She had been locked up so to say for ages. To wait for it to happen, to figure out the strings of stuff she did not understand and did not figure out yet so quickly. It should be done faster, it should be done better but she didn't. She wasn't sure where to start, some results came back and some did not, or not as she expected them which had brought her research immediately a step back. It was tiring, it was difficult and she needed some fresh air. She looked at her phone and the chats, but she was not reading, only mindlessly scrolling through. Maybe she should text Giovanni now, but she still had not made a decision. With the research not going as well as she hoped, though not surprising as she seriously had no ideas much about what it was made off, it was a difficult guess. But maybe she was not made for that as well and she wasn't sure how to say that as well.
She got up and looked at the idea that Serperior had texted. Weeks ago and she would really think about it. She did not intend to demonstrate or lose her job if she wasn't determined yet to lose it. Pro-heroes were there for the society. For the people that needed help, that was her job. But how would she perform that job as a doctor if she would not be allowed to use her quirk? There might be solutions, there might be ways but the most effective one. "I got it." She muttered to herself and she put everything down and took her phone and bag and coat and locked the little lab door behind her and walked towards the elevator. Normally she would take the stairs but she had to send a few texts.
Then she quickly hurried to the front desk of the hospital to tell that she would be absent for the rest of the day. For now at least and that she needed fresh air to clear her mind. She went to find the little card in her bag and texted Deguchi. The second person on her list.
Now that everything was arranged she would have to make her way to another part of Tokyo as soon as she could. She would have to find a spot to redress, that would be cold outside but the safest bet. Her uniform so important and she ran to a store to buy as much of the stuff she needed for her first aid kit. Yes, everything was important and she needed enough and she needed to spread the word, or maybe that would work for itself eventually.

As ever, Deguchi's impulses were driven by a mixture of opportunity, an unfortunate social climate for quirkers in Japan, and a dash of hope and aspiration. She knew she'd made a good decision meeting Nimue earlier, not just for the chance to make a friend among UA's staff, but also, to find an opportunity to really get on the ground level, seeing where quirkers really were making a difference in communities. The quirk tax had been a new call to action for the small-sized Party of All People and now, Deguchi herself was looking to attack it from any angle possible. Here, Nimue had offered her the perfect chance to gather ammunition.
Nimue might have thought that she was asking for a favor from the newly-minted politician, but in actuality, Deguchi couldn't help but see this as a gift that had been served up to her when she needed it most.
At any rate, Deguchi knew it would appear a little callous to walk in with that gratitude plastered all over her face in a big grin, so she did her best to temper her emotions and act professional. She watched her face in her van's rear view mirror as she worked the wheel, making sure she wore her best assimilation of a "normal face" that it was possible for her to make, given her facial challenges. Her tongue flapped out, in defiance of her efforts.
"At any rate, the important thing to remember is that I'm genuine. After all, this quirk tax was a nail driven hard into every quirker's flesh, but it's only the latest in a series of mistreatment that has galvanized my career," she thought to herself inspirationally... although "my aspirations" would be more accurate than "my career," seeing as her career in politics was less than a year old. "Nakahara-san correctly called on the most motivated person to help with this task!"
Deguchi found a safe place to park and pulled over in her suspicious white campaign van, with its striped barber pole drawing attention to her before she stepped out, wearing her cherry red suit and garishly striped tie. One might have expected her to come dressed down a bit, but truth be told, this was pretty much what she wore everywhere... not just for branding, but also, because she just didn't like her look in anything else.
The only issue now: she'd reported to the meetup spot, but Nimue was still busy with various errands getting ready for the day's work. Hotarubi Deguchi straightened her tie again, then pulled out her smartphone and opened the recorder app. "Testing, tessssss-" she hissed into it, before shaking her head, rolling in her tongue, and resolving to start over. "Testing, testing!" She played back the recording, then gave a suspicious smile of satisfaction. Her eyes stayed on the phone as she began to swipe through her news feeds with one thumb, allowing her to consume a tailored mix of useful political information and sensational quirk stories that were important to know if she was going to keep herself topically savvy.

This is something that she was not expecting after finishing the operation. Immediately after the operation finishes p, she gets news about a tax on all quirkers being passed without a hitch. Normally she wouldn't worry about something like this due to detail about increased budget for the police department. HOWEVER they cut god damn funding to research and schools which is REALLY FUCKING STUPID. How did it even pass or was this some sort of plan to distract us from this? Like why the hell did the government do this sort of bullshit that would add more cuts to her pay. Oh but law enforcement would get additional budget...THE DIVISION DONT GET ANY OF THAT. The only shit the division gets from this is just more damaged and old equipment they like to give to us as a sign of pity. It's the most asinine decision this god damn government has done yet.
