Akari had a goal in mind today. After having met with some heroes over the past two weeks that weren't hell bent on turning her in after pretending to be nice, she had a feeling she could be a bit more open about her traveling around the city, about her trying to have a positive outlook. Maybe not everyone was an agent for her father. Maybe not everyone in the world would chase her out of the place! She had a new set of clothes and had washed up thanks to Aeris' generosity, though, she left the clothes hidden away in her little box home. Out and about in her usual outfit, Akari would be heading through the park to the Tokyo Public Library.
It was a public building, she had to be able to go in it without being chased out, right? But, plenty of restaurants chased her out too, which, didn't seem right because she had money for them. Putting that aside, the frugal homeless girl was ready to try and find some books to do some reading in, not just fantasy books or anything, no, she wanted to spend some time learning! SHe wanted to actually try and make up for the lack of knowledge she had thanks to her being out of school for years.
At the entrance to the library, she had a few odd looks going in, but that's likely because of her outfit. At the front desk, the girl would lean up on her tip toes to address the librarian at the computer. "Yes dear? Can I help you find something?"
"Hello! I was," SHe had to be shushed for a second and quickly quieted down, "Sorry, I wanted to see if I could check out a book?
"Well, do you have a library card? No? Well, you can go in to the library and read the books, but, you can't take them out of the building as part of our policy."
Akari nodded a little, and walked away, only to come right back with another question, "Do you, ummm, do you have any school books?"
"No. I'm afraid we do not have regular school books, that is something you get from school, you should know that. Is there anything else I can help you with? Maybe you are interested in the scholarly journals? The subject matter might be a bit grandiose for you to grasp at such a young age...why aren't you in school anyways? And where are your parents?" Well, it was the middle of the day, kids should be in school.
AKari seemed to sink down before she mumbled under her breath, she's got no parents and no school, she's homeless. "What? Why? You know what, nevermind, just, head in to the back and go read anything you find an interest in, it might help you out somehow."
Akari would sulk her way beyond the desk and to the back of the place, ready to go read some books. Meanwhile, the desk worker would call up the authorities to report the situation, as part of her duty, while Akari would find a book on music theory at least! Oh this library was about to get loud and hectic thanks to Akari.

As the libarian said, it was the middle of the day, and kids should be in school at this hour. So, this begs the question, why the hell wasnt Red in school right now? Well, that answer was quite simple: Technically he didnt have to be. You see, if someone were to peak at the UA time table, they'd see that on certain days, the students had long free periods depending on what class they were in. They all shared this on fridays but for class 2-C (Assuming the timetables i saw were accurate), this period happened on from Wednesday to Friday, Free period, Lunch, Then Home room. As far as Red was aware, during said free periods you could just leave and go somehwhere, long as you tell someone. Which is exactly what he did on this day, blissfully unaware that he was probably breaking some kind of rule. Why? Because he had a book to find.
You see, Red might not look the type, considering the scars, the wind aura, how disheveled he usually looked, but he did like reading books. Not the kind his sister liked, as much as he liked fantasy some stuff was a bit too high fantasy for his taste, like that LUNA thing she liked reading. He tried it once, only liked that D'Arc guy cause in a world of magic bullshit he went around using the bare mimimum required to use his Bullet Knives. Still kind of a loser though, didnt know why they felt familar.
He was the kind to prefer either low fantasy or complete sci fi, and would you know it, he'd found one of those online. it was called Crown Of Light: Fall of Arrival, an old book from 70 years ago. First of many lore books for that series, infact it released before the first game. Red had always tried finding a physical copy of it, but so far his search had come up with nothing for years. Sure, he could just read it online, but thats just not the same as a real book, ya know?
Luckily, somehow, he heard a library in Tokyo had a copy, so at the first oppourtunity he could, being one of those free periods, he let someone, probably a class mate, know that he was gonna head out and if they could tell whoever needed to be told about that, and he was off. He'd probably be back in time for hero class anyway, he was just gonna pick up a book after all. It was a pretty fast train ride, all things considered, he'd still have plenty of time to get back to school. The station was right next to the park it was in, after all.
So this is how Red, in his UA school uniform, albeit pretty fuckin scruffy looking and a backpack full of school stuff, ended up at the library in question. It was a pretty big building, all things considered, but that wouldnt deter him any. All he had to do was find the sci fi section, start looking down where the books starting with C were, and he'd be golden. Maybe he could grab a couple extra tech books too, figure out some new way something could be made or an idea on what to build to help with his quirk, who knew. He could spend some time lookin around, get some food, and be back on the train just in time for class. After all, it'd be pretty fuckin stupid to get kicked outta UA just cause you wanted a book, after all.
He'd completely bypass the front desk lady, who was probably confused as to why a UA student was here, but he had to find the book first before he could even try getting it out of here. He could just do the paper work for a card later, after all, and there wouldnt be any point if it wasnt here anyway. Unfortunatly, this meant he had no idea where he was going....and since it was a pretty big building, he'd end up getting lost.
