Post by Farrah di Prima on Nov 13, 2019 22:43:15 GMT -4
One constant existed for the 2nd year students of UA: that they could count on Farrah di Prima being late to whatever scholastic or social function was planned, no matter the cushion designed for it. This pool party was no exception, with the off-kilter blonde showing up up fashionably late and in questionable fashion. That is to say, while the others had all come clad in swimsuits, Farrah had seemingly come dressed in her black topcoat, the same one she wore for hero business and... most other purposes, really. Her shades fit here, but she looked like she'd probably end up waterlogged with the rest of the ensemble. Besides that, she'd brought an odd, swan-shaped inner-tube with a ducky neck and wobbling head, as well as a long lounging towel with a black and white, zebra-striped pattern to it.
With a skip and a dance, she made her way into the fancy pool party, reflecting once again that UA sure had a lot of moneyed individuals in it. Of course, she would have come even without that enticement. Rowan was the captain of her cheer team, yes, but also a friend; it wouldn't do to leave her hanging. Furthermore, summer would be over before she knew it... and she hadn't had a chance to scope out her classmates' swimsuits yet! Pool parties were a great way to do that, in her experience. It was also a great time to show off!
As such, once she reached poolside, Farrah made a show of laying out her towel, then, in a grand flourish, she threw open her coat and slapped it over her shoulder, striking a vogue pose. Her swimsuit underneath was something out of another era, an old-fashioned one-piece, running from shoulder straps down to a very full chest coverage, covering everything from the naval down to the upper thighs in stretchy, black-and-white striped fabric. Her glamorous body was almost entirely an afterthought next to the silly swimwear. One might notice her blond, wavy hair was already slick with sweat, and she was breathing like she'd just been exercising... dancing in a black trenchcoat in this kind of weather was exercise in its own right.
Setting her coat down to next to her towel, she lowered her inner-tube into the water, as her blue eyes scanned the party from behind thick, black sunglasses. There was Kirk, her opponent from the cart course, instantly recognizable by his muscles and attention-grabbing by his voice. There was Takumi; she'd enjoyed his sax performance before and she also recognized from a brief meeting at the sports fest as well. Of course, she'd recognize Rowan, the hostess and cheerleading captain, dressed in a fetching red bikini. She noticed the newly arrived Feng too; the sight of the sporty martial artist sporting a swimsuit was worth a second look!
There were also plenty Farrah couldn't name, but she'd certainly seen them around before: an energetic and attractive girl, hanging on to Kirk, and a shy boy who Kirk was valiantly attempting to yank out of his shell. Another blond girl, also a cutie, was hanging around Rowan; Farrah knew she'd seen her before, but again, perhaps had never made an official introduction. All in all, it was a very exciting assembly, and Farrah couldn't wait to make a poetic introduction to them all.
Evidently having never noticed a "no running by the pool sign" before in her life, Farrah danced back and forth at pool-side, trying to catch everyone's attention. "The summer sun! The scent of sweat! These are our most exciting days yet! And to add to that, I've made the scene! Farrah di Prima, so fun it's obscene!" she introduced herself, striking a disco pose with one finger in the air. She swiped the fist back down to her chest a few times energetically and continued. The audience might be thinking that Kirk's shouting and Farrah's together was a bit much. "It's time to frolick! It's time to play! It's time to get a suntan today! I've already lotioned up- sorry all- and now I'm going to join the-"
Somewhere after her playful wink, Farrah's foot had slipped, and what looked like some strange kabuki dance turned to Farrah falling face-first into the pool, sliding through the ring of her ducky innertube. Her legs were left sticking out, kicking in the air, while her upper half was submerged under the water. She'd started so far away that the group would be free to swim to her rescue, or simply ignore her and let her fix her own self-inflicted predicament, at their leisure.

Even when 2 more girls arrived, Miku still stuck with Rowan, her best friend. She knew that the most as her classmates were kind of not here. Rowan asked Miku if they should get an inflatable balloon that could toss towards eachother. Miku just smiled and nodded. She felt the more people arrived, that the more shy she got. There were so many people she could meet and yet for some reason, all of the sudden, she just felt she should hide behind Rowan.
Speaking of which, she went to get the ball. Miku of course followed her as she didnt wanna leave Rowans side. Thats when a splash was heard, it was of course Kirk! Miku felt she should like raise a score board card thing with a grade that says 10 or something snooty as a 6.5. But then Rowan gave Miku the ball. "Thank you" But then she said she'll be there in a sec. Miku shrugged and just slowly went in. Miku held the ball and didnt know what to do. Who would play with her. Takumi? Would he? Should she?