Work has not been easy for the hounds. Rising crime rates multiple officers pulling double or even triple shifts just to be on call. Many of the guys started sleeping at the office and the dispatchers have been doing double shifts just to get the calls that keep coming in. Freya has been doing the same and has been home in about four days Its been so god damn annoying with every new upcoming thug thinking they can do whatever the fuck they want. But catching them at least takes one more problem off the streets. But another always seems to take up their spot. No time for rest or a break as there are lives at risk at every possible corner.
The message she got from Nimue was quite the topic. Girl was planning to do a protest of her own with the whole mess caused by the government. Well… not protest but something like that. Giving free healthcare to the sick and wounded is a damn fine thing to do for the community. But then she remembered her being set aside due to various villains coming after her. However it is a chance to get a break with the lads and do some security work. Because of course a hero like Hellhound protecting the crowd, villains wouldn't think twice of attacking due to her charms.
She would text back along the lines of “Sure. Will come and bring a few others who are available to protect the crowd.” Sent the message and immediately busted down the door and yelled who wanted to do security detail and a crowd was rushing her. She would whip them back into place and take the officers who were the least overworked. The rest were on call until then and they were soon dismissed. It was the first time in a while were a sigh of relief was audible when security detail has been mentioned.
Showing up to the place wasn't that bad. A lot of faces were turning but a few were relaxed when Freya came out. Thought there would be more panic but that makes her job easier as she would tell members of her team to spread out and just watch the crowds. She would go around for a bit and look for Nimue but she was a bit preoccupied with helping people so she let her be. She takes a seat on the chair and watch the crowd for suspicious activity, keeping her radio on for anything weird.

With two bags filled with bandages, bandaid, cleaning supplies in the sense for wounds. She bought a pack of lollies in case there were kids or well simple sugar use and so on. It was time to point out what they could do with these quirks that were not creating any damage. The government had to make up for their mistake, which was another reason she called Deguchi. The one who understood the need for quirks and the school, as well as healing. She would rally without having to do so and Nimue quickly hurried back to the plaza and smiled to see the politician waiting for her. Her suits seem to work well as she was easily spotted, nice. Nimue herself was dressed in a grey outfit that hid her green hair now and most of her figure. She still did not want to be known, she had been lucky with the winter that the fight against Crowley had simply saved her looks with the hood of her jacket because of the blizzard. The snow now was gone which helped a lot.
"Thank you for coming!" She quickly said when she noticed Deguchi saw her as well and she dropped the heavy bag on the ground, the other remained on her shoulder. She would fight infections but not close wounds, she would have to do a lot and she wasn't sure how long her quirk would hold on. She gave a short bow to Deguchi but smiled, "Sorry it was such a short notice, I realized this a few minutes ago." She said with a smile though and she waved when Freya showed up not much later. She discussed shortly where they think to start but they would not have to look around much, Tokyo might be big but if you hit the smaller streets there were enough homeless. They should maybe work on building a shelter, that could be a good thing. It was not in her influence now so she would have to work on it now. "I don't really have a strategy for now. I just hoped to find some people within the allies and consider healing them. Word spreads quickly and we would be found." At the corner of this alley five people sat huddled together and even though it was her plan she was quite taken aback by it. She noticed Freya propped herself on the chair of the cafe on the corner. She frowned and looked at the grey faces, they might hope for food from the cafe. She looked shortly at Deguchi, wondering if she thought the same. But that could wait, she might buy some food for them when she was done, it might not be enough but it might be a start. Suddenly she thought about Freya and her many chicken nuggets, well it might work a little better.
She smiled a little and approached them slowly, she simply introduced herself and noticed there was a sixth, a small kid hidden by the bigger bodies and she hesitated shortly. She noticed a nasty graze on the man's face and thus she hunched down and hoped that they knew a bit about Witch Doctor but it did not seem to hit them. "I want to help you, I want to take care of your wounds for you. Anything that bothers you, you can tell me." She looked shortly up at Deguchi, not a magician with words but Deguchi might know better. She showed the inside of her bag and held the lolly up for the boy who quickly took it. It seemed that when the kid made the direct contact the parents and well maybe potential other family calmed down. Her eyes turned green and she put a bit of water on a pad and asked if she could clean the wound on the man his face. He let her touch and she indirectly touched his skin to fight any potential infection before she would continue to clean and put a bandaid on it. She continued with the others.