"Ah, goddammit, where was it again?....i shoulda just asked the front desk lady." He'd mumble under his breath while rubbing his head in slight confusion, having found himself in the back of the place, surronded by books that were definetly not what he was looking for. Atleast they werent sci fi, he knew that much. He was content to just abandon the search and go back to the front desk, when his eye caught somone close by. It was a young girl, probably younger than he was form the looks of it, but she wasnt wearing a uniform...well, a school uniform atleast, she was apparently cosplaying a fire fighter. She was reading atleast, not sure if she'd noticed him in his idiotcy yet.
Man, shouldnt she be in school? I mean thats kinda ironic coming from me, but she looks younger than i fuckin am. Is she alright? Doesnt she have parents wondering where she is or something? Why's she here in the middle of the day? She lost like i am? He'd ask himself the very some questions someone would ask about him, considering he was technically skipping school to be here. After a few seconds, he decided that he should probably make sure that this girl is actually doing okay before going back to the front desk, just in case. his inner brotherly instincts flaring up a bit for some reason.
All he'd had to do was walk up and strike up a conversation. Easy, right? Unfortunatly for everyone involved....Red was an awkard kid. "Uhh....Hey.....What uhh, what you readin there? You Alright?" Is what he'd ask as he walked up, with his hands in his pockets. He wasnt exactly the best at conversations, after all. He'd also completely forgotten what he'd come here for. Such is the way of a kid who's natural instincts requires him to help literally anyone he bloody can.

Akari was humming to herself, a nice little tune that she often played on her harmonica, trying to learn how to sing or play an instrument through a book without an instructor was hard, but she couldn't afford one, she couldn't even afford a new harmonica. Akari would instead, just try to learn. As she was sitting there, her head was bobbing to the left and right at a nice three over eight rhythm. For someone who didn't have a lot going for her, she could at least keep a rhythm, it was silly to see those pigtails bobbing and bouncing though.
She was at least grasping something about music, and that it wasn't always best to just do whatever you could and want to do. There was at least some planning or math to it, not that she was good at that. So if she did this, or tried doing that, her harmonica might start to sound better, and people might listen to her more, and that's fine, in her mind. If more people gave her tips for her harmonica playing, the police wouldn't harass her over it, she just hoped that deep down no one would give her a large tip, remembering that one time where after she got back with a single large sum, she basically had it confiscated from her.
When someone approached her and spoke up, she let out a squeak, having been so lost in it that she wasn't even aware they approached. Throwing the book in to the air and falling back, the book would land on her face while she grumbled before rolling over and kipping up to her feet, folding her arms and giving him a look, "You startled me!" She saw that uniform he was in and furrowed her brow for a moment before taking just one step back, "SOrry, I didn't mean that. I'm just a little -- sorry." SHe said while poking her index fingers together.
Meanwhile, with the authorities called silently, they would be on their way to investigate a case of a homeless underage girl on her own and in the library, they would be arriving shortly thanks to having a patrol car nearby.

Man, she's good at humming. Red would think as he approached, watching the girl bob her head back and forth in a pretty nice rhythum, all things considered. Though to be fair, Red wasnt exactly the best person to talk to when it come to that kinda stuff, but he did have to admit that watching pigtails bounce to a beat was pretty cute looking, all things considered. He took a quick peek at the book she was reading, but he couldnt exactly tell what it was. It didnt look like a work of fiction, atleast, so many it was a music book or something. He also realised that trying to figure out what she was reading before asking was probably a stupid fuckin idea, and gave up it on pretty quick.
He didnt exactly expect to startle the girl as much as he did though. Just from looking anyone could tell that she was engrossed in whatever she was reading, so a complete stranger walking up and asking a question would probably ellict some kind of surprise. But jesus, the lady literally threw the book into the air while flailing her arms, fell backwards onto the floor and had the book land on her face. If Red wasnt completey dumbstruck by this turn of events, he probably would have tried catching the book for her, but the sight was honestly pretty hilarious. He had to try really hard to not laugh at her, his grin and eyes twitching as he held back the forces of mockery.
"A-are uhhh...are you alright there?" He'd ask the lass currently grumbling on the floor, his tone attempting to sound like he wasnt about to break out into a fit of chuckles on the spot. He went to hold out a hand to her, but instead she just rolled over and jumped up on her own, looking a bit annoyed at the fact that he was clearly the cause of this little incident. He'd just scratch at his face in response, clearling feeling a little awkward about the whole thing. "Yeah....sorry." He'd apologise, before she furrowed her brow at him and stepped back rather abruptly and started apologising to him instead. Wait, but it is my fault though? Why is she apologising? He'd think to himself, pretty puzzled. Why would she? He was clearly the one in the wrong here, so whats up?
Looking down at himself, he'd realise the cause....or atleast what he thought was the cause. He was in his UA Uniform, and she probably felt like she was interrupting his business? He clearly didnt understand it, but he had to fix this little misunderstanding. "Ah, dont worry about it, its my fault for startling you in the first place, sorry." He'd apologise again, rubbing the back of his head. He didnt exactly know why, but looking at her kind of reminded him of his sister, and the way she'd try and make herself look guilty to avoid a rather annoyed Red telling her off....especially the finger pokes, it was almost textbook.