Miku also looked at the last 2 girls that came, those would be Feng and Farrah. Should she approach them? Sigh

Luka made his way towards the location of the party, his polished shoes clicking on the pavement as he sighed slightly. Hair done up in a high ponytail, he was still dressed in his work clothes, having just finished a shift at the cafe. White dress suit, black paints, charcoal waistcoat, a wine red cravat of all things, and the half apron that hinted at his actual job. It was hardly party attire, but he hadn't had a chance to change yet and his other clothes were in the bag hanging from his shoulder. He was still trying to bring himself up and out of the funk that he'd been in for so long now and actually socialise with his peers, and this seemed like a good idea, especially for the class president's party.
At least that had been the idea, but now he was tired and sore and unsure if he should go through with this.
Stepping into the hotel, he followed the instructions to the party's location in time to watch a young woman in an archaic swimsuit design dancing around the poolside like a lunatic. Raising an eyebrow at her behaviour he couldn't help but stare as he tucked a loose strand of blue hair behind his ear. And then she proceeded to faceplant into the pool, a sight that he was quite glad to have come in time to see. He wasn't about to go over and help the odd girl, he had no intention on going anywhere near the water in his work clothes. "I see I came at the right time for some entertainment~" he said with a slight grin, waving slightly to the room. He knew a few people by sight, but there was no one in the room that he could claim to be friends with... something that was entirely his fault, but still, it was enough for him to feel weird about it.
Once he had greeted everyone he headed to the change room and swapped out his work outfit for a pair of white shorts and a blue tank top. He wasn't one to wear standard swimsuits, they tended to make him look indecent. Emerging from the change room, he'd approach the girl who had been dancing with a curious expression on his face. He casually called out to her with a slight cheeky smile. "Winter's breath strikes the heart, so why sing and dance of summer's art? The lotion was a bit much, perhaps you have noticed as such."
Rhyme could be fun too.

Jace actually did something he almost never did at cat jokes, giggling out loud when Kirk joked about how much money had been spent on this party. He tended to get a lot of cat jokes made about him, and they almost always were a mean-spirited scaredy cat type pun, so having a admittedly lame yet silly joke was refreshing. So much so, that it caught him off guard, and he couldn't hold back from giggling at it, and just how unexpected and yes, lame, it had been. But lame or not, it was a great start, and while Jace's overly jumpy nature caused a slight hiccup in overreacting from a gentle and friendly slap on the back, Kirk's surprising gentleness despite his bombastic nature made things easier. Jace felt almost ease despite the fact he was at his first party. Though he couldn't help but blush further when Kirk pointed out how red his face was, making the innocent but incorrect assumption that he must be hot in his clothes, him easily being the most heavily dressed person here. But thankfully they didn't dwell on that, and instead Kirk talked about staying in shape, Jace being very recipricol towards the conversation, and smiling at the T-Rex joke. It looks like you could too...You make everything you've been doing sound so cool...
But as their conversationed turned to the days getting colder, they were interrupted by the sudden appearance of Yumi and the grey haired boys own yell for people to join. Jace looked at the ground from this, blushing as he started to once again become visibly anxious. Maybe a pool party had been a bit much for a first party.... Though it was natural, he did have a fire quirk after all. And as those thoughts entered his head, Kirk dashed them away in a almost profoundness, pointing out one simple fact. He wasn't always on fire. Jace's face turned even more red at being called out at this, almost matching a thermometer as his eyes were wide at that. ..W-Wai...I-Its not that..I-I mean I..I, umm, I-I..I don't even have any...Umm...! He was literally left sputtering, yelling out as he tried to think of a reason as Kirk ran to join everyone in the pool. And so the ginger boy did something he rarely did, he pouted, sticking his tongue in his cheek creating a pouting look as he was visibly annoyed and turned towards the bartender as he rested his hand on the table.