The cafe owner came outside and looked at what the three of them were doing and looked at Freya who got a spot occupied. "I hope you take them away, they are ruining the image of my cafe." He spoke to hellhound and he wanted to hush her away as well if she did not order anything.

Post by Hotarubi Deguchi on Jan 2, 2020 18:10:05 GMT -4
Shortly after parking her car, Hotarubi Deguchi became aware that Nimue planned to do more here than just chat or be interviewed. Rather, Nimue seemed to be running along busily with a full accompaniment of medical supplies, for the sake of tending to people on the street. "Eeeh?! She's like one of those people who just jumps out of bed and feels she has to do something nice for somebody, huh?" Deguchi thought to herself, now understanding that Nimue's agreement to meet with her in advance of her mayoral bid had probably been an act of altruism as much as anything else. The older woman appreciated the younger's hustle... it was a good reminder that sometimes, one needed to act for goodness' own sake, without expecting their back to be scratched in return. This was not a lesson many politicians took to heart.
Most didn't tend to hang around alleys full of the homeless either, but Deguchi had grown up squatting in alleys as part of her rebellious phase, so she wasn't too worried about interacting with the perhaps dangerously needy."You got it, my good friend! Want to load that stuff up in the van? There's plenty of ssssspasss-" she hissed, before finally correcting her tongue, "space in the back." As it turned out, though, Nimue had plenty to address right in the area."Oh, and I'm hoping to use the opportunity to make some recordings! You don't mind, right?"
Slowly, Deguchi's eyes followed Nimue's gaze to a short distance off. Although apparently the strangers situated there were police officers, they looked a lot more like the gangs that frequently held turf wars in Komae. The lady could easily have been one of the gang leaders from back in the day. She supposed she of all people ought not judge by appearances, but she wondered if Nimue understood that bringing scary people like this and, frankly, her metal-jawed self was going to scare her potential visitors away.
The ones seeking treatment didn't seem to be the judgmental type and once the child bought in, the rest seemed to follow. Deguchi took the cue from Nimue that she ought to put the proper frame on this experience. "My friend here seeks to use her innate abilities for the service of the public good, an admiral citizen! Yes! A socially responsible quirked citizen, if there ever was one! I encourage us all to take her example and think about how best to do good in our own communities, within the boundaries of the law," she suggested, raising her finger in a way that made her look enthusiastic, if a bit stodgy. She sounded more like she was speaking to the adults than the kids.
Perhaps sensing this, she took a moment to smile to the child as well, though her smile didn't tend to have a calming effect. She wasn't the type of politician people wanted kissing their babies. "What do you think? She did a good job, didn't she? Don't be shy, everyone- we have come out here today just for you!" Smiling a bit awkwardly, Deguchi realized she was beginning to feel like some wrestling manager more than a useful part of this operation. "Heh heh... heh... One moment, I think I know a way to help."
Deguchi ran back around to the front of her van, then backed it up just a bit towards the venue. Once she was in place, she ran to the back and opened up both doors, then hastily pushed aside several piles of her own campaign memorabilia and notes. "There! You can use the back of my van to seat people while you work," she offered, unable to sit still. Truth be told, she had spent a lot of time in hospitals for all the wrong reasons; it hadn't translated into any medical proficiency. "I also have a megaphone you can play from the vehicle, if you want to! You can even spin the pole, hehehehe..." Though why Nimue would choose to do that was anyone's guess.
As she worked, Deguchi noticed something offputting: the manager of the nearby eating establishment seemed primed to turn the police force against those assembled for help. Stepping in here was a job for a civil servant! "Excuse me, but this is a legal- and not just legal, but benevolent- event under the supervision of government employees," she protested, marching forward and holding one hand to her lapel with a finger raised scoldingly. "I'll thank you to allow us to carry out our work here, good sir!"
Of course, by the time Deguchi made her way over, Freya would probably have handled the situation herself... and her means of doing so probably wouldn't involve calling the guy "good sir."

“I need something to wake me up...should ask the guys as well if they want any..”, she said to herself in her mind. A chill assignment like this is soothing to the nerves. The calls day in and day out and the various punks that would raise hell gets real tiring after the 7th busting down their door to knock out a few of em. Most of them are cowards and big shots who want to be better but they lack the hindsight on who to pick a fight with. About 5 times outta 10 encounters would have some asshole come up to her and try to fight and then go down in once punch with tears running down his face. Nimue was a saving grace this time around as she has to watch out for any trouble makers. The team she brought along needed this and they will do their job once things start rolling.
