"Orange how interesting? What does that exactly mean?" Do it. She had to speak to the student and sound sincere. How often had she done that as the daughter of the governor? So she could fake it perfectly, she just thought of happy things, she thought of the potential future, she had a maybe way in and she genuinely wanted to know what it meant to have an orange voice. As they walked, she wasn't even sure if she listened, she heard Italian and that was enough to distract her and to activate her quirk. She forgot his right hand, but she eyed Giovanni, she eyed the others. No one would stop her but her own sanity. She could not do that in a space where there were so many others. She had survived the elevator, she would be able to survive this as well!
But her skin changed in a sort of see-through more as she copied the decoration of the walls now on her stomach, her white dress changing. But that didn't entirely go as planned as she felt something around her middle and she looked at it, the wall-like structure of her skin and dress changing back to that, her hands as well as she noticed someone's arm around her and she noticed it was Antonio, the waiter from the other day. She got lifted up a little and dragged off. What? How the hell! Who dared to touch her like that! The man put her down when they rounded the corner and shielded her body and face from everyone passing them. Her visible eyes were angry looking at him. Her lips pouted, he would not be able to see with her silvery mask in front of them. But god she was mad, people should not butt into her life. She knew what she was doing, she wasn't going to do anything stupid. Why else would she come in masked but that girl, that silly girl, that stupid girl and Sonya! What the hell! The Barbados woman was mad and that was clear. "Not worth my time? You don't even know what they did to me." They, in this case, was not the school but Narcissa had no intention to explain it to someone to the likes of him anyway.
She made a high pitched squeaking sound when he took her mask off and she stared at him. W-why did he do that? Why did she not stop him? Her eyes looked at his, questionable, trying to get her question answered. How did he know it was her but she couldn't ask him as he kissed her. Definitely not something she expected to be doing tonight. First, she let it happen, it was probably the surprise, the frustration and everything but she pushed him away and snatched her mask out of his hand and quickly covered her red cheeks with it. She looked away, stuck up her chin as if she was arrogant but technically she was flattered. "Not here and not now. I have an opera to attend." But she looked at him shortly, her big brown eyes definitely and obviously a contrast in the silvery mask and maybe he knew she was smiling and she escaped his arms and the wall against her back and quickly hurried to the box. While she took the door she looked over her shoulder to Antonio for a second. Turning her attention back to the box and the people that took a seat, She noticed Sonya's eyes on it and gave a short nod and went to sit as far as she could on the right of Sonya, taking the last seat on the right in the box.

Shizume Stradivarius
Hibiki the Demon Bard Class 1-B Beatbox Word Count/Total:
Shizume was absolutely delighted to hear honest to goodness Italian. It brought a small tear to both of her eyes she had to wipe away. It had been so long since she had any real connection with home. Even when she talked with her mother on Saturdays, it just made her feel further and further away. Giovanni just became her most favorite person in Japan. “I’m the daughter of House Stradivari in Piana. I think I met you once during a performance at the Fantana. My Mother, Yukino, was first chair for the opera, playing my ancestor’s Duke of Alcantara. She was debuting with that company, the song The Shores of Trapani.”
As they made their way off the lift, Jun introduced herself and asked a few questions. It was to be expected. Normally in social circles like this she had to give off a small performance, so others could settle down. Sometimes they questioned if a quirk could be used peacefully. Sometimes they asked if it was useful for defense. This seemed to draw into the latter curiosity. Looking around the area, she tried to think of something she could use to highlight the point. Spotting a Single flower about a meter away, she looked around and then directed Jun to essentially ‘Watch this.’ After pulling her opera gloves up tight around her hands, she clapped twice in slow succession and on the third clap the rose essentially exploded. Showering petals over the area. “I am able to see all sound as waves of color, but I do feel that bringing it into battle is duller. As for your voice it is a light blue and dropping the pitch delivers a brighter hue. The color of the sound has no direct meaning. It doesn’t really change on how my self is leaning. If I can see your sound, I know that you are somewhere around. It has been used when people were in the lurch, it is one of the best ways to search. Even your heart beats song, so I can find you under rubble before too long.”
Walking into the box she smiled brightly as she looked around. This was high-class seating. Even more opulent than back home. When she touched the backs of the chairs, she felt the plating in the seats and had a small frown appear on her face before she sat down. Steel plates through off the acoustics of the voice. She looked around now and noticed the speaker’s systems. Somewhat her heart sank. While she could still watch and hear an opera, she wouldn’t be able to fully enjoy it. She would get the colors of the speakers, not the music. But she wouldn’t be rude to her hostess. She would enjoy it as much as she could with a big bright smile.

