A small bell rang out when Chiyu entered the small bakery at the corner of the street. The store was full, as usual at this time in Tokyo, and so no one paid any attention to the young man as he ordered a single bun and a black coffee and sat down on one of the slim tables next to the window. Nobody also noticed how his eyes kept wandering back outside, seemingly staring at the other side of the street.
When Chiyu had arrived in Japan a few weeks ago he had left behind all contacts and past "colleagues" that had connected him to the shadier businesses of life. Over the past days he had thus began tracking down the various brokers, dealers and thugs that would hopefully lead him to the people that would supply him with contracts and work. Silently he sipped from his coffee as he allowed his eyes to scan the other customers in the store, picking apart their belongings and the bought baked goods before returning to the man he had followed for at least a whole hour now. He has been talking to those thugs for quite a while now. And he doesnt exactly seem to feel very comfortable around them. Chiyu rested his eyes on the hands of his target. The man wasnt exactly calm. His fingers kept pulling on the tips of the light dark scarf he was wearing and his right leg seemed to be intend on walking away on its own, judging by the shaking. As his eyes followed the body he noticed the outlines of something roughly oblong in the mans pocket. Quite possible on these smart phones. Or maybe a notepad? Certainly no kind of weapon, as far as i can tell for now... Actually he doesnt seem to be armed at all. As opposed to them...
And indeed, as he continued his observation on the discussion partners he noticed that the two men were more or less obviously armed. One of them seemed to keep a concealed pistol on him whereas the other one kept his hands on the handle of a knife that was sticking out from a somewhat hidden holster in his jacket. Just as Chiyu had finished his coffee and taken a first bite out of the bun all three of the men, and the one woman as he noted absentmindedly, rose. Bummer... Leaving the soft bread bitten and abandoned he too stood up from his chair and left the store, gesturing a polite goodbye to the shopkeepers.
Once outside he pulled the hat deep into his face and turned up his collar, shaking as if cold in the light breeze. The light of the sun was slowly reaching a point where things would soon be cast in reddish twilight and with a last glance at the street Chiyu followed the group into one of the alleys. Trailing them turned out easer than expected, none of them seemed to be to wary of followers. Soon all three of them turned another corner. Carefully peeking Chiyu found them standing before a fifth person, a slim stranger that was hardly visible in the darkness before them.
Finally some results... i cant believe how annoying it has been to follow this moron.
Chiyus tongue came out to wet his lips as he kept one hand on his own hidden holster where he kept his knife. The metal ring that was attached to the handle of the blade felt pleasantly familiar through the cloth of his dark jacket. Leaning back behind the corner he entered a small doorway and waited. It didnt take long for the discussion to finish. Turning around he pretended to fumble for keys before the door and only turned back around after the steps had faded away. With a few swift steps he too entered the dark alley and stretched both arms to the side to show he was unarmed.
It was hard to see anything in the darkness before him now that the sun had sunken a bit more and he narrowed his eyes. A tension washed over his body as he found himself walking towards the shadows and the knife on his side suddenly felt like hot iron, burning into his flesh. Calm... deep... breathing... "I am unarmed, pardon me for intruding like that." He decided that starting with the most important fact followed by a polite excuse was his most likely chance on a first contact. "It has reached my ears that i could find... daffodils growing here? I am looking for some for work..." Here we go... He felt himself preparing for a potential ambush.

While that was going on unbeknownst to anyone, a quirked animal was lurking nearby. It temporary escaped its UA capture to get fresh air and hunt for food. The animal hated the green woman that kept it prisoner, but was instructed not to hurt her. So, the critter decided to escape a bit to hunt and vent on something. Maybe a mouse will run by and the mutated centipede can eat it.
Well, it was hiding in an alleyway that was very familiar to it, so why not. This did use to be the animals nesting ground. But alas, ever since human contact and it aquiring an owner or two or three, it was anywhere but here. Granted those human habitat places were warmer, softer and comfier then a box in an alley and the dumpster. But wait, before the animal could do anything, it heard more human noises. Wait, did the green woman send a hunting party after it? Well, the animal didnt wanna find out, so it hid and observed the humans.
There were quite a few people, but dont expect a number as this animal could not count. It couldnt even tell if they were good or bad. What were they doing anyway? Ah, how the animal wished it was smarter. Soon a voice was heard. Male. "I am unarmed, pardon me for intruding like that. It has reached my ears that i could find... daffodils growing here? I am looking for some for work..."
Wait, did a human come to find flowers? The animal slowly poked its head a bit out of its hiding place, to see what scene was unfolding before it

