Jun spoke to Shizume, and Narcissa spoke to Sonya. Meanwhile Giovanni just observed the opera performance. Antonio meanwhile was sitting in the background a bit bored. The opera performance didnt entertain him nor intrigue him as it did his Boss. Instead the bodyguard of a spainiard just observed everything and everyone around him. He listened to Jun and how he spoke to Shizume, although he didnt feel like interjecting and coming in that conversation.
Sonya and Narcissa were still having their alone time away. Which left Antonio here, just sighing. This was the most boring outing he ever had, and god he hoped he'd get something out of it. Maybe if he perhaps excuses himself for a bit. Hmm, indeed that seemed like an idea he settled on. "Excuse me Boss, I just need to take care of something" he whispered, but Giovanni was dismissive and just said "Whatever" Which meant he was free to go. Antonio got up and walked to the hallway, where the two ladies were "Ladies?" he adressed the two of them "Something the matter?" he asked as he leaned on the wall and crossed his arms. He doesnt really care what they do, as long as it meant he gets that fine eye candy and of course to please his curiosity. These two were far more interesting then the opera

Ishtar watched the Bardbadian woman with thinly veiled fascination. A smug, thin lipped smile stretching across her lips that normally looked calm and placid when her eyes were closed. But here, her eyes open, her glowing pink gaze boring into Narcissa's, there was something sickly sweet about it all. A sinister veil that cast itself over the two of them. She strode forward while Narcissa worked up her nerve to speak. Even now. With all the answers, with the open door, she still tried to hide it; she was ashamed of what she was. She wasn't ready, but she would be.
"I am." Ishtar turned to look at her when she spoke; her eyebrow raised, they were shoulder to shoulder now. Ishtar about to pass her by. The Villain could sense her tension, her simmering fear. Was it just the nature of a villain to be able to taste it on the air? Or was it her own experience? "I don't know any plans, I have been working up myself, but I would maybe of use eventually," Ishtar shook her head and examined her own nails, walking past Narcissa as she spoke.
"What plans?" Ishtar asked, playing dumb, a cool tone in her voice, "What Use? To who? Why? Where are those questions you promised me?" She asked, stopping behind Narcissa. She placed her hands on the woman's hips, rested her pale chin on her shoulder, and leaned in close, a whisper on her breath; "Say it. Take the plunge. The first step is acceptance..." She exhaled against Narcissa's ear; "Dearie."
She stepped back with a small laugh, "Say it, Say it, You are a vil-"
A voice cut her off, her eyes flicked up, the mood of the room shifted completely. Predation, anger, hostility, bloodlust, it all billowed out in a sudden drop in temperature. Her eyes narrowed, cold glare aimed for Antonio. Her eyes focused and unfocused, rows of glowing lenses spinning inside the two orbs in her head. Her head canted to the right; like a wolf examining a fresh corpse. She stalked around Narcissa, a faint glow beginning to form on her fingertips.
In the same heartbeat, the moment passed, the rage fizzled and died, the temperature in the room normalized; "Eavesdropping isn't polite, dearest Antonio," She said gently, the smile returning to her face. She pressed her fingers together before her; "Especially when a young woman is asking for advice from her lady friends, mmm? You should know better... a gentleman like yourself..." She said, before glancing over her shoulder at Narcissa before tossing her hair and giving Antionio a cunning smile and placing a finger at the very center of his chest; her voice lowering; "Next time... you can have her when I'm done..." She whispered to him, a warning in her voice.
She'd have to tell Giovanni that the girl wasn't ready, of course. To take the jump to become a true Villain. To accept the name and what it meant. That is... unless she worked up the courage in the next few moments. Ishtar glanced over her shoulder one last time, a cool smile directed at Narcissa. Come on. Now you have an audience. Do you have it in you to accept it with more than one pair of eyes on you? | TAG WORDS NOTES

As the night went on Jun's hunger swelled. Entertainment on the streets was generally far more base than what he experienced now. Enjoyable in their own right, to be sure. Jun would probably never go tired of the simple joys of watching a confident opponent give in to despair cast away their pride for the hope of mercy. But such displays of power were exceedingly less elegant than what he truly desired. What he was enjoying now, as only the tiniest of appetizers.
And as the night went on, the fact it was only an appetizer grew more prevalent in the feminine boy's mind. Like a dark cloud on the horizon. After this he would go back to the halfway constructed office building, with its uncleaned interior, lack of heating, electricity and water. Even the chair he currently sat on was more comfortable than the makeshift bed he had back "home". Such a far cry this was from what he regularly experienced. And yet for the others this was no doubt to them like flipping on the TV was to regular people.
The difference in status was obvious and while most would see the gap, call it insurmountable and be content in their lot, this did not apply to Jun. Instead of a canyon, he merely saw a path yet hidden, waiting to be revealed by those determined enough. Such was his ambition; to clear the gap and then some, to rise far above the masses to a position where he might become untouchable and thus free to enjoy this world's pleasures in whatever manner he desired. A remarkable hunger for one so small.

