Clack clack clack clack!
Each metal plated step she took drew another glance. A cacophony of white hair cast up behind her like a flowing curtain of the purest silver. Her pale skin glowed with an inner disquiet that warned others from approaching too close. She would tolerate no interruptions, no questions, no stops. The multi-layered lenses of her artificial eyes spun in sequence, refocusing as the light of the room changed to optimize her available field of view. She stopped at a threshold, the door already ajar. Eyes shifted in her direction-wondering. Sonya placed a hand against the rim of the doorframe, taking a steadying breath. It had been the first time she had rushed in a long time.
”Let me see it,”
It was a thing of beauty. The prototype that the small crew had completed. Small and sleek with a delta-like shape. The longer end rested on the top of the arm while it tapered off to cuff the wrist. She slid it on over a pale dainty hand, twisting her arm and admiring how it fit snug against her flesh. Sonya glanced at the team members who had spent weeks working on it. She took a moment to regard the room that they’d been forced to work in. They’d accomplished so much in such meagerness. They’d been cast away for one crime, a small fine, a flaw of moral character. Sonya smiled at them and ran her finger along the shiny white surface, a low sound acknowledging the activation of the device. A screen appeared on its surface.
”Magnificent.”
She took it off and put it back on the table. Her employees shook hands with one another, laughing and clapping shoulders. She crossed her arms behind her back; regarding each and every one of them in turn. There was no doubt in her mind that this first item would be the beginning of their break into the various industries she intended to dominate. She had other avenues she wanted to pursue as well. She was not a hyper focused fool like those American businessmen. No. She would cast her net wide and fleece this new hero society for everything it had. There was just one problem. She needed connections.
With a gentle promise to return to them at a later date to see their progress on the product she examined her schedule. She had a date at the Shinagawa Terminal soon for the festivities there. There was a hope she would be able to acquire the technology to reverse engineer to jumpstart her other programs-but it was a vain hope. She needed other avenues to reach people in power, to impress them. Wealth stoked jealousy, and jealousy was self-propagating once it began. It would not be long before she had enemies and the best way to curb ones enemies was to befriend them ahead of time or have the power to destroy them politically.
It was time for a party.
Sonya called up one of her handlers at the university. The male professors who often escorted her around Tokyo and pretended to manage her when she was out performing and began to make arrangements. It was one thing for an up and coming entrepreneur like herself to be hosting a party. People would suspect her of calling for investment. She didn’t want charity. If, however, a beautiful and well desired musician who had already performed at the Gardens and was slated to appear in Shinagawa happened to hold a get together of at the very least well off people? Well. That was far more enticing.
So she found herself standing at the end of a banquet table within just twenty-four hours. A glass of champagne in her hand and her quirk carefully drawn in with a not so small initial effort of concentration. She was, for all intents and purposes, one of the most desirable performers in the musical circuit at the moment. Small, delicate, pale, with a love of clean almost sterile clothing. Her artificial eyes made her look dangerous and mysterious, which only added to her charm. Her picture on a poster was all it took for some to clamor for her performances. Now, it was the lecherous eyes of men that cast upon her.
Sonya sipped at her champagne while a member of the University’s board spoke to her about pointless niceties. He wasn’t especially important but he was at least worth dealing with. She smiled and nodded and pretended to listen even while her handlers who had insinuated themselves as waiters mingled among the small crowd, trays in hand. The room itself was one of the gathering halls at the university. The caterer had been kind enough to comply after some encouragement and the décor was actually of Sonya’s on design, crafted by employees hiding out in the warehouse that served as the headquarters of her company.
“Lady Chernova?” A voice from her left. She glanced in that direction, not moving her head. White hair tumbled down her shoulder from the barely perceptible shift. One of her handlers.
”What?” Sonya demanded, irritated to have her encounter with the chair member interrupted. She gave the man a pleasant smile and shook his hand in apology before turning to face the idiot. The waiter inclined his head and swallowed, visibly paling. ”Speak.” She hissed, her pink eyes spinning a bit more quickly-taking in details before an attack.
He swallowed again; “There are too many guests. I’ve counted heads five times but it always comes up with one more than was rsvped. But everyones moving too quickly for me to check them all off,” He said. She snorted… pathetic. How the hell was she supposed to get anywhere with this nonsense? She resisted the urge to rub her eyes and instead gestured to the crowd;
”Get back to work. I’ll deal with this,” Sonya said, glancing about. There had to be some evidence at to who had snuck into the party. She supposed she would just have to speak with everyone. Or let her hidden guest show themselves.

