There was quiet for a few moments once Angel finished speaking, followed by Yumi and Feng's own words on the matter. Kamei kept her inhuman eyes trained to Angel's expression, each breath still exhaled a little harsher than normal. Kamenashi swallowed, her own eyes bouncing among them. With an answer given, Kamei broke her glare, and went silent. That she didn't have a response immediately may have been a good thing. If nothing else, the quiet was time to process what she'd been told. Kamenashi drew in a slow breath and lowered her hand from where it hovered at her sister's arm--not touching her, but still close enough that her presence was felt--to her lap again. She wasn't smiling anymore, but she didn't look angry or upset by everything said. Just pushed past whatever feeling of "comfort" she'd had before. " I don't think it's belittling," Kamenashi spoke softly, " It's...it just means you all understand and are going to do the right thing. Even if that's testifying, um, against us, if...if you still can do something to get him what he deserves, then that's all we can really ask for." She glanced towards her sister, who was still staring at the floor. " Right, Kamei?" Kamei closed her eyes. " Kame-nee?" Kamenashi pressed just a little more, her hand twitching on her seat towards her sister's chair. But Kamei spoke up before she could lift her hand to her side. " ...fine," she muttered. She sounded tired. " Whatever." The twins went quiet. If there were any more questions to be had, it would be up to the three heroes to ask them.

Feeling far more at ease as even Kamei seemed to calm down… it wasn’t perfect, but they couldn’t ask for perfect. God fuck now the lego movie 2 movie was playing in her head. we should maybe aim for not baaaaad- Yeah she quickly tried to wipe that tune out of her head before she ended up humming it at very much the wrong time. She watched the two sisters, still a little on edge in their own ways of course, and clarified a little.
“Or… testifying for you.” She added just for some clarification. “We can’t lie of course but the truth can do something for you. Beyond er… your ‘target’, none of the hostages seemed to gravely injured from what I could tell, you guys didn’t resort to using them as bait beyond.. again, the obvious. What could be a very harsh sentence right now… I dunno. Maybe us saying what we saw won’t do the most for you but even just… helping a jury or a judge empathize even a little. Hopefully it could help…” She sighed through her nose and added. “I can’t ever say it was… okay. Or justified… but it was understandable in it’s own way. Maybe we can help other’s see that and help you guys and… bring some form of justice to that guy too.”
Looking to Kamei, figuring a ‘whatever’ was the best she could get from the girl, she took a slow breath and tried to shift the tone. “Okay… how about a new topic before we all bum ourselves out huh?”
========================================================
Closing in on the end of their hour the girls had all spent their time together, Yumi’d done her best to try for some more uplifting topics, asking the girls more directly about their hobbies and… lightly sometimes asking about their lost sister, if only to try and bring in some good memories of her to the mood.
The time was ticking though, and Yumi could tell it was time for them to wrap up. “Okay… I think we need to get moving soon but… you two got anything else to say before we go…?” She’d ask her two comrades, before starting to rise from her seat.

T here truly wasn't much left that Angel could say or do to make their current situation any better. As she listened to Kame said that it was understandable that they had to testify against her and her sisters, but asked that if they could find a way to bring the man that hurt their sister to justice that it was all they could really ask for. This caused Angel to get lost in thought for a moment as she pictured young Kame and Kamei as both the child version of herself and her mother who looked at Angel with a look that seemed to be begging for justice. This image faded away like a water color painting before her as Yumi began to speak. Angel listened as Yumi said that while they couldn't lie they could possibly try and get the judge and jury to see their side of things so that their target could also get brought to justice. To this Angel just nodded as her eyes turned both sad and determined. These girls had done something terrible that was certain, but they had done so out of grief and aside from their intended target Yumi was correct in saying that there had been no serious injuries. If it was possible to get their sentence reduced then Angel would surely do her best and try for that outcome. These girls had made a mistake, but they didn't deserve to spend their lives in prison. They were good people who had been dealt a rough hand and Angel felt that they deserved a reshuffle. As their time came close to ending Angel allowed Yumi to take point on the rest of the small talk Angel just sat quietly while trying to think of something to say that wouldn't cause the development of the conversation to backslide. Once Yumi finally looked toward Feng and herself and asked if they had anything else to say Angel stood up and looked down at the two twins sitting before her. "It was nice fully meeting you. I can't make any promises, but if there is a chance that we can possibly get your sentences reduced so you don't spend the rest of your lives behind bars then I will try my hardest to make that a reality. I don't believe either of you are bad people, just a pair of sisters who something horrible had happened too. I also promise that when I become I pro that I will do my best to make sure something like what happened to you doesn't happen to anyone else."