The smell of the dumpsters was worth it to move but also to bring the right people to her. Drooling over her golden heels that were definitely not made for the alley in which she was standing now. "It is about time you came here." She sneered this was time-wasting and she tried to pray that it was definitely worthy for her time. "We are sorry, Princess, we just had to make sure." But she noticed a sound and she hissed at them, she looked at the dumpsters but saw nothing and let them talk with the information that she needed and waved her hand. She turned her back to them and thought about it, not enough. All the information was not enough, she knew pieces, she knew not enough about anyone. Tokyo was so ridiculously difficult, those names on the list of most wanted were easy to find but all she got was the basic blabla that she could have read in the news. "Idiots, how will I ever set up the start of-of this!" She kicked an empty can that almost hit the dumpster before she waved them away again, "Leave and make sure no one sees you. I will be in contact if I know where you should go and send me a message if you have something useful." She watched them leave when someone showed up and she heaved her head a little and crossed her arms in front of her bother.
Of bloody course, they were followed, "Yes and my grandmother is Hispanic." But she muttered that under her breath and watched the person. Definitely no one would come here unarmed and her own knife was in a garter under her skirt. But she would just see what he wanted and a small smile appeared on her lips as the code seemed to work fine. "Ah, a flower expert, you are very welcome." She looked at the boys that she had hired for information, "Leave. Now." And she stared at the newcomer. She would be quite interesting to see how he would start but she did not say anything at first, she eyed him simply and would wait. She was actually like a happy kid who just got a Christmas present, she finally was reaching somewhere. She had been interested in seeing how far her strings would go, weaving her little web but a web was not made in a day, it would be destroyed by the wind, big raindrops, anything that could be destructive for her to work and restarting here made it so that she had no idea where to start. This wasn't Barbados and she literally did not know who to trust, where to start and be interesting.
Every time she was walking into a trap and having to risk her own life and no one would be the wiser if she would disappear, murdered or anything but apparently the word of the Daffodil was going around and she wanted to see what that would bring her.

After hearing the correct phrase being called back to him Chiyu slowly lowered his arms again. They had established a sense for this meeting, he could only assume that the other party was as interested as him. He didnt show it but his eyes followed the thugs as they left the scene, suspiciously eyeing him just the same. When the men had disappeared he took his time to gauge the female, for this much was obvious from her voice and silhouette, and check her body language for visible signs of her personality. To his dismay she didnt exactly give away much, and what she did show was conveniently hidden by the shadows. The thought flashed like lightning in his mind and his whole body trembled lightly as he prepared to leap forward. It took him a few moments to calm down again. "Breathe..." he muttered under his breath. Whoever this Daffodil was, word on the street was she had only appeared a while ago, though it was unclear whether she actually came to Tokyo at that time or had just acted under a different pseudonym before. Chiyu was well aware of the ease with which some people shed their names.
She didnt seem the kind type, of one where to judge her character based on the few words he had heard her exchange with her henchmen.
"Thank you. I assume i have come to the right person then."
He nodded backwards, towards where the two thugs had gone.
"Do we perhaps have a place nearby where we can talk things out in the quiet? Time is valuable, dont you agree? And i believe i have already proven that this spot here." His left hand gestured loosely at the alley, indicating its easy accessibility and somewhat smelly interior.
Chiyu wasnt exactly known for having a particular need for luxury or a taste for the lavish but in here, in this dark and narrow alley he felt like a trapped animal; ...again.
Aside from that though it would definitely be helpful in determining whether this 'Daffodil' was of any worth to him. He felt himself staring at her and considered a different look. Then again, cant harm to show a little bit... bite. Keeping his stare he started moving forward slowly as to not startle her.
If she didnt stop him on her own or somehow moved away fom him he would end up in an arms length of her in a few more steps.

Poking its head out, the animal saw a male human nearby with a ... fishbowl on its head? What was that? The animal tilted its head to the side for a moment. Then it looked in opposite direction, far away there was another human, which the animal could not see well, but judging by the voice it was female.
The critter hid back in its spot thinking if it should just ignore this, but then again there was a certain tension it could feel. But then again, did it matter if the two attacked eachother? As long as no one wanted to harm or endanger it, the animal was fine. Still... what was up with these humans? They were strange and why were they talking about flowers?
Well apparently the way the conversation was going, it sounded like they wanted to leave the alleyway. Hmm, if thats so.... should it follow them? Because what the heck are they talking about? Cant they go to a park? Unless they were some bad guys? If they were bad, should the animal stop them? Hmmm tough decisions. Difficult decisions for an animal who still hasnt figured out true right and wrong. Well, bad people or not, the animal was curious just what were they doing and how this meeting would end. Even if the animal doesnt learn anything from this. At least it would be entertainment for it

