A momentary pause followed as Elise frowned noticeably at Nimue's words. "How peculiar, normally only the Public Safety Commission is the one to give orders, their job is to coordinates the forces in the field, and in all honesty, if one was to put a healer like you on the frontline, they made a serious mistake." She smiled briefly, deciding to quickly correct herself. "Not that I doubt your martial prowess, but a healer is meant to be at the back, tending to the injured, lending support to those fighting by tending to their injuries when possible. After all, if you put a healer on the frontline and they get hurt, then you're basically causing a key factor in the survivability of the mission to nosedive."
Still, when Nimue talked about being able to arrest the murderer of her father, and that it didn't feel like enough, Elise nodded her head solemnly. "It is difficult, even if we arrest a villain, they still exist, there is still a possibility they will break free and cause more harm. I always considered the law a flawed system, at the very least until they reintroduce the death penalty for the likes of Thunder Shock and those similar to him. Not every villain can be redeemed or simply locked away, and we seen time after time just how incompetent the current facilities are."
The sudden question made Elise look up, her smile returning as she answered with a softer tone. "I plan to tell him, I just don't know how yet." Still, there was wisdom in Nimue's words, that the chances they were given are things they could learn from. It made sense, after all she had learned a lot since her enrollment into the hero academy. Not just about the world itself, nor just about society but also about herself. She raised a hand to her chin and pondered quietly. "I'm not certain, he can be a bit emotional at times, hence I need to consider the way of how I will tell him quite carefully."
Still, the last part made her chuckle briefly. "Indeed, it's not always fun and games. Sometimes we are forced to carry certain responsibilities even if we don't want to. However, in a way one could even say that the life of a hero, is fundamentally one that shoulders a lot of responsibilities. However, I feel that there are quite a few students and even some pro heroes who have a wrong notion of what a hero is meant to be. In a way, they forsake their responsibilities and act as nothing but glorified peacekeepers. It is frustrating at times, but there is not much that can be done about it." She shook her head lightly and smiled weakly. "Sometimes I even think that there are some vigilantes who might be more heroic than those people. Even if what they do, is, by all means, illegal, they still follow a certain code, a creed that they won't forsaken no matter what happens. However, at the opposite side of the coin I almost feel like the pro hero program is steadily changing into an industry, rather than a 'calling' it becomes just a 'job' for people."
She lowered her head slightly in defeat as she mumbled the last part. "And that is part of why I worry about letting Tetsu, someone who values heroic virtues so much, become part of such a program..."

She let out an obvious sigh, "I don't know if they did it for their own greater good, or whatever, I am still too confused to ask and so on. They sort of rubbed it in when Oracle killed my father, a sort of I told you so but I showed up a week later again at the station to kick some ass. The thing is that I understand putting a healer at the front line is an idiotic plan but what was the front line here in Shinagawa. And maybe that's where I am the most confusing factor, I did not want to sit still and do nothing. I trained martial art skill, they helped me get a sort of weapon and all that." Okay at that time Uphondu wasn't around so that was slightly difficult but she had only proven that she wasn't weak and that's how he returned as well, what more did she want. Shinagawa first took everything from her to give her something in return and yet she was still whining. She looked at her lap, indeed, the healing hero was at the back, "They first did not want me to go at all." Swoop in when the danger was over but she got what Elise meant, even in the back she could help maybe even by fighting but the question was: what did she herself want and she seriously had to make up her mind.
She nodded solemnly, in general, she always thought she was against the death penalty. Did it not make you the same by killing someone like the person you were throwing into that system, "It only proves with him escaping that there is no other way." She mumbled, almost hating herself for saying it out loud. There should be several degrees in when it was possible and when not and only in the most extravagant option such as the top ten villains. Maybe extend it to a few more below the top ten but she did not want to think about it. She felt the bile get up in her throat and she quickly swallowed it back down. Great. "That does make sense, people sometimes forget how much effect words can have, it is good to consider but the only thing I can add is to say do not take too long. I bet no one else knows what happened but you never know and it would be a bad thing if it does happen the other way." By Elise not managing to tell it to Luka before anyone else. She chewed on the inside of her lip as she did not like what Elise said, not because she was wrong. It was the fact that she wasn't wrong that made her worried. "I am afraid that some don't really care about the consequences or are all out for the fame for it." And in a sense the fame that some pro-heroes got was not bad, if they just kept on doing their job right it could be a nice bonus for some people but that did not mean she wasn't worried. Her mind wandered off to G, yes, maybe... maybe vigilantes got the whole point: it's for the greater good. "An industry?" Huh she had not thought about it in that way and that did not make her thought process even better. If only she could join that Public Safety Commission all her problems would be saved but was that what she wanted?
"Don't see it like that." It was out before Nimue knew it, and it could have been toned down. "Tetsuko as you were, is one of the best examples that we have. She among others can be and hopefully are the inspiration that people need to understand what a true hero in this mentally has to be. We are not those in comic strips, we are not in the manga or anime series, we are out there and we need to do what we signed up to do. Tetsuko is a perfect example of understanding that." She should have maybe phrased it differently but she was sure and she hoped to hold on to it, that Tetsuko was and remained a great example for others.