Though he wasn't annoyed because Kirk didn't understand, quite the contrary, he understood how his quirk worked TOO well! The excuse he'd been giving himself, that pools just weren't compatible due to his quirk, just didn't hold any water. While he would have difficulty igniting himself when wet, it wasn't exactly difficult to solve, and even then fire was only one part of his quirk and he could still do everything else. His eyes narrowed in bigger annoyance as he was forced to face reality instead of lying too himself, forcing him to accept the fact he just really didn't feel comfortable being that undressed. It was just too much for the shy boy. Not that he hadn't known this but...It had been nice to blame something else beyond just him being too much of a loser to wear something as simple as a stupid swim suit. He let out an exasperated sigh hating the way he was, as the bartender took pity on him and placed a drink next too him. Thank you... He turned, sipping on his drink, to see everyone in the pool, Kirk having jumped in pretty enthusiastically and also some newcomers arriving. The first was a red headed girl in a rather conservative swimsuit, introducing herself as Feng from class A. That explained why he didn't know her, he was in class C. Though he did find himself jealous of how conservative her swimsuit was. He wished there were boys swimsuits that weren't just straight up shorts. He also realized how much it had contracted with Yumi's swimsuit.
The lightning quirk girl was dressed about as much as Jace would have expected, and while even he had had enough social awareness to realize she didn't quite remember him, he didn't push it or mind too much. To her, watching over him and introducing him to the school had probably been another Tuesday for the class president. But for him, it had been one of the most eventful days of his life. She'd guided him through school, helped him get comfortable, and then accidentally flashed her underwear at him. Even now he was blushing to an almost unnatural degree just remembering it. She'd tried to get him to spar as well, but he'd been way too overstimulated from the day and needed to cool down and had been taken to the dorms. Still, Jace didn't mind she didn't remember, and he just watched the pool drinking his drink when he noticed someone else approaching. The one black haired girl who'd been talking to the blonde when he'd gotten here.
Jace looked curiously at Rowan as she came up to him. He didn't know her at all, he wasn't even really aware she was their gracious host due to his less than rather lackluster introduction, so he really didn't know what she wanted. But his eyes raised as she brought up how fire had been brought up by Kirk. His expression went from curious to slightly guilty there, having too lack back a bit to avoid her eyes. She was worried about his quirk and that it was preventing him from joining everyone when Kirk had been right on the money in his accusation that in the long run it really didn't change anything. She even tried assuring him that there were other games he could play, and that the bartender would be willing to play any games with him. Jace looked at the so far pretty nice man, his face not even hiding what he was thinking. That just sounds sad... Though the bartender didn't seem to be insulted if he could read Jace's expression. The boy turned back at her teasing him about things being less boring, and saw her sticking her tongue out at him causing him to blush a bit. Then she brought up a possible dance game, causing his eyes to raise in alarm and blush even more. He was absolutely not doing that, even if they tortured him. O-Oh...Uhmm, uhh, t-thank you...T-Though its not that bad...I just...Uhmm..I just don't have any...Uhmm...Swim clothes.... She'd run back and join everyone, and Jace would watch again. And then he'd get up, taking off his shoes and raising his pantlegs before waving to the bartender,
The ginger boy had no real intentions of actually getting in the pool, but he definitely didn't want to be stuck playing games with the poor bartender all day...So he decided to just relax at the poolside, by the water and near everyone without having to actually undress. And as he did so, even more people arrived. He didn't know them either, one being a blonde girl with an innertube and a weird looking swimsuit and the other a girl with long blue hair in what looked to be work clothes. As Jace sat by the pool, the cool water refreshing against his legs and the crisp air against the rest of him it wasn't bad at all. He watched the strange looking girl scream in really bad rhyming before falling into her own innertube, tilting his head confusion at what type of street art that was supposed to be. At least the blue haired girl looked like he'd save her, so Jace just watched everyone else in the pool as he kicked his legs in the water contentedly.

As Yumi bounced back up from the water, Kirk felt a very special kind of feeling. Mix of two primal instincts: The feeling of mild relief... and the feeling of mild regret, mixed together into cocktail of spooked. He visibly kicked slower under water, almost trying to hide himself a little bit, but naturally he was way too big to hide like that. Soon, he lifted his arms up, and waved them towards Yumi. "W-wait! I can expla-!" Luckily, the splash interrupted his spooked babble. How could he explain, that he needed to cool himself down in the pool? "THE CALL OF THE POOL! You can't resist a bro inviting you to pool! Bro-code!" This was one of those rare times, where he just came up with a random rule. It was WAY too specific of a situation to have a bro-code rule attached!