God she hated this. The questions that spilled over her made her again grit her teeth and bare it. She did not want to feel like a child or be treated like one. She wanted to brush Sonya off, forget it. Why had she taken her mask off, what did it even matter to the rest of the world. She was simply scum and unnecessary, she was nothing and no one. "I did not promise questions." She had enough, enough questions, enough of this. She did not like it at all, "I know what I want to do, but that is up to me." She snapped at Sonya, it was clear she was frustrated, "I can get access to information some only can dream off and I only have to work more, show interest and I can get even further than just being the poppy doll everyone thinks I am. I will provide information, I will find information that people need and give it to them." She said snarky, this wasn't her thing, she was going to find that touch stone and she was going to destroy it. Everything, the stupid symbols that they wanted but she was not going to risk her face ever again.
She had to say she was a villain? God how childish was that. She looked at Antonio as he came in and where Sonya was blood-thirsty and villainous about his sudden arrival, Narcissa felt a slight piece of hope. Maybe regret, anything really. She looked away, right, this was a lot harder than just being out for revenge. She did not want to see anyway. She almost got tempted to say that everyone should forget she said anything. Why did she believe someone could care about her in such a world, it did not matter what side of the law you were on. Everyone only cared about themselves.
"I know what I want. And I am going to get that way no matter what. I am a villain if that's what you are asking." She swallowed her pride because that look on Sonya her face, it crawled on her skin and she simply had no need to look them directly in their eyes, eyebrows were for that, it was a handy trick the politicians had taught her. There was no need for anything but the right posture, her strong shoulders, her hands on her hips and the determined expression on her face. "and I will prove it to you as I have already been working before this meeting." And she had a lot more planned, soon the whispers of the Daffodil will be heard.

As he watched the opera, he grew bored of it. He looked aside to notice Narcissa and Sonya were gone. Did they leave? Is that what Antonio went to do? Check? Giovanni wondered if he should go do that as well, but decided to give them all 5 more minutes. With Sonya away, he was safe to say that this opera was not his cup of tea. Too Japanese if you ask him. ~Meanwhile in the hallways with the ladies~ Sonya asked Antonio if he was eavesdropping after he asked them if something was the matter. Antonio smiled to Sonya and said "My my. If I was eavesdropping I wouldnt have said anything and would have just let you two ladies finish the conversation." he looked at them and continued "I wanted to check if you two were ok. You are missing the opera. I thought it'd be a shame if you missed it. I didnt know you two ladies were mingling and asking some girly advice" he played dumb, but he knew there was more serious stuff going on then what Sonya let on. And that was even more obvious when she whispered to him in a warning like manner that he can have her when she was done. Antonio wasnt phased by her as he was not afraid of russians like his Boss was
Soon though the spainiard understood what the conversation was about. The Russian lass wanted to make Narcissa admit she was a villain. Something the lovely Barbadian soon admited anyway. It turned out the spanish man walked into a cat fight. Something he didnt expect. He tried to calm down the situation "Ladies, ladies. Cálmese, calm down. We're all villanos here, right? No need to get all fired up. We have to focus those flames against the héroes"

