It was 18:00 in the night and Feng was walking to the police station. It was cold, unforgiving and the air was filled with tension and doubt. Her chest felt tight and face was red from the cold. The incident at the warehouse and her hospitalization put her under police surveillance due to her connection to the the incidents committed by her distant relative. Adding on the charges of improper use of her quirk. She is under suspicion by the police due to the two officers reports on what they stumbled in on. The ever growing pile of evidence against Feng only makes things worse for her as she is possibly the only lead on a string of incidents that happened before her meeting. Its even more harrowing if hey find out she is somehow related to the would-be assassin.
Due to the Tao and what police officers saw, it was somewhat justified that she was taken in for questioning. But her anxiety did not dissipate due to many realizations that have been bothering her over the week. The memories that came back during the fight, the Taos, the blood feud, and the assumption that her life could very well be a lie. Even thinking about the sheer concept that her family is comprised of i assassins and all this secret family drama is all so surreal.
Its insane to even think about this and believe all to be fact without a shroud of doubt. But with everything that has happened to her and the fact she knew some of her mothers moves, its becoming hard to deny the fact. She needs to hear the truth from her family. In person and from their mouths, even if she has to beat down everything single one of them. If she doesn't ask her family now, she will eat at her until it gets worse.
But she needs to get this out of the way first. The faster she gets this out of the way, the sooner she gets her answers. Who will even interview her in any case? She cant exactly get questioned by the police since this sort of incident seems to be out of their jurisdiction given her position as a overseas student.
She walked in and was checked in, she set aside her coat and was seated with the usual pleasantries with this sort of situation. The silence was tense and only the low hum of the lights filled the air. Her heartbeat could be felt through her skin. The slight ringing in her ears stayed with her, a present from the Tao. Her breathing varied in pace as she sat there in silence as she was fully prepared to answer truthfully.

So....hmm. Here's an odd case of sorts.
During a typical route, two traffic officers heard and saw activity from an old warehouse. Scheduled for being destroyed in a couple of months, the sign that tells people to not trespass was oddly absent, most likely due to the recent weather. That may have explained why there were two people inside the building. What wasn't explained is the holes present. It couldn't have been age that caused that damage, it looks too new. Also the noise heard was for some reason very loud. Like it was amplified through unexplained means of sorts. In any case, it made the duo head towards there to see what happened.
What they saw was two girls screaming as they crashed onto the ground, somehow enveloped in fire. One of the girls has a weird leg and she was the one that got away, throwing a pipe at them. They are currently looking for her so they can obtain their statement and for attempted assault. As of now, however, there has been no word of her. She has effectively escaped, all traces of her have gone silent. Weird. Anyway that girl seems to be hurt. The officers run up to her, seeing if she's alright.
Some basic info was obtained. Her name was Feng Yao, and she was a second year at UA. She was told to join them at the station for her statement, as to why she was here and who that girl was. Was she a friend, family member, anything really. Simple stuff. As she sits there, the door opens with a man placing his coat on the rack as well, sitting in front of her and making himself comfortable. He doesn't seem dangerous, but he does look oddly tired.
"Alright then...sorry for the wait. Now, we got the basics already. We know who you are and we already informed the school we found you, nothing about you being in trouble though...yet. We contacted your parents and there should be one member coming soon, for now though...would you mind answering some things for us?" He grabs a stack of paper and straightens them up. "Today's date...alright. Around the time you were found, you and another figure were present at a location whose plot has been settled as 'scheduled for destruction." He stares at Feng. "Would you mind telling me what you were doing before then?"