Elise nodded her head quietly at Nimue's explanation, indeed sometimes it was difficult to figure out whether something was done for the sake of the greater good or not, all things considered, even now she wasn't entirely certain whether she was acting for the sake of the greater good. Certainly, some might consider her decision to depart from the hero academy in order to track down the traitor in their midst heroic once her story became revealed, but even now Elise still couldn't help but wonder: Did she truly desire for her story to become known? If she did, and people would consider her a hero, it would be a label that made her uncomfortable. After all, the Germanic lass had always held the belief she was not a hero, nor did she deserve to be considered one. Even if she was chasing down this traitor, a quest that would help the greater good, in the end it was all for her personal motives. To avenge her master, to protect Tetsuko... No, she was not naive enough to consider herself such a noble soul.
"Hmm..." She paused, trying to answer Nimue's question. "It's difficult to say, since the frontline often shifts during a conflict, similar to the battlefield in a war if one was to compare it to such an thing. However, one could say it is perhaps only in the most direst of moments that a healer should enter the battlefield while the fighting is still going on. What would they have done if you had fallen during the battle? I'd dread to think about it..."
She nodded her head slightly in return to the statement offered by Nimue. "Indeed, until the day a proper system is designed, free from corruption or incompetence, that we can hope to see villains like Thunder Shock safely put away. However, I fear that until then those individuals will always pose a threat to our society, exactly because they know the laws meant to protect 'us' will protect their lives in the end. She giggled softly at Nimue's agreement, yet when she spoke about her opinion of an industry Elise nodded her head firmly. "Indeed, there is too much focus on the public image, too much focus on their popularity, and in the end people compete over who is the 'best' or 'most popular' hero, rather than focusing on combining their efforts to become those beacons of hope and justice that will protect our society. In the end currently, it's more a mockery of the definition of true heroism, and a remnicense of how the pop idol industry works."
Yet Nimue's conviction that Tetsuko was a solid example of being someone who understood what true heroism is about, that Elise's smile turned more genuine. "Indeed, Tetsu is someone who will not bend to corruption or lose track of what is important. Perhaps it is because of her that I desire to support this hero program in my own way, not just for her sake, but to try to improve things so people will start to focus on what a hero should be."
She leaned back in her chair and hummed softly. "After all, Tetsuko is my hero~ And it would be unlike me to not try to support such an adorable hero in any way I can~"
She nodded her head firmly and looked at Nimue. "Either way~ Should you feel the need to come by for another 'consultation', I am more than willing to consider the bill paid for with a bottle of apple juice~"

There was a lot to consider and she wasn't sure if her world, the society of nowadays was ready for such a thing yet. With the quirks not being around that long yet, it was kind of obvious that some people still tried to find a foothold in the world. Trying to make bigger impressions and worlds than they could have done without and that meant that corruption and such was still a big deal out there. She wasn't sure how she would else be able to voice or frame it but that's why she herself tried to hold on to the idea of the greater good. That's what she stood for and that's hopefully something she always would stand for. They continued to talk, it wasn't that Nimue expected Elise to have a quick answer for her when it came to the overall question that she had. The question was after all one that actually she could only answer for herself. What she wanted, what is it that she wanted? Did she want to continue to be a pro-hero and did she want to be considered as the poor fragile healer or what? She wasn't just that but she did not want to fight either, that's not why she had become a hero so it was a very strange phenomenon in general, one where she did not have the answer up till now. She looked at her lap, yea, what would they have done with her if she had fallen and what would her side have done without her. She did not want to think, that's not what happened but it was maybe something to consider now that they had the opportunity so to speak to really consider it.
The industry was what had surprised her and she nodded when Elise said it out loud, she had not wanted to consider it. Some might be in it for the image, for the fame and so on. "Right, yes, we always will have people like that." Could she say she was doing it for that? She was almost a hundred per cent convinced she did not want to do it for the fame. Which was why she hid her red markings on her face nowadays with foundation, why her hair in her hero outfit was covered by a hood and pinned behind so it could not be seen. It was maybe not the best disguise but it worked wonders still. She was very careful and only more now after the death of her father. She knew she was wanted by people who were anything but happy about her so what else would she do to be more of a target. Which was how they got to the topic of Tetsuko and that Nimue was convinced that their number one student was not only the number one because of the power but also the dignity, honour and personality that she displayed, Tetsuko was a wonderful student in her opinion. She hoped she could be an inspiration for the new students and the future heroes and Nimue hoped that she herself could be considered like that as well. Which was maybe another reason why she had to wonder if she wanted to quit or not, what if she was eventually going for that fame?
She gave a short and soft chuckle when Elise called this a consultation and nodded, "I will keep that in mind. I hope we can keep in contact from time to time." Because not only had this conversation been pleasant but she was curious what the future held for the former-student. "Well, I take my leave, thank you for listening to my heart's content." and she waved goodbye.