She didn't promise questions? That was a lie. She 'claimed' to have so many. Ah, oh, Ishtar understood. She was embarrassed now. Fearful. Under scrutiny. There was no pride in who and what she was. That was Ishtar's problem with her. That was her problem with so many of the so-called villains in this new hero society. Certainly, villains would not be able to openly declare themselves as such. A villain was a criminal in the eyes of hero society. That did not mean, however, that when in the company of their own kind they had to be so damn coy about it. It was pointless, and in fact, it was a little insulting to the pride Ishtar felt as a villain. A true villain.
Her eyes narrowed when Narcissa began speaking again. She stopped and turned to listen, polite, regardless of her disappointment with the young woman. Pink eyes glowed bright as she measured the Barbadian woman up. She was trying to sell herself. And? So? Ishtar already saw her value, she saw her potential, she knew all this. There was no need in singing to a choir. Ishtar waited, she could see the emotions playing on the woman's face. Her eyes flicked to the left only to acknowledge Antonio who spoke plainly. She honestly wasn't angry with him, it was obvious enough that Antonio and Giovanni were villains as well. "Apology accepted Antonio," She said with a sigh and a small smile that she directed back at Narcissa. She waited. And waited. Watching the emotions play there way out.
Then... at last;
"I know what I want. And I am going to get that way no matter what. I am a villain if that's what you are asking."
Yes! Yes! Even if it was offhanded, even if it wasn't a declaration. It was all she had to say. Say it out loud. Accept it! There was no point in turning away from an identity. Society may have decided that quirkers who worked outside the law were villains. But it was up to those 'villains' to take the word for their own. To make it a badge of honor. Of dignity. Of pride. Ishtar bore her teeth, her eyes glowing with a renewed intensity. She placed a hand on Antonio's shoulder. "You just witnessed the birth of a new villain, dear Antonio, good for you," She hissed, giving his shoulder a squeeze and resumed her approach of Narcissa. "...then Prove it, Daffodil. Tell Ishtar all about it," She said quietly. Slipping her hand into her purse and drawing out something small and metallic. "Antonio call your dear boss and Jun in here with us. I have something to share once ... Daffodil is done sharing," She hissed, "Thank you." She added.

Jun's musings had taken him out of the artful display on the stage below. He wasn't the only one whose attentions drifted elsewhere. Giovanni seemed quite frankly bored with the whole thing. As for the others, they'd already taken off for some private conversation. No matter, the three would no doubt return in time. If not they'd simply rendezvous during an intermission or even upon the show's end. Jun did not think it would serve any purpose to intrude upon them. He'd likely have little to nothing to add to the conversation and more likely simply be seen as a nuisance. Hardly what one wanted when taking their first steps in the wider world of villainy.
Instead it made more sense to cozy up with the bored Italian and so Jun moved seats. Without any words he planted himself in the center seat right next to Giovanni, where Sonya had previously sat. Perhaps she might see it as a slight against her should she return but Jun thought little of it. It would be a good test of her character.
"Not a fan?" He asked Giovanni, keeping his eyes forward on the stage below, but not really paying attention to the show itself. "Seems you're not the only one." Jun glanced towards the door in the back. "But no matter. You seem rather close with our benefactor. How long have you known Sonya?" Jun turned to Giovanni as he asked, wearing an innocent smile.

She wasn't sure how to consider this. What she thought how this would go, she thought it was practising and she was still new to the game, hence the mask. Which wasn't why she was entirely happy that Antonio would get Jun, she did not know this person and the trust circle was small so she quickly put the mask back on her face. It wasn't entirely fair and she would have that U.A. student in the neighbourhood and this was a dangerous game. She took a deep breath, "Share? I just have no plan yet, but I consider that I can work my way up, gain information from being the innocent person in the government. As an ambassador from Barbados especially learning about the hero program here. I don't know yet," She wanted to say revenge but that was pathetic, she did not want to hear that from Sonya. She took a deep breath, "I haven't figured out the exact meaning, I want to be useful, I want to provide information for those that deserve it." Which was another vague something that they could not talk about yet. But with Antonio gone, it was maybe easier. "I know it's all vague still and the like, I haven't figured everything out yet, what I can do and what I can't. I am not a fighter." She knew that she knew she could do better, she just had to get rid of the blockade, that meant that she would have to work out a lot. Too much to figure out yet, but she had to do something, she had to learn. "I am trying to learn more and work better."
Narcissa took a deep breath at Sonya, she almost made a snappy remark that not everyone could be so confident as Sonya was, she did not want to ask the woman to teach her, keep her under her wing, no, she just wanted to be on her own and also learn yes preferably by Sonya and Giovanni. But for now, this was the best she could do, heaving her head a little to make sure that Sonya did not think of her as a child that would just harm her whole reputation.