Feng would wait in the room in question for a few minutes as she quietly thought about the circumstances and reflected on them. Is she in trouble? Is this going to affect her folks back home and so on. When she heard the door open, the officer who is tasked with questioning her was rather...tired from the looks of things. No bad aura surrounding him but his attitude does seem a bit odd. Then come the stack of papers and a slight sound could be heard as it landed on the table. It was then the questioning began.
The officer was already going in on the details the moment Feng arrives. Although she had been through this sort of situation before, the officers directness did catch her off guard. Looks like her folks back home are going to get mad about this and her aunt is coming to pick her up from the sound of it. This is going to be more trouble than its worth and she doesn't even fully know the connections she shares.
Hearing the question, she would take a moment to recall the events in question and then answer in her normal tone,” I was out for a jog on the trail and as I was taking a breather, the assailant attacked me..”, she states without stuttering. Lying in this sort of situation would a death sentence and what she said is true. But how did that girl know where to find her? Who is she working for? How did she escape the police that quickly? How long was she planning this attack? There's too many questions for Feng and any answer would only create more questions. Luckily for her, the warehouse wasn’t a big concern and the only real issues from what she could see is her quirk use outside of UA and the assailant.
She would sit quietly and calmly as she would wait for the next round of questions that would come from the officer. Because the normal song and dance is going be long and she knows that there is always more than meets the eye when it comes to quirkers in these sorts of situations.

A simple jog around the place, ending up near a location that is restricted to the public, the jogger belonging to a an institute filled with quirk users, and they were simply attacked by someone. One would normally raise an eyebrow towards that. Considering that the officers reported her in a badly hurt state, which he can faintly see right now on her face. In this case, there are some factors to consider. Let's try to deconstruct this step by step. Two steps only, so should be easy.
One: the jog. Around this time it wouldn't be strange for many joggers to pass by this point. So her jogging there wouldn't raise some alarms in one's head. UA has many students take jogs, and around this time it wouldn't have gone against their schedule. It's a bid sad to admit but they have had previous reports involving UA students, so it's nice to be up on the details about that campus and how it ticks schedule wise.
Two: the assailant.
The officers reported that they have seen a similiar sized girl wearing plain clothes with baggy pants to accommodate an odd bump on her leg. One of them reported that it looked similar to how you would picture a grasshopper leg would be. She also had eyestocks extending her eyes form the spot where eyes usually tend to be. An impressionable yet straightforward description, considering the state of Tokyo nowadays. Both of the girls appeared injuired so its safe to say that they had some sort of fight. Whether it was one sided or both agreed to do it is the next question.
"Alright then." As he finished writing down her statement and comparing it to what they already know, he looks at her once again. She didn't show any fear per-say, but she did had some discomfort brewing around her. Can't blame her; no matter if you're innocent or guilty, no one likes being held up in an police office. "Don't worry, we're contacting your parents under the assumption you were attacked. For now, at least. So...can you please describe to me who she was. Did she...mention anything? Any threats? Any major details we would need to know if we need to follow this investigation up?"

The detective gave the usual response one would give to a question like that, though his expression may have reflected a slight bit of disappointment? It could be her imagination but she will set that aside for now, answering these questions and the like are going to be crucial to learning the truth. They are contacting her parents but… due to the circumstances of her stay, it will fall onto her aunt to bail her out of this. Though the reasons given aren't exactly gonna be easy on the heart of her father. She will deal with that issue when the time arises.
However then comes the issue of her relationship with her attacker. This was the detail that is messing with her due to the limited information she has on hand. Feng would take a moment to recollect her thoughts on the event. Internally debating on whether or not to give the full details on the entire situation. However this would be better if she were to get the full answer from her family and not make assumptions.
“From what I recalled, she was an assassin who was tracking me for a while. Details as to how long is vague. She kept calling me a traitor for some reason and kept talking about our supposed connection. Her quirk was akin to a grasshopper and she could control sound. She said something about attacks she did earlier...but then details start to get foggy afterwards…”, she would answer as much as she could from the battle. Some of those hits did rattle her head a bit to the point where some recollections take a bit of effort to recall.