Yesterday she got lost in the gym, which was maybe embarrassing if you thought about it but that's not how Narcissa at the end of the day had seen her session. Today had not been a much better day at her so-called work. She still considered it some stupid form of detention and so on but well, she would manage to survive, she simply smiled and was happy that everything seemed to be going fine. It was ridiculous how things were handled and Narcissa was done with being in Japan for already quite a while. That wasn't going to change anything but it would mean that she would have to get a better hold on her emotions, on her mask, on basically everything. The Princess had a party tonight but the description of those old farts back in the office had been so strange and confusing that she had no idea where to go when she asked the taxi to bring her to the building, that was her luck that he knew what she meant. But there were so many rooms and separate buildings at where she should be that it was impossible to even know if she got the right location. She was dressed until the nines and she was sure she would make a rather good impression compared to some of the people in the office. Without a doubt Narcissa found herself the most beautiful of the women in the government section, the most beautiful of the other permanent representatives and she would sure to send an ugly one as soon as she got Barbados back in her hands. It was her birthright, she was born for it but no, she made a mistake. SHE HAD NOT. Okay calm down. She took a deep breath of the evening air, which was maybe not that clean but it managed to calm her down as the air was quite cold, especially compared to what she was used to and she managed to find the party. Or so she thought. The atmosphere was not what she expected and the dark skinned beauty walked around the perimeters trying to find someone that at least looked familiar and she could ask for the others. But no one seemed familiar at all, you got to be kidding her. Was she lost again? The wrong room again? Her dark skin, her hazel brown hair that she had styled and curled a little bit, her creme coloured dress that was in such a stark contrast with her skin that it made beautiful again and the grey coat over her shoulders made her a simple model looking, or well again that's what she thought. But there were beautiful people here and it annoyed her, this were clearly not the stupid people from the office for sure. Maybe she should stay here, mingle, get the hell out of here again. You could never talk about your hobbies if people did not think the same, that was a shame for sure. Outfit

The hostess of the event strode her way through the gathered well to do. Her eyes flicking from face to face. Glowing eyes parsing out details in an instant before moving on to the next with a smile and the shake of hands. She kept her pace steady, not showing any signs of rush. Every now and then she spotted movement from someone she didn't quite recognize. A cream dress here, a splash of dark skin, was that a brunette? Sonya's smile curled a bit as the unofficial chase continued. Was her prey aware of her pursuit? Or was this all a long series of coincidences? Either way, her target stayed out of sight.
Another pair of wealthy persons stepped between her and her quarry just as she got the clearest look so far. Sonya clicked her tongue. That figure. Someone was playing games with her. She glanced toward the first of the newcomers who extended their hand with a pleasant smile.
"Lady Chernova! Thank you so much for the invitation. I understand you'll be doing a demonstration today?" He asked, not paying any attention to her apparent desire to move past him with some small haste. She resisted the urge to grimace and took his hand in her own, shaking it once while controlling her quirk so as to not rot his arm off from the shoulder. The look in her eyes spoke volumes though 'You're in my way'.
"Representative! It's so good of you to make it! I do indeed have a few surprises planned for the evening, if you'll indulge me. I'm currently in hot pursuit of one of them," She said, trying to sound amused. He must have taken the bait because he gave a charming laugh and stepped away, nodding to her. She place a hand on his arm and gave him a heavy lidded smile; "Thank you my friend," She appeased him, walking past to track down her prey.
Now... where are you-ah!
There. Just past the waiter dispensing champagne.
Sonya made a beeline, stepping past the next person to intercept her with a barely concealed glare of annoyance. Her eyes flicked back to her target and to her relief, she was still there. Beautiful.
"Pardon me... have we met?" Sonya asked, raising the question as delicately as possible. | 398 WORDS NOTES

She was already getting to the conclusion that this was not the party they mentioned. Did that mean she had been given the wrong address or were there potential more parties within this building, she did not get it? Why would you do that and confuse only newcomers to Tokyo or hell even to Japan, what a bullshit. Narcissa looked around and just got offered a drink from one of the waiters that was walking around and she looked in the flute glass and wondered if it was something like champagne. She literally never had the official champagne, that wasn't something common in Barbados, they would celebrate with cocktails. She stared a little longer at the glass than was maybe sane and she looked around and took a few steps more. Mingling sound like such a bad idea, people seemed to whisper and because she felt like she was the stark contrasting person here, she wouldn't be surprised if it was about her. She simply looked at people from the corner of her eyes and walked on, what else would you say. She thought about finishing this drink because it intrigued her before going out and trying to ask one of the porters where the party for the ministry was.