However, atleast he got this new dudes approval in diving skills! He finally gave his own motion... "O-oh! Thanks! Would have never made so big of a splash without the extra weight from..." He blinked, his eyeballs quickly moving towards yumi, as he lifted his arm and patted his bicep awkwardly. "M-my muscles! C-concentrated weight at its maximum potential, you know!" Better not accidentally give her even more of a reason to be angry...! The splash at Takumi just reinforced the fact, that any risky moves would lead into a shocker...
In the end, Takumi proceeded to ask what they had been doing. A pretty casual question... "You mean besides training?" Kirk bent his head a bit to the side. "Well, admittedly, not seeing me around isn't that surprising! Since I live outside the school dorms after all!" He might have heard him though. He was the certified loudest student in class 2-C after all... Although admittedly, he didn't know that much about Takumi himself either. "Not much othervise! Internships been a thing, you know! I went over to this one place with Serperior and..."
Kirks attention was caught by sudden shouting coming from the side of the pool. Farrah! The girl she had fought back in the payload times! ...Come to think he had fought a lot of girls in the school... Anyways, The girl was pretty much dancing, busting rhymes as usual, in a quite school standard looking swimsuit! And from what Kirk understood from the rhymes, It seemed like she was pretty hype about it! "We get it dudette! Hop on in!" For a moment though, it seemed like she was instead going to go sunbathing... when suddenly she proceeded to just dive in! Admittedly it was not the most glorious dive, but hey, Kirk felt the need to clap. "HEYYYYyyyy...!" the cheer kind of quieted down, as he looked at the silly looking tree, formed from the desperate ladies legs, as she floated helplessly in the middle of her inner tube...
With the weirdly familiar blue haired guys rhyme following, Kirk blinked a couple of times, and proceeded to swim over to her, taking a breath in, and diving underwater. He would wave towards Farrah, Grab her arms, and Pull... The simplest way to get one out of trouble when somebody was stuck in something! Then, he kicked himself up back to the surface. "Good dive dudette! I'd say it was pretty decent aside from the whole floating issue!" A brief chuckle followed.
However, he couldn't help but glance at Jace who was just sitting over on the other side of the pool... Why wasn't he coming for a swim? it was not like he hadn't invited him to come along? He gave another wave towards him, before swimming back towards Takumi and others. "You know, We should probably have some sort of competition or something! get the blood running!"

tags here | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ Rowan wasn't even sure if what she had done was correct but it had worked in the end so she had just simply tried to invite Jace in or do something else, though his name was still missing in her vocabulary, she hurried back to Miku and greeted Feng and Farrah with a wave and smiled happily when Luka came. She had an idea that Jace lied to her and that the issue wasn't swimming clothes so she had not offered it and she looked over her shoulder and noticed he went closer to the pool, hm, she could always offer later. A lot of things happen in the mean time that she talked to Jace and went back to Miku. Farrah had fallen, the dive of Kirk and the splasing of Yumi, it seemed to be going fine and when Farrah was helped up by Luka and Kirk she had no need to worry about it and took a deep breath. "God father will murder me if someone was injured." But Farrah seemed fine and she was glad to see her vice show up for this, they could maybe introduce the dance game later but for now she would accompany Miku in the ball game that she brought. "Feng do you want to join or are you going to relax for now?" She smirked at her fellow 2-A student, of course she knew Feng from the classes but they were not really close, all Rowan knew was that she always seemed very busy with training and that was a very interesting thing to consider and maybe Rowan envied her for her focus, because the black-haired student definitely did not have it.
She looked around once more and went into the water, it felt like this nice temperature and it was almost tempting to follow Feng her example and just float around but she would not be able to trust the water and not be afraid of bumping into something. There was still something in her left that would be afraid of water and she took the ball back from Miku and threw it at her best friend, it was a floating ball the whole accuracy what she trained and got good at because of her quirk did not seem to work entirely here and she told herself that nothing would happen, she would definitely not blow up the ball. And if she did, they had others.

“I’m just going to relax here, the weather is lovely for this sort of leisure…”She replied to Rowan as she basked in the sun and continued to float in the pool.
Her skin felt the cool water all around her body and a gentle breeze blowing through. All of her senses were relaxed as she felt time slowly go by as the other had their fun. A day of relaxation from the frantic life she lives is a welcome change. Her muscles ached and the water was a perfect temperature to soothe the pains of training. There is something about pools that calm a panicked mind that can never compare to a hot bath. The sounds of the group having fun seem both close yet distant as she contemplates what to do after she is done relaxing. Maybe she can use the opportunity to join in on the fun and just enjoy the free time she has now.