Right then...this isn't making his job easier. He sighs as he mentally notes down what she said before writing it down on the record.
The station here knows about UA. They know they are liable to more...extreme cases, and for the most part, barring the more evident rule breaking and the disastrous Semper Fi event, the students and stuff around them have been...fine. Not all clean, there are occasional kids violating rules and what not, but nothing major. Just normal super powered teenager shenanigans. They have been more stricter as well, so it wasn't as chaotic as last year's group.
What this is, a grasshopper girl who can control sound, is a bit weird. Not gonna lie, this sounds like its should be more suited for the higher ups.
"...Right. An assassin...okay." he looks at her again, trying to decipher the implications of this. "...So then, this assassin is literal. The figure was a literal assassin, someone who from the only three witnesses, you included, claim to be someone around your age was an trained assassin. And they called you a 'traitor." And this 'connection' of yours..." he slightly pats his neck, slightly tired from a lot of paperwork the night before. "...Hmm. So then. You have no idea why she called you 'traitor.' She claims to have a connnectio with you, but its just that. A connection. Are you two related? Is this a family matter?"
A slight pause. She was looking tense. Perhaps an off the record joke might ease her worries.
"Is your family a group of assassins?" He said, with the tone of someone who is clearly joking but still serious enough.
...He has no idea, does he?

The detective was...of course doubtful about her statements. Of course that would be the most reasonable reaction to her description. Hell even saying it outloud was surreal as she recalled the incident. But the truth is stranger than fiction and not a single snicker or chuckle came as she explained it. However the detective pushed on and asked more questions to shed light on the mystery behind this attack.
Issue is that she doesn't have a single answer for any of those questions. With how sudden the encounter was and everything that was thrown at her, she is just as much in the dark as the detective was.Adding onto the memories that popped into her head, the truth started to make less sense. She can’t come off as standoffish but with everything that has happened, she doesn't know who to trust in her family. It was most likely her Aunt as coming but the chances of getting a straight answer from her is akin to trying to climb mount Fuji with no limbs. However she was the only link to her family that was within the country and somewhat reasonable out of her relatives. The issue came with her cousins who were all equally insane in their own way. She did her best to keep her social life and her family separate thanks to a dozen incidents f the family stalking certain individuals who they deemed..interesting. The family itself wasn't much better as many of them suffered the same issues twice as much.
Mother is going to be cryptic, other aunt is bubbly, and her uncle was soft-spoken. One is known to settle things in bouts of near death battles, another enjoys to play chicken in high end cars and another just enjoys fighting against men of his skill and stature. In essence, she has to take her chances in asking her aunt. But she can’t exactly tell an officer about a family matter that is based on nothing but a guess. Its also the issue of risking this information getting into the wrong hands and accidentally stumbling into something huge. If this were to lead into something bigger, then many lives would be in danger as a result. The assumption was due to how the assassin was never caught and how they avoided capture. With that many injuries sustained, there was no way in hell she was able to get out of there as quicly as she did. But the detective needed an answer and it needed to be reasonable to say the least. So she took a deep breath and gave the most reasonable answer that was best suited to follow up her previous answer.
“I...don’t know anymore...everything happened suddenly and so much was thrown at me… I didn't have any time to process everything...” Feng would answer. She didn't lie again as it was the truth, adding on to her fidgeting and shuffling as struggled to remember the fight in fine detail. But there were some holes in the encounter, especially near the end where she blacked out and then she was surrounded in fire. Faint echoes do permeate her mind but nothing concrete came through. It was all a massive puzzle and she doesnt know where to even begin since she was thrown into the center of it all.

He meant that as a joke, how did this cause her have a total mental inner conflict within her? He can't read her thoughts, but her face and nervousness about this whole scenario was pretty evident of what she's feeling right now: uncomfortable. Not just because she is currently being questioned about the event she was in, but because she has no idea. Most people can't act this genuinely if they're guilty of something. There is usually something about their performance that leads way into it being a fake performance. This is genuine confusion. Fear. She has no idea and being in this place is probably going to make it worse for her before it gets better.
"...Right then." He sighs as he gets up to grab two cups of water, slowly filling them up one after the other. Awkward silence within the room: something no one wants to experience within a police station. It makes one wonder what will happen next. What kind of question or accusation will fill up the room. He sets down one cup in front of Feng, as a way to ease her tensions. If there were any snacks nearby, he would have gotten some as well. End of the day, she was still a kid.
"..Think for now you should just describe the fight you had. Maybe we can help find this assailant that way. Mention...things she said or anything that seemed out of place."