Yes, yes that sounded like a plan and she wouldn't have to deal with these sleeky people that whispered about her. At least try to talk up, right? When they wanted something to say. Ugh, people.
She had not just finished thought that people should talk. When she heard someone speak up, quite close to her and right in front so the exotic woman looked up. Contrast hm, that was quite obvious with this woman, pale and silvery hair. She looked around to make sure this was a conversation to her and she gave her a polite smile back, "No I don't think so." Narcissa said trying to sound as delicate as the woman had done so. Readjust your mask, she told herself. She wasn't wearing one it was her mental one, be the polite, sweet representative of Barbados and be that lost woman who only arrived here about a month and a half ago. Her Japanese would not be good but she would try none the less to be able to speak and let herself be heard, alright. She could do that.
Because Cissa had no idea that this woman was the hostess, she did not feel the need to inform her that she was actually lost, so she simply took a sip of the champagne, ew... bubbles.

Well that was blunt, if a bit disappointing. She'd hoped for maybe a little bit of a white lie. Most of the people here she knew in one way or another, she'd met or she had spoken to over the phone with. Now here this woman was, just waltzing in and pretending like she belonged up until someone confronted her. Then she crumpled like a house of cards. It was... curious. Why had she even bothered to maintain any sort of cover and not just willfully marched through? Sonya's eyelids fell just a little and a wry smile began to tease at the corner of her mouth.
"Well that is a shame..." She said, glancing down into her glass and taking a sip. She let the words hang for a moment, teasing the idea that she would call for security, or that she knew more than she was letting on. Instead, she flicked her glowing pink eyes back up from her cup, the multi-layered lenses swirling in her head, and smiled. "I don't usually miss the arrival of someone so beautiful," She said dryly. The woman's mastery over the language left a little bit to be desired but that was okay, it was endearing. Sonya turned to one of the waiters and snapped her fingers.
"You! I thought I said that if I had any guests they were to be given guest bands. Find that idiot watching the door and get a band for my friend here. Now." She hissed. Her glass seeming to fog a bit with an odd chill that gave off a whitish glow.
The man turned and rushed off, eyes wide while Sonya turned her attention on her guest.
"I'm so sorry about you having to see that," She cleared her throat and extended a hand, "Sonya Chernova, I am the host of this event. You are?" | 330 WORDS NOTES

She had no idea who this woman was, asking if they had met before, she was sure to say that within this room she had not met anyone yet and her intention was to leave as soon as she finished the champagne because it was a weird thing that she had not really tried before. Surely they had champagne in Barbados but she never drank it, it was something for tourists. Well she was a tourist here so for fuck sake she would try but then someone interrupted her and the feeling this woman gave off, immediately gave Narcissa the feeling that the host had found her and was going to drag her out in a minute. Well at least, she took a sip of champagne, ew, she had tried. She put the glass on the table that the two of them stood next to and she noticed the expression on Sonya's face changed a little, but she couldn't and didn't want to put her finger on it.
Shame. Yea shame indeed that someone had given her the wrong address and that she was now in this mess and that they let her arrive without difficulty if this woman would say something about security and her being at the wrong party... Narcissa wouldn't hesitate to tell but apparently it was that she had missed her arrival and the former-hero opened her mouth to say something but she couldn't find a snarky retort after a compliment so she simply smiled very politely. Narcissa had no eyes for the glass Sonya was holding, she raised an eyebrow and simply watched the waiter cower a bit before he hurried off to the man that had let her in, or she assumed he still stood there, to get her a band. "A guest band?" Seriously what was that for, there was no children party. She simply gave a nod and a shrug about having to see that and she wasn't sure if the woman really minded with the intonation that she gave but than again it might be just a Japanese thing that she missed. "Narcissa King, I must have mistaken your party for the one I was invited too." She said and she gave a polite smile, now it was time to follow up with a compliment and she knew exactly what to say. Hopefully, her Japanese words would let her carry it well. "I have to admit, from what I know from the other party, I like yours more already."