On brotherly instinct, his hand would extend to pat her on the head, like he'd do after every little incident with the big sister. "Seriously, its fine, you dont need to apologise....whats your name anyway, miss? What you doing here? Just readin a.......music book? Oh, My names Reddarcc by the way." He'd ask her, taking a glace to the side to look at the cover of the book currently on the floor. It'd take a few seconds to realise that he was in fact patting her on the head like she was actually his sister, and he'd very slowly move his hand up off of her head....unless she was fine with it of course, but the odds of a girl being fine with a complete stranger doing that within 30 seconds of meeting you were pretty bloody slim, if he had to guess.
He had no idea the authorities were about to fuckin show up.

She grumbled as she had gotten up, stating she was fine before accusing him, briefly before she resorted to apologizing for something she didn't do. She was a panicky girl whow as worried the worst would befall her because she was who she was. Regardless of who she was with. "I'm Akari, just, Akari. No, no, you don't understand, I have to -- I'm just -- I'm sorry if I didn't see you approach me sooner?" SHe asked while looking up, noticing that the hand was on her head, and then looked at Red, her face reddening for a moment. She was about ready to recoil when it happened.
Cutting back to the ground floor, two officers would come in to the building, ready to find the girl. Walking up to the woman at the front desk, they would look to get the information. Being told about the girl, her hair, her stature, her attire, her interest in school books oddly enough, and where they could find her in the building. After getting the information, a distorted and static laden voice came over one of their walkie talkies. They would grab it, "Yes Sir, it's her. No Sir, we won't. Yes Sir, we will make sure of it. Yes Sir, we will keep an eye out for anyone. Roger, over and out." Putting their device away, it was time to go investigate. They would split up, taking two different staircases up to try and find AKari.
What were they here for? well, that was about to be revealed when they noticed Red, and noticed he had his hand on Akari's head. "Hey! You there! Stop!" It was as if they were talking to Red at first, but when Akari had a small freak out, she would push Red weakly away and look to make a break for it. With nowhere else to go for either of the staircases, AKari would run straight to the railing that kept people from falling over to the ground floor. Hiking herself up on to it as the two officers approached, one with one of those quirk inhibiting collars, the other with a set of cuffs, Akari left them behind as she leaped from the second floor to try and reach the other side of the floor. Her quirk activating in rabbit mode so she could get some extra oomph in her kick, flames surrounding her body in the form of rabbit features such as a tail, ears, and paws of fire. Leaving them behind, one officer would run after her as she went for the stairs, the other would approach Reddarc.
"Kid, are you alright? Are you looking to press charges against her for assault?" He would ask, though, if told no, he would reach in to his pocket and pull out a small stack of cash, offering it to Red, "Are you sure you don't want to press charges? At all? We have a vested interest in making sure that girl is brought to justice, so, if you would be a kind member of society..."

Why did i think this was a good idea? Red would ask himself as he realised that his hand was currently on top of Akari's head, his brotherly instincts being overwritten with common sense pretty fast. It didnt help that Akari was going as red as his namesake aswell, and his hand shot upwards with the speed of a fighter jet. "Lady, stop apol--whatever, im sorry, its just i uhh....yeah im sorry about that, instincts felt like doing that, sorry Akari" He'd apologise to the girl who looked like she was about to recoil from what he'd done. Having a stranger pat your head fiveseconds after meeting you would consititute that kind of reaction after all. "Seriously though, you dont need to apologise so much alright? Its my fault to begin with." Said the Hypocrite who'd apologised about five times in the space of this conversation, rubbing the vback of his head with an awkward grin on his face. "A-anyway, h-how are yo--"
Unfortunatly, this spectale of awkward interaction would be interrupted rather abruptly, with the arrival of two special individuals shouting at Red, in a voice that was very familar to his ears: It was the fucking cops. As soon as they shouted to stop, Reds eyes would spin in their direction, and he'd let out a tired sigh. Ah great, are they gonna get me done for skipping school or something? Even though i told someone where i was going and i still have like an hour i think....what was i doing here again? He'd ask himself, quickly attempting to come up with an alibi like he'd had to do multiple times before. But as it turned out, they werent here for him.
While Red was trying to come up with an Alibi, Akari almost freaked out. "H-Hey are you alri--" Is all he'd be able to get out as he noticed, and Akari pushed rather lightly passed him, looking absolutely terrified and looking for a way out of this place. In all honestly Red just instinctivly turned to the side to give her a better escape route, his nose was smelling some bullshit. He couldnt exactly pin it on anything yet, but for this girl to be running scared from the cops? Something had to be up, she didnt look like she could hurt a fly. The Cops even had a weird collar thing and cuffs already in hand, what the fuck was going on?
"Hey, wait!" He'd call to the girl, almost turning to run after her to find out what was wrong, as her quirk activated and she jumped over the railing. To do something like that in a public space? In view of everyone? This whole situation screamed bullshit to Red. Yeah, bullshit detecters going off, i gotta help this girl somehow. He'd think as he turned to chase....but thats when the cop came up to talk to him. His parter had run off after her, but he probably didnt have a chance to catch her, not at the speed she was going.