Jun was honestly impressed. A quirk that so thoroughly altered one's perception of the world was a curiosity to say the least. Of course, he had to play it up a bit for the sake of this character he found himself playing. "That's amazing. I can't even imagine what the opera will be like for you then. It must be pretty, all those colors dancing along to the music." The distinction between just visualizing voices as colors and visualizing sounds in general was an important one and Jun made a note of it. Just in case this hero hopeful ever crossed his path on less friendly terms in the future.
But that possibility probably didn't even cross the Italian girl's mind. And why would it? No reason at all to think she was in fact surrounded by wolves engaging in what essentially amounted to playing with their food. Jun hoped he could maintain the facade well after the evening, perhaps even forming a proper bond with the hero-to-be. Such a friend would no doubt be useful and thinking of the crestfallen expression she might don upon discovering her friend's true colors was amusing to say the very least.
Stepping into the booth, Jun adjusted his dress before taking his seat, choosing to sit on Shizume's left. "You're brave to be attending U.A." He began, pausing to order white wine from the waiter. He wasn't of age but he doubted they'd ask for I.D. at this point. Honestly it just sounds awfully dangerous all this hero business. I'm glad there's people like you willing to soldier on for the sake of others. He offered her a warm smile, a smile that said 'you can do it, I believe in you.' A smile that hid the malicious intent behind it.

He chuckled and gave the girl a pat on the head, he was satisfied with that answer. "Piacere" he said, which is like basically a word for 'pleasure to meet you'. Well since he now knows she is daughter from the Stradivari family, it sort of helps him place the girl. He didnt know it was someone he actually sorta knew but not really. And he was glad she didnt know he was an illegal, a villain. He basically gained an italian friend, its nice to speak in italian with someone new. Soon, they all went to their place and take their seat for the opera. But before that actually, Shizume also explained and demonstated her quirk along the way. Giovanni kept in mind to remember her ability. He also realized she rhymes when she speaks japanese. That was... unique Giovanni also listened to Jun who spoke up when they arrived to their seats. He didnt say anything, but he nodded when Jun spoke, as a nonverbal way to show that he heard what Jun said and that he agreed with it.
~Meanwhile~ Antonio had to calm Narcissa, because now was not the time to attack and kill a UA student. She was right, he had no clue what they did to her and he didnt care. It was not his job to care, he had to calm the woman down so she isnt hostile and there is one way he knows how. Flirting! He took of her mask and complimented her, and then he kissed her. She enjoyed the kiss for a second, and then snatched her mask back. Not here, not now. There was an opera needed to be attended, the spainiard smiled. He liked her. Although she just escaped his arms and hurried to the box "Right!" he said and followed her
~Regrouped with others~
Once he got in his seat, his Boss didnt even turn to look at him, and just asked "Voi due avete fatto l'amore?" The spainiard blushed a bit and said "N-no!" Giovanni spoke in italian so the others wouldnt understand him, but alas Shizume did, so she was the only one who knew what Giovanni asked his companion friend. 'Did you two make love?', she was the only one who would understand why the other man blushed and answered the way he did