A wave of relief went through Feng as the angeier twin started to calm down, but a faint but of rage could be felt in her glare directed at Angel.Though the silence that followed made her quite anxious as she quickly glanced between her and Yumi. Did she say the right words? Did we say something wrong? The calmer sister would take a deep breath and do her best to keep it moving as she began to speak again. Her tone was neutral and the request was quite simple. Perhaps that's the only thing they ever truly wished for at this point.
Yumi would begin to hum and speak to them once again to reassure them on what they can do. Most of the words were better said by her than anything else, she empathizes with their plight and hunger for justice. But in the end they did commit a crime and put people in harm's away, so even a little bit of reassurance is always needed.
However the topic has reached its natural conclusion as both sides had said everything they needed to say. Yumi proposed a new topic and Feng would try her best to think up responses for whatever she asks. ‘How can she keep up this energy?’ she wonders as more talks begin. =======================================
As the hour with them came to an end, Feng came away with a better understanding of the two and perhaps some closure on this whole ordeal. That heroes and villains seem rather misleading in the eyes of the public, people are complicated creatures that act in mysterious ways. Hearing how the twins life was before the incident brought a bit of dimension into her view of things. Victims of their circumstances and they simply chose the option when the law had failed them.
It wasn’t a huge change, but perhaps a start to something better once they started to soften up. Perhaps this could be a lesson that could serve her well in the future when she finally decides what field she wants to get into.
Yumi would remind them about their time coming to an end and ask about any parting words for the twins. Which was something she was always bad with, how can she respond after this roller coaster of questions. Angel said her words and they resonated well to her as they held a lot of the same views on this. But leaving off and letting others do the talking would leave a bad taste in her mouth. As she would finish her thoughts, Feng would take a deep breath and say her thoughts calmly and carefully.
“Finally talking to you two helped a lot...a lot of assumptions were corrected and now I can see you two in a different light. What you two did wasn’t right...but it was understandable given your circumstances... I'll do whatever I can bring you two the closure you need. I swear on it on my family name”

As the hour moved on, and the mood in the room grew into something more comfortable--if not "good"--again, the sisters showed more of themselves over time. Kamenashi was a little more on the dramatic side than her sister; everything was the best thing or the most awful, with very little room for a middle ground. She liked to talk about Kotone, even if it clearly still hurt her to think of her elder sister. Kamei, though still quiet for most of the time, sat up a little more from her angry slouch. Even if she didn't say much she would at least keep her eyes on Kamenashi when she spoke, and glance at whichever of the three heroes was talking, indifferent but not walled off. With things moving onto the end of their time, though, the twins met each others eyes and, for only a second, Kamei's lips twitched into a faint smile. It was gone before Yumi finished speaking. Kamenashi nodded. " Yeah, um, they'll be back any second now, probably. So..." Kamei looked over to Angel and away again very quickly. " ...just..." she muttered, " ...work on your...'sympathetic' shtick, maybe, before you...try it on anyone else." Kamenashi smiled a little easier and hovered her hand over her sister's shoulder, but didn't touch her. Not yet. " It's a bit of a long shot but thanks for trying anyway. We'll be good in here at least. That should...help, right?" Kamei scoffed and shrugged her shoulders. Suddenly, the door behind the twins opened, and both of them turned towards the well-dressed woman who walked in. Iseri Masago gave Yumi, Angel, and Feng a small nod. " Heroes, I regret to say your time is, indeed, up. Katoaka Kamei and Kamenashi, please stand up and exit through the door behind me, and you'll be brought back to the main common room until your next visit." The three were given one more chance to say good-bye before the Katoaka twins stood up--Kamenashi bowed as she stepped away, Kamei did not--and went towards the door where a security guard gave them both a nod before closing the