Well, Red got his answer on why this smelled like bullshit. The cop immeditaly asked if he wanted to press charges against her. Red had to hold himself back from just straight up punching him. "Press charges? For fucking what? Thats not assault no matter how you fuckin spin i---" He'd start to decline, but the cop pulled out a wad of cash at the same. It was Five K Yen. This man was planning on bribing Red the japanese equivelent of fifty bucks to press charges against a little girl? Fuck off.
This man oozed bullshit and slime with every word that got outta his mouth. Vested interest? Brought to justice? Being a kind member of society? Red couldnt believe the bullshit this guy was bloody spouting. You can fuck right off with that shit, that aint happenin here today. was what was screaming in his mind. His face had contorted into being a very strained smile, trying to hold back the urge to sucker punch him and run. Apparently the cop picked up on this and stacked another five K on top, so that was ten thousand Yen, the equivelent of one hundred quid he was being offered to falsly accuse this girl.
Well, theres only one thing Red would do in this situation: Fuck over the corrupt cops, simple. "Sure, that sounds like a GREAT idea." He'd put on the most sarcastic, fake tone imaginable, snatching the money outta the cops hands. "You know what i'll do with this? I'll donate it to the Go Fuck Yourself, You Complete Cunt Fund, see ya, fucker, ive gotta go make a delivery to someone" He'd say to the cop with the fakest smile known to man, as he turned on his heels and ran, before the cop had a chance to do anything. Now this was a familar situation, except this time, he could help someone outta a bad situation. His plan was simple: Catch up to Akari, get her out of here, and make sure she's alright with this fuckin pig money he'd "Borrowed" form the bastards.
Following after the route she'd taken, He'd jump over the railing and make after her, flipping off the cop in the proccess. He didnt like whatever that collar thing was, it looked like tech so it might have been a shock collar or something. Why the fuck would you use anything like that on her was a mystery, but they wouldnt be getting a chance today. Assuming they'd gotten outside, Red would activate his skates and make chase.....after he performed a little procedure on their patrol car. He'd just take out the dusters from the wheels on one side, so that the air would start escaping and deflate the tires. With his skill? it was a five second job. Try catching her with no air in your airs, you fucks. He'd think to himself. He'd memorise the licence plate too, just in case he ever found a cop that wasnt a complete fuck to report this too....maybe UA could do something about it, who knows.
Speaking of UA? He'd completely forgotten that he was supposed to be in school right now....and the last train back to mustafu he could catch without being late wuld be leaving very shortly. Not like he cared about that right now though. He just hoped he could catch up to her in time.

Akari had bolted, fled the scene, caused a ruckus, disturbed the peace, assaulted a student, eluded police arrest, the second cop writing it all down quickly in short hand code before rushing off after the girl who was already breaking public property by fleeing through the window in the place. They just wanted to make her life miserable, and that they did. They harassed her, they treated her poorly, they bribed the general public to be against her, they worked for her father, her father wanted her dead, but wanted her alive to suffer through to the end. Her mind racing a mile a minute with every little thing that was wrong with all of this. She couldn't take too much money from anyone. SHe couldn't have too much food. She couldn't get new clothes. It would all be thought of as stolen.
She couldn't have any sort of medicine, it was considered possession of controlled substances. SHe couldn't use her quirk, it was attempted arson. She wasn't able to directly talk to people, that was harassment of the public. It was like the entire police force of tokyo was out against her. In actuality, that might just be the case, sadly.
Cutting back over to Red and the officer that tried to bribe him, the officer sneered at the kid, "Look, Quirker, I'm offering you quadruple, if you would just make a simple statement, let me charge her, and we can both never see each other again!" He said in a strained nice tone, trying to be kind, but, his words seeped with venom.
As Red took the money and ran out as well, the cop reached out after him, but just sighed, called it in with a vague description of him for future reference, and then went off to join his buddy outside. The chase was hectic, and Akari managed to elude them briefly, just in time to round the corner as Red would be standing up at the cop car. Her quirk active, moving much faster than the average human, and would inadvertently run in to him full force, knocking herself back from lack of muscle mass and weight to throw around.
SKidding along the ground, she'd quickly get to her feet and start apologizing to him, bowing, her hair bobbing up and down before she turned to see the duo of officers coming after her. SHe would bolt, running clear across the busy street, causing the halt of many cars and the honk of several horns. SHe didn't want to be caught, she didn't want to go see her dad, she just wanted to read a book! Stupid librarian, she thought to herself, this was all her fault. No, she thought, this was all HER fault for wanting to read, cycling back to how she was breaking away from where she was supposed to be to try and better herself, it was her fault for breaking the rules of her father.