Then comes the Cafe owner who had some choice words for Freya and her company. He was going to be THAT type now is he. “Would it kill for you to ask nicely? I was going to order something for myself and the guys but now Im seriously reconsidering it…”, Freya would lean back in the chair as she would give her usual glare at the owner. She would radio the others on what they want and most of them either want just black coffee, espresso and like one ice coffee...which was Freya's choice. As she would give the order, she would sigh and look up to the skies above, “Sometimes I wonder why I do this job at times…”, she would mutter to herself as she waits for the orders to come. But as the owner was still standing there not minding their damn business...she was about to go off when someone...peculiar arrives.
An older woman would then come strolling in to intervene in the situation. Quickly explaining the situation and why she was here, the owner would go off to get Freyas orders. Though from the looks of things she is already aware of her role in this and she seems rather...charismatic, to say the least. Not one to talk to politicians due to the explosive nature back in the states but she is a judge of good character. She would turn to the lady and relaxes her posture since this could be a friend of Nimues. “Thank ya...jobs been running me the team ragged so we ain’t exactly in the best condition to deal with small arguments…”, she would say to her as she would get the creak outta her neck.
“Names Hellhound, Im here to watch the crowd and keep the peace as...a favor to Nimue..Not familiar with your face so I'm assuming you friends with Nimue..”

"Oh that would be great." She put the bags she did not need right now in the back of Deguchi her van and looked up when the politician asked her a question about recording, "Nope, I don't mind. I thought you might ask, though ehm, would you not need to ask the people as well?" She wasn't sure how it worked but yes, since the conversation at the school Nimue had thought. They needed a politician that understood and that did dare to be out here and she wanted to learn how it worked but that could follow later, she had a lot of other things to first do.
When they finally found a spot, Nimue tried her very best, offering candy to the kid. He must be hungry, maybe they should get some proper food instead of a lolly and she looked worriedly at the others because should she offer them a lolly too? She looked at Deguchi for some silent cue to help her with words and she was glad she brought the woman along, she seemed to know exactly what to say while Nimue helped the first person. When finish the first person his wound on his cheek, which looked like it would infect, It would work, it will clean. Nkosi was right and she would take the second person, clean the face, indirectly touch them without them noticing so Nkosi could do her work. She looked up at Deguchi after she came back, Nimue had missed what she was doing, "Can you walk? It might be good to sit like that." She told the elderly woman, was this a complete family or did they become one. The frown on her face did not leave, when they moved past the cafe the owner seemed to step outside to complain to Freya. "I actually hoped other people would bring the news here." She looked over her shoulder as the owner spoke to Freya and took a deep breath while turning away from Deguchi to play the idiot as if she did not hear it was about them. She checked the woman her knee reflexes, one seemed to be a bit slow and she checked for infections, found an issue and went to find the solution of the thicker leg in her bought stuff, she was sure the woman needed to go to a hospital but she would have to find a way now.
The man probably recognizing Freya vaguely pushed the other pro-hero to get the people away from his property, he wanted to say something about that they have been here for some time already and that it was disgusting when both women start talking to him. "This is my property, sitting next to my trash cans is illegal." He wasn't even sure if it was his property, after all it was probably widely known that he rented this building, as was the normal way in Tokyo city's centre, too expensive actually but he managed to get people and he stood dumbfunded when Freya simply ordered. The way she muttered to herself, and seemed to just place an order. He wasn't sure what to do, but it meant customers so he decided to get it.

After setting up Nimue with the use of her van, Deguchi addressed the equally important task of explaining her recording procedures. "Ah ha ha, well, I would only using your voice, of course! As long as I have your consent to broadcast, that's all I'd need!" she chuckled, rubbing her hands together suspiciously. This was technically true, but she did have a habit of recording more audio than she ought to. If whatever she got was really good, she could always look into securing the name and thereby the legal right to broadcast later... it was one of those gray areas she'd spent a lot of time reading into. For a woman so concerned with law, she had a very shady browser history.
After coming to stick up for everyone's right to a legal gathering, Deguchi found the manager argumentative, but Freya defused the situation more quickly by simply placing an order. She'd rather the guy suffer a business boycott than get a patron out of it, but truth be told, her raising a stink against this guy would probably derail Nimue's efforts here. In the end, that would do more harm than good. Perhaps it was another lesson she ought to take to heart, one in picking the big picture over a moral victory.