Antonio shrugged and went to fetch his Boss just like how Sonya ordered ~Meanwhile~ Giovanni was approached by Jun who tried to make conversation. He asked how long has Giovanni known Sonya "One month" he said briefly. He soon got up so he could leave. But thats when Antonio arrived "Boss and um... Jun, I believe? Sonya needs you two" "I see" Giovanni said and then montioned with his hand for Antonio to come. The two moved a bit away so the UA student cant see them. Giovanni then reached for his glove and slapped ANtonio in the face with it. He angrily and quietly through his teeth spoke "Who told you to obey someone else?! You're under my thumb. Remember that!" He then turned to Jun, calmer "It seems we are needed. Care to join?"
Giovanni had no idea what was up that they all had to leave the performace. Hopefully it wasnt another shitshow. Soon, he arrived out to the hallway and noticed a masked Narcissa and Sonya who was there "Yes? What was wrong?" he asked politely and slightly sternly. What was going on behind the scene, he did not know. Antonio was behind Giovanni and looked at Narcissa

And Daffodil did share; more than she realized. She wanted to be a procurer of information; a knowledge wielder, an information broker of sorts. A tool of incomprehensible power to say the least; yet more than that. Her reaction to the young hero that had been brought in for their amusement; her homeland, her profession, her outlook, what she immediately mentioned she was studying here in Japan. It all seemed to hint at something; to point at something. Isthar filed the information away for now, it was like a jigsaw puzzle with only a third of the pieces. The image was present, but not yet intact enough to become comprehensible. That was fine. Ishtar's smile curled and she reached into her shirt again, drawing out the items in her pocket. It was time at last.
She glanced up when a red-faced Antonio and a stern Giovanni entered the room. His terseness drew Ishtar's attention; she inclined her head respectfully to the Italian villain; "I meant no disrespect by asking Antonio to retrieve you," She offered, placing a hand over her heart. "I merely wish to present you, and those gathered, with a gift as thanks for coming out this evening. We villains have always believed that friendship is an intangible, untouchable thing. I don't believe that for a moment..." She said, extending her other hand and revealing the pins that sat atop her palm. Jet black metal, each of them sized to fit a lapel. Each of them the symbol of a Black Lotus.
"There is a... brotherhood of individuals here in Japan. The first of its kind; a Fraternity. This group has no leader, nor does it have specific goals. Instead, it exists to support those individuals like us. At one time it had been something different, but it has evolved. The Fraternity of Japanese Villains is an invaluable resource; and a way by which we can find some small measure of commonality. Simply hold the pin over a smartphone and an application will install on it, giving you access to it. This invitation is a gift from me, a show of good faith, and an offer for greater things to come. Please accept it, all of you," Ishtar offered. | TAG WORDS NOTES

She wasn't sure if she was okay. She wasn't sure if today and the outing to come here was not a big mistake. She had managed to put the mask on, obstructing her face from showing the flustered cheeks, her angry eyebrows, everything. She wasn't sure. It was everything and nothing at once and when Antonio came back in the hallway she noticed his eyes on her and thus quickly looked away. It was embarrassing. It was childish, it was everything she did not want to be. If she thought she could be someone new, someone better than she had already failed to prove herself and it stung. She looked at Giovanni shortly but did not want to look at him either and she reluctantly looked up at Sonya for talking and a gift of gratitude? She felt a shiver going down her spine as the word villains was used and she simply looked away again. She had convinced and she had known, it was after all what the chat was for, but she still had a long road to follow.
But being able to join the Fraternity of Japanese Villains might be as Sonya worded it an invaluable resource. If she could present herself literally as one of the most useful informatns, she might get a way in to only gather more. It would be a goal to work on, to get better, to reach a higher course and she was going to do that and she was going to do that as soon as she could. She simply took the pin and looked at it, not sure if she should install now so she let her phone in her purse that was hidden, she would do so later. She did not know what to say and just remained quiet and gave a nod as sh ehad accepted it by taking the pin from Sonya. This will be useful and she would work hard to make it so for herself.