Hehehehe, try fuckin chasing her now, you corrupt pricks. Red would think, standing up from having sabotaged a police vehicle. It was a quick job, and there was barely anyone around so they wouldnt be able to tell what he was doing. After all, all he'd done is steal the caps that kept the air in.....and maybe punched a microscopic hole in each tire just to make sure they went flat by the time the cops showed up to try and chase. In all honesty, it took him back to his pre UA days. Getting questioned by a cop every day due to "Suspected quirk use" cause he was skating around. He'd gotten good at bullshit that all his quirk was was the wind aura, and making his micro bursts almost invisible to the naked eye. They couldnt arrest a man for something he "Couldnt" control after all, despite how hard they tried....but thats a story for another time. He took a quick look around to try and find Akari, but it seemed she'd wasnt around. Eh, i guess she got away. I'll search around a bit, atleast i managed to keep the cops off her for a----
His thought process were very quickly interrupted by the very same girl he was thinking about barrelling into him. He'd find himself knocked back a little bit, enough that you could say he wasnt around the cop car anymore, but he didnt fall over. He'd only taken a few steps back, whereas Akari skidded along the ground like he'd been the one to run into her. That....really didnt seem right, the speed she was going should have logically sent him flying, he wasnt a fuckin brick wall, right? Actually, now that he thought about it, that push earlier was....surprisingly light for a girl trying to run for her bloody life.
"Hey, Hey listen its fine, you need to aplogise again, are you okay? You need to ru----" He'd get cut off as he noticed how thin she was. Even with her quirk active, it was easy to tell that she was malnourished, and he really, really didnt like the implications he was getting from that. If he took into account that fact, plus an active quirk, plus cops trying to get you falsly accused of things so you have to keep running away from them, then.....Oh jesus christ this is really bad. He'd think. He really, really hoped her quirk didnt work like he thought it did.
He wouldnt get any more time to think about that though. He was about to grab her hand and bolt when she noticed the cops, promptly stopped doing something similar to his patented machine gun bowing to apologise, and ran for her life. Red'd noticed it at the same time, but she already had a head start on him due to him going for her hand. He bolted after her, activating his skates and tricking over a couple cars that had to stop and/or swerve outta her way. Once they were on the other side of the road though, it only took a second for him to catch up to her on his skates.
"Hey, Akari, i know a short cut around here, they wont be able to follow us i promise. You just gotta trust me, alright?" He'd offer her a quick way outta this situation, holding out his hand for her to take it. She had absolutely no reason to trust him, considering they had met five minutes ago, but it didnt matter. She was in trouble, and Red wasnt just let her get screwed over for something that, considering the cops attempt at a bribe earlier, she probably didnt do. If he did, he'd be a massive hypocrite, after all.
Should she take his hand, then Red would lead her into a nearby alley, pull her into a princess carry, and start tricking up to the rooftops. His hope that was that this would cause her to turn her quirk off, just in case. He'd have to ask later but right now he was running under an assumption of how it worked. He had an idea of where to go if you wanted to lose someone. To be honest, they'd probably already lost the cops after them currently, but Red wasnt gonna take any chances. After all, they could easily just call for back up nearby. So, therefore, they needed to find somewhere to hide for now.
Luckily, there was a place like that nearby. It was a district that could be described, for lack of a better word, as a fucking maze. If you wanted to run from someone, that'd be the easiest place to lose em. After all, they had to use the maze of streets below, he could just use the roof tops, then dive into a ramen shop or store or something to lose em. He just hopped that steam punk was around again, now was not the time for that to happen again.
He wouldnt be heading back to UA on time atleast. Train was just about to leave, and he was going in the opposite direction. Man that would be a bitch to deal with later.

With Red catching up to her in the nick of time, she stumbled, quickly righting herself as Red came and offered his hand. With nothing else to do, she had a great moment before her. It was as if time slowed down, her brain moving at light years a second. She wanted to take the hand, get out of here, see what it was he wanted to show her. But, deep down, she couldn't trust him,s he couldn't trust anyone. She had been offered so much safety before, and people took advantage of it to try and use it against her. Or they tried to help her out just to make it worse. Or they were actors paid by her father to make things even worse by trying to set her up in to traps. She reached fr the hand, but hesitated.
She had to make the decision, trust in someone and test her trust? Or keep running? It was lucky she opted for the former, grasping firmly to Red's hand as he would hoist her up, carting her off like a princess and up to the rooftops. The highest she had ever been. Her eyes wide with amazement, she marveled at how the city looked different from up here. Hard to believe someone that lived in the city had never been up this high right? Well, most buildings don't let homeless people come in and see the roofs.
It was lucky she had taken his hand, there was a police blockade around the block already. ANd they had lost the cops, Akari would have died down there, either by her quirk, or by gunfire. But here she was, being carried away like in a fantasy book off to the maze district, a place where they could assuredly get some privacy, and get to discussing things. The moment that Red would set her down, she would poke her fingers together, "So, you really aren't just taking me to the police station." SHe would say, she had doubted him the whole way there. And, by the sound of her voice, she was sorry for it.
And with tears in her eyes, she would look up at him, and then leap in for a big hug, the first time she felt she could actually do this to someone in years. And it was like a dam had been broken through as she pressed her face in to his chest, getting his uniform wet while she shuddered and sniffled, trying to keep it in as she was expressing her sorrow for doubting someone that wanted to help, remembering the regret of running from people that tried to help her in the past, and just so overly joyed to be making contact with a person yet again.

