James had woken up earlier than usual today and that was for a very good reason, today was his sisters 13th birthday! He was currently in the kitchen cooking some breakfast, nothing special just some bacon, eggs and cheese on toast for him and some waffles for Kotomi. He'd plate up Kotomi's waffles first, adding some whipped cream, strawberries and chocolate sauce. He looked at the time and realized it was about time for Kotomi to be getting up "Kotomi, time to get up, come get your breakfast!" he'd call out as he'd place her plate on the table before going back to plate his bacon, eggs and cheese toast. As he placed his plate on the table he looked up to see Kotomi shuffling out of the bedroom, still half asleep "Good morning nii-chan," she'd say with a yawn, rubbing her eyes as she walked over to him "Well good morning sleepyhead," he'd say with a chuckle as he'd walk over to her and pull her into a hug "Happy 13th birthday Kotomi, you ready for the day we got planned ahead?" He'd ask as they'd take a seat at the table. At the mention of the day ahead of them Kotomi seemed to perk up pretty quickly "Yeah, I can't wait to get to the zoo and see all the animals!" she'd say excitedly as she started eating her waffles "So you're sure you're okay with me inviting my girlfriend? It's your day after all, I don't wanna feel like I'm making you do this or anything," he'd say with her quickly shaking her head in response "No I don't mind! I've actually been a little curious about her since you've told me, so while I'm a little nervous about it, I'm also a little excited as well," Kotomi would say with a bit of a shy smile "Don't worry Haruuhi's really nice, I'm sure you two are going to get along great," he'd say with a smile "So, how are your waffles?""They taste so good!" she'd say as she'd continue eating them happily making James chuckle slightly. They'd then finish eating their breakfast and James would keep an eye on the time
"We better start getting ready soon, Haruuhi will be here in about 45 minutes, go jump in the shower, I'll clean up here," he'd say picking up their plates and putting them in the sink before cleaning them real quick. Once Kotomi was done in the shower and dressed James would jump in and have his shower before getting out and getting ready. As he was finishing getting ready his eyes drifted over to his dresser and a realization sunk in Shit the present! he thought to himself as he'd open the drawer and grab the bag the present was in and walk out to Kotomi "Hey Kotomi, I've got a little somethin for ya!" he'd say as he'd pull out the box the necklace was sitting in "Happy Birthday....again!," he'd say with a chuckle as he'd give her the box. Once she'd open it she'd see the punk bunny pendant necklace and smile wide "A bunny necklace! Thanks so much nii-chan I love it!" She'd say as she'd excitedly hug him before putting the necklace on "So, how does it look?" she'd ask "Fits you perfectly!" he'd say with a thumbs up and a smile on his face. After the giving of the gift he'd check his phone and see that it was close to the time Haruuhi was meeting them
"Haruuhi should be here any minute now, you can watch some TV while we wait if you want," he'd say before surfing the web on his phone while waiting for Haruuhi |

A little sisters birthday party hunh? It sounded like a lot of fun, but Haruuhi had never been to a birthday party before... let alone her boyfriends little sister... Safe to say she was nervous as hell. She had tried on every outfit she owned to try and find that perfect mix... tried on hats and jewelry makeup, you name it. Eventually the girl chose to hop in the shower, wash it all off and start all over again.
"I can't go too over the top, because I don't want to outshine his sister... but at the same time I want to make sure I look good... hnnnng I wish I could ask mom..."
She grumbled about as she finally picked out one of her new favorite pink t-shirts. She decided to put on a nice pair of jeans then found the necklace that James had given her and placed it around her neck. The dark gem would be hidden behind her shirt, but you could tell which necklace it was by it's chain. She then found herself a nice hat, fixed her hair then plopped it on. With a deep breath she scrutinized herself heavily in the mirror.
"I guess this is... decent... oh god..."
She continued to worry... she didn't even give Robodog a pat when she left the house, too focused on her destination to worry about it.
When she took the bus to the apartment however, she had started to calm down a little bit. This was going to be no different that meeting the first years. She sucked in a deep breath as she walked up to the entrance and rang the bell for james' place. When he answered, she would speak up.
"Hey James, it's Haruuhi~"
She said kindly, waiting to be allowed in before stepping inside. Once finally at the apartment, Haruuhi would take her shoes off by the door and step inside, a brightly colored pink bag in her hands with a birthday present for James' little sister.
"Thanks for inviting me over again"