Deguchi wasn't about to order a coffee, but she figured she might at least take the time to speak to the cop and her, frankly, scary looking entourage. Being told her face wasn't familiar was always a little discouraging... not the kind of thing a politician with their face on posters wants to hear... but she was just focusing on the mayor's seat in a small city. It wasn't surprising if folks who didn't live in Komae didn't know her face or name. At any rate, that just meant she got to do her introduction spiel, which was its own reward. She extended one hand for a firm handshake, holding the lapel of her bright red jacket with the other. "Hotarubi Deguchi, at your service! Nimue really thought of everything... these days, quirked people gathering in one place can be dangerous," she noted, tactfully omitting that it was even more so in low income areas.. not that she was one to shy away from the streets.
With a start, she clicked one finger then pointed a two-finger gun in Freya's direction. "Aaah, Hellhound-san! I know you now, yes, yes," she nodded, remembering her hero research. "What an honor, for a civil servant such as myself to observe two pro heroes on duty!" Deguchi had moved on to an obsequious series of Japanese politician nods. "I say 'duty' not to refer to your government assigned duty, but your above and beyond duties, which you take on yourselves as paragons of the community! Top notch sssssss-" she paused, raising one finger as her sizzling tongue flapped out from her metal jaw. She wagged it for a moment, then sucked it in. "Top notch stuff, that is."
She looked to the cafe, then back to Nimue. Brushing a reddish end of her odd-colored hair behind her ear, she smiled, then threw a thumb back over her shoulder. "I should go put in some more face time. Thank you for your work, officer!" the civil servant finished, moving back over to Nimue and her van. As she did, she reflected what an odd position Hellhound occupied... It was almost as though she occupied some middle space between hero and police officer. The idea had actually always seemed messy and uncomfortable to Deguchi; she was the type who liked her heroes shaking hands and letting their capes flow in the wind. Still, meeting Freya in person had improved her opinion significantly. Witnessing the pro hero use her time to watch over Nimue's outreach and also peacefully defuse a situation had given her new faith in the hero, whose name, Hellhound, had previously struck her as more of a villain name.
Again, it would behoove her not to think about how other people resembled villains, in features or in name. This was especially true as she clasped both hands together, slinking back towards the proceedings as though she had some evil intent. "Oooh, Nimue-san! Your public service puts mine to shame!" she chortled, making her recording device more obvious now by pulling it out of her pocket and pinning it to her suit's chest pocket. "You just keep doing good work and let me know if there is aaanything I can do at all to help! Here or in the future, hm hm hm!" she offered, eluding to her future in politics... which, at this point, was really still a pretty speculative proposition.

“Property rights don't mean dick when you don't actually own the place...,'' she would mutter under breath as the owner walked away. Ain’t exactly in the best mood to be dealing with people who take her for granted. She had been working nonstop for the better half of a week with little to no rest so a disgruntled cafe owner who thinks they're entitled to tell her want to ain't exactly helping her. Luckily Denguchi intervened before she could say anything more and the owner promptly went back inside to get Freya's order. Seems like she knows who Freya is...but she could chalk it up to Nimue and her personality on that one. She was rather proactive about her community which is something relieving to see these days. A good person in the right place makes all the difference like it is now. As she was going back to the Van to attend to her own business Freya had some words for her.
“I do my best, Ms. Denguchi...a pleasure meeting you and best of luck on your endeavors! ”, Freya would simply say to her as sat down at an open table.
Upon closer inspection, Freya would realize who she was talking to. Small time politician in the area, been seen their names pop up on the news during her breaks. Her looks and description match how she looks on TV, it was a wonder that Freya didnt know who she was until now. But that could be because of lack of sleep and being on a job.
Though now that she has some head space now, various thoughts are going through her head. Mostly concerning her position and grey area where she is operating with the hounds. A pro hero and a SAT unit working closely would cause quite the ruckus if people find out about their relationship. She cant stay in this position forever and she may need to find a new place work at if things start going awry with this sort of messy business. The sneaking suspicion that perhaps some higher ups are a bit uneasy about this whole deal is understandable. Some forward palnning could be in order with the issues that could arrise from an arrangement like this.
But for now she is doing her job and nothing seems to be wrong at the moment so might as well wait and drink her coffee. She is here to keep the peace with the squad and get a well needed break from the usual high octane action of her job.