door behind them. The lock went " click" behind them. Masago then returned her attention to the heroes, extending her arm to the door they had first come into the room from. " Heroes, right this way, if you would." From the small meeting room, back into the hallway with its solid white walls and barred windows. Masago walked alongside the girls, clipboard in her hand but not being looked at as she spoke. " I must admit I was concerned that you would get the same sort of treatment from Katoaka Kamei as the rest of us, but she actually spoke to you. And there was no Quirk use from either of them as well. That is...hopeful." She brushed a long brown curl behind her ear. " I have brief releases for for the three of you to look at. A confidentiality agreement, so you are made aware that speaking of any private information the girls shared with you in a non-legal setting is forbidden. I do not think that would be an issue for you, but this is for their privacy as well as yours." She lead them into a small sitting room, more furnished and clinical than the meeting room, with a desk with a receptionist behind it and a few other people in suits or security uniforms milling about. " Please wait here, and I'll have the forms for you to sign in just a moment." Masago gave another bow, gesturing to some of the comfortable looking benches against the wall, and then went into an office behind the reception desk. A few minutes went by. Time to mull things over, time to discuss among themselves if they wished. Time, perhaps, to look around at the staff of the correctional facility. A few others were sitting on the benches as well: a few elderly adults talking in sad, quiet voices; a young girl dressed not quite appropriately for this place and typing on her phone with passion; and a woman and man a bench away talking not too softly that they couldn't be heard. The woman was fiddling with what appeared to be a business card in her lap, while the man, dressed in a suit a little too formal for the rest of the counselors and case managers, had his hand on her shoulder, consoling her. " It's quite alright, Katoaka-san. I'll do my best to convince the girls to see you. But do think about what I've said, yes? This facility may not be best suited for them in their state...especially with Kamei-chan's Quirk. We can help."

“Yeah… that’s a good start.” She replied to Kamenashi’s last words before the people ‘running the show’ stepped into take them aside, nodding to them and offering a final goodbye to the sisters before they left. “I’ll visit again sometime. But I’ll try to be sure it’s… ya know. Not just a fruitless drive by. I’ll only visit if I hear anything I’m allowed to share on your case or about… well. Ya know.” She shrugged weakly, idly trying to hint at the sister’s ‘target’ persay.
She’d turn and lead the other girls out of the room, though maybe pulling back to squeeze their shoulders one at a time and give them a reassuring smile. She didn’t mean to be patronizing or anything but she was proud of how they’d each pulled themselves through the rather intense hour with the twins, as they all learned very early on that anything they said could have ended up like a landmine. As the person guiding them out talked about the twins Yumi felt a little more assured, but…
“Could…” She spoke up a little nervously, thinking for a few seconds before potentially betraying the twins. “Could you… keep a cautious eye on Kamei? I… I don’t think she did it maliciously, but her quirk came out when her sister tried to touch her. I didn’t see much contact between them so…I dunno. I know I’m only a hero in training, but given I’ve struggled to handle my own quirk in the past, maybe just keep an eye on her case? I…” She took a breath to try and focus her ramblings. “I don’t believe she entirely has control over her quirk… they’re very close sisters and if I had to hazard a guess, it looks like Kamei can’t fully control her quirk’s reaction when he skin is touched… but I could just be making a bad guess. I’m sure you guys know a lot more than we do.”
She might regret saying that later but… she wanted them to have all the information they could. To keep BOTH sisters safe.
Waiting for the papers in the… waiting room, Yumi’s eyes lifted up as she heard a name, crossing the room a little cautiously as she looked to the woman and the person talking to them, lowering her head to sort of get in their natural line of sight given they were sitting down, cautiously waving to get some of their attention. “Hey sorry… do you guys know Kamei and Kamenashi?” She was careful not to say ‘we just visited them’, given they were about to sign confidentiality agreements.