Sonya leaned back a bit in her chair and tried to relax with the young hero-in-training next to her. To say it wasn't a source of delicious anxiety would be an absolute lie. The fact was, she loathed heroes for her own reasons and the twisted farce of a society they were building. It was why she had sworn to bleeding it dry. That said, there was an exuberant thrill in the proximity. One that dear Jun clearly picked up on much to her pleasure. The others seemed to have mixed feelings though Giovanni was at least more settled and composed than the rest. The masked beauty needed to step away for a moment, something that Sonya took note of. It wasn't much, but every little piece of information was useful to her. "The Tokyo Metropolitan Opera House is the pre-eminent opera house in the nation. Nothing compares to its design both internally and externally," Sonya said, gesturing to the stage below. More people were beginning to gather and the sound of the waiter entering and starting to take quiet orders from her guests did not distract her. "Not only the acoustics some of the best in this hemisphere, the advanced designs they used in some of the materials are groundbreaking. These high backed chairs for example; the fabrics and subcontaneous materials amplify sound, we will feel the performance from here," Sonya enthused. She glanced up in time to see the spaniard and the masked one step back inside. Giovanni made a quip in his native tongue and the spaniard looked flustered. Context would have been enough but Sonya decided not to look too far into it, it wasn't her business and from the sound of it the strings were warming up. It would be time soon. She sat back down and put a hand on Shizume's own, patting it once and giving her the warmest smile her cold, black heart could offer. She turned her attention down to the stage when the lights began to dim. The waiter would have their meals prepared during the intermission. The drinks arrived just in time for the curtain to fall. Sonya took her wine and sipped it once, eyeing the stage. In the dark her glowing pink eyes spun and whirled like haunting disks. The curtain opened and the performance began... She wore a kimono of white, her skin painted alabaster. Her eyes had been laden with lenses to make them glow a shocking blue. She held her arms high, mournfully singing to the crowd. Her words were haunting and indistinct, speaking of the agony betrayal by family. Petals fell around her, white as snow, they crowded the stage as she twirled angrily to the left, and then to the right, her song growing fierce and spiteful. She stopped, dropping to her knees and raising her hands again in plea. Why then, she would ask, was it so wrong for her to do what she had done? | TAG WORDS NOTES | text text text | text text |

There was not much to do. She sat in the corner and looked a the stage where there was already lots of things going on. Her ears were open to listen to the others but she had no need to really mingle. That made it all the worse. She had missed some of the explanation of Shizume her quirk but she wasn't really going to have a conversation with the piece of person that she wanted to strangle. She was simply listening to the others and took a deep breath, pre-eminent opera house. She wasn't sure what to say and looked over her shoulder when she heard Giovanni say something, he was sitting probably on the other side of Sonya and thus with Shizume but the thing was that it was a small place, she could hear him. She could not understand him. But she could understand a bit of Antonio's expression, his no and his blush. She considered leaving but how would that be for the whole thing that she wanted. They knew her online handle, it would be a bad impression to leave and she would screw up all her connections before she even started.
She sat on the front of her chair and simply ordered a drink and would take it before the curtain would move and the opera was about to start. Everyone seemed to have ordered wine, or well most and she took a sip, that was absolutely not as fruity as they said it would be when you are comparing something to something disgusting. She put the glass on her lap and simply went to do something else. Looking at the whole organisation. She loved the kimono, maybe she would buy one for herself for fun.
She looked over her shoulder a little more to see if Antonio was fine, she should not have to think about him. She did not care about him for sure. But if it was her fault. She turned her attention back but there was nothing to say and nothing to do especially not during the opera. She wasn't sure if she liked the music or understood it. She had to take a lot of time not to breath in the way of sighing loudly. This was the worst night but everything to maybe make a partnership. She was not sure what she felt, the kiss was the most fascinating part of the evening.

Shizume Stradivarius
Hibiki the Demon Bard Class 1-B Beatbox Word Count/Total: 352/1478
Shizume sort of blushed when Jun mentioned how brave she was. She scratched her cheek a bit as she looked to the side. “I don’t know if I am all that brave. My skills and power are nothing to rave. My life would not inspire an aria, but I hope to one day be as brave as the Mafia.” Up to this point, she never talked about her life goals. Not even with Kaz. But with another Italian nearby, she sort of felt comfortable letting it slip out. “The Familia in Italy are quite strong. And their power helps everyone get along. So, once I finish with graduation, I will return to Salerno without hesitation. I would like to help them protect the weak and helping keep the culture alive is what I seek.”
When she saw the waiter, she simply asked for a sparkling juice. She knew it was used for some of the fancier cocktails for the adults. As she turned away from her order she overheard the comment from Giovanni to his bodyguard and an almost cat like smile formed on her face. She was a teenage girl. SO of course, romance of this type was of an interest to her. But since it was between adults it had to be spicier and more energetic. They had knowledge and experience those her age did not have. But the way the rough Spaniard blushed was just like boys her age when poked by their parents about holding hands. If she had cat ears and a tail, her thoughts would be way too obvious.
With her hand patted by the hostess, she held her juice nearby and moved a bit forward in her seat. There. She saw it. As the strings were the signal at the start of the performance, she removed the earbuds under her hair and turned off her phone. As the seconds dragged for a bit, she started to look a little pale, her hands holding the sparkling grape juice shaking slightly until the music had started. Almost instantly the color returned to her and the shaking stopped.