As the detective would place the cup of water in front of Feng as she recalled the encounter. It was a sign to relax but with that event still fresh in her mind, she tried to do her best at recalling everything. Every detail, every word, every action, every thought, had to be dredged from her brain.
She would take a sip of water as she pieces together the last of the memory. There were massive holes in her memory due to her blacking out mid fight but hopefully it was not. Fidgeting in her seat, taking deep breaths, taking small sips of water, every action was to prepare herself mentally.
“I was out for a jog,,,she appeared behind me...she started to talk about my performance at the school festival...her last name is Tao...started insulting my family...then I defended myself against her attempts...escaping was not an option...I blacked out...then there was fire...and a voice...then final confrontation happened and then the officers came...that's all I could recall..I apologize if its all seemed vague.”Feng would recall as much as she could. Saying it outloud didn't even sound real. Why did this have to happen? What exactly was she talking about? Nothing makes sense and she just wants to be home sleeping with a warm meal.

A jog, a sudden attack, an obsession with an appearance on the tv, and an odd obsession with their family. Family drama isn't unheard of. Families feuding with other families is a bit weirder to hear of as the reason why one is attacked in the middle of a jog. Was this a fangirl or did her family hate hers? Just...the end of the day, this statement is too vague to be used for now. If they want to make any real progress, she has to actually give him something to work with. Something in her voice just seems like there's something she's not mentioning. Perhaps...the reason why she hates her family?
"...So then...Yao, right?" he begins. "Is there anything out of the ordinay that your family does, that may cause for a reason for your...assailant to use as, something that might cause them to despise you? Did your family do something to theirs? Was it something you did to her family? Did you fight someone related to them on the school festival? I just want some more info so we can continue this profile of sorts. If not, then I'm afraid that you'll be staying longer here. So..." he sighs. "It would be for both of our interests that you get talking. What was this girl's deal with your family?"

“My father was a sailor and my mother is a doctor...nothing out of the ordinary.....they are strict parents but nothing to warrant an assassin being sent after me!” Feng would answer the first set of questions without problem but then the more detailed questions started to get more fixated on the words of the Tao.” My parents always told me that our Grandfather immigrated to America for new opportunities so I don't know what they meant, it was my first time running into them so I have no clue as to why they have such animosity, I never fought someone like them at the Festival…” She would answer more and more with desperate hopes that it gives them a description on what they want. The detective would soon ask the big question which would drive Feng up the wall in terms of what he meant. What is her deal with her family? Why is everything happening? Who are the Taos and why all of this hatred. She would keep silent for a few seconds to gather her thoughts...nervously giving her response slowly as she attempted to recall the words spoken to her.”Something about my Grandfather being a traitor to his brother and how their our bloodline is cursed...but I never heard my grandfather mention anything about a brother...that's all I know...is there anything else you need to know detective? I can offer no concrete answers due to everything being either a haze or being complete nonsense considering what transpired in that warehouse”, Feng would ask again as she would nervously take another sip of water to calm her nerves. But her annoyed tone was starting to seep into her voice near the end.
All that she can hope is that her Aunt has the answers she is looking for because this detective is asking some big questions that have no answer.

The officer seemed to give her rather long glances as he continued to question her. The look simply implying well enough he wasn't quite satisfied with what he was hearing. He seemed to almost question her with his eyes but was careful as he made silent notes each time it was her turn to speak or add any details. "So you really have no idea why and assassin or any form of killer or assailants would come after you?" He'd say the sound in his voice as if implying a calm but sincere sort of bit of disbelief.
"You know the more you help me the more I can help you? You can trust me if there is anything you're not saying. I'm a officer of the law young lady. We help people, Its what we do." Trying the simply minor plea of trust that sometimes worked on those scared after such events. People often wanted to feel protected and keep the danger away and out of mind especially after such hardships. The officer using the tactic as a chance to try and throw a second swing at gaining some intel perhaps or trying to get something to slip to further press questions into given the strange severity of the whole situation and the details presently at hand vague as they were.
"It seems kinda odd people would attack you over a feud or struggle yet you'd seem to know so little about it. Are you sure you don't want to tell me anything else? It's not smart to lie to the cops after all?" His voice, tone, and implication, like that of a calm officers bending several angles in his speech. Appearing kind and helpful if she was scared, but also light implications to try and see if he could spot if she was lying or had any tells to imply as such. In all truth he had very little to go off of and he couldn't really hold her any longer beyond a few questions. His pencil lightly tapping on his paper pad one of the few tells of his own he was growing a little impatient.