T he rest of the hour seemed to go by in a flash as small talk was exchanged and things about the now deceased sister Kotone shared. Despite the pain in Kame's voice as she spoke of her fallen sister Angel could tell that it was doing her some good to speak of her. Angel knew from personal experience that sometimes the best way to deal with grief and trauma was to share it out in the open to empathic individuals such as the heroes in front of her. As the hour finally ended Angel's attention was brought to Kamei as she told the hero to work on her sympathetic approach before trying it on anyone else. To this Angel let out a small giggle. "I'll make sure to do that! This has been a learning experience for everyone especially me so I humbly thank you both!"As Kame thanked the heroic trio for trying to help them and then asked if them behaving while in juvy would be helpful to their case. This caused Angel to tap her chin before looking at her two cohorts as she remembered what Yumi said about thinking before she spoke. She didn't want to give these girls false hope but she also didn't want them feeling hopeless at the same time! She then heard Yumi say that it was a good start and so Angel turned her attention back to the sisters. "My crime fighting cohort is right! Now don't quote me on this because i am by no means an expert, but if you two play your cards right and are on model behavior you just might be able to get time off your sentences for good behavior or at the very least earn some sort of reward to make your stay here more pleasurable."Once Angel said this she watched as the doors behind the twins opened up and the well dressed official Ms.Masago walked in and quickly instructed the twins to leave. As the twins left Angel made sure to give them a happy wave and a smile before she turned her attention back to the handler escorted them back into the large hallway and explained that she was surprised that Kamei spoke to them. To this Angel grinned her usual grin and chuckled. "You just gotta find a way to relate to her is all it seems! They aren't bad kids, just kids that made a couple bad decisions. Speaking of,If they are well behaved is there a possibility of them getting time taken off their sentence or at least getting some small concessions to make their stay here a bit easier? They may have powers and may have done something awful, but they aren't super villains. They are a pair of twins who had someone they loved taken from them and acted out of grief. I'm not condoning their actions by any means I'm just saying that if they do try to actively behave and improve it should earn them some leniency."Angel then raised an eyebrow as she heard Yumi throw Kamei under the bus by telling their handler that she had activated her quirk possibly by accident and then added on that she may not have full control of her quirk. This caused Angel to squeeze the bridge of her nose in slight frustration as Yumi while trying to help may have just undone any good will the twins may have gained. Angel instead of speaking out decided to remain silent as the handler explained they had to sign none disclosure agreements and were forbidden to take information out of the place. To this Angel just nodded as they were lead into the waiting area and left alone while the Handler went to go get the forms. While the trio waited Angel also heard the conversation between the well dressed suited man and a rather upset woman. It didn't take long after hearing the conversation for Angel to deduce that the woman holding the buisness card could possibly be related to the twins as she remembered that the Handler had told them that the twins mother had been trying to see them, but that they had refused! Keeping this information in mind Angel quickly followed Yumi over to the man and woman and ask them if they knew the twins. To this Angel leaned in to whisper in Yumi's ear as softly and as quietly as she could. "I think this woman is the twin's mama. Remember when we first got here the strict handler lady said that their mom had been trying to visit them, but that they kept refusing."Once this information was relayed Angel turned her attention back to the pair in front of them and bowed like she usually did while using her left wing as a cape as if she were a prince. She then stood straight and gave the pair a big smile. "Forgive my friend's forwardness! I'm the Angel of Mercy and these are my fellow heroes in training Curved Lightning and Typhoon Dragoon. We were sent here to shadow the staff so that we could learn how the correctional system works for when we become pro heroes! Isn't that right ladies!?"Angel made sure to try and put emphisis on her question so that her two crime fighting cohorts would go along with her little white lie so that they wouldn't be breaking their non-disclosure agreement. If they played their cards right they could learn some rather valuable information that could help the twins.

She would nod as their time with the twins came to a close. It was rather intense hour as it mostly a game of balancing the mood. Keeping the topic light as rather easier than initially thought but it seemed that only one of the twins was opening up. But Feng would catch glimpses at the other twin at times as she would sometimes glance at them for a moment before looking away. Her time in UA gave her a unique skill of reading some people's mood, it wasn't perfect but it does come in handy in and out of fights.
Kamei was slowly opening up to say the least. It was a start and it was a good time as any to say her piece to them as Angel and Yumi did. “...I’ll visit and talk with both of you at a different time...perhaps something more light for that next time,'' she would say as her cohorts finished their pieces. Masago then notified them of their time limit and as that was it. As both groups were escorted out, she could feel the weight on her chest lighten up as she walked to the door. She would wave to the twins and shine a smile at them before heading out. Leaving with a better understanding of the situation the twins are in as well as seeing that there is hope for them to be reformed.