Sonya spoke how the Tokyo Metropolitan opera house is great and how nothing compares to its design both internally and externally. Giovanni had to disagree "I have to disagree. Nothing compares to La Scala. It is for a reason the most famous opera house in the world" Giovanni said to Sonya, it was his italian pride. Tokyo while impressive, was not known for opera. Technology and anime, yes. But opera? No way.
He then kept at eye on the stage and everything below. When he saw Antonio and that woman, he had to ask did he makeout with her, because well... his assistant was... lewd to say the least. A womanizer. Once he dealt with Antonio, he focused on the soon to be performance.
Meanwhile Antonio who was sitting near his Boss noticed Narcissa look at him. It was one of those moments when you can feel you are being watched. When their eyes locked, he just gave her a polite smile and looked away.
Back to Giovanni he heard what Shizume said. She wanted to be as brave as the Mafia? He was proud that the whole propaganda thing worked and he had quite an ego now on him. He opened his mouth to speak, but Antonio who sensed a fuck up, discreetly kicked his Boss in the foot "Zitto" he whispered. Giovanni got the message and nodded.
Giovanni looked at Shizume who removed her earbuds and observed her lose colour and get pale, but when the music started she regained her colour. Interesting.
But the show was starting, so without further ado. The two mafiosi observed the opera that just started.

Jun was disappointed at the idea of his potential hero 'playmate' leaving the country. He'd hoped for a contact within the hero scene in the future. Disappointed, but not crushed. Shizume wouldn't leave immediately and until then he might still utilize her and get to know other hero hopefuls. The more the merrier. Worst case scenario there was still the hiker hero he'd met a few days ago. Now that he thought of it, Jun really wanted to repay Sonya the favor. Perhaps after this evening was over he could try to think of some way for those two to get acquainted.
"That sounds wonderful. But I thought the mafia were like scary criminals instead of protectors." Jun was in fact certain that was the case and he was curious to know how Shizume came to perceive them any other way. But the show was about to begin.
Given Sonya's description of the opera house's design and its acoustics, they were in for a treat. But then that was a given. Curiously, before the show started properly, Shizume began shaking, the color drained from her face. Jun spotted the earbud in her hand. Then, as the music began, the girl calmed and color returned to her. For a few moments Jun ignored the performance, focused entirely on the girl next to him, studying her, certain he'd just been given the hint to something delightfully fun in the future.
But it would be rude to disregard the opera and so Jun turned his head and gave it his full, undivided attention. This being his first, he had no frame of reference, nothing to compare it to. But he liked it and resolved to spend more nights this way in the future.

Sonya would have had something snappy to say when Giovanni spoke up, but the opera had already begun. She crossed her legs, patting the girls hand one more time. She was so small, delicate, and little did she know that Sonya's lethal skin had just brushed against her own. It was a magnificent feeling, having the life of a prospective hero in the palm of her hand. A chill that ran up and down her spine, a delicious almost maddening sense of superiority and power. She savored every second while the music rose to its first crescendo. The story was beginning and Sonya was not one to be distracted. Pink eyes took in the scene; She dipped her head in silent grief before rising, the petals swirling about the stage, and in a blink, she was gone. The petals pulled away of their own accord and vanished. The lights dimmed and brightened, revealing an ornate hallway. The woman looked healthier, younger. She walked alongside a young man. Their song was happy, restful even, like the sound of coming home. Her posture was always toward him. A man approached as their song ended and he dropped to a knee, holding a katana up to the young man. The young man hesitated and turned to her. She cupped his face and stepped back from him, giving him room to take up the blade; the lights dimmed again. Sonya rubbed her chin, fascinating how they'd begun to use more modern technologies and techniques in these stories. The petals were a good touch. She wondered if there was a way to apply that in a more practical way. She remained as a waiter very swiftly placed meals before them, refilling glasses as necessary. Sonya's meal was small, a bloody steak that clashed with her almost all-white aesthetic. | TAG WORDS NOTES