Without being able to test the woman her blood, she could not consider if she needed anticoagulants or better-phrased blood thinners. it would be dangerous to give her that without a proper consultation and so on. She had a short chitchat with the woman trying to ignore the restaurant owner who seemed to bump into issues with Freya and Deguchi. See, she had picked the right people to help her. The people perked up a little when Deguchi spoke up about the need of this job and Freya waving the man away to just have him do something useful. "Hellhound, could you ask for some water. I need clean water." Yes, she had bottles but the more they could save right now, the better. She noticed in the corner of her eye people moving towards the van from the alley they just left and she got up quickly, only to see other dark and sad faces and big eyes from a distance looking at them. She looked at Deguchi shortly, right, it had been the full intention to get people here but Nimue had no idea that it would go so quickly. "You know," She whispered to her politician friend, "Their faces give me the shivers, I wish society and the government could do more for them." Maybe it was high time to research solutions instead of doing only this.
The restaurant owner did not come back himself, obviously, he was afraid of Freya and did not want to get any more trouble or sassy remarks from her, so he send a simple waiter to bring her big order for her and the others. The waiter politely asked Deguchi if she wanted anything and waited to see if everything was in order. Nimue was just working now, focused on helping the old lady, she let her walk and pretend to not have seen the new trio that arrived in the alley, children, hunched down, probably hungry and for a second she wondered if she should have brought food. She brought candy and she put the candy bag a little more obvious in the back of the van. She had to check something and looked up at Deguchi, "Well, this is something I can do." She smiled as she got the compliment and nodded, "In that case, would you help me put pressure on this." She pointed at the bandage she had around the old lady her leg but she would have to get a blood sample. She was going to make a whole project of this, she was sure of it. She would make it a political point, hopefully, with Deguchi's support she would be able to make Tokyo slightly better and Musutafu with that. The three children came closer as she was working, taking pieces of the candy and she did not bat her eyes because of that, it was the whole reason why she bought it, she was glad they dared while she was practically sitting next to it. With the blood sample she told Deguchi she could let go and thanked the woman for letting her use it. She had the file and labelled it, asking the woman's name and date of birth, she only got the surname but that was well enough and drew the symbol of a woman on it, in case she bumped into the elder man later. You never knew. She continued before she tackled all three kids and put them at the back of the van to wash their dirty faces with the napkins and water that she had. She all checked their temperature and ears, eyes and mouth to see if there were any signs of an infection. She took a short break after that and stood next to Deguchi again. "I hate how they all look so thin and then this guy next to us complains about his so-called property. I bet he throws a lot of food away at the end of the day, which is why they keep a close eye on his trashcans." It was ridiculous.

Deguchi waved off the waitress, although, truth be told, she would like a coffee. A part of her was a little sensitive; she didn't want the underprivileged people her to see a government worker flashing their cash.
"Oh, I'm sure, Hellhound-San! Yes, let's both fo our best!" Hotarubi Deguchi agreed, bowing a few more times in sequence. The lady hero was so much more polite and courteous than her name had led Deguchi to believe. A fine paragon of justice indeed! "You know, when I'm not so busy with this civilian outreach of Nimue's, we should grab lunch some time and talk heroics! I love to put a spotlight on the good deeds that you do and tell the public what heroes, such as yourself, mean to me! We could take a little footage and... aaah, well, just think about it!" she dismissed herself, grinning wide and rubbing her hands together, as if she was very hungry for that sort of interview in the near future.
For now, she needed to get back to Nimue; she had shown up for Nimue's sake, not to secure interviews, after all. Of course, with all the work Nimue was doing, Deguchi knew she shouldn't feel put upon by whatever was asked of her. As such, she handled being put in the hot-seat as gracefully as one could manage with their tongue flapping out. "Welfare is indeed a great concern of mine, especially when people such as these- many of them displaced from their homes, unable to secure decent work opportunities- don't get the assistance they need to build back up. And, you know. A lot of these people are probably suffering due to their own quirks. They face greater taxation, an inhospitable work environment, and improper or lacking education from their very births. I just think it's great that you, as a government servant yourself, give back to them!" She always seemed to find a way to make it about quirks or heroes.
That said, she, as a government servant, was given a job to do that she hadn't expected. "Oh! Right," she remarked dumbly, taking a spot next to Nimue to assist in applying pressure. She had done this a time or two, but it was back during her gang days, and back then, the person who was bleeding from a fresh wound probably deserved to be.
With that work done, Deguchi tried to ignore the people searching for other, non-candy treats inside the back of her van, while she pondered Nimue's words. "Yeah... our society is definitely one where the middle and upper classes looks down on the lower class, not realizing how much extra they have to offer. That goes not just for funds and food, but also, time, talent, and other resources. I'm happy to see you out here making good use of yourssssssss!" she hissed with a grin, ignoring her tongue as it flapped out.