Feng would hear the officers question and his doubts would only add to her internal struggle. The entire situation seems surreal and every answer she gave only made her doubt on what she was saying was actually true. Would it be okay to confide her doubts to an officer of the law? Was her family even who they say they are? She could hear the tone of voice the officer was taking and it only made her wonder. What is her life up until this point and will stuff like this start happening more often? So many questions and yet she can’t give a single answer aside from a single gut feeling, her family is hiding something and she may have to find out the hard way...soon. She would take a deep breath and think carefully on how to word her response.
“To tell you officer...I don’t even have the answers to any of this...everything is a jumbled mess of information… I never lied to you officer...but I don't know if any of my answers are the truth myself...the more I think about it, the more confusing it becomes…”, she would say in a clearly as she would put her fingers to her forehead.”...An assassin who came after me due to some vendetta that was caused by my grandfather ...A girl who comes from a suburban family in the states is being hunted down....saying it outloud makes it sound like I’m crazy, huh?”, she would state outloud and it would repeat in her head over and over again to make sure she wasn't dreaming. What is her family, who is her mother, who were her siblings, what does any of this even mean. She would rub her face with her hands as just sigh in sheer exhaustion just to grasp the situation.
“Listen...I told you all I know and remember...and not a single one can answer our questions...unless you have some way to make sense of all of this, im as clueless as you on this...I’d welcome any answer at this point because absolutely none of this makes sense to me..”, she would say in a reserved tone as would drink her water. Her aunt has a lot of explaining to do the moment she gets here because this is a goddamn nightmare to keep track off. But for now, she hopes the officer is fine with that response and has something to contribute to it because his questions only seem to make more questions.

He couldn't help but sigh as she explained unsure what to believe and what not too. He felt himself grow a tad annoyed as he'd briefly show this mildly as his thumb and index finger briefly left his note pad to for a moment or two grip the bridge of his nose as if feeling a mild headache from setting in given the annoyance of the present circumstances and questioning.
He seemed to keep taking notes but eventually putting away his notepad as if a sign he was losing some hope or direction. "Forgive me but it all does kinda sound like some plot to a action film... We'll try and help but we really need more to go off of. Solid facts go allot further then speculation. If people are actually after you we should probably consider protective custody as well. Or at least informing your current living situations of this. Maybe and escort of some sort." He'd say partially thinking to himself and aloud for her benefit in conversation trying to think how to handle this going further. It was a rather aggravating situation and not nearly as clean cut as he may have originally expected it to be when the investigation and questioning had first began.

Feng would rub her temples as she knew the detective wasn't going to take her word alone. Of course, who would? All of these events in a chain feel like a plot to some action flick or a drama. Assassins, hidden family drama, a vendetta, what's next? Might as well just blurt out that she works for a hidden branch of the military. But she would take a deep breath to recollect her thoughts with only the facts. Taking another sip of water, she would look at the detective and attempt to do her best to give him the clearest facts.
“Look it all sounds crazy but if you want solid facts...The would-be assassin had a grasshopper mutation that allowed her to jump and kick like me, with difference being sound manipulation. She is bilingual from exchange we had as she can speak japanese and chinese. Responsible of a few injured officers in the nearby area as she told me. From what she said, she knows of my existence through last years sports festival. Her grandfather and my grandfather are related and something that happened in the past could be the cause. I’m gonna pen it down as ‘him leaving the country and leaving his brother behind’ as a cause…”She would list down and count on her finger as she recalled it.
As the detective would say something about protective custody, her eyes would roll as she would reply to it in the most reasonable fashion. “I live in the dorms at UA, if the assassin is that stupid to come and attack a place that is full of pro heroes, only then can she be seen as a serious threat. She fought me to a standstill and she only barely got away. Putting me under that kind of protection could also draw more attention...I can take care of myself”, she would pout and crosses her arms. Protective custody would prolly only make things worse as it would draw more attention to her than she already does.