So the word in town did go around, her dark brown eyes stared at the person who had entered the alley. And her goons were stupid enough to let someone follow without them noticing much. They were lucky it was someone who tried to find her if it was a police officer. They would not be so. "You did." There was still amusement in her voice. This individual did not need to see her wrath and rage when it came to their stupidity, no, this might be a potential alley and in this chest game, she needed a lot. She might not really have a king on her chest board, she as the Queen could win the chest game by herself. But everyone needed a tower, a bishop and a knight. The pawns the lowlifes she did not care about. But what role would this person play? She watched the pawns leave and turned her attention back to the man that had entered the alley to find her.
"You did." the ice-cold sound of her voice was not directed to him. The alley now was one of the meeting points for the information and she wanted to slap and shake the idiots. "There is a bar a little further down this alley, its loud and full of obnoxious people." because even if she hoped as it was their job, that the goons would keep an eye out in the alley, she was sure that they could let one other person slip, even without saying the right words. And that wasn't the idea. If the person that found her agreed, she would ask him to walk with her. No need to protect her back yet. She watched him get closer to her and she gave him a small smile, politeness was the key here. He had proven some, he had proven he understood the value of time. She knew the bar and after working hard for it managed to get even private spots within it. That could be of value right now.
"I assume you will tell me in this more secluded place why you came to find me?" She took a few steps, to be inviting, towards the back of the alley, it would split to the left, she had some guy standing there as well, one on the roof but as they would continue to walk through the back alleys to the bar, no one would follow them. It wasn't that far, maybe a five-minute walk and when she entered, the barman shook his head but simply held up a key that she took. There were no words needed for this part of the conversation. "I have a private room upstairs, no one has to listen in."

Chiyu watched her closely as the woman known as Daffodil allowed him to close in on her. Judging by her outer appearance she didnt seem to be dangerous, but the hitman knew very well how easy it was to hide a powerful quirk. If she didnt feel bothered by him getting near her it was either due to her having some sort of ace up her sleeve or another way of guarding against surprise attacks. Either way... she feels rather safe.... The thought of following her into the mentioned establishment didnt sit well with Chiyu. "Loud and obnoxious people" was literally the last thing he wanted to have around him, however the prospect of staying in this dark alley seemed even worse. Sticking close enough to Daffodil to reach her with his hand should the need arise yet far enough for him to have sight on her movements he started following her. Turning the very first corner he understood what it was that gave her this sense of security. "Cant exactly say that his loud bar youve mentioned before really matches my understanding of a "secluded" place but heck. Yeah, i will tell you there, albeit i suppose we can both roughly guess what the topic is going to be..." They slowly passed by a young fellow who appeared to rest by the corner. What a coincidence eh... Chiyu got a feeling that this man too was armed and he doubted that hiding it was any priority anyway. He must be pretty confident in himself if he thinks his weapon is gonna help him at this distance. That; or he is not alone... He pretended to set his cap right as he looked around secretly. Nobody else was visible but there were some windows in the higher floors that seemed dark and empty. The perfect place for someone to hide and wait. Looking even higher there was also the roof, although the darkened Sky hid any possible silhouettes. Chiyu could only hope that his own dark clothing would hide him equally well to anyone watching them from above. They continued through the alley for a few more moments before Chiyu noticed an additional pair of eyes watching them. Or to be more specific, a single green eye. First he had only heard it, the tapping of small feet on the pavement, always coming from corners and dark spots in between empty trash bins and other garbage. He only noticed the source of the sounds when they had arrived at Daffodils weird bar. As she made a first step inside the building Chiyu turned around and finally spotted the weird small animal. What in the... is that? Immediately he sidestepped to prevent his back from facing the dark inside of the bar and slowly reached for the knife underneath his black jacket. "Do you belong to her?" He hissed, his voice momentarily dropping the down-to-earth tone it had before when talking to Daffodil. "I dont quite like anyone sneaking up on me, i recommend... Chiyu stopped, unsure whether the strange being would even understand him. Nevertheless he felt his senses spiking as his eyes fixated on the critter and his ears listened for steps from above or inside.