He breathed an internal sigh of relief as Akari grabbed his hand, seeing as her quirk turned off in the process of him picking her up and running. She was surprisingly light considering that he was a weak bitch strength wise, but maybe UA had been doing some good to him on that front......or she was malnorished as fuck and had no muscle mass, that was more likely. Either way, she wouldnt really hinder him that much in regards to his tricky ways. Sure, he couldnt use his arms to grab onto things, but that just meant he had to keep the movements simple, he could still use his legs just fine. Plus if he had too he could just use one arm if he REALLY needed to grab something. Speaking of, he'd have to do that to hop over onto some rooftops, but other than that it was smooth sailing from there.
It did seem like he'd made the right choice though. Not that the cops would look up, but they'd passed by a blockade pretty easily. Why the cops felt the need to put up a fucking blockade for one little girl was beyond him, but he smelled some real bullshit in the works. He'd notice her amazement at being up this high, considering he'd made a similar face when he first started skating with his quirk. "Nice view, aint it?" He'd remark as the apex of one of his jumps. Luckily it wouldnt take long to get to the Maze TM, since roof tops can make a very direct route when you can use em effectively.
He'd drop down from the rooftops into a deserted alley, a risky move but he couldnt just drop into the street, there might be people there. After checking that the coast was clear he'd let Akari jump outta his arms. She seemed....a bit confused that he'd helped her. She sounded sorry for doubting him atleast, but he was just confused. "Akari why would i do that, im not that much of a prick....by the way, you alright?" He'd ask, concern evident in his voice. He was still worried about what her quirk might have done to her, in case she still needed help.
His idle thoughts would get interrupted pretty fast though, thanks to Akari leaping into his arms for a hug. She knocked him back a little bit, unsurprisingly considering he wasnt expecting it, and just started bawling her eyes out. She must have been holding it in for a while, cause her eyes were leaking like a bounching bomb had hit the dam keeping it in. Red didnt exactly know what to do about that, so he started to pat her head again. "Its err.....Yeah its alright, dont worry about it." He'd tell her as he did, very awkwardly but with a smile on his face as he looked down at her. He had no idea what to do so he just followed his instincts.
But as he looked down, he remembered something. Something very important. He was in his UA uniform. So, the cops would know that it was a UA student who'd helped her out, if they'd been paying attention. And since he only really knew of two other blonde guys in school, well.....that kinda narrowed the playing field a bit. Plus.....taking a quick look at the time, he'd realised that there was no way he was going to get back to school on time for the next class....so now he was skipping class to help people out. Oh boy im gonna get a bollocking when i get back, arent i? He'd think to himself. He'd come out for a damn book and ended up probably saving a girls life, that was gonna take some explaining...and helpful lying. Still thought it was worth it.
Once Akari had got most of it out of her system, Red'd just say one thing: "So uhh....you wanna go get a bite to eat after that? Im buyin, just so you know. Oh, by the way, this is yours." While handing over the 20K yen he'd grabbed form that cop. He was probably gonna get in deep shit when he went back, so might as well make sure Akari was alright first before he left.....he could just lie and say he got the wrong train or something like that. He'd figure it on the way back, he had some time.

"What's a prick? Like, from a needle? I don't like needles. They remind me of doctors. And, doctors remind me of my parents..." It was a loose association, she poked her index fingers together. Puffing her cheeks out while she was frustrated she didn't understand some form of slang. For the girl, she was showing just how out of the loop she was, and how bad her education was. When it came to book and streets smarts, she was stunted on both, as part of her forced isolation.
"I'm good though, thank you. That was fun, to go up over the buildings like that." SHe would declare while looking around the alley way, trying to find boxes already. If she was going to be here for a while, she was going to start making a house for herself. If asked, she would plainly tell him, she's looking for a house, she needs one if she's gonna be hiding here.
When he went back to petting her head, she flinched, the apprehension apparent, but, she yieled in to it, and put her hands on his, showing him the motion she enjoyed, or, felt she enjoyed from a head petting. When he offered to buy food, her eyes lit up as she leaned up, on to her tip toes. "Really? What can we get? I wanna get something really fancy, like, a burger! A fresh burger." To Akari, even bad food was good food, she didn't get to eat high end steak or anything, so, greasy and filling foods were just as good to her, probably because she starved herself on what little money she had. When she was given the twenty thousand yen, she seemed to tense up about it, "N-No, that's too much."
Why would someone homeless turn money away? Well, when she had too much money on hand, she was shaken down for it by the officers because they would assume she stole it. She was a homeless person with a cap on how much money she could beg for in a single day, ain't that a bitch?

"....uhhh...." Red would stall, having to process the fact that he'd have to to explain what a prick was to a little girl. Internally, he was screaming, realising that this was not a thing he should be the one handling. He'd thought that, it looked like she'd been on the run for a while, that she'd have picked that kinda language up but....guess he was wrong. Maybe she'd heard it before but just never asked, or was too scared to talk to anyone on account of the whole police business. Still....how do you describe what it is? You cant exactly tell a young girl what it means, considering its a word to describe a certain body par---- Oh great now you've reminded her of her parents, you damn idiot.....wait whats up with her parents anyway? He'd think in the back of his mind, as he came up with a very quick explanation that would hopefully tide her over for a bit....he really hoped he didnt get any follow up questions.