She wasn't sure if she was simply bored because it wasn't that the opera wasn't nicely done it was just at the moment not her liking. The girl on the other side annoyed the crap out of her and she wanted to still strangle her. The fact that she was busted even with the mask on made her wonder a few things. Did Sonya not recognize her because than the mask still worked but maybe she should ask the hostess about the whole situation and what did that mean for her company and all that? What was her plan and why was she here and in that villain chat? Was she a trap? A spy? Would she be arrested? Was there police down there? No, that did not make sense, so much did not add up in that case. She narrowed her eyes at the display of the couple on the stage. It felt wrong in her eyes and she finally got up, putting the glass of wine on the table in front of her she took the steps, moving her hips to the chair between her and Jun and tapped Sonya on her shoulder. If she wanted answers, Narcissa would have to take the story into her own hands. She leaned to her so she could whisper that she would like to speak with Sonya in private and it couldn't wait.
She would stand up again and linger at the door to see if the silver-haired, pretty, woman would come with her. When Sonya did, she would stand in the hallway that was empty and she would take this risk and took the jawline from her mask and removed it. Looking at the woman who had been the hostess of the party she accidentally entered. "It's good to see you again." She said as she had agreed with Sonya's way of thinking at that time. She wasn't sure what more to say at this moment, she had told a few things privately about herself and she felt exposed and taking quite a risk but so had Sonya been doing right, that meant this would be an equal pay and that the two of them would be saved when looking at the other. "I had so many questions and it couldn't wait. I remember what we spoke about a few days ago or so it seems." maybe it was already long ago? she didn't know for sure. "But if we are on the same side so to say, that makes it a lot easier." Her eyes were big, still a bit afraid in this whole new situation. If she thought her hero life was so easily betrayed, how would it be if you were on the wrong side of the line of good and evil, or well that's the opinion of the world not her own.

Giovanni didnt comment when he heard Jun, instead he just slyly smiled. And he focused on the performance and soon canceled out any other sound. Narcissa stood up and Giovanni really didnt notice her as he was watching the opera. Antonio on the other hand only had his eyes on Narcissa, he tried to be discreet about it and pretended that he watched the opera. But the masked lady was muuuch more interesting and pleasing to the eye. That kiss was nice and he wouldnt mind if he did that again. But would Narcissa allow that? HMmmmm. The spainiard knew his duties were guarding his boss, but what if he... escorted Narcissa instead? She's a lady that needs protecting. He was sure his Boss wouldnt mind that. Right? Right! He looked at Giovanni who just watched the opera performance and already mentally told everyone to fuck off. Antonio meanwhile paid attention everything but the opera, ironically. He'd maybe get a glance of the opera performance, but otherwise he just kept his eyes on everyone. Sonya, Shizume and Narcissa. Mostly Narcissa. Not so much to Jun for some reason. As soon as he noticed that Giovanni went to check on him, the spainiard turned to the opera to pretend as if he was watching it

Sonya watched the proceedings, savoring every sound, reveling in the drama even as she reveled in the situation she had conspired to create here in the confines of the viewing box. Her legs crossed, her glowing eyes unmoving, her hands in her lap. She was surrounded by peers; guards were at the ready, she felt...powerful here. Yet the tension in the air just wasn't enough; she needed something more to add another level of flavor to the evening. To truly satiate her hunger, to temper the craving, to ease the need. Then she heard a gentle voice behind her; Daffodil whispering into her ear. Her eyes fell shut as the woman invited her into the back, she would have been pleased if it were a more... intimate invitation. But the urgency spoke of something more serious. She got to her feet and with a gentle smile to her neighbors along with a squeeze to Shizume's hand she made her way out, lingering as the singing reached another cresendo.
Out in the hallway, devoid of people, she found Daffodil, no, Narcissa. Oho. She'd had a feeling it was the same person and in fact she had counted on it when she had extended the invitation. Yet a small part of her doubted the link. She was glad to have been proved right. She broke into a wide smile, opening her arms and reaching out to the woman; only to stop. Her mouth falling shut as Narcissa continued speaking. Her eyes focused and refocused. Her smile became... odd. Sonya canted her head to the right; her hands slipping behind her back, grasping her own wrists. The temperature in the space around them dropped a few degrees as the invisible mask, at last, came off. Artificial eyes flicked here and there before going steady, still, umoving. Her entire body fell still. Silence stretching out for several heartbeats as Narcissa confessed to her; because that's what it was. A confession, an admission, a coming out.
Ishtar smiled.
It wasn't a kind smile, not in the traditional sense. It was cold in a way that a killer could never manage. It was the kind of coldness you felt from a parent who looked right through you, or an animal looking at nothing but prey, a chilling stare that cut through the heart and stabbed into the spirit. She bore her teeth when the smile grew. She could have left it there, let the implication of her very presence speak enough. Instead, her hand snapped out like the strike of a viper, taking Narcissa's hand and bringing it up to her lips; planting a single, soft kiss on her knuckle. Her eyes lingered on the back of Narcissa's hand before flicking up to look in the woman's eyes. A smile, warmer this time, curled on her face and she let out a breath.
"You needn't be so frightened, dearie," Ishtar said, "I mean you no harm at all."
She paused, though, and looked the woman in the eye. "Ask your questions, sate your curiosity, now's your chance. But remember that once you do, your world will never be the same. You'll be crossing the line. Are you ready for that?" | TAG WORDS NOTES