The creature curiously watched and listened and ultimatiely tried to follow, but eventually it got discovered as the bowl man turned around with a weapon, asking it if it belongs to the female human. "K̴̮̰͝e̶͚͆̃ " the animal replied in its garbled animal sound. It most likely wasnt even a spoken human word, but just the noise the animal made as it opened its mouth jaw and then leaned aside to get a better look at the female human he was referencing.
Then the animal stopped leaning and then looked up at the bowl head human. Huh, how to convey to him that it doesnt belong to that woman, and how to convey to him that it causes no harm. Using big brain things for a change was really weird, normally the animal would just spit its acidic saliva to melt that knife in its hand, but ehhh, it decided to try and be smarter. One thing the animal learned from other pets like cats and dogs was that it should pretend to be cute in order to be accepted by humans. Apparently humans liked that sort of thing. So it sat down and looked at the man with its eye and trying to pretend to be as cute as possible.

She looked over her shoulder to the man who had come to find her. She gave him a small smile, of course not. Loud and obnoxious places were not where you would discuss things but that was the thing, she did not want eavesdroppers. "In my history of this profession I have always found that silent places are great for eavesdropping. Bars are not. People are too busy with their own lives that even if they catch a strange word, let's say murder, they assume they heard it wrong." Besides, it wasn't the intention to sit with the barbarians but she wasn't going to say that right now. He asked her, she provided, else he should not have put it that way. She kept on walking, giving a small nod to her guard but she had also heard it, the tip tap of small foot prints. First she had waved it away in her head as something of a rat or so, it would be surprising how big those creatures could grow.
She spoke to the barman with just a short command and was about to go up the stairs to the room where they could talk in private when she noticed the person who had followed her wasn't even behind her anymore. "Anything the matter?" She asked looking past him and staring at the creature. "What is that thing?" She looked at Chiyu, without knowing his name that is, "Does it belong with you? I am not sure if the bar allows creatures inside, not even peculiar ones." She looked at it again and shrugged before turning around, she really couldn't care if it was brought inside but she might care about it in her room, considering it might be a spy of something else, she wouldn't be all too happy unless it belonged with him. Than she would still not like it, after all, these were chances and she did not wish for them to be ruined. Narcissa waited when she stood halfway the stairs. Time was of essence, he had said something in a familiar sense and her business had not gone well for tonight, her mood was definitely not improving with the minute.
She had a few things to consider, such as asking his name. Making sure that she would learn how he had gotten word about her, because that was important for her as informant. Knowing where her name did spread. How the code was exchanged and so on. If it was doing write when it came to get the people talking, maybe working with Bubbles had been fruitful, even though she still had to get her the information. But that would come, certainly because the right words did have to be spread.

Keeping his eyes on the creature Chiyu shrugged slightly. No. It does not belong to me either... If it doesnt follow you and not me, maybe we should... He stopped himself before his facade could break. Dispose.... of it Maybe we should just head inside. It doesnt seem to be doing much, thought i havent exactly seen a magnitude of quirked animals... He said, closing his jacket again and warily keeping his eyes on the little being. His stance was still that of a man who expected to be attacked, yet he now begun moving backwards towards the door slowly. In any case, i am curious about this establishment of yours, heh! He barked a short laugh and stepped to the same level as the doorman, his attention now equally divided between the strange creature, Daffodil and the doorman. Nodding a slight greet he let his gaze wander over the man, checking him for any weapons or similar objects that could pose a danger. After finding nothing out of the norm he followed the informant into the building, making sure the doorman was somewhat between him and where he assumed the small animal to still be. Stay centered. Stay calm. Stay collected

The man by the name of Chiyu sent some very bad juju vibes. That just made the animal that a few steps backwards and away from him. Clearly, the animal couldnt do nothing as the two humans entered the building. The animal though hissed at the doorman and ran away to circle the building to see if there was a window.
The animal would realize that windows would be for naught since its short and cant reach nor see. Like, the only way the animal would be able to peer through a window was if it jumped or... wait no duh... Wallcrawling was a thing. Gosh being an animal is so silly, you even forget your own skills. Either way, being outside was unsadisfactory. It needed to be there.
The critter decided it would need to sneak in somehow. But how? Well, the animal went to circle the building once more before deciding that hey, it has acid saliva. It'll do what it did to UA! Finding a wall that was far away from the doorman, the animal would spit and cause it to melt and create a small hole it could burrow in. Slowly but surely sneaking in somewhere. Of course, it wasnt near its curious two targets.