But worrying about something like this is bad for the mind and ruins the idea of relaxing. So she continues to float around the pool and occasionally opens her eyes to see what others are doing at that moment.
Unconsciously, Feng continues to use various techniques to calm her heart and mind. Too much training could do that to someone one can say but she’ll be fine for the most part. Though the feeling of a few looks as she floated around did make her curious.
Overall, this is the first time in a while she can let her guard down without a care in the world.

Yumi stuck her tongue out at the two boys even as they playfully tried to justify their actions. She clearly wasn't actually mad in any respect but it was fun to play like she was kinda, just shaking her head eventually and breaking out into a small set of giggles as she settled a bit more readily in the water, idly kicking her legs to keep herself afloat. She still wasn't the BEST swimmer, but thanks to trying to keep up with practice on and off across her time at UA, she was at least passable to say the least. "Well all's even now. Just maybe think before you leap next time Kirky.~" She'd reach over and weigh on his back again, ruffling his moist hair before giving him some space. Thankfully for him she also thought he saved it well with the muscles comment, not realizing he'd almost implied she was a hefty weight to add to his splash.
At the question of what she'd been up to, she briefly tipped her head to either side. "Well yeah, same as Kirk. Mostly gotta keep up with UA's rigorous schedule ya know? Buuuut the art club's been kinda quiet since Jaz left, so I've been getting more into my cosplay stuff with my spare time. I actually started making a little money off of it a few months ago!~" She chimed with a bright smile before giving a light shrug. "Not much but-"
She stopped at the sound of a splash behind them, eyes widening in surprise as a student she didn't recognize at all just fell head first into the pool. She swam over to help a little too, lifting the tube up off of her legs so it'd be easier to get her free from below where Kirk was grabbing her arms, offering Farrah back her tube when she was back upright.

Takumi gently waded as he watched the friendly tension of the fun conflict between Kirk and Yumi simmer down before asking them what they had been up to, both of them unsurprisingly giving similar answers about training. At Yuuei, most students applied themselves at either their training in regards to physical conditioning or quirk usage, diligently at their studies, or in the case of many students, all of the above. With the boisterous and bubbly energy that Kirk and Yumi were exhibiting, respectively, it made sense for them to be the types to commit themselves to training intensely, although he didn't hear anything about studying, but that didn't mean they didn't work hard at that either as it was very fair to consider that to be a boring answer not worth mentioning.
Before Takumi could respond in kind, the attention was drawn to the grandiose speech of a blonde student wearing a modest one piece swimsuit by the edge of the pool, all to be punctuated by what seemed to be an accidental stumble into the water. Normally, Takumi would be worried for the girl's sake, as falling was never a pleasant thing, but in combination with the landing being in the relatively soft and refreshing water as a cushion, the energetic Kirk rushed to help her back to the surface. All seemed fine as best Takumi could tell, and while there were still some people hanging out on the sidelines, it felt like more people were migrating into the pool now.
During the commotion, Takumi noticed another girl in the pool, but her demeanor led the boy to believe that she was more or less trying to just relax and zone out away from the group for the time being, so he wouldn't bother saying anything to her or attempt to include her in the group.
I would way that was a way to make an entrance... Takumi would follow up on Kirk's bigger enthusiasm to Farrah with some mildly warm affirmation himself. He figured her previously high spirits would remain in tact through the blunder, but it never hurt to offer friendliness to anybody.
Takumi tilted his head moments later when Kirk suggested a competition of sorts to the rest of the group. A competition? You mean a pool game like chicken or marco polo? As Takumi inquired further to Kirk, he noticed the large inflatable ball being handled between Miku and Rowan. They have a ball too, if you wanna toss that around for a bit...
Takumi didn't mind exactly what the group wanted to do, but Kirk's general suggestion did seem fun to the boy and he felt it would be a good way to connect with these people in a more lubricated manner.

Kirk and Yumi worked together to rescue Farrah from her predicament, with Kirk doing the tugging out through the bottom and Yumi helping the inner tube off from her hips. This allowed Farrah to get back up quickly enough, though she nearly hit Kirk with her blonde ponytail as she flapped it back and forth, sputtering wildly. She had intended to enter with theatrics, but this was far from the plan. "Arigatou, friend Kirk! You saved me, truly! I was about to die an early death, unduly!" she thanked him, almost immediately regaining her smile after supposedly half-drowning... though, even that was perhaps hyperbole, given how many heroes-in-training had been around to save her. "And thank you as well! Though I don't know your name? That swimsuit's quite lovely, I must say, all the same!" the poetess flirted harmlessly. Takumi had joined in as well to offer an optimistic take, which Farrah appreciated. "Not how I intended, but an impact, right? Never forget the day this swan took flight!" she announced, spreading her arms like wings.