As James was checking his phone and Kotomi was watching TV he heard the bell for the door ring, he answered and heard Haruuhi's voice call out, he'd open the door and see his girlfriend standing there
"Hey thanks for coming, glad you could make it, you look good, as always," he said with a smile as he'd lean in and give her a quick peck on the cheek "Come on in, we'll chill here for a bit and then we're heading off to the zoo," he'd explain to Haruuhi "Kotomi come meet Haruuhi," he'd say to his sister who would get off of the couch and join the two of them, suddenly overcome with nerves she'd look down and fiddle with her hands
"Nice to meet you, thanks for coming to celebrate my birthday with us," she'd say lifting her head to look up at Haruuhi for the introduction before quickly looking back down James would chuckle a bit
"She's a little shy around people she's just met but she'll open up to you as the day goes on, and once she does the trouble becomes keeping her quiet," he'd say with a chuckle while ruffling Kotomi's hair a bit
"Jeez Nii-chan do you have to keep ruffling my hair like that," she'd say with a pout as she fixed her hair while James just chuckled
"She even told me earlier that she was kinda excited to meet you, I guess she was curious as to what kind of girl has me so captivated," he'd say with a small smirk to which Kotomi would start blushing
"W-wait Nii-chan don't tell her that, it's embarassing," she'd say using her hands to cover her blushing face which would cause James to start chuckling again

Did he have to kiss her in front of his sister? Even if it was just on the cheek Haruuhi was already starting to blush. She offered him a bit of a smile and a light nudge as she then stepped inside with him.
"I wouldn't miss it~ and the zoo hunh? That sounds pretty fun"
She noted cheerily, unaware that they would actually be going anywhere. Had James told her they were going to the zoo before? She really couldn't remember and felt a bit guilty... she might have done a few things differently if she knew that... she wasn't sure what, but something. That's whenever Kotomi popped up and Haruuhi had to fight with herself not to just shy away behind James. She was just another girl only 3 ish years younger than them. Instead she put on her best smile as she looked at her.
"It's nice to meet you too Kotomi-chan. I wouldn't miss it for the world, thank you for letting me come so suddenly."
She stated as she glanced over to James who was treating her like she was just a little kid. He'd ruffle her hair and speak for her, and then Kotomi retaliated with a pout. yeah, he was treating her the same way she treated Haruuhi.
"He's a real pain in the butt isn't he. Maybe we should go to the zoo together and leave James here."
She teased James, plowing through her own embarrassment and trying not to let it show. When the two were alone, he was going to pay for it.

"Yeah I meant to let you know but things got so hectic I kinda forgot," he'd say rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish smile.
After Kotomi introduced herself Haruuhi would return the favour and introduce herself back, upon hearing the introduction Kotomi would look back up at her and give a smile She seems nice, she's really pretty as well, I can see why Nii-chan likes her Kotomi thought to herself. James would see this and smile at how Kotomi was already loosening up a bit Haruuhi seems to be making a good first impression on her he'd think to himself. After James' little teasing session of Kotomi, Haruuhi would avenge Kotomi and start teasing James calling him a pain in the butt and suggesting the two girls go to the zoo together and leave James alone, in response James would display mock horror "You wouldn't!" he'd say with a hint of a smirk. Kotomi would pretend to think about it
"I don't know Nii-chan, it sounds like a good idea to me," she'd say with a devious smirk "What do you think Haruuhi-san, should we leave him here or should we cut him some slack and let him come along?" she'd say turning to Haruuhi
"You obviously want me to come along with you lovely ladies right?" he'd say attempting to woo them with puppy dog eyes and compliments "Because you both love me right?" he'd continue batting his puppy dog eyes at them, Kotomi would try to contain a smile and turn to Haruuhi
"Hmmm, tough choice, I might be willing to forgive you though if you treat the two of us to ice cream at the zoo," she'd say with a cheeky smile on her face
"Hmmm, you drive a hard bargain, but I accept!" he'd say with a chuckle "What do you say Haruuhi, fancy some ice cream at the zoo later today?" he'd ask his girlfriend with a smile

