"About thirteen - forty one. That's basically one pm, almost two. Weird that people are still here, they usually leave a bit sooner to go back to work. Is it a holiday here in Japan today that I forgot? Or maybe I'm just getting more costumers who have more time on their hands."
Maxi muttered to himself while taking a second to stare at his watch, having used some of his copious amounts of money to buy things that he really didn't necessarily need, not with the advent of digital phones, but chose to have it just because of speed and style. The watch had both digital and old elements, just in case he didn't feel like reading the position of the needles and wanted to be lazy instead.
His retro-styled 50's Milk Bar was bustling more than usual, with people clearly having taken a liking to his new "Anything-Milkshakes", having come up with the idea when someone saw him use his quirk to violently turn a fruit into dust and mix it into a simple milkshake to give it the flavoring. People really liked it, just how fine and pure it tasted, so he eventually just decided to give in to what they liked and do as they pleased.
So far, his most popular flavors were banana, chocolate and strawberry, those being very simple flavors, tasting even purer and higher quality with the making it in front of them, from fresh ingredients, all that. It tricked their minds into thinking it was better than others. Or not, maybe it really was better than other Milkshakes. He didn't drink or eat a lot of stuff not made by himself, so he wouldn't know.
Still.
His efforts on creating the new "Anything-Milkshake" line had brought his establishment even more popularity than before and, thanks to it, money had started flowing just fine into his hands, leaving him wondering if he could actually open a new place and turn his Kane's Kandy into a brand. If he did so, he'd probably have to rebrand and change the name, because Kane's Kandy sounded hilariously bad. It worked well enough for a local spot, but if he wanted a national brand, he'd have to think about something different.
Though, sadly, he didn't know if the people he'd put in these new establishments would do things up to his quality standards. What he could do was make the establishment where he works a much higher-end thing, where one can get all the special, crazy stuff and make smaller establishments that can have their own signature thing.
For now, he'll serve whoever comes in.
Hoping that no old acquaintances or old friends show up, because a confrontation in front of such a big public would make everything bad for him. It may sound rude or disingenuous, but he had the right to maintain his public image, specially as a man who needs to be careful with what he says or does in front of others or suffer profit losses.