Sonya apologized nd said she meant no disrespect. She wants to show everyone something. As she spoke she revealed some pins from her hand. These pins had a black lotus on them. Sonya went on to explain that there is a brotherhood in Japan. A Fraternity, Giovanni raised his eyebrow. Interesting thing, Sonya said. But Fraternity... isnt that a school thing?
Nevertheless he took a pin and handed it over to Antonio to take care of it and do the phone installing. Giovanni decided he liked the symbol and would make a special commission. A commission to make a ring with that symbol. It seems appropriate. Normal folk wont know what the symbol is. And those 'in the know' will know. Plus he is a Mafia Boss. Giovanni feels he lacks a ring and needs one. That way people loyal to him can kiss the ring and swear loyalty to him. He can be like his father and better! He is getting closer and closer to be a real mafia boss!! A powerful one! And not a renegade!
He looked at Sonya and thanked her for this. Antonio meanwhile looked at Narcissa, making sure she was ok. She didnt say a word after all

Had the show put Giovanni in a poor mood or did he just not like Jun? Whatever the reason for the mobster's curt reply, Jun couldn't ponder it long for they were interrupted by Antonio's return to deliver Sonya's summons. This did not please Giovanni and he let it show with a slap across Antonio's face. 'A possessive sort.' Jun thought to himself, making a note of it for future reference. It was a common enough quality in the underworld. When surrounded by people who wouldn't hesitate to take what you had by force it was generally wise to adopt a no-tolerance policy. Still, any information was useful information.
"Why of course." Jun replied. "Who am I to deny our most gracious host." He rose from his seat and accompanied the two men out into the hall where they were greeted by their benefactor. She divulged the existence of a brotherhood (interesting choice of words), and extended an invitation in the form of an app installing bauble. Throughout it all Jun maintained a pleasant smile. The whole thing was idealistic, downright naive, dangerous and potentially a trap. All in all it was incredibly interesting.
"How wonderful." Jun clapped his hands together, beaming at Sonya, appearing like some schoolgirl in admiration for her senior. "How very, very wonderful. You sure do know how to entertain your guests." The smile slipped and the sinister grin of a devious snake let itself be shown.
Jun held eye contact as he approached to collect his pin, breaking it only to admire its craftsmanship. "What a beautiful piece of incriminating evidence this is." Should any of this be revealed, should the existence of the Fraternity be made known and its symbol brought to light, anyone who had ever bore it openly would be under suspicion and placed under uncomfortable scrutiny by the authorities intent on finding something truly damnable. But what was life without its risks? What fun is a game with no way to lose?
Jun fished his phone out from his purse and placed the metal flower over it to begin the installation. "Welcome to House Delta." He said in playful mockery of the name. All his giddiness from the start of the evening came bursting forth in the form irreverent playfulness. He simply had to give it an outlet. "A brotherhood, a fraternity. Yet two of us are women. How progressive."
Jun wondered just what sort of spyware might tag along with this app, whatever it was. He was tempted to make a joke on that and almost did. But sense got the better of him. Should Sonya be so unwise to attempt to spy on them then the best weapon would be feigned ignorance. Of course it was incredibly unlikely as the consequences for discovery were severe to say the least. But it served to be cautious. For despite their host's lofty speech, they were all sharks swimming together and for sharks, a drop of blood is all it takes, a moment of weakness. Once he got back Jun would secure himself a new phone for his regular use and make sure this one never shared a network with the other.
Jun put back his phone but kept the lotus in his hands, idly fiddling with it as he studied Sonya. Did she truly believe what she said about friendship between villains. Or was it just a sales pitch to gather power for herself. Perhaps it was a mixture of both. Going forward it would be good to know which it was. But ultimately, regardless of what it was, this Fraternity would be a useful tool. If necessary, Jun could play nice, for however long it suited him.

The reactions to her true purpose for gathering this little group were mixed in a way and positive in others. They, of course, offered their own gifts in response. She did not believe for an instant that they were all universally on board with what she was preaching. After all, most villains had their own self-interest at heart in one way or another. Certainly, she could argue that her goals were a bit more on the philosophical and perhaps even philanthropic bent, but even she had her own cravings and desires that she needed satisfied. There was no such thing as purely good intentions. Never would be. She had to believe that with her entire heart. She clenched her fingers around the pin in her hand and reaffixed it to her blouse, wearing it proudly. "I am glad you all joined me here tonight for refreshments and brief entertainment. I promise you all that next time we meet, there will be no surprises like this. The other villains of this city can compete, step on one another, and bleed while we sit in comfort and strength," She said, "I have no illusions about the risk involved with such things, friendship, but I do hope you give it the opportunity it deserves. I have a feeling that it will set us apart in more ways than one..." She added thoughtfully, crossing her arms behind her back and bowing to each of them. "Thank you again... now how about we drown out the singing with some drink and fine dining? Mm?"Fin | TAG WORDS NOTES