Haruuhi couldn't help but chuckle as Kotomi went on with her teasing of James, suggesting that the two of them really should just take off on their owns. She smiled though as James really didn't look like he believed a work they said anyways.
"I think we should. My dad did say I should make more friends, so maybe Kotomi-chan and I need the time to hang out."
She continued teasing, though when he suggested that they both loved him she couldn't help but laugh and reach over to take his hand in hers. She couldn't say love, at least not yet... she really didn't know what the term fully meant yet, so didn't know how it should feel... but she did like him, so of course she wasn't going to leave him out of his own date idea.
"Well... I guess if there is ice cream involved, I can suffer through a trip to the zoo"
She continued to tease before leaning in to kiss his cheek gently, then reach up to mess his hair with a devious smirk on her face.
"Oh but I almost forgot! This is for you Kotomi-chan, Happy Birthday"
She stated as she retrieved the small birthday present from her pocket and handed it over to the young girl to open before they all left. It was a weaved bracelet with various pink and purple beads in the design. There were also fake diamond rabbits that looked like they were hopping on the different strands skewed about. It was meant to match the gift that James had gotten her.

James couldn't help but join in with Haruuhi and Kotomi chuckling at their teasing of him with Haruuhi then saying that her did say she should make friends and that maybe they should ditch him, though he was able to bring them around to his side with his agreement to the ice-cream, he even got a cheek kiss and a hair ruffle. Upon seeing this cheek kiss and hair ruffle, Kotomi would look away not knowing how to react, she'd never had to share her brothers affections before after all. However upon hearing Haruuhi say her name she would turn around to see her holding a present out for Kotomi to take
"For me?" she asked confused for a second, she hadn't expected a gift from Haruuhi, though so she didn't act rude she took the present and unwrapped it, her eyes widened when she saw the woven bracelet. She got so excited she quickly put it on with little squeals of excitement and looked at it with awe, she turned to face Haruuhi with a big smile on her face
"Thank you Haruuhi-san, I love it!" she said with a big smile on her face. James would look on with his own smile before quickly checking the time and realizing they needed to hurry
"Alright guys, come on we better start moving or we're gonna miss the bus," he'd say before leading the girls out of the apartment, locking the door and heading to the bus stop. James take Haruuhi's hand as they walked with Kotomi leading them, still admiring her new bracelet
"She's really loving that bracelet," he'd say with a small chuckle "You've made a good impression on her, I don't remember the last time she was this open with someone so quickly," he'd continue as he watched Kotomi happily humming to herself with small bounces while she walked "And thanks again for coming, it really does mean a lot, to both of us," he'd tell her with a smile and a quick kiss on her cheek. They ended up arriving at the bus stop just as it arrived and they quickly hopped on, there wasn't many seats left so James gave the girls seats and decided to stand
"So, when we get to the zoo what animals do you guys wanna see first?" he asked before Kotomi quickly piped up
"Oh, I wanna see the pandas!" she'd say excitedly before turning to Haruuhi "What do you wanna see the most Haruuhi-san?"

Haruuhi smiled brightly as the girl seemed totally taken back by the fact that Haruuhi had bothered to get her a present. Honestly it was only because of the necklace James picked out that she was able to pick out something just as cute! She would of probably gotten her something that she liked, more than something that Kotomi liked.
"You're welcome Kotomi-chan, I'm glad you like it"
She responded kindly, visibly letting a breath out as if she had been holding it in that entire time. That was nerve racking... she hadn't given a gift to anyone but her family so far! And they didn't have a choice but to like what she got them.
Whenever James took her hand in his own, she would squeeze it tightly as if she suddenly had a lifeline, a way to express the anxiousness she had felt when meeting Kotome and acting like the confident girlfriend she should be. It was hard though! She just wanted to crawl under a rock and hide! Though James voice immediately calmed her down as he started to reassure her that Kotome really did seem to like her. She let out a light sigh, her grip on his hand letting up slightly as they made their way onto the bus.
"Honestly this is nerve racking... i'm glad it's working though, she's really cute"
Haruuhi whispered back to him so that Kotome wouldn't hear her. Not that she would, having been so focused on her new bracelet that whole time. It did make her chuckle a little bit as she looked at her, and she couldn't help but feel a little bit jealous of James for having a younger sibling like her...
Her thoughts were broken however as James then asked them which animals they wanted to see... Haruuhi had to actually think about that one, bringing a hand up to her chin in thought as she sat down. Seemed Kotome wanted to see the pandas, and while they were adorable Haruuhi had wanted to see an animal she could reference in her next AI build.
"Pandas are pretty cute. Maybe we can start with them then make our way to the Aviary? I wanted to reference a few of the birds for a school project."
She admitted with a bit of a smile. She was sure robodog would appreciate a mechanical friend.
