a hold of his hand so she felt less unstable.
"I don't have a final guess." But she heard a lot of noise, quickly identifying it as children noises. "I don't get it, kids? Ehm. I don't know the zoo?" It was the best thing she could think of. She lowered her hand and looked at him, the smile on his face was really attractive and she looked at him before looking further with surprise and her mouth fell open a little bit, "Wow." She stared at the signs, the colours, the people, "Wow." Yes, you could say that Nimue was speechless. She had no other words for this, she wanted to say this was amazing but she had not expected this, what.