The trio would walk alongside the well dressed woman as she would talk about their attempts to talk to the twins. Seems like hero group had better luck than them considering what happened when they attempted. So our presence here did show that they are capable of changing and considering no one died during the incident, one can hope they can get off on good behavior with enough time. Then came the paperwork as all of these would usually go, not talking about the things here and so on. It was a hassle but at least the demons in her head started to calm down. Yumi would then voice her concern about Kamei and her actions during the session. As much as it pains her to admit it, she does have a point. Angels physical reaction was obvious for the obvious reasons, as they did just spend the last hour in there talking and gaining their trust. But it was also their duty nonetheless and she simply nodded to it as she didnt know what else to say.
They were soon lead to a waiting area as they waited to get the papers signed. It was about as calm as a waiting room can get with the atmosphere being quite heavy as the function of the place was clear. Various voices can be heard around them as they waited, some varied in tone as each person in there is there for a completely different reason. She won’t pry into their business as it seemed rude, but one particular exchange did ring in her ears and it seems the others caught onto it as well as Yumi took the initiative in asking the core question and Angel introducing us. Though the act she was putting was quite risky considering where they are and didn’t check on who else was overhearing this. But she will play along to say the least as they never signed the agreement yet and the others seemed to have the same idea due to curiosity.
“Correction: we are here to check out the place to see how this facility works and perhaps talk to some of the residents…such as two who were recent detainees.. so we can better understand what kind of people are sent here...”, Feng would correct and add on as she adjusted her suit. Growing up with a few siblings gives her a special skill in lying in specific times such as this and boy is it handy. Making certain hand motions to Yumi and Angel to keep it going.

Masago's steps slowed only for half of a second before they continued at her prior pace. " We're aware that Kamei-san has limited control over her Quirk. It is touch activated, which is why she has a special uniform that covers the majority of her skin. If it activated in that meeting then it was done either intentionally by herself or Kamenashi-san. Regardless," there was a small creak of wood as her hand clenched on the clipboard in its grasp, " Thank you for informing me of this. We will be sure to improve security for future visitations so we do not miss it again." That was all she would say on the matter. While it was the right choice legally, and morally in the long-term, that may have been a step in the wrong direction in the moment. As the girls came up one by one and began to speak, the woman and man both looked in their direction. Now that they were up close, the resemblance between Katoaka Sunada and her daughters was striking. While not as precise as the twin's own similarities they shared the same pale skin, same black hair--though hers was longer, down to her ribs, and kept cleaner--and same shape of her eyes. Hers were a deep brown color, though, and not the eerie iris-less purple pupils of Kamei and Kamenashi. She had faint crow's feet in the corners of her eyes and worry lines on her forehead, and the red over her nose and under her eyes made it clear that she'd been crying frequently. There was little room for doubt of who this woman was. " Th-They...they're my daughters..." Sunada's voice was very softly, thick with tears threatening to spill out, " Why?" The man looked between the three heroes in front of him, meeting Yumi's amber with piercing, brilliant green. The hard lines of his brow furrowed for a moment before Angel spoke and he glanced at her, then at Feng in turn. Sunada never took her eyes off the girl who spoke her daughter's names. He sighed softly, a weak, almost awkward smile trying to make its way onto his face as he stood up, and offered a hand to the closest to him--Feng--to shake. " In that case; Masato Mokusei. I'm part of the legal team working with Katoaka-san's daughters in the coming trial." This guy was a lawyer? Seriously? The poor bastard didn't look much older than they did. He was out of his league with this case, and it was clear in his face that he was nervous, but trying hard to shrug it off. He gave a small bow once his hand had been freed. " Am I right in assuming that you know Kamenashi and Kamei, heroes?" Seated behind him, Sunada drew in a trembling breath. Anticipation was dawning in her face. Expectation. Hope. " You--you know my girls?? Are they okay?!"

“O-oh!” She quickly chimed, realizing a possible mistake then as she got more information to work off of. “T-then there’s no problem! Kamenashi just touched her accidentally, I could see from her reaction it was meant to be like, a gentle moment gone wrong or something. Really. None of us were in danger or anything, just a genuine accident.” She nodded to sort of add emphasis to her words, still a little nervous about the whole thing, but even then it was best they be provided with the whole picture whatever happens. She could tell that Angel was frustrated with her decision but Yumi stood by what she did, not thinking there was really any other way she could come away from this feeling she took the right actions. “Really, I’m sure there’s protocol you have to follow, but I wanna emphasize none of us were in danger, I just wanted to be honest with you, especially given I’m sure you all have some say in who’s allowed to visit…” And even if not, Yumi still preferred to be honest.