She turned to the blue-haired newcomer; another she didn't recognize. Her mood was unflappable, even as the child pointed out it was not really the right season for suntan lotion. "Summer, hm hm, it's a state of mind! When we gather together and such energy I find! I cannot yet surrender, nay, not to autumn! I'm a California summer girl, from top to bottom!" she announced, raising one finger dramatically, while using the other arm to flip up the tube Yumi had returned to her and slide under. Properly situated in her tube now, she thanked the others again for their help. "Excuse me, my fellows; I should greet our hostess! For as my captain, we share a certain closeness." It was hard to tell if she just needed to end the rhyme in a nice way or if she and Rogan were really such bosom chums, but in Farrah's mind, everyone was bosom chums.
She began to float her way towards Rowan, biting her lip as she passed the restive, perhaps meditating, Feng. She'd only ever seen the martial arts girl fly around in exciting combat style before... to see her here, floating through the pool with her guard down, was almost too much of an opportunity. A tickle opportunity, that is! She found herself desperately wanting to tickle the martial artist and see what the reaction would be... but resisted, as, in reflection, that might make her more of a nuisance than a friend, if Feng was just trying to relax. She'd greet Feng later, she resolved.
Finally, she made her way to Rowan, snapping a sharp salute. "My apologies for that strange, unfitting entrance! I come to you with the utmost repentance!" Farrah made her greeting, then felt near her eyes, suddenly realizing she'd lost her shades somewhere. Blinking a few times, she nonetheless gave her usual cocky smile. "Oh dear! Well, it's not so bright today, after all. No matter that I lost them during the fall," she chuckled. "A splendid party you have here! I feel an urge, to everyone to, myself, endear! Now what's this I heard about a dancing game? That sounds like something to which I'd offer my name!" she offered, framing her cleft chin with the cup of one hand, in an attempt to look intrigued and vogue at the same time.
She'd hear Rowan out, nodding along, then raised one hand. "Ah, just a minute, I feel out of water. Getting my glasses; I really gotta!" she informed Rowan, paddling her way back over to where Kirk and the others were. As she scanned the water for her sunglasses, she overheard Kirk speaking with Jace... it sounded like he was having some trouble getting his friend to join him in the pool. Jace looked shy and a little mousy... she couldn't help but view it as a worthy challenge to get him to have fun with the others. Though, her internship had just reminded her recently that she shouldn't force her way of having fun on others.
Still, it couldn't hurt to try! "If you'd like, why not try out this tube of mine? If you sit atop, you'll only wet your behind!" she proposed, inelegantly attempting to provide a solution so the young man could join the others in the pool. Jace would probably rather die than be seen floating around the pool, fully dressed and riding a swan-shaped inner-tube. "... Well, maybe not that. But there are games we could play! Having fun just outside, at poolside, today!" she offered. "How about a word game? We can make limericks! Or perhaps that's only the way I get my kicks?" One could either admire her spirit of inclusiveness or chastise her for being way too overbearing towards a relative stranger.

Miku did as Rowan, and greeted both Feng and Farrah with a wave, but then hijinx ensued with Kirk and Farrah and Yumi, with Farrah falling down and Kirk and Yumi having to save her. Rowan then asked Feng if she wanted to join her and Miku playing ball. Feng though declined as she wanted to just rest where she was. Well, very well, it was just her and Rowan playing ball then. Rowan tossed the ball, Miku caught it and tossed it back. She was almost like a happy child when it came to a simple game such as that
But as she was playing around with Rowan, she overheard Kirk say something about a competition. She didnt know what it was,she didnt care much what it was, all she wanted was to stick with Rowan. Because Rowan was her friend, she knew her the best. The others were more like strangers that she knew by reputation. Yumi for example, they were both in art club, but they didnt interact at all. Kirk, another example. She heard of him and she HEARD him. But having a conversation with him in person? Never really happened, unless you count that one time when she hid behind Naoru

Luka watched with a raised brow at the self declared 'California summer girl' recovered from her little accident and ended up wandering off. He couldn't help but feel like she was an incredibly strange person. Considering he had gone to U.A. for nearly two years now, that was a feat to accomplish. But with that brief interaction over he wasn't quite sure what to do now, so many people here were basically unknown to him, beyond spending time in the same classrooms with some of them. His isolation had certainly hurt him socially it seemed, because now he wasn't even remotely sure how to proceed.