“I’ll order extra for everyone, just give me a moment”, Freya would ask the simple wait as she got her order for some water bottles which the waiter compiled rather quickly. Was it her face or was it the fact that the owner told them to? Either way, she would get her last words to Degunchi before she went off as she was rather the most courteous politician she had met before. “We should, We’ll keep in contact on that end. Just talk to Nimue if you need to find me!”, she would belt out as she would walk off.
Freya would get her orders and call her people on the radio to pick their stuff up. She would see the crowd of people and the sheer size of it all as she wanted to help in her own way. But she aint made of money and she can’t help every single one of them, but protecting them so people like Nimue and Denguchi can also work for her. Her position is rather dangerous to say the least as she heard down the grapevine due to the practice of working so close to the police is a massive issue over here.
Then again, she did the same back home and it was the same issue over there as well. Though one could debate which part of the world is worse for doing that. But any other way she is going to set that topic aside as her team would pick up their orders. They were grateful but good god did they look worse for wear. After a few more exchanges, they would go back to their positions while Freya would go look for a better area to overlook. The crowd was looking mighty big and her presence will mayhaps bring some security to the people at least.
However she would share some of her order with some of the crowd as she would be on standby. She isn't completely heartless but good christ this is a lot of people to be serving, even by her standards.

Nimue took a break, she had used her quirk to the minimum but sometimes with the infections she could not risk not doing it. Some people really needed to go to the hospital but without any money or maybe even status, it was impossible to do so and to ask for such help which was why she was here. She looked already tired and they only did so much. There was a lot more to do and she started to feel a little desperate. The fact was that she had no time to sit down, she waved the waitress to bring a bunch of chicken nuggets and shot a smile to Freya as they had a bunch of chicken nuggets before, or well Freya did. She turned back to Deguchi and her words were nice but it remained words, "Here is hoping there will be a change. Soon." If she would win, Nimue wondered, she hoped it was more of permanent influence though, would that mean something good for the public? Maybe later she could focus on more on politics and offer to help Deguchi. Would that work? She took a deep breath and focused again on her work. She needed to help, she made sure the kids under a watchful eye of hopefully Deguchi, would wash their faces and eat some of the nuggets, but not all, they needed to share, Nimue couldn't buy everything if only Giovanni was here. No, no she could not ask that from him. Right, to continue. Another elderly lady, and another woman, she thought even that the woman was pregnant, considering the symptoms and she gritted her teeth. What... She would have to keep her here and bring her to an orphanage or something else where she could stay in this time, that would be far better.
That's when a man was thrown into the air and slammed full in the van and Nimue just stood there for a few seconds. Some people ran away, across the street, diving into other alleys, others hid behind her, Deguchi and the fan. "I heard someone's on my turf. Someone's trying to get my power? Who do you think you are?" The man looked like a tough guy from around 40, the scars on his body, (why did you walk around without a shirt at this time a year), were obvious that he wasn't an easy one to deal with. She had heard about gang wars and anything but she assumed it would not be about them because well they were obviously not trying to claim any of the streets. The owner of the restaurant came outside and whimpered and quickly went back inside. Right, so he knew this guy too? She held a kid that wanted to get out of the van and with a stern look told him to stay in there as she hurried to the man who was slammed into the van. "Are you okay?" She asked worried.
"DO NOT IGNORE ME!" But she did and with one look up she wanted to change her eyes, to fight but she had to worry and protect these people, and help this man, who was definitely not in a good shape after that hit and the van had quite a dent in it. Shitttt! She needed to fix that for Deguchi too. It was time for action.

The exchange with Hellhound seemed to have gone rather well; Hotarubi Deguchi was pleased to think that her networking among heroes was finally paying off. A politician with a pro-hero platform ought to be on the good side of a lot of heroes, after all. But further, she took it as a sign that her platform was reaching its intended constituents... even if it was really more like she was offering and receiving basic courtesy from fellow quirkers.
As she returned to Nimue, she found the healer busier than ever. In fact, Nimue was far too busy doing what she came here to do to discuss or seemingly absorb any more of Deguchi's politicking, which made sense... it would be pretty amazing to find someone who could dish out armchair politics without it interfering with their job of taking care of the sick and injured. This was a good reminder for Deguchi that she needed to know when to turn it off, a talent which was difficult for her, both by necessity of her professional need to get her message out and as someone who simply loved to gab.