All the same she wouldn’t push the issue, and soon be in the lobby.
That was all she would say on the matter. While it was the right choice legally, and morally in the long-term, that may have been a step in the wrong direction in the moment.
As they talked to the woman who was soon revealed to be the twin’s mother, Angel and Feng quickly tried to start covering their asses, and Yumi had to resist the urge to pinch the bridge of her own nose in frustration this time. The information of the twin’s arrest was televised, all it’d take was a spark of memory for either of these people to know who the three of them are and-
“Sorry, excuse my friends we’re just… waiting on a non disclosure form. We’re the trainee heroes who were with Yellow Jacket when your daughters erm… well, you know.” She tried to speak as clearly as possible without just saying ‘they took hostages and got arrested’.
She’d look to the lawyer, as fresh faced as he was she was sure he must at least know some law to be doing what he was doing. “I’m sure you can understand we can’t say much, even if we havn’t signed the forms yet, but I think it’s safe to at least let you know we just got done with a visit and… they’re looking good. I don’t feel safe saying much more but… honestly, given their position, their holding up well.”

S o much for team synergy! That's the very thought that entered Angel's mind as Feng quickly corrected her once more by saying by saying they were there to see how the staff worked and also possibly talk to some of the inmates including the twins who they weren't supposed to say that they were visiting. This lead Angel to just cross her arms silently and flexed them in frustration showing some of her actual strength that the effect of her quirk kept hidden. She then listened as the lawyer man introduced himself right after the woman said that the twins were indeed her daughters. As the lawyer asked if they knew the twins Angel prepared to answer to try and save the whole keep the meeting a secret thing, but before she could get a word out Yumi who had quickly become the defacto leader of the trio spilled the beans about them being with the Hero Yellow Jacket when everything went down. Luckily she understood that she couldn't reveal too much due to their arrangement only saying that the twins looked good. To this Angel nodded respectfully before deciding to add in her two bits of opinion with a confident grin. "Despite everything that they have been through their sisterly connection has held strong and I believe because of that no matter how hard the road ahead will be they will come out of it better and stronger then when they started. I have faith that upon their release whenever that may be they will be strong enough to be productive members of society. That's just my opinion as a hero in training though."As Angel finished giving her piece of mind she did her best to give the mom and comforting smile to try and set her mind and heart at ease. She knew full well that she wanted to be there for her daughters, but despite Angel's belief's and how strongly she clung to them she had to recognize that they couldn't help someone who truly didn't want to be helped. Hopefully however the meeting with the trio will have made the twins want to try and reach out to their mother as she was the last remaining member of their family that they had left. Angel just had to have faith that the twins would do the right thing. She truly only had one thing left to say. "I'm sure given time the twins will come to appreciate that their mother is trying to be there for them during their darkest time."

Much like lying to an eagle eyed mom, it was immediately dropped as Yumi came in as the voice of reason and told the parent and lawyer who they were exactly. She would kick herself for playing along but it was more or less the better solution in the long run. Maybe it was the wave of relief that made her sloppy and forget why they were here. Eh it's a lesson learned at least she would take a moment to regain her thoughts and got ready to roll with the mistake she made herself. If she wasn't here to keep the both of them anchored, this would have turned awkward if they rolled with it.
“She got me...yep, we are trainees that were with Yellow Jacket during that”, she would add n as she would doubly make sure that she doesn't say the entire fact of ‘oh yeah your daughters took a bunch of hostages and put up quite a fight with a pro hero..’ So she kept her mouth shut as she cautiously shook the lawyers hand.