"Neither but who knows what it can and cannot do or understand." t better was to stay away from them and she just headed inside without much further ado. Narcissa assumed that the bartender and the guard at the door would stop the thing while she headed upstairs. She looked over her shoulder and opened the door to the little room upstairs, it was simple, mostly would be used for poker probably, "It's not mine, but I know the owner." She gave a short smile, "No one would disturb us." She simply stated and would take one of the seven chairs around the round table, close to the window. But she did not look at it, she knew this place and she knew the owner wanted to do good for the business, besides she would have to add that she wasn't afraid of any eavesdroppers, they were too dumb for that considering the other people in the establishment.
She turned her attention to the man,"So you came to find me, and you knew the code. Do you need work or do you need information?" It was an interesting perspective, not many came to find her and not many tried to put in the effort of doing what needed to be done. She quickly looked over her shoulder but saw nothing. She turned her attention back to Chiyu and simply waited, leaning on her hand but keeping the expression on her face neutral, there was a lot to consider that someone wanted and she did not plan to give any information about it herself, there was no need for that after all. She did not believe in traps, she would have heard the government about it and there was not such a thing. No, she wasn't aiming to be on the big bad list, but that did not mean that it would never happen. Technically she did hope that it would mean she would never be on there. It meant her job was safe, her plans maybe in reach.

Chiyu took a moment to take in the interior of the room. Seven normal chairs, each in that indistinct color that spoke of years of backsides, the usual spilled liquor and the occasional bit of ash. The latter two of these could also be faintly smelled in the air, although Chiyu could not clearly tell whether the smell was in the air or wafting over from a different room. In the middle of the room stood a big round table, like those that are sometimes shown in TV series as a gathering spot for mobsters and poker friends alike. He displayed a big grin on his face to show his appreciation of the location, even though in his mind he quite disliked the dimness and closeness of the room and he couldnt stop but feel a certain nervousness rise up in his body. Daffodil took one of the chairs, the one closest to the window and positioned herself behind it, her hand resting on the backrest. She clearly knows this place. She doesnt mind turning her back to the window... maybe shes showing off how secure she feels? He toned down his smile a bit and took a few steps around the table until he had reached one of the corners of the room where he too slumped down on the backrest of one of the chairs. His eyes were looking at Daffodil but from the corner of his eyes he could see both outside the window and towards the door. Well, to be honest i wasnt sure whether i would actually find someone or just following a blind trail yknow? He laughed quietly. These days you never seem to know where you end up at. But yeah, no, i was looking for work. Im new to this town and... truth... Chiyu put a slight emphasis on the word as he raised one hand to scratch his neck. ...be told, i kinda tire of taking on security jobs and the likes. The young man slowly rose and straightened his jacket absentmindedly. Aside from proper employment however i am of course also looking for information. In particular of course i would like to hear your... recommendations on who to associate with in this town. Having checked his knife once more Chiyu relaxed somewhat, and with a simple movement he turned the chair around sat down on it, the backside of it now before him and acting as a higher armrest. Im Chiyu, by the way.

The animal eventually snuck in the establishment, but did not know where the people were. It searched for them and tried to stay hidden. There were many people. So many human feet and none of the ones that belonged to the two. Were they on this floor to begin with? Ah! What if they were upstairs? How was it supposed to climb stairs and not be seen. Thinking and watching the people and where they looked, it decided to run up a pair of stairs when no one wasnt looking.
Climbing up, it immediately hid under a table before anyone saw it. It had to be very very quiet. Even its breathing had to be careful. Looking around its surroundings, it needed to find if it could see the two people. And eventually it saw a pair of female legs. Like the ones from that female lady who was with bad juju man. Surely that was the two of them. The animal looked and it seems everyone was talking to eachother. It scurried to another table that was closer. It was hard to see or hear anything in this mess, but it felt it was on the right track. The male voice was familiar. It must be the two of them. But what were they saying?

Narcissa leaned on the chair and looked at him. Interesting, she simply wondered what he wanted and she simply would wait for him to say so. She heaved her head a little, people assumed that she would need employment in the simple way would probably be disappointed. But she could always get the people to guard her or let's say bring her more information and so she smiled, she had no intention to say her real name, Daffodil was fine for now.
She thought she heard something at the door and walked there, getting a pitcher of water and if they needed anything else but she said no to the bar tender and missed that the critter had been able to hide close to them, or did she. She was interested in the littel thing and she would trust for now that she was not being spied on, as well as the fact that she doubt someone put a bug on that disgusting thing. She took the pitcher and put it on the table and closed the door again, "You have to understand that my line of work doesn't provide you much money until you give me information that I can really use well. You could be my eyes and ears in locations where I am not. But it is not a job that pays for all the hours until it proves something." It was a simple statement, one she hoped he understood, "It will always be a danger to play this game, are you up for that though?" She put the water in one of the glasses and took a sip of it and looked slightly out of the corner of her eye at the critter, if it did have a bug, she would have to kill it, well it missed hearing their names, that was better.
"My recommendation depend on what your goal is and what you want." Because it probably depended on what he was looking for and what would be up his alley, she thought about the information that Sunaho provided to her before.