Sonya smiled ruefully; "Yes, a guest band. Unfortunately this event is quite private and there are a few members of the city government here. It wouldn't do to have just anyone waltz in," She said, glancing in Narcissa's direction with an almost playful smile. Unfortunately, Sonya's amusement was more like a tiger playing with a wounded rabbit, any concept of good will or true playfulness was long ago lost to the creature that lingered beneath her skin. Had it been when her eyes had melted in her own head that her heart had turned black? Was it later on? Sonya paid no attention to it, she'd stopped thinking about it a long time ago.
Instead Sonya took the woman's hand in hers, brought it up to her lips and gave it a single peck on the knuckle. "It's a pleasure, Miss King," Sonya said before waving over one of the nearest waiters and putting down the glass she was holding. "Something stronger, please," She said as the security guard approached from the right and brought over what appeared to be a thick and round bracelet with a faint light glowing within. The glowing light flashed in a sequential pattern now and then. Sonya took it and admired it for a moment before handing it over to Narcissa. "Your guest band. My company designed it," Sonya said.
Narcissa's compliment was greeted with a wide, unabashed smile; "I'm so glad you like it, why don't you stay a while then? Not often you get to meet police captains and city council members, mmm? Perhaps one of them will be mayor one day," | TAG WORDS NOTES

She flushed, oh god no they were here. "The government? Oh." She looked around again but the first glance did not show her anything. "Funny to bump into colleagues when you least expect them." She would have to go to the other party but she wasn't even safe here. Maybe they were for another department, it would mean that she would not have to be scared of showing her face. Besides, parties were for everyone. She looked at Sonya's koi smile, "So tell me, this private party what is the reason for it?" She felt a little surprised to be kissed on the hand and what to think about it. She wasn't going to to make a deal about it but it was strange to see in Japan, but maybe Sonya wasn't from Japan, her name wasn't even Japanese.
She had to focus on that. She looked at the security guard and at the band and lifted up her left hand so the guest band could be around it. "Your company?" She looked upon it a little better to be able to see it, the quality was marvellous and very pretty. "That is a nice piece of art." She wasn't going to leave now, this party looked a lot better than her own, maybe she would not meet the city councilmen indeed before, but now she would or the police captains, yes that was a very good idea. Probably they were more fun than the people who went about embassies. She wasn't sure what else to say but she rather would learn about the company, who knows what kind of interest that was. she could definitely learn something about trust worthy companies here in Japan. But there was a lot for work for that but she wasn't going to make a hard work for it tonight. It will come at another time.

Sonya glanced up from her glass and cocked an eyebrow; "Oh? You work with the government then," She said casually, setting the glass aside when a waiter returned with two cocktail glasses laden with whiskey. She took one and drew in a breath, ahh, now that was an aroma one could appreciate. She placed the other glass of hard liquor in her guest's hand. "For you dearie," She said. It was a small thing, but it was a word she oft used when conversing on the villain chat. A verbal tick of hers. She nodded a bit; "A friendly get together mostly," she said, in regards to the woman's question. "I am planning to announce a new social aid program jointly between my company and the government," She nodded at one of the officials walking by. "Making friends ahead of a vote is important." She said with a chuckle.
"ASTA Corporation, we deal in luxury goods, consumer electronics, quirk support tools, and weaponry;" She said casually, taking another sip of the potent liquid.
She smiled at the band around her own wrist; "Art. You are absolutely correct. Technology should not suffer function over form; this is an example of that," She said, running her finger over the glowing band. "It keeps track of biometrics to ensure the safety of those at the event. If crisis levels are detected it sends a signal to security. Otherwise it's set to not react to most other signals at the moment. Wouldn't want security knowing someone was a little... excited, mm?" Sonya let out a delighted laugh and took another sip. "So what brings you to Japan, dearie?" | TAG WORDS NOTES

She frowned a little, moving her head left and right while trying to find the right words. "Yes and no." She said and smiled a little as Narcissa tried to be as charming as possible. "I am here as ambassador, so I learn a lot from Japan. They work and I watch." She said with a wink and hopefully the right amount of charm. She was working on their destruction but they could obviously not know that so it was a bit of both. She looked at the cocktail glass that wasn't filled with a fruity looking drink, the thing was see-through. Martini maybe? She wasn't a real fan of that but it would work well enough. She had just enjoyed her champagne but she would not say no to anything stronger from the hostess. "That is so kind of you." She smiled politely. She should really pay attention to more people at this party, who knows what she could learn from it. She took a sip and nodded, a friendly get-together, interesting. She looked interested in what Sonya was telling. Simply because she was from the ambassador section of the government she wasn't very well aware, but she was going to work up her way within the ranks of the government, that was the goal. A vote. Interesting indeed and Narcissa showed all the interest she could muster up, it wasn't a lie either. "What vote?" She decided to ask because well it did not help to remain stupid, so you could better ask and learn.