The lawyer looked not much older than trio and damn well could be a friend of her twin brother. Something about him screamed budget, maybe it's the nervousness in tone or the fact that he looks like he was fresh out of law school. Also the tone of voice was a dead give away that he was nervous as hell as he was trying to mask it with a professional tone. She felt like it was enough, she would retract her hand and turn her attention to the mother. Angel gave her usual as she would keep her eyes wandering and occasionally look at the mother. Trying to get a good idea on her based on appearance alone. She seemed like a normal mom, but what is she hiding and why does she have a lawyer with her. And why a fresh face to represent a case like this? Where was she in this entire ordeal? All of this revolves around their sister but only few mentions of their mom were said. Damn well they know more about the ‘suspect’ in question than their own mother. Something felt off here, but she couldn't put her finger on it. The twins must have gotten those traits from someone and she cant rule out the possibility that there was a reason why the mom wasn’t allowed in. But basing ideas off assumptions aint exactly smart, so she would keep her mouth shut as she tried to get a good read on the mom.

The lawyer gave a small nod, anxiety in his smile still not fading. The lies--even the attempt of one, rather than being honest outright--had not gone unnoticed. Trust had been lost here. " Of course," he said in response to Yumi mentioning the non-disclosure agreement. " I should have realized." Sunada watched with wide, wet eyes between the three heroes, taking in things a little slower than, perhaps, one should be. When Yumi finished speaking--and Feng gave her agreement and admittance--her eyes went to Angel. Tears began to build up behind her eyelashes, and the lawyer, to his credit, dropped his smile and moved to sit back down at her side. " K-Katoaka-san, plea--" She shot up from her chair before he could finish. Tears now streaking down her face she closed the distance between herself and the trio of interns, her hands clenched tightly to the front of her shirt. " HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO THEM?! THEY'RE ONLY CHILDREN!! THEY AREN'T VILLAINS!! THEY'RE IN MOURNING!! WHY DOESN'T ANYBODY SEE THAT THE DEATH OF THEIR SISTER--OF MY CHILD!!--HAS CAUSED THEM SO MUCH PAIN--YOU HAD NO RIGHT TO HURT THEM!! YOU HAD NO RIGHT TO ARREST THEM!! THEY'RE--they're...!!" She wobbled in place, swaying just enough that she needed to be caught. " K-K-Kamei has so little control...all her l-life she's been so scared of hurting anyone...but she can't control her Quirk! Kamenashi has always been so sweet and cheerful...she would never do something like what the news said...!! Wh-When they lost their father I tried so hard to keep them happy...I tried, even without a q-Quirk of my own..." her voice grew thicker and thicker with sobs until it was sort of hard to make out her words, " Kotone...Kotone was always there for them...when I couldn't...I couldn't help them, when I couldn't relate...but...how can I do anything if they're in this place?! They're suffering and I can't...!!" The lawyer winced, pity and concern fighting for a place in his expression, but kept away by his poor attempt at professionalism. He didn't know what to say to comfort her. Instead he looked at the heroes. " ......we're trying to have the girls moved to a more Quirk-friendly facility. If not both of them then...then at least just Kamei-san, due to the unstable nature of her Quirk. We obviously don't want to split them up but, well..." He trailed off, sighed, and shook his head. " I've got a meeting with them. Legally, they have to see me, even if they refuse to speak with Katoaka-san. We're hoping I can convince them to see her first and foremost, but also to...to talk Kamei-san about the other facility. See if it appeals to her more." " If she feels more comfortable there, then...maybe it will open her up more to seeing her mother, and moving on."

Yumi bowed her head in a brief dip to the lawyer. Even if she’d not been the one to lie she could tell the effect something like that could have, and she hoped her explanation, and perhaps (though she didn’t want to use it as a crutch) their inexperience could justify their actions… at least a little. “Yeah, sorry about that but.. thank you for understanding. We’re still getting used to the fact things like this may be the norm for us so… yeah. Thank you.”
Yumi spotted something building in the mother, and she was thankful she did. With how Yumi could be she… it was very easy for her to faulter and panic, but since the first time they’d dealt with the twins out in the field she’d been taking extra speaking lessons with Mosa, both encompassing public speaking and… ethical situations like this. She steeled herself ready for what was to come, and she tried her best not to stare ‘through’ the mother as she maintained eye contact, without faultering, but not offering a steely, cold face in turn… it was a hard balancing act but she ultimately felt she pulled it off, as difficult as it felt in that moment to not just start sputtering out apologies.
When she wobbled, Yumi took a cautious step forward, but as she caught the woman’s weight a little in her hands she tipped her head to the other two, signalling for one of them to help, and easing the woman back to her seat if she’d allow them to do so for her.