"It uhh....Yeah kind of, you know that unpleasent feeling you get when a needle goes in? Thats....kind of like that? Yeah, thats what i meant." He'd explain, giving the blanantly wrong definition to what he'd meant. He'd have to make sure he watched what he said, it looked like. Hopefully Akari wouldnt be able to tell considering she didnt know. But, didnt look like she would, considering she was looking around for some reason. "You uhh...you lookin for somethin? I already checked around there shouldnt be anyone around." He'd ask, before she told him she was looking for a house so she could hide in it if she was gonna be here for a while. "....what do you mean by a house? Theres only apartments around here....might be a couple abandoned ones but you'd have to look around." He'd respond, not really understanding what she really meant.
When she flinched for a second as he put his hand on her head, he'd just leave it there for a sec, still not really knowing what to do in this situation. Luckily, it looked like she was fine with it, as she pretty much showed him how she would like him to do it or something....it was kinda weird in all honestly but he just went with it, it looked like it was making her feel better atleast, that was good....he hoped. Offering to buy her food seemed to do that better though, considering she went from apprehensive crying to lighting up like a little kid being told they could get whatever they wanted form a sweet shop. He would have told they could get whatever she wanted, but considering she thought that a fresh burger was really fancy food, he had a better idea.
"Sure, we could go for burgers.....but, i know something that might be a bit better for ya. It'll make a burger look like nothing in comparison. Plus its close by." He'd tell her. He wasnt exactly lying, but apparently Fresh food was gormet to her so he wondered how she'd react to what he was offering. It'd be better for her anyway, considering how he thought he quirk worked...he still needed to ask about that, maybe once they got to the place. But before that, he had to wonder why Akari was attempting to turn away 20K yen. It didnt exactly make sense, she could use this to buy a bunch of food for herself. Still, he wasnt just gonna let her turn it away, he couldnt exactly hold on to it since he'd technically stolen it, and he didnt want it anyway. He had an idea about how to use it, atleast.
"...Ok, not sure why you dont want it but okay. How much of it would you be willing to take? Just have that amount, and we can spend the rest on other stuff for ya....Like food, or a book like that one at the library or somethin. In fact you could probably buy a couple school books like that around here.....i'll keep an eye out for whatever you wanna spend it on, alright? Keep hold of it for now though, it is your money after all." He'd offer, giving her a awkward thumbs up in the process, as he decided that it was time to get moving. It'd look real weird if they kept talking about money in an alley way of what could be considered a bit of a shady neighbourhood. God if Aeris knew i was doing this instead of goofing off in her class she'd probably fuckin kill me.
Assuming Akari followed him, He'd lead her around the corner and down the street for about five minutes, until they managed to find the place that Red was looking for. He'd been here before, a few months back, when he had to run from some guys and ended up meeting a couple people in here, before he went to UA. As he walked in, he'd just ask Akari one question:
"Tell me, you ever had ramen before? Its really good!"

SHe folded her arms and shook her head, making her pig tails shake back and forth, putting her foot firmly to the ground, she would explain it. "No, my house is between a bunch of buildings. But, the thing that stops rain over it needs to be a new one. SO, I have to get more house material." SHe would say while smiling as she hoisted out a piece of cardboard. Yes, she was talking about a hand made house made from card board that she scavenged from dumpsters all over the city.
WHen he mentioned something fancier than a burger, her eyes lit up more, like animated stars glistening in them as she hopped up and down. "Oh really?! But I don't think I can afford that!" She was still convinced she would have to pay for her food herself.
And then Red tried to give her that money, all that money, enough for a book or two! She seemed to back away from him as he offered it, shaking her head, "No, no. The police take it away if I have too much. They say it's evodance. Evo dance.... Ev -- no, ev, ev, evi dance? Eeveedence! Because I could have stolen it. The same goes for books." She mumbled while poking her index fingers together.
When he kept insisting the money was hers, she just gave up, allowing him to say it was hers and taking it to pocket away in to her jacket. "Okay...if you're sure." SHe grumbled before lighting up again at the mention of Ramen.
Following behind Red, there was no way of knowing they both met Aeris before, in fact, Akari had tried to log on to Aeris' social media accounts through her phone when the hero let her stay with her for a couple of days, before Akari ran before any further investigations could be made.
"I don't remember the last time I had ramen. It's super expensive, or the cheap stuff I can't make because I need what water I get to bathe." She said while self consciously pulling her jacket around her body. She really had it rough out here.

".....you mean a roof? Or a tarp over the roof?" Red would ask, his head tilting to the side in abject confusion as he watched Akari pick up a bunch of cardboard. She was being forced to live between a bunch of buildings in, considering she was picking up cardboard, a bunch of boxes in the middle of the city? Red just.....couldnt believe it. How long had she been living like this? Weeks? Months? God, if he had a place for her to stay he would have offered it immeditaly, but he figured his sister would not take too kindly to a new guest.....or that Akari would trust his sister. I mean Red wouldnt trust her with a pet, and especially not taking care of someone. He couldnt take her to dorms either, since.....he'd get murdered by everyone if they found a girl in his room, plus he already had Kaz in there so there was no space.....still though, this was just fuckin awful.