Quirk support tools. Hm, that was a very interesting thing to consider with the government. But she did not say so, she nodded, she liked the idea a lot. "It is a beautiful example and I am curious what you would bring to the markets more." She said politely but she also meant it as she looked at the bracelet more, definitely a nice thing and she wondered what more the little bracelet could do. But Sonya, like every good saleswoman, wasn't shy to admit it. "Oh." She managed to say when they spoke about excitement. Did it work for violent intoxication though? Some people seemed to get rather feisty when they had enough, but maybe she would see later. The question Sonya asked was one that would slowly come into her brain and realise that she would have to answer. "A new start." It wasn't the truth but it wasn't a lie either. "For me and my country. We are looking for Japan as an example of our own when it comes to heroes and the like. I myself have nothing back at home, I could use something new." Nothing, yes exactly but the question might follow what she meant with that. So she would have to think of a potential answer already.

Sonya nodded absently, an ambassador then? That made sense, Japan was one of the nations on the forefront of handling the rise of Quirkers. It should go without saying that many nations would seek to follow its example. It was such a casually offhanded remark that she didn't even consider for a moment what Japan got out of all of it. The island nation was known for many things but generosity to other states was not one of them. Sonya crossed her legs and tried to think about what this woman could possibly bring to the table. Or what other motivations there could be. Nothing, there wasn't enough information and she wasn't about to psychoanalyze the woman just because she saw a tiny hole in her story. Everyone had secrets. Instead, Sonya kept up her veil of transparency and moved the conversation along; "Why the vote on setting aside funding for subsidized quirker support, dearie," Sonya said, "There are fair arguments on both sides; Quirkers have 'advantages' that other non-quirkers are without but there are also those with debilitating and unwieldy quirks, they are still japanese citizens and if their quirks 'disable' or make their lives difficult, it is only right they get support from the government they pay taxes too, correct?" Sonya said calmly, tapping the glass with a manicured fingernail.
"Unfortunately, there is enough pressure to prevent the Government to fully support such a venture, so companies like my own have offered to take on part of the burden," Sonya said, gesturing to a few of the guests; "My company is one of the better organized and connected such organizations, as such I am er... leading the charge, yes," She had to think of the right way to phrase it, a moment of hesitation.
Sonya nodded again when Narcissa gushed a bit about the bracelet; "You'll have to visit our offices and see for yourself, mm? We have a great deal to offer. I plan on doing a fashion show in the coming weeks; you should join me," Sonya was many things, a businesswoman, an entertainer, a political player, but she also fancied herself a bit of a ladies woman and could not resist such an attractive creature in front of her. Though she also knew well enough when to back off; "A new start?" She said, cooling her flirtatious expression; "I understand that all too well. I have Japanese ancestry which allowed for naturalization from my home in Russia. Coming here was an opportunity to live a life I couldn't have back home," Sonya said distantly; "What 'new' are you looking for?" She asked, genuinely curious now how someone else would handle a similar life decision. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Narcissa simply looked at the drink, it wasn't that they didn't have this at Barbados but they mostly mixed drinks and she liked that but she wouldn't let herself be known this way and thus she took a sip. The expression on her face said enough, but it would not stop her further on. She decided to play the new guest here and that would mean she did not bully herself about asking questions. She could just ask them as she had no idea about the why and how in this system. She frowned, god was she left out again, that was no surprise at her work. They kept forgetting mostly to inform her or how. But she would build her own metropole on information and she wouldn't need them. They would all need her. This was however not the time to daydream. "Oh," The frown on her face and the pout from her lips were obvious, "I didn't know that, do you think that works? A vote?" She would like to know what the citizens thought of it and after showing her bracelet, she was sure that Sonya's vote must be one of the important ones.