“I…” She took a long breath as she stepped back to give her some space. “I am sorry… I could sit here and spout rulebook quotes to you and all that but… I am genuinely sorry. It’s a horrible situation to be in and as much as I could use any defense of… they still broke the law… you are right. They are in mourning. They’re in terrible circumstances the law can’t really make exceptions for but…” She briefly ran a hand back through her hair, eyes a little dim as she tried to be reasonable but… empathetic. “As upset as you are now I… I ask you sort of see the situation they created. You’re upset and… hurting because your daughters are in a place where they could be scared and worried and you can’t reach them… but your daughters did that to a lot of people the day they got arrested… I know they were in mourning but as much as you want people to see that, a lot of other mothers are gonna want you to see the fear they instilled in their own kids and… I don’t think that’s a rabbit hole any of us are really stable enough to go down just yet.”
God she… that metaphor got away from her but she hoped she made a point without sounding preachy. “But I want to emphasize… I do understand. It’s why I want to help your daughters in what little ways I still can.” She’d state that firmly. It wasn’t a secret, not something the non disclosure would stop her saying. She’d been clear on that outside their meeting just now for some time.
She’d listen to them talk about the quill sister and it gave Yumi something to chew on briefly. She felt she should offer a word of advice on that but would… would sharing her opinions on that break the disclosure agreement in some way?
“I… I think that may be just… faintly ill advised. I don’t want to pretend to be an expert on your daughter’s ma’am but they’re clearly somewhat reliant on eachother… if you can move both of them by all means I’d love to see them somewhere that better suits their quirk natures but… if you can only move one I think you’d be doing more harm.” She felt like she was being preachy and- “S-sorry I… I really don’t mean to invade I just… I do genuinely wanna see them pull through all this and I think parting them would just worsen their own aspects. Co-dependance may not be the most healthy thing but a harsh separation won’t do them any good either, even with good intentions…”

A ngel had been expecting the explosion that was about to happen since the moment she had realized whom the trio were speaking to. As the twin's mother stood and began to lay into the trio saying that they had no right to arrest her daughters Angel just took a deep breath and just remained silent. She just remained that way as the mother began to explain that Kamei indeed couldn't control her quirk, that the news had gotten them wrong and that since they lost their father she had been doing her best to keep them happy. She then lamented that she couldn't help them like their fallen sister. As Yumi moved to help the mother sit back down Angel quickly moved to help her companion do so after she was nodded at. "Easy there! We've got you!"As Yumi did her best to try and explain their side of things Angel couldn't help but feel a swell of pride at how well she was doing at trying to handle the situation. It was clear that out of the three heroes in training Yumi was the best suited and capable of talking down those who came at them with blame and hatred for just doing their jobs. Angel had no doubt that once they were pros that Yumi would quickly rise through the ranks to become one of the world's top heroes. Once the mother was sitting once more Angel quickly stepped back and listened to the lawyer say that he was trying to get the Kamei moved to a more quirk adapted facility. This lead Angel to be filled with concern as she raised an eyebrow. Luckily Yumi was also thinking the same and quickly spoke up saying that separating the twins would do more harm then good. This was Angel's time to speak up to try and help her crime fighting companion. "I believe my companion is correct. As you said ma'me they are currently grieving and while we were speaking to them I could tell that despite her gruff exterior Kamei has desperately leaning on her sister for emotional support and the opposite is true as well."As Angel spoke she knelt down gently in front of the woman with a compassionate and gentle smile as she continued. "I understand you want to be there for them and that you want them to want you to be there, but as my friend said separating them could be a emotionally fatal mistake. Not only could they blame you forever for the separation causing you to lose them forever, but the sudden solitude from her sister and support system could cause Kamei to lash out in anger and grief which would just make things worse especially if she loses control of her quirk. Like Curved Lightning said,if you can try to get them both to the same location that would be the best option."Angel then looked back at Yumi and Feng for a moment before looking back toward the mom and the lawyer. "We are currently interning with the Pro hero Yellow Jacket. If you'd like I could try and speak to her about her using her status as a pro as well as her connection to this case to try and help you get both girls moved to the more quirk friendly facility. I can't promise that it will work, but I will promise that I will try. No one deserves to be so alone in such tragic times. If I can help make your lives a bit brighter and help bring you three back together as a family then I will do my best."