So far this evening had been downright divine. The addition of a sheep for the wolves to play with had given it a particularly delectable flavor that Jun would remember long after it was over. But he wondered if perhaps he was getting overly distracted by the half Italian fluffball. Originally he'd come here to not only his first taste of high art but for networking. If he was to rise to the position he desired, contacts would have to be made. Friends even, though his definition of the term certainly differed from the norm.
But instead Jun had found himself entirely focused on the sheep and not the pack. A part of him wondered if perhaps he was missing an opportunity. Perhaps his time would be better spent getting to know his fellows, if they could be called such. At the very least getting acquainted with their gracious host. Surely invitations such as these didn't fall from trees.
A single look at the delicious morsel next to him was all it took to assuage his worries. The hero hopeful represented the true opportunity after all. Jun's chosen career would naturally bring him in contact with others of his ilk. Whereas any line into the world of heroes was a treasure to be coveted.
During the break, Jun continued his conversation with the blue haired girl, maintaining his facade as the cheery innocent. "I hope things go well for you when you leave for Italy. Though I do wish you'd stay here. Things are getting scary and I'd feel a lot safer knowing there's one more hero doing the good work." It wasn't entirely a lie. It was true heroes served as obstacles to villains. But that was just part of the game. A game needs an opposing side for how else can it be won without someone to triumph over?
"But that's a good while away for now isn't it? Until then I'd love to meet again and hear all about what U.A. is like." And thus Jun took his first step to securing that most treasured of lines.

She could not wait, she was maybe making a big mistake but she had made Sonya the Moon card. That meant that she would be guided by her light and that was well particularly everywhere. Maybe it was her quirk, the Barbadian woman did not want to ask but there was a lot to wonder about. So this was it, she had stood up, Opera's were interesting don't get her wrong but not now. There was enough at stake, there was enough to do and the one starter of this whole issue was sitting only so far away from her. She noticed the smile that Sonya had on her face, the look that might say: I am going to hug you. But she had to stop that, this was a game. This was not something just friendly and nice. No, her life was at stake, she was new here and she had a lot to learn. Which was why there was no smile at her own face, she was bloody serious about this whole thing and she hoped that Sonya understood her own situation. She had explained her own job only at the party that Sonya hosted. But did she understand why her identity needed to be kept a secret? It was already falling apart, the fact that she was recognized and there had not been a direct surprise on Sonya's face meant that she was making a mistake.
The smile might freak out any other person but she started to see the meaning behind it slightly too. Not that she would be able to put it into words but it was a satisfied smile, not one of pure happiness as people always thought they were smiling for. Nope, this one should give you the shivers going down your spine.
Ha, if only she would understand. She wasn't sure if it was pure fear that Narcissa felt. But the no harm, she had heard that before with the utter bullshit, her body was simply tense. Sonya's next words were a very good and yet indirect reason for that. She was now really crossing that line, there was no way back, but she did not want the way back. The way back was bloody and painful and that would be the way forward be too. But she would also be different. She would fight for this path, "I am." Maybe she was tense and slightly afraid but her voice was steady. "I don't know any plans, I have been working on setting up myself, but I would maybe be of use eventually." She did not need to hide that to Sonya anyway, she knew already that she was new to Japan, it would be a matter of how fast would she learn.