She heaved her head a little, she did not like this conversation. Surely it was interesting but she hated how it formed and the talk around it. Non-quirkers needed to stop complaining about every stupid little thing. That victim role did not fit anyone. But the argument that Sonya put forth made Narcissa her shoulders lower a bit, yes, she agreed with that. "Indeed. I like the way you phrased that. It is the duty of the government to show support for every individual is how my father raised me. That is very difficult and probably more here than at my home." Because Barbados was so much smaller than Japan, it couldn't even be compared.
"I believed the Government isn't that open-minded about quirkers as they make us from outside believe." She said and she raised an eyebrow, this was a nice opportunity to talk to Sonya and get her point of view instead of the biased people from her office. She nodded, companies, that was maybe a solution. Narcissa did not hate the quirkers in general, she hated the system and the burden and blame that got put upon her plate and the banishment. What would happen in three years if she would have to go back? Again, now wasn't the time. "Interesting, there aren't other companies that take this opportunity or well the first brave step?"
She wasn't sure why the woman did hesitate but she would see again and would now ask about the bracelet. "That would be very interesting, I wouldn't mind doing someday." She nodded, a fashion show also sounded exactly something that she would not mind doing. As long as they would not try and wiggle her into such hero outfits anymore. She wanted to burn that of her past away and not give them the feeling that they could even slightly recognize her.
It was interesting to hear that Sonya came here as well from another place, "I have to be honest, I don't know yet. I just watch what comes onto my path. The job of the embassy was a starting point for that, in these two months I have not decided yet what I am looking for." Because there was nothing that really entertained her yet and her hate and anger kept growing, she might have to find something for that first. But she could not trust anyone and thus she did not know where to begin and what to do.

Oh, she was a treat. Sonya looked down at her drink for a moment, the lenses of her eyes twisting and turning here and there. The clicking and whirring sound they made was something only she could hear and she'd learned to ignore it over the years. She uncrossed and crossed her legs, taking a sip of her drink while the woman considered the very idea of a vote. Well that was interesting. Sonya smiled a bit and tilted her head to the right, as if eyeing Narcissa for the first time; "Certainly. Or at least it works for those who care about fair play," Sonya said flatly. "A vote is an illusion of choice. Especially in a system like this one. An illusion of choice is better than the cognitive reality of the absence of agency," Sonya added, taking a sip of her drink.
She placed the glass down; "People like to think they have a say. If they vote in their representatives then that makes them feel powerful. If they feel powerful, they feel less helpless, and are less likely to do something...stupid," Sonya concluded, her unblinking eyes locked with Narcissas. She smiled and reached out, patting Narcissa's knee. "Supporting every individual is vital to maintaining order, order means comfort, comfort means the opportunity for progress, art, science, vital things to the development of a society," Sonya nodded and gave a bright smile; "Your father was a wise man," She said and glanced at several of those present.
"They aren't, quirker society is young, even here in Japan. But what everyone can agree on is that quirkers are still japanese citizens, even if they are in some ways biologically different from normal humans," Sonya said simply, resting her hands in her lap, "There are small groups that believe otherwise but to be frank; the greatest development in Japanese Quirker Society is the confirmation of humanity, heroes are... more of a logical outcome," Sonya added, sipping again at her drink. "Those heroes need goods, equipment, tools, medicine and clothing designed for them. And while most companies are still stuck in the early twenty-first century, I see this changing society as a new demographic to concentrate on;" Sonya answered, adjusting her dress again and eyeing Narcissa playfully.
"Then consider it an open invitation, come by anytime," Sonya offered, raising her glass in salute before sipping again. When Narcissa got to talking about what new she was looking for, Sonya's lip twisted a bit and she eased back a bit to listen, concentrating on every word, every word choice. "It takes time," Sonya said after several moments pause, it was a silence that stretched out between them until it caused a momentary discomfort; "Sometimes a lot of time. I was... here since college. Studying Violin of all things," Sonya laughed, waving a dismissive hand at the memory. "Another time, another life, you will find what you are looking for, your goal, your place, your home, I am certain of it. And of course don't hesitate to tell me if you need help in doing that... I've taken a bit of a liking to you in this first meeting," She winked. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Fair play. How the word annoyed her, the word fair. The world wasn't fair, it was as simple as that. And thus it did not need her to be fair about it either. She would want to strange the word if it was something you could hold on to but it did not work that simple and she understood that very well but it wasn't that easy to let go. The wound was still fresh in her mind and even though it needed time to simply become a slumber, it would never leave her. She was dropped like she was a drenched kitten that was no longer wanted and not even thrown on someone's doorstep, no miles away from her home. From her so-called friends. They weren't even real, because they never called her, they never came to visit. She really had no one, that made it easier to focus on a job that she was going to do here. If she would manage her job here, she might go to the next and would kill it just as well, she wasn't sure how she would continue. Maybe she would just give up on life after that, who knows. Buy her own island and wait for the end because she had nothing better to do. She gave a formal nod, yes an illusion. An illusion gave the world the idea that they had been able to voice their opinion and get what they wanted or to a vague understanding of why they lost and thus complain only in the family circle. The quirk tax as she had realized before had not given them any idea of a vote, of this illusion of choice, which made a lot of people angry.