"I mean, yeah you can. You have 20K Yen you can buy ALL The fancy food you want! You can buy anything you want, probably. Besides, you are the one paying for this meal anyway." He'd respond, chuckling a little as her eyes like up and she started hopping up and down like a kid who just got told he had free reign over the entire candy store. The fact that it was ramen setting off this kind of reaction was very, very worrying, but he'd have to deal with that later. After all, he still had to make sure Akari got away safe, with a full stomach and less chance of her quirk fucking killing her....he still needed to ask about that. Probably over the ramen.
Watching her back away form the money that was rightfully hers though, Red would frown a little bit. It didnt make sense, she should be jumping for joy about getting 20K yen, thats a lot of money! But them she gave him an explanation....and his heart sank. The cops didnt just harass her whenever they were called in, they actively went looking for her and stole her hard earned stuff. He could feel his blood boiling at the thought of that, grown men shaking down a little girl for no other reason than to be collasal dick heads or something. He refused to believe that Akari had purposfully done any wrong doing, at most it was probably a quirk accident....atleast in his mind.
Still though, she eventually relented and took her money, so was was well with the world. Hopefully it helped her out in someway and didnt get stolen immeditaly....though now the thought occured to him... "Hey Akari....you know those pieces of paper you get when you buy something?....do you keep those around in any way? Not that it would help with the cops because they seen to be real di---i mean jerks, but if you kept those around whenever someone asked if something you bought was yours it might cause you a little less hassle? They are called receipts." Red would ask her. It was a long shot, but just having that knowledge might aid her in the future so....it was worth telling her.
As they walked in to the ramen place, Reds face would drop into an awkward smile, for a couple reasons. The first, was that Akari was calling Ramen super expensive food. It really wasnt, but, considering the cops stole her money all the time, any price that had a 0 at the end was probably expensive to her. It was a very, very terrible way to live, one that he would have to try and find a way to rectify somehow, but.....he'd have to figure that out. Maybe he could appeal to a teacher or something about it, while he was in detention for skipping class. The second reason.....was because the owner recognised him.
"...hello, welcome to the jo-----oh....its you. You planning on dining and dashing again?" The owner of the place would ask him, his look going from customer service apathy to slight disdain for the quirker who had ran out of his shop to have a fight with some guy in a cast a few months back. Red was surprised he still remembered that, but it didnt matter that much. "Dude, come on, i was tryin to help the guy out....besides, we did pay, didnt we? I did say we'd be back to do that, and we apologised so its fine....Anyway, Gimme two of the biggest bowls you have, we're starving. Oh, and keep the change." Red would reply to the guy, pulling out enough money to pay and a little extra on top to apologise for last time.
"....We? i dont see anyone else....oh." The owner would ask, looking around until he saw a small girl just behind Red. "....she your little sister or something?....she okay?" He'd ask, some genuine concern in his voice for a second....before he just turned around and got to makin their ramen. "....yeah, you could say that, i guess." He'd reply. As for Red, he'd just walk over to the closest booth and take a seat. Patting the seat next to him, he'd gesture for her to come over. "Dont worry, the food wont take that long, take a seat.....and i hope you got a big stomach, cause there is a lot in these bowls.....although even if you dont finish it you could probably bag the left overs for later." He'd tell her, a big smile on his face to hopefully reassure her that everything was fine and that this wasnt an attempt to turn her over to the cops or anything.
"Speaking of, while we wait.......you got any questions you wanna ask me? Like who i am and all that stuff? In fact.....you mind telling me about a little bit about yourself?" Red would ask her, just trying to start a conversation while they waited......he still wasnt good at this kinda crap.

She shook her head, "No, not a roof. A roof is like, a board. It doesn't bend or roll up. It's like a blanket, but it's got a candle like feel around it. ANd it's like, good for keeping water off stuff." She was talking about the waxy surface of a tarp, but, she just didn't know the words to put to it. She was immature for her age, as a result of what happened to her. And imagine what everyone would think if Akari told everyone Red taught her what the word 'prick' meant if she was a dorm living student with him? The horror.
Receipts? Those paper things? She thought about it. And then went a little red in the face as she looked away from him. The girl showing some of her teen side, as she poked her fingers together, she didn't want to say. "I well. I. That is, I just. I can't afford st-stuff like tissues, or toilet paper, or an-anything like that, so, I k-kind of have to, y-you know." She admitted that she had to make the best of a bad situation, plus, she never really understood the numbers on it.
When they walked in to the store, and Red introduced her as his sister, she hopped out from behind him, waving a hand up in to the air, "I met him today! He is NOT my brother, and I don't want him to be! Also, I have the money!" She proudly declared all of that, holding up the money she brought, it was her buying food with her money, so it was okay right? Then why did she have a nervous smile on her face?
Hopping up on to a nearby seat next to Red, she would happily swing her legs back and forth. What she said earlier, it was really rude. The way she dismissed him entirely. And when he asked her about herself, she just clammed up a little. "Well, my name is Akari. I want to be a fire fighter one day. And, I like to play on the harmonica." She didn't have a lot of stories about herself to tell, but, there were questions he could ask to get the answers he wanted, like, why she didn't want to think of him as a brother?