After a few moments of contemplation he made his way over to the orange haired boy sitting by the edge of the pool and plopped down next to him with a casual grace. "So how come you're not swimming?" he asked curiously, his own feet sinking into the water and idly kicking around in it. After several hours on his feet it was rather soothing, and he looked out across the pool at the others who were playing around. "I suppose this is nice too, but seems a little strange that you'd come to a pool party and not hop in..." he tried not to sound like he was being insulting, not wanting to upset the other boy. He generally didn't think things through, but that didn't mean he wasn't aware of other peoples' feelings, and he certainly knew that hurting someone's feelings when you were trying to start a conversation wasn't exactly the smartest act in the world.
It was around this time that the rhyming girl came back and offered her inner tube, a nice thought but one that seemed unlikely at best. Her suggestion of wordgames was odd, only reinforcing his belief that she was stranger than most, but he couldn't help himself from at least playing along. "How about this one then, 'This limerick goes in reverse / Unless I’m remiss / The neat thing is this: / If you start from the bottom-most verse / This limerick’s not any worse'," the young von Eisenberg recited, a small smirk on his face. In poetry rules were just guidelines after all, and he enjoyed the way that one worked both forward and reversed in its' own way. Realising he had been a little rude earlier, he turned back to the orange haired boy, "oh, I'm Luka, Luka von Eisenberg, nice to meet you~" and offered his hand to be shaken.

Surprisingly for a school full of rambunctious wannabe heroes, things were rather calm. And more importantly, everyone looked like they were really having fun. Of course there were a few misteps, the beatnik girl falling into the pool, requiring assistance from a few of the swimming partygoers to come to her rescue, and the mini splash war that happened after Kirk's rather impressive cannonball. Thankfully Jace had been far enough away from that as he sat on the edge of the pool, watching everything with slight bemusement. He'd never really been to a real party like this before, especially one that was pool based, so he wasn't really sure if things like this normally happened or if it was unique to the students of a school for heroes and all the quirkiness that came along with it. He supposed it didn't really matter though, and even though he was sitting on the sidelines away from the action, he still found himself enjoying the moment of everything.
And as he relaxed on the poolside, a smile started to form on his face, enjoying watching everyone have fun while he splashed the water with his feet. Than that smile promptly fell, replaced with a panicked look as Kirk waved him over to actually go IN the pool. He quickly looked away, trying to seem as if he hadn't seen Kirk's hand, blushing as he tried to look unsuspicious, and failing horribly as his entire face got red. Thankfully, Kirk would eventually swim back to everyone else, and he'd let out a sigh. That'd been close, Kirk was definitely the type who probably had an extra pair of swimshorts or something like that, it'd be hard to talk himself out if Kirk cornered him. But for now, he was safe. Or at least he'd thought he was. But Jace had done something rather unintentional. He'd managed to stand out, and people were noticing it seemed.
And the first person to approach him was that blue haired girl from earlier, that had been teasing the blonde girl who fell in the pool. At first Jace thought they'd been going to the bar, but instead thay stopped and walked straight up to the ginger boy and sat right next to him. Shock. Shock was probably what'd be used to describe his face, along with nervousness. She was sitting very close right now, and he wasn't sure why, causing him to blush to an insane amount. As she asked why he wasn't in the pool, the first thing that came out of him was a rather loud squeak followed by stammering. U-Ummm...Uhhh..I-I, uhhh...I-I d-don't have any s-swimming stuff... He could only blush at the girls further observations, his face turning redder and redder the more she kept going on. Unfortunately, Jace could be pretty oversensitive to such things as well. And while his face almost matched his hair at this point, he also looked somewhat upset at the words. W-What are you trying to- Though luckily, Jace would get cut off from getting upset as another person approached him. That blonde girl in the berry and fell into the pool.