She made a chuckling sound, "You clearly have not met the stupid people in society." She chuckled but she understood what Sonya meant, she wasn't sure what to think of the look of Sonya on her. And thus she averted her eyes and wasn't either sure what the pat on her knee meant. She wasn't sure what to do. She simply nodded and looked from the corner of her eyes to Sonya, yes indeed, "Not so wise." She mumbled but hoped the hostess wouldn't hear it as she did not intend to talk about it. Her jaw visibly clenched and she had sold this idea as that she wanted a new start but she was just simple banished, so much for a wise man. He wanted the cognitive approval thus he blamed the one person he could control. She wondered how her former colleague was doing, why was he not hurt by the Flame's actions, why was it just Narcissa?
She wasn't sure about the companies but maybe ASTA was simply the biggest one and they slipped Sonya's attention, which Narcissa wouldn't blame her for. Why put attention into shit like that. It would be a waste of time anyway. She nodded and finally dared to look at Sonya fully again, it felt nicer and politer so she should. "It's hard to see how worldwide some of the most simple human rights are denied simply because someone has a quirk." She was lucky that as an ambassador she didn't fall under the rules of Japan, so no quirk tax for her or anything and well she was quite easy to miss as a quirker. She got a sour expression on her face when the heroes are more of a logical outcome. No, they were not a logical outcome. She simply gave a nod, to show she was listening. "Can everyone get the clothing in that case or is it only for heroes?" Not that she would ask something, nope, but she had left her white suit back in Barbados, it was probably destroyed.
She smiled a little happier, "I will take you up on that for sure." It would be a nice distraction of all the disasters that was going on. She took her own glass and took another sip of it as well. She nodded, there were not many words that the Barbadian woman could say. But yes, it needed a lot of time. She looked shortly at her lap and the glass she was holding. "Violin, how interesting. I haven't played music in quite some time anymore." She had no time, but now it felt like it was blocked anyway. Anything she could as a child or as a hero was just not there anymore, she wasn't the same Narcissa. She smiled and closed her eyes shortly, it was nice to hear, but she had to tell herself that Sonya would get bored with her eventually. "I wouldn't mind, I could use a friend here, one that is intelligent and beautiful like you." Narcissa her interests did lie in shopping and politics, but the latter was not often discussed with people and yet here she had a whole conversation about it, without any issues. Yes, she liked Sonya.

Sonya watched the woman's face as they spoke. Little shifts in expression, little moments, little changes. But when that look in her eyes came upon mentioning heroes as a logical outcome of society; Sonya saw something special. Something more than just a curious woman who had stumbled into the wrong place. Sonya's smile grew a little, just a little, wicked. She got to her feet and nodded to Narcissa, holding her hand out. Narrow, pale, delicate fingers like the claws of some ghost outstretched, welcoming, the hand of a demon waiting to draw someone into their sin. "Then consider us friends," Sonya said, nodding to the room around them. "You are... more than these people, I can see it," She said; "...as valuable as they are..." She stared dismissively at a few of the politicians talking.
It was a frustrating thing that she depended on the very existance of these pathetic creatures. What a day it would be when she was no longer bound by the concerns of society; when she had the power to do as she pleased. Villain. The word made Sonya smile. Certainly the word had its own meanings to most people. But words changed in meaning over the years, it all depended on the meaning attributed to them. Villain. She would give the word a new meaning, and it was these people who would be her stepping stones, her tools, her resources.
But Narcissa?
She had a mind of her own; "Come with me, let me introduce you to everyone, it's time you started making connections here in Japan and I would be honored to be your facilitator," Sonya said, holding out her arm. | TAG WORDS NOTES