The cases that were coming to Nimue seemed to be increasing in difficulty too, almost like she was progressing through the levels of some kind of video game. Deguchi took a deep breath, her pupils dilating slightly as she wondered to herself whether she was about to get her suit dirty helping Nimue deliver a baby.
As it turned out, her suit was the least of her concerns. Suddenly, her van was set rocking; she could always get her suit laundered or use a spare, but the van was the only means of transportation she had, and furthermore, fully of basically all her worldly possessions, since she lived more out of it than her own apartment. One might forgive her then if her old street-thug persona was beginning to show on her face a bit as her snarl curled away from her metal jaw, seeing the man who'd jumped through the crowd to attack her property while she was here doing charity work.
As she looked at the guy more closely... she didn't recognize him, but it was purely coincidence that she didn't. Him being another quirker around 40 years old, scarred up gang member, he easily could have been one of her old rivals or adversaries from when she was the leader of the Striped Snakes. The old her would have called her gang together and surrounded the guy, then given the order to mess him up... but she couldn't afford to have that sort of violent impulse any more. Furthermore, she didn't have that sort of violent gang following her around any more.
Still... Nimue was busy with a kid. Hellhound was presumably here to protect the venue, but could she make it in time? The guy had done such a number to her van, it was hard to imagine he wasn't going to do the same to the people around here if they got in his way. In fact, looking at his scarred-up body, it was pretty likely he got into fights here all the time. "Citizen, I will graciously avoid pursuing any legal recourse for the damage of my property if you will retreat from this venue and leave us be," Deguchi began, while loosening up her tie. She already had her jacket off, so she simply rolled her shirt up away from her lithe, lanky arms.
She had pretty little faith diplomacy was going to work, but she had to try it, anyway.
Provided the man didn't give up his violent ways, she would stick her tongue out and making a challenging face, raising both hands and curling her fingers as though waiting for a fight. As she did so, she backed away slightly and towards the cafe where Hellhound and crew were stationed... but hopefully angled so that if he charged, he'd do so towards them and the outside seating area, rather than barreling into the store owner's window. The last thing she needed was for that blowhard to have any legitimate commercial grievance to pin on her. "Any chance we can speak about this ssssssss-civilly, quirker to quirker?" she questioned one more time, while her tongue cooled against her jaw.

Trouble was quick to arrive as she heard a commotion as she was finally starting to catch a break. The others were busy keeping the civilians safe and it was down to her to check it out as she wasn't doing anything at the moment.’Of fucking course...time to do what I was called for’, she think to herself as she stretched her arms into the air. She gave her order to an older soul who clearly needed and readied up. Her strong presence made the crowd give her way as she walked towards the scene. Cracking her knuckles, she wanted to get this situation sorted quickly, she wanted to relax but again she is reminded that nothing in this city is never easy.
She wasn’t exactly mad or anything but her glare did serve its purpose as she got closer to the scene. It was then she arrived she saw Deguchi and a man in his 40s clearly pushing the limits of what was socially acceptable. She wanted to applaud the politician on her efforts and patience but the time wasn't right and the dude was clearly not in a talking mood.Scars on his body did not exactly scare her as everyone and their grandmother could get scars. Nimue was on the scene and was taking care of the injured as the man stood there yelling. The crowd staring at him like some sort of wild animal and the politician was doing her best to calm the situation. “Nimue, Deguchi get back, I’ll take care of this”, she said in a more gentle tone as she politely set Deguchi aside before getting up to the dude's face.”Ok, sir. I'm going to ask you to leave before you cause anymore trouble…”, glaring at him as her fists ignite. The situation is obvious and the witnesses are everywhere she has free reign on what to do next and she was damn well ready.
She isn't with the police force and she is counted as a pro hero so she has free reign on what to do. Dealing with the backlash is what she is best with and she is doing this for everyone's sake. “Or what is what you want to hear me say but since you got physical already with a civilian so I'm skipping the formalities and-”, she cut herself off as she winded up and knocked the dude out. Flying into the outside area of the cafe she was just as positioned and he was subsequently laid out and out cold. Admiring her handiwork is needed as radio's the squad about the situation. She was in no mood for talking and she can discuss who he was at the station, but right now she can file this under 'protection of the public' for now.
Turning to Deguchi and Nimue, she simply said, “ So is everyone ok?”. Hopefully they're alright with her punching a dude out in front of the crowd. It wasn't doing much for her public image but it solved the issue in the end.