At first he thought she was just going to Kirk, but then she kept going past Kirk and towards him, and once again Jaces eyes raised in surprise. But out of all the things the blonde girl would do, he had not at all been expecting to be offered her swan tube. He blinked a few times at first, mouth open as he obviously wasn't quite sure how to handle this situation. Why were all these people approaching him?! Still, he didn't seem upset over the long, bllue haired person's remarks anymore. Uh...Uhhhh... He really didn't know what to say about the swan inner tube. Obviously there were a few problems here, one being while his upper body might be safe, his jeans would be doomed to be soaked. And it would be in such a...private area, he couldn't help but blush more at the idea of a wet butt. I...I uhh...I don't... But before he could finish his sentence she was already moving past it, having apparently decided for herself it was a bad idea. Did these types of things normally happen in parties? He was really starting to get overwhelmed.
But despite Jaces struggles, the blonde girl stayed true to character, her second suggestion being just as out there as the first, suggesting a rhyming game of sorts. ...A...word game?.. Jace was obviously still struggling with the situation he'd found himself in. He had absolutely no knowledge or experience in this type of stuff, he really wasn't into poetry and things like that, and wasn't sure how the idea of an entire game based on it sounded. But the blue haired girl next to him lacked both his hesitation and inexperience, coming up with a rhyme on the spot, both impressing and surprising the ginger boy, turning to look at them. Though he had no interest in trying to come up with something on his own, this was both out of his expertise and comfort zone. He was still pretty convinced that this and these two weren't normal and that regular parties did not, in fact, have rhyming games. Still, when the blue haired girl, Luka, turned to him to shake his hand, he blushed heavily but didn't object. ..Umm...J-Jace... But when they offered their hand, Jace could only stare at it, blushing even heavier. For a minute he seemed to weigh his options regarding grabbing the girls hand, before slowly doing so, blushing even heavier as he hesitantly shook it.

Well... his effort at brief watery heroics ended up being rewarded by more rhyming and water whipped into his eyes. "No pro-BLEH! Dudette!" He lowered the girl into the water, assuming she could swim on her own. Her comment about Yumis swimsuit got a bit of a blush from him, but he shook his head back into regularity. "Heck of an impact, yeah!" He nodded furiously, as he turned back to swim over to the rest of the crew. Fricking, he was in water, and yet, still he couldn't keep his head properly cool! Admittedly, in that regard, a competition would be perfect to get things rolling and his concentration in the right place!
Takumis questions just made him even more needy for it! "Yeah, exactly! Something to get the blood pumping! And gets the whole crew moving!" Heck, Takumi pointing out that Miku and Rowan were playing ball went over his head for a second. "Yeah! If we had a ball like those two, we could definitely...!" Then his eyes widened like a lightbulb had popped over his head... He took a breath, and proceeded to do his thing.
"MIKU! ROWAN! PASS THE BALL WILL YA!? Let's get some proper splashing going!" He started spinning his shoulder as a big ol warm-up! Time to see what these yearwunners and other class twos had going for them! "Okay, simple rules! The one who doesn't catch the ball when its thrown in their general direction loses!" Maybe a bit too simple. But hey, it allowed others to add rules as the thing went on!

tags here | ◀ | The heart is a heavy burden ❤ She caught the ball that Miku threw to her and looked up at Farrah who came to her and she smiled to her co-captain. "Don't worry about it my friend. I hope you didn't hurt yourself?" She asked a little worried because that would be ashame. She listened to her fellow cheerleader and smiled even more and pointed to the dance floor in the left top corner of the room, "There it is, we just ask you kindly to dry off to do so, we could have a dancing contest maybe a little later." She giggled a little and threw the ball back at Miku and turned to Farrah and nodded when she said she would try and find her glasses, they must be quite easy to find in the blue bath when they were her usual pair of black glasses, "Let me know when you want to dance, I can get the guys from the bar to set up the music for it." Because even if the room had music around it wasn't really loud enough for a dance party. She caught the ball again from Miku and wanted to ask Feng, but she seemed to answer quickly that she was trying to relax. That was all good and she threw a bit back and forth with Miku. It was quite difficult to aim that thing when it was just an inflatable one. She caught the ball again.
She almost dropped it when she heard Kirk loud and clear. She looked at Miku and giggled and threw the ball to Kirk and nodded, "Simple enough, let's add a rule to that, we can't stop, we have to keep throwing, so not catch it and hold it, is what I mean." She didn't want to make a rule of twice being able to catch it but she would agree with it if someone else brought up. She looked shortly at Miku and made sure to move a little bit further into the pool, where she could still stand in case is necessary.
